Abstract

A wearable sensing garment for sensing ultrasonic waves from a body portion is provided, the sensing garment including a mesh-like fabric adapted to be worn on at least a body portion of a wearer, and a plurality of ultrasonic sensors disposed on the mesh-like fabric, each of the plurality of ultrasonic sensors adapted to detect ultrasonic waves returned from at least the body portion of the wearer and further adapted to transmit at least a portion of the detected ultrasonic waves to a controller communicatively connected thereto, wherein only a portion of the plurality of ultrasonic sensors, more than a predetermined number of the ultrasonic sensors, are in substantial contact with a skin layer of at least the body portion.
