Abstract

To prevent occurrence of moire even when observing a display apparatus having a black matrix (BM) through a mirror device.SOLUTION: An electrochemical apparatus comprises: monitor means for displaying an image on a liquid crystal monitor display surface having a column direction BM; and variable mirror means including a working electrode and a counter electrode on first and second light-transmissive substrates and an electrolyte solution located between both electrodes and containing Ag, for applying a voltage between both electrodes to precipitate an Ag film on the working electrode. The working and counter electrodes respectively include a metal electrode group having a plurality of width-limited conductive patterns for connecting the metal lead frame pairs, and a transparent conductive film that adjoins the metal electrode group and covers the substrate surface. The metal electrode group is repeatedly curved, generally extending in parallel to the column direction BM, locally intersecting the column direction, and being reversed in an opposite direction to intersect the column direction again.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1-3
