Abstract
To improve visibility of the operating lever of a latch release device.SOLUTION: A latch release device 20 includes an operating lever 30 for mechanically switching a latch mechanism 12 from a latched state to an unlatched state by rotation to an emergency operating position, and a switch unit 40 for electrically switching the latch mechanism 12 from the latched state to the unlatched state by rotation of the operating lever 30 to a normal operating position. The switch unit 40 has a movable part 43 which moves forward and backward when the operating lever 30 is rotated to the normal operating position, and whose lever body 30a is moved apart when the operating lever 30 is rotated to the emergency operating position, and a switch 45 that is switched between an on state and an off state by the movement of the movable part 43 to the retracted position. The switch unit 40 has a light source 46, and the lever body 30a has an optical display part 32 through which the light from the light source 46 can pass.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
