Summary of the Invention

Problems to be Solved by the Invention

[0005] In the bumper spacer of Patent Document 1, the pair of spacers can only be fixed in a predetermined posture, and the degree of freedom of the mounting angle to the vehicle body is low.

[0006] In the retainer for bumper mounting of Patent Document 2, since the plurality of retainer pieces are molded in a posture that allows them to be mounted on the vehicle body, the molding die tends to be large, and the molding cost including the cost of the molding die tends to be high.

[0007] In consideration of the above facts, the present disclosure aims to provide a technology that can reduce the molding cost and allows the mounting angle to the vehicle body to be freely set in a retainer for bumper mounting having a plurality of retainer pieces.

Means for Solving the Problems

[0008] A bumper mounting retainer according to a first aspect of the present disclosure is made of a resin material and includes a plurality of retainer pieces for attaching a bumper to a vehicle body, a connecting portion integrated with the retainer pieces and connecting adjacent retainer pieces in a first position when unloaded, and a connecting portion that connects adjacent retainer pieces when they are in a second position with the connecting portion as the mounting angle for attachment to the vehicle body from the first position.

[0009] In the bumper mounting retainer of the first embodiment, by integrally molding the retainer pieces and connecting parts so that adjacent retainer pieces are connected in a first orientation where adjacent retainer pieces are aligned in a straight line, it becomes possible to narrow the width of the molding die compared to the case where the retainer pieces and connecting parts are integrally molded so that adjacent retainer pieces are connected in an orientation where adjacent retainer pieces are aligned in a curve. In other words, it becomes possible to reduce the size of the molding die. This makes it possible to reduce the cost of the molding die.

[0010] Furthermore, in the above-mentioned bumper mounting retainer, the connecting portion that connects adjacent retainer pieces is integrated with the retainer piece, allowing the retainer piece and the connecting portion to be molded together using a single mold. This reduces the cost of the mold compared to, for example, a configuration where the retainer piece and the connecting portion are separate and a mold is prepared for each retainer piece. Moreover, because the above-mentioned bumper mounting retainer has the connecting portion that connects adjacent retainer pieces integrated with the retainer piece, it can be manufactured in a single molding process, thus improving productivity compared to, for example, a configuration where the retainer piece and the connecting portion are separate and assembly is required.

[0011] Therefore, according to the bumper mounting retainer of the first embodiment, it is possible to reduce the molding cost of the bumper mounting retainer.

[0012] In the bumper mounting retainer described above, the connecting portion connects adjacent retainer pieces when they are in a second position, moving from a first position (unloaded state) to a second position, with the connecting portion as the center. By setting the second position of adjacent retainer pieces and the connecting portion according to the mounting angle, it becomes possible to freely set the mounting angle of the bumper mounting retainer.

[0013] Based on the above, the bumper mounting retainer of the first embodiment makes it possible to freely set the mounting angle to the vehicle body while reducing molding costs.

[0014] A bumper mounting retainer according to a second aspect of the present disclosure is a bumper mounting retainer according to a first aspect, wherein the connecting portion has a flexible shape.

[0015] In the bumper mounting retainer of the second embodiment, the orientation of adjacent retainer pieces changes due to the flexibility of the connecting portion. In this bumper mounting retainer, by making the connecting portion, which is integrated with the retainer piece, a flexible shape, the retainer piece and the connecting portion can be formed from the same resin material. This improves the productivity of the bumper mounting retainer compared to, for example, a configuration in which the retainer piece and the connecting portion are formed from different materials. As a result, it becomes possible to further reduce the molding cost of the bumper mounting retainer.

[0016] A third aspect of the bumper mounting retainer of the present disclosure is a bumper mounting retainer of the second aspect, wherein the connecting portion has a shape having a plurality of curved portions.

[0017] In the bumper mounting retainer of the third embodiment, the connecting portion has a shape having multiple curved portions, so when the orientation of adjacent retainer pieces is changed, each curved portion undergoes elastic deformation. Therefore, in the above bumper mounting retainer, compared to a configuration in which adjacent retainer pieces are connected by a straight connecting portion, for example, the amount of change in the orientation of adjacent retainer pieces is increased, thus improving the degree of freedom of the mounting angle.

[0018] A bumper mounting retainer according to a fourth aspect of the present disclosure is a bumper mounting retainer according to any one of the first to third aspects, wherein the connecting portion connects the longitudinal ends of adjacent retainer pieces and is positioned between the two ends in the width direction of the retainer pieces in a plan view.

[0019] In the bumper mounting retainer of the fourth embodiment, in a plan view, the connecting portion is positioned between the two ends in the width direction of the retainer piece. Compared to a configuration in which, for example, the connecting portion is formed outside the width direction of the end of the retainer piece in the width direction, it is possible to narrow the width of the mold in the first posture and to suppress interference of the connecting portion with other members when mounted on the vehicle body in the second posture.

[0020] A bumper mounting retainer according to a fifth aspect of the present disclosure is a bumper mounting retainer according to any one aspect of the first to fourth aspects, wherein the connecting portion comprises an engaging portion formed on one of the retainer pieces connected by the connecting portion, and an engaged portion formed on the other retainer piece connected by the connecting portion, with which the engaging portion engages.

[0021] In the bumper mounting retainer of the fifth embodiment, adjacent retainer pieces are connected in the second position by engaging the engaging portion with the engaged portion while the retainer pieces are in the second position, with the retainer pieces in the second position, with the engaging portion in the engaged portion. In other words, the second position of adjacent retainer pieces can be maintained by a simple operation of engaging the engaging portion with the engaged portion.

[0022] A bumper mounting retainer according to a sixth aspect of the present disclosure is a bumper mounting retainer according to a fifth aspect, wherein the engaging portion comprises an elastic plate portion extending from one retainer piece toward the other retainer piece and a claw portion provided at the tip of the elastic plate portion, and the engaged portion comprises an insertion portion into which the tip of the elastic plate portion is inserted and a hook portion provided in the insertion portion into which the claw portion catches.

[0023] In the bumper mounting retainer according to the sixth aspect, when the distal end portion of the elastic plate portion of the engaging portion is inserted into the insertion portion of the engaged portion, the claw portion is caught by the catching portion, and the claw portion is held inside the insertion portion. As a result, the adjacent retainer pieces are connected to each other in the second posture. Further, by elastically deforming the elastic plate portion to disengage the claw portion from the catching portion, the connected state of the adjacent retainer pieces in the second posture can be released. As described above, in the bumper mounting retainer, the posture between adjacent retainer pieces can be switched by a simple operation.

[0024] The bumper mounting retainer according to the seventh aspect of the present disclosure is the bumper mounting retainer according to the sixth aspect, wherein in a state where the claw portion is caught by the catching portion, a space from the distal end portion of the elastic plate portion to the inner wall of the insertion portion constitutes a movement space for the distal end portion of the elastic plate portion.

[0025] In the bumper mounting retainer according to the seventh aspect, when there is an error in the mounting angle to the vehicle body while the adjacent retainer pieces are in the second posture, the error in the mounting angle to the vehicle body can be absorbed by inserting the distal end portion of the elastic plate portion into the deep part of the insertion portion (the deep part of the movement space).

[0026] The bumper mounting retainer according to the eighth aspect of the present disclosure is the bumper mounting retainer according to the sixth aspect or the seventh aspect, wherein the insertion portion is provided with a plurality of the catching portions spaced apart in the moving direction of the claw portion.

[0027] In the bumper mounting retainer according to the eighth aspect, since the insertion portion is provided with a plurality of catching portions spaced apart in the moving direction of the claw portion, the posture between adjacent retainer pieces can be set in multiple stages. Thereby, in the bumper mounting retainer, the mounting angle to the vehicle body can be freely set.

[0028] The bumper mounting retainer according to the ninth aspect of the present disclosure is the bumper mounting retainer according to any one of the sixth aspect to the eighth aspect, wherein a guide portion that guides the distal end portion of the elastic plate portion into the interior of the insertion portion is provided at the entrance of the insertion portion.

[0029] In the bumper mounting retainer of the ninth embodiment, a guide portion is provided at the entrance of the insertion portion, making it easier to insert the tip of the elastic plate portion into the inside of the insertion portion. This makes it easier to hook the claw portion and the hook portion. [Effects of the Invention]

[0032] The embodiments for implementing this disclosure will be described below with reference to the drawings. Components indicated by the same reference numerals in each drawing are considered to be the same or similar components. In the embodiments described below, descriptions and reference numerals that are repeated may be omitted. Furthermore, the drawings used in the following description are all schematic, and the dimensional relationships and ratios of each element shown in the drawings do not necessarily correspond to reality. Also, the dimensional relationships and ratios of each element do not necessarily correspond between multiple drawings.

[0033] [Bumper mounting retainer 20] The bumper mounting retainer 20 of this embodiment (hereinafter simply referred to as "retainer 20") is a component used to attach a bumper to a vehicle body (for example, a body panel), as shown in Figures 1 and 2. This retainer 20 is made of a resin material. Specifically, the retainer 20 of this embodiment is a one-piece molded resin product.

[0034] In Figures 1 and 2, arrow X indicates the longitudinal direction of the retainer 20, and arrow Y indicates the width direction of the retainer 20. Figures 1 and 2 show the side of the retainer 20 that is attached to the vehicle body.

[0035] As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the retainer 20 comprises a plurality of retainer pieces 22, a connecting portion 30, and a linking portion 40. In this embodiment, the retainer 20 comprises two retainer pieces 22. Hereinafter, one of the two retainer pieces 22 (the left side in Figures 1 and 2) will be referred to as retainer piece 22A, and the other retainer piece (the right side in Figures 1 and 2) will be referred to as retainer piece 22B.

[0036] (Retainer piece 22) As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the retainer pieces 22A and 22A are parts that constitute the main body of the retainer 20 and have the function of attaching the bumper to the vehicle body. The retainer pieces 22A and 22A are made of resin material. Specifically, the retainer pieces 22A and 22A are integrally molded from resin material.

[0037] Each of the retainer pieces 22A and 22B is provided with one or more fixing portions 24 for securing the retainer pieces 22A and 22B to the vehicle body. However, this disclosure is not limited to this configuration, and the retainer pieces 22A and 22B may be attached to the vehicle body using, for example, a dedicated component instead of the fixing portions 24, or by screw members or the like.

[0038] Furthermore, each of the retainer pieces 22A and 22B is provided with one or more mounting portions 26 for attaching the bumper to the retainer pieces 22A and 22B. However, this disclosure is not limited to this configuration, and the bumper may be attached to the retainer pieces 22A and 22B using, for example, a dedicated component instead of the mounting portions 26, or the bumper may be attached using a screw member or the like.

[0039] (Connection part 30) As shown in Figure 3, the connecting portion 30 is the part of the retainer 20 that connects retainer piece 22A and retainer piece 22B. The connecting portion 30 is integrally formed with retainer piece 22A and retainer piece 22B. Specifically, the connecting portion 30 is integrally molded with retainer piece 22A and retainer piece 22B.

[0040] Furthermore, in an unloaded state, the connection portion 30 is configured to connect adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B in the first position. Here, as shown in Figures 3 and 6, the position of retainer pieces 22A and 22B when the retainer 20 is molded in the mold 100 is the first position, and no load acts on the retainer pieces 22A and 22B that are molded in this position, i.e., it is an unloaded state. In this embodiment, as an example, the position in which adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B are aligned in a substantially straight line in a plan view is called the first position. Note that "plan view" here refers to the view from the opening and closing direction of the mold 100 (the direction of mold closing and mold opening).

[0041] Furthermore, as shown in Figures 1 and 3, the connecting portion 30 is formed in a flexible shape. Specifically, the connecting portion 30 is a plate shape having a plurality of curved portions 32. More specifically, the connecting portion 30 is a plate shape with alternating convex and concave sections, where the convex and concave sections are formed by the curved portions 32. Therefore, as the curvature of each of the plurality of curved portions 32 changes, the connecting portion 30 undergoes elastic deformation (flexibility), and as shown in Figures 2 and 4, adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B become tilted in a plan view.

[0042] As shown in Figures 1 and 3, the connecting portion 30 connects the longitudinal ends 23 of adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B. Furthermore, the connecting portion 30 is positioned between the widthwise ends of retainer piece 22A in a plan view. Specifically, in an unloaded state, the connecting portion 30 is positioned between the widthwise ends of retainer piece 22A and between the widthwise ends of retainer piece 22B in a plan view. In other words, in an unloaded state, the connecting portion 30 does not protrude from between the widthwise ends of retainer piece 22A and between the widthwise ends of retainer piece 22B in a plan view.

[0043] (Connection part 40) As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the connecting portion 40 is a part of the retainer 20 that has the function of connecting retainer piece 22A and retainer piece 22B. Specifically, the connecting portion 40 is a part that connects retainer piece 22A and retainer piece 22B separately from the connecting portion 30. More specifically, the connecting portion 40 connects adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B with the connecting portion 30 as the center, while the adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B are in a second position (shown in Figure 2) where they are mounted at an angle that allows them to be attached to the vehicle body, rather than in a first position (shown in Figure 1).

[0044] As shown in Figures 3 and 4, the connecting portion 40 comprises an engaging portion 42 and an engaged portion 50. The engaging portion 42 engages with the engaged portion 50 in the second position shown in Figure 2. On the other hand, the engaging portion 42 is not engaged with the engaged portion 50 in the first position shown in Figure 1. Specifically, in the first position, the engaging portion 42 and the engaged portion 50 are in separate positions and therefore cannot be engaged.

[0045] As shown in Figure 1, the engaging portion 42 is formed on the retainer piece 22A. As shown in Figures 3 and 4, the engaging portion 42 comprises an elastic plate portion 46 extending from the retainer piece 22A toward the retainer piece 22B, and a claw portion 48 provided at the tip portion 46A of the elastic plate portion 46. Specifically, the claw portions 48 are provided on both sides of the elastic plate portion 46. Hereinafter, one of the two claw portions 48 (the upper one in Figure 3) will be referred to as claw portion 48A, and the other claw portion will be referred to as claw portion 48B.

[0046] As shown in Figure 1, the engaged portion 50 is formed on the retainer piece 22B. As shown in Figures 3 and 4, the engaged portion 50 includes an insertion portion 52 into which the tip portion 46A of the elastic plate portion 46 of the engaging portion 42 is inserted, and a hook portion 54 provided on the insertion portion 52 into which the claw portion 48 catches. The insertion portion 52 includes a pair of elastic plate portions 52A and 52B arranged opposite each other, and the tip portion 46A of the elastic plate portion 46 of the engaging portion 42 is inserted (inserted) between the pair of elastic plate portions 52A and 52B. In addition, the pair of elastic plate portions 52A and 52B are each provided with a hook portion 54. In the following, of the two hooking parts 54, the hooking part provided on the elastic plate part 52A and into which the claw part 48A catches will be referred to as hooking part 54A, and the hooking part provided on the elastic plate part 52B and into which the claw part 48B catches will be referred to as hooking part 54B.

[0047] Furthermore, as shown in Figure 4, in the insertion portion 52, with the claw portions 48A and 48B hooked onto the hook portions 54A and 54B, the space between the tip portion 46A of the elastic plate portion 46 of the engaging portion 42 and the back wall 52C of the insertion portion 52 constitutes the movement space 53 for the tip portion 46A of the elastic plate portion 46. If the tip portion 46A of the elastic plate portion 46 is further inserted toward the back wall 52C, the position of the adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B changes from the second position.

[0048] As shown in Figures 3 and 4, the entrance to the insertion portion 52 is provided with a guide portion 56 that guides the tip 46A of the elastic plate portion 46 of the engaging portion 42 into the interior of the insertion portion 52. Specifically, the guide portion 56 is a slope that guides the tip 46A of the elastic plate portion 46.

[0049] As shown in Figures 4 and 5, a guide wall 58 is provided at one end of the retainer 20 in the thickness direction of the elastic plate portion 52B, which guides the tip portion 46A of the elastic plate portion 46.

[0050] The connecting portion 40 is integrally formed with the retainer pieces 22A and 22B. Specifically, the connecting portion 40 is integrally molded with the retainer pieces 22A and 22B.

[0051] Next, the effects and advantages of this embodiment will be described. In the retainer 20 of this embodiment, as shown in Figure 1, the retainer pieces 22A, 22B and the connecting portion 30 are integrally molded so that adjacent retainer pieces 22A, 22B are connected in a first position where the adjacent retainer pieces 22A, 22B are arranged in a straight line. This makes it possible to narrow the width of the mold 100 compared to, for example, the case where the retainer pieces 22A, 22B and the connecting portion 30 are integrally molded so that adjacent retainer pieces 22A, 22B are connected in a position where the adjacent retainer pieces 22A, 22B are arranged on a curve. In other words, it is possible to reduce the size of the mold 100. This makes it possible to reduce the cost of the mold 100.

[0052] Furthermore, in the retainer 20, the connecting portion 30 that connects adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B is integrated with the retainer pieces 22A and 22B, allowing the retainer pieces 22A and 22B and the connecting portion 30 to be molded together using a single mold 100. This reduces the cost of the mold 100 compared to a configuration where the retainer pieces 22A and 22B and the connecting portion 30 are separate and a separate mold is required for each retainer piece 22A and 22B. Moreover, because the connecting portion 30 that connects adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B is integrated with the retainer pieces 22A and 22B, the 22A, 22B and the connecting portion 30 can be manufactured in a single molding process. This improves the productivity of the retainer 20 compared to a configuration where the retainer pieces 22A and 22B and the connecting portion 30 are separate and require assembly.

[0053] Therefore, according to the retainer 20 of this embodiment, it is possible to reduce molding costs.

[0054] Then, in the retainer 20, as shown in Figure 2, the connecting portion 40 connects the adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B when they are in a second position from the first position in the unloaded state, with the connecting portion 30 as the center. In this way, by setting the second position of the adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B and the connecting portion 40 according to the mounting angle to the vehicle body, it becomes possible to freely set the mounting angle of the retainer 20.

[0055] Based on the above, the retainer 20 of this embodiment makes it possible to freely set the mounting angle to the vehicle body while reducing molding costs.

[0056] Furthermore, in the retainer 20 of this embodiment, the orientation of adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B changes as the connecting portion 30 becomes flexible. In the retainer 20, by making the connecting portion 30, which is integrated with the retainer pieces 22A and 22B, flexible, the retainer pieces 22A and 22B and the connecting portion 30 can be formed from the same resin material. As a result, the productivity of the retainer 20 can be improved compared to, for example, a configuration in which the retainer pieces 22A and 22B and the connecting portion 30 are formed from different materials. Consequently, the molding cost of the retainer 20 can be further reduced.

[0057] Furthermore, in the retainer 20 of this embodiment, the connecting portion 30 has a shape having multiple curved portions 32, so when the orientation of adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B is changed, each curved portion 32 undergoes elastic deformation. Therefore, in the retainer 20, compared to a configuration in which adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B are connected by a straight connecting portion 30, for example, the amount of change in the orientation of adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B is increased, thus improving the degree of freedom in the mounting angle.

[0058] Furthermore, in the retainer 20 of this embodiment, in a plan view, the connecting portion 30 is positioned between the respective widthwise ends of the retainer pieces 22A and 22B. Compared to a configuration in which, for example, the connecting portion 30 is formed outside the widthwise ends of the respective widthwise ends of the retainer pieces 22A and 22B, it is possible to narrow the width of the mold 100 in the first position, and to suppress interference between the connecting portion 30 and other members when attached to the vehicle body in the second position.

[0059] Furthermore, in the retainer 20 of this embodiment, by engaging the engaging portion 42 with the engaged portion 50 while adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B are in the second position, from the first position in the unloaded state, the adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B are connected in the second position. In other words, the second position of adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B can be maintained with a simple operation of engaging the engaging portion 42 with the engaged portion 50.

[0060] Furthermore, in the retainer 20 of this embodiment, when the tip portion 46A of the elastic plate portion 46 of the engaging portion 42 is inserted into the insertion portion 52 of the engaged portion 50, the claw portions 48A and 48B catch on the hook portions 54A and 54B, and the claw portions 48A and 48B are held within the insertion portion 52. This connects adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B in a second position. Also, by elastically deforming the elastic plate portions 52A and 52B and disengaging the claw portions 48A and 48B from the hook portions 54A and 54B, the connection state of adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B in the second position can be released. In this way, the retainer 20 allows the position of adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B to be switched with a simple operation.

[0061] Furthermore, in the retainer 20 of this embodiment, if there is an error in the mounting angle to the vehicle body when adjacent retainer pieces 22A and 22B are in the second position, the error in the mounting angle to the vehicle body can be absorbed by inserting the tip portion 46A of the elastic plate portion 46 into the back of the insertion portion 52 (the back of the movement space 53).

[0062] Furthermore, in the retainer 20 of this embodiment, a guide portion 56 is provided at the entrance of the insertion portion 52, making it easier to insert the tip portion 46A of the elastic plate portion 46 into the interior of the insertion portion 52. This makes it easier to hook the claw portions 48A, 48B and the hooking portions 54A, 54B.

[0063] [Other embodiments] In the retainer 20 of the embodiment described above, one set of hooking parts 54A, 54B is provided on the insertion part 52, but this disclosure is not limited to this configuration. For example, as shown in the retainer 60 in Figure 7, the insertion part 52 may be provided with multiple sets of hooking parts 54A, 54B spaced apart in the direction of movement of the claw parts 48A, 48B. In this case, since the retainer 60 is provided with multiple sets of hooking parts 54A, 54B spaced apart in the direction of movement of the claw parts 48A, 48B on the insertion part 52, the posture of adjacent retainer pieces 22A, 22B can be set in multiple stages. As a result, the retainer 20 can be freely set to adjust the mounting angle to the vehicle body.

[0064] In the retainer 20 of the embodiment described above, the two retainer pieces 22A and 22B are connected by a single connection part 30. Therefore, even if the retainer has three or more retainer pieces, adjacent retainer pieces only need to be connected by a single connection part.

[0065] In the retainer 20 of the embodiment described above, the two retainer pieces 22A and 22B are connected at a location separate from the connecting portion 30 by the engagement portion 42 engaging with the engaged portion 50, but the present disclosure is not limited to this configuration. For example, the retainer pieces 22A and 22B may be connected by a separate connecting member.

[0066] In the aforementioned embodiment, the retainer 20 is formed by integral molding of the two retainer pieces 22A and 22B, the connecting portion 30, and the linking portion 40 using the same resin material. However, this disclosure is not limited to this configuration. For example, the connecting portion 30 may be formed from a resin material that is easily elastically deformable (flexible) using a molding method such as insert molding.

[0067] In the retainer 20 of the above-described embodiment, claw portions 48A and 48B are provided on the elastic plate portion 46 of the engaging portion 42, and hook portions 54A and 54B are provided on the insertion portion 52 of the engaged portion 50. However, this disclosure is not limited to this configuration. For example, the elastic plate portion 46 may be provided with only the claw portion 48A and the insertion portion 52 may be provided with only the hook portion 54A, or the elastic plate portion 46 may be provided with only the claw portion 48B and the insertion portion 52 may be provided with only the hook portion 54B.

[0068] Although one embodiment of the present disclosure has been described above, the present disclosure is not limited to the above, and it is of course possible to implement it in various other forms without departing from its spirit. [Explanation of Symbols]
