[0033] This invention relates to a disaster broadcasting transmission device and method.
[0034] FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram of a disaster broadcast transmission system according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0035] Referring to FIG. 1, a disaster broadcast transmission system (10) (hereinafter referred to as the transmission system (10)) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include an antenna (1), a terrestrial signal processor (2), a disaster broadcast transmission device (100) (hereinafter referred to as the transmission device (100)), and a display device (3).
[0036] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the transmission system (10) is intended to provide multiple broadcasts to a display device (3), such as a television, installed in a multi-unit building such as an apartment, and may be a system that not only provides general broadcasts but also automatically transmits disaster broadcasts when a disaster occurs to notify multiple households of the occurrence of a disaster.
[0037] Specifically, the terrestrial signal received through the antenna (1) can be primarily preprocessed in the terrestrial signal processor (2). Here, the antenna (1) may be a rooftop terrestrial antenna installed on the rooftop of a building, and may perform conversion for transmitting and receiving electromagnetic waves in a specific range such as air waves (SBS, KBS 1, KBS 2, MBC, EBS, OBS, etc.), FM, DMB, etc.
[0038] Additionally, the terrestrial signal processor (2) may first receive the original terrestrial signal transmitted from the transmitting station through the antenna (1) and perform initial amplification and purification of the received terrestrial signal (e.g., AIR14-18). Additionally, the terrestrial signal processor (2) may perform signal preprocessing for distributing the signal to multiple buildings / households.
[0039] The transmission device (100) receives a terrestrial broadcast signal processed by a terrestrial signal processor (2) and an external video signal input via HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface), CVBS (Composite Video Banking Sync), etc., and transmits it to a display device (3) in a number of buildings / households, and may receive a disaster warning signal when a disaster occurs and transmit the disaster signal to the display device (3).
[0040] At this time, the antenna (1), the terrestrial signal processor (2), the transmission device (100), and the display device (3) may generally exchange signals with each other via a coaxial cable. Additionally, the display device (3) refers to a device capable of transmitting broadcasts through the transmission device (100), and may be a television installed in each household, but is not limited thereto.
[0041] For example, the display device (3) may be a smartphone, smart pad, tablet PC, wearable device, and all kinds of wireless communication devices such as PCS (Personal Communication System), GSM (Global System for Mobile communication), PDC (Personal Digital Cellular), PHS (Personal Handyphone System), PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), IMT (International Mobile Telecommunication)-2000, CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access)-2000, W-CDMA (W-Code Division Multiple Access), Wibro (Wireless Broadband Internet) terminals, and a fixed terminal such as a desktop computer and a smart TV.
[0042] Additionally, when the display device (3) is equipped as a device in the form of a terminal other than a television, the transmitting device (100) may transmit the transmitted signal through other networks. For example, such networks may include, but are not limited to, 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) networks, LTE (Long Term Evolution) networks, 5G networks, WIMAX (World Interoperability for Microwave Access) networks, wired and wireless Internet, LAN (Local Area Network), Wireless LAN (Wireless Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), PAN (Personal Area Network), Bluetooth networks, Wi-Fi networks, NFC (Near Field Communication) networks, satellite broadcasting networks, analog broadcasting networks, DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) networks, etc.
[0043] Hereinafter, a process for transmitting a disaster broadcast when a disaster occurs using a transmission device (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail.
[0044] FIG. 2 is a schematic diagram of a disaster broadcast transmission device according to one embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 3 is a diagram showing a received signal and a transmitted signal prior to the occurrence of a disaster according to one embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 4 is a diagram showing a transmitted signal at the time of a disaster according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0045] According to one embodiment of the present invention, a transmitting device (100) may receive a terrestrial broadcast signal and output a first frequency signal. In this regard, the terrestrial broadcast signal may include AIR14 (MBC), AIR15 (KBS 1), AIR16 (SBS), AIR17 (KBS 2), and AIR18 (EBS).
[0046] Referring to FIG. 2, the transmitting device (100) can process a terrestrial broadcast signal into a first frequency signal (RF input 1) using an RF amplifier and a filter. In other words, the transmitting device (100) may amplify and refine the terrestrial broadcast signal to process it into a first frequency signal and output it. Specifically, the terrestrial broadcast signal input to the transmitting device (100) may have different magnitudes as shown in FIG. 3 (a).
[0047] Accordingly, the transmitting device (100) may perform signal amplification using an RF amplifier and signal purification using a filter for different terrestrial broadcast signals, thereby processing the finally transmitted terrestrial broadcast signals to become signals having the same size and shape as in Fig. 3 (b).
[0048] According to one embodiment of the present invention, a transmitting device (100) may receive an external video signal and output a second frequency signal. In this regard, the external video signal may include a signal through an HDMI input and a signal through a CVBW input, and the signal through the HDMI input may include a signal for a video stored on an SD card that is output via HDMI if there is a video stored on an SD card.
[0049] Referring to FIG. 2, the transmitting device (100) can process an external video signal into a second frequency signal (RF input 2), which is a digital broadcast signal, using an encoder modulator. Specifically, the transmitting device (100) may use an encoder modulator to encode a video input via HDMI or CVBW and output an 8VSB signal as the second frequency signal.
[0050] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the transmitting device (100) can detect whether a disaster warning signal has occurred. Specifically, when a disaster occurs, an emergency switch is switched and a disaster warning signal may be generated, and the transmitting device (100) may detect whether a disaster warning signal has occurred by means of the emergency switch.
[0051] In this regard, the transmitting device (100) may transmit a first frequency signal and a second frequency signal to the display device (3) in accordance with channel operation via user operation (e.g., operation using a remote control) of the display device (3) when no disaster warning signal is generated, that is, in a normal state where no disaster occurs, so that an image corresponding to the first frequency signal and the second frequency signal is output to the display device (3).
[0052] On the other hand, the transmission device (100) may generate a disaster signal or transmit a pre-stored disaster signal to the display device (3) when a disaster warning signal occurs, that is, when a disaster occurs, so that a disaster broadcast based on the disaster signal is output to the display device (3).
[0053] In this regard, the disaster signal is a signal for outputting a disaster broadcast. Referring to FIG. 2, when a disaster alarm signal is generated from an emergency switch, a DSP (Digital Signal Processor) may generate a disaster signal or load a pre-stored disaster signal. The transmission device (100) may transmit such a disaster signal to enable the disaster broadcast to be output to the display device (3).
[0054] Specifically, the transmitting device (100) may convert the second frequency signal into a disaster signal when a disaster warning signal is generated. That is, when a disaster warning signal is generated, the transmitting device (100) may generate or load a disaster signal and transmit the disaster signal instead of the second frequency signal, thereby causing the disaster broadcast to be transmitted to the second channel where the broadcast based on the second frequency signal was being transmitted.
[0055] Additionally, referring to FIG. 2, the transmitting device (100) may generate a virtual broadcast channel for transmitting a disaster broadcast by outputting a disaster signal when a disaster warning signal is generated and a disaster signal is created or loaded. At this time, the virtual broadcast channel may, for example, be an AIR2 channel with channel number 0-1, but is not limited thereto and may be any one of the empty channels not used by other broadcasts. The transmitting device (100) may transmit the disaster signal through the generated virtual broadcast channel.
[0056] Additionally, referring to FIG. 4, when a disaster warning signal is generated and a disaster signal is created or loaded, the transmitting device (100) can copy and overwrite the disaster signal on the first channel where the first frequency signal was being transmitted, thereby transmitting the disaster signal through the first channel and allowing the disaster broadcast to be output from the first channel. Referring to FIG. 4, it can be seen that all first frequency signals corresponding to the terrestrial broadcast signal being transmitted through the first channel are converted into the same disaster signal. Through this, the transmitting device (100) can enable the same disaster broadcast to be output on all channels that were outputting the terrestrial broadcast belonging to the first channel.
[0057] In this regard, the transmitting device (100) transmits a first frequency signal, a second frequency signal, and a disaster signal based on channel information according to the PSIP (Program and System Information Protocol) defined in the ATSC A / 65 standard, and may generate a disaster signal and transmit the disaster signal quickly when urgent disaster warning information occurs by using the monitoring cycle of the MGT (Master Guide Table), which is a table that monitors the existence and location of various PSIP tables at a 150ms interval, and the VCT (Virtual Channel Table), which is a table that monitors channel numbers, broadcast station identification information, and broadcast service types (e.g., television, radio, etc.) at a 400ms interval.
[0058] For example, if channel number 7-1, which is KBS Channel 1, is selected on the display device (3) and a disaster occurs while a broadcast is being transmitted on that channel, the transmission device (100) can copy the disaster signal to the first frequency signal being transmitted on that channel so that the disaster signal is transmitted on that channel, since that channel corresponds to the first channel, or internally (i.e., the channel that is outwardly visible does not change so that the user watching the display device (3) does not perceive it, but is actually changed internally) switch the channel to a virtual broadcast channel so that the disaster signal is transmitted. Through this, the transmission device (100) can automatically transmit the disaster signal without any separate operation by the user, so that the user can naturally recognize the occurrence of the disaster.
[0059] In other words, the transmitting device (100) may selectively transmit at least one signal among a first frequency signal, a second frequency signal, and a disaster signal depending on whether a disaster warning signal occurs, and when a disaster warning signal occurs, transmit the disaster signal, but may transmit the disaster signal through at least one of the following methods: converting the second frequency signal into a disaster signal and transmitting it, transmitting it through a virtual broadcast channel, and copying and transmitting the disaster signal to a first channel.
[0060] As described above, the transmission device (100), unlike the conventional method of transmitting disaster signals through a separate communication cable, uses a method of switching the existing second frequency signal, using an unused channel, or copying the disaster signal to the existing first channel, thereby enabling the transmission of disaster broadcasts using only the cable provided for broadcast viewing without the installation of additional cables, and thereby enabling the simultaneous provision of disaster broadcasts to a plurality of interconnected display devices (3).
[0061] In other words, the transmission device (100) is constructed using only a cable for viewing broadcasts, and by using an RF signal to transmit a disaster broadcast from one transmitter to multiple display devices (3), it can transmit a disaster broadcast to multiple households simultaneously.
[0062] Meanwhile, the transmitting device (100) can detect whether a display device (3) outputting at least one broadcast video corresponding to a first frequency signal, a second frequency signal, and a disaster signal is ON / OFF. Specifically, the transmitting device (100) can detect whether each display device (3) is ON / OFF by collecting status information of each of the interconnected display devices (3).
[0063] The transmission device (100) may detect a display device (3) that is in an OFF state when a disaster warning signal is generated and the disaster signal is created and loaded, and switch each display device (3) that is in an OFF state to an ON state to transmit the disaster signal. Through this, the transmission device (100) can automatically control the power of multiple connected display devices (3) to quickly notify of the occurrence of a disaster even when the user is not watching a broadcast through the display device (3).
[0064] In other words, the transmission device (100) can automatically control the power and channel of the display device (3) when a disaster occurs and store the disaster signal in advance, thereby enabling the rapid delivery of the disaster broadcast to a user who has turned off the power of the display device (3) or is watching content on a specific channel without additional operation.
[0065] Additionally, when the disaster warning signal is deactivated, the transmitting device (100) may restore the switched signal and the copied and overwritten signal again, as shown in Fig. 3 (b), and transmit the first frequency signal and the second frequency signal.
[0066] That is, the display device (3) that was transmitting the disaster signal may output the disaster broadcast through a virtual broadcast channel or a first channel or a second channel, and when the disaster warning signal is deactivated, return to the channel prior to the occurrence of the disaster warning signal and output the broadcast video corresponding to that channel.
[0067] FIG. 5 is a schematic block diagram of a disaster broadcast transmission device according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0068] Referring to FIG. 5, the transmitting device (100) may include a sensing unit (110), a first relay unit (120), a second relay unit (130), a detection unit (140), and a transmitting unit (150).
[0069] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the detection unit (110) can detect whether a disaster warning signal has occurred.
[0070] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the first relay unit (120) may receive a terrestrial broadcast signal and output a first frequency signal. Specifically, the first relay unit (120) may amplify and refine the terrestrial broadcast signal to process it into a first frequency signal and output it.
[0071] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the second relay unit (130) may receive an external video signal and output a second frequency signal. Specifically, the second relay unit (130) may convert the external video signal into a second frequency signal, which is a digital broadcast signal, and output it.
[0072] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the detection unit (140) can detect whether the display device (3) outputting at least one broadcast video corresponding to the first frequency signal, the second frequency signal, and the disaster signal is on or off.
[0073] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the transmitting unit (150) may selectively transmit at least one signal among a first frequency signal, a second frequency signal, and a disaster signal depending on whether a disaster warning signal is generated.
[0074] In this regard, the transmitting unit (150) may convert the second frequency signal into a disaster signal when a disaster warning signal is generated. Specifically, when the disaster warning signal is generated and the transmission unit (150) receives the disaster signal from the second relay unit (130), it may create a virtual broadcast channel and transmit the disaster signal through the virtual broadcast channel. Additionally, when the disaster warning signal is generated and the transmission unit (150) receives the disaster signal from the second relay unit (130), it may copy and transmit the disaster signal to the first channel that was transmitting the first frequency signal.
[0075] Additionally, the transmitting unit (150) may switch the display device (3) to the ON state and transmit the disaster signal when the display device (3) is in the OFF state and a disaster signal is received.
[0076] Below, based on the details described above, we will briefly examine the operation flow of the present invention.

Specifically, in step S12, the first relay unit (120) may amplify and refine the terrestrial broadcast signal to process it into a first frequency signal and output it.
[0082] Next, in step S13, the second relay unit (130) may receive an external video signal and output a second frequency signal. [0083] Next, in step S14, the detection unit (140) can detect whether the display device (3) outputting at least one broadcast video corresponding to the first frequency signal, the second frequency signal, and the disaster signal is on or off.
[0084] Next, in step S15, the transmitting unit (150) may selectively transmit at least one signal among the first frequency signal, the second frequency signal, and the disaster signal depending on whether a disaster warning signal is generated.
[0085] In this regard, in step S15, the transmitting unit (150) may convert the second frequency signal into a disaster signal when a disaster warning signal is generated. Specifically, in step S15, when a disaster warning signal is generated and the transmission unit (150) receives a disaster signal from the second relay unit (130), it may create a virtual broadcast channel and transmit the disaster signal through the virtual broadcast channel.
