Description
Resin composition, resin additive composition, resin structure, method for improving weather resistance, method for producing resin composition, and hindered amine light stabilizer
[0001] The present invention relates to a resin composition, a resin additive composition, a resin structure, a method for improving weather resistance, a method for producing a resin composition, and a hindered amine-based light stabilizer.
[0002] Various techniques for modifying resin compositions have been developed to date. One such technique is described in Patent Document 1. Patent Document 1 proposes a polyolefin resin composition containing a polyolefin resin with a melt index of 6 to 60 g / 10 min, titanium oxide, and a specific hindered amine stabilizer. It is disclosed that this polyolefin resin composition has excellent weather resistance and light resistance and is resistant to discoloration over time, despite containing a polyolefin resin with a high melt index as a resin component (see, for example, claim 1 of Patent Document 1).
[0003] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2005-47942
[0004] However, as a result of investigations by the present inventors, it has been found that the polyolefin resin composition described in Patent Document 1 has room for improvement in terms of weather resistance and color tone controllability.
[0005]

[0008] According to the present invention, there are provided a resin composition, a resin additive composition, a resin structure, a method for improving weather resistance, a method for producing a resin composition, and a hindered amine-based light stabilizer, all of which are excellent in weather resistance and color controllability.
[0009] The resin composition of this embodiment will be outlined below.
[0010] The resin composition of this embodiment includes a synthetic resin, a hindered amine-based light stabilizer, and a photocatalyst, and has a configuration in which the content of the photocatalyst per 100 parts by mass of the synthetic resin is 0.001 parts by mass or more and less than 0.5 parts by mass.
[0011] The present inventors have found that a photocatalyst acts as an auxiliary agent for a hindered amine light stabilizer. Based on this finding, the present inventors have conducted further research and have succeeded in improving the weather resistance of a resin composition by adding a hindered amine light stabilizer and a photocatalyst to a synthetic resin.
[0012] Although the detailed mechanism is unclear, oxidation by the photocatalyst holes generated by light irradiation regenerates the nitroxyl radical (-NO.) species of the hindered amine light stabilizer. In other words, the nitroxyl radical (-NO.) species of the hindered amine light stabilizer reacts with the resin degradation factor (R.) generated by light irradiation to become the (-NOR) species, and this (-NOR) species is oxidized by the photocatalyst holes generated under light irradiation to become the (-NO.) species again. This is thought to enable the weather resistance effect to be stably expressed.
[0013] According to the present embodiment, based on the above-described knowledge of the regeneration mechanism of nitroxyl radical (—NO.) species, a method for improving the weather resistance of a resin composition containing a synthetic resin (weather resistance improving method) can be provided, which includes a step of adding a hindered amine light stabilizer and a photocatalyst to the synthetic resin.
[0014] Furthermore, according to the findings of the present inventors, increasing the amount of photocatalyst added can improve the weather resistance of a resin composition containing a synthetic resin and a hindered amine-based light stabilizer, while also increasing the light reflectivity of the resin composition. As a result, when coloring the resin composition by adding a pigment or other methods, light reflection and scattering affect the color tone, making it difficult to achieve the desired color tone in a resin structure formed from the resin composition. In other words, increasing the amount of photocatalyst added may reduce the color tone controllability of the resin composition. From the perspective of color tone controllability, in this embodiment, in a resin composition containing a synthetic resin and a hindered amine-based light stabilizer, it is preferable that the content of photocatalyst per 100 parts by mass of synthetic resin is less than 0.5 parts by mass.
[0015] From the viewpoint of such weather resistance and color controllability, according to the present embodiment, it is possible to provide a method for improving the weather resistance and color controllability of a resin composition containing a synthetic resin (a method for improving weather resistance and color controllability), which includes a step of adding a hindered amine light stabilizer and a photocatalyst to a synthetic resin so that the amount of the photocatalyst added is 0.001 part by mass or more and less than 0.5 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the synthetic resin.
[0016] The configuration of the resin composition of this embodiment will be described in detail below.

[0042] Specific examples of the compound represented by the general formula (5) include the following Compound No. 12 and Compound No. 13.
[0043]
[0044]
[0045] The content of the hindered amine light stabilizer in the resin composition may be, for example, from 0.001 to 5 parts by mass, preferably from 0.005 to 3 parts by mass, more preferably from 0.01 to 0.3 parts by mass, and even more preferably from 0.02 to 0.1 parts by mass, relative to 100 parts by mass of the synthetic resin. By setting the content of the hindered amine light stabilizer in the resin composition within the above range, the weather resistance of the resin composition can be improved. Furthermore, by setting the content of the hindered amine light stabilizer in the resin composition within the above range, blooming or bleeding of the hindered amine light stabilizer from the resin composition can be sufficiently suppressed.
[0046] In another embodiment, the above-described hindered amine light stabilizer can be used for blending into a resin composition having weather resistance as described above. That is, the above-described hindered amine light stabilizer can be used as a hindered amine light stabilizer for use in a resin composition that includes a synthetic resin, a hindered amine light stabilizer, and a photocatalyst, and in which the content of the photocatalyst per 100 parts by mass of the synthetic resin is 0.001 parts by mass or more and less than 0.5 parts by mass.
[0047] The photocatalyst is a semiconductor having a band gap corresponding to the wavelength of ultraviolet and visible light. Examples of the photocatalyst contained in the resin composition of this embodiment include metal oxides such as titanium oxide, zinc oxide, tungsten oxide, tin oxide, niobium oxide, and strontium titanate. From the viewpoint of improving the weather resistance of the resin composition, the photocatalyst preferably contains titanium oxide, zinc oxide, or tungsten oxide, more preferably titanium oxide or zinc oxide, and even more preferably titanium oxide. The metal oxides may be used alone or in combination of two or more.
[0048] When the photocatalyst contains titanium oxide, the titanium oxide may be, for example, rutile titanium oxide, anatase titanium oxide, a mixture of rutile titanium oxide and anatase titanium oxide, etc. From the viewpoint of further improving the weather resistance of the resin composition, the titanium oxide preferably contains rutile titanium oxide, and particularly preferably consists of rutile titanium oxide alone.
[0049] The photocatalyst may be a photocatalyst particle whose surface has been subjected to an inorganic and / or organic treatment, or a particle that has not been subjected to such a surface treatment. The photocatalyst may also be a particle whose surface is supported by iron, copper, or the like.
[0050] The average particle diameter of the photocatalyst particles is, for example, 0.01 μm or more and 1.00 μm or less, preferably 0.03 μm or more and 0.50 μm or less, more preferably 0.05 μm or more and 0.40 μm or less, even more preferably 0.10 μm or more and 0.30 μm or less, and even more preferably 0.15 μm or more and 0.25 μm or less. By setting it within such a range, the dispersibility of the photocatalyst in the resin composition can be improved. Furthermore, by setting it within such a range, the reflection and scattering of light by the photocatalyst in the resin composition can be sufficiently suppressed, and the color controllability of the resin composition can be improved. In this embodiment, the average particle diameter of the photocatalyst particles refers to the average value (μm) of 100 particles measured by observation with an electron microscope.
[0051] The content of the photocatalyst in the resin composition is 0.001 parts by mass or more but less than 0.5 parts by mass, preferably 0.003 parts by mass or more but less than 0.3 parts by mass, more preferably 0.005 parts by mass or more but less than 0.1 parts by mass, even more preferably 0.007 parts by mass or more but less than 0.05 parts by mass, even more preferably 0.008 parts by mass or more but less than 0.03 parts by mass, and particularly preferably 0.01 parts by mass or more but less than 0.02 parts by mass, relative to 100 parts by mass of the synthetic resin. By setting the content of the photocatalyst in the resin composition within the above range, the weather resistance of the resin composition can be improved. Furthermore, by setting the content of the photocatalyst in the resin composition within the above range, light reflection and scattering by the photocatalyst in the resin composition can be sufficiently suppressed, thereby improving the color tone controllability of the resin composition.
[0052] When the content of the photocatalyst in the resin composition is A (mass%) and the content of the hindered amine light stabilizer is B (mass%), the value of A / B is, for example, 0.001 to 10, preferably 0.005 to 1.0, more preferably 0.01 to 0.6, even more preferably 0.05 to 0.5, and still more preferably 0.1 to 0.3. By setting the value of A / B within the above range, it is possible to achieve a balance between weather resistance and color tone controllability in the resin composition.
[0053] In this embodiment, the resin composition may contain additional components other than those described above, as necessary. Examples of these additional components include antioxidants such as phenolic antioxidants, phosphorus-based antioxidants, and sulfur-based antioxidants, UV absorbers, benzoate-based light stabilizers, fatty acid metal salts, dispersants, lubricants, hydrotalcites, flame retardants, flame retardant assistants, fillers, antistatic agents, fluorescent brighteners, colorants, curing accelerator catalysts, organic solvents, water, anti-yellowing agents, leveling agents, defoamers, thickeners, anti-settling agents, and anti-fogging agents. Examples of colorants include pigments and dyes. The resin composition of this embodiment preferably does not contain a colorant (except for photocatalysts). In other words, the resin composition of this embodiment is preferably uncolored.
[0054] Next, one of the characteristics of the resin composition will be described. The resin composition was molded into a plate-like molded product having a thickness of 2 mm, and the relative diffuse reflectance spectrum of this molded product was measured using barium sulfate as a standard white plate. The relative diffuse reflectance (%) at a wavelength of 370 nm was calculated as ρ 1 and the relative diffuse reflectance (%) at 420 nm is ρ 2 In this case, ρ 2 / ρ 1 The value of ρ may be, for example, 0.80 or more and 8.0 or less, preferably 0.95 or more and 7.0 or less, more preferably 1.00 or more and 5.00 or less, even more preferably 1.20 or more and 3.00 or less, still more preferably 1.30 or more and 2.50 or less, and particularly preferably 1.50 or more and 2.00 or less. 2 / ρ 1 When the value of ρ is within the above range, the weather resistance of the resin composition can be further improved.2 / ρ 1 When the value of is within the above range, reflection and scattering of light in the visible wavelength region are suppressed, and therefore color tone controllability in the resin composition can be improved.
[0055] Also, ρ 1 The value of ρ may be, for example, 0% or more and 20% or less, preferably 0.5% or more and 16% or less, more preferably 1% or more and 15% or less, even more preferably 3% or more and 12% or less, and even more preferably 5% or more and 11% or less. Since 370 nm is a wavelength that contributes to photodegradation in synthetic resins, ρ 1 By setting the value of in the above range, the weather resistance of the resin composition can be further improved.
[0056] The method for producing the resin composition of this embodiment is not particularly limited, and any conventionally known method can be used. The method for producing the resin composition includes a step of adding a hindered amine light stabilizer and a photocatalyst to a synthetic resin. In the adding step of the method for producing the resin composition, the amount of the photocatalyst added per 100 parts by mass of the synthetic resin is preferably 0.001 parts by mass or more and less than 0.5 parts by mass.
[0057] One example of a method for producing the resin composition involves premixing a synthetic resin, a hindered amine light stabilizer, a photocatalyst, and, if necessary, other additive components using various mixers such as a tumbler mixer or an FM mixer, followed by melt-kneading using a Banbury mixer, a roll mill, a Brabender, a single-screw kneading extruder, a twin-screw kneading extruder, a kneader, or the like. The melt-kneading temperature may be, for example, a processing temperature of 100°C to 280°C. Alternatively, the resin composition may be produced by premixing the components, or by premixing only some of the components, feeding the mixture into an extruder using a feeder, and melt-kneading the mixture. Furthermore, a resin composition obtained by premixing some of the components and feeding it into an extruder for melt-kneading can be used as a masterbatch, which can then be mixed with other components and melt-kneaded again to produce a resin composition. The synthetic resin used in the mixing and kneading process may have a predetermined shape, such as powder, pellets, or fibers.
[0058] The resin composition of the present embodiment may be, for example, solid, and may have a specific shape such as powder, granules, pellets, briquettes, tablets, or sheets. The resin composition of the present embodiment may also be a liquid, slurry, emulsion, or paste.
[0059] The resin additive composition of the present embodiment is an additive used to produce the resin composition by adding it to a synthetic resin. This resin additive composition contains at least a hindered amine-based light stabilizer and a photocatalyst.
[0060] The resin additive composition may be in the form of, for example, pellets, pills, powder, etc. From the viewpoint of suppressing exudation of the components, pellets or pills are preferred, and pellets are particularly preferred.
[0061] Examples of the hindered amine contained in the resin additive composition include the same hindered amines as those exemplified as the hindered amines contained in the resin composition described above. Examples of the photocatalyst contained in the resin additive composition include the same photocatalysts as those exemplified as the photocatalysts contained in the resin composition described above. When the content of the photocatalyst in the resin additive composition is A' (mass%) and the content of the hindered amine light stabilizer is B' (mass%), the value of A' / B' may be within the same numerical range as the value of A / B in the resin composition described above. The resin additive composition may not contain a synthetic resin, but may be a masterbatch containing a synthetic resin in addition to the hindered amine light stabilizer and photocatalyst. When the resin additive composition is a masterbatch containing a synthetic resin, the content of the hindered amine light stabilizer in the resin additive composition is not particularly limited, but may be, for example, greater than 10 parts by mass per 100 parts by weight of the synthetic resin. When the resin additive composition is a masterbatch containing a synthetic resin, the content of the hindered amine light stabilizer in the resin additive composition is preferably more than 20 parts by mass, more preferably 25 parts by mass or more, even more preferably 30 parts by mass or more, and even more preferably 40 parts by mass or more. Furthermore, the resin additive composition may contain additional components other than the hindered amine light stabilizer and photocatalyst, which are exemplified as components that can be contained as necessary in the above-mentioned resin composition.
[0062] The resin structure of this embodiment is not particularly limited as long as it is formed from the above-mentioned resin composition. The resin structure may be partially or entirely composed of the resin composition. However, it is preferable that the resin structure is entirely composed of the resin composition. Specific examples of the resin structure include a molded product obtained by molding the resin composition and a coating film obtained by curing a paint made of the resin composition. Among these, a molded product obtained by molding the resin composition is preferred.
[0063] Examples of molded articles include injection-molded articles, fibers, biaxially oriented films, uniaxially oriented films, non-oriented films, sheets, thermoforming-molded articles, extrusion blow-molded articles, injection blow-molded articles, injection stretch-blow-molded articles, profile extrusion-molded articles, rotational molded articles, etc. More specifically, examples of coating films include vehicle components, building materials, agricultural materials, films, sheets, etc. Examples of coating films include coating films obtained by applying a paint made of a resin composition to a substrate made of a metal such as a zinc-plated steel sheet, a zinc alloy-plated steel sheet, a stainless steel sheet, or a tin-plated steel sheet, or a resin such as a polymethyl methacrylate resin, a polycarbonate resin, a polyester resin, a polystyrene resin, an ABS resin, an AS resin, a polyamide resin, a polyarylate resin, a polymethacrylimide resin, or a polyallyl diglycol carbonate resin, by a known method such as brushing, bar coating, spray coating, dip coating, spin coating, or curtain coating to form a paint layer, and then curing the paint layer by a known method such as room temperature curing, heat curing, or ultraviolet irradiation.
[0064] Although the embodiments of the present invention have been described above, these are merely examples of the present invention, and various other configurations may be adopted. Furthermore, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and modifications and improvements within the scope of achieving the object of the present invention are included in the present invention.
[0065] The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to examples, but the present invention is not limited to the descriptions of these examples.

The resulting mixture was melt-kneaded using a twin-screw extruder (TEX28V, manufactured by The Japan Steel Works, Ltd.) at a melt temperature of 230°C and a screw speed of 150 rpm, granulated, and then dried at 60°C for 8 hours to produce a pellet-shaped resin composition. Here, in Tables 1 and 2, the blending ratios of each component are expressed in parts by mass.

[0072]
[0073]
[0074] <Evaluation of Properties> The resulting resin compositions were evaluated for the following items.
[0075] (Color Tone Controllability) The obtained resin composition was injection molded under conditions of a resin temperature of 230° C. and a mold temperature of 40° C. to prepare a plate-shaped test piece having a thickness of 2 mm. The relative diffuse reflectance spectrum of this test piece was measured using a UV-visible spectrophotometer (manufactured by JASCO Corporation, V-750) using barium sulfate as a standard white plate, and the relative diffuse reflectance (%) at a wavelength of 370 nm was calculated as ρ 1 , the relative diffuse reflectance (%) at 420 nm is ρ 2 For Examples 1 to 10 and Comparative Examples 1 to 6, ρ 1 , ρ 2 and ρ 2 / ρ 1 Indicates the value of
[0076] (Weather Resistance) The above test pieces were placed in a weather resistance tester (manufactured by Suga Test Instruments, xenon weather meter) and subjected to a weather resistance test under the conditions specified in SAEJ2412. The gloss (gloss value) of each test piece was measured before and during the weather resistance test, and the time (h) from the start of the test until the gloss of the test piece became 80% or less of the gloss before the weather resistance test was defined as the "80% gloss retention time," which was used as an index of weather resistance. The gloss of the test piece was measured using a gloss meter (manufactured by Nippon Denshoku Industries, VG-2000) at a measurement accuracy of 60°. Tables 1 and 2 show the 80% gloss retention times for Examples 1 to 10 and Comparative Examples 1 to 6.
[0077] The resin compositions of Examples 1 to 10 exhibited a longer 80% gloss retention time than the resin compositions of Comparative Examples 1 to 2 and 4 to 6, and therefore showed excellent weather resistance. In addition, the resin compositions of Examples 1 to 10 exhibited a lower relative diffuse reflectance ρ at 420 nm than the resin composition of Comparative Example 3. 2 In other words, when the resin compositions of Examples 1 to 10 are colored by adding a pigment or other methods, the effect of reflection and scattering of light in the visible light region on the color tone is reduced, and therefore it was found that the resin compositions of Examples 1 to 10 are superior in color tone controllability compared to the resin composition of Comparative Example 3.
[0078] (Example 11, Comparative Examples 7 to 9) <Production of Film Made of Resin Composition> 100 parts by mass of the following synthetic resin 2, the above hindered amine-based light stabilizer 5 and the photocatalyst (the above titanium oxide 1) in the blending ratios shown in Table 3, 0.05 parts by mass of octadecyl 3-(3',5'-di-tert-butyl-4'-hydroxyphenyl)propionate as a phenol-based antioxidant, 0.05 parts by mass of tris(2,4-di-tert-butylphenyl)phosphite as a phosphorus-based antioxidant, 0.05 parts by mass of calcium stearate as a fatty acid metal salt, and 0.2 parts by mass of a dispersant (nonionic surfactant manufactured by Marubishi Yuka Kogyo Co., Ltd., trade name "Denon 3000") were blended and mixed uniformly, and the resulting mixture was then passed through a melt kneading machine (manufactured by Toyo Seiki Seisaku-sho, Ltd.) connected to a small single-screw extruder (D1220B manufactured by Toyo Seiki Seisaku-sho, Ltd.) and a T-die (MT60B manufactured by Toyo Seiki Seisaku-sho, Ltd.). The mixture was charged into a Labo Plastomill Micro, melt-kneaded at a melt temperature of 200°C and a screw speed of 20 rpm, and then molded into a film having a thickness of 50 μm at a T-die temperature of 190°C and a roll temperature of 40°C. In Table 3, the blending ratio of each component is expressed in parts by mass.
[0079] The raw material information shown in Table 3 is as follows: (Synthetic Resins) Synthetic Resin 2: Linear low-density polyethylene (manufactured by Japan Polyethylene Corporation: product name "Harmolex NF464N"
[0080]
[0081] <Characteristics Evaluation> (Weather Resistance) The film obtained as described above was cut into a rectangle of 30 mm x 60 mm, and the test sample was placed in a weather resistance tester (a xenon weather meter manufactured by Ametek Co., Ltd., device name "Atlas Ci4000"), and a weather resistance test was carried out under the conditions in Table 4 in accordance with the standard of ISO 4892-2.
[0082]
[0083] The time (h) from the start of the test until breakage of the test sample was visually confirmed was measured and used as an index of weather resistance. The results are also shown in Table 3.
[0084] The film made of the resin composition of Example 11 showed results superior to the films made of the resin compositions of Comparative Examples 7 to 9 in weather resistance.
