Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a smart cutting fluid purifier, and more specifically, to a smart cutting fluid purifier comprising a specific gravity separation unit capable of continuous purification processing. Background Technology
[0002] Cutting fluid is a critical fluid used in metalworking processes to reduce friction between the tool and the workpiece, dissipate heat, and facilitate chip removal. However, cutting fluid used for extended periods becomes contaminated with contaminants such as metal chips, fine particles, oil components, and bacteria generated during the process, leading to degraded cutting performance and adversely affecting machining precision. Consequently, the purification process of cutting fluid is an essential management requirement in the metalworking industry.
[0003] Conventionally, manual filtering devices, static sedimentation tanks, or centrifugal separators are commonly used to purify used cutting fluids. However, these methods have disadvantages, such as poor space efficiency due to the large scale of the equipment and the significant installation footprint, as well as complex processes or cumbersome operation. In particular, they face limitations in being difficult to apply in small workshops or confined spaces.
[0004] The static sedimentation method separates oil and impurities based on differences in specific gravity by leaving cutting fluid to stand for a certain period; however, this process is time-consuming and the sedimentation efficiency is inconsistent. Separation performance fluctuates depending on the size and density of mixed particles and the viscosity of the cutting fluid, leading to difficulties in ensuring quality.
[0005] While devices using the centrifugal separation method offer excellent performance by separating impurities from cutting fluid through high-speed rotation, they present practical drawbacks such as complex mechanical structures, vibration and noise generation, and difficult maintenance. Additionally, the high cost of the equipment may make its adoption burdensome for small and medium-sized machining sites.
[0006] Some devices utilize cartridge filters or activated carbon filters to remove fine particles or contaminants; however, these filters require replacement after a certain period of use, and they easily clog if excessive foreign matter enters. Consequently, there are disadvantages such as the difficulty of continuous operation and the ongoing cost of filter maintenance.
[0007] Most conventional cutting fluid purification devices have a limited single-operation capacity, which limits their ability to process cutting fluids exceeding a certain volume simultaneously. This structure is unsuitable for application in mass processing operations and entails practical constraints, such as the difficulty of integrating with continuous production lines. Furthermore, labor intensity increases because operators must manually set the purification cycle or perform repetitive tasks such as injecting cutting fluid each time.
[0008] Furthermore, a significant portion of conventional technologies completely lack user-friendly interfaces or smart control functions, making it impossible to check operating status in real time or manage them in conjunction with mobile devices. This results in low operational efficiency and the possibility of malfunctions caused by unskilled personnel.
[0009] If oil and cutting fluid are not effectively separated within the purification device, oil is re-mixed into the cutting fluid, leading to the repeated accumulation of contamination. In particular, when oil and cutting fluid are discharged simultaneously through the upper outlet, situations frequently arise where the very purpose of purification becomes meaningless. This is analyzed to be caused by the absence of a fluid flow control structure or inadequate design within the purification device.
[0010] Some devices utilize simple partitions or screens for their internal separation structures and feature a fixed design that makes it impossible to adjust the direction or spacing of the separation membranes, making it difficult to adapt to the characteristics of various cutting fluids. Although separation conditions must vary depending on the viscosity, temperature, and type of contaminants of the cutting fluid, conventional structures provide only uniform separation performance, resulting in reduced purification efficiency.
[0011] Above all, conventional technology faces difficulties in continuous purification processes, resulting in a repetitive cycle structure where a certain amount of cutting fluid is injected, purified, discharged, and then fresh fluid is injected. This not only reduces time efficiency and productivity but also contributes to the inconvenience of continuously monitoring equipment and increases operator fatigue.
[0012] The present invention aims to solve the problems of the conventional technology described above. The purpose of the present invention is to simultaneously secure purification efficiency and operational convenience by introducing a structure that enables continuous and efficient purification, optimizing the specific gravity separation structure, controlling precise oil discharge, controlling the cutting fluid separation flow, and providing a smart operating environment. [0025] Referring to these drawings, the smart cutting fluid purifier (100) according to the present embodiment is equipped with a main body housing part (110) of a specific structure, a specific gravity separation part (120), an oil separation discharge part (130), and a cutting fluid separation discharge part (140), thereby enabling continuous purification processing and providing a convenient UI environment for the operator. This overcomes the limitation that the capacity to be fed into the cutting fluid purification processing container in one cycle is limited, allowing for the continuous purification of a large amount of cutting fluid. Since a large amount of cutting fluid can be purified very efficiently, it is manufactured in a compact size and can be customized for installation site environments even in confined spaces. Consequently, it can solve many problems of the cutting fluid purification device according to the prior art at once.
[0026] Hereinafter, with reference to FIGS. 1 to 7, each component constituting the smart cutting fluid purifier (100) according to the present embodiment will be described in detail.
[0027] Specific configuration and structure of the main body housing part (110)
[0028] The main body housing (110) is a structural body that forms the overall framework of the smart cutting fluid purifier and forms a storage space where the cutting fluid is introduced, separated, and discharged. The upper part is formed with an open structure, and an opening is provided so that the cutting fluid to be purified can be injected from the outside. The storage space is internally divided into a side space, a central space, and a side space, and each space is designed to organically share the fluid flow and purification process.
[0029] Since the material of the main body housing (110) must ensure corrosion resistance and durability, it is appropriate to use industrial stainless steel (SUS304 grade or higher) or a polymer synthetic resin with excellent chemical resistance (PP, PVDF, etc.). This is to prevent material damage caused by contaminants, metal ions, oil, etc. in the cutting fluid and to enable stable operation for a long period of time. The housing is configured so that the inner surface is processed smoothly to facilitate cleaning and maintenance.
[0030] In the main body housing (110), an inlet for introducing cutting fluid and an outlet for discharging refined cutting fluid and oil are separately formed, and a specific gravity separation unit (120), an oil separation discharge unit (130), and a cutting fluid separation discharge unit (140), which are purification structures, are installed inside. Since these parts must operate without mechanical interference within the main body housing (110), appropriate spatial arrangement and an interference prevention structure must be secured.
[0031] The main body housing (110) controls fluid flow by installing partition walls between each of the spaces, and through this structure, it is possible to prevent oil from flowing back or mixing into one side or the other side space. In particular, the internal space arrangement is arranged vertically according to the direction of gravity so that natural separation based on specific gravity can occur, and the flow path is formed sequentially from the bottom to the top or in the lateral direction.
[0032] As an example of actual application, the main body housing (110) can be designed to be directly connected to a cutting fluid tank at a metal processing site or an oil tray of a CNC machine. Additionally, it can be integrated into an automatic inflow or outflow system through a pipeline by linking with a circulation system within the factory, thereby allowing it to be utilized to replace or supplement existing equipment.
[0033] Receiving space barrier wall (111)
[0034] The receiving space barrier wall (111) is a vertical wall structure formed inside the main body housing part (110), particularly between the side space and the central space. This structure separates the cutting fluid inlet section and the central space where the purification process takes place, thereby guiding the incoming contaminated cutting fluid to flow directly into the purification structure. The upper and central sections are completely sealed, and an open flow path is formed in the lower section to allow fluid movement.
[0035] The main function of the receiving space barrier (111) is to prevent oil or bubbles from flowing back from the inlet space to the central space. The oil separated in the specific gravity separation unit (120) is located in the central upper space of the main body housing unit (110). Since the purification efficiency drops sharply if this oil flows back into the side space, the airtightness of the receiving space barrier (111) is very important.
[0036] Structurally, the containment space barrier wall (111) may be formed integrally with the inner wall of the main body housing part (110) or assembled as a modular insert structure. This structure may be designed to be detachable depending on the site conditions, and has the advantage of allowing access by separating a part of the barrier wall during maintenance or internal cleaning.
[0037] The lower open channel forms a passage of a certain height, allowing cutting fluid to flow smoothly along the bottom surface of one side space and enter the central space. This channel is linked with the receiving pipe (112) to control the inflow position of the cutting fluid, and may include an inclined structure or a flow velocity buffering structure to minimize flow shock.
[0038] As an example of application, a purifier equipped with a receiving space barrier (111) is suitable for sequentially processing a large amount of cutting fluid in a metal processing line, and can maintain stable purification by effectively separating oil or air bubbles mixed in upon inflow. In addition, the receiving space barrier (111) can be very usefully utilized to control the flow of fluid even in environments where the cutting fluid inflow pressure is not constant.
[0039] Receiver pipe (112)
[0040] The receiving pipe (112) is a tubular inlet means for introducing cutting fluid to be purified from the outside into one side space of the main body housing (110). In the present invention, the receiving pipe (112) is formed in an inverted U-shape, so that the incoming cutting fluid is guided to flow smoothly to the bottom surface of one side space by gravity. This structure has the advantage of controlling the falling speed of the cutting fluid to prevent the formation of bubbles or splashing inside.
[0041] The receiving pipe (112) acts as a structure to prevent the formation of bubbles, the mixing of gas, or the splashing of fine particles caused by excessive impact when cutting fluid flows in, thereby preventing equipment contamination or flow obstruction. Since cutting fluid is essentially a viscous liquid, a gentle downward inflow to the bottom surface provides a more stable flow than a horizontal or inclined inflow.
[0042] The end of the pipe of the receiving pipe (112) is positioned close to the bottom surface of one side of the main body housing part (110) and forms a path so that the cutting fluid flows along the bottom surface. This design helps to prevent the cutting fluid from splashing onto the wall or interior, reduces impact noise when flowing in, and prevents contamination of the inside of the housing. The diameter of the pipe is set considering the flow rate and viscosity, and a screen or mesh cover may be installed to prevent the entry of foreign substances.
[0043] The receiving pipe (112) can be configured to be separable so that internal cleaning is possible, and cleaning ports or drain ports are provided at regular intervals so that continuous operation is possible without the accumulation of foreign matter even during long-term use. The inside of the pipe is treated to prevent corrosion, so that it is designed not to be damaged by metal chips or chemicals over the long term. In addition, a pressure reducing valve or a backflow prevention valve may be configured to be linked when the pressure of the cutting fluid exceeds a certain level.
[0044] In actual industrial settings, the receiving pipe (112) is applied to a line that receives cutting fluid pumped from a cutting fluid tank through a pump into the main body, or naturally receives cutting fluid discharged by gravity. In particular, in a line where the purification process is automated, the flow rate of the receiving pipe (112) is controlled in real time and linked with a PLC control system to prevent over-injection or interference with the flow.
[0045] Discharge space barrier wall (113)
[0046] The discharge space barrier wall (113) is a vertical partition wall installed between the central space and the other space inside the main body housing part (110), and is configured to form a separation boundary so that oil does not penetrate into the other space and only cutting fluid can flow into the other space through the lower flow path. This structure acts as a key element for maximizing purification efficiency by preventing the mixing of cutting fluid and oil.
[0047] The discharge space barrier wall (113) can be formed integrally with the inner wall of the main body housing part (110) or installed by inserting it as an assembly module. At this time, the barrier wall completely blocks the upper and central parts, and an open flow path is formed only at the bottom so that cutting fluid can flow, thereby accurately controlling the fluid flow. This structure induces the cutting fluid passing through the specific gravity separation part (120) to flow naturally to the bottom, while the oil accumulates at the top and is separated through the oil separation discharge part (130).
[0048] The height, thickness, and shape of the discharge space barrier wall (113) are optimized by considering the resistance to fluid flow and the flow path. Generally, the cross-sectional area and location of the lower flow path are determined by considering the viscosity, specific gravity, and inflow rate of the cutting fluid, and the flow path at the bottom of the barrier wall must be designed smoothly without sharp curves to prevent stagnation. If necessary, a flow buffer structure or a mesh for chip collection may be added.
[0049] The barrier wall is selected from materials resistant to corrosion and heat, and can be implemented with a detachable or openable structure to facilitate internal maintenance. In particular, when regular maintenance or cleaning is required, accessibility and cleanliness can be ensured simultaneously by configuring a structure that allows a portion of the barrier wall to be opened or closed, or by installing a separate inspection hatch.
[0050] When the discharge space barrier (113) is applied to equipment that purifies large volumes of cutting fluid on-site, it plays an important role in preventing backflow of oil and maintaining consistent cutting fluid quality. In particular, in environments where a multi-stage purification process is performed continuously, the role of the barrier is further emphasized, and it is utilized as a core structure capable of simultaneously performing flow control and contamination prevention functions.
[0051] Specific configuration and structure of the specific gravity separation unit (120)
[0052] The specific gravity separation unit (120) is a structure that separates cutting fluid and oil using the difference in specific gravity between them, and is an element responsible for the core purification function of the smart cutting fluid purifier. This structure is located in the central space of the main body housing unit (110) and induces natural gravity separation of cutting fluid and oil through a plurality of separation membranes (122) spaced vertically apart. Each fluid flows in the vertical direction according to its specific gravity, enabling high-efficiency separation without a separate energy source.
[0053] The specific gravity separation unit (120) is composed of a plurality of vertical spacing bars (121) and a plurality of separation membranes (122). As the fluid passes through the separation membranes aligned at regular intervals in the vertical direction, fine particles or an oil layer rise to the top. This multi-layer separation structure provides higher purification efficiency than a simple sedimentation method and enables separation operations while maintaining a continuous flow.
[0054] A plurality of grooves are formed in the separation membrane (122) of the specific gravity separation unit (120) in a horizontally continuous manner to regulate fluid flow and provide a path for oil to flow upward. Each groove contains a fine through hole through which oil can pass, thereby inducing the upper layer of oil to be naturally discharged upward. Since cutting fluid is relatively heavy, it moves along the lower flow path to the bottom of the central space.
[0055] The specific gravity separation unit (120) is a manual purification system that operates without mechanical operation, but since the separation efficiency depends on the spacing, quantity, and location of the separation membrane, various environmental factors must be considered in the design. In particular, since the viscosity, flow rate, and temperature of the cutting fluid affect the purification performance, it is important to secure an appropriate structural arrangement through numerical simulation or field testing.
[0056] The specific gravity separation unit (120) can be customized according to the industrial site, and in the case of large equipment, the number of vertical separation layers can be increased to improve performance, while in small equipment, it can be implemented with a simple structure and utilized as a compact purification unit. In addition, purification performance can be improved by applying different surface materials or treatment methods (hydrophilic, hydrophobic, etc.) of the separation membrane depending on the type of oil and cutting fluid.
[0057] Vertical spacing bar (121)
[0058] The vertical spacing bar (121) is a structural support element constituting the specific gravity separation unit (120) and serves as a column that fixes a plurality of separation membranes (122) by spacing them vertically at a certain distance. This configuration ensures that the separation membranes (122) are aligned at uniform intervals and guides the fluid to pass through the separation membranes with a stable flow. The vertical spacing bar is an essential element for maintaining the integrity and rigidity of the specific gravity separation unit.
[0059] The vertical spacing bar (121) extends vertically from the bottom surface inside the housing to the top and supports the separator (122) in multiple stages. Each separator is mounted on the vertical spacing bar and is designed to be detachable through a fixing pin or a sliding fastening structure. This allows the separator to be replaced or cleaned in bulk during maintenance and ensures structural flexibility.
[0060] The number of vertical spacing bars (121) is determined by the size of the equipment and the size of the membrane, and generally, two or four or more are symmetrically arranged to form a stable structure. These prevent sagging or deformation of the membrane and prevent the purification fluid from flowing unevenly. The cross-section of the bar can be designed in various ways, such as circular, square, or hexagonal, and a shape that minimizes flow resistance is preferred.
[0061] The material is mainly aluminum alloy, stainless steel, or high-strength plastic, which is resistant to corrosion and allows for a lightweight structure. A wear-resistant coating or rubber packing may be applied to the part that is joined to the separator (122), and a friction force control structure may be included to ensure that the connection between the separator and the vertical spacing bar is maintained firmly.
[0062] As an example of actual application, the vertical spacing bar (121) is connected to a handle (123) at the top so that the user can easily lift or mount the vertical spacing bar and the separator as a single bundle. This structure is very useful in field environments where irregular cleaning operations or filter repositioning are required, and allows for the simultaneous securing of purification efficiency and operational convenience.
[0063] Separator (122)
[0064] The separator (122) is a core fluid separation structure constituting the specific gravity separation unit (120) and performs the function of separating cutting fluid and oil vertically according to the difference in specific gravity. Each separator is arranged in a horizontal direction, and a plurality of separators are spaced apart at regular intervals along the vertical spacing bar (121) to form a multi-stage structure. Through this multi-stage structure, the fluid is purified sequentially, and the purification efficiency is maximized.
[0065] The most significant feature of the separator (122) is the multiple groove structures formed on its surface. These grooves are continuous in the horizontal direction and induce the fluid to naturally separate into layers as it flows along the grooves. Each groove has a trapezoidal shape and an inverted trapezoidal shape arranged alternately in the longitudinal section, thereby controlling the time the fluid stays in the grooves and the direction of flow. The groove structure is effective in reducing fluid disturbance and forming layered flow.
[0066] A number of small through holes are formed at the top of each separator (122). These through holes act as channels that allow oil rising above the separator to flow upward, while high-viscosity cutting fluid moves downward along the grooves. Through these structural features, specific gravity separation in a natural state can be induced very effectively. The size and spacing of the through holes can be adjusted according to fluid characteristics and have a significant effect on the oil rising speed and purification performance.
[0067] The separator (122) is generally plate-shaped and must have sufficient rigidity so that bending or sagging does not occur during long-term use. The material used is plastic, aluminum, or a highly corrosion-resistant alloy with excellent oil and chemical resistance, and the surface is coated with a slippery and non-stick material to prevent fluid stagnation or the attachment of contaminants. In particular, it is designed with a structure that allows for repeated cleaning, thereby increasing the efficiency of equipment maintenance.
[0068] As an example of actual application, the separator (122) induces a stable fluid flow even in an environment where the inflow rate of the cutting fluid is not constant, and even if foreign substances or metal particles are introduced together, they can be stagnated or dispersed through the groove structure. In addition, as the fluid passes through multiple layers sequentially while passing through the specific gravity separation section, it can exhibit complex separation performance and maintain high separation efficiency even in a high-load environment.
[0069] Handle (123)
[0070] The handle (123) is a user interface structure configured to integrate the vertical spacing bar (121) and the separator (122) of the specific gravity separation unit (120) into a single bundle so that they can be easily separated and mounted. It is located at the top of the central space inside the main body housing unit (110) and has a structure that allows the operator to directly grip it with their hand to lift the entire specific gravity separation structure or reposition it inside the housing.
[0071] The handle (123) is generally formed in an arched or straight structure and is designed with a curved or grooved structure so that the user's hand can naturally grip it. The outer shape protrudes from the upper opening of the housing and is firmly connected to the top of the vertical spacing bar (121) through a fastening part. The fastening can be implemented in various ways, such as bolt assembly, clip fastening, or a rotary fixing structure.
[0072] The core function of the handle (123) is to allow the entire specific gravity separation unit to be removed or reattached as a single bundle. This allows the user to remove the entire structure at once without having to disassemble individual membranes one by one when it is necessary to clean the inside of the equipment or replace the membranes. This is a design advantage designed to reduce maintenance time and increase maintenance efficiency.
[0073] Materials such as aluminum alloy, ABS reinforced plastic, or high-strength synthetic resin are used to maintain high strength while remaining lightweight, and the surface is finished with a matte texture or features micro-protrusions to prevent slipping and ensure user safety during operation. Additionally, ergonomic designs may be applied to minimize fatigue during prolonged use.
[0074] As an example of application, after the purification process is completed, the entire contaminated membrane can be separated via the handle (123), easily cleaned in a separate cleaning space, and a new membrane bundle can be installed. This structure can contribute to increasing production efficiency by reducing maintenance cycles and minimizing replacement time in work sites where multiple pieces of equipment are operated simultaneously.
[0075] Specific configuration and structure of the oil separation and discharge unit (130)
[0076] The oil separation discharge unit (130) is installed in the central upper space of the main body housing unit (110) and is a dedicated flow path structure for discharging oil separated through the specific gravity separation unit (120) to the outside. This configuration is formed as a pipe structure extending in the horizontal direction and includes a separation discharge pipe (132) inside for transporting oil to the outside. The separated oil is safely discharged along this structure to an external storage tank or recovery system.
[0077] The oil separation discharge unit (130) is designed so that oil floating in the central upper space due to specific gravity separation is efficiently collected and discharged to the outside without leakage. Since oil is relatively light and stagnates in the upper part, the oil separation discharge unit is located near the top of the housing, and it is important to set the discharge position according to the height of the oil's buoyancy. To this end, a function for adjusting the position and height of the through-hole may be included.
[0078] The separation discharge pipe (132) has horizontal slit-shaped penetration holes (131) symmetrically formed on both sides, and oil rising through these penetration holes flows into the pipe. The oil flowing in flows along the pipe and is transferred to an outlet connected to the outside or a storage tank. Discharge can be carried out by gravity-induced natural gravity flow or by pump pressure, and is selected according to site conditions.
[0079] The oil separation discharge unit (130) is mounted inside the main body housing through a rotating mounting member (133), allowing the height of the horizontal slit-shaped through hole (131) to be adjusted according to the rotational movement. This structure enables control of separation efficiency and allows for precise oil separation control by allowing the operator to adjust the water level according to the fluid state. Additionally, the rotating fixing device can be fixed at a specific angle, allowing the set separation conditions to be applied repeatedly.
[0080] As an example of actual application, the oil separation discharge unit (130) effectively separates oil even in processing environments where the amount of oil mixed in the cutting fluid is high, and exhibits high refining efficiency in industrial sites where the oil recovery rate is important (e.g., cooling oil recycling, lubricating oil recovery, etc.). In addition, in automated processes, unmanned operation can be enabled by attaching an electric valve that automatically opens and closes in conjunction with an oil level sensor.
[0081] Horizontal slit-shaped penetration hole (131)
[0082] The horizontal slit-shaped through hole (131) is a key opening structure constituting the oil separation discharge section (130) and is formed extending horizontally on both sides of the separation discharge pipe (132). This through hole serves to allow oil that has risen to the central upper space due to specific gravity separation to naturally flow into the pipe. The slit-shaped structure is characterized by a wider inflow area than a standard circular hole and a stable oil flow path.
[0083] The horizontal slit-shaped through hole (131) is formed parallel to the extension direction of the separate discharge pipe and guides oil to be sucked into the through hole according to the fluid flow in the central upper space. This structure can be controlled so that the oil is discharged only when it rises above a certain level, and serves as a reference point to prevent cutting fluid and oil from being discharged simultaneously. Only oil above the level reference line can be selectively discharged.
[0084] The length, width, and location of the penetration port may vary depending on equipment specifications and processing flow rates, and can be optimized using tools such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations to ensure inflow efficiency and discharge stability. Additionally, a fine mesh screen may be installed inside the penetration port to prevent the entry of foreign matter, and a thin flap or valve structure to regulate fluid flow may be attached.
[0085] The through hole can be implemented as a structure that allows height adjustment by linking with the rotating mounting member (133). As a result, the user can change the height of the through hole to match the oil buoyancy characteristics of the work site, thereby preventing the mixing of oil and cutting fluid and allowing for precise control of separation efficiency. In particular, it is possible to respond flexibly to environments where viscosity or temperature changes.
[0086] As a practical application example, the horizontal slit-shaped through hole (131) can reliably capture a large amount of oily spray generated during a high-temperature, high-speed cutting process and maintain an oil outflow path even with changes in discharge pressure. This structure is particularly useful in precision machining facilities where continuous oil separation is required, or in facilities where oil recovery is linked to environmental standards.
[0087] Separate discharge pipe (132)
[0088] The separation discharge pipe (132) is the main pipe structure of the oil separation discharge section (130) and serves as a passage for collecting oil that has been separated through the specific gravity separation section (120) and floated to the central upper space, and for discharging it to the outside. This pipe is installed extending horizontally in the central upper part of the main body housing section (110) and is configured in a straight pipe shape or a gentle curve shape to ensure the stability of the fluid flow.
[0089] The interior of the separation discharge pipe (132) is processed to have a smooth inner surface so that oil flowing in at a flow rate greater than a certain level can flow without frictional resistance, and is generally made of stainless steel or a polymer material (e.g., PTFE, HDPE, etc.) that has excellent oil resistance and corrosion resistance. The diameter of the pipe is designed considering the expected flow rate, viscosity, and inflow rate, and must be able to transport the fluid to an external storage tank without excessive pressure loss.
[0090] Horizontal slit-shaped through holes (131) are formed on both sides of the separation discharge pipe (132). Through these through holes, oil floating in the central upper space is naturally sucked into the pipe. The sucked oil flows along the pipe in the direction of outflow and is transferred through the discharge port to an external oil tank, a waste oil collection container, or a recovery pump line. This structure has a decisive influence on the discharge efficiency, which is the final stage of the purification process.
[0091] The separate discharge pipe (132) is supported in the main body housing through a rotating mounting member (133), and the user can change the height of the horizontal slit-shaped through hole (131) by adjusting the rotation angle of the pipe. This allows the optimal discharge position to be set according to the condition of the cutting fluid to be purified, the depth of oil buoyancy, viscosity, etc. This provides a flexible response method that is not possible with a fixed structure.
[0092] As an example of application, the separate discharge pipe (132) is useful in a processing line that processes cutting fluid containing a large amount of oil, and can maintain stable discharge performance even during continuous operation. In particular, if configured to operate in conjunction with automated equipment and a discharge flow rate sensor, flow meter, and electric valve, it is possible to build an unmanned operation or smart purification system.
[0093] Rotating mounting part (133)
[0094] The rotating mounting member (133) is a structure that rotatably supports the separation discharge pipe (132) on the side wall of the central upper space of the main body housing (110). This configuration allows the separation discharge pipe to rotate in place, thereby enabling adjustment of the height of the penetration hole or changing direction for maintenance. The rotational function has the advantage of allowing precise control of the fluid inflow position.
[0095] The rotary mounting member (133) is generally composed of a circular flange or an arc-shaped bracket structure and is connected between the pipe and the housing so as to be rotatable about an axis. The rotary axis may include a precision-machined metal pin or ball bearing, and may also have a built-in lubricant or silicone packing to reduce rotational resistance. This is important for maintaining durability during repeated rotational use.
[0096] The rotary mounting member (133) includes a fixing member that allows the user to fix the separation discharge pipe at a specific angle after rotating it to a certain angle. This fixing member can be implemented in the form of a ratchet structure, a locking lever, or a rotary stopper, and ensures that the angle once set does not change due to external vibrations or changes in flow rate. This allows the set purification conditions to be continuously maintained.
[0097] A ruler or scale indicator may be installed on the outside of the rotary mounting member (133) to adjust the height of the horizontal slit-shaped through hole (131). The user can repeatedly set the same height by referring to the scale, making it easier to manage refining conditions according to work standards. Some systems may also include a smart function that automatically adjusts the rotation angle in conjunction with an electric rotary motor.
[0098] In a practical application, the cutting fluid purification device can handle cutting fluids with various viscosities and contamination levels through the rotary mounting member (133), and can also respond quickly to environmental changes (such as increased temperature or increased oil concentration). Since the settings can be changed without disassembling the housing or replacing the piping whenever the purification conditions change, the convenience of maintenance and operational flexibility are greatly improved.
[0099] Specific configuration and structure of the cutting fluid separation and discharge unit (140)
[0100] The cutting fluid separation and discharge unit (140) is installed in the other side space of the main body housing unit (110) and provides a flow structure for selectively discharging only the cutting fluid purified through the specific gravity separation unit (120) to the outside. This configuration is intended to enable the separation and recovery of only the cutting fluid that is not mixed with oil by independently forming the discharge flow of the purified cutting fluid.
[0101] The cutting fluid separation discharge unit (140) is generally connected to a discharge port extending outside the housing, and a separation partition (141) is positioned at the top of the discharge port. The separation partition (141) serves to restrict the discharge of only the fluid that overflows above a certain level after the cutting fluid rises to a specific height within the other space. This prevents the phenomenon where oil floating on the upper surface is discharged over the partition.
[0102] The flow principle of the cutting fluid separation and discharge unit (140) is based on the 'overflow method when the positional level is exceeded,' which is a design that utilizes gravity so that the fluid can be discharged naturally without a pump. The cutting fluid is separated from the oil as it passes through the specific gravity separation unit, flows into the other side space along the lower flow path, and then only the amount exceeding the separation partition is discharged to the outside through the discharge port. This structure enables the stable recovery of only the refined cutting fluid.
[0103] The discharge port can be equipped with a flow control valve, filter mesh, or contamination detection sensor. This prevents the re-introduction of particles or impurities above a certain concentration and allows for real-time monitoring of the discharged cutting fluid quality. Additionally, the discharge direction can be applied in various ways, such as downward, sideways, or vertical upward piping, enabling flexible adaptation to installation sites.
[0104] As an example of actual application, the cutting fluid separation and discharge unit (140) is particularly useful in a production line that recovers and reuses a large amount of cutting fluid after a metal processing process. It can maintain a consistent quality of refined cutting fluid even under high-speed processing or high-temperature conditions, and provides the advantage of being able to resupply it directly to processing equipment without repeated refining.
[0105] Separating partition (141)
[0106] The separating partition (141) is a core component of the cutting fluid separation discharge unit (140) and is a structure installed in the other space to physically partition the flow path of the refined cutting fluid and oil. This partition is designed to extend vertically to a specific height so that the cutting fluid can be discharged over the partition only when the cutting fluid level in the other space rises above a certain level. The partition serves as a level reference line that controls the flow of fluid.
[0107] The upper height of the separation partition (141) must be formed to be lower than or equal to the position of the horizontal slit-shaped through hole (131), which is a design criterion to induce a sequential flow such that oil is separated first through the upper part and cutting fluid is discharged later from the lower part. The height and thickness of the partition are determined by considering the viscosity, flow rate, and mixing state of the fluid, and are generally formed as a fixed structure integrated with the inner wall of the main body or as a detachable block.
[0108] It is highly effective in preventing the mixing of oil and cutting fluid by restricting flow so that only fluid exceeding the top is discharged, without forming small gaps or discharge openings at the bottom of the baffle. The baffle can be regarded as a flow control device utilizing a natural flow method based on the potential energy of the cutting fluid, ensuring reliable fluid separation without the need for a separate power source or mechanical operation.
[0109] The material of the separation partition (141) is required to have corrosion resistance and oil resistance, just like the inner housing, and is generally made of polypropylene (PP), stainless steel (SUS), or reinforced plastic. In addition, the upper edge of the partition may be rounded or beveled so that the flow of cutting fluid can pass smoothly, which helps to reduce flow shock and prevent stagnation.
[0110] As a practical application, the separating partition (141) is very effectively utilized in industries such as aviation, precision parts processing, or semiconductor equipment parts processing, where the quality of cutting fluid purification is important. In these industries, if even a small amount of oil is mixed into the cutting fluid, it can cause a decrease in product quality or a reduction in tool life, so stable cutting fluid purification can be performed through the separating partition structure.
[0111] Detailed explanation of the configuration that can provide a convenient UI environment for the operator
[0112] Operation status monitoring unit (151)
[0113] The operating status monitoring unit (151) is an integrated control and display device that detects the operating status of the smart cutting fluid purifier in real time, provides information to the user, and controls the operation of each component by receiving external commands or user input. This configuration is installed on one side of the outer surface of the main body housing (110) and can receive user operation input through a touch interface or a smart device linkage interface.
[0114] The operating status monitoring unit (151) collects information such as the flow rate of cutting fluid, oil separation rate, internal water level, temperature, and purification time, analyzes it through an internal microcontroller (MCU) or PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), and outputs the information to a visualized display. On the user screen, the purification status, remaining time, warning notifications, etc., appear in the form of icons or numbers, allowing the user to intuitively check the operating status.
[0115] This monitoring unit incorporates a wireless communication module (Bluetooth or Wi-Fi) to connect with external devices such as smartphones and tablets, allowing users to remotely monitor the status of the purifier, change settings, or start and stop operations. Additionally, it records data such as operation history, cumulative usage time, and purification cycles, which can be utilized for future maintenance or quality control.
[0116] The operating status monitoring unit (151) is electrically connected to the main driving components of the purifier and is also signal-linked with the membrane gap changing unit (152) and the oil discharge height changing unit (153). By transmitting control signals to these modules, structural elements such as the membrane gap or the penetration height can be actively adjusted according to the fluid state or user settings. This implies a structure capable of real-time response according to flow characteristics, unlike a fixed device.
[0117] As an example of actual application, the operating status monitoring unit (151) can provide a notification when cutting fluid contamination exceeds a threshold through real-time status monitoring of the cutting fluid purification device linked to the high-speed processing machine, or act as a trigger to automatically start the purification cycle. Through this, the equipment can be operated autonomously without continuous monitoring by the user, and operational control optimized for a smart manufacturing environment becomes possible.
[0118] Separator spacing change part (152)
[0119] The membrane spacing changer (152) is a mechanically driven or electric control device capable of adjusting the spacing and height between a plurality of membranes (122) mounted on the specific gravity separation unit (120). This configuration is installed on a vertical spacing bar (121) and is designed to receive a control signal from an operation status monitoring unit (151) to dynamically change the arrangement structure of the membranes.
[0120] This device performs operations to raise or lower the position of the separator membrane in the vertical direction or to narrow or widen the gap through a motor drive system, a cam or lift gear system, or an electric actuator. In particular, since the optimal gap varies depending on purification conditions such as cutting fluid viscosity, oil buoyancy speed, and inflow speed, adjusting the structure to suit the situation has a significant impact on improving separation efficiency.
[0121] The membrane gap changing section (152) contributes to implementing an active purification system that can adapt to fluid conditions, moving away from a fixed structure. For example, in the case of cutting fluid with high contamination, the membrane gap can be narrowed to provide more separation stages, and in the case of relatively clean cutting fluid, the gap can be widened to reduce flow resistance. This method is also advantageous in terms of energy efficiency.
[0122] A position sensor or encoder is attached to the gap change section to receive real-time feedback on the current position information of the separator, and an automatic calibration function can also be implemented in conjunction with the operation status monitoring section (151). It includes a function to repeatedly move to a set height or return to the original position in case of emergency stop, providing an excellent design structure in terms of industrial safety.
[0123] As an example of actual application, the membrane gap changing unit (152) provides a structure capable of responding to various fluid characteristics with a single piece of equipment for cutting fluids generated in various metal processing environments, so that purification conditions can be immediately optimized according to site-specific fluid conditions without installing new equipment. This is a very practical feature for sites requiring customized purification solutions.
[0124] Oil discharge height change part (153)
[0125] The oil discharge height changing unit (153) is installed on the rotating mounting unit (133) and is structured to change the height of the horizontal slit-shaped through hole (131) by rotating the separation discharge pipe (132) of the oil separation discharge unit (130). This configuration is designed to actively control the height at which the oil begins to flow through the slit according to the state of the cutting fluid to be purified, the oil floating depth, viscosity, and concentration. In other words, it is a control means for setting the oil separation timing and the precise separation layer.
[0126] The driving method is generally controlled by a small electric motor or a servo motor, and the control circuit receives a signal in conjunction with the operating status monitoring unit (151). The rotation angle of the piping is adjusted based on a setting value entered by the user or values such as oil level, viscosity, and temperature measured by an internal sensor of the purifier, and accordingly, the height of the slit-shaped penetration port moves upward or downward. This prevents unnecessary oil mixing and increases purification efficiency.
[0127] The discharge height adjustment unit is equipped with a rotation angle sensor or encoder, allowing for real-time monitoring of the current slit position. Users can precisely set the slit position via a GUI or a smartphone app. The set height is stored in memory and can be automatically restored during each purification cycle, or corrected in real-time according to changes in the characteristics of the purification fluid. This is advantageous for maintaining consistent purification quality during repetitive processes.
[0128] This configuration is particularly useful when handling cutting fluids containing excessive oil or fluids with high viscosity. If the oil rising speed is slow or layer separation is unclear, and the slit is positioned too low, unseparated oil is discharged, and the quality of purification deteriorates. On the other hand, if the slit is positioned too high, the oil stagnates and remains in the housing without being discharged. The oil discharge height changing part (153) enables precise water level control to resolve these problems.
[0129] As an example of actual application, the oil discharge height changing unit (153) is useful in a complex processing line that uses cutting fluids with various viscosities and mixing concentrations, and can ensure consistent oil separation quality even in a dynamic environment where refining conditions vary with each operation. In addition, since oil recovery rates and cutting fluid reuse rates must be precisely managed in high-end metal processing sites, this function plays an important role in quality control and productivity assurance.
[0130] As explained above, the smart cutting fluid purifier can effectively solve the problems of purification time delay and non-uniformity of purification quality that occur in conventional static sedimentation or filter-based purification methods. By performing the layer separation of cutting fluid and oil in a natural and continuous flow through the specific gravity separation unit (120), the present invention can separate oil and foreign substances mixed within the cutting fluid with high efficiency and maintain consistency in purification quality. Accordingly, it becomes possible to stably secure purified cutting fluid without the need for repetitive purification cycles.
[0131] Conventional technologies generally have structural limitations in that they are limited in the amount injected at one time or operated in a batch processing manner, making it impossible to process a large amount of cutting fluid simultaneously. In contrast, the smart cutting fluid purifier of the present invention has a structure that allows the purification process to be performed continuously according to the spatial division structure of the main body housing (110) and the fluid flow control design, and thus has the advantage of being able to process a large amount of cutting fluid at once or to inject and purify it in real time.
[0132] In conventional equipment, the generation of bubbles, splashing, and disturbance of fluid flow that may occur when cutting fluid to be purified is introduced have caused the spread of contaminants or damage to the device. In the present invention, the receiving pipe (112) is formed in an inverted U-shaped structure, thereby allowing the cutting fluid to flow smoothly to the bottom surface and preventing the spread of bubbles or dust, which can contribute to preventing the spread of contaminants and extending the lifespan of the equipment. This enables stable operation, particularly in environments with severe changes in contamination levels, such as high-speed processing sites.
[0133] Conventional fixed separation structures had the problem of not being able to flexibly respond to various cutting fluid conditions. The membrane spacing changing part (152) of the present invention can actively adjust the spacing and position of the membrane (122) according to the viscosity, inflow amount, and contamination state of the cutting fluid, thereby enabling optimized separation performance even under various conditions. This contributes significantly to maintaining purification efficiency in multi-product process environments or irregular production conditions.
[0134] In existing technologies with inadequate oil separation structures, problems arise where oil is re-mixed into the refined cutting fluid or the oil itself is not completely recovered, making reuse impossible. The oil separation discharge unit (130) of the present invention can precisely adjust the position of the horizontal slit-shaped through hole (131) through a rotatable structure, and the oil discharge height changing unit (153) linked thereto selectively discharges only the upper oil layer, thereby fundamentally preventing the mixing of refined cutting fluid and oil.
[0135] Improvement of user operational convenience and work efficiency is also one of the important effects of the present invention. The present invention provides a smart management environment in which the operating status can be checked in real time and key components can be remotely controlled by linking with a touch panel or smart device through an operating status monitoring unit (151). This reduces the risk of repetitive manual operation or equipment malfunction and can significantly reduce the fatigue and maintenance burden of the operator.
[0136] Consequently, the smart cutting fluid purifier of the present invention resolves the problems raised in conventional technology, such as reduced purification speed, uneven purification quality, lack of structural flexibility, and inefficiency of manual management, while enabling the implementation of an advanced purification system equipped with continuous operation, fluid flow optimization, and smart control functions. Through this, it is possible to realize industrial value by maximizing the reuse rate of cutting fluids, reducing production costs, and decreasing environmental burden throughout the metal processing industry.
