Abstract

To provide a printer that reliably detects opening and closing of a cover of the printer at low costs.SOLUTION: A printer includes a printer housing, a cover part, a lock member, a lever member, an actuator, and a sensor. The cover part is a member capable of opening and closing the printer housing. The lock member is provided on both sides of the cover part in a width direction, and locks the closed state of the printer housing and the cover part by engaging with a locked member provided inside the printer housing. The lever member includes movable parts respectively provided in positions corresponding to the lock member of the cover part, and a shaft part connecting the movable parts. The movable parts respectively press the corresponding lock members by closing operation of bringing the cover part into the closed state. The actuator is provided at a position at which the lock member and the locked member engage with each other and is pressed by the lock member that has moved to the corresponding position. The sensor detects an opening or closing state of the cover part on the basis of a movement amount of the actuator.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
