Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a control method for a dishwasher, and more specifically, to a control method for a dishwasher equipped with a heat pump system for heating washing water. Background Technology
[0002] The content described in this section merely provides background information regarding the present invention and does not constitute prior art.
[0003] A dishwasher is a device that uses detergent and washing water to clean dirt, such as food residue, stuck to dishes or cooking utensils.
[0004] A typical dishwasher includes a tub that provides a washing space, a rack provided within the tub for holding dishes, a spray arm that sprays wash water onto the rack, a sump that stores wash water, and a pump that supplies wash water stored in the sump to the spray arm.
[0005] The washing water used in a dishwasher may be at room temperature, but using high-temperature washing water can improve washing efficiency and reduce washing time. Therefore, washing or rinsing of dishes can be performed using high-temperature washing water in at least some of the processes during the operation of the dishwasher.
[0006] A heating device for heating the washing water may be equipped with, for example, an electric heater of the electric heating type, a heat pump system, etc.
[0007] Since heat pump systems are more energy-efficient than electric heaters, the adoption of heat pump systems for heating wash water in dishwashers has been increasing recently.
[0008] A heat pump system may be equipped with a condenser that heats the wash water by exchanging heat between the high-temperature refrigerant and the relatively low-temperature wash water. The wash water can be heated to a high temperature as it passes through the condenser.
[0009] In the condenser, the refrigerant and the wash water can flow separately. Accordingly, heat is transferred from the high-temperature refrigerant to the wash water, causing the refrigerant to condense and the wash water to heat. To increase the interface between the wash water and the refrigerant—that is, the heat exchange surface area—the flow path of the wash water may be composed of multiple tubes.
[0010] Since multiple tubes are arranged in the condenser, the flushing water may flow through a single large-diameter pipe and then through a small-diameter tube. Due to the relatively small diameter of this tube, clogging may occur.
[0011] Wash water flowing through the tubes can circulate through the dishwasher by the wash pump. As a result, as dishwashing proceeds, foreign substances attached to the surface of the dishes may be contained in the circulating wash water.
[0012] If foreign substances contained in the flushing water enter a tube with a small diameter, they may not be able to pass through the tube and can adhere to the inner surface of the tube. If this flushing water circulation process continues, the amount of foreign substances adhering to the inner surface of the tube may continue to increase.
[0013] Therefore, continuous use of the dishwasher causes foreign matter to accumulate inside the tubes, which can impair the flow of wash water in the condenser. If this phenomenon persists, at least some of the tubes may eventually become clogged, leading to a more rapid deterioration in wash water flow.
[0014] As a result, damage to the condenser may occur, the dishwasher's operation may deteriorate, and in severe cases, the dishwasher may stop working.
[0015] Therefore, it is necessary to develop a control method that detects the accumulation of foreign substances in the condenser. In addition, it is necessary to develop a method to remove foreign substances from the condenser when such accumulation is detected.
[0016] In addition, foreign substances can accumulate on the spray arm that sprays washing water onto the dishes, so it is necessary to develop a method to detect this and remove the foreign substances from the spray arm. The problem to be solved
[0017] The objective of the present invention is to provide a control method for a dishwasher having a structure that detects foreign matter accumulated in a spray arm or a condenser.
[0018] In addition, the objective of the present invention is to provide a control method for a dishwasher having a structure for removing foreign matter from a condenser when foreign matter is detected accumulating in a spray arm or a condenser.
[0019] In addition, the objective of the present invention is to provide a control method for a dishwasher having a structure that detects foreign matter accumulated in a spray arm or condenser and removes the foreign matter without adding a separate device to the dishwasher.
[0020] The objects of the present invention are not limited to those mentioned above, and other unmentioned objects and advantages of the present invention may be understood from the following description and will be more clearly understood from the embodiments of the present invention. Furthermore, it will be readily apparent that the objects and advantages of the present invention can be realized by the means and combinations thereof set forth in the claims. means of solving the problem
[0021] A dishwasher according to one embodiment may include a tub in which dishes are received.
[0022] The dishwasher is equipped in a tub and sprays washing water, and may include multiple spray arms.
[0023] A dishwasher may include a compressor that compresses the refrigerant.
[0024] A dishwasher may include a condenser connected to a compressor. In the condenser, heat exchange can occur as the wash water and refrigerant flow separately.
[0025] The dishwasher may include a wash pump connected to a condenser. The wash pump can transport wash water.
[0026] In one embodiment, the dishwasher control method can have a control unit measure an operation value generated by the operation of at least one of a compressor or a wash pump.
[0027] Next, the control unit can compare the operating value with the set value.
[0028] If the operating value exceeds the set value, the control unit may determine that at least one of the compressor or injection arm is clogged by foreign matter.
[0029] The dishwasher may include a switching valve that operates to selectively supply washing water to at least one of a plurality of spray arms.
[0030] Next, when the operating value exceeds the set value, the control unit can operate a switching valve to change the spray arm to which the cleaning water is supplied among the plurality of spray arms to which the cleaning water is supplied.
[0031] Next, the control unit can compare the operating value with the set value again.
[0032] Next, the control unit can generate an alarm indicating that the injection arm is blocked by foreign matter when the operating value is below the set value.
[0033] Next, the control unit can generate an alarm indicating that the condenser is clogged by foreign matter when the operating value exceeds the set value.
[0034] The operating value may be the current value applied to the cleaning pump.
[0035] In another embodiment, the operating value may be the temperature value of the compressor outlet.
[0036] The control unit can remove foreign substances accumulated in the injection arm or condenser.
[0037] In the step of removing foreign substances accumulated in the spray arm or condenser, the RPM value of the motor equipped in the cleaning pump can be increased.
[0038] In a control method for a dishwasher according to one embodiment, the operating value may be at least one of a current value applied to a washing pump or a temperature value of the compressor outlet.
[0039] The set value may be at least one of a first set value set for a current value applied to the cleaning pump or a second set value set for a temperature value at the outlet of the compressor.
[0040] If the operating value is a current value applied to the cleaning pump, an alarm can be generated if the current value exceeds a first set value during a first set time.
[0041] In the step of removing foreign substances accumulated in the injection arm or condenser, the motor can be operated for a set second time with the motor's RPM value set to a third setting value.
[0042] If the current value applied to the cleaning pump exceeds the first set value after the foreign matter removal operation is completed, the control unit can set the motor's RPM value to the third set value and operate the motor for the second time period.
[0043] If the current value applied to the cleaning pump exceeds the first set value after the operation of the motor for removing foreign substances is terminated, the control unit can set the motor's RPM value to the third set value and operate the motor for the second time period.
[0044] At this time, if the current value exceeds the first set value during the first set time, the motor can be operated again.
[0045] In addition, after generating an alarm, the control unit can operate the switching valve to return the flow path of the cleaning water to the original spray arm.
[0046] In a control method for a dishwasher according to one embodiment, if the foreign matter accumulated in the spray arm or condenser is not removed even after the process of removing the foreign matter and the process of checking whether the foreign matter has been removed are performed a set number of times, the control unit may issue an alarm to the user. Effects of the invention
[0047] In the dishwasher control method according to the present invention, without adding a separate device to the dishwasher, the spray arm or condenser can be effectively detected as clogged by foreign matter through the operation of the existing compressor, wash pump, and control unit that controls them, and the user can be notified of this. Therefore, convenience can be provided to the user.
[0048] In addition, in the dishwasher control method according to the present invention, high-pressure washing water can be applied to the piping through which washing water flows inside the spray arm or condenser using a washing pump roll. Accordingly, foreign substances accumulated in the spray arm or condenser can be effectively removed by the pressure of the washing water. Therefore, the dishwasher can automatically remove foreign substances from the piping inside the spray arm or condenser using the washing pump provided in the dishwasher without using a separate device. As a result, convenience can be provided to the user.
[0049] In addition, in the dishwasher control method according to the present invention, when the dishwasher detects a blockage in the condenser, it can sufficiently and effectively remove foreign substances from the condenser by repeating the process of removing foreign substances from the spray arm or the condenser and verifying this multiple times. Accordingly, convenience can be provided to the user.

[0058] FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of a dishwasher according to one embodiment. A dishwasher according to one embodiment may include a case (11) forming an exterior, a tub (12) in which dishes to be washed are received, a door (20) provided on the front of the tub (12) to open and close the tub (12), and a sump (100) provided on the lower side of the tub (12) in which washing water is stored.
[0059] Additionally, the dishwasher may include a plurality of spray arms (13, 14, 15) provided in a tub (12) for spraying washing water, a filter (110) provided in a sump (100) for filtering washing water sprayed from at least one of the plurality of spray arms (13, 14, 15) and recovered to the sump (100), a washing pump (150) for transporting washing water stored in the sump (100), and a switching valve (130) for flowing washing water transported by the washing pump (150) to at least one of the plurality of spray arms (13, 14, 15).
[0060] The tub (11) is formed in the shape of a cuboid with an open front, and a washing chamber (12a) can be formed inside. A communication hole is formed in the bottom (12b) of the tub (11) through which washing water flows into the sump (100). The washing chamber (12a) is provided with a plurality of racks (16, 17) for storing items to be washed. The plurality of racks (16, 17) may include a lower rack (16) positioned at the bottom of the washing chamber (12a) and an upper rack (17) positioned at the top. The lower rack (16) and the upper rack (17) are spaced apart vertically and can be slid out toward the front of the tub (11).
[0061] A plurality of spray arms (13, 14, 15) are arranged in an up-and-down direction. The plurality of spray arms (13, 14, 15) may include a lower spray arm (13) positioned at the bottom and spraying washing water from the bottom to the top toward the lower rack (16), an upper spray arm (14) positioned above the lower spray arm (13) and spraying washing water from the bottom to the top toward the upper rack (17), and a tower spray arm (15) positioned at the top of the washing room (12a) above the upper spray arm (14) and spraying washing water from the top to the bottom.
[0062] A plurality of spray arms (13, 14, 15) receive washing water from a washing pump (150) through a plurality of spray arm connecting channels (18, 19, 21). The plurality of spray arm connecting channels (18, 19, 21) may include a lower spray arm connecting channel (18) connected to a lower spray arm (13), an upper spray arm connecting channel (19) connected to an upper spray arm (14), and a tower spray arm connecting channel (21) connected to a tower spray arm (15).
[0063] The lower sandstone (13), upper sandstone (14) and tower sandstone (15) can each receive washing water from the washing pump (150) through the upper sandstone connecting channel (18), upper sandstone connecting channel (19), and tower sandstone connecting channel (21).
[0064] A sump (100) is positioned below the bottom (12b) of a tub (12) to collect wash water. A filter (110) can filter contaminants from the wash water moving from the tub (12) to the sump (100).
[0065] Washing water sprayed through multiple spray arms (13, 14, 15) falls to the bottom (12b) of the tub (12) along with contaminants adhering to the object to be washed. Accordingly, the dishware containing contaminants passes through a filter (110) arranged to communicate with the bottom (12b) of the tub (12), thereby filtering out the contaminants and allowing it to be stored in the sump (100).
[0066] During the washing operation, the washing water can wash dishes contained in the rack (16, 17) while circulating through the sump (100), spray arms (13, 14, 15), tub (12), and filter (110).
[0067] The washing pump (150) supplies washing water stored in the sump (100) to at least one of a plurality of spray arms (13, 14, 15). The washing pump (150) may include a washing motor that generates rotational force and an impeller that is rotated by the washing motor to transport washing water. The washing pump (150) may be connected to a switching valve (130) and a washing water supply path (180).
[0068] When the washing pump (150) is driven, the washing water stored in the sump (100) flows into the washing pump (150) through the collection channel (170) and can then be transferred to the switching valve (130) through the washing water supply channel (180).
[0069] The switching valve (130) operates to selectively supply washing water, which is transported by the washing pump (150), to at least one of the lower part sand arm (13), the upper part sand arm (14), and the top part sand arm (15). The switching valve (130) can selectively connect at least one of the washing water supply path (180) and the plurality of sand arm connection paths (18, 19, 21).
[0070] The sump (100) is connected to a water supply channel (23) through which washing water supplied from an external water source flows. The water supply channel (23) may be equipped with a water supply valve (22) that controls the washing water supplied from the external water source. The water supply valve (22) can supply washing water from the external water source to the sump (100). When the water supply valve (22) is opened, the washing water supplied from the external water source can flow into the sump (100) through the water supply channel (23).
[0071] A sump (100) may be connected to a drain channel (24) that drains washing water to the outside of the dishwasher. A drain pump (25) that drains washing water within the sump (100) through the drain channel (24) may be provided in the drain channel (24). When the drain pump (25) is operated, washing water stored in the sump (100) can be drained to the outside of the case (11) through the drain channel (24).
[0072] A heating device for heating the washing water may be provided inside the sump (100) or in the washing pump (150). The heating device may be provided, for example, as an electric heater, a heat pump system, etc.
[0073] In the embodiment, the washing water can be heated using a heat pump system. The heat pump system will be described first below.
[0074] A heat pump system is a system that pumps heat from a low-temperature environment to a high-temperature environment. At this time, such heat pumping can be implemented, for example, using a compressor (500). In an embodiment, a heat pump system can be implemented using a so-called two-phase flow refrigeration cycle, in which the temperature of the refrigerant is raised by compressing the two-phase flowing refrigerant in a gaseous state using a compressor (500).
[0075] A heat pump system carrying out a two-phase flow refrigeration cycle may include a compressor (500), a condenser (300), an expansion device, and an evaporator (600). Each of these components is connected to one another by piping, and as the refrigerant flows and circulates through these components, a phase change occurs and the temperature changes, allowing it to absorb heat from the surroundings or release heat to the surroundings.
[0076] The refrigerant may be introduced into the compressor (500) in a low-temperature gaseous state. In the compressor (500), the refrigerant may be compressed. At the outlet of the compressor (500), the refrigerant may be introduced into the condenser (300) in a superheated gaseous state at high temperature and high pressure.
[0077] In the condenser (300), the refrigerant and the washing water can flow separately. The refrigerant flows into the condenser (300) and exchanges heat with the washing water, and the washing water can be heated by receiving heat from the refrigerant.
[0078] The refrigerant can undergo a phase change from a superheated gaseous state to a saturated state where liquid and gas coexist while maintaining the same pressure in the condenser (300).
[0079] The refrigerant is introduced into the condenser (300) in a superheated state and transfers heat to the washing water, causing the temperature to drop. When it reaches a saturated state, the proportion of liquid can theoretically increase gradually at the same temperature. During this liquefaction process, the refrigerant releases a large amount of heat of liquefaction, and the washing water can be heated by receiving this heat.
[0080] The refrigerant may be introduced into the expansion device in a saturated liquid or super-cooled liquid state from the condenser (300). This expansion device may be equipped with, for example, an expansion valve or a capillary device.
[0081] The refrigerant can undergo adiabatic expansion in the expansion device, that is, theoretically, an expansion with the same enthalpy. During this expansion process, a portion of the refrigerant vaporizes, and consequently, the pressure of the refrigerant can be lowered. As a portion of the refrigerant vaporizes and releases heat of vaporization to the surroundings, the temperature of the entire refrigerant can be lowered. In other words, as the refrigerant passes through the expansion device, it can enter the evaporator (600) in a low-temperature and low-pressure state.
[0082] The refrigerant introduced into the evaporator (600) can gradually increase the proportion of gas while absorbing heat from the surroundings, which are at a relatively high temperature. In the evaporator (600), the proportion of gas can gradually increase while theoretically maintaining the same pressure and the same temperature.
[0083] The refrigerant discharged from the evaporator (600) may flow into the compressor (500) with some liquid present or slightly superheated. The refrigerant flowing into the compressor (500) may circulate through the compressor (500), condenser (300), expansion device, and evaporator (600) while repeating the process described above.
[0084] Typically, a refrigeration device is a device that utilizes the absorption of heat by a refrigerant in an evaporator (600). The heat pump system of the embodiment can utilize the heat released by the refrigerant in a condenser (300).
[0085] In a heat pump system, heat exchange occurs between a high-temperature refrigerant and a relatively low-temperature washing water in a condenser (300), and the washing water can be heated accordingly. The high-temperature washing water heated by the condenser (300) can wash or rinse dishes more easily compared to when it is at room temperature.
[0086] Meanwhile, this heat pump system does not need to always operate while the dishwasher is running. For example, when washing or rinsing with room temperature water, the compressor (500) is not operated, so that room temperature water can be sprayed onto the dishes without heating the washing water.
[0087] Even when the compressor (500) is stopped and the washing water is not heated, the washing water can pass through the condenser (300) and circulate throughout the dishwasher.
[0088] In another embodiment, by forming a bypass path that bypasses the condenser (300), the cleaning water can be diverted through the bypass path when the compressor (500) stops operating, thereby improving the performance of the condenser (300) and extending its lifespan.
[0089] FIG. 2 is a drawing for explaining the parts placed on the base (30) in a dishwasher according to one embodiment. The parts constituting the heat pump system may be placed, for example, on the lower side of the tub (12).
[0090] The dishwasher may include a base (30) provided on the lower side of the tub (12). A heat pump system and other devices for driving the dishwasher may be placed on the base (30). The base (30) forms a space on the lower side of the tub (12), and this space may become a machine room where various machine parts are placed.
[0091] The dishwasher may include a mounting portion (40) on which the condenser (300) is mounted. The mounting portion (40) may be placed on the base (30). The mounting portion (40) may generally be formed in a plate shape. Various parts may be attached to the upper surface of the mounting portion (40).
[0092] The mounting part (40) can be placed inside the base (30). The base (30) can be easily separated from the base (30). For example, the mounting part (40) can be mounted to the base (30) by a fastening mechanism. The mounting part (40) can be separated from the base (30) by releasing the fastening mechanism and sliding it as shown by the arrow in FIG. 2.
[0093] Alternatively, the mounting part (40) may be provided to be guided by a guide rail formed on the inner side of the base (30) and to slide from the base (30).
[0094] A condenser (300) can be placed in a mounting portion (40). A refrigerant and a cleaning water can flow separately in the condenser (300). The refrigerant can be condensed in the condenser (300). As the refrigerant condenses, it releases heat of liquefaction, and the cleaning water can be heated by the released heat of liquefaction.
[0095] Although not shown, the expansion valve can be placed in a suitable location on the mounting part (40). Since the expansion valve is small compared to other parts, it can be placed in a suitable space on the mounting part (40).
[0096] The dishwasher may include a water softening unit (41) that produces soft water. The water softening unit (41) may be mounted on the mounting unit (40). Soft water is water that has a very low content of minerals such as calcium and magnesium, or does not contain them. When washing with soft water, the washing efficiency of the dishes can be improved, and the lifespan of the dishes can also be increased. Therefore, it is necessary to wash with soft water as needed.
[0097] In the embodiment, washing water is introduced into the water softening unit (41), and after being softened using the water softening unit (41), it can be used for dishwashing. However, the water softening unit (41) is not an essential component of the dishwasher.
[0098] The water softening section (41) can be connected to the sump (100) via piping. Therefore, water flowing into the water softening section (41) can be softened by the water softening section (41). The softened water discharged from the water softening section (41) can flow into the sump (100) and be used for cleaning.
[0099] The dishwasher may include a sump (100) in which wash water is stored. The sump (100) may be mounted on a mounting portion (40). The sump (100) may be positioned on the lower side of a tub (12).
[0100] Washing water stored in the sump (100) can be flowed by the washing pump (150) to wash dishes contained in the tub (12) while circulating through the sump (100), washing pump (150), a plurality of spray arms (13, 14, 15), and tub (12).
[0101] Of course, the washing water can be heated by a heat pump system and sprayed from a plurality of spray arms (13, 14, 15) at a high temperature to wash or rinse dishes contained in the tub (12), thereby improving washing efficiency.
[0102] Additionally, a cleaning pump (150) may be mounted on the mounting portion (40). Additionally, a compressor (500) may be mounted on the mounting portion (40). Additionally, an evaporator (600) may be mounted on the mounting portion (40).
[0103] As described above, the compressor (500), condenser (300), expansion device, and evaporator (600) constituting the heat pump system are connected to each other by piping, and the refrigerant circulates through each component, undergoing a phase change and changing temperature and pressure.
[0104] Meanwhile, when the washing pump (150) is operated, the washing water flows sequentially through the washing pump (150), the condenser (300), the plurality of spray arms (13, 14, 15), the tub (12), and the sump (100), and then flows back into the washing pump (150) to circulate through the aforementioned components again.
[0105] In the condenser (300), the refrigerant and the washing water can flow separately from each other. Accordingly, heat is transferred from the high-temperature refrigerant to the washing water, so that the refrigerant condenses and the washing water is heated. To increase the interface between the washing water and the refrigerant, i.e., the heat exchange area, the flow path of the washing water can be composed of a plurality of tubes (320).
[0106] Since multiple tubes (320) are arranged in the condenser (300), the washing water can flow through a pipe with a large diameter and then flow into a tube (320) with a small diameter. Because this tube (320) has a relatively small diameter, clogging may occur.
[0107] The washing water flowing through the tube (320) can be circulated through the dishwasher by the washing pump (150). As a result, as dishwashing proceeds, foreign substances attached to the surface of the dishes can be contained in the circulating washing water.
[0108] If foreign substances contained in the washing water enter the inside of a tube (320) with a small diameter, they may not be able to pass through the tube (320) and may adhere to the inner surface of the tube (320). If this washing water circulation process continues, the amount of foreign substances attached to the inner surface of the tube (320) may continue to increase.
[0109] Therefore, if the dishwasher is used continuously, foreign matter will continue to accumulate inside the tube (320), and as a result, the flow of washing water in the condenser (300) may deteriorate. If this phenomenon continues, eventually at least some of the tubes (320) may become clogged, and the flow of washing water may deteriorate even more rapidly.
[0110] As a result, damage to the condenser (300) may occur, the operation of the dishwasher may be poor, and in severe cases, the operation of the dishwasher may stop.
[0111] Therefore, it is necessary to develop a control method for detecting when foreign matter has accumulated in the condenser (300). In addition, it is necessary to develop a method for removing foreign matter from the condenser (300) when it is detected that foreign matter has accumulated in the condenser (300).
[0112] A control method for a dishwasher regarding this structure will be explained in detail below with reference to the drawings.
[0113] FIG. 3 is a diagram showing a control method of a dishwasher according to one embodiment. FIG. 4 is a flowchart showing a control method of a dishwasher according to one embodiment. FIG. 5 is a block diagram showing a part of a dishwasher according to one embodiment.
[0114] Referring to FIG. 5, a dishwasher according to one embodiment may include a compressor (500) that compresses a refrigerant.
[0115] A thermistor (501) may be provided at the outlet of the compressor (500). The thermistor (501) can measure the temperature value of the refrigerant discharged from the compressor (500). That is, the thermistor (501) can measure the temperature value of the outlet of the compressor (500).
[0116] The dishwasher may include a condenser (300) connected to a compressor (500). In the condenser (300), heat exchange may occur as the washing water and refrigerant flow separately.
[0117] The dishwasher may include a washing pump (150) connected to a condenser (300). The washing pump (150) can transport washing water.
[0118] The refrigerant can be compressed in the compressor (500), circulate through the condenser (300), expansion device (160), and evaporator (600), and then flow back into the compressor (500). Through this circulation process, a heat pump system can be implemented by the refrigerant, and an ideal flow refrigeration cycle can be implemented.
[0119] Meanwhile, the washing water can be pumped by the washing pump (150), circulate through the condenser (300), tub (12), and sump (100), and then flow back into the pump.
[0120] Heat exchange can occur between the refrigerant and the washing water in the condenser (300). Accordingly, the washing water can be heated to a high temperature. This high temperature water can be sprayed from the spray arm to easily wash the dishes contained in the tub (12).
[0121] In the condenser (300), the refrigerant and the cleaning water can flow separately from each other. In the condenser (300), the cleaning water can flow through pipes. To increase the heat exchange area with the refrigerant, multiple pipes through which the cleaning water flows can be provided. Each pipe can be spaced apart from each other.
[0122] Due to this structure, the flow cross-sectional area of each pipe through which the washing water flows in the condenser (300) can be narrowed. Meanwhile, the washing water flowing through the condenser (300) may contain foreign substances such as food residue.
[0123] When washing water flows through the pipes inside the narrow condenser (300), foreign matter may accumulate in the condenser (300). Therefore, a control method for the dishwasher is required to detect when foreign matter accumulates in the condenser (300) to the extent that it causes a major impediment to the operation of the dishwasher, and to remove the foreign matter from the condenser (300).
[0124] Each step below can be performed by the control unit (1000) of the dishwasher. The control unit (1000) can be electrically connected to the compressor (500), thermistor (501), switching valve (130), and washing pump (150).
[0125] The control unit (1000) can control the operation of the compressor (500). The control unit (1000) can measure the temperature value of the outlet of the compressor (500) from a thermistor (501) placed at the outlet of the compressor (500).
[0126] The control unit (1000) can selectively control which of the plurality of spray arms (13, 14, 15) the cleaning water is supplied to by controlling the operation of the switching valve (130). For example, the control unit (1000) can change the path of the cleaning water by controlling the switching valve (130) so that the cleaning water flows from the top spray arm (15) to the upper spray arm (14).
[0127] The control unit (1000) can control the operation of the cleaning pump (150). The control unit (1000) can measure the current value applied to the operation of the cleaning pump (150).
[0128] In one embodiment, the dishwasher control method can have the control unit (1000) measure the operation value generated by the operation of at least one of the compressor (500) or the washing pump (150) (S110).
[0129] Next, the control unit (1000) can compare the operation value with the set value (S120).
[0130] At this time, if the operating value exceeds the set value, the control unit (1000) may determine that at least one of the compressor (500) or the injection arm (13, 14, 15) is blocked by foreign matter. However, to specifically determine which of the compressor (500) or the injection arm (13, 14, 15) is blocked, the following steps may be performed.
[0131] Next, when the operating value exceeds the set value, the control unit (1000) can operate the switching valve (130) to change the spray arm (13, 14, 15) to which the cleaning water is supplied among the plurality of spray arms (13, 14, 15) to which the cleaning water is supplied (S130).
[0132] If the operating value exceeds the set value, it can be determined that the injection arm (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300) is blocked by foreign matter. However, since it is not possible to determine which of the injection arm (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300) is blocked, the control unit (1000) can operate the switching valve (130) to change the injection arm (13, 14, 15) in order to determine this.
[0133] For example, if the top spray arm (15) is currently in operation and the operating value exceeds the set value, the control unit (1000) can operate the switching valve (130) to block the piping connected to the top spray arm (15) and allow the cleaning water to flow to the lower spray arm (13) or the upper spray arm (14).
[0134] Next, the control unit (1000) can again compare the operating value with the set value (S140). By comparing the operating value and the set value twice, it is possible to determine which of the injection arms (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300) is clogged by foreign matter.
[0135] The control unit (1000) can generate an alarm indicating that the injection arm (13, 14, 15) is blocked by foreign matter when the operating value is less than or equal to the set value (S150).
[0136] For example, if the operating value exceeds the set value for the first time and the switching valve (130) operates to change the flow path of the washing water from the top spray arm (15) to the upper spray arm (14), and then the operating value is below the set value, this means that the top spray arm (15) is blocked by foreign matter. Accordingly, the control unit (1000) can generate an alarm indicating that the spray arms (13, 14, 15), for example the top spray arm (15), are blocked.
[0137] The control unit (1000) can generate an alarm indicating that the condenser (300) is clogged by foreign matter when the operating value exceeds the set value (S160).
[0138] For example, if the operating value exceeds the set value for the first time and the switching valve (130) operates to change the flow path of the washing water from the top spray arm (15) to the upper spray arm (14), and the operating value exceeds the set value, then the operating value still exceeds the set value even though there was a change in the flow path in the spray arms (13, 14, 15), so this means there is no blockage in the spray arms (13, 14, 15) and the condenser (300) is blocked by foreign matter. Therefore, the control unit (1000) can generate an alarm indicating that the condenser (300) is blocked.
[0139] The operating value may be a current value applied to the washing pump (150). The control unit (1000) can, for example, adjust the rotational speed of the motor equipped in the washing pump (150) by changing the current value applied to the washing pump (150). Accordingly, the magnitude of the pressure applied by the washing pump (150) to the washing water can be adjusted.
[0140] Accordingly, the control unit (1000) can determine the current value applied to the cleaning pump (150). If the current value applied to the cleaning pump (150) exceeds a set value, the control unit (1000) can determine that the spray arm (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300) is clogged by foreign matter.
[0141] If the spray arm (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300) is clogged, the cleaning pump (150) may consume more current to allow the cleaning water to flow smoothly. Accordingly, as the degree of clogging of the spray arm (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300) increases, the current value applied to the cleaning pump (150) may increase.
[0142] If the spray arm (13, 14, 15) or condenser (300) is clogged to the extent that it impedes the operation of the dishwasher, the current value applied to the washing pump (150) may exceed the set value.
[0143] In this case, the control unit (1000) may determine that the spray arm (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300) is clogged. At this time, the current value, which is the set value, may be set to a value at which it is determined that separate measures are required because the spray arm (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300) is clogged to the extent that it causes a malfunction in the operation of the dishwasher due to continuous use of the dishwasher. Of course, the current value, which is the set value, is greater than the current value applied to the washing pump (150) in a normal state.
[0144] This current value, which is a setting value, can also be derived through artificial intelligence machine learning during the continuous use of the dishwasher.
[0145] In another embodiment, the operating value may be a temperature value at the outlet of the compressor (500). This temperature value is measured by a thermistor (501) placed at the outlet of the compressor (500), and the control unit (1000) can know this temperature value.
[0146] If the condenser (300) is clogged, the flow rate of the cleaning water in the condenser (300) may decrease. As a result, heat exchange in the condenser (300) is not smooth, and the refrigerant may be discharged from the condenser (300) at a higher temperature than in normal conditions. Accordingly, the refrigerant circulating through each component may flow into the compressor (500) at a higher temperature than in normal conditions and be discharged from the compressor (500) at a higher temperature than in normal conditions. Accordingly, as the degree of clogging in the condenser (300) increases, the temperature value at the outlet of the compressor (500) may increase.
[0147] Likewise, when the injection arms (13, 14, 15) are blocked, the flow rate of the circulating washing water is reduced, so the flow rate of the washing water in the condenser (300) is reduced, and therefore, as the degree of blockage of the injection arms (13, 14, 15) increases, the temperature value at the outlet of the compressor (500) may increase.
[0148] If the spray arm (13, 14, 15) or condenser (300) is clogged to the extent that it impedes the operation of the dishwasher, the temperature value setting value of the outlet of the compressor (500) may be exceeded.
[0149] In such cases, the control unit (1000) may determine that the spray arm (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300) is clogged. As previously described, the temperature value, which is the set value, may be set to a value at which it is determined that separate measures are required because the spray arm (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300) is clogged to the extent that it impedes the operation of the dishwasher due to continuous use of the dishwasher. Of course, the temperature value, which is the set value, is greater than the temperature value of the outlet of the compressor (500) in a normal state.
[0150] These temperature settings can also be derived through artificial intelligence machine learning during the continuous use of the dishwasher.
[0151] Meanwhile, at step S150 or S160, the alarm may be displayed, for example, as characters, symbols, etc. on the dishwasher's display device, or may be notified to the user through a speaker provided in the dishwasher.
[0152] Meanwhile, the dishwasher can be remotely connected to a mobile device carried by the user. Accordingly, the dishwasher transmits an alarm to the mobile device, allowing a user in a remote location to receive the alarm via the mobile device.
[0153] The user can detect through an alarm that a problem has occurred with the spray arm (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300). Through the process described above, it is possible to determine whether the condenser (300) is clogged or the spray arm (13, 14, 15) is clogged, and if the spray arm (13, 14, 15) is clogged, which of the top spray arm (15), upper spray arm (14), and lower spray arm (13) is clogged. Therefore, the dishwasher can notify the user of specific information regarding which of the spray arms (13, 14, 15) is clogged. The user can take measures such as repairs in response.
[0154] However, even if the user does not take special measures such as repairs, the dishwasher can remove foreign matter accumulated in the spray arms (13, 14, 15) or condenser (300) on its own.
[0155] The control unit (1000) can remove foreign matter accumulated in the injection arm (13, 14, 15) or condenser (300) (S170).
[0156] In the step of removing foreign matter accumulated in the spray arm or condenser (300), the RPM (revolutions per minute) value of the motor equipped in the cleaning pump (150) can be increased.
[0157] When the RPM value of the motor increases, the cleaning pump (150) can pump the cleaning water by applying higher pressure. Accordingly, the high-pressure cleaning water pushes out foreign matter accumulated in the cleaning water pipes of the spray arms (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300), thereby effectively removing foreign matter from the spray arms (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300).
[0158] In an embodiment, without adding a separate device to the dishwasher, the existing compressor (500), washing pump (150) and control unit (1000) that control them can effectively detect when the spray arm (13, 14, 15) or condenser (300) is clogged by foreign matter and notify the user. Thus, convenience can be provided to the user.
[0159] In a control method for a dishwasher of one embodiment, the operating value may be at least one of a current value applied to a washing pump (150) or a temperature value at the outlet of a compressor (500).
[0160] The process of detecting blockage of such condenser (300) or removing foreign matter can be performed while the dishwasher is operating and carrying out the washing process or rinsing process of the dishes.
[0161] Below, for example, a case in which both the current value applied to the washing pump (150) and the temperature value of the outlet of the compressor (500) are used as operating values is described in detail. It is also obvious from the following description that only one of the current value or the temperature value is used as an operating value.
[0162] FIG. 6 is a flowchart illustrating a control method for a dishwasher according to another embodiment. The set value may be at least one of a first set value set for a current value applied to the washing pump (150) or a second set value set for a temperature value at the outlet of the compressor (500).
[0163] The control unit (1000) can measure the current value of the washing pump (150) and the temperature value of the thermistor (501).
[0164] For example, when the operating value is a current value, the control unit (1000) can determine whether the spray arm (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300) is clogged through the current value applied to the cleaning pump (150).
[0165] The control unit (1000) can generate an alarm by determining that the injection arm (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300) is clogged when the current value exceeds a first set value. Additionally, the control unit (1000) can remove foreign matter from the injection arm (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300) on its own.
[0166] The temperature value may not change rapidly for a short period of time. However, during the operation of the cleaning pump (150), the current value applied to the cleaning pump (150) may change due to external influences, such as interference from electromagnetic waves, for a short period of time.
[0167] Therefore, the current value applied to the cleaning pump (150) can change rapidly over a short period of time.
[0168] Therefore, to reduce detection errors, if the operating value is a current value, it may be determined that the injection arm or condenser (300) is clogged when the current value exceeds the first set value during the first set time.
[0169] The first time can be set to an appropriate time to reduce detection errors, for example, approximately 5 to 10 seconds. However, it is not limited thereto.
[0170] If there is no problem with the operating value, which is the current value, then next, if the operating value is the temperature value, the control unit (1000) can determine the blockage of the condenser (300) through the temperature value of the outlet of the compressor (500).
[0171] When the temperature measured through the thermistor (501), i.e., the temperature value at the outlet of the compressor (500), exceeds the second set value, the control unit (1000) can operate the switching valve (130) to change the spray arm (13, 14, 15) to which the cleaning water is supplied. For example, if the cleaning water is currently flowing and spraying through the top spray arm (15), the path of the cleaning water can be changed to the upper spray arm (14).
[0172] That is, if two conditions are satisfied where the current value exceeds the first set value during the first time period and the temperature value exceeds the second set value, it can be determined that either the injection arm (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300) is blocked. Afterwards, a process of determining which one is blocked may be carried out.
[0173] Of course, the current value applied to the washing pump (150) or the temperature value at the outlet of the compressor (500) is not in a fixed order. Therefore, the control unit (1000) can make a judgment based on the current value or the temperature value in any order, either first or the next. Of course, each judgment can also be made simultaneously.
[0174] Next, the control unit (1000) determines whether the current value exceeds the first set value during the first time period and whether the temperature value exceeds the second set value, and if either of these two conditions is not satisfied, it can be determined that the injection arm (13, 14, 15) is blocked. At this time, for example, if the flow path is changed from the tower injection arm (15) to the upper injection arm (14), it can be determined that the tower injection arm (15) is blocked.
[0175] In this case, the control unit (1000) can generate a clogging alarm for the spray arms (13, 14, 15) and remove foreign matter from the spray arms (13, 14, 15). Once the removal of foreign matter from the spray arms (13, 14, 15) is completed, the cleaning process returns to normal, and the current value of the cleaning pump (150) and the temperature value of the thermistor (501) can be measured continuously to monitor for clogging.
[0176] If the current value exceeds the first set value during the first time period and the temperature value exceeds the second set value, and both of these two conditions are satisfied, it can be determined that the condenser (300) is clogged.
[0177] In this case, the control unit (1000) can trigger a condenser (300) blockage alarm and proceed with removing foreign matter from the condenser (300). Once the removal of foreign matter from the condenser (300) is completed, the cleaning process returns to normal, and the current value of the cleaning pump (150) and the temperature value of the thermistor (501) can be measured continuously to monitor for blockage.
[0178] In the embodiment, blockage detection can be determined with high reliability by utilizing both the load current value of the cleaning pump (150) and the temperature value of the compressor outlet. When only the load current value of the cleaning pump (150) is utilized, it is not possible to determine exactly what the cause is, such as aging of the cleaning pump (150). When only the compressor outlet temperature value is utilized, various errors, such as an increase in external temperature, cannot be identified. However, if both of these values are utilized, the cause can be determined more accurately. Furthermore, if measurement is performed through the control of the switching valve (130), the location of the blocked spray arm (13, 14, 15) can be specified.
[0179] FIG. 7 is a flowchart illustrating the alarm generation and foreign matter removal process in the control method of a dishwasher. FIG. 7 is a flowchart illustrating in detail the alarm generation for the spray arm or condenser blockage shown in FIG. 6 and the foreign matter removal process for them.
[0180] The control unit (100) can generate a clogging alarm for the injection arm (13, 14, 15) or condenser (300) as described above.
[0181] After generating an alarm, the control unit (1000) can operate the switching valve (130) to return the flow path of the cleaning water to the original spray arm (13, 14, 15). For example, if the flow path is changed from the top spray arm (15) to the upper spray arm (14) to determine whether the top spray arm (15) is clogged while the cleaning water is flowing through the top spray arm (15), the control unit (1000) can control the switching valve (130) to change the flow path of the cleaning water from the upper spray arm (14) back to the top spray arm (15). By restoring the flow path in this way, foreign matter in the clogged spray arm (13, 14, 15) can be removed or the original cleaning process can proceed.
[0182] Next, the control unit (1000) can remove foreign matter on its own. The removal of foreign matter from the injection arms (13, 14, 15) and the removal of foreign matter from the condenser (300) can be carried out in the same process and manner.
[0183] In the step of removing foreign matter accumulated in the injection arm (13, 14, 15) or condenser (300), the motor can be operated for a set second time with the motor's RPM value set to a third setting value. The control unit (1000) can remove foreign matter from the injection arm (13, 14, 15) or condenser (300) by rotating the motor at a high speed.
[0184] The operation of the cleaning pump (150) motor for removing foreign matter from the condenser (300) can be carried out for a set second time. The second time can be appropriately selected as a time during which foreign matter accumulated inside the condenser (300) can be sufficiently removed by high-pressure cleaning water.
[0185] Meanwhile, the third setting value can be appropriately selected to a value greater than the RPM of the motor of the washing pump (150) in a normal state, to the extent that no damage occurs to the washing pump (150).
[0186] Through the process described above, the dishwasher can apply high-pressure washing water to the pipes through which washing water flows inside the spray arms (13, 14, 15) or inside the condenser (300) using the washing pump (150). Accordingly, foreign matter accumulated in the spray arms (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300) can be effectively removed by the pressure of the washing water. Therefore, the dishwasher can automatically remove foreign matter from the pipes inside the spray arms (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300) using the washing pump (150) provided in the dishwasher without using a separate device. As a result, convenience can be provided to the user.
[0187] Meanwhile, it is necessary to check whether foreign substances have been sufficiently removed from the condenser (300). If foreign substances have not been sufficiently removed, the foreign substance removal step may be repeated multiple times.
[0188] When the current value applied to the cleaning pump (150) exceeds the first set value after the operation of the motor for removing foreign substances is finished, the control unit (1000) can operate the motor for a second time by setting the motor's RPM value to the third set value.
[0189] At this time, if the current value exceeds the first set value during the first set time, the motor can be operated again.
[0190] When the foreign matter removal operation is finished, the motor's RPM value can be returned to its original value. That is, when the foreign matter removal operation is finished, the motor does not stop but rotates at a normal RPM, that is, in a state where the spray arm (13, 14, 15) or condenser (300) is not clogged, so that the dishwasher can continue the washing or rinsing process.
[0191] At this time, in order to check whether foreign matter in the spray arm (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300) has been sufficiently removed and whether the blockage of the condenser (300) has been resolved, the control unit (1000) can check the current value applied to the cleaning pump (150).
[0192] If the current value applied to the cleaning pump (150) exceeds the first set value during the first set time, the control unit (1000) can determine that the condenser (300) is still in a clogged state.
[0193] Accordingly, the control unit (1000) can again set the motor's RPM value to a third setting value and operate the motor for a second time period.
[0194] The process of removing foreign substances from the condenser (300) and the process of checking whether the foreign substances have been removed may be repeated multiple times. When foreign substances are sufficiently removed from the condenser (300) through these multiple processes, the foreign substance removal process may be terminated. Once the foreign substance removal process is terminated, the dishwasher may continue to perform the washing or rinsing process of the dishes.
[0195] Meanwhile, when checking whether foreign matter in the condenser (300) has been sufficiently removed, in another embodiment, it may be determined based on whether the temperature value at the outlet of the compressor (500) exceeds the second set value. Specific details regarding this are as described above.
[0196] In an embodiment, when the dishwasher detects that the condenser (300) is clogged, it can sufficiently and effectively remove foreign matter from the spray arm (13, 14, 15) or the condenser (300) by repeating the process of removing foreign matter from the condenser (300) and confirming it multiple times. Accordingly, convenience can be provided to the user.
[0197] Meanwhile, if the foreign matter accumulated in the injection arm (13, 14, 15) or condenser is not removed even after the process of removing the foreign matter and checking whether it has been removed is performed a set number of times, the control unit (1000) can issue an alarm to the user.
[0198] The steps of removing foreign substances and checking whether the foreign substances have been sufficiently removed cannot be repeated indefinitely. If the foreign substances are not removed even after the foreign substance removal step is repeated sufficiently, it is because the foreign substances accumulated in the condenser (300) cannot be removed by the foreign substance removal process of the dishwasher itself.
[0199] Accordingly, if the foreign substance is not sufficiently removed even after repeating the foreign substance removal step a set number of times, the control unit (1000) can issue a separate alarm to the user.
[0200] When an alarm is received, the user can recognize that foreign matter has not been sufficiently removed by the foreign matter removal process of the dishwasher's automatic condenser (300). Accordingly, the user can repair or replace the condenser (300) directly.
