Abstract

To provide a liquid crystal lens device that can generate a lens effect at an arbitrary position while suppressing reduction in optical performance, and a wide-angle fovea lens device using the same.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal lens device 10 has a liquid crystal cell 11, an ultrasonic unit 12 having a plurality of ultrasonic generation elements 18, a driving circuit 14, and a control section 15 controlling the ultrasonic unit 12 through the driving circuit 14. The liquid crystal lens device overlaps ultrasonic waves from the plurality of ultrasonic generation elements 18 to form one or more lens areas to be a convex lens or a concave lens at an arbitrary position of the liquid crystal cell 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
