Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a medical suture retention device, and more particularly to a medical suture retention device having the function of suturing a skin incision in a non-invasive manner, stably maintaining the wound site, and preventing infection.

[0002] The medical skin suture retainer of the present invention aims to improve upon the disadvantages of existing suture, staple, and medical adhesive methods by maintaining the adhesion and alignment of the suture site during the suturing process while also protecting it from the external environment. Background Technology

[0004] Methods for suturing skin incisions in the medical field have evolved in various ways. Commonly used suturing methods include sutures, surgical staples, medical adhesives, and skin closure strips. Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages, and is selected based on the patient's condition and the surgical environment.

[0006] Sutures and staples are traditional suturing methods that have been widely used for a long time. Sutures involve closing skin incisions one by one using thread and a needle; they offer the advantage of providing relatively strong retention and allowing for precise suturing. However, the suturing process is complex, resulting in a long procedure time and significant discomfort for the patient, and additional pain may occur during the removal process. Furthermore, sutures using thread may cause uneven tension at the suture site, potentially leading to asymmetrical pulling of the skin tissue. This can affect the speed of wound healing or, in severe cases, result in unsightly scars referred to as "railroad tracks" in the field.

[0008] The staple method allows for rapid closure of skin incisions using metal staples, resulting in faster procedures and reduced burden on medical staff; however, due to the nature of metal materials, the sutured site lacks flexibility, and there is a high likelihood of significant patient pain during removal. Additionally, the metal surface in direct contact with the skin can increase the risk of infection and may cause tissue damage.

[0010] The medical adhesive method involves applying a special adhesive to the skin surface to close the incision; it is more convenient to use as it eliminates the need for sutures. It is classified as a relatively non-invasive method with a short procedure time and provides strong adhesion between tissues, preventing the wound from dehiscing. However, the adhesive strength can vary depending on skin condition or the environment of the wound site, and it has the disadvantage of losing fixation power due to moisture or bodily fluids. Additionally, adhesive components may irritate certain skin types, posing a risk of skin irritation or allergic reactions after use. If adhesive residue remains on the wound, additional skin irritation may occur during the removal process.

[0012] The suture tape method is a relatively simple technique that physically fixes the incision site using tape. As a non-invasive method, it is useful for minimizing patient discomfort and allowing for simple wound fixation. However, suture tape has weak retention in areas with high skin tension, such as joints or areas with frequent movement, and may easily detach. Additionally, since it utilizes an adhesive, it is affected by moisture and bodily fluids, similar to medical adhesives, and has limitations in maintaining stability for extended periods.

[0014] As such, while existing suturing methods perform the role of closing skin incisions in different ways, they all have limitations in terms of maintaining the stability of the suture site, preventing infection, ease of procedure, and reducing patient discomfort.

[0016] Sutures allow for precise closure, but the procedure is complex, places a heavy burden on the patient, and carries a risk of infection. Staples enable rapid closure, but due to the nature of metal materials, they have the disadvantage of a high risk of skin damage and significant pain during removal. Medical adhesives are easy to use, but their adhesive strength is limited, and they can cause skin irritation or discomfort during removal. Suture tape is the simplest method, but its low fixation makes it difficult to maintain the sutured state after a certain period.

[0018] To solve these problems, the present invention proposes a medical skin suture retainer that maintains skin sutures in a non-invasive manner, optimizes the adhesion and alignment of the suture site, and includes a protective function to prevent infection.

[0020] The medical skin suture retainer proposed in this invention adopts a hook fastening method to accurately and stably fix the suture site, while also incorporating a protective cover to protect the suture site from the external environment. This effectively compensates for the problems associated with conventional suturing methods, enables faster and more accurate suturing, and helps prevent infection and accelerate recovery.

[0022] Furthermore, the medical skin suture retainer of the present invention is designed for easy application by the user, offering the advantage of being convenient for even unskilled personnel and contributing to increased efficiency during the procedure. The medical skin suture retainer of the present invention, which is improved to provide a more effective suture retention function while minimizing user inconvenience compared to existing methods, is expected to be highly likely to be utilized as an alternative to conventional suturing methods in medical settings in the future. [0024] Republic of Korea Published Patent 10-2543162-0000 Republic of Korea Registered Patent 10-0773326-0000 The problem to be solved

[0025] Currently, sutures, surgical staples, medical adhesives, and skin closure strips are used in the medical field to close skin incisions. However, each of these methods has its limitations, and improvements are necessary due to issues such as reduced retention of the suture site, the risk of infection, scarring, and the complexity of the procedure.

[0027] While sutures provide excellent fixation for skin incisions, the procedure is time-consuming and requires skilled medical personnel, and patients may experience pain during removal. Additionally, inconsistent tension at the suture site can affect the speed of wound healing, and there is a risk of infection.

[0029] Staple methods allow for quick procedures but carry the risk of physical damage to skin tissue and can cause discomfort and additional pain during removal. Medical adhesive methods enable rapid suturing, but maintaining adhesion is difficult, and effectiveness may vary depending on skin condition. Suture tape is non-invasive, but its weak adhesive strength leads to reduced retention in high-tension areas, and it can easily detach due to moisture or sweat.

[0031] To solve these problems, a technology capable of stably maintaining and protecting the suture site is required. In this invention, a Hook & Latch Mechanism is applied to precisely interlock the suture site, ensuring stable fixation even after fastening. This secures fixation force to prevent the suture from opening after the procedure and protects it from the external environment.

[0033] In addition, it is designed to minimize the risk of infection and reduce scarring by applying a protective cover to shield the suture site from the external environment. The protective cover combines with a suture retainer to encase and protect the suture site, enhancing user convenience while reducing the burden of additional post-procedure care for medical staff.

[0035] In this invention, a non-invasive method is applied to reduce pain during the removal process and alleviate the burden on medical staff, unlike conventional suturing methods. Furthermore, by designing it for direct patient use, it enables easy maintenance of sutures and aids in wound healing not only in hospitals but also at home.

[0037] Therefore, the present invention aims to provide an improved medical skin suture retainer equipped with functions such as enhanced suture retention, prevention of infection, and improved patient convenience. means of solving the problem

[0039] The present invention relates to a medical skin suture retainer for effectively suturing and protecting a skin incision, and for this purpose, a structure that maximizes fastening force and suture stability is adopted.

[0041] A medical skin suture retainer according to the present invention includes a first attachment portion (100) and a second attachment portion (200) attached to both sides of a skin incision. These attachment portions each include a first skin adhesive surface (110) and a second skin adhesive surface (210) for stable adhesion with the skin, thereby allowing them to be attached in alignment with the wound lines (300, 310) on both sides of the skin incision.

[0043] On the inner end (115, 215) of the attachment part, a hook portion (120, 220) and a catch portion (130, 230) are arranged oppositely, so that stable fastening can be achieved when the two attachment parts interlock. An insertion groove (140, 240) is formed in the lower part of the hook portion (120, 220), and a notch portion (150, 250) is arranged in the upper part. In addition, inclined surfaces (160, 260) are provided on both sides of the attachment part, serving to guide natural insertion and fixation during the fastening process.

[0045] When the two attachment parts advance facing each other for suturing, the notch portion (150, 250) of the hook portion (120, 220) advances while elastically deforming upward under the guidance of the inclined surface (160, 260). During this process, the insertion groove (140, 240) engages with the catch portion (130, 230) to complete the fastening, and subsequently, the hook portion (120, 220) returns to its original position to firmly adhere the skin incision. Through this, the user can maintain a more accurate and stable suture and provides strong fixation to prevent the sutured area from opening even after fastening.

[0047] Additionally, the present invention may include a protective cover (333) to protect the wound site after suturing and prevent infection. The protective cover covers the outer side of the sutured portion (112) after the medical skin suture retainer is fastened to protect the wound site from the external environment and to minimize the risk of infection from bacteria and foreign substances.

[0049] Furthermore, the present invention features the application of an environmentally responsive material to enhance patient comfort even during prolonged wear. It is designed to maintain a constant rigidity initially to firmly adhere the suture site, but gradually soften over time in response to skin temperature, moisture, and sweat. This allows for strong retention during the initial suture stage while minimizing skin irritation and improving patient comfort during long-term wear.

[0051] Consequently, the present invention provides an improved medical skin suture retainer that can maintain a suture in a non-invasive manner while compensating for the disadvantages of existing suturing methods, and is configured to maximize stable suturing and infection prevention effects while minimizing patient discomfort. Effects of the invention

[0053] This invention focuses on solving various problems arising from existing suturing methods and providing a more effective and safe non-invasive skin suture retainer. Existing methods such as sutures, staples, and medical adhesives each have their limitations and fail to provide a complete solution, particularly in terms of suture retention, infection prevention, ease of procedure, and reduction of patient discomfort.

[0055] Accordingly, the present invention provides a medical skin suture retainer that effectively sutures a skin incision using a hook and latch mechanism and safely protects the sutured area from the external environment by adding a protective cover.

[0057] First, the present invention has structural features that can ensure accurate suturing and strong retention. The first attachment part (100) and the second attachment part (200) are attached to the wound lines (300, 310) on both sides of the skin incision through the skin adhesive surface (110, 210), and the hook part (120, 220) and the catch part (130, 230) are fastened together so that both sides of the skin incision (111) are accurately aligned. Through this, the skin incision (111) is transformed into a skin suture part (112), the sutured area is maintained with constant tension, and the phenomenon of the skin opening up can be prevented. In addition, the suturing force is further strengthened through the design of the insertion groove (140, 240) and the notch part (150, 250), and the sutured state can be maintained stably.

[0059] In addition, a protective function for preventing infection and promoting recovery has been added. In conventional suturing methods, the sutured area is exposed to the external environment, which can increase the risk of infection. However, in the present invention, after the medical skin suture retainer is attached, a protective cover (333) is placed over the sutured area to protect it from contaminants or bacteria. This reduces the risk of infection and promotes the recovery of the sutured area.

[0061] The present invention can significantly reduce patient discomfort by enabling suturing in a non-invasive manner. While conventional suturing methods cause pain during the use of needles or metal and entail additional discomfort during suture removal, the present invention allows for the convenient dismantling of a medical skin suture retainer without the need for a separate removal process. Therefore, it enables effective wound management while minimizing the physical burden on the patient.

[0063] Furthermore, the present invention features a structure that maximizes ease of use and reduces the burden on medical personnel. It is designed so that the process of attaching and detaching a medical skin suture retainer is simple, allowing medical personnel to perform the suturing procedure more quickly. This can be particularly useful in emergency medical situations or environments requiring mass treatment, and enables rapid treatment in first aid or field medical settings.

[0065] In addition, it is designed to enable optimized suture retention by applying an environmentally responsive material. The first attachment part (100) and the second attachment part (200) initially maintain appropriate rigidity, but after attachment to the skin, they can gradually soften over time in response to the skin's body temperature, sweat, moisture, etc. Through this, it has the effect of maintaining strong fixation during the initial suture retention while minimizing skin irritation during long-term wear and providing patient comfort.

[0067] In conclusion, the present invention provides a medical skin suture retainer that overcomes the disadvantages of conventional suturing methods and offers fast and accurate suture retention, infection prevention, and the convenience of a non-invasive method, thereby presenting a more efficient and safe wound management solution for the modern medical environment.

[0069] In particular, the protective function and application of environmentally responsive materials in the medical skin suture retainer can maximize patient convenience and therapeutic efficacy even during long-term use, and there is high potential for future utilization in various medical environments. FIG. 3: A cross-sectional view illustrating the suturing process for a skin incision (111). Fig. 4: Enlarged perspective view of the main fastening part of a medical skin suture retainer. Fig. 5: Enlarged perspective view of the hook portion configuration of a medical skin suture retainer. Specific details for implementing the invention

[0072] FIG. 1 is an overall perspective view of the medical skin suture retainer of the present invention. The medical skin suture retainer (10) of the present invention includes a first attachment part (100) and a second attachment part (200) and is attached to both sides of a skin incision (111). It is attached to the wound lines (300, 310) on both sides of the skin incision through the skin adhesive surface (110, 210) and is designed to stably fix the skin tissue.

[0074] A hook portion (120, 220) and a catch portion (130, 230) are formed on the inner side of the first attachment portion (100) and the second attachment portion (200), and are precisely arranged so that fastening can be achieved when the two attachment portions interlock. The hook portion (120, 220) engages with the insertion groove (140, 240) during the suturing process to strengthen the fastening force of the medical skin suture retainer, and the catch portion (130, 230) fixes the position of the medical skin suture retainer after fastening to help maintain the sutured state.

[0076] Additionally, the medical skin suture retainer (10) of the present invention includes a protective cover (333) for protecting the outer side of the suture portion (112) after fastening is completed. The protective cover (333) is formed to extend from the ends of the first attachment portion (100) and the second attachment portion (200), and is configured to completely cover the sutured area after fastening to prevent external contamination and infection. The protective cover (333) is designed to be in close contact with the skin to protect the sutured area from the external environment, and may be made of a transparent or translucent material so that medical personnel can check the sutured condition.

[0078] The inclined surface (160, 260) serves to guide the hook portion (120, 220) during the fastening process of the medical skin suture retainer so that it is accurately seated in the insertion groove (140, 240). In addition, the notch portion (150, 250) allows for elastic deformation during the fastening process to ensure a stable connection of the medical skin suture retainer, and is designed so that fastening is possible only when a certain force is applied. This prevents the attachment from easily coming loose even if the patient accidentally manipulates the medical skin suture retainer.

[0080] Unlike conventional suturing methods, the present invention allows suturing to be performed by simply attaching and securing a medical skin suture retainer to the skin incision (111), and provides strong retention while minimizing patient discomfort through a non-invasive method. In addition, the application of a protective cover (333) effectively blocks infection and external stimuli, so it is designed to maintain stability during the recovery process after suturing.

[0083] FIG. 2 illustrates the process of applying the medical skin suture retainer of the present invention to a skin incision (111). The left drawing shows the state before the medical skin suture retainer is fastened, and the right drawing shows the state after the suture is completed. At this time, the protective cover (333) is not shown.

[0085] Initially, the first attachment part (100) and the second attachment part (200) are attached to both sides of the skin incision (111), and they are attached to the wound lines (300, 310) on both sides of the skin incision (111) through the skin adhesive surface (110, 210) so that their positions are fixed.

[0087] Subsequently, the two attachment parts (100, 200) face each other and interlock for suturing, and the hook part (120, 220) and the catch part (130, 230), which are formed in a structure that is spaced apart and facing each other, are combined so that both ends of the skin incision part (111) are aligned and transformed into a skin suture part (112) and stably sutured.

[0089] The signing process proceeds in stages and follows the following steps.

[0090] 1. In the left drawing, the skin incision (111) is kept open, and the skin adhesive surfaces (110, 210) of the first attachment part (100) and the second attachment part (200) are attached in close contact to the wound lines (300, 310) on both sides of the skin incision (111) to fix the position.

[0092] 2. When the two attachment parts (100, 200) approach each other, the hook part (120, 220) prepares to engage with the insertion groove (140, 240) under the guidance of the inclined surface (160, 260). During this process, the notch part (150, 250) is temporarily deformed upward by the fastening pressure, helping the hook part (120, 220) to be inserted smoothly.

[0094] 3. As the catch portion (130, 230) and the insertion groove (140, 240) engage, the connection of the medical skin suture retainer is completed, and the skin incision portion (111) is accurately aligned and transformed into a skin suture portion (112).

[0096] 4. As the hook portion (120, 220) returns to its original position, the fastening is stably maintained, and as both sides of the suture portion (112) are aligned, the skin tissue is firmly adhered to maintain the sutured state.

[0098] 5. After fastening, the suture (112) is maintained with constant tension and is designed to maintain a stable state without additional suture retention devices. Additionally, when a protective cover (333) is applied, the outer side of the suture (112) can be covered to reduce the risk of infection and prevent contamination.

[0100] According to the fastening mechanism of the hook portion (120, 220) and the catch portion (130, 230), the two attachment portions (100, 200) interlock and a constant fastening force is applied, so that the medical skin suture retainer is designed to have strong fixation force. It is configured so that the retention force of the medical skin suture retainer can be sustained through the arrangement of the catch portion (130, 230) and the interlocking of the insertion groove (140, 240).

[0102] The medical skin suture retainer of the present invention can suture a skin incision (111) in a non-invasive manner, allowing for accurate fastening while minimizing patient discomfort. Unlike conventional sutures or medical adhesives, the suturing process is simple, enabling rapid treatment, and is designed so that medical personnel can immediately check the suture status and complete the suturing without additional measures.

[0104] Furthermore, the present invention applies an optimized structure to maintain suture strength even in areas with significant skin movement, thereby providing more robust retention than conventional suturing methods. This promotes the recovery of the sutured site, reduces the burden on medical staff during the procedure, and maximizes patient convenience.

[0107] FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view showing the process of the medical skin suture retainer of the present invention securing the skin incision (111) in close contact. In this figure, the operating principle of the internal structure during the securing process of the medical skin suture retainer is illustrated in more detail.

[0109] In the initial state, the skin incision (111) is open, and the skin adhesive surfaces (110, 210) of the first attachment part (100) and the second attachment part (200) are aligned with and closely attached to the wound lines (300, 310) on both sides of the skin incision (111). Subsequently, as the suturing process proceeds, the following steps are performed.

[0111] When the first attachment part (100) and the second attachment part (200) approach each other, the hook part (120, 220) moves toward the insertion groove (140, 240) under the guidance of the inclined surface (160, 260). During this process, the notch part (150, 250) is elastically deformed upward by the fastening pressure to help the hook part (120, 220) be inserted smoothly.

[0113] As the locking portion (130, 230) and the insertion groove (140, 240) engage, the fastening of the medical skin suture retainer proceeds gradually. At this time, the opener (165) serves to adjust the fastening force by dispersing the force during insertion, and when the fastening is finally completed, the skin incision portion (111) is accurately aligned and converted into a skin suture portion (112).

[0115] After the hook portion (120, 220) is fully fastened, it returns to its original position and maintains the fastened state. Accordingly, both sides of the skin incision (111) are firmly in contact, and tension balance is maintained.

[0117] In the fastened state, the skin suture (112) maintains constant tension, and the skin tissue is stably adhered, thereby promoting wound healing and protecting it from the external environment.

[0119] This suturing process is designed to allow the skin incision (111) to be sutured in a non-invasive manner, providing accurate and strong retention while minimizing patient discomfort. In addition, compared to conventional suturing methods, it allows for quick and easy fastening, and is configured so that medical staff can immediately check the suture status and complete the suturing without additional measures.

[0121] In particular, the structural arrangement of the hook portion (120, 220) and the catch portion (130, 230) is optimized so that the fastening force of the suture retainer can be maintained consistently, and the design ensures that the fastening is maintained stably through interlocking with the insertion groove (140, 240).

[0123] The medical skin suture retainer of the present invention is designed to maintain a strong suture force even in areas with significant skin tissue movement, thereby compensating for the disadvantages of conventional suturing methods and enabling more effective wound healing.

[0126] FIG. 4 is a drawing illustrating in detail the structural details of the hook portion (120, 220) and the catch portion (130, 230) of the medical skin suture retainer of the present invention. This drawing explains how the main components for joining the medical skin suture retainer are arranged.

[0128] The first attachment portion (100) and the second attachment portion (200) each include a skin adhesive surface (110, 210) and are designed to be attached to the wound lines (300, 310) on both sides of the skin incision portion (111). A hook portion (120, 220) is formed on the inner end portion (115, 215) of the attachment portion, which engages with the catch portion (130, 230) during the fastening process to maintain the suture.

[0130] The hook portion (120, 220) is configured to be coupled with the insertion groove (140, 240), and an elastically deformable notch portion (150, 250) is formed on the upper part. The notch portion (150, 250) is temporarily deformed when fastened and returns to its original fastening position when fastening is completed, thereby ensuring the fixing force of the medical skin suture retainer.

[0132] The catch portion (130, 230) provides a constant fastening force in conjunction with the hook portion (120, 220) and performs the function of reinforcing the continuous holding force of the medical skin suture retainer.

[0134] The medical skin suture retainer of the present invention enables precise suturing of a skin incision (111) through this structural design, and is designed to be maintained for a long time through the combination of the hook portion (120, 220) and the catch portion (130, 230). In addition, the skin adhesive surface (110, 210) serves to increase stability during the suturing process by maximizing adhesion to the skin. Through this, the medical skin suture retainer is configured to safely and firmly protect the skin incision (111).

[0137] FIG. 5 is an enlarged drawing illustrating structural details related to the hook portion (120, 220) of the medical skin suture retainer of the present invention. This drawing describes the detailed technical configuration of the hook portion (120, 220), insertion groove (140, 240), notch portion (150, 250), inclined surface (160, 260), and opener (165), which are key fastening elements of the medical skin suture retainer.

[0139] The hook portions (120, 220) are formed on the inner ends (115, 215) of the first attachment portion (100) and the second attachment portion (200), respectively, and engage with the insertion grooves (140, 240) during the fastening process to provide a strong retaining force. In the present invention, the hook portions (120, 220) are designed to be accurately coupled with the insertion grooves (140, 240), thereby allowing the medical skin suture retainer to be maintained stably for a long period of time.

[0141] The notch portion (150, 250) is formed on the upper part of the hook portion (120, 220) and is configured to generate a certain elastic deformation when fastened. That is, when the medical skin suture retainer is fastened, the hook portion (120, 220) advances as the notch portion (150, 250) is tilted upward by the guidance of the inclined surface (160, 260), and after being fastened to the insertion groove (140, 240), returns to its original position to form a fixing force.

[0143] The inclined surface (160, 260) is a component that facilitates the smooth connection of the hook portion (120, 220) and acts as a guide to allow the hook portion (120, 220) to enter the insertion groove (140, 240) without strain. Through this, the medical skin suture retainer can achieve a smooth connection when connected and minimize unnecessary resistance.

[0145] The opener (165) is a structure used for disassembling a medical skin suture retainer and helps to easily separate the connected hook portion (120, 220). The user can use the opener (165) to lift the hook portion (120, 220) upward and disassemble it from the insertion groove (140, 240), thereby safely removing the medical skin suture retainer while minimizing discomfort to the patient.

[0147] The medical skin suture retainer of the present invention enables precise suturing of the skin incision (111) through this structural design and is configured to be maintained for a long time through the combination of the hook portion (120, 220) and the insertion groove (140, 240). In addition, to reduce the burden that may occur during the fastening and unfastening process of the medical skin suture retainer, an inclined surface (160, 260) and an opener (165) are additionally applied to maximize user convenience.
