Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a dust collection cover body for a drum cutter, and particularly, as an attachment to the tip of the arm part of a backhoe heavy machine, it covers and joins a pair of cutting rotary drums that constitute a drum cutter to be attached instead of a bucket, and relates to a dust collection cover body for a drum cutter that can suck and collect dust during cutting.

Background Art

[0002] A drum cutter is a known cutting device in which a large number of cutting picks embedded with cemented carbide tips protrude from the outer peripheral part of a flat disk-shaped cutter drum, and it is possible to crush or cut hard objects such as concrete and rock by rotating the cutter drum. Therefore, for example, in the diaphragm wall method, it is attached to an excavation heavy machine for forming a vertical groove for cutting the concrete at the joint part between the preceding element and the succeeding element, and is used as a device that enables concrete cutting (see, for example, Patent Document 1 and Patent Document 2).

[0003] In addition, since a drum cutter can cut hard objects such as concrete and rock, a technique has also been developed in which the drum cutter is preferably attached to the tip part of the arm part of a backhoe heavy machine as an attachment instead of the bucket provided, and the drum cutter is used by attaching it to the tip part of the arm part (see, for example, Patent Document 3). As a result, the drum cutter can be used as a device for cutting, for example, a concrete structure or a paved surface to perform surface treatment.

[0005] On the other hand, when a drum cutter is attached as an attachment to the tip of the arm of a backhoe to cut concrete structures, pavement, etc., a large amount of dust and flying stones are generated, so measures are needed to prevent these dusts from scattering into the surrounding area. Possible measures include watering or installing a dust net, but watering incurs costs and effort in securing water and installing water supply equipment, and installing a dust net requires moving the dust net each time the cutting progresses. For these reasons, there is a need to develop a technology that can more easily and efficiently prevent dust and flying stones generated when cutting hard objects with a drum cutter attached to the tip of the arm of a backhoe from scattering into the surrounding area, and preferably also collect these dusts.

[0006] The present invention aims to provide a dust collection cover for a drum cutter that can easily and efficiently prevent dust generated when cutting hard objects with a drum cutter attached to the tip of the arm of a backhoe from scattering into the surroundings, and can also collect such dust. [Means for solving the problem]

[0007] The present invention relates to a dust collection cover body for a drum cutter, which is attached to the tip of the arm of a backhoe, replacing a bucket, and is formed by covering and joining a pair of cutting rotary drums to collect dust during cutting. The drum cutter is rotatably connected and supported to the tip of the arm of the backhoe, and includes a mounting base portion on which a rotary drive shaft is rotatably attached to a bearing portion at the tip side, and a pair of cutting rotary drums, each with multiple cutting pigs protruding from its outer circumference, are integrally fixed to the rotary drive shaft at portions extending from the bearing portion on both sides of the mounting base portion. The dust collection cover body for the drum cutter includes a pair of support rod portions fixed to the mounting base portion above the cutting rotary drums, and a pair of cover bodies supported by the support rod portions and positioned to cover at least the upper half portion of each of the cutting rotary drums, and the pair of support rods are arranged parallel to the rotary drive shaft and attached to the front and rear sides of the mounting base portion, respectively. Both end faces are fixed with male threaded bolt members protruding, and each cover body has a hollow, semicircular box shape, with an upper cover portion having a semicircular curved shape concentric with the rotation drive shaft and positioned along the upper outer circumference of the pair of cutting rotary drums, spaced apart from them, and a side cover portion having its peripheral edge joined to the upper cover portion and positioned along the outer side surface of the pair of cutting rotary drums, spaced apart from them, and a suction connection port is provided protruding outward from the upper cover portion. Furthermore, each of the cover bodies has a cover body joining plate portion that extends along the outer peripheral edge of the side cover portion arranged along the outer side portion, and has a curved strip shape that protrudes radially outward, and the cover body joining plate portion has a curved fastening guide elongated hole that curves in an arc shape concentric with the rotation drive shaft along the curved shape of the upper cover portion, and a pair of support rods fixed to the front and rear sides of the mounting base portion are connected to the curved fastening guide elongated hole of the cover body joining plate portion,The above objective is achieved by providing a dust collection cover for a drum cutter in which the cover body is integrally joined to the mounting base via the support rod by fastening the male threaded bolt members protruding from each end face using a nut member, and the inclination angle of the lower end opening surface of the cover body can be adjusted by adjusting the position in which the male threaded bolt members are fastened in the curved fastening guide elongated hole.

[0008] Furthermore, in the dust collection cover body for a drum cutter of the present invention, the cover body joining plate portion has two rows of curved fastening guide elongated holes that curve in an arc shape along the curved shape of the upper cover portion, with different radial spacings from the rotation drive shaft, and two male screw bolt members are fixed to each end face portion on both sides of the support rod, with different radial spacings from the rotation drive shaft, and the cover body is joined integrally to the mounting base portion via the support rod by fastening the two male screw bolt members to the two rows of curved fastening guide elongated holes using nut members, and it is preferable that the inclination angle of the lower end opening surface of the cover body can be adjusted by adjusting the position in which each male screw bolt member is fastened in each of the curved fastening guide elongated holes.

[0009] Furthermore, it is preferable that the dust collection cover body for drum cutters of the present invention has the suction connection port positioned upstream of the circumferential central portion of the upper cover portion in the direction of rotation of the cutting rotary drum, and protruding from it.

[0010] Furthermore, it is preferable that the dust collection cover body for a drum cutter of the present invention has a brush material attached to the peripheral edge of the lower end opening surface of the cover body, extending over its entire circumference, consisting of a flexible plate material or a number of wires made of synthetic resin or metal, beyond the edge of the rotational trajectory of the cutting rotary drum. [Effects of the Invention]

[0011] The dust collection cover body for drum cutters of the present invention makes it possible to easily and efficiently prevent dust generated when cutting hard workpieces with a drum cutter attached to the tip of the arm of a backhoe from scattering into the surroundings, and also collects this dust. [Brief explanation of the drawing]

[Figure 2] This is a side view illustrating a dust collection cover for a drum cutter according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. [Figure 3] This is a perspective view illustrating a dust collection cover for a drum cutter according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. [Figure 4] This is a front view showing the cover body in a transparent state, illustrating a dust collection cover body for a drum cutter according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. [Figure 5] (a) and (b) are side views showing the cover body as seen through, illustrating the process of adjusting the inclination angle of the lower end opening surface of the cover body. [Modes for carrying out the invention]

[0013] A dust collection cover body 10 for a drum cutter according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention is used in a backhoe heavy machine 30 in which a drum cutter 20 is attached as an attachment to the tip portion 31a of an arm portion 31 in place of a bucket, as shown in Figure 1. The cover body is positioned to cover a pair of cutting rotary drums 21 that constitute the drum cutter 20 attached to the tip portion 31a of the arm portion 31, and is used to prevent dust and flying stones generated when the drum cutter 20 cuts hard objects such as concrete structures or pavement surfaces from scattering into the surroundings, and preferably to suck up and collect the generated dust.

[0014] In this embodiment, the pair of cutting rotary drums 21 (see Figure 4) constituting the drum cutter 20 are known cutting devices, each having, for example, a flat disc-shaped drum portion 21a from which numerous cutting picks 22 embedded with carbide tips protrude (see Figures 5(a) and (b)). This allows for the crushing and cutting of hard cutting targets such as concrete and rock by rotating the cutting rotary drums 21 and using the numerous cutting picks 22. By using the drum cutter 20 as an attachment for the backhoe heavy machinery 30, it becomes possible to cut hard cutting targets such as concrete structures and pavement surfaces, and to perform surface treatments on them. However, it is necessary to prevent the scattering of large amounts of dust and debris generated during cutting, such as flying stones. As a measure to prevent such scattering, the drum cutter dust collection cover body 10 of this embodiment is attached to cover the cutting rotary drums 21 of the drum cutter 20 and used in this manner.

[0015] The dust collection cover body 10 for the drum cutter in this embodiment, as shown in Figure 1, is a cover body for the drum cutter 20 that is attached to the tip of the arm portion of a backhoe heavy machine in place of a bucket, and covers and joins a pair of cutting rotary drums 21 (see Figure 4) that constitute the drum cutter 20, and is configured to suck up and collect dust during cutting. The drum cutter 20, as shown in Figures 2 to 4, is rotatably connected and supported to the tip portion 31a of the arm portion 31 of the backhoe heavy machine 30 (see Figure 1), and includes a mounting base portion 25 to which a rotary drive shaft 26 is rotatably attached to a bearing portion 25a (see Figure 4) on the tip side, and a pair of cutting rotary drums 21, each with multiple cutting pigs 22 protruding from its outer circumference, which are integrally fixed to the rotary drive shafts 26 in portions that extend outwards on both sides from the bearing portion 25a of the mounting base portion 25.

[0016] The dust collection cover body 10 for the drum cutter is composed of a pair of support rod portions 15 (see Figures 3 and 4) fixed to the mounting base portion 25 above the cutting rotary drum 21, and a pair of cover bodies 11 supported by the support rod portions 15 and positioned to cover at least the upper half of each cutting rotary drum 21. The pair of support rods 15 are arranged parallel to the rotary drive shaft 26 (see Figure 4) and are attached to the front and rear sides of the mounting base portion 25, respectively (see Figure 2), and male screw bolt members 16 are fixed to the end faces 15a on both sides with protruding.

[0017] Each cover body 11 has a hollow, semicircular box shape, comprising an upper cover portion 12 that is curved in a semicircular shape concentric with the rotary drive shaft 26 and positioned along the upper outer circumference of the pair of cutting rotary drums 21, spaced apart from each other, and a side cover portion 13 that is joined to the upper cover portion 12 and positioned along the outer side surface of the pair of cutting rotary drums 21, spaced apart from each other. A suction connection port 14 (see Figure 3) is provided protruding outward from the upper cover portion 12. Furthermore, a cover body joining plate portion 17, which has a curved strip shape, is integrally attached to each cover body 11, extending along the outer peripheral edge of the side cover portion 13 positioned along the outer side surface, and protruding radially outward. Curved fastening guide elongated holes 18a and 18b are formed in this cover body joining plate portion 17, which curve in an arc shape concentric with the rotary drive shaft 26, following the curved shape of the upper cover portion 12 (see Figure 2).

[0018] By fastening male screw bolt members 16 protruding from respective end face portions 15a of a pair of support rods 15 fixed to the front side and the rear side of the mounting base portion 25 to the curved fastening guide long holes 18a, 18b of the cover body joining plate portion 17 using nut members 16a, the cover body 11 is integrally joined to the mounting base portion 25 via the support rods 15. Moreover, by adjusting the positions where the male screw bolt members 16 are fastened in the curved fastening guide long holes 18a, 18b, the inclination angle of the lower end opening surface 11a of the cover body 11 can be adjusted (see FIGS. 5(a) and (b)).

[0019] Also, in the present embodiment, preferably, the cover body joining plate portion 17 has curved fastening guide long holes 18a, 18b that are curved in an arc shape along the curved shape of the upper surface cover portion 12, and are formed in two rows with different radial intervals from the rotation drive shaft 26. On both end face portions 15a on both sides of the support rod 15, two fixed male screw bolt members 16 are respectively fixed with different radial intervals from the rotation drive shaft 26 (see FIG. 2). By fastening the two fixed male screw bolt members 16 to the two rows of curved fastening guide long holes 18a, 18b using nut members 16a respectively, the cover body 11 is integrally joined to the mounting base portion 25 via the support rods 15. Moreover, by adjusting the positions where the respective male screw bolt members 16 are fastened in the respective curved fastening guide long holes 18a, 18b, the inclination angle of the lower end opening surface 11a of the cover body 11 can be adjusted (see FIGS. 5(a) and (b)).

[0020] Furthermore, in the present embodiment, preferably, on the peripheral portion of the lower end opening surface 11a of the cover body 11, a brush material 19 made of a flexible plate material, or a large number of wire materials made of synthetic resin or metal is attached in a state of extending beyond the edge portion of the rotation locus of the cutting rotary drum 21 over the entire circumference thereof (see FIGS. 5(a) and (b)).

[0021] In this embodiment, the backhoe heavy machine 30 is a heavy machine widely used as a self-propelled excavator, preferably with a bucket attached as an attachment to the tip of the arm portion 31. The backhoe heavy machine 30 can be used for purposes other than excavation by attaching attachments other than the bucket in an interchangeable manner. In this embodiment, as shown in Figure 1, by attaching the drum cutter 20 to the tip portion 31a of the arm portion 31, it is possible to cut hard materials such as concrete structures and pavement surfaces, and use it as a heavy machine capable of surface treatment of these materials.

[0022] The drum cutter 20 attached to the tip portion 31a of the arm portion 31 of the backhoe heavy machine 30 can be any known drum cutter, comprising a mounting base portion 25 and a pair of cutting rotary drums 21. More specifically, as such a drum cutter 20, preferably the commercially available "DC Drum Cutter" manufactured by Atlas Copco Corporation can be used. As shown in Figure 4, the mounting base portion 25 of the drum cutter 20 is equipped with a rotational drive mechanism inside, and a bearing portion 25a is provided at the lower tip portion for rotatably supporting the rotational drive shaft 26. A pair of cutting rotary drums 21 are integrally joined to the portions of the rotational drive shaft 26 that protrude from both sides of the bearing portion 25a, and these cutting rotary drums 21 can rotate at a predetermined rotational speed by the driving force of the rotational drive mechanism. As described above, the pair of cutting rotary drums 21 have a structure in which a plurality of cutting pigs 22 protrude from the outer circumference.

[0023] Furthermore, in this embodiment, a pair of steel support rods 15, which constitute the dust collection cover body 10 and are arranged on the front and rear sides of the mounting base 25, are fixed to the upper base portion of the bearing portion 25a of the mounting base 25, parallel to the central axis of the rotary drive shaft 26, and protrude slightly beyond the side ends of the pair of cutting rotary drums 21, and are fixed to the portion above the cutting rotary drums 21, for example by bolt connections. Preferably, two male screw bolt members 16 are fixed to each end face portion 15a of the pair of support rods 15, protruding perpendicularly from the end face portion 15a by welding or the like, with different radial distances from the central axis of the rotary drive shaft 26.

[0024] The cover body 11, which together with the pair of support rods 15 constitutes the dust collection cover body 10 for the drum cutter, is formed from, for example, a thin sheet of steel about 3 mm thick. As shown in Figures 2 and 3, it has a hollow, semicircular box shape, and is attached to both sides of the mounting base 25, sandwiching the bearing portion 25a of the mounting base 25, which is spaced apart from the pair of cutting rotary drums 21 and positioned along the upper outer circumference of the drums, and has a semicircular shape that is curved concentrically with the rotary drive shaft 26. It also has a side cover portion 13, which is joined to the outer side edge of each upper cover portion 12 on the side opposite to the bearing portion 25a of the pair of cutting rotary drums 21 and is positioned spaced apart from the pair of cutting rotary drums 21 and positioned along the outer side surface of the drums. A suction connection port 14 (see Figure 3) is provided on the outer circumferential surface of the top cover portion 12, protruding outward from it. The cover body joining plate portion 17 extends along the outer circumferential edge of the side cover portion 13, extending radially outward from the outer edge of the top cover portion 12, and is attached integrally with it.

[0025] The suction connection port 14 is a hollow cylindrical component that communicates with the internal space of the cover body 11, and is preferably positioned upstream of the circumferential central portion of the upper cover portion 12 in the direction of rotation of the cutting rotary drum 21, and is provided protruding from it. This makes it possible to efficiently suck up and collect dust generated from the workpiece being cut as the cutting rotary drum 21 rotates. A suction pipe extending from a dust collector (not shown) is connected to the suction connection port 14, and the sucked-up dust can be discharged toward the dust collector for dust collection.

[0026] The cover body joining plate portion 17 is a steel portion having a strip shape that curves along the outer peripheral edge of the side cover portion 13. As shown in Figure 2, the cover body joining plate portion 17 has two rows of curved fastening guide slots 18a and 18b that curve in an arc shape concentric with the rotary drive shaft 26 along the curved shape of the upper cover portion 12, preferably with different radial spacings from the rotary drive shaft 26. Two fixing male screw bolt members 16 are fastened to these preferably two rows of curved fastening guide slots 18a and 18b using nut members 16a, thereby joining the cover body 11 integrally to the mounting base portion 25 via the support rod 15. Furthermore, as described above, by adjusting the position in which each male screw bolt member 16 is fastened in each of the curved fastening guide slots 18a and 18b, the inclination angle of the lower end opening surface 11a of the cover body 11 can be adjusted, as shown in Figures 5(a) and (b).

[0027] Furthermore, in this embodiment, as described above, preferably, a brush material 19 made of a flexible plate or a number of wires made of synthetic resin or metal is attached to the peripheral edge of the lower end opening surface 11a of the cover body 11, extending beyond the edge of the rotation trajectory of the cutting rotary drum 21 (see Figures 5(a) and (b)). This prevents dust and flying stones generated when the cutting rotary drum 21 of the drum cutter 20 cuts hard objects such as concrete structures or pavement surfaces from leaking out through the gap between the lower end opening surface 11a of the cover body 11 and the object to be cut, thereby more effectively preventing the scattering of dust and making it possible to collect dust and other particles more efficiently through the suction connection port 14.

[0028] As a result, the drum cutter dust collection cover body 10 of this embodiment makes it possible to easily and efficiently prevent dust generated when cutting hard cutting objects, such as concrete structures or pavement surfaces, with the drum cutter 20 attached to the tip portion 31a of the arm portion 31 of the backhoe heavy machine 30 from scattering into the surroundings, and also makes it possible to smoothly collect this dust through the suction connection port 14.

[0029] Furthermore, according to this embodiment, the inclination angle of the lower end opening surface 11a of the cover body 11 can be adjusted by adjusting the position in which the respective male screw bolt members 16 are fastened in the curved fastening guide elongated holes 18a and 18b of the cover body joining plate portion 17. For example, when operating the arm portion of a backhoe heavy machine 30 to cut an inclined surface of a concrete structure, the inclination angle of the lower end opening surface 11a can be adjusted to match the inclination of the inclined surface, making it possible to cut such inclined objects while preventing the scattering of dust and other particles.

[0030] It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to the above embodiments and can be modified in various ways. For example, the curved fastening guide elongated holes in the cover body joining plate do not necessarily need to be formed in two rows at different radial distances from the rotation drive shaft; they may be formed in only one row. Similarly, two male screw bolt members do not necessarily need to be fixed to each end face portion of the support rod at different radial distances from the rotation drive shaft; they may each have only two male screw bolt members fixed to them.
