Abstract

To provide a method and a system for efficiently and accurately predicting generation of an earthquake.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a method for predicting an earthquake and an earthquake prediction system which observe the amount of gamma-rays in the atmosphere for each specific period of time shorter than the half-life of bismuth 214 by observation means, acquire the amount of gamma-rays having an energy discharged from the bismuth 214 of the amount of gamma-rays in the atmosphere observed by data acquisition means, detect an abnormal value of the deviation of the amount of gamma-rays having an energy discharged from the bismuth 214 acquired by the data detection means from the average of the measurement data as a sign of an earthquake, and predict the time of generation of the earthquake on the basis of the time of generation of the abnormal value detected by the earth generation prediction means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
