Abstract

To provide an agent for CKD that contains a phenyl carboxylic acid derivative as an active ingredient.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a compound represented by the following formula. The compound of the following formula inhibits TIL, to suppress the production of IS, which is a uremic toxin. Thus, the compound of the following formula lowers IS levels in the blood, and protects the kidneys via mechanisms such as the reduction of plasma creatinine and blood urea nitrogen, thereby retarding the progression of CKD.
