Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a dispenser for dispensing a measured amount of coating liquid onto a semiconductor chip on a display or semiconductor film, and a coating device including the same. Background Technology

[0003] In a display manufacturing process or a semiconductor chip manufacturing process, a coating solution (mainly liquid adhesive or silicone material, etc.) is used to fill the gap between two substrates (glass) to bond the edges between the two substrates and prevent light leakage. This coating process is performed using a coating device that includes a dispenser.

[0004] FIG. 1 is a drawing showing a dispensing device including a dispenser.

[0005] Referring to FIG. 1, the dispensing device (10) includes a compressor (11), a regulator (R), a pressure controller (12), and a dispenser (13).

[0006] The compressor (11) supplies compressed air to the dispenser (13), and the pressure controller (12) regulates the pressure of the compressed air and supplies it to the dispenser (13). The regulator (R) may be a solenoid-type on / off valve and controls the supply of compressed air from the compressor (11) to the dispenser (13).

[0007] The dispenser (13) is equipped with a syringe (13a) filled with a coating liquid and a nozzle (13b) for dispensing the coating liquid. Compressed air supplied to the syringe (13a) through a pressure controller (12) pressurizes the coating liquid filled inside the syringe (13a) downward so that it is discharged through the nozzle (13b) and applied to an object (display or semiconductor chip).

[0008] Meanwhile, in the coating process, a fine shock wave may be generated as the pressure of the compressed air supplied to the syringe (13a) of the dispenser (13) through the compressor (11) and pressure controller (12) changes during the initial operation or operation of the dispenser (13).

[0009] For example, when the dispenser (13) is switched from a stopped state (OFF) where the compressed air supply is interrupted to a starting state (ON) where the supply is started, a shock wave may be generated by the pressure of the compressed air that first flows into the syringe (13a).

[0010] As another example, the compressor (11) supplies compressed air not only to the dispenser (13) but also to other devices (14) that use compressed air. In this case, when the compressor (11) supplies compressed air to other devices (14) while the dispenser (13) is operating, the pressure of the compressed air supplied to the dispenser (13) changes, and a shock wave may be generated.

[0011] These shock waves affect the discharge amount of coating liquid discharged through the nozzle (13b), causing a hindrance to discharge a fixed amount of coating liquid. As a result, the amount of coating becomes uneven, and the coated shape does not form a uniform shape but rather takes on a bumpy appearance. This can have an adverse effect on the display or semiconductor chip and may cause a decrease in quality. Prior art literature

[0038] Referring to FIGS. 2 to 5, a dispenser (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a syringe part (110), a buffer part (120), a nozzle part (130), and an air chamber (140).

[0039] The syringe part (110) is filled with a coating liquid (A), and compressed air is introduced through a compressor (11, see FIG. 1) and a pressure controller (12, see FIG. 1).

[0040] Specifically, the syringe portion (110) includes a syringe (111), a syringe cap (112), a guide member (113), and a connecting tube (114).

[0041] The syringe (111) is formed in the shape of a hollow cylinder with an open top, and is filled with a coating liquid. A locking wing (111a) that is bent outward is formed on the top of the syringe (111).

[0042] The syringe cap (112) seals the open upper portion of the syringe (111), and a flow tube (112a) through which compressed air flows is formed in the center of the interior. The flow tube (112a) is connected to an air hose (H) connected to a pressure controller (12). Additionally, a pair of locking members (112b) are formed on both ends of the syringe cap (112), which are bent inward while extending downward.

[0043] With the syringe (111) filled with the coating liquid (A), the syringe cap (112) can be rotated so that the locking member (112b) engages with the locking wing (111a), thereby connecting the syringe (111) and the syringe cap (112).

[0044] Compressed air supplied from the compressor (11) is supplied into the syringe (111) through the pressure controller (12), air hose (H), and flow pipe (112a), and the compressed air acts as a piston that pressurizes the upper surface of the coating liquid (A) to discharge the coating liquid through the nozzle (132).

[0045] A guide member (113) is formed at the lower part of a syringe (111) to guide the flow of the coating liquid (A), and the upper end of a connecting tube (114) is connected to the guide member (113), and the lower end of a connecting tube (114) is connected to a buffer part (120) so that the coating liquid flows into the buffer part (120).

[0046] The buffer section (120) is installed between the syringe section (110) and the nozzle section (130). The buffer section (120) allows the coating liquid filled in the syringe section to be temporarily stored by compressed air flowing into the syringe section (110). At the same time, the coating liquid (B) already filled in the buffer section (120) is supplied to the nozzle section (130).

[0047] Specifically, the buffer section (120) may include a buffer housing (121) and a buffer opening (122). The buffer housing (121) is connected to the bottom of the connecting tube (114) and is formed into a space having a predetermined volume, and the buffer housing (121) is filled with an application liquid (B). It is sufficient for the volume of the buffer housing (121) to be larger than the volume of the connecting tube (114) and the nozzle tube (131). The application liquid (A) filled in the syringe (111) and the application liquid (B) filled in the buffer housing (121) are the same, but have different signs depending on the filled location.

[0048] One side of the buffer housing (121) is opened to a predetermined area to form a buffer opening (122). The buffer opening (122) is connected to an air chamber (140).

[0049] The air chamber (140) is formed as a hollow tubular body connected to the buffer opening (122). The interior of the air chamber (140) is filled with compressed air at a predetermined pressure. The coating liquid (B) filled in the buffer housing (121) can be moved toward the air chamber (140) until the pressure from the coating liquid (B) and the pressure of the compressed air inside the air chamber (140) are in equilibrium.

[0050] When pressure equilibrium is achieved, if the pressure of the coating liquid (B) filled inside the buffer section (120) increases due to a shock wave, a portion of the coating liquid (B) is further moved to the air chamber (140) side through the buffer opening (122) to further relieve the discharge pressure applied to the coating liquid (B) by the shock wave.

[0051] That is, the coating liquid (A) inside the syringe (111) is introduced into the buffer section (120) with a wide cross-sectional area through the connecting pipe (114) with a narrow cross-sectional area by the shock wave, thereby dispersing the discharge pressure caused by the shock wave. However, if the discharge pressure in the dispersed state further increases the pressure of the coating liquid (B) and becomes greater than the compressed air pressure inside the air chamber (140), a portion of the coating liquid (B) can be moved to the air chamber (140) side through the buffer opening (122) until pressure equilibrium is achieved.

[0052] Afterward, when the pressure caused by the shock wave is dissipated, the pressure of the coating liquid (B) is reduced to be lower than the compressed air pressure inside the air chamber (140), and the coating liquid (B) moved outside the buffer opening (122) can be moved back into the buffer housing (121) until pressure equilibrium is restored.

[0053] The nozzle section (130) discharges a coating liquid (B) to fill the gap between two substrates (glass). Specifically, the nozzle section (130) includes a nozzle tube (131), a nozzle (132), and a nozzle cap (133). The nozzle tube (131) is connected to the lower surface of the buffer housing (121), and the lower end of the nozzle tube (131) forms a nozzle (132) from which the coating liquid (B) is discharged, with the diameter gradually decreasing. The nozzle cap (133) is formed to surround the nozzle tube (131) to protect the nozzle tube (131).

[0055] Next, the operation process of a dispenser according to one embodiment of the present invention configured as above and a dispensing device including the same will be explained.

[0056] First, a dispenser (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention is installed in a dispensing device (10) as shown in FIG. 1, and a dispensing liquid (A) is filled into a syringe (111). At this time, after releasing the connection between the syringe (111) and the syringe cap (112), the dispensing liquid (A) can be filled into the syringe (111) manually, or a separate dispensing liquid supply hose can be installed to penetrate one side of the syringe (111) so that it is automatically filled according to the liquid level.

[0057] Next, the regulator (R) is switched to ON to start supplying compressed air from the compressor (11). The pressure of the compressed air is regulated by the pressure controller (12) and supplied to the syringe (111) of the dispenser (100), thereby pressurizing the upper surface of the coating liquid (A).

[0058] At this time, as the pressure fluctuates due to the initiation of compressed air supply, shock waves may occur in the coating liquid (A). Also, if the compressor (11) supplies compressed air to another device (14) during the coating process, shock waves may occur as the pressure of the compressed air supplied to the dispenser (100) changes.

[0059] A portion of the coating liquid (A), pressurized by compressed air that causes a shock wave, flows through the connecting pipe (114) into the buffer housing (121) filled with the coating liquid (B). At this time, the coating liquid (A) inside the syringe (111) flows into the buffer housing (121) with a wide cross-sectional area through the connecting pipe (114) with a narrow cross-sectional area, thereby dispersing the discharge pressure caused by the shock wave. Then, the coating liquid (B) already filled in the buffer housing (121) is pushed by the newly introduced coating liquid (A), flows through the nozzle pipe (131), and can be discharged to the target object through the nozzle (132).

[0060] At this time, when the pressure caused by the shock wave is relatively high, a portion of the coating liquid (B) is moved to the air chamber (140) through the buffer opening (122) until pressure equilibrium is achieved, and thereafter, when the pressure caused by the shock wave is dissipated, the coating liquid (B) moved outside the buffer opening (122) can be moved back inside the buffer housing (121) until pressure equilibrium is achieved again.

[0061] That is, the non-uniform discharge pressure caused by the shock wave can be relieved first by the buffer section (120) and second by the air chamber (140). As a result, a precise amount of coating liquid can be discharged.

[0063] Although embodiments of the present invention have been described above, those skilled in the art may modify and change the present invention in various ways by adding, changing, deleting, or adding components, etc., without departing from the spirit of the present invention as described in the claims, and such modifications and changes are also to be included within the scope of the rights of the present invention.
