Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a fume outdoor discharge system and method, and in particular, to a fume outdoor discharge system and method suitable for discharging indoor fumes generated when manufacturing a type C liquefied gas storage tank indoors to the outside. Background Technology

[0002] In response to IMO environmental regulations, the demand for eco-friendly, high-efficiency liquefied gas fuels such as liquefied natural gas (LNG) and ammonia is increasing.

[0003] Due to the robust imbalance between energy supply and demand, Type C tanks are expected to play a crucial role in the anticipated eco-friendly ship market as a means of storing and transporting various fuels and cargoes.

[0004] Type C liquefied gas storage tanks are generally manufactured in vero- and cylindrical forms, and can store gas at a higher pressure than Type A and B tanks with a design pressure of 2 bar or more. They are considered suitable for the stable storage and transport of various eco-friendly fuels on ships because the risk of structural failure and leakage is limited and secondary barriers are unnecessary.

[0005] Tanks for storing liquefied gas must be made of materials capable of withstanding ultra-low temperatures, such as austenitic stainless steel and 9% nickel steel. However, since the unit cost of these materials is high, high-manganese steel, which is relatively inexpensive and has excellent low-temperature brittleness resistance, is gaining attention as a new material for storage tanks.

[0006] High-manganese steel is an alloy steel that incorporates a large amount of manganese into ordinary carbon steel to ensure high strength, non-magnetism, wear resistance, and cryogenic impact toughness. High-manganese steel utilizes manganese, which is about 10 times cheaper than nickel, thereby lowering material costs. It also offers superior performance compared to existing materials even at cryogenic temperatures and excellent manufacturability. However, storage tanks made of such high-manganese steel generate a significant amount of fumes during the welding process, which can obscure visibility in indoor factories and potentially reduce work efficiency.

[0007] In addition, excessive exposure to welding fumes from high-manganese steel can cause acute pneumonia and metal fume disease, and there is also a risk of severe neurological diseases due to chronic poisoning when welding in confined spaces.

[0008] The general manufacturing process of this type C liquefied gas storage tank is briefly explained with reference to Fig. 1 as follows.

[0009] Figure 1 is a schematic diagram showing the assembly sequence of multiple blocks for manufacturing a liquefied gas storage tank (Type C).

[0010] In the case of a liquefied gas storage tank (10) equipped on a large vessel, as shown in FIG. 1 (a), several body blocks (11) and two head blocks (12) are each manufactured, and then as shown in FIG. 1 (b), the body blocks (11) are assembled between the head blocks (12) to form the liquefied gas storage tank (10), and after the assembly of each block is completed, insulation work is carried out together.

[0011] When manufacturing the above-mentioned liquefied gas storage tank (10) indoors, a large amount of fumes is generated due to welding work, and the fumes must be quickly discharged outdoors to minimize the exposure of indoor workers to the fumes.

[0012] Regarding prior art related to a welding fume exhaust device, there is a disclosed invention in Publication No. 10-2012-0009074 (Title of Invention: Welding Fume Exhaust Device, Inventors: Ko Young-mu et al. 2) which includes “a local space forming body surrounding a welding location; a suction cone mounted on the local space forming body; an exhaust hose with one end connected to the suction cone; and an exhaust fan connected to the other end of the exhaust hose and disposed outside a workspace including the welding location.” However, this invention by Ko Young-mu et al. is intended for exhausting welding fumes in a local space and is unsuitable for use in sucking and exhausting fumes in a large indoor space.

[0013] In addition, since the invention of Ko Young-mu et al. involves inhaling fumes near the floor of the workplace, the fumes flow toward the floor where the worker is located, increasing the probability of inhalation into the worker's respiratory system. The problem to be solved

[0014] The objective of the present invention is to provide an outdoor fume discharge system and method to prevent fumes generated during the welding process for manufacturing Type C liquefied gas storage tanks, etc. from spreading to an indoor factory where workers are present, thereby minimizing workers' exposure to fumes and preventing a decrease in work efficiency caused by fumes.

[0015] Another objective of the present invention is to provide a fume outdoor exhaust system and method suitable for use in indoor welding plants where it is difficult to install a high-capacity fan in the exhaust section.

[0016] For reference, this patent was researched with the support of Mokpo National University Glocal College in 2024. means of solving the problem

[0017] The fume outdoor discharge system according to the present invention comprises: an air flow section providing an air flow passage; a discharge section installed at a first end of the air flow section for discharging air flowing in from the air flow section to the outside; a supply section installed at a second end of the air flow section for supplying air to the air flow section to generate an air flow toward the discharge section; a negative pressure fume collection section connected to the air flow section between the discharge section and the supply section to form negative pressure inside by the air flow, thereby sucking in indoor fumes and sending them to the air flow section; a filter section installed in the air flow section between the negative pressure fume collection section and the discharge section for filtering harmful substances from the fumes passing through; and a power supply section for supplying power to a place where power is required, including the supply section and the discharge section.

[0018] It is desirable for the above air supply unit to supply outdoor air to the above air flow unit.

[0019] It is preferable to install an industrial centrifugal high-pressure blower in the above air supply section.

[0020] An exhaust fan may be installed in the above discharge section to increase the amount or speed of the airflow of the above air flow section.

[0021] The above air flow section may have a velocity increasing section that increases the air velocity by forming the internal cross-sectional area of the part connected to the negative pressure fume collection section to be smaller than that of the adjacent part.

[0022] It may include a pressure sensor installed in the above-mentioned negative pressure fume collection unit; and a control unit that controls the operation of the air supply unit or the air supply unit and the discharge unit according to pressure information applied from the pressure sensor to maintain the negative pressure applied to the negative pressure fume collection unit at a constant level or to adjust the magnitude of the negative pressure.

[0023] The fume outdoor discharge method according to the present invention comprises: an installation step of installing the fume outdoor discharge system according to the present invention in a workplace where welding work is performed indoors; a suction and transfer step of operating the air supply unit or the air supply unit and the discharge unit to apply negative pressure to the negative pressure fume collection unit to suck fumes indoors into the negative pressure fume collection unit and transfer them to the air flow unit; a filtering step of filtering harmful substances from the fumes sucked into the air flow unit through the filter unit; and a discharge step of discharging the fumes that have passed through the filter unit through the discharge unit.

[0024] It may include a sound pressure adjustment step that controls the operation of the air supply unit or the air supply unit and the discharge unit to maintain the sound pressure applied to the sound pressure fume collection unit at a constant level or to adjust the magnitude of the sound pressure.

[0025] It may include a pressure measuring step for measuring the pressure of the above-mentioned negative pressure fume collection unit; and a negative pressure adjustment step for controlling the operation of the air supply unit or the air supply unit and the discharge unit according to the measured pressure of the above-mentioned negative pressure fume collection unit so that the negative pressure applied to the above-mentioned negative pressure fume collection unit is maintained at a constant level or adjusting the magnitude of the negative pressure. Effects of the invention

[0026] According to the present invention, by creating negative pressure through air flow in a collection unit placed in a sealed indoor space, a pressure difference is created between the upper space and the lower space, so that fumes generated during the welding process are collected in the negative pressure fume collection unit, thereby preventing the fumes from spreading to the lower space of the workplace and minimizing the exposure of welding workers to fumes.

[0027] According to the present invention, by generating a rapid airflow in the air flow section through a high-capacity industrial centrifugal high-pressure blower installed in the air supply section, a negative pressure lower than the pressure in the lower space can be generated in the negative pressure fume collection section, thereby enabling rapid suction of fumes from a large indoor work site. FIG. 8 is a drawing showing another variation of the fume outdoor discharge system according to the present invention. Specific details for implementing the invention

[0029] Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the attached drawings.

[0030] Referring to FIGS. 2 to 4, the fume outdoor discharge system (100) according to the present invention has an air flow section (110), a discharge section (120), an air supply section (130), a negative pressure fume collection section (140), a filter section (150), and a power supply section (160).

[0031] The fume outdoor discharge system (100) according to the present invention is intended to suck in indoor fumes (F) generated during the welding process for manufacturing liquefied gas storage tanks (T), etc., and discharge them outdoors.

[0032] The air flow section (110) of the fume outdoor discharge system (100) according to the present invention provides an air flow passage, thereby enabling air flow to be generated so that negative pressure can be formed in the negative pressure fume collection section (140) connected to the air flow section (110), and serves to enable the fume (F) sucked in from the negative pressure fume collection section (140) to be transferred to the discharge section (120).

[0033] The exhaust section (120) is installed at the first end of the air flow section (110) and serves to discharge air flowing in from the air flow section (110) to the outside. The exhaust section (120) is positioned to be exposed to the outside through the outer wall of the building (30) surrounding the indoor workshop (20). Accordingly, there are limitations on increasing the size of the exhaust section (120). A fan may not be installed in this exhaust section (120). That is, if a sufficient flow rate is secured in the air supply section (130) described later, and a pressure difference is created between the upper and lower spaces relative to the negative pressure fume collection section (140), a fan does not need to be installed in the exhaust section (120). However, depending on the size and length of the air flow section (110), an exhaust fan may be installed in the exhaust section (120) to facilitate smoother air discharge. A fume concentration detection sensor for detecting the concentration of fume (F) may be installed in such a discharge section (120).

[0034] The air supply unit (130) is installed at the second end of the air flow unit (110) to supply air to the air flow unit (110) and generate an airflow in the air flow unit (110) toward the discharge unit (120), thereby lowering the pressure of the negative pressure fume collection unit (140) connected to the air flow unit (110). A high-capacity blower, such as an industrial centrifugal high-pressure blower, is installed in this air supply unit (130). The air supply unit (130) is installed on the floor side and, preferably, sucks in and supplies outdoor air. The air supply unit (130) may be configured so that an administrator can manually turn a switch on / off to operate or stop it.

[0035] Depending on the circumstances, the fume outdoor discharge system (100) according to the present invention may have a control unit (170) for controlling the operation of the air supply unit (130). The control unit (170) may receive fume concentration information by installing a fume concentration detection sensor around the discharge unit (120) or an indoor workplace, and may control the operation of the air supply unit (130) according to the fume concentration.

[0036] The negative pressure fume collection unit (140) is connected to the air flow unit (110) between the discharge unit (120) and the supply unit (130). When air flow occurs in the air flow unit (110), the negative pressure fume collection unit (140) forms negative pressure inside according to the Bernoulli principle, thereby sucking in fumes (F) inside the building and sending them to the air flow unit (110). Multiple such negative pressure fume collection units (140) may be installed at intervals.

[0037] The filter section (150) is installed in the air flow section (110) between the negative pressure fume collection section (140) and the discharge section (120) and serves to filter out harmful substances from the fume (F) passing through. Depending on the situation, a secondary HEPA filter may be installed. The filter section (150) may be formed to be openable for filter inspection and replacement.

[0038] The power supply unit (160) is intended to supply power to places where power is needed, including the air supply unit (130).

[0039] Referring to FIG. 5, a pressure sensor (180) may be installed in the negative pressure fume collection unit (140). The pressure sensor (180) measures the pressure within the negative pressure fume collection unit (140) and applies it to the control unit (170). The control unit (170) can control the operation of the air supply unit (130) according to the pressure information applied from the pressure sensor (180). When an exhaust fan is installed in the discharge unit (120) to increase the amount or speed of the air flow of the air flow unit (110), the control unit (170) can control the operation of the air supply unit (130) and the discharge unit (120) to maintain the negative pressure applied to the negative pressure fume collection unit (140) constant, or to adjust the magnitude of the negative pressure to increase or decrease.

[0040] A fume outdoor discharge method according to the present invention using the fume outdoor discharge system (100) according to the present invention as described above will be explained with reference to FIG. 6.

[0041] That is, to implement the method of the present invention, the fume outdoor discharge system (100) according to the present invention is installed in a workshop where a liquefied gas storage tank (T), etc. is made indoors (S1).

[0042] When outdoor air is supplied to the air flow section (110) by operating the air supply section (130) or the air supply section (130) and the discharge section (120) during welding work (S2), a rapid air flow is generated in the air flow section (110) in the direction indicated by the arrow in FIG. 3. Accordingly, a negative pressure lower than the positive pressure at the bottom of the negative pressure fume collection section (140) is formed inside the negative pressure fume collection section (140) connected to the air flow section (110) according to Bernoulli's principle (S3). In FIG. 3, the minus sign in parentheses indicates the part where negative pressure is formed, and the plus sign in parentheses indicates the part where positive pressure is formed.

[0043] Accordingly, a suction transfer step (S4) is performed in which the fume (F) at the bottom of the negative pressure fume collection unit (140) is sucked into the negative pressure fume collection unit (140) and sent to the air flow unit (110), and the fume (F) is sent to the discharge unit (120) and discharged outdoors through the filter unit (150) (S5) together with the air supplied from the air supply unit (130) (S6).

[0044] Meanwhile, if a pressure sensor (180) is installed in the negative pressure fume collection unit (140), the pressure sensor (180) measures the pressure inside the negative pressure fume collection unit (140) and applies pressure information to the control unit (170) (S7). The control unit (170) controls the operation of the air supply unit (130) or the air supply unit (130) and the discharge unit (120) according to the pressure information applied from the pressure sensor (180) so that the pressure of the negative pressure fume collection unit (140) is maintained at a constant level, or so that the pressure is increased or decreased according to the concentration of fumes applied to the fume concentration sensor, etc. (S8).

[0045] Referring to FIGS. 7 and 8, the air flow section (110) may have a flow velocity increasing section (112) formed such that the internal cross-sectional area of the air flow section (110), to which the negative pressure fume collection section (140) is connected, is smaller than that of the adjacent section. By doing so, the air flow passage within the air flow section (110) at the part where the negative pressure fume collection section (140) is connected, that is, the flow velocity in the flow velocity increasing section (112), increases, thereby further lowering the pressure within the negative pressure fume collection section (140) and increasing the suction force for fume (F).

[0046] According to the present invention as described above, fumes (F) generated during the welding process when manufacturing a liquefied gas storage tank (Type C) can be discharged to the outside, thereby minimizing the worker's exposure to fumes (F). By creating a pressure difference between the negative pressure fume collection unit (140) and the lower space through the inflow of air into the air flow unit (110), fumes (F) generated during the welding process can be easily discharged to the outside.

[0047] Stagnant fumes (F) indoors without airflow are collected in a negative pressure fume collection unit (140), pass through an air flow unit (110) and a filter unit (150), and are discharged outdoors through a discharge unit (120). The fume outdoor discharge system (100) according to the present invention is a system that forcibly sucks in indoor fumes (F) generated during welding work and discharges them outdoors.

[0048] Air is introduced through an industrial centrifugal high-pressure blower, etc., of the air supply unit (130), and the introduced air flows through the piping of the air flow unit (110) connected to the air supply unit. By introducing air through the air supply unit (130), negative pressure is formed within the negative pressure fume collection unit (140), and positive pressure can be formed in the lower space of the negative pressure fume collection unit (140).

[0049] In addition, in the step of generating the pressure difference, the operation of the air supply unit (130) can be controlled through the control unit (170) so that the pressure difference between the internal space of the negative pressure fume collection unit (140) and the lower space thereof is maintained constant by considering the area of the negative pressure fume collection unit (140). The fume (F) collected in the air flow unit (110) duct due to the pressure difference is moved to the filter unit (150) by the flow of air inside the pipe, and the concentration of the fume (F) can be reduced.

[0050] In addition, fumes (F) with reduced concentration of harmful substances after passing through the filter section (150) can be discharged outside the workplace through the discharge section (120). Industrial applicability
