Summary of the Invention

Problems to be Solved by the Invention

[0005] By the way, at a renovation site, when the cover member is attached to the surface of the new frame, depending on the on-site fitting condition, the side portion of the existing frame where the cover member is not attached may be visible from the outer wall surface side. In this case, the designability may be impaired. In addition, the extent of the portion visible from the outer wall surface side varies depending on various on-site fitting conditions with different wall thicknesses. Therefore, it is required to be able to improve the designability in response to various on-site situations.

[0006] An object of the present disclosure is to provide a retrofit fitting that can improve designability in response to various on-site situations.

[0009] The embodiments of this disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings. The remodeling joinery 1 according to this embodiment is a remodeling joinery for renovation in which a new frame 3 is attached to the existing frame 2 while the existing frame 2 is attached to an opening in the building structure 100.

[0010] In this specification, the depth direction is the direction along the interior-exterior direction of the remodeled joinery 1. The face direction is the direction along the surface direction of the facing material of the remodeled joinery 1, and is perpendicular to the depth direction. In the drawings, the exterior side of the remodeled joinery 1 is referred to as "exterior side X1," and the interior side of the remodeled joinery 1 is referred to as "interior side X2." The horizontal direction when the remodeled joinery 1 is viewed from the front is referred to as "left and right." The direction toward the center of the remodeled joinery 1 when the remodeled joinery 1 is viewed from the front is referred to as "inward," and the direction away from the center of the remodeled joinery 1 is referred to as "outward."

[0011] The remodeled window 1 shown in this embodiment is a sliding window type remodeled sash fitted into an opening in a wooden building frame 100. The remodeled window 1 comprises an existing frame 2, a new frame 3, two sashes 41 and 42, and one screen door 43. The existing frame 2 is installed around the top, bottom, left, and right sides of the opening in the building frame 100. The new frame 3 is installed around the top, bottom, left, and right sides of the inner circumference of the existing frame 2. The sashes 41 and 42 and the screen door 43 are fitted inside the new frame 3 so as to be slidable in the left and right directions. As shown in Figure 1, a crescent lock 44 is attached to the sash 41 located on the interior side X2. Drainage openings 329 for draining rainwater that flows into the lower frame are provided at both the left and right ends of the visible surface on the exterior side X1 of the lower frame portion. In Figure 1, the screen door 43 is not shown.

[0012] As shown in Figures 2 and 3, the existing frame 2 is formed by assembling four frame members—an existing upper frame 21, an existing lower frame 22, and a pair of existing vertical frames 23—into a rectangular shape, and is installed on the inside of the opening in the building structure 100 before renovation. The existing upper frame 21, existing lower frame 22, and the pair of existing vertical frames 23 are each made of extruded profiles of metal such as aluminum or resin such as polyvinyl chloride. A frame member 101 is placed on the interior side of the existing frame 2. The frame member 101 is installed around all four sides of the inner circumferential surface of the opening in the building structure 100, extending inward from the end face 2a of the interior side X2 of the existing frame 2. The gap between the four-sided assembled existing frame 2 and the exterior wall material 102 provided on the exterior side X1 of the building structure 100 is sealed around all four sides with a backup material 103 and a sealing material 104.

[0013] As shown in Figures 2 and 4, the existing upper frame 21 is positioned above the opening in the building structure 100 and fixed in a position offset to the exterior side X1 of the opening. The existing upper frame 21 has a pair of guide rails 211a and 211b for the existing sash and a guide rail 211c for the existing screen door, both projecting downwards.

[0014] As shown in Figures 2 and 5, the existing lower frame 22 is positioned at the bottom of the opening in the building structure 100 and fixed in a position offset to the exterior side X1 of the opening. The existing lower frame 22 has a pair of guide rails 221a and 221b for the existing sash and a guide rail 221c for the existing screen door, both projecting upward. The height of the existing lower frame 22 is formed to gradually decrease from the guide rail 221a on the interior side X2 to the guide rail 221c on the exterior side X1.

[0015] As shown in Figures 3, 6, and 7, the existing vertical frames 23 are positioned vertically on the left and right sides of the opening in the building structure 100 and are fixed in a position that is offset towards the exterior side X1 of the opening.

[0016] The newly installed frame 3 in this embodiment is a dedicated frame specifically formed for the existing frame 2 to correspond to the shape of the existing frame 2. As shown in Figures 2 and 3, the newly installed frame 3 is attached to the inner circumference extending from the existing frame 2 to the frame member 101, with the four frame members—a newly installed upper frame 31, a newly installed lower frame 32, and a pair of newly installed vertical frames 33—pre-assembled into a rectangle on all four sides. Specifically, the newly installed frame 3 is positioned on the inner circumference of the existing frame 2 and the frame member 101 by being brought out from the indoor side X2 to the outdoor side X1 of the opening in the building structure 100, and then pulled back into the indoor side X2. The newly installed frame 3, positioned on the inner circumference of the existing frame 2 and the frame member 101, is fixed to the building structure 100 on the indoor side X2 of the existing frame 2 by fixing members SC1, SC2, and SC3.

[0017] Next, the configurations of the newly constructed upper frame 31, the newly constructed lower frame 32, and the pair of newly constructed vertical frames 33 on the left and right sides of the newly constructed frame 3 will be explained individually.

[0018] First, the new upper frame 31 will be described.

[0019] The new upper frame 31 extends in the left-right direction along the length direction of the existing upper frame 21. The new upper frame 31 has a depth-wise length extending from the guide rail 211c of the existing upper frame 21 to the vicinity of the central portion in the depth direction of the architrave member 101. The new upper frame 31 is divided into two parts in the depth direction, namely an outdoor-side frame member 311 and an indoor-side frame member 312. Both the outdoor-side frame member 311 and the indoor-side frame member 312 are metal frame members, each formed of an extruded profile that is extrusion-molded in the length direction from a metal material such as aluminum. The outdoor-side frame member 311 and the indoor-side frame member 312 are integrally connected by a connecting member 313. The connecting member 313 is made of a member having heat insulating properties such as resin, and blocks heat transfer from the outdoor-side frame member 311 to the indoor-side frame member 312 in the new upper frame 31.

[0020] The new upper frame 31 has a pair of guide rails 314a, 314b for two sliding panels 41, 42 that are housed inside the new frame 3, and a guide rail 314c for a screen door 43 that is housed on the outermost outdoor side X1 of the new frame 3. The guide rails 314b, 314c are disposed on the outdoor-side frame member 311 and protrude downward. The guide rail 314a is disposed adjacent to the connecting member 313 on the indoor-side frame member 312 and protrudes downward. The guide rails 314a, 314b, 314c extend over the entire length of the new upper frame 31 in the length direction.

[0021] As shown in FIG. 4, the outdoor-side frame member 311 has a hollow portion 3111 with a substantially rectangular cross section that extends from the portion where the guide rail 314b is disposed to the connecting member 313. The indoor-side frame member 312 has a hollow portion 3121 with a substantially rectangular cross section that extends from the connecting member 313 toward the indoor side X2. The upper surface 311a of the outdoor-side frame member 311 corresponding to the hollow portion 3111 and the upper surface 312a of the indoor-side frame member 312 corresponding to the hollow portion 3121 are both flat surfaces, and are arranged side by side to be flush with each other in the depth direction of the new upper frame 31. The connecting member 313 does not protrude upward beyond these upper surfaces 311a, 312a.

[0022] The outdoor frame member 311 integrally has an outdoor extension portion 3112 that extends toward the outdoor side X1 at a position lower than the upper surface 311a of the outdoor frame member 311. When the newly installed upper frame 31 is attached to the inner circumference side of the existing upper frame 21, the outdoor extension portion 3112 is the lowest part of the newly installed upper frame 31. The outdoor extension portion 3112 is positioned at the outdoor side X1 end of the newly installed upper frame 31. Specifically, the outdoor extension portion 3112 is positioned between the guide rail 314b and the guide rail 314c. The outdoor extension portion 3112 also serves as a drainage channel that directs rainwater that has seeped into the upper surface of the newly installed upper frame 31 in a left-right direction without allowing it to flow into the indoor side X2.

[0023] An exterior wall portion 315 is integrally provided at the outermost part X1 of the exterior extension portion 3112, extending upward in the visible direction. The exterior wall portion 315 protrudes further upward than the upper surfaces 311a and 312a of the exterior frame member 311 and the interior frame member 312, and is positioned to overlap the exterior side surface 211d of the outermost guide rail 211c of the existing upper frame 21 from the exterior X1. A decorative material 316 made of a metal material such as aluminum is detachably attached to the exterior wall portion 315 from the exterior X1. The decorative material 316 covers the exterior wall portion 315 and extends upward in the visible direction from the existing upper frame 21, forming the visible surface of the exterior X1 of the new upper frame 31. The decorative material 316 covers the sealant 104 that is exposed between the existing upper frame 21 and the exterior wall material 102 from the exterior side X1.

[0024] An elastic fin member 317 is provided on the portion of the upper surface 311a of the outdoor frame member 311 corresponding to the hollow portion 3111 on the outdoor side X1. The fin member 317 protrudes upward from the upper surface 311a of the outdoor frame member 311 so as to be close to the guide rail 211b of the existing upper frame 21. In the newly installed upper frame 31, even if rainwater seeps in between the outdoor wall portion 315 and the guide rail 211c of the existing upper frame 21, it flows in the left-right direction along the outdoor extension portion 3112 and is drained to the outer circumference of the newly installed vertical frame 33, preventing it from seeping into the indoor side X2. Even if a large amount of rainwater seeps into the outdoor extension portion 3112, the fin member 317 prevents it from seeping into the indoor side X2. Since the fin member 317 is elastic, even if the newly installed upper frame 31 comes into contact with the existing upper frame 21 when it is positioned on the inner circumference side of the existing upper frame 21, it can bend elastically and there is no risk of damage.

[0025] A mounting portion 318 for fixing the newly installed upper frame 31 to the building structure 100 is integrally provided at the innermost X2 portion of the newly installed upper frame 31. The mounting portion 318 is positioned parallel to the upper surfaces 311a and 312a of the outdoor frame member 311 and the indoor frame member 312, and extends in a plate-like shape toward the indoor side X2 from the upper part of the end face 312b of the indoor side X2 of the indoor frame member 312.

[0026] The upper surface 318a of the mounting portion 318 is provided with at least one pair of protruding portions 3181 that extend in the longitudinal direction of the newly installed upper frame 31. The pair of protruding portions 3181 project slightly upward from the upper surface 318a of the mounting portion 318 and are arranged parallel to each other with a predetermined distance between them in the depth direction. The position of the upper surface 318a of the mounting portion 318 is positioned slightly below the positions of the upper surfaces 311a and 312a of the outdoor frame member 311 and the indoor frame member 312. The pair of protruding portions 3181 project from the upper surface 318a of the mounting portion 318 to approximately the same height as the positions of the upper surfaces 311a and 312a of the outdoor frame member 311 and the indoor frame member 312.

[0027] In the newly constructed frame 3, which is assembled in a rectangular shape on all four sides, the newly constructed upper frame 31 is positioned on the inner circumference side of the portion extending from the existing upper frame 21 to the frame member 101. The outdoor frame member 311 of the newly constructed upper frame 31 is positioned below the existing upper frame 21. The indoor frame member 312 of the newly constructed upper frame 31 is positioned below the frame member 101. As shown in Figure 4, if a gap is formed between the newly constructed upper frame 31 and the frame member 101, a spacer member 301 is positioned to fill that gap. The spacer member 301 is composed of one or more sheets. The thickness of the sheets constituting the spacer member 301 and the number of layers of sheets are appropriately set according to the size of the gap between the indoor frame member 312 of the newly constructed upper frame 31 and the frame member 101. The upper surface 312a, mounting portion 318, and connecting member 313 of the indoor frame member 312 are in contact with and overlap the spacer member 301. The newly constructed upper frame 31 in the newly assembled four-sided frame 3 is fixed to the building structure 100 on the interior side X2 than the existing upper frame 21 by a screw SC1 that penetrates the mounting portion 318 and the spacer member 301 from the interior side X2. The screw SC1 penetrates between a pair of protruding portions 3181 of the mounting portion 318. The pair of protruding portions 3181 abut against the spacer member 301, suppressing deformation of the mounting portion 318 when the tightening torque of the screw SC1 is applied.

[0028] When the new frame 3 is attached to the inner circumference of the existing frame 2, there are no other members interposed between the existing upper frame 21 and the new upper frame 31 for attaching the new upper frame 31 to the existing upper frame 21. The new upper frame 31 is positioned so as to face the inner circumference of the existing upper frame 21 directly, both vertically and horizontally. Therefore, the new upper frame 31 can be positioned as close as possible to the existing upper frame 21. Since the new upper frame 31 is not fixed to the existing upper frame 21, it can be installed regardless of any distortion in the existing upper frame 21. Since the screw SC1 does not come into contact with the existing upper frame 21, no heat is transferred between the existing upper frame 21 and the indoor-side frame member 312 of the new upper frame 31 via the screw SC1.

[0029] A rail-to-rail cover 3113 made of resin or wood-derived material is installed between the pair of guide rails 314a and 314b of the newly installed upper frame 31. The rail-to-rail cover 3113 is positioned across the lower surface 311b of the outdoor frame member 311 and the lower surface of the connecting member 313 so as to substantially shield the space between the guide rails 314a and 314b in the newly installed upper frame 31. As shown in Figure 4, the rail-to-rail cover 3113 has a double structure consisting of an upper plate portion 3113a, a lower plate portion 3113b positioned substantially parallel to and below the upper plate portion 3113a, and a plurality of connecting plate portions 3113c that connect the upper plate portion 3113a and the lower plate portion 3113b. The rail-to-rail cover 3113 suppresses the transmission of outside air temperature from the existing upper frame 21 to the new upper frame 31 to the inner circumference of the new upper frame 31.

[0030] As shown in Figure 4, an angle member 319 made of resin or wood-derived material is attached to the indoor side X2 end of the indoor side frame member 312 of the newly installed upper frame 31. The angle member 319 has an angle portion 319a extending toward the indoor side X2 and a vertical wall portion 319b extending upward from the outdoor side X1 end of the angle portion 319a. The vertical wall portion 319b is positioned to be continuous with the end face 312b of the indoor side X2 of the indoor side frame member 312 and to extend downward from the end face 312b. The angle portion 319a extends toward the indoor side X2 from the lower end of the vertical wall portion 319b and covers the mounting portion 318 from below. The angle portion 319a is positioned approximately equal to the position of the lower ends of the guide rails 314a and 314b.

[0031] A cover material 3191 made of resin or wood-derived material is integrally provided on the outdoor side X1 of the angle member 319. The cover material 3191 is provided along the lower surface 312c of the indoor frame member 312 and the side surface 314a1 of the indoor side X2 of the guide rail 314a. The cover material 3191 is fixed to the lower surface 312c of the indoor frame member 312 by screws 319c.

[0032] Next, we will explain the newly installed lower frame 32.

[0033] The newly installed lower frame 32 extends horizontally along the length of the existing lower frame 22. The newly installed lower frame 32 has a length in the depth direction that extends from the guide rail 211c of the existing lower frame 22 to near the center of the frame member 101 in the depth direction. The newly installed lower frame 32 is divided into two parts in the depth direction: an outdoor frame member 321 and an indoor frame member 322. Both the outdoor frame member 321 and the indoor frame member 322 are metal frame members, and each is made of an extruded profile formed by extruding a metal material such as aluminum in the length direction. The outdoor frame member 321 and the indoor frame member 322 are integrally connected by a connecting member 323. The connecting member 323 is made of a material with heat insulating properties such as resin and blocks the transfer of heat from the outdoor frame member 321 to the indoor frame member 322 in the newly installed lower frame 32.

[0034] The newly installed lower frame 32 has guide rails 324a, 324b, and 324c that project upward, corresponding to the guide rails 314a, 314b, and 314c of the newly installed upper frame 31. The guide rails 324a, 324b, and 324c extend along the entire length of the newly installed lower frame 32. The guide rail 324a, which is on the indoor side X2, is positioned on the outermost side X1 of the upper surface 322a of the indoor frame member 322, adjacent to the connecting member 323. The guide rail 324b is positioned near the center in the depth direction on the upper surface 321a of the outdoor frame member 321. The guide rail 324c is positioned on the outermost side X1 of the upper surface 321a of the outdoor frame member 321.

[0035] As shown in Figure 5, the outdoor frame member 321 has a hollow portion 3211 that bulges downward to conform to the shape of the existing lower frame 22. The indoor frame member 322 has a hollow portion 3221 with a substantially rectangular cross-section that extends from the connecting member 323 toward the indoor side X2. On the lower surface 322c of the indoor frame member 322, a stepped portion 3222 is formed at the portion toward the outdoor side X1, which is recessed toward upward.

[0036] A height adjustment member 325 is attached to the outdoor side X1 portion of the newly installed lower frame 32. The height adjustment member 325 extends downward from the newly installed lower frame 32 and rests on the upper surface 22a between the guide rails 221b and 221c of the existing lower frame 22. By adjusting the height adjustment member 325, the height of the outdoor side X1 of the newly installed lower frame 32 is adjusted. A decorative material 326 made of a metal material such as aluminum is detachably attached to the side of the outdoor side X1 of the newly installed lower frame 32. The decorative material 326 covers the height adjustment member 325 and extends downward in the visible direction from the existing lower frame 22, forming the visible surface of the newly installed lower frame 32. The decorative material 326 covers the sealant 104 that is exposed between the existing lower frame 22 and the exterior wall material 102 from the outdoor side X1.

[0037] A mounting portion 327 for fixing the newly installed lower frame 32 to the building structure 100 is integrally provided at the innermost X2 portion of the newly installed lower frame 32. The mounting portion 327 extends in a plate shape toward the inner X2 from the lower part of the end face 322b of the inner frame member 322 toward the inner X2.

[0038] The lower surface 327a of the mounting portion 327 is provided with at least one pair of protruding portions 3271 that extend in the longitudinal direction of the newly installed lower frame 32. The pair of protruding portions 3271 project slightly downward from the lower surface 327a of the mounting portion 327 and are arranged parallel to each other with a predetermined distance between them in the depth direction.

[0039] In the newly constructed frame 3, which is assembled in a rectangular shape on all four sides, the newly constructed lower frame 32 is positioned on the inner circumference side of the portion extending from the existing lower frame 22 to the frame member 101. The outdoor frame member 321 of the newly constructed lower frame 32 is positioned above the existing lower frame 22. The indoor frame member 322 of the newly constructed lower frame 32 is positioned above the frame member 101. The mounting portion 327 is in contact with the frame member 101. In the newly constructed frame 3, which is assembled in all four sides, the newly constructed lower frame 32 is fixed to the building structure 100 on the indoor side X2 than the existing lower frame 22 by a screw SC2 that penetrates the mounting portion 327 from the indoor side X2. The screw SC2 penetrates between a pair of protruding portions 3271 of the mounting portion 327. The pair of protruding portions 3271 are in contact with the frame member 101 and suppress deformation of the mounting portion 327 when the tightening torque of the screw SC2 is applied.

[0040] As shown in Figure 5, a spacer member 302 and a support plate 3021 are attached from below by screws 302a to the stepped portion 3222 of the indoor frame member 322 of the newly installed lower frame 32, filling the gap with the frame member 101. The spacer member 302 is composed of one or more sheets. The thickness of the sheets constituting the spacer member 302 and the number of layers of sheets are appropriately set according to the vertical depth of the stepped portion 3222 and the size of the gap between the indoor frame member 322 of the newly installed lower frame 32 and the frame member 101. The support plate 3021 is made of a metal plate and extends from the indoor frame member 322 through below the connecting member 323 to the outdoor frame member 321. The outdoor end X1 of the support plate 3021 abuts against the lower surface 321b of the outdoor frame member 321 adjacent to the connecting member 323, supporting the outdoor frame member 321 from below.

[0041] When the new frame 3 is attached to the inner circumference of the existing frame 2, there are no other members interposed between the existing lower frame 22 and the new lower frame 32 for attaching the new lower frame 32 to the existing lower frame 22. The new lower frame 32 is positioned so as to face the inner circumference of the existing lower frame 22 directly, both vertically and horizontally. Therefore, the new lower frame 32 can be positioned as close as possible to the existing lower frame 22. Since the new lower frame 32 is not fixed to the existing lower frame 22, it can be installed regardless of any distortion in the existing lower frame 22. Since the screw SC2 does not come into contact with the existing lower frame 22, no heat is transferred between the existing lower frame 22 and the indoor-side frame member 322 of the new lower frame 32 via the screw SC2.

[0042] A cover material 3213 made of resin or wood-derived material is attached between the pair of guide rails 324a and 324b of the newly installed lower frame 32. The cover material 3213 covers the side surface 324b1 of the indoor side X2 of the guide rail 324b and extends toward the indoor side X2, covering the upper surface 321a of the outdoor frame member 321 and the upper side of the connecting member 323.

[0043] As shown in Figure 5, an angle member 328 made of resin or wood-derived material is attached to the indoor frame member 322 of the newly installed lower frame 32. The angle member 328 has an angle portion 328a that extends toward the indoor side X2 beyond the end face 322b of the indoor side X2 of the indoor frame member 322, and covers the mounting portion 318 from above. The angle portion 328a is positioned at approximately the same position as the upper ends of the guide rails 324a and 324b. A cover material 3281 made of resin or wood-derived material is integrally provided on the outdoor side X1 of the angle member 328. The cover material 3281 is provided along the upper surface 322a of the indoor frame member 322 and the indoor side X2 of the guide rail 324a 324a1.

[0044] Next, the newly installed vertical frames 33 will be described. The left and right newly installed vertical frames 33 have substantially the same structure, except that they are symmetrical. Therefore, the common components of the left and right newly installed vertical frames 33 will be described using the same reference numerals.

[0045] The newly installed vertical frame 33 extends vertically along the length of the existing vertical frame 23. The newly installed vertical frame 33 has a length in the depth direction from the end of the outdoor side X1 of the existing vertical frame 23 to near the center of the depth direction of the frame member 101. The newly installed vertical frame 33 is divided into two parts in the depth direction: an outdoor frame member 331 and an indoor frame member 332. Both the outdoor frame member 331 and the indoor frame member 332 are metal frame members, and each is made of an extruded profile formed by extruding a metal material such as aluminum in the length direction. The outdoor frame member 331 and the indoor frame member 332 are integrally connected by a connecting member 333. The connecting member 333 is made of a material with heat insulating properties such as resin and blocks the transfer of heat from the outdoor frame member 331 to the indoor frame member 332 in the newly installed vertical frame 33.

[0046] The position of the connecting member 333 in the depth direction on the newly installed vertical frame 33 coincides with the position of the connecting members 313 and 323 in the depth direction on the newly installed upper frame 31 and the newly installed lower frame 32. The upper and lower ends of the connecting member 333 are positioned in contact with or close to the left and right ends of the connecting members 313 and 323 on the newly installed upper frame 31 and the newly installed lower frame 32. The connecting members 313, 323, and 333 are substantially continuous around all four sides of the newly installed frame 3.

[0047] As shown in Figures 6 and 7, the outdoor frame member 331 has a hollow section 3311 with a substantially rectangular cross-section. The indoor frame member 332 has a hollow section 3321 with a substantially rectangular cross-section. The outer surface 331a of the outdoor frame member 331 corresponding to the hollow section 3311 and the outer surface 332a of the indoor frame member 332 corresponding to the hollow section 3321 are both flat surfaces and are arranged flush with the new vertical frame 33 in the depth direction. The connecting member 333 does not protrude outward beyond these outer surfaces 331a and 332a.

[0048] As shown in Figure 6, a protruding piece 3312 is integrally provided on the inner surface 331b of the outer frame member 331 of the newly installed vertical frame 33 on the right side as viewed from the outer side X1, projecting inward in the visible direction. The protruding piece 3312 extends along the entire length of the newly installed vertical frame 33. The protruding piece 3312 engages with the vertical frame 423 on the leading edge side of the sliding door 42 when the sliding door 42 on the outer side X1 is in the closed state. Furthermore, as shown in Figure 7, a protruding piece 3322 is integrally provided on the inner surface 332b of the inner frame member 332 of the newly installed vertical frame 33 on the left side as viewed from the outer side X1, projecting inward in the visible direction. The protruding piece 3322 extends along the entire length of the newly installed vertical frame 33. The protruding piece 3322 engages with the vertical frame 413 on the door edge side of the sliding door 41 when the sliding door 41 on the interior side X2 is in the closed position.

[0049] An exterior wall portion 334 is integrally provided at the outermost part X1 of the exterior frame member 331, extending outward in the visible direction. The exterior wall portion 334 protrudes further outward in the visible direction than the outer surfaces 331a and 332a of the exterior frame member 331 and the interior frame member 332, and is positioned to overlap the outermost end face 23a of the existing vertical frame 23 from the exterior X1. A decorative material 335 made of a metal material such as aluminum is detachably attached to the exterior wall portion 334 from the exterior X1. The decorative material 335 covers the exterior wall portion 334 and extends outward in the visible direction than the existing vertical frame 23, forming the visible surface of the new vertical frame 33. The decorative material 335 covers the sealant 104 exposed between the existing vertical frame 23 and the exterior wall material 102 from the exterior X1.

[0050] An attachment portion 336 is integrally provided at the innermost X2 portion of the newly installed vertical frame 33, which is used to fix the newly installed vertical frame 33 to the building structure 100. The attachment portion 336 extends in a plate shape toward the inner X2 from the end face 332c of the inner frame member 332 toward the inner X2. The attachment portion 336 is arranged parallel to the outer surfaces 331a and 332a of the outer frame member 331 and the inner frame member 332.

[0051] The outer surface 336a of the mounting portion 336 is provided with at least one pair of protruding portions 3361 extending in the longitudinal direction of the newly installed vertical frame 33. The pair of protruding portions 3361 project slightly outward from the outer surface 336a of the mounting portion 336 and are arranged parallel to each other with a predetermined distance between them in the depth direction. The position of the outer surface 336a of the mounting portion 336 is positioned slightly inward from the positions of the outer surfaces 331a and 332a of the outdoor frame member 331 and the indoor frame member 332. The pair of protruding portions 3361 project from the outer surface 336a of the mounting portion 336 to approximately the same height as the positions of the outer surfaces 331a and 332a of the outdoor frame member 331 and the indoor frame member 332.

[0052] Each of the newly installed vertical frames 333 is provided with at least one fin-shaped waterproofing member 337 on the outer surface 331a of the outdoor frame member 331. The waterproofing member 337 extends along the entire length of the newly installed vertical frame 33. The waterproofing member 337 protrudes from the outer surface 331a of the outdoor frame member 331 toward the inner surface 23b of the existing vertical frame 23. The tip of the waterproofing member 337 abuts against the inner surface 23b of the existing vertical frame 23. Therefore, the waterproofing member 337 is positioned between the existing vertical frame 23 and the newly installed vertical frame 33 to prevent rainwater from flowing in the indoor-outdoor direction. The position of the waterproofing member 337 in the depth direction of the newly installed vertical frame 33 is slightly on the indoor side X2 of the outdoor extension portion 3112 of the newly installed upper frame 31, or at the same position as the fin member 317 of the newly installed upper frame 31. As a result, rainwater flowing down from both ends of the exterior extension portion 3112 of the newly installed upper frame 31 between the existing vertical frame 23 and the newly installed vertical frame 33 is efficiently drained onto the existing lower frame 22 by flowing along the exterior surface X1 of the waterproofing member 337. Therefore, by providing this waterproofing member 337 between the existing vertical frame 23 and the newly installed vertical frame 33, rainwater flowing down from the newly installed upper frame 31 is prevented from entering the interior X2. Rainwater that flows onto the existing lower frame 22 is drained onto the exterior X1 through notches (not shown) provided at both the left and right ends of the guide rail 221c on the outermost X1.

[0053] The waterproofing member 337 is made of an elastic material such as a soft resin or rubber. The waterproofing member 337 may also be made of a hard material such as a hard resin or metal. When the waterproofing member 337 is made of an elastic material, the tip of the waterproofing member 337 elastically contacts the inner surface 23b of the existing vertical frame 23, sealing the space between the existing vertical frame 23 and the new vertical frame 33. Therefore, it has a high effect in preventing rainwater from entering the interior side X2. The waterproofing member 337 made of an elastic material can bend elastically even when it comes into contact with the existing vertical frame 23, etc., when the new vertical frame 33 is positioned on the inner circumference side of the existing vertical frame 23, so there is no risk of damage.

[0054] In the newly constructed frame 3, which is assembled in a rectangular shape on all four sides, the left and right pairs of newly constructed vertical frames 33 are positioned on the inner circumference side of the portion extending from the existing vertical frame 23 to the frame member 101. The outdoor frame member 331 of the newly constructed vertical frame 33 is positioned inside the existing vertical frame 23. The indoor frame member 332 of the newly constructed vertical frame 33 is positioned inside the frame member 101. As shown in Figures 6 and 7, if a gap is formed between the newly constructed vertical frame 33 and the frame member 101, a spacer member 303 is positioned to fill that gap. The spacer member 303 is composed of one or more sheets. The thickness of the sheets constituting the spacer member 303 and the number of layers of sheets are appropriately set according to the size of the gap between the indoor frame member 332 of the newly constructed vertical frame 33 and the frame member 101. The outer surface 332a and mounting portion 336 of the indoor frame member 332 are in contact with and overlap the spacer member 303. The connecting member 333 is positioned inside the spacer member 303. The new vertical frame 33 in the newly assembled four-sided frame 3 is fixed to the building structure 100 on the interior side X2 than the existing vertical frame 23 by a screw SC3 that penetrates the mounting portion 336 and the spacer member 303 from the interior side X2. The screw SC3 penetrates between a pair of protruding portions 3361 of the mounting portion 336. The pair of protruding portions 3361 abut against the spacer member 303 and suppress deformation of the mounting portion 336 when the tightening torque of the screw SC3 is applied.

[0055] When the new frame 3 is attached to the inner circumference of the existing frame 2, there are no other members interposed between the existing vertical frame 23 and the new vertical frame 33 for attaching the new vertical frame 33 to the existing vertical frame 23. The new vertical frame 33 is positioned so as to face the inner circumference of the existing vertical frame 23 directly from left to right. Therefore, the new vertical frame 33 can be positioned as close as possible to the existing vertical frame 23. Since the new vertical frame 33 is not fixed to the existing vertical frame 23, it can be installed without being affected by the state of distortion in the existing vertical frame 23. Since the screw SC3 does not come into contact with the existing vertical frame 23, no heat is transferred between the existing vertical frame 23 and the indoor side frame member 332 of the new vertical frame 33 via the screw SC3.

[0056] As shown in Figures 6 and 7, an angle member 338 made of resin or wood-derived material is attached to the indoor frame member 332 of the newly installed vertical frame 33. The angle member 338 has an angle portion 338a extending toward the indoor side X2, a vertical wall portion 338b extending outward from the outdoor side X1 end of the angle portion 338a, and an outdoor end portion 338c extending toward the outdoor side X1 from the outer end of the vertical wall portion 338b. The vertical wall portion 338b is arranged to be continuous with the end face 332c of the indoor side X2 of the indoor frame member 332 and to extend the end face 332c toward the inward direction. The angle portion 338a extends toward the indoor side X2 from the inner end of the vertical wall portion 338b and covers the mounting portion 336 from the inside. The position of the angle portion 338a in the depth direction coincides with the position of the angle portions 319a and 328a of the angle members 319 and 328 of the newly installed upper frame 31 and new lower frame 32 in the depth direction. The angle member 338 covers the vertical frames 413 and 423 on the door edge side of the sliding doors 41 and 42 from the interior side X2. The exterior end portion 338c of the angle member 338 is positioned along the inner surface 332b of the interior frame member 332 and is fixed to the inner surface 332b by screws 338d.

[0057] As shown in Figure 6, a cover material 3323 made of resin or wood-derived material is provided on the inner surface 332b of the outdoor frame member 331 of the newly installed vertical frame 33 on the right side when viewed from the outdoor side X1. The cover material 3323 is positioned adjacent to the outdoor side X1 of the angle member 338 and covers the inner surface 332b of the indoor frame member 332 of the newly installed vertical frame 33 from the angle member 338 to the connecting member 333. The position of the inner surface 3323a of the cover material 3323 is approximately equal to the position of the angle portion 338a of the angle member 338.

[0058] As shown in Figures 4 to 7, airtight tapes T1 and T2 made of resin or metal such as aluminum are attached to the indoor side X2 portion of the newly installed frame 3, which is fixed by screws SC1, SC2, and SC3. Airtight tape T1 is attached to the frame member 101. The outdoor side X1 end of airtight tape T1 is attached from the frame member 101 to the outdoor side X1 surface 2b of the wall portion that protrudes furthest inward X2 of the existing frame 2. The indoor side X2 end of airtight tape T1 extends further inward X2 than the existing upper frame 21, existing lower frame 22, and existing vertical frame 23. The outdoor side X1 end of airtight tape T2 covers the mounting portions 318, 327, 336 and the heads of screws SC1, SC2, and SC3. The indoor-side end X2 of the airtight tape T2 extends further into the indoor-side X2 than the mounting parts 318, 327, and 336, and overlaps with the airtight tape T1. This improves the airtightness between the existing frame 2 and the new frame 3.

[0059] After the newly installed frame 3 is fixed to the building frame 100, decorative covers 51, 52, and 53 made of resin or wood-derived material are provided around the interior side X2 of the frame 3. The decorative covers 51, 52, and 53 are attached to the angle members 319, 328, and 338 by screws 51a, 52a, and 53a. The decorative cover 51 of the newly installed upper frame 31 extends in line with the angle portion 319a of the angle member 319 toward the interior side X2 and is positioned across the frame member 101. The decorative cover 52 of the newly installed lower frame 32 extends in line with the angle portion 328a of the angle member 328 toward the interior side X2 and is positioned across the frame member 101. The decorative cover 53 of the newly installed vertical frame 33 extends in line with the angle portion 338a of the angle member 338 toward the interior side X2 and is positioned across the frame member 101.

[0060] As shown in Figures 4 to 7, the decorative covers 51, 52, and 53 integrally include a rectangular cross-section hollow section 510, 520, and 530 that is flush with the angle sections 319a, 328a, and 338a and positioned on the indoor side X2 of the angle sections 319a, 328a, and 338a, indoor cover walls 511, 521, and 531 that extend from the ends of the indoor side X2 of the hollow section 510, 520, and 530a toward the frame member 101, and fixing sections 512, 522, and 532 that are fixed to the angle members 319, 328, and 338. The sides 510a, 520a, 530a of the hollow sections 510, 520, 530 and the interior cover walls 511, 521, 531 form the visible surface X2 on the interior side of the decorative covers 51, 52, 53.

[0061] Multiple cut grooves 511a, 521a, and 531a are formed in the interior cover walls 511, 521, and 531. The cut grooves 511a, 521a, and 531a are formed along the bases of multiple protrusions that extend parallel to each other along the length of the decorative covers 51, 52, and 53. The multiple cut grooves 511a, 521a, and 531a are provided parallel to each other at predetermined intervals in the visible direction. That is, the cut grooves 511a and 521a of the decorative covers 51 and 52 of the newly installed upper frame 31 and new lower frame 32 are arranged parallel to each other at intervals in the vertical direction. The cut grooves 531a of the decorative cover 53 of the newly installed vertical frame 33 are arranged parallel to each other at intervals in the horizontal direction. The interior cover walls 511, 521, and 531 can be easily cut by sliding a cutter blade along any of the cutting grooves 511a, 521a, and 531a, or by breaking them by hand. Therefore, depending on the distance between the angle portions 319a, 328a, and 338a of the angle members 319, 328, and 338a and the frame member 101, the worker can easily adjust the height of the interior cover walls 511, 521, and 531 from the frame member 101 on site by cutting them at any of the cutting grooves 511a, 521a, and 531a.

[0062] The fixing parts 512, 522, and 532 of the decorative covers 51, 52, and 53 are composed of fixing part bodies 512a, 522a, and 532a that extend from the hollow parts 510, 520, and 530 toward the outdoor side X1, contact plate parts 512b, 522b, and 532b that are provided at the ends of the fixing part bodies 512a, 522a, and 532a toward the outdoor side X1 and extend in the visible direction, and a pair of screw insertion plate parts 512c, 522c, and 532c that protrude from the fixing part bodies 512a, 522a, and 532a toward the back surface of the angle parts 319a, 328a, and 338a. The contact plate portions 512b, 522b, and 532b of the fixing portions 512, 522, and 532 abut against the vertical wall portions 319b, 328b, and 338b of the angle members 319, 328, and 338 from the indoor side X2, defining the position of the decorative covers 51, 52, and 53 in the depth direction. The screws 51a, 52a, and 53a pass through the angle portions 319a, 328a, and 338a, and are screwed into the fixing portion bodies 512a, 522a, and 532a by passing between the pair of screw insertion plate portions 512c, 522c, and 532c. When screws 51a, 52a, and 53a are tightened, the contact plates 512b, 522b, and 532b and the screw insertion plates 512c, 522c, and 532c come into contact with the back surfaces of the angle sections 319a, 328a, and 338a, defining the visible position of the decorative covers 51, 52, and 53. Therefore, the decorative covers 51, 52, and 53 are fixed in the correct position relative to the angle members 319, 328, and 338 without any misalignment.

[0063] The decorative covers 51, 52, and 53, fixed to the angle members 319, 328, and 338, cover the newly installed upper frame 31, lower frame 32, vertical frame 33, and spacer members 301, 302, and 303 between the angle members 319, 328, and 338 and the frame member 101 from the interior side X2. The heads of the screws SC1, SC2, and SC3 are positioned inside the decorative covers 51, 52, and 53. The boundary between the decorative covers 51, 52, and 53 and the frame member 101 is shielded on all four sides by L-shaped trim pieces 61, 62, and 63, which are fixed to the frame member 101 by screws 61a, 62a, and 63a. The ends of the upper and lower trim pieces 61 and 62 are positioned in contact with or close to the upper and lower ends of the vertical trim piece 63. The boundary between trim piece 61 and trim piece 63, and the boundary between trim piece 62 and trim piece 63, are each concealed by corner piece 64.

[0064] Insulation materials 501, 502, and 503 are provided around the perimeter of the decorative covers 51, 52, and 53. The insulation materials 501, 502, and 503 are made of materials that provide thermal insulation, such as extruded polystyrene foam, bead-molded polystyrene, resin materials such as urethane resin, rubber, or vacuum insulation materials. The insulation materials 501, 502, and 503 are housed over the entire length of the newly installed upper frame 31, new lower frame 32, and new vertical frame 33, respectively. The ends of each insulation material 501, 502, and 503 are positioned in contact with or close to the ends of other adjacent insulation materials 501, 502, and 503 in the circumferential direction. This allows for a compact configuration of the visible surface of the newly installed frame 3 of the remodeled joinery 1, while further suppressing heat transfer between the exterior X1 and interior X2 of the newly installed frame 3. As a result, the thermal insulation performance of the remodeled joinery 1 is improved.

[0065] Next, we will explain shoji screens 41 and 42.

[0066] The shoji screens 41 and 42 are constructed by assembling an upper frame 411 and 421, a lower frame 412 and 422, and a pair of left and right vertical frames 413 and 423 in a rectangular shape, and then housing one or more facing materials 414 and 424 made of glass or the like inside the frame body.

[0067] As shown in Figure 4, the upper frames 411 and 421 are composed of upper frame bodies 4111 and 4211 made of extruded profiles formed by extruding a metal material such as aluminum in the longitudinal direction, and cover members 4112 and 4212 made of resin or wood-derived material that cover the interior side X2 of the upper frame bodies 4111 and 4211. The upper frame bodies 4111 and 4211 are installed so as to sandwich the guide rails 314a and 314b of the newly installed upper frame 31 in the depth direction.

[0068] As shown in Figure 5, the bottom frames 412 and 422 consist of bottom frame bodies 4121 and 4221 made of extruded profiles formed by extruding a metal material such as aluminum in the longitudinal direction, and cover members 4122 and 4222 made of resin or wood-derived material that cover the interior side X2 of the bottom frame bodies 4121 and 4221. The bottom frame bodies 4121 and 4221 are installed so as to sandwich the guide rails 324a and 324b of the newly installed bottom frame 32 in the depth direction. Door rollers 4123 and 4223 are provided inside the bottom frame bodies 4121 and 4221 and are rotatably mounted on the guide rails 324a and 324b.

[0069] As shown in Figures 6 and 7, the vertical frames 413 and 423 are composed of vertical frame bodies 4131 and 4231 made of extruded profiles formed by extruding a metal material such as aluminum in the longitudinal direction, and cover members 4132 and 4232 made of resin or wood-derived material that cover the interior side X2 of the vertical frame bodies 4131 and 4231.

[0070] According to the remodeled joinery 1 of this embodiment, when the new frame 3 is attached to the inner circumference of the existing frame 2, there are no members interposed between the existing frame 2 and the new frame 3 for attaching the new frame 3 to the existing frame 2. Therefore, the new frame 3 can be positioned as close as possible to the existing frame 2. As a result, a remodeled joinery 1 can be constructed with the frame members having the most compact dimensions possible in the visible direction. Since the new frame 3 is not fixed to the existing frame 2, it can be installed without being affected by the distortion of the existing frame 2. As a result, the workability of the new frame 3 is improved. Since the fixing members, screws SC1, SC2, and SC3, do not come into contact with the existing lower frame 22, heat is not transferred between the existing frame 2 and the indoor frame members 312, 322, and 332 of the new frame 3 via the screws SC1, SC2, and SC3, resulting in excellent heat insulation.

[0071] Next, the decorative materials 316, 326, and 335 attached to the exterior surface X1 of the newly installed upper frame 31, new lower frame 32, and new vertical frame 33 will be described in more detail.

[0072] As shown in Figures 1 to 3, the decorative materials 316, 326, and 335 consist of an upper horizontal decorative cover 316 (horizontal cover material) extending horizontally on the upper side, a lower horizontal decorative cover 326 (horizontal cover material) extending horizontally on the lower side, and a pair of outdoor-facing front vertical decorative covers 335 (second cover material, vertical cover material) extending vertically at both ends in the horizontal direction.

[0073] The upper horizontal decorative cover 316, the lower horizontal decorative cover 326, and the outdoor front vertical decorative cover 335 are attached to the surface of the outdoor X1 of the newly installed upper frame 31, the newly installed lower frame 32, and the newly installed left and right vertical frames 33, respectively. As a result, the upper horizontal decorative cover 316, the lower horizontal decorative cover 326, and the outdoor front vertical decorative cover 335 cover the irregularities on the outdoor X1 of the newly installed upper frame 31, the newly installed lower frame 32, and the newly installed vertical frames 33, respectively, so that the flat surfaces of the decorative materials 316, 326, and 335 on the outdoor X1 are exposed to the outdoor X1, thereby improving the aesthetic appearance.

[0074] Further explanation will be given regarding the structure surrounding the area where the exterior front vertical decorative cover 335 is installed. Depending on the arrangement with the building frame 100, the existing vertical frame 23 may be visible from the side of the area where the exterior front vertical decorative cover 335 is installed. Also, since the wall thickness varies depending on the site, the degree to which the existing vertical frame 23 is visible will also vary.

[0075] In contrast, in this embodiment, as shown in Figures 6 to 8, an outdoor front vertical decorative cover 335 (second cover material) is attached to the newly installed vertical frame 33 so as to cover the outdoor side X1 side of the newly installed vertical frame 33, and an outdoor side decorative cover 8 (first cover material) is attached so as to cover the side of the existing vertical frame 23. The outdoor side decorative cover 8 is attached to the newly installed vertical frame 33 from the outside in the left-right direction of the newly installed vertical frame 33 to which the outdoor front vertical decorative cover 335 is attached, so as to cover the side of the existing vertical frame 23.

[0076] First, the configuration of the newly installed vertical frame 33 and the outdoor front vertical decorative cover 335, which are arranged around the outdoor side decorative cover 8, will be described. As shown in Figures 6 to 8, the newly installed vertical frame 33 has an outdoor frame member 331, an outdoor wall portion 334, and a pair of engaging protrusions 339.

[0077] A pair of engaging protrusions 339 are positioned apart on the left and right sides and are formed to protrude from the outdoor side X1 surface of the outdoor side frame member 331 toward the outdoor side X1. A pair of engaging protrusions 3352 of the outdoor side front vertical decorative cover 335 engage with the pair of engaging protrusions 339 and are attached to it.

[0078] The exterior wall portion 334 is formed as a plate that extends outward in the left-right direction from the middle of the left-right outer engaging projection 339 of the pair of engaging projections 339 in the interior-exterior direction. The exterior wall portion 334 is positioned at the exterior end X1 of the newly installed vertical frame 33 and extends in the left-right direction (visible direction). The mounting plate portion 81 (described later) of the exterior side decorative cover 8 is fixed to the exterior wall portion 334 by screws 83.

[0079] As shown in Figures 6 to 8, the exterior front vertical decorative cover 335 has a visible-direction extending plate 3351 (visible-direction extending portion), a pair of engaging protrusions 3352, and a protruding piece 3353.

[0080] The visible-direction extending plate 3351 has a width in the left-right direction (visible direction) and is formed as a plate that extends in an elongated shape along the longitudinal direction of the newly installed vertical frame 33. The visible-direction extending plate 3351 is positioned to cover the outdoor-side X1 surface of the newly installed vertical frame 33. The visible-direction extending plate 3351 is positioned on the outdoor-side X1 of the outdoor-side wall portion 334 of the newly installed vertical frame 33 so as to cover the outdoor-side wall portion 334. The visible-direction extending plate 3351 has a surface facing the outdoor-side X1.

[0081] The pair of engaging projections 3352 are positioned separately to the left and right on the side of the visible-direction extending plate 3351 where the sash 10 is positioned in the left-right direction, and protrude from the interior-side X2 surface of the visible-direction extending plate 3351 toward the interior-side X2. The pair of engaging projections 332 are attached to the pair of engaging projections 339 of the newly installed vertical frame 33 by engaging with them.

[0082] The protruding piece 3353 protrudes in the left-right direction of the visible-direction extending plate 3351 from the end opposite to the side on which the sash 10 is placed toward the interior side X2.

[0083] Next, the configuration of the exterior side decorative cover 8 attached to the newly installed vertical frame 33 will be described. The exterior side decorative cover 8 is made of general-purpose parts, rather than dedicated parts for the remodeled joinery 1, so that it can be adapted to various sites. As general-purpose parts, parts available on the market can be used. However, it is not limited to this, and dedicated parts may also be prepared.

[0084] In this embodiment, the exterior side decorative cover 8 is selected from a plurality of pre-prepared general-purpose parts and is formed in an L-shape in cross-section. The exterior side decorative cover 8 has a mounting plate portion 81 (mounting portion) and a shielding plate portion 82 (extending portion in the depth direction).

[0085] The mounting plate portion 81 is formed in a plate shape, extending with width in the left-right direction (visible direction) and also extending in the up-down direction. The mounting plate portion 81 is fixed to the outdoor side wall portion 334 of the newly installed vertical frame 33 by screws 83. When the mounting plate portion 81 is fixed to the outdoor side wall portion 334 by screws 83, the entire outdoor side X1 of the mounting plate portion 81 and the screws 83 that fix the mounting plate portion 81 of the outdoor side decorative cover 8 are covered by the outdoor front vertical decorative cover 335. Because the outdoor side X1 of the outdoor side decorative cover 8 is covered by the outdoor front vertical decorative cover 335, there is no reduction in the aesthetic appearance due to the installation of the outdoor side decorative cover 8.

[0086] The shielding plate portion 82 extends from the left-right outer end of the mounting plate portion 81 toward the interior side X2. The shielding plate portion 82 is positioned to cover the sides of the existing vertical frame 23 and the new vertical frame 33 so that they are not visible from the outside or side in the left-right direction. The shielding plate portion 82 is formed in a plate shape, has a width extending in the interior-exterior direction (depth direction), and extends in the vertical direction. The shielding plate portion 82 is formed to extend from the building frame 100 to the exterior front vertical decorative cover 335 in the interior-exterior direction.

[0087] The procedure for attaching the exterior side decorative cover 8 and the exterior front vertical decorative cover 335 to the newly installed vertical frame 33 will be explained. First, depending on the site, the exterior side decorative cover 8 is selected from several types of general-purpose parts that are prepared in advance to accommodate the wall thickness, etc.

[0088] Then, using the selected general-purpose exterior side decorative cover 8, the mounting plate portion 81 of the exterior side decorative cover 8 is fixed to the exterior wall portion 334 of the new vertical frame 33 with screws 83 at the site. As a result, the shielding plate portion 82 of the exterior side decorative cover 8 can cover the sides of the existing vertical frame 23 and the new vertical frame 33 so that they are not visible from the outside or side in the left-right direction of the existing vertical frame 23 and the new vertical frame 33.

[0089] Next, the outdoor front vertical decorative cover 335 is attached to the new vertical frame 33 by engaging the pair of engaging protrusions 3352 of the outdoor front vertical decorative cover 335 with the pair of engaging protrusions 339 of the new vertical frame 33. As a result, the outdoor front vertical decorative cover 335 can cover the outdoor side X1 surface of the new vertical frame 33, the mounting plate portion 81 of the outdoor side decorative cover 8 positioned on the outdoor side X1 surface of the new vertical frame 33, and the screws 83 that fix the mounting plate portion 81 of the outdoor side decorative cover 8, so that they are not exposed to the outdoor side X1. Since the outdoor side X1 of the outdoor side decorative cover 8 is covered by the outdoor front vertical decorative cover 335, there is no decrease in the aesthetic appearance due to the installation of the outdoor side decorative cover 8.

[0090] This embodiment provides the following advantages. The remodeled joinery 1 of this embodiment comprises an existing frame 2 attached to an opening in the building structure 100, a new frame 3 attached to the inner circumference of the existing frame 2, and an exterior-side decorative cover 8 that covers the visible surface of the existing frame 2. As a result, the visible surface of the existing frame 2 can be covered with the exterior-side decorative cover 8, thereby improving the aesthetic appearance.

[0091] The remodeled joinery 1 of this embodiment includes an exterior front vertical decorative cover 335 that is attached to the newly installed vertical frame 33 and has a facing-direction extending plate 3351 that extends in the facing direction on the exterior side X1 of the newly installed vertical frame 33, and an exterior side decorative cover 8 that is attached to the newly installed vertical frame 33 and has a shielding plate portion 82 that extends in the depth direction on the exterior side X1 of the newly installed vertical frame 33.

[0092] As a result, the visible-direction extending plate 3351 of the exterior front vertical decorative cover 335 is positioned to cover the exterior X1 surface of the newly installed vertical frame 33. In addition, the shielding plate portion 82 of the exterior side decorative cover 8 is positioned to cover the sides of the existing vertical frame 23 and the newly installed vertical frame 33 so that they are not visible from the outside in the left-right direction. This improves the aesthetic appearance to accommodate various site conditions.

[0093] Furthermore, in this embodiment, the exterior side decorative cover 8 has a mounting plate portion 81 that extends in the visible direction, and the mounting plate portion 81 is fixed to the newly installed vertical frame 33 by screws 83, and the exterior front vertical decorative cover 335 is positioned to cover the screws 83 that fix the mounting plate portion 81 to the newly installed vertical frame 33. As a result, the screws 83 that fix the exterior side decorative cover 8 can be covered, thereby improving the aesthetic appearance.

[0094] Furthermore, in this embodiment, the exterior side decorative cover 8 is formed with an L-shaped cross-section. This allows for a simpler construction of the exterior side decorative cover 8. Therefore, the exterior side decorative cover 8 is easy to handle and can be easily attached to the newly installed vertical frame 33.

[0095] Furthermore, in this embodiment, the exterior side decorative cover 8 is selected from a variety of pre-prepared general-purpose parts. This allows for adaptation to various sites without the need to prepare dedicated parts.

[0096] Although one embodiment of the remodeling fixture of this disclosure has been described above, the remodeling fixture of this disclosure can be modified as appropriate. For example, the remodeling fixture of this disclosure is not limited to having the two sashes 41 and 42 described above, but may have three or more sashes, or it may constitute a sliding window with only one sash. Furthermore, the remodeling fixture of this disclosure may constitute a casement window, a fixed window, a double-hung window, an outward-opening window, an inward-opening window, or a hinged window.

[0097] In the remodeled joinery 1 described above, the newly installed upper frame 31, newly installed lower frame 32, and newly installed vertical frame 33 that constitute the newly installed frame 3 each have an insulating structure in which metal frame members divided in the indoor-outdoor direction are connected by connecting members 313, 323, and 333. However, such an insulating structure only needs to be provided in at least one of the upper, lower, left, and right frame members that constitute the newly installed frame.

[0098] In the remodeled joinery 1 described above, insulation materials 501, 502, and 503 are provided on the top, bottom, left, and right frame members of the newly installed frame 3, respectively. However, the insulation material only needs to be provided on at least one of the top, bottom, left, and right frame members of the newly installed frame 3.

[0099] In the remodeled joinery 1 described above, the material of the frames of the two shoji screens 41 and 42 is not limited. The frames of the two shoji screens 41 and 42 may be made of metal members using metal materials, resin members using resin materials, or a combination of resin members and metal members. Alternatively, the frames of the shoji screens may be made of wood-derived materials instead of resin members. When the frames are made of resin members, the newly installed upper frame 31 and new lower frame 32 may be made of a frame member body including metal and a resin rail member that covers the frame member body and guides the sliding movement of the shoji screens 41 and 42. In this case, at least the newly installed upper frame 31 and new lower frame 32 of the newly installed frame 3 are provided with resin rail members, and the shoji screens 41 and 42 having resin frames are slidably housed in these resin rail members, thereby improving the thermal insulation performance of the remodeled joinery 1.

[0100] In the remodeled joinery 1 described above, a general-purpose part with an L-shaped cross-section is used as the exterior side decorative cover 8, but it is not limited to this. As a general-purpose part, for example, a part with a crank-shaped cross-section, a part with a U-shaped cross-section, a part with a T-shaped cross-section, a part made of a straight plate with a cross-section, or a hollow part may be used to construct the exterior side decorative cover that covers the sides of the existing vertical frame 23 and the new vertical frame 33.

[0101] In the above-described example of the remodeled joinery 1, an example was given in which the exterior front vertical decorative cover 335 (second cover material) and the exterior side decorative cover 8 (first cover material) are provided on the newly installed vertical frame 33, but the example is not limited to this. The first cover material and the second cover material may also be provided on the newly installed upper frame 31 or the newly installed lower frame 32.

[0102] In the above-described example of the remodeling joinery 1, the case in which the remodeling joinery 1 is applied to a sliding window type remodeling sash was explained. However, it is not limited to this. The remodeling joinery may also be applied to, for example, an opening and closing type remodeling joinery in which the door body rotates around a pivot axis to open and close, or a vertical sliding type remodeling joinery. Furthermore, the remodeling joinery may also be applied to, for example, a fixed type remodeling joinery in which the glass is installed while the joinery is fixed to the frame without opening and closing.

[0103] The remodeling fixtures of this disclosure are not limited to those applied to existing frames 2 having an existing lower frame 22 formed such that the height gradually decreases from the interior side X2 to the exterior side X1, as in the remodeling fixture 1 described above. The remodeling fixtures of this disclosure are also applicable when remodeling existing frames having an existing lower frame 220 on which a pair of guide rails 221a, 221b are provided protruding at the same height, as shown in Figure 9.
