Abstract
Description
Coating composition for solar cell elements, solar cell module, and method for producing the same
[0001] The present invention relates to a coating composition for a solar cell element, a solar cell module, and a method for producing the same.
[0002] In recent years, research and development has been progressing on flexible solar cells that emphasize cost reduction and design, see-through solar cells, lightweight and easy-to-handle organic thin-film solar cells, and solar cells with a perovskite compound in the power generation layer (hereinafter referred to as "perovskite solar cells") that combine low cost and high efficiency. Perovskite solar cells can be manufactured more inexpensively than crystalline silicon solar cells and have high power generation efficiency. Perovskite solar cells are obtained by sequentially stacking, from the light-receiving side, a light-transmitting substrate or film, a transparent conductive film, an electron transport layer, a power generation layer, a hole transport layer, and a back electrode. In the so-called modularization process for sealing the above-mentioned elements, a structure in which an encapsulant is applied to the back side of the back electrode and the backmost side is sealed with a substrate or film has been investigated. Various proposals have been made, including a structure using glass or the like for the light-receiving side light-transmitting substrate and the backmost side substrate, and a flexible structure using a light-transmitting film on the light-receiving side and a film on the backmost side.
[0003] However, perovskite compounds are susceptible to water vapor, and because solar cells are exposed to harsh outdoor environments for long periods of time, perovskite solar cell modules are required to have a high level of water vapor blocking capability.
[0004] For electronic devices susceptible to water vapor, various techniques have been introduced to form a water vapor barrier layer on the element prior to the sealing process. For example, Patent Document 1 introduces a three-layer barrier coating technology containing silicon, oxygen, and carbon. A flexible and mechanically strong water vapor barrier film is formed using plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (CVD). However, plasma-enhanced CVD requires the device to be placed in a vacuum chamber and processed in a vacuum environment, making it difficult to scale up the device. Furthermore, the process involves vacuum and atmospheric exposure, which inevitably increases the complexity and cost of the process. Patent Document 2 also introduces a technology for forming a ZnO-SiO2-Al2O3 film using direct current (DC) sputtering. DC sputtering also requires a vacuum environment and presents similar challenges in terms of process complexity.

[0067] [2] Production of Solar Cell Modules [Examples 2-1 to 2-5, Comparative Examples 2-1 to 2-3] Solar cell modules were produced using the solar cell element coating compositions obtained in Examples 1-1 to 1-5 and Comparative Examples 1-1 to 1-3 according to the following procedure.
[0068] As shown in Figure 2, a perovskite solar cell element 2 (size 25 x 25 mm) having a transparent conductive film, an electron transport layer, a perovskite layer, and a hole transport layer sequentially laminated on a glass substrate (size 50 x 50 mm, thickness 3.2 mm) serving as a light-receiving surface light-transmitting substrate 1, with a positive electrode formed on the hole transport layer, was laminated so as to be positioned at the center of the light-receiving surface light-transmitting substrate 1, thereby obtaining a perovskite solar cell cell for evaluation 11. Next, as shown in Figure 3, a fluororesin adhesive tape (thickness 0.25 mm, width 3 x 3 mm, Chukoh Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.) was provided as a dam material 6 around the outer periphery of the light-receiving surface light-transmitting substrate 1. A solar cell element coating composition was then applied to the perovskite solar cell element 2 to a thickness of 0.1 mm.
[0069] In Examples 1-1 to 1-5, the solar cell element coating composition was applied onto the perovskite solar cell element 2, and then ultraviolet light was irradiated from above at 25°C with an intensity of 100 mW / cm using a metal halide lamp (HANDY UV-100, manufactured by Oak Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (OCR)). 2 The cumulative irradiation dose is 3,000 mJ / cm 2 The coating composition was then heated at 60°C for 1 hour to cure the solar cell element coating composition, thereby obtaining a water vapor barrier layer 3. A glass back substrate 5 (size: 50 × 50 mm, thickness: 3.2 mm) was then placed on top of the dam material 6, and the back surface was fixed with polyimide tape 7 so that the back substrate 5 would not come off, thereby obtaining a perovskite solar cell module 12 for evaluation.
[0070] In Comparative Examples 1-1 to 1-3, the solar cell element coating composition was applied onto the perovskite solar cell element 2, and then the solar cell element coating composition was cured by heating for 1 hour at 100° C. Thereafter, a glass substrate (size 50×50 mm, thickness 3.2 mm) serving as the rear substrate 5 was placed on top of the dam material 6, and the rear surface was fixed with polyimide tape 7 so that the rear substrate 5 would not come off, thereby obtaining a perovskite solar cell module 12 for evaluation.
[0071] [Initial Output Maintenance Rate] The obtained perovskite solar cell evaluation body was irradiated with light from the surface direction of the light-transmitting substrate 1 using a simulated solar light irradiation device, and the output (W1) of the evaluation perovskite solar cell module 12 was measured. The output (W1) of the evaluation perovskite solar cell module 12 and the output (W1) of the evaluation perovskite solar cell 11 before modularization were measured. c ) and the initial output maintenance rate (%) was calculated. The initial output maintenance rate was evaluated as ◯ when it was 95% or more, and x when it was less than 95%. The results are shown in Table 2. Initial output maintenance rate (%) = (W1 / W c ) x 100
[0072] [Output Maintenance Rate After Moisture Resistance Test] Furthermore, the output (W2) of the perovskite solar cell module 12 for evaluation after 500 hours of exposure to an environment of 60°C and 90% RH was measured in the same manner as above, and the output maintenance rate (%) after the moisture resistance test was calculated. The output maintenance rate after the moisture resistance test was evaluated as ◯ when it was 80% or more, and x when it was less than 80%. The results are shown in Table 2. Output maintenance rate after moisture resistance test (%) = (W2 / W c ) x 100
[0073]
[0074] As shown in Table 2, the perovskite solar cells having a water vapor barrier layer made of the cured product of the solar cell element coating composition of Examples 1-1 to 1-5 exhibited good output retention even when exposed to an environment of 60°C and 90% RH for 500 hours. On the other hand, the perovskite solar cells using the compositions of Comparative Examples 1-1 to 1-3 exhibited low initial output retention and were not suitable for conducting a humidity resistance test. This is thought to be because the perovskite solar cell elements, which are sensitive to heat, were damaged by heating to 100°C when the water vapor barrier layer was formed, resulting in a decrease in output.
