Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present technology relates to a system for collecting and transporting processed spent materials, as well as a method for using sorted and processed spent materials in connection with collection, transportation, and weighing. The present technology relates to optimizing the processing, collection, and transportation of various types of processed spent materials, and can create or control the relationship between users / customers and entities that facilitate and execute management services for processing, collection, and transportation, in order to optimize sorting, processing, collection, transportation, distribution, conveyance, and / or sale associated with spent material management.

Background Art

[0002] Spent material collection systems in residences and other locations either collect mixed streams of spent materials, which are sometimes referred to as recyclable, or focus on single-material streams. The materials they typically collect are contaminated by labels, neck rings, container lids, food residues, and other contaminants. These spent materials are generally transported to material recovery facilities where they are sorted, washed, and processed, with variable and fairly limited outcomes.

[0003] Currently, the collection of spent materials at residences is carried out on scheduled dates, which rarely optimizes the management of collection and transport vehicles. This is because most containers designated for a given collection time are not filled to capacity, which causes losses in conveyance that would be minimized if the containers were emptied only when completely full.

[0004] For current spent material collection systems and methods, there are further disadvantages in that these systems do not weigh each sorted and processed spent material separately to account for accurate data per user / customer.

[0005] Current systems and methods for collecting used materials, even if they fulfill their collection functions, still incur significant costs because they do not optimize management of collection, transportation, unloading, and recovery of potential resources. Additionally, these systems and methods do not provide a central data system for tracking the amount of used materials collected per user / customer, and therefore cannot provide customers with data on the collection, processing, and movement of used materials for use in any reimbursement or subsidy programs.

[0006] There is a need for a system and method for moving regenerative waste obtained by collecting and processing new, novel used materials, which can be used to measure the weight of the separated regenerative waste. In this regard, this technology substantially satisfies this need. In this respect, the system and method for moving regenerative waste obtained by collecting and processing used materials according to this technology differs significantly from the conventional concepts and designs of the prior art, thereby providing an apparatus primarily developed for the collection, processing, storage, movement, and weight measurement of separated regenerative waste. [Overview of the project] [Problems that the invention aims to solve]

[0007] Given the aforementioned disadvantages inherent in known types of spent material, recycling, and waste collection or waste management systems, this technology provides a system and method for moving recycled waste products obtained by collecting and processing new spent materials, and overcomes one or more of the disadvantages and drawbacks of the prior art mentioned.

[0008] Thus, the overall goal of this technology, as will be described in more detail below, is to provide a new, novel system and method for transporting regenerative waste obtained by accumulating and processing spent materials. It has all the advantages of the prior art described above, and many novel features that bring about a system and method for transporting regenerative waste obtained by accumulating and processing spent materials, either individually or in any combination thereof, that have not been predicted, explicitly expressed, proposed, or even implied by the prior art. [Means for solving the problem]

[0009] In one embodiment, the technology may include a production storage container (PSC) for recycled waste obtained by accumulating and processing spent materials, a production accumulation interface (PCI), a production transfer module (PTM), and a large production holding unit (BPHU). This executable program comprises an execution command by at least one processing unit for managing a collection or movement system for the resulting reprocessed output or contents. This command, when executed by at least one processing unit, causes at least one processing unit to receive a collection request or movement request from a graphical user interface associated with the equipment or electronic device of a storage container for reprocessed output obtained by collecting and processing used materials. Next, a product collection vehicle (PCV) is sent to a location associated with the collection request or movement request. Next, it is confirmed that the location information received from the product storage container (PSC) matches the location information in the collection request or movement request. Next, the resulting reprocessed output or contents are weighed after being received from the product storage container (PSC) and before they are moved into a large product holding unit (BPHU). Next, weight data associated with the resulting reprocessed output or contents is generated and provided to a control center or electronic device.

[0045] The same reference number refers to the same part across various drawings.

[0046] In the following description, certain details, including specific embodiments, procedures, and techniques, are described for illustrative purposes only and not limiting, in order to provide a complete understanding of the Art. However, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the Art can be carried out in other embodiments separate from these specific details.

[0047] Next, referring in detail to the drawings, specifically Figures 1 to 11, embodiments of the spent material collection or transfer system and method of the present technology are shown and are collectively designated by reference numeral 10.

[0048] The terms used herein, Product Storage Container (PSC), can be described as a unit that is moved to a curbside or other location to separate and store multiple different types of contents that are individually separated and processed by equipment, and to accumulate them as contents inside the PSC.

[0049] As used herein, the terms "product transfer module (PTM)" are attached to a large product holding unit (BPHU) and control the transfer of separated re-production products or contents from multiple product storage containers (PSCs) to multiple containers in the large product holding unit (BPHU) that match the contents.

[0050] As used herein, the term "Production Accumulation Interface (PCI)" may refer to a surface attached to a Production Transfer Module (PTM), which is transported by a Production Accumulation Vehicle (PCV) directly connected to the PSC, thereby facilitating the transfer of the resulting re-produced output or contents to one or more compartments in a Large Production Holding Unit (BPHU) via the Production Transfer Module (PTM).

[0051] As used herein, the term Large Product Holding Unit (BPHU) may refer to an individual container used to hold the flow of the resulting re-produced output or contents from the PSC. The PTM is instructed to weigh the resulting re-produced output or contents before releasing them into individual compartments of the Large Product Holding Unit (BPHU) within the Product Collection Vehicle (PCV).

[0052] Figures 1 and 2 illustrate and describe a new, novel spent material collection or transfer system and method 10 in this technology for collecting or moving and weighing the separated re-produced waste or contents. Generally, the spent material collection or transfer system and method 10 comprises a PSC 12, a recycling facility 30, and a collection vehicle 40. This technology relates to a system and method for collecting or moving multiple streams of separated re-produced waste or contents that have already been cleaned, processed, and stored in the PSC 12, and left somewhere outside the curb of a sidewalk, or outside a customer's residence or other location. Customer locations include, but are not limited to, private homes, offices, shopping malls, airports, train stations, educational institutions, entertainment venues, sports facilities, public spaces, factories, warehouses, construction sites, and hospitals. Keeping each stream of the resulting re-produced waste or contents clean is important in maintaining the value of the resulting re-produced waste or contents and in ensuring its suitability for closed-loop recycling.

[0053] System 10 includes an output accumulation module (PCM) 50, which is connected to an output accumulation vehicle (PCV) 40. The output accumulation module (PCM) incorporates an end effector, which captures and lifts the PSC and positions it precisely relative to the output accumulation interface (PCI), which is a subassembly of the output transfer module (PTM) 46. The vehicle 40 includes large output holding units (BPHUs) 42 for each recycled material.

[0054] The user removes the PSC12 from the facility 30, which may be located in a residence or other location, and places it near a street or in a location accessible by a vehicle 40. The facility 30 may include an internal cavity configured to receive one or more PSC12s. The facility 30 may include an opening defined on the upper side of the facility 30 so that the resulting re-produced output or contents can be placed in a separate bay or compartment of the PSC12.

[0055] Vehicle 40 may include a recessed section 48 configured to receive an output accumulation module (PCM) 50. PCI 44 may include a door or opening and be configured to match and align with the door or opening of the PSC 12. When the output accumulation module (PCM) 50 is received into the recessed section 48, vehicle 40 becomes a movable configuration such that no components protrude from the vehicle, or only limited components protrude. When the PSC 12 is pushed up, as best illustrated in Figure 2, the output accumulation module (PCM) 50 is pivoted and extended so that it can be securely engaged with the PSC 12 and lifted up to PCI 44, which is part of PTM 46.

[0056] The product collection module (PCM) 50 can be a pivot mechanism mounted on the product collection vehicle (PCV) 40 via a hinged mounting or attachment 52. The arm 50 can be pivoted relative to the mounting or attachment 52 using a first motion device 54. The end effector 60 is located at the other end of the product collection module (PCM) 50 and includes a mechanism for capturing and holding the product storage container 12. The end effector 60 can be a gripper having an arm, or a gripper having a plate 60 with a hook pivotably or fixedly connected to the product collection module (PCM) 50. The end effector 60 may include additional motion devices 56 configured to rotate, extend, slide, or pivot the product collection module (PCM) or the end effector 60. The motion devices 54, 56 can be a motor system, a hydraulic system, a mechanical interlocking system, or a combination thereof.

[0057] Referring to Figure 3, the PSC 12 may include a housing with a peripheral surface or edge 14 that is flat or extends from the top of the PSC 12. The surface or edge 14 can be sized to accommodate the recess or shape required by the PCI 44. The PSC 12 may define a single or multiple internal compartments through an openable bay door 20 that can receive and store the resulting reprocessed output or contents. Alternatively, the PSC 12 may include multiple compartments 16, each containing an openable bay door 20 and separated by internal baffles or walls 24. The PSC may further include radio frequency identification (RFID) tags, sensors, sensor actuators, or transmitters 26 associated with the PSC or each of the components 16. It should be understood that any number of components, doors, and tags may be present.

[0058] Referring to Figures 4 and 5, the Product Accumulation Module (PCM) receives the PSC and positions the PSC relative to the PCI such that the door or opening of the PSC12 aligns with the door or opening of the PCI44. The PCM end effector 60 is configured to securely position and lock the PSC12, thereby allowing the PCM 50 to raise the PSC12 from the ground to a high pivot position.

[0059] The PCM end effector 60 utilizes a locking mechanism that engages with the PSC 12. This mechanism can take the form of an electromagnetic, mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical system, and pulls the PSC 12 to precisely align with the PCM end effector 60 before locking into place.

[0060] Referring to Figure 6, once the PSC12 is fixed to the PCM end effector 60, the PCM50 can be activated to raise the PSC12 and pivot it into the PCI44. In this position, the contents 2 of the PSC12 can be discharged from the PSC12 and placed into the internal storage compartment 43 of the product transfer module (PTM) 46. The PTM46 can be defined as a single or multiple storage compartments, and it should be understood that each compartment is configured to receive the resulting re-produced output or contents 2 from one of the compartments 16 of the PSC12.

[0061] By connecting the PSC12 to the PCI44 via a gasket system, it is possible to ensure that no foreign contaminants are present in the flow of the resulting re-produced waste or contents while the re-produced waste or contents are being moved from the PSC12 to the internal storage compartment 43 of the product transfer module (PTM)46.

[0062] The PCM end effector 60 can activate the storage bay door 20 in the PSC 12, thereby opening the storage bay door 20 and releasing the stored contents 2. In this example, the PCM end effector 60 can be electrically connected to the PSC 12 and use a motor system 22 housed within the PCM 60 to activate the bay door 20. It should be understood that the bay door 20 can be activated in several other ways, but not limited to, a mechanical connection between the PCM end effector 60 and the PSC 12, such as a connection that activates the bay door 20 when it makes contact with PCI 44.

[0063] Preferably, one side of the PSC 12 adjacent transversely to the bay door 20 may include an angled surface configured to facilitate the flow of the resulting re-produced output or contents 2 from the PSC 12 toward the bay door 20 and into the internal storage compartment 43 of the output transfer module (PTM) 46.

[0064] One or more air nozzles 75 can be associated with the product transfer module (PTM) 46 and / or PCI 44 to blast air into the compartment 16, assisting in the removal of all remaining contents 2 or in the forced removal of the resulting re-produced output or contents 2 from the compartment 16.

[0065] The discharge end 76 may include, but is not limited to, a flap or rotating surface 80 configured to receive the resulting re-produced output or contents 2 into the vertical section of the PTM 46. The rotating surface 80 or a portion of the discharge end 76 may include a load or weight sensor 78 configured to determine the weight of the resulting re-produced output or contents 2 while it is in the internal storage compartment 43 of the output transfer module (PTM) 46.

[0066] Referring to Figure 7, when weighing the contents 2, the rotating surface or flap 80 can be pivoted or moved so that the resulting re-produced output or contents 2 inside enters the appropriate large output holding unit (BPHU) 42. It should be understood that the weight sensor 78 can be positioned on the rotating surface or flap 80, and that the weight sensor 78 can be a load sensor associated with the pivoting surface or rotating surface or flap and configured to provide information that can calculate the weight of the resulting re-produced output or contents 2.

[0067] PCI44 may include an RFID reader 112 configured to read the RFID tag 126 of PSC12. It should be understood that any other suitable contact-based or wireless communication system may be used between PSC12 and PTM46 or vehicle 40.

[0068] Referring to Figures 8A and 8B, an alternative embodiment of the PCM end effector utilizes eccentric mechanical motion to capture the PSC12 and align it with the PCM end effector 60. In this exemplary embodiment, the PCM end effector 60 may include a pair of forks or arms 62 that are spaced apart and configured to receive the PSC12 between them. The space between the arms 62 can be adjustable or fixed in contact with the underside of the edge 14 of the PSC12, thereby allowing the arms 62 to raise the PSC12 from the ground to a high pivot position.

[0069] The arm 62, or the crossbeam of the PCM end effector 60 to which the arm 62 is connected, may include a locking mechanism 64 that can engage with a pin 28 of the PSC 12. In one example, the locking mechanism 64 may be a rotatable hook that engages with the pin 28 and is configured to pull the PSC 12 toward the PSM 60 before locking into place. This hook can be rotated by a motor 66, a hydraulic system, or a mechanical interlock that rotates the hook during forward or reverse movement to contact the PCM 60.

[0070] Referring to Figures 9 and 10, a common software application can be associated with and / or executed by an electronic computing device, machine or system 4, and / or integrated vehicle (PCV) 40. Figure 9 shows an example of possible components that can be used to implement the operation and / or functions of this technology, associated with the PSC 12, integrated vehicle 40, electronic device 4, and control center 130.

[0071] The integrated vehicle 40 may include a computer system 100 that includes a processing unit 102. At least one RAM and / or at least one non-volatile long-term memory 104 may be operably connected to or can be made connectable to the processing unit 102. Such media may include, but are not limited to, hard disks, floppy disks, flash memory cards, digital video disks, random access memory (RAM), and read-only memory (ROM). Examples of embodiments described herein may be implemented in an operating environment with software installed on a computer, hardware, or a combination of software and hardware.

[0087] Refer to Figure 11 for a typical and exemplary way of utilizing this technology. It should be understood that during use, the user / customer initiates an aggregation request by placing an on-demand request for aggregation via the equipment or software applications, PSCs, and / or electronic devices associated with the equipment. It should be understood that the software application may include a GUI that provides selectable options or affordances, and / or an input area that allows the user / customer to provide aggregation requests or other information to the control center.

[0088] The control center can receive the collection request and then issue a dispatch command to the collection vehicle. The customer releases the PSC from the main equipment and rolls or transports the PSC to the curb side of the sidewalk for collection preparation.

[0089] The collection vehicle arrives and positions itself appropriately with respect to the PSC. Upon arrival, a response confirmation is made between the PSC and the collection vehicle via RFID or other means to verify that the PSC to be collected is the correct unit registered with the main equipment and to confirm the address from which the collection request originated.

[0090] The operator of the consolidation vehicle deploys the PCM and positions the PCM end effector 60 using the articulated joint section with appropriate degrees of freedom for the main causes of variation in terrain and PSC orientation, so as to engage with the PSC. The product transfer module (PTM) then connects to the PSC's computer system.

[0091] Once the PCM end effector engages with the PSC, a locking mechanism is activated from the PCM control unit and connects to the PSC. The locking mechanism first orients the PSC and then locks it in place. In this example, the locking mechanism may be an eccentric hook driven by an electric motor designed to repeatedly pull the PSC onto a pickup arm and center it.

[0092] Once the general PSC is precisely positioned at the PCM end effector, the PCM moves to the designated discharge position, thereby precisely transferring the PSC to the Product Transfer Module (PTM), and more specifically to the Product Accumulation Interface (PCI) located on the side of the product accumulation vehicle.

[0093] The PSC is connected to the Product Accumulation Interface (PCI) via a gasket system to ensure that no foreign contaminants are present in the flow of the resulting re-produced output or contents during its transfer from the PSC to the Large Product Container Unit (BPHU) within the PCV. Furthermore, the Product Transfer Module (PTM) can activate the bay doors of the PSC, opening them to release the stored contents when it comes into contact with the Product Accumulation Interface (PCI) or when the PSC is in a predetermined orientation.

[0094] At the designated or discharge position, the PSC can then discharge its contents into the PTM through the open bay door. This discharge of contents can be achieved by gravity, by the shape of the PSC, and / or by the assistance of blasting air into the PSC through an air nozzle. An angle presentation of the PSC relative to the PCI (greater than 90°) also facilitates the flow of contents from the PSC to the PTM.

[0095] Each content flow moves from the PSC through the PCI, and the content is captured in an Product Transfer Module (PTM). The PTM can consist of several containers (one for each content flow) with a volume larger than that of the individual PSC bays.

[0096] When various contents are captured in their appropriate PTM areas, the flow of contents for each output is measured by weight. This data can then be transmitted to a control center or database, where the weight of the flow of each volume collected from the customer is stored.

[0097] Once the contents are weighed, the release mechanism within the PTM is activated, and the contents are moved to individual compartments within the Large Product Holding Unit (BPHU) in the Product Collection Vehicle (PCV).

[0098] Subsequently, the PSC's bay doors are closed via the same system used to initially open them, and the PCM returns the PSC to the curb side of the walkway. The PCM end effector releases the locking mechanism, and the PCM retracts from the PSC, freeing the PSC from the PCM. The PCM then moves to a pre-set travel position, allowing the accumulating vehicle to move to the next dwelling.

[0099] Further transmission from the integrating vehicle can notify the customer that integrating has been completed via the main equipment or software application, allowing the PSC to be re-inserted into the main equipment. Additionally, an integrating alarm or notification can be sent to an electronic device to inform the user / customer that the integrating operation has been completed and that the PSC is ready for use.

[0100] Please understand that the control center can further inform users / customers about the accumulation or provide weight data for all contents accumulated from the PSC. This weight data can then be used for recycling reimbursement or government grant programs. Furthermore, the control center can share this weight data on social media platforms where multiple users / customers can see the total weight of each user / customer's accumulated contents. This will encourage users / customers to rank their significance and promote material recycling.

[0101] In system administration, by extracting data received from the PSC: Data, time, and address information of aggregated requests provided from the GUI of equipment, PSC, and / or electronic devices; When the collection was carried out, the data, time, and residence information from the collection vehicle, the weight of contents from each section of the PSC, and / or the total weight of all contents from the PSC; and When collection is carried out using several empty bottle collection laws or deposit return plans for sorting containers, data, time, and address information from collection vehicles are collected. You can obtain this.

[0102] From the perspective of monitoring information, the GUI is: Enter an aggregation request; Display the date and time of aggregation; To notify that accumulation is imminent before it actually occurs; Display the location of the consolidating vehicles and their estimated arrival times on a map; PSC filling rate, or filling history of each section of the PSC; Battery status of batteries associated with the equipment and / or PSC; The total weight of the contents of each accumulated compartment; and Contents weight history, and / or aggregation request, We can provide this.

[0103] In some or all embodiments, the bay doors of the PSC can be opened simultaneously, thereby allowing all different, separated contents to be captured and weighed at the same time. In some or all embodiments, the bay doors of the PSC can be opened simultaneously, thereby allowing the contents to be collected sequentially.
