Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a door arrangement comprising a door frame profile defining an opening for a passage, further comprising at least one door that can be opened and closed in opposite directions of the passage, wherein the at least one door is suspended from the door frame profile by one or more hinges.
Background Art
[0002] Such door arrangements are conventionally known and are used, for example, as security gates. However, the known doors are also known for use in supermarkets and other facilities with high foot traffic.
Summary of Invention
Problem to be Solved by the Invention
[0003] For security gates, the available width of the passage is calculated in centimeter units. Space is money. Furthermore, saving even one centimeter of space occupied by the gate to which the door arrangement is applied has been a long-felt demand of many applicants including supermarkets. In particular, supermarkets aim to direct customer flow in one direction due to the demand to improve accommodation capacity, and as Covid-19 is putting pressure on everyone's lives today, this demand is rising sharply.
[0004] The present invention aims to provide the above solution.
Means for Solving the Problem
[0005] Accordingly, the present invention is embodied in a door arrangement having one or more of the features of the appended claims.
[0006] Essential to this invention is the fact that one or more hinges are attached to the door frame profile on the outside of the passageway opening. This has the advantage of allowing at least one door to be positioned in the "shadow" of the door frame when it is open, giving a special feeling of welcome to people passing through the door configuration. This is highly desirable in stores and supermarkets. It also significantly reduces the likelihood of a shopping cart colliding with at least one door or door frame.
[0007] The object of the present invention can be achieved, in particular, by having a body comprising at least one door having a first body portion and a second body portion extending in two substantially orthogonal directions, wherein the first body portion and the second body portion merge with each other with a curved body portion located midway between the first body portion and the second body portion, and the curved body portion is positioned such that it is located at a shorter distance from the door frame profile than the distance of the curved body portion from the door end, which is parallel to and spaced apart from the door frame profile.
[0008] With a door configuration having the above-described features, the object of the present invention is achieved, in particular, such that when at least one door is opened in a first direction of two opposing directions, the first body portion, the second body portion, and the curved body portion are in close proximity to the outer shape of the door frame profile, while when at least one door is opened in a second direction of two opposing directions, only the first body portion, which has one or more hinges, is in close proximity to the door frame profile, and the second body portion extends away from the door frame profile.
[0009] The door configuration does not necessarily have to consist of only one door; on the contrary, it is preferable that the door configuration consists of two doors, which are hinged to opposing posts on the door frame profile.
[0010] The present invention will be further clarified below with reference to the drawings of exemplary embodiments of the door configuration according to the present invention, which do not limit the scope of the attached claims. [Brief explanation of the drawing]
[0011] [Figure 1] A diagram showing an example of the door configuration of the present invention in an isometric view. [Figure 2] A diagram showing the door configuration of Figure 1 from above. [Modes for carrying out the invention]
[0012] In the diagram, if the same reference number is used, these numbers refer to the same part.
[0013] Referring to both Figure 1 and Figure 2, a door configuration 1 according to the present invention is shown, which comprises a door frame profile 2 defining an opening 3 of a passageway 4. The door configuration 1 further comprises at least one door. In the illustrated embodiment, there are two doors 5, 6, which are hinged to opposing posts 2', 2'' of the door frame profile 2. The doors 5, 6 are movable in opposite directions in the passageway 4, and are represented in Figure 2 by arrows A, B. Each of the doors 5, 6 is suspended from the door frame profile 2 by one or more hinges 7, as depicted in Figure 2. Figure 2 further shows that one or more hinges 7 are attached to the door frame profile 2 outside the opening 3 of the passageway 4.
[0014] As is evident from Figure 1, and especially from Figure 2, each of the doors 5 and 6 comprises a body having first body portions 5', 6' and second body portions 5'', 6'' extending in two substantially orthogonal directions, these first and second body portions converging with curved body portions 5'''', 6'' located between the first body portions 5', 6' and the second body portions 5'', 6'', the curved body portions 5'''', 6'' located at a shorter distance from the door frame profile 2 compared to the distance of the curved body portions 5'''', 6'''' from the door ends 8, 9 which are parallel to and at a distance from the door frame profile 2.
[0015] Figure 2 shows doors 5 and 6 in two possible positions, with door configuration 1 fully open. When doors 5 and 6 are opened in the first of two opposing directions, the first body portions 5' and 6' and the second body portions 5'' and 6'', as well as the curved body portions 5'''' and 6'''', are closely adjacent to the door frame profile 2 and follow its outline. This is the case when doors 5 and 6 are opened in the direction shown at the bottom of Figure 2. Figure 2 further shows that when the two doors 5 and 6 are opened in the second of two opposing directions, as shown at the top of Figure 2, only the first body portions 5' and 6', which have one or more hinges 7, are closely adjacent to the door frame profile 2, while the second body portions 5' and 6' extend away from the door frame profile 2.
[0016] Although the present invention has been described above with reference to exemplary embodiments of the door configuration of the present invention, the present invention is not limited to these specific embodiments and can be modified in various ways without departing from the present invention. Therefore, the exemplary embodiments described should not be used to strictly interpret the appended claims. Rather, these embodiments are not intended to limit the claims to these exemplary embodiments, but merely to illustrate the wording of the appended claims. Accordingly, the scope of protection of the present invention shall be interpreted solely in accordance with the appended claims, and any ambiguities that may arise in the wording of the claims shall be resolved using these exemplary embodiments.
