Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to an insulating cover for a gas supply pipe, and more specifically, to an insulating cover for a gas supply pipe that reduces the risk of accidental cutting by providing a temperature-sensing unit so that whether the temperature is above a predetermined temperature can be visually checked from the outside. Background Technology

[0003] Generally, in factories such as semiconductor plant facilities, ultra-low pressure hazardous gases (typically NH3 gas, etc.) may be used as hazardous chemicals, and gas supply pipelines are installed for this purpose.

[0004] In such gas supply pipes, a heater (e.g., a heating wire) is installed on the outer circumference of the gas supply pipe so that the hazardous gas at ultra-low pressure moves within the gas supply pipe and reaches the appropriate temperature and pressure to be used, and an insulating jacket is installed over it to surround the gas supply pipe.

[0005] Typically, these gas supply pipelines are repeatedly partially removed and subsequently rebuilt for maintenance over time. For example, a portion of the gas supply pipeline may be cut and removed, and a new gas supply pipeline may be installed in the removed section.

[0006] Figure 1 is a photograph showing the completed construction state of the piping lines of the hazardous gas supply piping facility.

[0007] As illustrated in FIG. 1, multiple hazardous gas supply pipes are provided in a bundled form adjacent to each other, and each gas supply pipe is surrounded by an insulating jacket. The length of the gas supply pipes varies depending on the plant equipment and can be considerably large, for example, in the range of 100 to 500 m.

[0008] Meanwhile, the removal of hazardous gas supply pipelines is typically carried out through the following process.

[0009] - Process 1: Stop the supply of hazardous gas to the gas pipeline including the portion to be removed among multiple hazardous gas supply pipelines, and stop the operation of the heater installed in the said gas pipeline.

[0010] - Process 2: Perform a purging process using nitrogen, etc., to ensure that no hazardous chemicals (dangerous gases) remain in the gas pipeline containing the section to be removed.

[0011] - Process 3: Cut both ends of a predetermined length section to be removed from the gas pipeline where the purging process was performed.

[0012] However, as mentioned above, since multiple hazardous gas supply pipes are installed in a bundled arrangement adjacent to each other, there is a risk of accidental cutting where a gas pipe in use is mistakenly cut instead of the one actually subject to removal.

[0013] In particular, when the specified length to be removed is large, both ends of that section must be cut; however, since both ends of that section do not come into the worker's field of vision at once, there is a risk that even if one end is cut correctly, the other end may be incorrectly cut along a different gas pipe.

[0014] If a gas supply pipeline in use is improperly cut, it may result in the leakage of hazardous chemicals, fire hazards, and consequent large-scale casualties. The problem to be solved

[0016] The present invention was devised to solve the problems of the aforementioned prior art and aims to provide an insulating cover for a gas supply pipeline that reduces the risk of accidental cutting. means of solving the problem

[0018] An exemplary configuration of the present invention for achieving the above-mentioned purpose is as follows.

[0019] A thermal insulation cover for a gas supply pipe according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a thermal insulation jacket portion having a predetermined width and length to surround a gas supply pipe, and a temperature sensing portion disposed on the thermal insulation jacket portion and configured to visually indicate whether the temperature is above a predetermined temperature.

[0020] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the temperature-sensitive member may include a thermochromic layer.

[0021] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the temperature-sensitive portion may further include an adhesive layer applied to the thermal insulation jacket portion and disposed between the thermal insulation jacket portion and the temperature-sensitive color-changing layer.

[0022] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the temperature-sensitive portion further includes a binder layer as an uppermost layer formed by applying it on the thermochromic layer, and the binder layer may be composed of a transparent polyurethane binder or a transparent silicone binder.

[0023] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the thermochromic layer is configured to display a first color when the temperature is below the predetermined temperature and a second color when the temperature is above the predetermined temperature, and the predetermined temperature may be set to a value between the normal operating temperature of the heater of the gas supply pipe and the ambient temperature of the environment in which the gas supply pipe is installed.

[0024] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the adhesive layer is formed by adding a primer composed of at least one of an alkyl polyether, a modified polyacrylate, and a polyurethane to an acrylic resin, dissolving it in a solvent mixed with acetone and ethanol in a ratio of 1 to 2 to 1, applying it, and drying it, wherein the concentration of the primer is within the range of 10 to 25 wt% based on solid content, and the thickness of the primer may be within the range of 15 to 25 μm.

[0025] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the thermochromic layer is formed by adding a microcapsule-type thermochromic pigment to a thermoplastic acrylic copolymer based on methyl methacrylate or butyl methacrylate, dissolving it in a solvent mixed with acetone and ethanol in a ratio of 1 to 2 to 1, and applying it, wherein the concentration of the thermochromic pigment is in the range of 10 to 30 wt% and the thickness of the thermochromic layer may be in the range of 10 to 30 μm. Effects of the invention

[0027] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the manufacturing and installation process of a separate device that measures and displays the temperature of the thermal insulation jacket is not required. Instead, just like the installation of a conventional thermal insulation cover, the external visual confirmation of whether the heater in the gas supply pipe is operating can be made (during subsequent removal work) simply by installing a thermal insulation cover with a thermochromic layer formed thereon, thereby significantly reducing the risk of accidental cutting.

[0028] According to one embodiment of the present invention, when dispersing a microcapsule-type thermochromic pigment on a thermal insulation jacket, an adhesive layer of an acrylic resin type is formed as an intermediate adhesive layer, and a thermochromic layer formed by mixing the microcapsule-type thermochromic pigment with an acrylic copolymer is applied thereon, thereby improving the adhesion of the microcapsule-type thermochromic pigment. Furthermore, the shapes and sizes of the components depicted in the drawings are arbitrarily drawn for convenience of explanation, and therefore the present invention is not necessarily limited to the depicted shapes and sizes. That is, specific shapes, structures, and characteristics described in the specification may be modified and implemented from one embodiment to another without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention, and the positions or arrangements of individual components may also be changed without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Accordingly, the detailed description provided below is not intended to be limiting, and the scope of the present invention should be accepted as encompassing the scope claimed by the claims of the patent claims and all equivalent scopes.

[0033] Hereinafter, an insulating cover for a gas supply pipe according to one embodiment of the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the drawings.

[0034] FIG. 2 is a photograph of an insulating cover for a gas supply pipe according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 3 shows a state in which an insulating cover for a gas supply pipe according to an embodiment of the present invention is mounted on a gas supply pipe. FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view of an insulating cover for a gas supply pipe according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 5 shows a state in which a thermochromic layer turns red when the temperature is above a predetermined temperature.

[0035] As illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 3, a thermal insulation cover (1) for a gas supply pipe according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured to include a thermal insulation jacket portion (120) having a predetermined width and length to surround a gas supply pipe (10), and a temperature sensing portion (140) disposed on the thermal insulation jacket portion (120) and configured to visually indicate whether the temperature is above a predetermined temperature.

[0036] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the thermal insulation jacket portion (120) has a predetermined width and length for wrapping a gas supply pipe and may be a flexible thermal insulation material.

[0037] As an example, the thermal insulation jacket portion (120) may be silver foil glass wool. Glass wool is an inorganic artificial mineral fiber insulation material formed into a specific shape through a high-speed coil after melting glass raw materials at a high temperature, and silver foil glass wool is a glass wool coated with silver foil (to further block heat release and suppress heat loss), and has excellent thermal insulation and heat retention effects.

[0038] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the temperature-sensitive member (140) may be configured to include a thermochromic layer (144). The thermochromic layer (144) may be configured to display a first color (e.g., white) when the temperature is below the predetermined temperature and a second color (e.g., red) when the temperature is above the predetermined temperature.

[0039] As shown in FIG. 3, a heater (20) (e.g., a heating wire) is placed on the outer surface of the gas supply pipe (10), and the thermal insulation jacket (120) is placed over the heater (20) and simultaneously wraps around the gas supply pipe (10).

[0040] In the present invention, the temperature-sensitive part (140) is implemented on the thermal insulation jacket part (120) in the form of a temperature-sensitive color-changing layer, so the manufacturing of a separate device to measure and display the temperature of the thermal insulation jacket part (120) and the installation process of such a device are not required. That is, just like the installation of a conventional thermal insulation cover, the thermal insulation cover (1) having the temperature-sensitive color-changing layer (144) formed according to the present invention can be visually checked from the outside (during subsequent removal work) whether the heater (20) in the gas supply pipe (10) is operating, and accordingly, the risk of accidental cutting is significantly reduced.

[0041] Although the heater (20) may differ in its installation manner, the heater (10) is commonly installed on the outer surface of the gas supply pipe (20) to heat the gas supply pipe (10) made of metal (typically stainless steel), and the temperature of the outer surface of the gas supply pipe (10) matches the normal operating temperature of the heater (20).

[0042] As described above, the predetermined temperature is a temperature that serves as a standard for determining whether the thermochromic layer (144) changes color, and the predetermined temperature may be set so that the thermochromic layer (144) changes color depending on whether the heater (20) installed in the gas supply pipe (10) is operating normally. As an example, the predetermined temperature may be determined based on the environment in which the gas supply pipe (10) to which the thermal insulation cover (1) for the gas supply pipe is applied is installed, and the normal operating temperature of the heater (20) installed in the gas supply pipe (10).

[0043] Specifically, the predetermined temperature may be set to a value between the normal operating temperature of the heater (20) and the ambient temperature of the environment where the gas supply pipe (10) is installed. For example, if the normal operating temperature of the heater (20) is 40° and the ambient temperature of the environment where the gas supply pipe (10) is installed is in the temperature range of 22° to 27° (typically, the ambient temperature of the environment where the gas supply pipe is installed is managed within a predetermined range), the predetermined temperature may be 35°. That is, the thermochromic layer (144) may display red if the temperature is 35° or higher, and white if the temperature is less than 35°. This takes into account that if the heater (20) is operating normally at 40°, the upper surface of the thermal insulation jacket (120) will be at the same or slightly lower temperature, and if the heater (20) is not operating, the upper surface of the thermal insulation jacket (120) will be at a temperature almost the same as the ambient temperature. The predetermined temperature of the thermochromic layer (140) can be determined, for example, by appropriately selecting the components and the mixing ratios of a plurality of known temperature-sensitive materials (e.g., microcapsule-type thermochromic pigments).

[0044] Meanwhile, in the present invention, the thermochromic layer (144) is formed on the thermal jacket portion (120), but there is a risk that this thermochromic layer (144) will easily separate from the thermal jacket portion (120). In particular, if the thermal jacket portion (120) is made of silver foil glass wool for the purpose of thermal insulation, the risk of separation of the thermochromic layer (120) becomes even greater.

[0045] Accordingly, in order to ensure that the thermochromic layer (144) adheres to the thermal jacket portion (120) and to reduce the risk of separation, preferably, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the temperature-sensitive portion (140) may be configured to further include an adhesive layer (142) applied to the thermal jacket portion (120) and disposed between the thermal jacket portion (120) and the thermochromic layer (144), and a binder layer (146) as an uppermost layer applied to the thermochromic layer (144).

[0046] In addition, the inventors discovered through repeated experiments that when forming an intermediate adhesive layer (142) interposed between the thermochromic layer (144) and the thermal insulation jacket portion (120) so that the thermochromic layer (144) adheres to the thermal insulation jacket portion (120), and when a primer composed of at least one of alkyl polyether, modified polyacrylate, and polyurethane is added to an acrylic resin and dissolved in a solvent mixed with acetone and ethanol in a ratio of 1 to 2 to 1, and then applied and dried on the thermal insulation jacket portion (120) to form the adhesive layer (142), the thermochromic layer (144) (described later) adheres to the thermal insulation jacket portion (120) through the adhesive layer (142), the effect of adhering to the thermal insulation jacket portion (120) through the adhesive layer (142) is excellent.

[0047] Additionally, preferably, after the above application, a drying process was performed on the adhesive layer at a drying temperature in the range of 50 to 80 ℃ and a drying time in the range of 20 to 40 minutes, and as a result, it was found that the concentration of the primer of the adhesive layer (142) is in the range of 10 to 25 wt% based on the solid content (non-volatile component remaining after drying), the viscosity is in the range of 40 to 80 cp, and the thickness of the primer (i.e., the thickness of the adhesive layer) is in the range of 15 to 25 μm, which is excellent in terms of adhesion.

[0048] Next, the inventors used a microcapsule-type thermochromic pigment, and after mixing the microcapsule-type thermochromic pigment with a thermoplastic acrylic copolymer based on methyl methacrylate or butyl methacrylate, dissolved it in a solvent mixed with acetone and ethanol in a ratio of 1 to 2 to 1, applied it, and dried it to form a thermochromic layer (144). In addition, a conventional dispersant was used in a range of 1 to 2% when forming the thermochromic layer (144).

[0049] One of the technical reasons for this improved adhesion is understood to be that when dispersing the microcapsule-type thermochromic pigment on the thermal insulation jacket portion (120), an adhesive layer of acrylic resin is formed as an intermediate adhesive layer, and a thermochromic layer in which the microcapsule-type thermochromic pigment is mixed with an acrylic copolymer is applied thereon, thereby improving the adhesion of the microcapsule-type thermochromic pigment.

[0050] Next, the inventors additionally formed a binder layer (146) as an uppermost layer on the thermochromic layer (144) to improve the durability and UV stability of the microcapsule-type thermochromic pigment. As an example, the binder layer (146) may be composed of a transparent polyurethane binder or a transparent silicone binder.

[0051] Although the present invention has been described above with specific details such as specific components and limited embodiments, these embodiments are provided only to aid in a more comprehensive understanding of the invention and the invention is not limited thereto, and those skilled in the art can make various modifications and variations from this description.

[0052] Accordingly, the scope of the present invention should not be limited to the embodiments described above, and all things equivalent or equivalently modified to the claims set forth below, as well as the claims described below, shall be considered to fall within the scope of the concept of the present invention.
