Abstract

To provide a camshaft quenching device in which a quenching coil unit can be shared between the case of quenching a camshaft having a pump cam and the case of quenching a camshaft not having a pump cam, and the quenching coil unit need not be replaced.SOLUTION: A camshaft quenching device 10 includes a positioning mechanism 18 for positioning both ends of the camshaft 12 (12A). The positioning mechanism 18 has a tip jig 36 composed of a magnetic material and holding one end of the camshaft 12, and a support member 38 composed of a nonmagnetic material and supporting the tip jig 36. When the camshaft without the pump cam 16 is inductively heated by the quenching coil unit 24, the support member 38 is disposed at a position facing the pump cam coil 46b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
