Abstract

To make it possible to easily and accurately mount an object.SOLUTION: A method for positioning an object (3) having a peripheral surface (3.1) extending along an arc includes the steps of: mounting the object (3) on a rotatable mechanical part (4); installing a fixed first distance measurement device (1); installing a fixed second distance measurement device (2); determining both three first distance values (x1a, x1b, and x1c) and three second distance values (z2a, z2b, and z2c) at three mutually different angular positions (φa, φb, and φc) of the mechanical part (4): calculating a first offset value (O1) based on the three first distance values and their associated angular positions, and a second offset value (O2) based on the three second distance values and their associated angular positions; and displacing the object (3) relative to the mechanical part (4) until the first offset value is determined by the first distance measurement device (1) within a tolerable deviation and the second offset value is determined by the second distance measurement device (2).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
