Hybrid solar powered boat system

Abstract

A hybrid solar-powered boat where solar energy is captured by the photovoltaic panels (4) which is mounted on the canopy of the hull (1) and converted into direct current (DC) electricity. The charge controller (5) regulates the power input to the battery bank (3), preventing overcharging and ensuring stable voltage levels. The stored power is supplied to the electric motor (6), which provides propulsion to the vessel. The control console (2) allows the operator to select between full-electric or hybrid propulsion modes depending on power availability and desired performance. The hybrid solar powered boat can also be charged via a shoresolar array (9) fixed on a shore based solar charging facility (10).In hybrid operation, the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) (7) may directly drive the propeller shaft or act as a generator to maintain charge within the battery system.
