System and method for providing port usage status using ship location data

Abstract

The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for providing information on port usage conditions. According to the present invention, in order to solve the problems of conventional port operation and management systems and methods, which mostly present only content for the operation or management of the port and have limitations in not providing various port usage condition information such as waiting time, operation time, anchoring time, and delay time occurring during the berthing or arrival of a vessel, a system and method for providing port usage conditions using vessel location data are provided. This is configured to provide various port usage condition information, including waiting time, operation time, anchoring time, and delay time occurring during the berthing or arrival of a vessel, in real time using only vessel track information collected through an Automatic Identification System (AIS). This enables the improvement of management and operational efficiency regarding various facilities and cargo at the port, while simultaneously assisting in the establishment of optimal entry and exit plans that allow for economical operation of each vessel.
