AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing planogram data generation techniques fail to accurately account for stockouts when generating data from images of product shelves, leading to incomplete and inaccurate shelf allocation information.

Method used

A planogram data generation device and system that acquires and processes images of product shelves to identify out-of-stock areas, determining a second image based on these areas and generating planogram data that takes stockouts into consideration, using image recognition technology and product databases to estimate out-of-stock products and their locations.

Benefits of technology

Improves the accuracy of planogram data by accounting for stockouts, enabling more precise shelf allocation and maintaining high accuracy even with images containing out-of-stock areas, thereby enhancing retail store operations.

Abstract

[Problem] To provide a planogram data generation device, a planogram data generation system, a planogram data generation method, and a storage medium that make it possible to, on the basis of an image that includes a product shelf on which products are displayed, generate planogram data that takes into account stockouts. [Solution] Provided is a planogram data generation device comprising: an image acquisition means for acquiring a first image that includes a product shelf on which products are displayed; an identification means for identifying a stockout area of the product shelf that is included in the first image; and a generation means for determining a second image from among a plurality of the first images on the basis of the stockout area and generating planogram data on the product shelf on the basis of the second image.
