Abstract

The purpose of the present invention is to obtain a printing device and a method for producing printed matter that make it possible to obtain an ink layer in which the intensity of a printed image formed on the surface of a piece of printed matter is high, without the need for large-scale equipment. A printing device according to the present invention comprises: a printing pad that has a printing surface which deforms following the shape of a printing surface of a piece of printed matter; a printing original plate that comprises a placement surface on which ink is placed; a printing original plate stage that the printing original plate is placed on; and an ink placement device that places the ink on the surface of the printing original plate. The printing pad is configured so as to be movable between the printing original plate stage and the piece of printed matter, and so as to be pressed against the printing original plate stage or the piece of printed matter. The ink placement device comprises a screen that an opening which the ink passes through is formed on, and a squeegee that slides on the surface of the screen.
