Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a burner for nanopowder synthesis, a nanopowder synthesis apparatus using the same, and a nanopowder synthesis method. More specifically, it relates to a burner for nanopowder synthesis applicable to a vapor phase method, a nanopowder synthesis apparatus using the same, and a nanopowder synthesis method. Background Technology
[0002] With the recent development of material synthesis technology, nanopowder synthesis technology has been developed to produce particles with sizes reaching the nanometer level. This nanopowder synthesis technology is classified into solid-phase, liquid-phase, and gas-phase methods depending on the synthesis technique.
[0003] The solid-state method utilizes chemical reactions between solid phases to produce nano-sized powders using mechanical milling or high-energy grinding. While the solid-state method is relatively easy to process, it has disadvantages, such as requiring significant energy and time for synthesis and producing particles with uneven shapes.
[0004] Liquid-phase methods utilize chemical reactions within a liquid phase. Liquid-phase methods capable of synthesizing nanopowders include coprecipitation, sol-gel, hydrothermal synthesis, and inverse micelle methods. While liquid-phase methods offer the advantage of enabling large-scale powder synthesis at relatively low costs, they have disadvantages. Due to the low-temperature nature of the process, crystallinity is low, and the use of large amounts of dispersants leads to reduced particle purity and consequently degraded functionality.
[0005] The gas phase method is a method that utilizes chemical reactions in the gas phase, synthesizing powder by using one or more gas phase raw materials to induce gas-gas phase, gas-liquid, or gas-solid chemical reactions.
[0006] In the gas phase method, a burner can be used to induce a chemical reaction.
[0007] In the burner used in the vapor phase method, various raw materials for synthesizing nanopowder can be supplied, and supply nozzles for supplying each raw material are configured to be arranged in a concentric circle (e.g., U.S. Patent No. 4589260).
[0008] Although a burner configured in this manner has the advantage of a simple structure, it has the problem that it is difficult to induce a uniform reaction inside the burner because different types of substances are supplied through separate supply nozzles, causing the reaction to proceed only at the contact surfaces of each substance.
[0009] In addition, there is a problem in that precise control is difficult because the average particle size, shape, and purity of the generated nanopowder vary sensitively depending on where the reaction occurs in the burner.
[0010] Meanwhile, to solve the aforementioned problem, Korean Patent No. 10-0673385 (Title: Nanopowder Combustion Reactor, Nanopowder Synthesis Device Using the Nanopowder Combustion Reactor, and Control Method of the Nanopowder Synthesis Device) was developed by injecting combustion gas from the center of the burner and placing a raw material supply nozzle at a point physically separated from the combustion gas supply nozzle.
[0011] However, the nanopowder combustion reactor described above has a structure in which the raw material supply nozzle is positioned at a point physically separated from the combustion gas supply nozzle. As the amount of raw material supplied increases, the flame that promotes the combustion reaction is swept away in the direction where the raw material supply nozzle is located, and eventually, as the combustion gas fails to reach the flame, a problem arises in which the flame becomes unstable.
[0012] Accordingly, there is a need for the development of technology that enables the flame to be formed stably even when the amount of raw material supplied to the burner increases.
[0013] Meanwhile, the aforementioned background technology is technical information that the inventor possessed for the derivation of the present invention or acquired during the process of deriving the present invention, and it cannot be considered as prior art disclosed to the general public prior to the filing of the present invention. [0031] According to another aspect of the present invention, a flame forming step may be further included prior to the injection step.
[0032] According to another aspect of the present invention, the synthesis step may include a step of controlling the flow rate or velocity of combustion gas injected into the outside of the burner tube along the longitudinal direction of the burner tube to control the flame generation area formed in the flame formation step. Effects of the invention
[0033] The burner for synthesizing nanopowder according to the present invention includes a rotating blade disposed inside the burner tube, so that a vortex can be formed inside the burner tube through the rotation of the rotating blade, thereby inducing the mixing of the first raw material and the second raw material inside the burner tube before the combustion reaction. Accordingly, a more uniform reaction is induced, and high-quality nanopowder can be synthesized.
[0034] Furthermore, the nanopowder synthesis apparatus of the present invention includes an outwardly expanding nozzle, and is characterized by the fact that the gap between the chamber and the nozzle is gradually reduced due to the morphological characteristics of the nozzle. This feature induces a Venturi effect of the combustion gas and enables control of the flow velocity and flow rate of the combustion gas. Additionally, it is possible to form a circulation of the combustion gas within the chamber, thereby enabling flame stabilization.
[0035] In addition, the nanopowder synthesis method of the present invention includes a step of controlling the rotational speed of a rotating blade in the mixed gas generation step, so the degree of vortex within the burner tube can be precisely controlled through the rotational control of the rotating blade, and thereby the degree of mixing of the first raw material and the second raw material can be precisely controlled. Accordingly, the particle characteristics of the nanopowder (e.g., particle size, purity, shape, etc.) can be precisely controlled.

However, the present invention may be embodied in various different forms and is not limited to the embodiments described herein. Furthermore, in order to clearly explain the present invention in the drawings, parts unrelated to the explanation have been omitted, and similar parts throughout the specification are denoted by similar reference numerals.
[0039] Throughout the specification, when a part is described as being "connected" to another part, this includes not only cases where they are "directly connected," but also cases where they are "indirectly connected" with other members or elements interposed between them. Furthermore, when a part is described as "including" a certain component, this means that, unless specifically stated otherwise, it does not exclude other components but may include additional components.
[0040] The term referred to as “open side” in this specification may be interpreted as having the same meaning as “open side.”
[0041] The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the attached drawings.
[0042] FIG. 1 is a partial cross-sectional view of a burner for nanopowder synthesis according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0043] Referring to FIG. 1, the burner for nanopowder synthesis of the present invention is a device that mixes and burns a plurality of raw materials, and is a component applicable to a nanopowder synthesis device using a combustion reaction.
[0044] The burner for nanopowder synthesis of the present invention can produce nano-sized powders (e.g., metals, ceramics, etc.) through a combustion reaction at high temperatures. The burner for nanopowder synthesis of the present invention can be applied to gas-phase methods that synthesize powder by inducing a chemical reaction in the gas phase, and the raw materials can be applied in various ways, such as by spraying liquid raw materials or by spraying gaseous raw materials.
[0045] A burner (100) for synthesizing nanopowder includes a rotating blade (110), a burner tube (120), and an expanding nozzle (130).
[0046] In FIG. 1, a cross-sectional view of the burner tube (120) excluding the rotating blade (110) is disclosed, and the rotating blade (110) is shown in a schematic shape.
[0047] The rotating blade (110) is configured to generate a vortex inside the burner tube (120) through a rotating motion.
[0048] The rotating blade (110) includes a blade body (111), a rotating blade (113), and a first hollow (115).
[0049] The blade body (111) forms the body of the rotating blade (110) and can be formed in the shape of a hollow tube.
[0050] The blade body (111) is extended in one direction. The length of the blade body (111) is defined as the length in the extended direction of the blade body (111), and the length of the blade body (111) may correspond to the length of the rotating blade (110). The term referred to as “length of the blade body (111)” in this specification may be interpreted as having the same meaning as “length of the rotating blade (110).” The length of the blade body (111) may be configured to be about 1 / 3 to 2 / 3 times the length of the burner tube (120t). When the length of the blade body (111) is configured within the above-described range, the rotating blade (110) can be inserted into the burner tube (120), and sufficient clearance can be secured within the burner tube (120) so that a vortex can be formed through the rotation of the rotating blade (110).
[0051] Since the blade body (111) is configured in the form of a tube, the cross-section cut in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the blade body (111) has a predetermined width. Here, the width may correspond to the size of the outer circumference of the cross-section of the blade body (111). The width of the blade body (111) corresponds to the width of the rotating blade (110), and the term referred to as “width of the blade body (111)” in this specification may be interpreted as having the same meaning as “width of the rotating blade (110).” The width of the blade body (111) may be appropriately determined according to the required characteristics of the burner (100) for nanopowder synthesis. If the width of the blade body (111) is excessively small, the width of the first hollow (115) also becomes small, so a sufficient amount of the first raw material may not be supplied through the first hollow (115), and it may not be suitable for mass synthesis of nanopowder. On the other hand, if the width of the blade body (111) is excessively large, the overall width of the rotating blade (110) increases, making it difficult to form a vortex through rotation, and since a lot of energy may be consumed to rotate the rotating blade (110), inefficiency in the process may occur.
[0052] The cross-section of the blade body (111) may be circular. However, it is not limited to this, and the cross-section of the blade body (111) may be formed in various shapes other than circular, such as elliptical or polygonal.
[0053] The first hollow (115) refers to an inner space provided in the blade body (111) of the rotating blade (110), and may be a space for supplying the first raw material supplied from the first raw material supply nozzle (140) to the burner tube (120).
[0054] Here, the first raw material is a precursor material for producing nanopowder, and may include various elements such as metals depending on the constituent elements of the nanopowder to be produced.
[0055] The first hollow (115) can be configured in the shape of a cylinder as shown in FIG. 1. However, it is not limited thereto, and the first hollow (115) can be configured in various three-dimensional shapes other than a cylinder, such as an elliptical cylinder or a polygonal cylinder.
[0056] The first hollow (115) is extended in one direction. The length of the first hollow (115) is defined as the length in the extended direction of the first hollow (115), and the length of the first hollow (115) may correspond to the length of the blade body (111). The term referred to in this specification as “length of the first hollow (115)” may be interpreted as having the same meaning as “length of the rotating blade (110).” The length of the first hollow (115) may be configured to be about 1 / 3 to 2 / 3 times the length of the burner tube (120t). When the length of the first hollow (115) is configured within the range described above, the upper outlet of the first hollow (115) is located lower than the upper outlet of the burner tube (120), so the first raw material supplied through the first hollow (115) can be sufficiently supplied to the vortex-forming space of the burner tube (120).
[0057] Since the first hollow (115) corresponds to the inner surface of the tube of the blade body (111), the cross-section cut in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the first hollow (115) has a predetermined width. In this case, the difference between the width of the blade body (111) and the width of the first hollow (115) may correspond to the thickness of the blade body (111). Meanwhile, the width of the first hollow (115) can be appropriately determined according to the required characteristics of the burner (100) for nano powder synthesis. If the width of the first hollow (115) is excessively small, a sufficient amount of the first raw material may not be supplied through the rotating blade (110), and it may not be suitable for mass synthesis of nano powder. On the other hand, if the width of the first hollow (115) is excessively large, the thickness of the blade body (111) may become relatively thin, and the strength or durability of the rotating blade (110) may be reduced.
[0058] Although FIG. 1 shows an example in which the first hollow (115) is composed of a single one, the first hollow (115) may be composed of multiple holes, and a detailed explanation thereof will be provided later with reference to FIG. 2b.
[0059] The rotating blade (113) is positioned on the outer surface of the blade body (111) and generates a vortex when the rotating blade (110) rotates.
[0060] The rotating blades (113) may be composed of multiple blades. For example, it may be preferable for the rotating blades (113) to be composed of 6 to 12 blades. In this case, when the rotating blade (110) rotates at a constant angular velocity, sufficient vortices can be formed. However, the number of rotating blades (113) is not limited to this, and the number of rotating blades (113) can be appropriately selected according to the width and length of the blade body (111).
[0061] The rotating blade (113) can be positioned at a predetermined angle (θ) with respect to the axis of rotation.
[0062] For example, the angle (θ) of the rotating blade (113) can be 45 to 75 degrees.
[0063] When the angle of the rotating blade (113) is set to the range described above, the vortex intensity is controlled to an appropriate range according to the type of raw material, thereby inducing uniform mixing of the raw material. However, if the angle of the rotating blade (113) is less than 45 degrees, rotation becomes difficult, and if the angle of the rotating blade (113) exceeds 75 degrees, a problem may occur in which no vortex is generated.
[0064] As described above, the rotating blade (110) can be housed inside the burner tube (120) so as to be rotatable. Specifically, although not shown in FIG. 1, a motor is positioned at the central axis of the burner tube (120), and the blade body (111) can be connected to the motor so that the blade body (111) can rotate around the central axis. For example, the blade body (111) and the motor can be interconnected by connecting the inner surface of the blade body (111) and the rotation axis of the motor via at least one link. Meanwhile, the link may be formed radially.
[0065] The rotating blade (110) can be placed at the bottom of the burner tube (120).
[0066] Additionally, the rotating blade (110) may be spaced apart from the boundary where the burner tube (120) and the expansion nozzle (130) meet by a predetermined distance. For example, the predetermined distance may be configured to be about 1 / 3 to 2 / 3 times the length of the burner tube (120t). When the rotating blade (110) is inserted and positioned inside the burner tube (120) at the distance described above, sufficient clearance can be secured for a vortex to be formed through the rotation of the rotating blade (110).
[0067] The blade body (111), rotating blade (113), etc., constituting the rotating blade (110) can all be made of the same material. For example, the rotating blade (110) can be made of a material with uniform porosity such as metal fiber, ceramic, perforated metal plate, and stainless steel fin, or a heat-resistant metal such as Fe, Ni-Fe alloy, Ni-Cr-Fe alloy, or Ni-Co-Fe alloy. In this case, even if a high-temperature flame reaction is induced through the nanopowder synthesis burner (100), the thermal stress of the rotating blade (110) can be minimized, and the destruction of the rotating blade (110) due to heat can be minimized.
[0068] The burner tube (120) accommodates the rotating blade (110) and provides a physical space for supplying a second raw material to the outside of the rotating blade (110). Additionally, the burner tube (120) provides a physical space where a vortex can be generated.
[0069] The burner tube (120) includes a second hollow (125) and is configured in the form of a tube with an empty interior.
[0070] The burner tube (120) may be configured as a circular tube as shown in FIG. 1. However, it is not limited thereto, and the burner tube (120) may be configured in various three-dimensional shapes other than a circular tube, such as an elliptical tube or a polygonal tube.
[0071] The burner tube (120) may be made of the same material as the rotating blade (110). For example, it may be made of a material with uniform porosity or a heat-resistant metal.
[0072] The burner tube (120) is extended in a long direction toward one side. The burner tube length (120t) is defined as the length in the extended direction of the burner tube (120), and the burner tube length (120t) may correspond to the length of the second hollow (125). The term referred to as “burner tube length (120t)” in this specification may be interpreted as having the same meaning as “length of the second hollow (125).” The aforementioned burner tube length (120t) may be configured to be approximately 1.5 to 3 times the length of the rotating blade (110). When the burner tube length (120t) is configured within the aforementioned range, sufficient clearance space can be secured for a vortex to be formed through the rotation of the rotating blade (110).
[0073] Additionally, since the burner tube (120) is configured in the shape of a tube, the cross-section cut in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the burner tube (120) has a predetermined width. Here, the width may correspond to the size of the outer circumference of the cross-section of the burner tube (120).
[0074] The second hollow (125) refers to the inner space of the burner tube (120). A rotating blade (110) is inserted into the second hollow (125), and a second raw material can be supplied through the second raw material supply nozzle (150) into the space between the rotating blade (110) and the inner surface of the second hollow (125).
[0075] Here, the second raw material is a material that is synthesized into a nanopowder by chemically reacting with the first raw material, and may be a raw material containing additive elements, catalysts, reaction gases, etc. The second raw material may be a gaseous, liquid, or solid raw material containing one or more of the elements described above, and preferably may be a gaseous raw material.
[0076] The second hollow (125) can be configured in the shape of a cylinder as shown in FIG. 1. However, it is not limited thereto, and the second hollow (125) can be configured in various shapes other than a cylinder, such as an elliptical cylinder or a polygonal cylinder.
[0077] Additionally, the second hollow (125) is extended in the longitudinal direction of the burner tube (120), and the length of the second hollow (125) is configured to correspond to the length of the burner tube (120t).
[0078] The second hollow (125) may have a width sufficient to allow sufficient injection of the second raw material and sufficient vortex formation according to the rotation of the rotating blade (110). Specifically, if the width of the second hollow (125) is too small, a sufficient amount of the second raw material cannot be supplied through the burner tube (120), so it may not be suitable for mass synthesis of nanopowder. On the other hand, if the width of the second hollow (125) is too large, the gap between the second hollow (125) and the rotating blade (110) becomes too wide, so some of the second raw material supplied through the second hollow (125) may not form a vortex, and uniform mixing of the raw material may not be induced.
[0079] The second hollow (125) may be formed as one within the burner tube (120). In some embodiments, the second hollow (125) may be formed of a plurality of holes. In this case, a rotating blade (110) may be inserted into any one of the plurality of second hollows (125).
[0080] The expansion nozzle (130) is positioned at the top of the burner tube (120) and configured to communicate with the burner tube (120), and can be formed to guide the movement path of the mixed gas.
[0081] The expansion nozzle (130) is connected to one side of the burner tube (120) and can be configured so that the cross-sectional area gradually expands outward from the open side connected to one side of the burner tube (120) to the other open side. For example, the expansion nozzle (130) can be formed in a funnel-shaped structure, and the opening area of the expansion nozzle (130) can become wider from the open side to the other open side.
[0082] The expansion nozzle (130) is formed to be inclined at a predetermined angle with respect to a line perpendicular to the contact surface that contacts the burner tube (120). The flow rate and velocity of the combustion gas injected to the outside of the nanopowder synthesis burner (100) can be controlled by the inclined angle of the expansion nozzle (130).
[0083] Specifically, the slope of one side of the expanded nozzle (130) becomes gentler as the length of the expanded nozzle (130t) increases, and becomes steeper as the length of the expanded nozzle (130t) decreases. When the length of the expanded nozzle (130t) is long (i.e., when the slope of one side of the expanded nozzle (130) is gentle), the flow rate of the raw material (e.g., combustion gas) injected from the outside of the burner for nanopowder synthesis may decrease, and as the injection speed of the combustion gas decreases, the length of the flame generated at the center of the expanded nozzle (130) may decrease. On the other hand, when the length of the expanded nozzle (130t) is short (i.e., when the slope of one side of the expanded nozzle (130) is steep), the flow rate of the raw material injected from the outside of the burner for nanopowder synthesis increases, and the length of the flame may increase.
[0084] Meanwhile, the nano powder synthesis device (300) can control the flow rate of combustion gas injected from the outside of the expanded nozzle (130) by controlling the distance between the open side of the expanded nozzle (130) and the chamber (360). For example, as the open side of the expanded nozzle (130) becomes larger, the distance between the open side of the expanded nozzle (130) and the chamber (360) decreases, so the flow rate of combustion gas can be reduced. In this case, as the flow rate of combustion gas decreases, the flame can be formed relatively small, and the width of the flame can be reduced. On the other hand, as the size of the open side of the expanded nozzle (130) becomes smaller, the distance between the open side of the expanded nozzle (130) and the chamber (360) becomes wider, so the flow rate of combustion gas can be increased. In this case, as the flow rate of combustion gas increases, the flame can be formed relatively large, and the width of the flame can be increased.
[0085] The expansion nozzle (130) may be positioned at the top of the burner (100) for nanopowder synthesis. Specifically, the expansion nozzle (130) may be positioned to be in contact with an open side of the burner tube (120). Additionally, the expansion nozzle (130) may be detachably coupled to the burner tube (120) or may be composed of a single body connected to the burner tube (120).
[0086] The expansion nozzle (130) may be made of the same material as the burner tube (120). However, it is not limited to this, and the expansion nozzle (130) and the burner tube (120) may be made of different materials. If the expansion nozzle (130) is made of a different material from the burner tube (120), the expansion nozzle (130) may be made of a material with excellent heat resistance and chemical resistance.
[0087] In some embodiments, at least one raw material supply nozzle (140, 150) may be disposed on the lower surface of the burner tube (120).
[0088] The raw material supply nozzle (140, 150) may be configured to inject raw materials into the nano powder synthesis burner (100) and includes a first raw material supply nozzle (140) and a second raw material supply nozzle (150).
[0089] The raw material supply nozzle (140, 150) can be detachably coupled to the lower surface of the burner tube (120), and in some embodiments, it can be formed integrally with the lower surface of the burner tube (120).
[0090] The raw material supply nozzle (140, 150) can be selected in various ways depending on the characteristics of the raw material used. For example, when the raw material is supplied in a gaseous state, the raw material supply nozzle (140, 150) can be configured in the form of a valve that discharges the gaseous raw material, for example, a straight type, a conical type, a hollow conical type, a fan type, etc. In addition, when the raw material is supplied in a liquid state, the raw material supply nozzle (140, 150) can be configured in various forms capable of spraying the liquid raw material in an aerosol form, and preferably, it can be configured by using an ultrasonic vibrator. When the raw material is supplied in a solid state, the solid raw material can be supplied to the raw material supply nozzle (140, 150) by melting it or by dissolving it in a liquid solvent and supplying it to the raw material supply nozzle (140, 150). In addition, the solid raw material can be vaporized and supplied to the raw material supply nozzle (140, 150) in a gaseous state. In this case, the raw material supply nozzle (140, 150) may be configured with the nozzle of the type described above depending on whether the final supplied raw material is in a liquid or gaseous state.
[0091] The raw material supply nozzle (140, 150) may be made of a metal such as brass or stainless steel, a ceramic such as alumina, or a resin such as hard vinyl chloride, heat-resistant vinyl chloride, polypropylene, or urethane resin.
[0092] The spray angle and spray volume of the raw material supply nozzle (140, 150) can be appropriately adjusted according to the characteristics of the raw material (e.g., mass). Specifically, the raw material supply nozzle (140, 150) is connected to a bearing that is inserted into the interior of the rotating blade (110), and can be coupled so as to be tiltable for accurate spraying according to the inner diameter of the bearing.
[0093] The first raw material supply nozzle (140) is configured to supply the first raw material to the first hollow (115) of the rotating blade (110).
[0094] The second raw material supply nozzle (150) is configured to supply the second raw material to the second hollow (125) of the burner tube (120).
[0095] The first raw material supply nozzle (140) is connected to a bearing that is inserted into the interior of the rotating blade (110), and the bearing can rotate according to the rotation of the rotating blade (110). Accordingly, the first raw material supply nozzle (140) can also rotate according to the rotation of the rotating blade (110). In this case, the first raw material sprayed from the first raw material supply nozzle (140) can form a vortex due to the centrifugal force caused by rotation, and the vortex of the first raw material in the first hollow (115) and the vortex of the second raw material in the second hollow can be mixed, thereby further increasing the mixing efficiency of the first raw material and the second raw material.
[0096] The second raw material supply nozzle (150) is connected to a bearing that is inserted into the interior of the burner tube (150), and the second raw material supply nozzle (150) can spray the second raw material toward the rotating blade (113) of the rotating blade (110). In this case, the second raw material sprayed from the second raw material supply nozzle (150) can form a vortex due to the rotation of the rotating blade (110) and can rapidly spread toward the open side of the burner tube (120). Meanwhile, the spray angle and amount of the second raw material of the second raw material supply nozzle (150) can be appropriately set according to the angle and number of rotating blades (113) of the rotating blade (110).
[0097] FIGS. 2a to 2c are plan views of a burner for nanopowder synthesis according to embodiments of the present invention. Specifically, FIGS. 2a to 2c are plan views with respect to the II-II' direction of FIG. 1.
[0098] As described above, since the rotating blade (110) is inserted into the inside of the burner tube (120), the first hollow (115) of the rotating blade (110) is positioned inside the second hollow (125) of the burner tube (120) in a planar view, and since the expansion nozzle (130) is configured to extend outward from one side of the burner tube (120), the outer circumference of the expansion nozzle (130) is configured to surround the second hollow (125) in a planar view.
[0099] Referring to FIG. 2a, as the first hollow (115) is composed of a single hole, the first hollow (115) and the second hollow (125) form a concentric structure.
[0100] When the first hollow (115) is composed of a single hole, a large amount of the first raw material can be injected through the first hollow (115), and mass synthesis of nanopowder can be made possible.
[0101] Meanwhile, a rotating blade (123) is disposed within the space between the first hollow (115) and the second hollow (125). Specifically, a blade body (111) is disposed within the second hollow (125), and a rotating blade (113) is disposed on the outer surface of the blade body (111) including the first hollow (115). In this case, a vortex may be generated in the space between the second hollow (125) and the rotating blade (113) depending on the rotation of the rotating blade (113).
[0102] As described above, the expansion nozzle (130) is positioned at the top of the burner tube (120) and is configured to expand outward from the central axis of the burner tube (120). Accordingly, the outer circumference of the expansion nozzle (130) in a planar shape surrounds the second hollow (125). The vortex formed by the rotation of the rotating blade (113) expands as it passes through the expansion nozzle (130), and a flame is generated from the central region of the expansion nozzle (130), allowing for the synthesis of nanopowder through a combustion reaction.
[0103] Referring to FIG. 2b, the burner (200) for synthesizing nanopowder may include a plurality of first hollows (215) disposed inside a rotating blade (110). In this case, raw materials other than the first raw material may be injected through the plurality of first hollows (215), thereby allowing for the production of a multi-component compound nanopowder.
[0104] In addition, raw materials can be dispersed and injected through multiple first hollows (215), thereby minimizing the problem of by-products from combustion reactions blocking the hollows.
[0105] Referring to FIG. 2c, a vortex generating pattern (235) may be further disposed on the inner surface of the expansion nozzle (130).
[0106] The vortex generation pattern (235) may be formed as a curved pattern, such as a semicircular pattern or a spiral pattern. The vortex generation pattern (235) may be an irregularity or curvature of a specific pattern formed on the inner surface of the expanded nozzle (130). When the vortex generation pattern (235) is formed on the inner surface of the expanded nozzle (130), the vortex of the mixed gas passing through the expanded nozzle (130) moves along the vortex generation pattern (235), and the vortex may be generated more actively, and the vortex of the mixed gas may be sustained even within the flame, thereby inducing a more active chemical reaction for nanopowder synthesis.
[0107] As described above, the burner (100) for synthesizing nanopowder according to the present invention comprises a rotating blade (110) and a burner tube (120) in which the rotating blade (110) is disposed. A vortex is generated inside the burner by the rotation of the rotating blade (110), and mixing of raw materials is induced by the vortex. Accordingly, due to the uniform mixing of raw materials, a uniform reaction can be induced, and the synthesis of nanopowder can be promoted, thereby enabling the synthesis of high-quality nanopowder.
[0108] In addition, the burner (100) for synthesizing nanopowder according to the present invention is connected to one side of the burner tube (120) and includes an expansion nozzle (130) configured such that the cross-sectional area gradually expands outward from one side connected to the one side of the burner tube (120) to the other side. Therefore, the vortex created by the rotating blade (110) can be enlarged through the expansion nozzle (130), and the vortex can be stably maintained even within the flame, and the synthesis of nanopowder can be further promoted, so that high-quality nanopowder can be stably synthesized.
[0109] In particular, when combustion gas is supplied to the outside of the expansion nozzle (130), the flow velocity and flow rate of the combustion gas can be controlled by controlling the tilted angle of the expansion nozzle (130), and as the flow velocity and flow rate of the combustion gas are controlled, the flame generation area can be controlled. Accordingly, the flame is stably maintained in the central part of the expansion nozzle (130) of the burner (100) for nano powder synthesis, side reactions or incomplete reactions caused by non-uniformity of the flame can be minimized, and stable synthesis of the nano powder can be sustained.
[0110] In order to explain in more detail the advantages of inducing a uniform reaction and stabilizing the flame by the burner (100) for nanopowder synthesis of the present invention, a nanopowder synthesis apparatus will be described with reference to FIG. 3.
[0111] FIG. 3 is a partial cross-sectional view of a nanopowder synthesis apparatus according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0112] Referring to FIG. 3, the nano powder synthesis apparatus (300) of the present invention is an apparatus comprising the nano powder synthesis burner (100) of the present invention described with reference to FIG. 1 to 2c, and is an apparatus that finally synthesizes nano powder using a flame induced through the nano powder synthesis burner (100). Hereinafter, in describing the nano powder synthesis apparatus (300), FIG. 1 to 2c will be referenced together.
[0113] The nano powder synthesis apparatus (300) of the present invention includes a chamber (360), a burner (100) for nano powder synthesis, and raw material supply nozzles (140, 150).
[0114] The nano powder synthesis burner (100) is a device that mixes the first raw material and the second raw material and generates a flame for nano powder synthesis. Since it is substantially the same as the nano powder synthesis burner described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 2a, a detailed description thereof will be omitted.
[0115] The nano powder synthesis burner (100) can be arranged vertically or horizontally within the chamber (360). Specifically, when the nano powder synthesis burner (100) is arranged vertically within the chamber (360), the chamber (360) may be formed to extend in the longitudinal direction from the bottom to the top, and the burner tube (120) may be arranged in the lower part of the chamber (360). In this case, the nano powder synthesis device (300) may be configured as a long tower shape, making it suitable for synthesizing nano powder in a narrow space. Meanwhile, when the nano powder synthesis burner (100) is arranged horizontally within the chamber (360), the chamber (360) extends from one side to the other, and the burner tube (120) may be arranged horizontally on one side or the other side of the chamber (360). In this case, the nano powder synthesis device (300) may occupy more space than a tower type, but the problem of the nano powder synthesized in the chamber (360) falling into the burner tube (120) by gravity and clogging the first hollow (115) or the second hollow (125) can be minimized.
[0116] FIG. 3 illustrates a nanopowder synthesis device (300) in which a burner (100) for synthesizing nanopowder is arranged vertically, and the following description focuses on the case where the burner (100) for synthesizing nanopowder is arranged vertically. However, the present invention is not limited to a vertical device, and the nanopowder synthesis device (300) may be configured horizontally.
[0117] The chamber (360) accommodates a burner (100) for nanopowder synthesis and provides a physical space for nanopowder synthesis.
[0118] The chamber (360) may have the shape of a cylinder, a prism, or a polyhedron. Since the chamber (360) houses a burner (100) for nanopowder synthesis inside and provides a space where a combustion reaction can occur, the length and width of the chamber (360) may be greater than the length and width of the burner (100) for nanopowder synthesis.
[0119] The chamber (360) may be structured to be connected to the nanopowder synthesis burner (100) as a separate component. For example, although not shown in FIG. 3, the nanopowder synthesis burner (100) may be fixed to the lower surface of the chamber (360) through a bracket provided on the lower surface inside the chamber (360). However, it is not limited thereto, and the chamber (360) may be formed as a single body with the burner tube (120) of the nanopowder synthesis burner (100).
[0120] Meanwhile, the expansion nozzle (130) of the nanopowder synthesis burner (100) within the chamber (360) may be positioned so as to be spaced apart from the inner wall of the chamber (360) by a predetermined distance. Specifically, the inner wall of the chamber (360) may be positioned so as to be spaced apart from the open side of the expansion nozzle (130) in the longitudinal and transverse directions by a predetermined distance. The predetermined distance may provide a physical space sufficient for a sufficient amount of combustion gas to pass through.
[0121] The predetermined separation distance is an application of the Venturi effect, and can be configured to control the separation distance between the chamber (360) and the nanopowder synthesis burner (100) so that combustion gas can pass through the narrow gap quickly. In particular, as the distance between the open surface of the expansion nozzle (130) and the chamber (360) gradually narrows, the combustion gas injected from the combustion gas supply nozzle (370) can pass through the narrow gap at a high flow rate.
[0122] If the chamber (360) is not integrated with the nanopowder synthesis burner (100), it may be made of a metal or ceramic material with higher chemical resistance and corrosion resistance than the nanopowder synthesis burner (100).
[0123] The combustion gas supply nozzle (370) can be configured to inject combustion gas into the chamber (360).
[0124] Here, the combustion gas is a raw material capable of combustion reactions, such as methane gas, to form a flame.
[0125] The combustion gas supply nozzle (370) is a nozzle for injecting gaseous combustion gas and can be configured in the form of a valve that discharges gaseous raw materials. For example, it can be configured in a straight shape, radial shape, circular shape, hollow circular shape, etc.
[0126] The combustion gas supply nozzle (370) may be positioned at a predetermined distance from the exterior of the nano powder synthesis burner (100). In particular, one combustion gas supply nozzle (370) may be positioned on the left and one on the right side relative to the nano powder synthesis burner (100). In this case, the problem of the combustion gas being supplied only to one side of the nano powder synthesis burner (100) can be minimized. In some embodiments, the combustion gas supply nozzle (370) may be positioned in an annular shape to surround the nano powder synthesis burner (100).
[0127] In some embodiments, the nanopowder synthesis device (300) may further include an ignition device (380).
[0128] The ignition device (380) is configured to ignite the gas mixed with the combustion gas with a flame.
[0129] The ignition device (380) can be made of a ceramic material that has excellent insulation properties and high purity.
[0130] The ignition device (380) can accurately control the ignition timing. For example, the ignition device (380) can generate a flame in time with the injection timing of the raw material. In this case, sparks that may occur in the ignition device (380) can be minimized, and the stability of the nanopowder synthesis device (300) can be improved.
[0131] The ignition device (380) can also be attached to the uppermost part of the expansion nozzle (130) in the nanopowder synthesis burner (100). The flame generated from the ignition device (380) contributes to spreading the flame, thereby further promoting the combustion reaction of the mixed gas.
[0132] As described above, the nano powder synthesis apparatus (300) includes a chamber (360), a burner (100) for nano powder synthesis disposed inside the chamber (360), and raw material and combustion gas supply nozzles (140, 150, 370). In particular, the nano powder synthesis apparatus (300) of the present invention is configured such that the first raw material supply nozzle (140) supplies a first raw material to a first hollow (115), the second raw material supply nozzle (150) supplies a second raw material to a second hollow (125), and the combustion gas supply nozzle (370) supplies combustion gas to the chamber. Accordingly, the first raw material, the second raw material, and the combustion gas can be supplied separately in a spatially separated manner. In particular, the burner (100) for nanopowder synthesis of the present invention is characterized by including a rotating blade (110) inserted inside the burner tube, and a vortex is formed inside the burner tube (120) through the rotation of the rotating blade (110). In this case, the first raw material injected through the first hollow (115) and the second raw material injected through the second hollow (125) are mixed through the vortex, and a uniform mixing of the first raw material and the second raw material is induced. Accordingly, a combustion reaction between the first raw material and the second raw material can be induced. In addition, the vortex formed inside the burner tube (120) passes through the expansion nozzle (130) and is discharged to the top of the burner (100) for nanopowder synthesis. Since the expansion nozzle (130) is characterized by being configured such that the cross-sectional area gradually expands outward from one side to the other, the vortex can be further amplified during the process of the vortex passing through the expansion nozzle (130). Subsequently, a combustion reaction occurs from the mixed gas discharged through the open side of the expansion nozzle (130), and a flame is generated. Meanwhile, due to the tilted angle of the expansion nozzle (130), the gap between the chamber (360) and the expansion nozzle (130) is gradually reduced, so the flow velocity and flow rate of the combustion gas injected through the combustion gas supply nozzle (370) can be changed by the Venturi effect. In this case, the combustion gas discharged into the gap between the chamber (360) and the expansion nozzle (130) forms a circulating airflow that rises along the inner wall of the chamber (360) and descends toward the flame, as indicated by the arrow in FIG. 3. Due to the circulating airflow of the combustion gas, the flame is continuously supplied with combustion gas and maintains a stable flame shape. Accordingly, a uniform reaction of the mixed gas is continuously induced, and high-quality nanopowder can be synthesized.
[0133] The high-quality nanopowder described above can be synthesized by the following method. Hereinafter, the method for synthesizing nanopowder will be described in detail with reference to FIG. 4.
[0134] Figure 4 is a flowchart illustrating a method for synthesizing nanopowder.
[0135] Since the nanopowder synthesis method of the present invention is performed using the nanopowder synthesis apparatus (300) shown in FIG. 3, FIG. 4 will be described by referring to FIG. 1 to FIG. 3 together.
[0136] Referring to FIG. 4, first, an injection step (S210) of injecting the first raw material and the second raw material is performed.
[0137] Referring to FIG. 3, the injection step (S210) is a step of providing raw materials for manufacturing mixed gas, and may be a step of injecting raw materials into a hollow. Specifically, a first raw material is injected through a first hollow (115) provided within a rotating blade (110), and a second raw material is injected through a second hollow (125) provided within a burner tube (120).
[0138] The raw material can be injected in various ways depending on the type (mass) of the raw material, the state of matter (e.g., solid, liquid, gaseous), and the location or shape of the hollow.
[0139] The first raw material is a precursor material for producing nanopowder, and may include various elements such as metals depending on the constituent elements of the nanopowder to be produced.
[0140] The first raw material can be in gaseous, liquid, or solid form.
[0141] Referring to FIG. 3, it may be preferable that the first raw material be sprayed so as not to come into contact with the inner surface of the rotating blade (110). For example, it may be injected parallel to the inner surface of the rotating blade (110) in the first hollow (115).
[0142] The second raw material is a material that is synthesized into a nanopowder by chemically reacting with the first raw material, and may be a raw material including additive elements, a catalyst, a reaction gas, etc. Specifically, the additive element is an element added to improve the electrical, optical, magnetic, mechanical, and thermal properties of the nanopowder, and may include elements such as Al (aluminum), Ga (gallium), In (indium), Nb (niobium), Ta (tantalum), Sb (antimony), Ti (titanium), W (tungsten), Fe (iron), Co (cobalt), Ni (nickel), Mo (molybdenum), V (vanadium), Mn (manganese), Zr (zirconium), Y (yttrium), Ce (cerium), and La (lanthanum). The catalyst is a raw material for promoting the chemical reaction between the first raw material and the second raw material, and may be Pt (platinum), Pd (palladium), Au (gold), Ag (silver), Rh (rhodium), etc. The reaction gas may be a raw material for forming nanopowder by chemically reacting with the first raw material, and may be a gaseous raw material such as an oxidizing gas, a nitriding gas, or a sulfide gas.
[0143] The second raw material may be in a gaseous, liquid, or solid state and may contain one or more of the elements described above. Preferably, the second raw material may be a gaseous raw material.
[0144] Referring to FIG. 3, when the second raw material is injected through the second hollow (125), it is sprayed toward the rotating blade (110), so that the second raw material is injected toward the rotating blade (113) of the rotating blade (110).
[0145] Meanwhile, a flame formation step may be performed prior to the injection step (S210).
[0146] Specifically, before the first raw material and the second raw material are injected, a combustion gas is injected through the combustion gas supply nozzle (370) and can cause a combustion reaction to form a flame.
[0147] Here, combustion gas refers to the gas used as fuel to cause a combustion reaction.
[0148] For example, combustion gases are substances that burn themselves, such as H2 (hydrogen), CH4 (methane), CO (carbon monoxide), C2H6 (ethane), NH3 (ammonia), and C4H 10 It can be composed of flammable gases such as (butane).
[0149] In this case, by using an ignition device (380) placed in the expansion nozzle (130) of the burner tube (110) to induce a combustion reaction, a flame may be generated on the inner surface of the expansion nozzle (130) of the burner tube (120).
[0150] The first raw material and the second raw material can be injected through the first hollow (115) and the second hollow (125), respectively, after forming a flame through the flame forming step.
[0151] Referring again to FIG. 4, thereafter, a mixed gas generation step (S220) is performed to generate a mixed gas by rotating the rotating blade (110) so that the raw materials (first raw material and second raw material) are mixed.
[0152] Specifically, the first raw material moves along the circumferential surface of the first hollow (115) and is discharged into the burner tube (120), and can spread toward the open side of the burner tube (120). The second raw material can spread toward the open side of the burner tube (120) by riding the vortex formed by the rotating blade (110).
[0153] Meanwhile, the mixed gas generation step (S220) may further include a step of adjusting the rotation speed of the rotating blade (110) so that the first raw material and the second raw material are mixed.
[0154] As shown in FIG. 3, the rotating blade (110) can form a vortex inside the burner tube (120) through rotational movement.
[0155] As described above, the rotating blade (110) has the characteristic that the rotating blade (113) is positioned at an angle of 45 to 75 degrees relative to the rotation axis of the rotating blade (110), so that the first raw material and the second raw material can form a vortex to collide (inelastically). In addition, due to the above-described characteristic of the rotating blade (113), the vortex can move toward the open side of the burner tube (120).
[0156] In this case, the degree of collision between the first raw material and the second raw material and the vortex flow velocity can be controlled according to the rotational speed of the rotating blade (110). For example, if the first raw material and the second raw material have heavy mass characteristics, a relatively strong vortex can be induced by increasing the speed of the rotating blade (110). In addition, if the first raw material and the particles constituting the first raw material have light mass characteristics, a relatively weak vortex can be induced by controlling the speed of the rotating blade (110) to be slow.
[0157] Referring again to FIG. 4, a mixed gas is connected to one side of the burner tube (120) and is injected through an expansion nozzle (130) configured such that the cross-sectional area gradually expands outward from one side connected to the one side to the other side to form a flame, and a synthesis step (S230) is performed to synthesize nanopowder through the flame. The synthesis step (S230) may mean a step of spreading the mixed gas distributed on the open side of the burner tube (120) along the inner side of the expansion nozzle (130).
[0158] Specifically, first, the mixed gas is discharged from one open side of the expansion nozzle (130) to the other open side. The discharge of the mixed gas can be naturally generated by the vortex created by the rotating blade (110). In some embodiments, to further facilitate the discharge of the mixed gas, an inert gas capable of generating a flow of the mixed gas into the burner tube (120) may be additionally supplied. Meanwhile, if a vortex generation pattern (235) is present in the expansion nozzle (130), the mixed gas moves along the vortex generation pattern (235), and the vortex can be further amplified.
[0159] Afterwards, a combustion reaction is induced in the mixed gas discharged through the expanded nozzle (130).
[0160] Specifically, the first raw material and the second raw material may collide within a vortex, and a combustion reaction may occur during the collision process between the two raw materials, thereby inducing a chemical reaction between them. Meanwhile, to promote the combustion reaction by the first raw material and the second raw material, the chamber (360) may be maintained in a high-temperature atmosphere of 500°C or higher. Meanwhile, to promote the combustion reaction with the first raw material and the second raw material, an ignition device (380) may be further arranged as described above.
[0161] Meanwhile, in the synthesis step (S230), the flow rate or velocity of the combustion gas injected into the outside of the burner tube (120) along the length of the burner tube (120) can be controlled to control the flame generation area.
[0162] Specifically, when combustion gas is injected into the chamber by the combustion gas supply nozzle (370), the combustion gas diffuses along the length of the burner tube (120) and can be diffused by the inclined surface of the expansion nozzle (130). In this case, the distance between the burner (100) for nanopowder synthesis and the chamber (360) causes a Venturi effect. Referring to FIG. 3, the combustion gas injected from the combustion gas supply nozzle (370) diffuses along the length of the burner tube (120). At this time, as the distance between the chamber and the expansion nozzle (130) gradually narrows due to the inclined surface of the expansion nozzle (130), the width of the passage through which the combustion gas is injected becomes narrower. Due to the pressure difference between the wide passage (the space between the burner tube (120) and the chamber (360)) and the narrow passage (the space between the expansion nozzle (130) and the chamber (360)), the combustion gas can pass through the narrow passage quickly. If the flow rate of the combustion gas is high, the injection speed of the combustion gas increases, so the flame can be controlled to be long in the longitudinal direction. Meanwhile, if the flow rate of the combustion gas is high, the flame is formed relatively large, so the flame can be controlled to be wide in the width direction.
[0163] The burner (100) for synthesizing nanopowder according to the present invention comprises a rotating blade (110), a burner tube (120) in which the rotating blade (110) is disposed, and an expanding nozzle (130) connected to one side of the burner tube (120) and configured such that the cross-sectional area gradually expands outward from one side connected to the one side of the burner tube (120) to the other side. As a result, a vortex is formed through the rotational movement of the rotating blade (110), and since the raw material diffuses along the vortex, it can provide an effect of guiding it toward a flame generation area. Furthermore, the rotating blade (110) has a structure including a first hollow, and the burner tube (120) has a structure including a second hollow (115). As a result, the first raw material is supplied through the first hollow (115) and the second raw material is supplied through the second hollow (125), so as they are supplied separated from each other, the area where combustion reactions can occur between them can be controlled, and the second raw material is sprayed toward the rotating blade and spreads along the vortex formed by the rotational movement of the rotating blade, thereby providing the effect of being evenly mixed with the first raw material passing through the first hollow (115).
[0164] In addition, the nano powder synthesis apparatus (300) of the present invention includes a chamber (360), a burner (100) for nano powder synthesis disposed inside the chamber (360), and a raw material and combustion gas supply nozzle (140, 150, 370) for injecting raw materials and combustion gas. As previously mentioned, a mixed gas is formed by a vortex through the rotation of a rotating blade (110) disposed inside the burner (100) for nano powder synthesis, and a combustion reaction of the raw material can be provided in a chain reaction within the mixed gas. In addition, as the vortex is discharged through an expansion nozzle (130) having the characteristic of the cross-sectional area gradually expanding outward from one side connected to one side of the burner tube (120) to the other side, a chemical reaction can be promoted within the flame obtained during the flame formation stage. Meanwhile, as the expansion nozzle (130) gradually expands from one open side to the other, the gap between the inner wall of the chamber (360) and the expansion nozzle (130) gradually decreases. Therefore, the combustion gas discharged through the gap is circulated by the Venturi effect, and can provide the effect of stabilizing the flame.
[0165] A nanopowder synthesis method according to another embodiment of the present invention includes a mixed gas generation step (S220) for controlling the rotational speed of a rotating blade (110) so that the first raw material and the second raw material are mixed. Regardless of the mass of the raw material injected, a vortex with appropriate strength is formed, and as a result, reaction heat is generated through a series of (inelastic) collisions, thereby allowing the vortex to be controlled and the degree of combustion reaction to be controlled.
[0166] In addition, a nanopowder synthesis method according to another embodiment of the present invention may further include a synthesis step (S230) for controlling the flow rate or velocity of combustion gas injected into the outside of the burner tube in the longitudinal direction of the burner tube to control the flame generation area formed in the flame formation step. In this case, the length and width of the flame, etc., can be controlled by increasing or decreasing the injection speed and amount of combustion gas, thereby providing high-quality nanopowder synthesis.
