Description

Technology Field

[0001] An embodiment of the present disclosure relates to an electronic device for controlling an uplink transmission mode and a method of operating the same. Background Technology

[0003] With the advancement of wireless communication technology, electronic devices (e.g., communication electronic devices) are being widely used in daily life, and consequently, the demand for wireless data traffic is on the rise. Since the commercialization of 4G (4th generation) communication systems (e.g., LTE (long term evolution)), communication systems that transmit and / or receive signals using high-frequency bands (e.g., mmWave, approximately 3 GHz to 300 GHz band) (e.g., 5G (5th generation), pre-5G communication systems, or new radio (NR)) are being researched to meet the increasing demand for wireless data traffic.

[0004] The information described above may be provided as related art for the purpose of aiding understanding of the present disclosure. No claim or determination is made as to whether any of the foregoing may be applied as prior art related to the present disclosure.

[0006] An electronic device can transmit an uplink (e.g., UL (uplink)) signal (or data) through a first frequency band of the FDD (frequency division duplex) method and a second frequency band of the TDD (time division duplex) method. For example, if the electronic device includes two antennas (or transmission paths), it can transmit a signal of the first frequency band of the FDD method through the first antenna and a signal of the second frequency band of the TDD method through the second antenna.

[0007] When an electronic device uses uplink transmission switching (UL Tx(transmission) switching) under carrier aggregation (CA) conditions, it can transmit a signal in the second frequency band of the TDD method through a first antenna and a second antenna for a specified time. For example, when an electronic device uses uplink transmission switching, it can transmit a signal in the second frequency band of the TDD method using a first antenna assigned to the first frequency band of the FDD method for a specified time.

[0008] When an electronic device uses uplink transmission switching, it can transmit uplink signals (or data) in an uplink transmission mode set based on a control signal (e.g., UL-DCI (down control indicator)) provided by an external electronic device (e.g., base station).

[0009] The uplink transmission mode of an electronic device can be determined by considering channel state information estimated by an external electronic device (e.g., a base station). The electronic device requires a method for determining the uplink transmission mode in the TDD method by considering at least one of the uplink transmission state of the electronic device (e.g., retransmission rate or error rate) or the uplink data type.

[0010] The embodiments of the present disclosure disclose an apparatus and method for controlling an uplink transmission mode of the TDD method when using uplink transmission switching in an electronic device.

[0011] The technical problems to be solved in this document are not limited to those mentioned above, and other technical problems not mentioned will be clearly understood by those skilled in the art to which this disclosure belongs from the description below.

[0013] According to one embodiment, the electronic device may include a plurality of antennas, at least one processor including a communication circuit and a processing circuit, and a memory for storing instructions. According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, the electronic device may establish a communication link with said external electronic device using a time division duplex (TDD) frequency band through at least two antennas among the plurality of antennas for transmitting a signal to said external electronic device. According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, if the electronic device determines that a specified switching condition is satisfied based on the uplink transmission state of the electronic device while communicating with the external electronic device through the communication link, it may check at least one reference signal among a plurality of reference signals corresponding to the TDD frequency band to regulate the transmission power to induce a switching of the transmission mode of the electronic device at the external electronic device. According to one embodiment, when instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, the electronic device may transmit a plurality of reference signals corresponding to a frequency band of a TDD method, including at least one reference signal, to the external electronic device through at least two antennas.

[0014] According to one embodiment, the method of operation of an electronic device may include the operation of establishing a communication link using a time division duplex (TDD) frequency band through at least two antennas among a plurality of antennas for transmitting a signal to an external electronic device. According to one embodiment, the method of operation of an electronic device may include the operation of checking at least one reference signal among a plurality of reference signals corresponding to a TDD frequency band to regulate transmission power in order to induce a switching of the transmission mode of the electronic device at the external electronic device, when it is determined that a specified switching condition is satisfied based on the uplink transmission state of the electronic device while communicating with the external electronic device through the communication link. According to one embodiment, the method of operation of an electronic device may include the operation of transmitting a plurality of reference signals corresponding to a TDD frequency band, including at least one reference signal, to an external electronic device through at least two antennas.

[0015] According to one embodiment, a non-transient computer-readable storage medium (or computer program product) storing one or more programs may be described. According to one embodiment, the one or more programs may include instructions that, when executed by at least one processor of an electronic device, the electronic device establishes a communication link using a time division duplex (TDD) frequency band through at least two antennas among a plurality of antennas included in the electronic device for transmitting a signal to an external electronic device, and when it is determined that a specified switching condition is satisfied based on the uplink transmission state of the electronic device while communicating with the external electronic device through the communication link, identify at least one reference signal among a plurality of reference signals corresponding to the frequency band for adjusting transmission power to induce a switching of the transmission mode of the electronic device at the external electronic device, and transmit a plurality of reference signals corresponding to the frequency band including at least one reference signal through at least two antennas to the external electronic device.

[0017] According to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, when an electronic device having a plurality of antennas uses an uplink transmission switching function, it can transmit an uplink signal (or data) using an uplink transmission mode of the TDD method preferred by the electronic device by updating the transmission power of an uplink reference signal corresponding to the TDD method by considering at least one of an uplink transmission state (e.g., retransmission rate or error rate) to an external electronic device (e.g., base station) or a type of uplink data.

[0018] In addition, various effects identified directly or indirectly through this document may be provided.

For example, the processor (200) may be substantially identical to the processor (120) of FIG. 1 (e.g., an application processor and / or a communication processor) or may be included in the processor (120). The communication circuit (210) may be substantially identical to the wireless communication module (192) of FIG. 1 or may be included in the wireless communication module (192). The plurality of antennas (220) may be substantially identical to the antenna module (197) of FIG. 1 or may be included in the antenna module (197). The memory (230) may be substantially identical to the memory (130) of FIG. 1 or may be included in the memory (130). For example, the processor (200) may be operatively, functionally, and / or electrically connected to the communication circuit (210), antenna (220), and / or memory (230). For example, the processor (200) may include at least one processor including a processing circuit. For example, the plurality of antennas (220) may include a first antenna (221) and a second antenna (223), but are not limited thereto, and may include three or more antennas.

[0054] According to one embodiment, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to establish a communication link in a time division duplex (TDD) frequency band with an external electronic device (300) through a plurality of antennas (220). For example, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to establish a communication link in a TDD frequency band (e.g., a second frequency band) with an external electronic device (300) through a first antenna (221) and a second antenna (223). For example, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to establish a communication link with an external electronic device (e.g., the external electronic device (300) of FIG. 3) through a first frequency band for wireless communication in a frequency division duplex (FDD) manner and a second frequency band for wireless communication in a TDD manner in a stand-alone (SA) environment. When the processor (200) determines that it is using uplink transmission switching based on scheduling information related to an uplink reference signal provided by an external electronic device (300), it can control the communication circuit (210) to establish (or additionally establish) a communication link in the frequency band of the TDD method with the external electronic device (300) through a plurality of antennas (220). For example, the external electronic device (300) may include a gNB (next generation node B), which is a network entity (or physical network device, base station) connected (or registered) to the electronic device (101) to transmit and / or receive a signal (or data) via cellular communication.

[0055] According to one embodiment, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to communicate with an external electronic device (300) through a communication link corresponding to a frequency band in the TDD method using the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (223). For example, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit an uplink reference signal corresponding to a frequency band in the TDD method through the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (223) at a specified period (e.g., period or interval) based on scheduling information related to an uplink reference signal provided by the external electronic device (300). For example, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit a first uplink reference signal (400) corresponding to a frequency band in a TDD manner through a first antenna (221) (e.g., a first port) and to transmit a second uplink reference signal (410) corresponding to a frequency band in a TDD manner through a second antenna (223) (e.g., a second port) when the port associated with the uplink reference signal is set to a first value (e.g., "ports 2") in the scheduling information associated with the uplink reference signal. For example, the scheduling information associated with the uplink reference signal may be received from an external electronic device (300) by being included in an RRC message (e.g., RRC (radio resource control) reconfiguration).

[0056] For example, the processor (200) can determine the TDD transmission mode from a control signal received from an external electronic device (300). For example, the control signal may include a DCI related to the uplink (e.g., UL(uplink)-DCI(downlink control indicator)). For example, the processor (200) may determine that the TDD transmission mode is set to a first transmission mode if the control signal received from the external electronic device (300) contains scheduling information related to uplink transmission set to a specified second value (e.g., "layer 2" and "2Tx"). For example, the first transmission mode may include a spatial multiplex mode in which the electronic device (101) transmits different signals (or data) of a second frequency band through a first antenna (221) and a second antenna (223) based on uplink transmission switching during a specified first time. For example, the specified second value may be included as an index corresponding to the specified second value in a specified format (e.g., format 0_1) of the DCI associated with the uplink (e.g., UL-DCI). For example, "2Tx" may indicate a state in which the electronic device (101) transmits an uplink signal (or data) using two antennas (e.g., a first antenna (221) and a second antenna (223)). "Layer 2" may indicate a state in which the electronic device (101) transmits a signal (or data) through two logical spaces (or layers) via a plurality of antennas (200) (e.g., a first antenna (221) and a second antenna (223)).

[0057] For example, the processor (200) may determine that the transmission mode of the TDD method is set to a second transmission mode if the control signal received from the external electronic device (300) contains scheduling information related to uplink transmission set to a specified third value (e.g., "layer 1" and "2Tx"). For example, the second transmission mode may include a transmit diversity mode in which the electronic device (101) transmits the same signal (or data) of a second frequency band through the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (223) based on uplink transmission switching during a specified first time. For example, the specified third value may be included as an index corresponding to the specified third value in a specified format (e.g., format 0_1) of the DCI (e.g., UL-DCI) associated with the uplink. For example, "layer 1" may indicate a state in which an electronic device (101) transmits a signal (or data) through a logical single space (or layer) via a plurality of antennas (200) (e.g., a first antenna (221) and a second antenna (223)).

[0058] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the TDD transmission mode according to the uplink transmission switching is set to a third transmission mode when the control signal received from the external electronic device (300) does not include scheduling information related to uplink transmission. For example, the third transmission mode may include a transmission mode in which the electronic device (101) does not transmit a signal (or data) through the frequency band of the TDD method.

[0059] For example, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit an uplink signal (or data) based on a TDD transmission mode. For example, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit an uplink signal (or data) of a TDD frequency band (e.g., a second frequency band) through the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (223) when the TDD transmission mode is set to a first transmission mode or a second transmission mode. For example, the communication circuit (210) can transmit different signals (or data) to an external electronic device (300) through the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (223) based on the first transmission mode. For example, the communication circuit (210) can transmit the same signal (or data) to an external electronic device (300) through the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (223) based on a second transmission mode.

[0060] For example, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to limit the transmission of uplink signals (or data) of the TDD frequency band (e.g., second frequency band) when the TDD transmission mode is set to the third transmission mode.

[0061] According to one embodiment, the processor (200) can check whether specified conditions related to the updating of a reference signal are satisfied while communicating with an external electronic device (300) through a communication link corresponding to a frequency band of the TDD method. For example, the processor (200) can check whether the uplink transmission state to the external electronic device (300) satisfies a specified first switching condition. For example, the uplink transmission state may include at least one of a retransmission rate (e.g., RLC (radio link control) retransmission rate) or an error rate (e.g., BLER (block error rate)) from the electronic device (101) to the external electronic device (300).

[0062] For example, the processor (200) can determine whether a specified first switching condition is satisfied based on the retransmission rate of the frequency band of the TDD method. For example, a state satisfying the specified first switching condition may include a state in which the retransmission rate of the frequency band of the TDD method exceeds a specified reference retransmission rate. For example, a state not satisfying the specified first switching condition may include a state in which the retransmission rate of the frequency band of the TDD method is less than or equal to a specified reference retransmission rate. For example, the specified reference retransmission rate may include a reference value set to determine whether the uplink reference signal corresponding to the frequency band of the TDD method is updated. For example, the retransmission rate of the frequency band of the TDD method may include the ratio of retransmissions that occurred among the signals transmitted to an external electronic device (300) through the frequency band of the TDD method during a specified second time (e.g., about 500 msec). For example, the retransmission rate of the frequency band of the TDD method may include the ratio of the number of times a signal is transmitted through the frequency band of the TDD method and the number of times a signal is retransmitted during a specified second time. For example, the specified second time may include a time interval set to check the retransmission rate of the frequency band of the TDD method.

[0063] For example, the processor (200) can determine whether a specified first switching condition is satisfied based on the error rate of the frequency band of the TDD method. For example, a state satisfying the specified first switching condition may include a state in which the error rate of the frequency band of the TDD method exceeds a specified reference error rate. For example, a state not satisfying the specified first switching condition may include a state in which the error rate of the frequency band of the TDD method is less than or equal to a specified reference error rate. For example, the specified reference error rate may include a reference value set to determine whether the uplink reference signal corresponding to the frequency band of the TDD method is updated. For example, the error rate of the frequency band of the TDD method may include the ratio of the number of signals transmitted through the frequency band of the TDD method to the number of signals that failed to be transmitted during a specified third time (e.g., about 500 msec). For example, the specified third time may include a time interval set to check the error rate of the frequency band of the TDD method.

[0064] For example, the processor (200) can determine whether a specified first switching condition is satisfied based on the retransmission rate of the frequency band of the TDD method and the error rate of the frequency band of the TDD method. For example, a state satisfying the specified first switching condition may include a state in which the retransmission rate of the frequency band of the TDD method exceeds a specified reference retransmission rate and the error rate of the frequency band of the TDD method exceeds a specified reference error rate. For example, a state not satisfying the specified first switching condition may include a state in which the retransmission rate of the frequency band of the TDD method is less than or equal to a specified reference retransmission rate or the error rate of the frequency band of the TDD method is less than or equal to a specified reference error rate.

[0065] For example, the processor (200) can determine whether a specified third switching condition is satisfied based on the type (or characteristics) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300). For example, the type of the uplink signal (or data) may include the performance required by the uplink signal (or data) transmitted by the electronic device (101) to the external electronic device (300) (e.g., throughput, delay, or reliability). For example, a state satisfying the specified third switching condition may include a state in which the uplink signal (or data) is of a type that is relatively sensitive to delay, but the transmission mode of the TDD method set by the external electronic device (300) is a mode that is not relatively sensitive to delay (e.g., a first transmission mode). For example, a state that does not satisfy a specified third switching condition may include a state in which the uplink signal (or data) is of a type that is relatively sensitive to delay, and the transmission mode of the TDD method set by the external electronic device (300) is a mode that is relatively sensitive to delay (e.g., a second transmission mode or a third mode).

[0066] According to one embodiment, the processor (200) may identify at least one uplink reference signal for updating (or adjusting) the transmission power among a plurality of uplink reference signals corresponding to the frequency band of the TDD method when a specified condition (e.g., a specified first switching condition or a specified third switching condition) related to updating the reference signal is satisfied while communicating with an external electronic device (300) through a communication link corresponding to the frequency band of the TDD method. For example, updating (or adjusting) the transmission power may include a series of operations to increase or decrease the transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) to induce the external electronic device (300) to assign a transmission mode required by the electronic device (101).

[0067] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the first transmission mode is relatively suitable for the second transmission mode, it may adjust (e.g., update) the transmission power of some (e.g., any one) of the uplink reference signals associated with the frequency band of the TDD method to induce the allocation of the second transmission mode by the external electronic device (300). For example, the uplink reference signal whose transmission power is updated (or adjusted) may include any one of the first uplink reference signal transmitted through the first antenna (221) and the second uplink reference signal transmitted through the second antenna (223). For example, the uplink reference signal for which the transmission power is updated (or regulated) may include the uplink reference signal transmitted through the antenna with relatively lower reception performance among the first uplink reference signal transmitted through the first antenna (221) and the second uplink reference signal transmitted through the second antenna (223). For example, reception performance is the quality of a signal received by an electronic device from an external electronic device (300) through a specific antenna, and may include at least one of RSSI (received signal strength indicator), RSRQ (reference signal receive quality), RSRP (reference signal receive power), or SINR (signal to interference and noise ratio). For example, the updating (or regulated) of the transmission power may include a series of operations to lower the transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) to induce the allocation of a second transmission mode required by the electronic device (101) by the external electronic device (300).

[0068] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the first transmission mode is relatively suitable for the third transmission mode, it may update (or adjust) the transmission power of uplink reference signals associated with the frequency band of the TDD method to induce the external electronic device (300) to assign the third transmission mode. For example, updating (or adjusting) the transmission power may include a series of operations to lower the transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) to induce the external electronic device (300) to assign the third transmission mode required by the electronic device (101).

[0069] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the second transmission mode is relatively suitable for the third transmission mode, it may update (or adjust) the transmission power of uplink reference signals associated with the frequency band of the TDD method to induce the external electronic device (300) to assign the third transmission mode. For example, updating (or adjusting) the transmission power may include a series of operations to lower the transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) to induce the external electronic device (300) to assign the third transmission mode required by the electronic device (101).

[0070] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the second transmission mode is relatively suitable for the first transmission mode, it may update (or adjust) the transmission power of uplink reference signals associated with the frequency band of the TDD method to induce the external electronic device (300) to assign the first transmission mode. For example, updating (or adjusting) the transmission power may include a series of operations to increase the transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) to induce the external electronic device (300) to assign the first transmission mode required by the electronic device (101).

[0071] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the third transmission mode is relatively suitable for the second transmission mode, it may update (or adjust) the transmission power of some (e.g., any one) of the uplink reference signals associated with the frequency band of the TDD method to induce the allocation of the second transmission mode by the external electronic device (300). For example, updating (or adjusting) the transmission power may include a series of operations to increase the transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) to induce the allocation of the second transmission mode required by the electronic device (101) by the external electronic device (300).

[0072] According to one embodiment, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit uplink reference signals associated with the frequency band of the TDD method. For example, when the processor (200) updates (or adjusts) the transmission power of any one of the uplink reference signals associated with the frequency band of the TDD method, the communication circuit (210) can control the uplink reference signal with updated (or adjusted) transmission power and the uplink reference signal with unupdated (or unadjusted) transmission power through a plurality of antennas (220) (or a plurality of ports). For example, the uplink reference signal with unupdated (or unadjusted) transmission power may include an uplink reference signal transmitted with a transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213).

[0073] For example, when the processor (200) updates the transmission power of uplink reference signals associated with the frequency band in a TDD manner, it can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit uplink reference signals with updated (or adjusted) transmission power through a plurality of antennas (220) (or a plurality of ports).

[0074] According to one embodiment, when the processor (200) transmits uplink reference signals related to the frequency band in a TDD manner, it can control the communication circuit (210) to perform communication with the external electronic device (300) through a communication link corresponding to the frequency band in a TDD manner based on the transmission mode of the TDD manner identified based on the control signal received from the external electronic device (300).

[0075] According to one embodiment, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to establish a communication link with an external electronic device (300) through a first frequency band and a second frequency band. For example, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to establish a communication link with an external electronic device (e.g., the external electronic device (300) of FIG. 3) through a first frequency band for wireless communication in a frequency division duplex (FDD) manner and a second frequency band for wireless communication in a time division duplex (TDD) manner in a stand-alone (SA) environment.

[0076] According to one embodiment, if the processor (200) determines that uplink transmission switching is being used, it may control the communication circuit (210) to transmit an uplink reference signal corresponding to a second frequency band through the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (222). For example, if the electronic device (101) supports uplink transmission switching, the processor (200) may control the communication circuit (210) to transmit information related to the support of uplink transmission switching to an external electronic device (300). For example, the information related to the support of uplink transmission switching may include information related to the frequency band combinations in which the electronic device (101) can perform uplink transmission switching. For example, the information related to the support of uplink transmission switching may be included in the capability information (e.g., UE (user equipment) capability) of the electronic device (101) and transmitted to the external electronic device (300) when performing a radio capability exchange between the electronic device (101) and the external electronic device (300). For example, the uplink reference signal may include a codebook sounding reference signal (codebook SRS) that the electronic device (101) transmits to an external electronic device (300) via the uplink.

[0077] For example, if the processor (200) determines to use uplink transmission switching based on scheduling information related to an uplink reference signal provided by an external electronic device (300), it can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit an uplink reference signal corresponding to a second frequency band through the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (223) at a specified period (e.g., period or interval) based on scheduling information related to the uplink reference signal. For example, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit a first uplink reference signal (400) corresponding to a second frequency band through a first antenna (221) (e.g., a first port) and transmit a second uplink reference signal (410) corresponding to a second frequency band through a second antenna (223) (e.g., a second port) when the port associated with the uplink reference signal is set to a first value (e.g., "ports 2") in the scheduling information associated with the uplink reference signal. For example, the scheduling information associated with the uplink reference signal may be received from an external electronic device (300) and included in an RRC message (e.g., RRC (radio resource control) reconfiguration).

[0078] According to one embodiment, the processor (200) can identify the transmission mode of the TDD method in a control signal received from an external electronic device (300). For example, the control signal may include a DCI associated with the uplink (e.g., UL(uplink)-DCI(downlink control indicator)).

[0079] For example, an external electronic device (300) can estimate a channel with the electronic device (101) using at least one uplink reference signal received from the electronic device (101). For example, if the external electronic device (300) determines, based on the channel with the electronic device (101), that the electronic device (101) is located within a specified first distance (310), it can transmit scheduling information related to an uplink transmission switch configured to operate the electronic device (101) in a first transmission mode of the TDD method to the electronic device (101). For example, the first transmission mode may include a spatial multiplex mode in which the electronic device (101) transmits different signals (or data) of a second frequency band through a first antenna (221) and a second antenna (223) based on an uplink transmission switch during a specified first time. For example, scheduling related to uplink transmission switching may include information related to at least one of the number of layers related to the transmission of uplink signals (or data), TPMI (transmit precoding matrix indicator), resource block (RB), or MCS (modulation and coding scheme).

[0080] For example, if the external electronic device (300) determines, based on the channel with the electronic device (101), that the electronic device (101) is located beyond a designated first distance (310) and within a designated second distance (320), the external electronic device (300) may transmit scheduling information related to an uplink transmission switch configured to operate the electronic device (101) in a second transmission mode of the TDD method to the electronic device (101). For example, the second transmission mode may include a transmit diversity mode in which the electronic device (101) transmits the same signal (or data) of a second frequency band through the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (223) based on the uplink transmission switch during a designated first time.

[0081] For example, if the external electronic device (300) determines, based on the channel with the electronic device (101), that the electronic device (101) is located beyond a designated second distance (320) and within a designated third distance (330), the external electronic device (300) may transmit scheduling information related to an uplink transmission switch configured to operate the electronic device (101) in a third transmission mode of the TDD method to the electronic device (101). For example, the third transmission mode may include a transmission mode in which the electronic device (101) does not transmit a signal (or data) through a second frequency band for a designated first time.

[0082] For example, if the processor (200) contains scheduling information related to an uplink transmission switch set to a second value (e.g., "layer 2" and "2Tx") specified in a control signal received from an external electronic device (300), it may determine that the transmission mode of the TDD method according to the uplink transmission switch is set to the first transmission mode. For example, the specified second value may be included as an index corresponding to the second value specified in a specified format (e.g., format 0_1) of a DCI (e.g., UL-DCI) related to the uplink. For example, "2Tx" may indicate a state in which the electronic device (101) transmits an uplink signal (or data) using two antennas (e.g., a first antenna (221) and a second antenna (223)). "Layer 2" may indicate a state in which an electronic device (101) transmits a signal (or data) through two logical spaces (or layers) via a plurality of antennas (e.g., a first antenna (221) and a second antenna (223)).

[0083] For example, if the processor (200) contains scheduling information related to an uplink transmission switch set to a third value (e.g., "layer 1" and "2Tx") specified in a control signal received from an external electronic device (300), it may determine that the transmission mode of the TDD method according to the uplink transmission switch is set to a second transmission mode. For example, the specified third value may be included as an index corresponding to the third value specified in a specified format (e.g., format 0_1) of a DCI (e.g., UL-DCI) related to the uplink. For example, "layer 1" may indicate a state in which the electronic device (101) transmits a signal (or data) through a logical single space (or layer) through a plurality of antennas (e.g., a first antenna (221) and a second antenna (223)).

[0084] For example, if the processor (200) does not include scheduling information related to uplink transmission switching in the control signal received from the external electronic device (300), it can determine that the transmission mode of the TDD method according to the uplink transmission switching is set to the third transmission mode.

[0085] According to one embodiment, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit an uplink signal (or data) based on a TDD transmission mode. For example, if the TDD transmission mode for uplink transmission switching is set to a first transmission mode or a second transmission mode, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit an uplink signal (or data) of a second frequency band through the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (223) according to the uplink transmission switching for a specified first time. The processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to limit the transmission of an uplink signal (or data) of a first frequency band for a specified first time based on the use of the uplink transmission switching. For example, the communication circuit (210) may transmit different signals (or data) to an external electronic device (300) through the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (223) for a specified first time based on a first transmission mode. For example, the communication circuit (210) may transmit the same signal (or data) to the external electronic device (300) through the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (223) for a specified first time based on a second transmission mode. For example, the specified first time may include a time interval designated for applying an uplink transmission switch at the external electronic device (300). For example, the electronic device (101) can improve the uplink throughput or expand the uplink service area (e.g., coverage) by performing uplink transmission in a second frequency band (e.g., TDD method) with a relatively wider frequency bandwidth (e.g., about 80 MHz) than uplink transmission in a first frequency band (e.g., FDD method) with a relatively narrow frequency bandwidth (e.g., about 10 MHz) during a specified first time based on uplink transmission switching.

[0086] For example, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to restrict the transmission of an uplink signal (or data) of a second frequency band for a specified first time when the transmission mode of the TDD method for uplink transmission switching is set to a third transmission mode. For example, an uplink signal (or data) of a first frequency band may be transmitted or restricted from transmission for a specified first time based on the third transmission mode.

[0087] For example, when the processor (200) uses uplink transmission switching, it can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit an uplink signal (or data) of a first frequency band through the first antenna (221) for the remainder of time excluding a designated first time. When the processor (200) uses uplink transmission switching, it can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit a signal (or data) of a second frequency band in a TDD manner through the second antenna (223) for the remainder of time excluding a designated first time.

[0088] According to one embodiment, the processor (200) can check whether specified conditions related to the updating of a reference signal are satisfied while communicating with an external electronic device (300) through a communication link established through a first frequency band and a second frequency band. For example, if the processor (200) uses antenna transmission switching, it can check whether the uplink transmission state to the external electronic device (300) satisfies specified second switching conditions. For example, the uplink transmission state may include at least one of a retransmission rate (e.g., RLC (radio link control) retransmission rate) or an error rate (e.g., BLER (block error rate)) from the electronic device (101) to the external electronic device (300).

[0089] For example, the processor (200) can determine whether a specified second switching condition is satisfied based on the retransmission rate of the second frequency band and the retransmission rate of the first frequency band. For example, a state satisfying the specified second switching condition may include a state in which the retransmission rate of the second frequency band exceeds a first reference retransmission rate set based on the retransmission rate of the first frequency band. For example, a state not satisfying the specified second switching condition may include a state in which the retransmission rate of the second frequency band is less than or equal to a first reference retransmission rate set based on the retransmission rate of the first frequency band. For example, the first reference retransmission rate may be set based on the sum of the retransmission rate of the first frequency band and a first reference value. For example, the first reference value may be set to a value of a specified first ratio (e.g., about 5%) of the retransmission rate of the first frequency band. For example, the retransmission rate of the first frequency band may include the ratio of retransmissions that occurred among signals transmitted to the external electronic device (300) through the first frequency band during a specified second time (e.g., about 500 msec). For example, the retransmission rate of the second frequency band may include the ratio of retransmissions that occurred among signals transmitted to the external electronic device (300) through the second frequency band during a specified second time. For example, the retransmission rate of the first frequency band may include the ratio of the number of times a signal was transmitted through the first frequency band and the number of times a signal was retransmitted during a specified second time. For example, the retransmission rate of the second frequency band may include the ratio of the number of times a signal was transmitted through the second frequency band and the number of times a signal was retransmitted during a specified second time. For example, the specified second time may include a time interval set to check the retransmission rates of the first frequency band and the second frequency band.

[0090] For example, the processor (200) can determine whether a specified second transition condition is satisfied based on the error rate of the second frequency band and the error rate of the first frequency band. For example, a state satisfying the specified second transition condition may include a state in which the error rate of the second frequency band exceeds a first reference error rate set based on the error rate of the first frequency band. For example, a state not satisfying the specified second transition condition may include a state in which the error rate of the second frequency band is less than or equal to a first reference error rate set based on the error rate of the first frequency band. For example, the first reference error rate may be set based on the sum of the error rate of the first frequency band and the second reference value. For example, the second reference value may be set to a value of a specified second ratio (e.g., about 5%) of the error rate of the first frequency band. For example, the error rate of the first frequency band may include the ratio of the number of signals transmitted through the first frequency band to the number of signals that failed to transmit during a specified third time (e.g., about 500 msec). For example, the retransmission rate of the second frequency band may include the ratio of the number of signals transmitted through the second frequency band to the number of signals that failed to transmit during a specified third time. For example, the specified third time may include a time interval set to check the error rates of the first frequency band and the second frequency band.

[0091] For example, the processor (200) can check whether a specified second switching condition is satisfied based on the retransmission rate of the second frequency band, the retransmission rate of the first frequency band, the error rate of the second frequency band, and the error rate of the first frequency band. For example, a state satisfying the specified second switching condition may include a state in which the retransmission rate of the second frequency band exceeds a first reference retransmission rate set based on the retransmission rate of the first frequency band, and the error rate of the second frequency band exceeds a first reference error rate set based on the error rate of the first frequency band. For example, a state not satisfying the specified second switching condition may include a state in which the retransmission rate of the second frequency band is less than or equal to the first reference retransmission rate set based on the retransmission rate of the first frequency band, or the error rate of the second frequency band is less than or equal to the first reference error rate set based on the error rate of the first frequency band.

[0092] For example, when the processor (200) uses antenna transmission switching, it can determine whether a specified third switching condition is satisfied based on the type (or characteristics) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300).

[0093] According to one embodiment, the processor (200) may update (or adjust) at least one uplink reference signal associated with a second frequency band when a specified condition (e.g., a specified first switching condition, a specified second switching condition, or a specified third switching condition) related to updating a reference signal is satisfied while using antenna transmission switching. For example, updating (or adjusting) the transmission power may include a series of operations to increase or decrease the transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) to induce the allocation of a transmission mode required by the electronic device (101) by an external electronic device (300).

[0094] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the first transmission mode is relatively suitable for the second transmission mode, it may update the transmission power of some (e.g., any one) of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band to induce the allocation of the second transmission mode by the external electronic device (300). For example, the uplink reference signal whose transmission power is updated may include any one of the uplink reference signals arbitrarily selected from the first uplink reference signal transmitted through the first antenna (221) and the second uplink reference signal transmitted through the second antenna (223). For example, the uplink reference signal whose transmission power is updated may include the uplink reference signal transmitted through the antenna with relatively lower reception performance among the first uplink reference signal transmitted through the first antenna (221) and the second uplink reference signal transmitted through the second antenna (223). For example, the update of transmission power includes a series of operations to lower the transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) to induce the allocation of a second transmission mode required by the electronic device (101) by the external electronic device (300), and may be calculated as shown in Equation 1 below.

[0095]

[0096] Here, Override PSRS Port i represents the updated transmission power of the uplink reference signal transmitted through the i-th port, and P SRS is the transmission power of the uplink reference signal transmitted through the i-th port calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213), and A may include the update rate of the transmission power of the uplink reference signal transmitted through the i-th port (e.g., about 50%).

[0097] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the first transmission mode is relatively suitable for the third transmission mode, it may update the transmission power of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band to induce the external electronic device (300) to assign the third transmission mode. For example, the updating of the transmission power may include a series of operations to lower the transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) to induce the external electronic device (300) to assign the third transmission mode required by the electronic device (101).

[0098] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the second transmission mode is relatively suitable for the third transmission mode, it may update the transmission power of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band to induce the external electronic device (300) to assign the third transmission mode. For example, the updating (or adjustment) of the transmission power may include a series of operations to lower the transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) to induce the external electronic device (300) to assign the third transmission mode required by the electronic device (101).

[0099] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the second transmission mode is relatively suitable for the first transmission mode, it may update the transmission power of uplink reference signals associated with the frequency band of the TDD method to induce the external electronic device (300) to assign the first transmission mode. For example, the update of transmission power may include a series of operations to increase the transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) to induce the external electronic device (300) to assign the first transmission mode required by the electronic device (101).

[0100] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the third transmission mode is relatively suitable for the second transmission mode, it may update the transmission power of some (e.g., any one) of the uplink reference signals associated with the frequency band of the TDD method to induce the external electronic device (300) to assign the second transmission mode. For example, the update of the transmission power may include a series of operations to increase the transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) to induce the external electronic device (300) to assign the second transmission mode required by the electronic device (101).

[0101] According to one embodiment, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit uplink reference signals associated with a second frequency band. For example, when the processor (200) updates the transmission power of any one of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band, the communication circuit (210) can control the uplink reference signal with updated transmission power and the uplink reference signal with unupdated transmission power to transmit through a plurality of antennas (220) (or a plurality of ports). For example, the uplink reference signal with unupdated transmission power may include an uplink reference signal transmitted with transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213).

[0102] For example, when the processor (200) updates the transmission power of uplink reference signals associated with a second frequency band, it can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit the uplink reference signals with updated transmission power through a plurality of antennas (220) (or a plurality of ports).

[0103] According to one embodiment, when the processor (200) transmits uplink reference signals associated with a second frequency band, it can control the communication circuit (210) to communicate with the external electronic device (300) through a communication link corresponding to the second frequency band for a specified first time based on a transmission mode of the TDD method identified based on a control signal received from the external electronic device (300).

[0104] According to one embodiment, the communication circuit (210) may support wireless communication between an electronic device (101) and an external electronic device (300) (e.g., a base station, the electronic device (102 or 104) of FIG. 1, or a server (108)). For example, the communication circuit (210) may include a radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) and a radio frequency front end (RFFE) that process signals or data transmitted or received via a wireless resource. For example, the wireless communication may include cellular communication (e.g., new radio (NR)).

[0105] According to one embodiment, the memory (230) can store various data used by at least one component of the electronic device (101) (e.g., processor (200) or communication circuit (210)). For example, the memory (230) can store various instructions that can be executed individually or collectively by the processor (200) (e.g., at least one processor).

[0107] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can update at least one reference signal (or transmission power of the reference signal) corresponding to a frequency band of the TDD method to induce a transmission mode required by the electronic device (101). However, the electronic device (101) can update at least one reference signal (or transmission power of the reference signal) corresponding to a frequency band of the FDD method in the same manner to induce a transmission mode required by the electronic device (101).

[0109] According to one embodiment, if the electronic device (101) satisfies a specified switching condition (e.g., a specified first switching condition or a specified second switching condition) related to the update of a reference signal in a first transmission mode, it can determine a transmission mode that is relatively suitable for the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) based on the uplink transmission state to the external electronic device (300). For example, if the processor (200) satisfies a specified switching condition (e.g., a specified first switching condition or a specified second switching condition) related to the update of a reference signal in a first transmission mode, it can determine whether the uplink transmission state to the external electronic device (300) satisfies a specified fourth switching condition.

[0110] For example, the processor (200) can determine whether a specified fourth switching condition is satisfied based on the retransmission rate of the second frequency band and the retransmission rate of the first frequency band. For example, a state satisfying the specified fourth switching condition may include a state in which the retransmission rate of the second frequency band exceeds a second reference retransmission rate set based on the retransmission rate of the first frequency band. For example, a state not satisfying the specified fourth switching condition may include a state in which the retransmission rate of the second frequency band is less than or equal to the second reference retransmission rate set based on the retransmission rate of the first frequency band. For example, the second reference retransmission rate may be set based on the sum of the retransmission rate of the first frequency band and a third reference value. For example, the third reference value may be set to a value of a specified third ratio (e.g., about 10%) of the retransmission rate of the first frequency band.

[0111] For example, the processor (200) can determine whether a specified fourth transition condition is satisfied based on the error rate of the second frequency band and the error rate of the first frequency band. For example, a state satisfying the specified fourth transition condition may include a state in which the error rate of the second frequency band exceeds a second reference error rate set based on the error rate of the first frequency band. For example, a state not satisfying the specified fourth transition condition may include a state in which the error rate of the second frequency band is less than or equal to a second reference error rate set based on the error rate of the first frequency band. For example, the second reference error rate may be set based on the sum of the error rate of the first frequency band and the fourth reference value. For example, the fourth reference value may be set to a value of a specified fourth ratio (e.g., about 10%) of the error rate of the first frequency band.

[0112] For example, the processor (200) can check whether a specified fourth switching condition is satisfied based on the retransmission rate of the second frequency band, the retransmission rate of the first frequency band, the error rate of the second frequency band, and the error rate of the first frequency band. For example, a state satisfying the specified fourth switching condition may include a state in which the retransmission rate of the second frequency band exceeds a second reference retransmission rate set based on the retransmission rate of the first frequency band, and the error rate of the second frequency band exceeds a second reference error rate set based on the error rate of the first frequency band. For example, a state not satisfying the specified fourth switching condition may include a state in which the retransmission rate of the second frequency band is less than or equal to the second reference retransmission rate set based on the retransmission rate of the first frequency band, or the error rate of the second frequency band is less than or equal to the second reference error rate set based on the error rate of the first frequency band.

[0113] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the specified fourth switching condition is not satisfied while satisfying the specified switching condition (e.g., the specified first switching condition or the specified second switching condition) related to the update of the reference signal in the first transmission mode, it may determine that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) is relatively suitable for the second transmission mode.

[0114] For example, if the processor (200) satisfies a specified switching condition (e.g., a specified first switching condition or a specified second switching condition) and a specified fourth switching condition related to the update of a reference signal in a first transmission mode, it may determine that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device (300) is relatively suitable for a third transmission mode.

[0116] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may restrict the transmission of at least one uplink reference signal associated with a second frequency band when it satisfies a specified condition related to the update of a reference signal while using antenna transmission switching. For example, the processor (200) may restrict the transmission of some of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band (e.g., any one reference signal) to induce the allocation of a second transmission mode by an external electronic device (300) when it satisfies a specified first switching condition related to the update of a reference signal in a first transmission mode. For example, the uplink reference signal whose transmission is restricted may include any one uplink reference signal selected from a first uplink reference signal transmitted through a first antenna (221) and a second uplink reference signal transmitted through a second antenna (223). For example, the uplink reference signal that is restricted from transmission may include the uplink reference signal transmitted through the antenna with relatively lower reception performance among the first uplink reference signal transmitted through the first antenna (221) and the second uplink reference signal transmitted through the second antenna (223).

[0117] For example, if the processor (200) satisfies a specified first switching condition related to the update of a reference signal in a first transmission mode, it may restrict the transmission of uplink reference signals associated with a second frequency band to induce the allocation of a third transmission mode by an external electronic device (300).

[0118] For example, if the processor (200) satisfies a specified first switching condition related to the update of a reference signal in a second transmission mode, it may restrict the transmission of uplink reference signals associated with a second frequency band to induce the allocation of a third transmission mode by an external electronic device (300).

[0120] According to one embodiment, an electronic device (e.g., the electronic device (101) of FIG. 1 or FIG. 2) may include a plurality of antennas (e.g., the antenna module (197) of FIG. 1, or the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (223) of FIG. 2), a communication circuit (e.g., the wireless communication module (192) of FIG. 1 or the communication circuit (210) of FIG. 2), at least one processor including a processing circuit (e.g., the processor (120) of FIG. 1 or the processor (200) of FIG. 2), and a memory for storing instructions (e.g., the memory (130) of FIG. 1 or the memory (230) of FIG. 2). According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, the electronic device may establish a communication link with the external electronic device using a time division duplex (TDD) frequency band through at least two antennas for transmitting a signal to the external electronic device (e.g., the external electronic device (300) of FIG. 3) among a plurality of antennas. According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, the electronic device may determine that a specified switching condition is satisfied based on the uplink transmission state of the electronic device while communicating with the external electronic device through the communication link, and may check at least one reference signal among a plurality of reference signals corresponding to the TDD frequency band to regulate the transmission power to induce a switching of the transmission mode of the electronic device at the external electronic device. According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, the electronic device may transmit a plurality of reference signals corresponding to the TDD frequency band, including at least one reference signal, to the external electronic device through at least two antennas.

[0121] According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, the electronic device may determine whether a specified switching condition is satisfied based on at least one of a retransmission rate corresponding to a frequency band of the TDD method or an error rate of the frequency band of the TDD method. According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, if the electronic device determines that the specified switching condition is satisfied, it may check at least one reference signal for adjusting transmission power among a plurality of reference signals corresponding to a frequency band of the TDD method.

[0122] According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, the electronic device may determine the transmission power of a plurality of reference signals corresponding to the frequency band of the TDD method. According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, the electronic device may update the transmission power of a first reference signal if it determines to adjust the transmission power of a first reference signal among the plurality of reference signals. According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, the electronic device may transmit a first reference signal based on the updated transmission power and transmit a second reference signal among the plurality of reference signals based on the determined transmission power.

[0123] According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, the electronic device may determine the transmission power of a plurality of reference signals corresponding to the frequency band of the TDD method. According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, the electronic device may update the transmission power of a first reference signal if it determines to adjust the transmission power of a first reference signal among the plurality of reference signals. According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, the electronic device may limit the transmission of the first reference signal based on the updated transmission power and transmit a second reference signal among the plurality of reference signals based on the determined transmission power.

[0124] According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, the electronic device may determine the transmission power of a plurality of reference signals corresponding to the frequency band of the TDD method. According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, the electronic device may transmit a plurality of reference signals to an external electronic device based on the updated transmission power.

[0125] According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, the electronic device may determine the transmission power of a plurality of reference signals corresponding to the frequency band of the TDD method. According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, the electronic device may update the transmission power of a plurality of reference signals if it determines to adjust the transmission power of the plurality of reference signals. According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, the electronic device may limit the transmission of a plurality of reference signals based on the updated transmission power.

[0126] According to one embodiment, when instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, the electronic device may establish a communication link with an external electronic device using a first frequency band of the frequency division duplex (FDD) method and a second frequency band of the time division duplex (TDD) method. According to one embodiment, when instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, if the electronic device determines that it is using uplink transmission switching based on a control signal received from an external electronic device, it may establish (or additionally establish) a communication link with an external electronic device using a second frequency band through at least two antennas.

[0127] According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, the electronic device may determine whether a specified switching condition is satisfied based on a reference value set using a retransmission rate corresponding to a first frequency band during a specified time while using uplink transmission switching and a retransmission rate corresponding to a second frequency band. [0128] According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, the electronic device may determine whether a specified switching condition is satisfied based on a reference value set using an error rate corresponding to a first frequency band during a specified time while using uplink transmission switching and an error rate corresponding to a second frequency band. According to one embodiment, when the instructions are executed individually or collectively by at least one processor, if the electronic device determines that the specified switching condition is satisfied, it may check at least one reference signal for adjusting transmission power among a plurality of reference signals corresponding to a second frequency band.

[0130] FIG. 5a is a flowchart (500) for transmitting an uplink reference signal based on the uplink transmission status with an external electronic device in an electronic device according to one embodiment. In the following embodiments, each operation may be performed sequentially, but is not necessarily performed sequentially. For example, the order of each operation may be changed, and at least two operations may be performed in parallel. For example, the electronic device of FIG. 5a may be the electronic device (101) of FIG. 1 or FIG. 2.

[0131] According to one embodiment with reference to FIG. 5a, an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101) of FIG. 1 or FIG. 2) or a processor (e.g., processor (120) of FIG. 1 or processor (200) of FIG. 2) may, in operation 501, establish a communication link in a time division duplex (TDD) frequency band with an external electronic device (300) through a plurality of antennas (220). For example, the processor (200) may control a communication circuit (210) to establish a communication link in a TDD frequency band (e.g., a second frequency band) with the external electronic device (300) through a first antenna (221) and a second antenna (223). For example, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to establish (or additionally establish) a communication link with an external electronic device (e.g., the external electronic device (300) of FIG. 3) through a first frequency band for wireless communication in the frequency division duplex (FDD) method and a second frequency band for wireless communication in the TDD method in a stand-alone (SA) environment. When the processor (200) determines to use uplink transmission switching based on scheduling information related to an uplink reference signal provided by the external electronic device (300), it can control the communication circuit (210) to establish a communication link in the frequency band of the TDD method with the external electronic device (300) through a plurality of antennas (220). For example, the external electronic device (300) may include a gNB (next generation node B), which is a network entity (or physical network device, base station) connected (or registered) to the electronic device (101) to transmit and / or receive a signal (or data) via cellular communication.

[0132] According to one embodiment, an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) may transmit data to an external electronic device (300) via a communication link corresponding to a frequency band in a TDD manner in operation 503. For example, the processor (200) may control a communication circuit (210) to transmit an uplink reference signal corresponding to a frequency band in a TDD manner through a first antenna (221) and a second antenna (223) at a specified period (e.g., period or interval) based on scheduling information related to an uplink reference signal provided by the external electronic device (300).

[0133] For example, the processor (200) can determine the TDD transmission mode from a control signal received from an external electronic device (300).

[0134] For example, the processor (200) may determine that the transmission mode of the TDD method is set to a second transmission mode if the control signal received from the external electronic device (300) contains scheduling information related to uplink transmission set to a specified third value (e.g., "layer 1" and "2Tx").

[0135] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the TDD transmission mode according to the uplink transmission switching is set to a third transmission mode when the control signal received from the external electronic device (300) does not include scheduling information related to uplink transmission. For example, the third transmission mode may include a transmission mode in which the electronic device (101) does not transmit a signal (or data) through the frequency band of the TDD method.

[0136] For example, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit an uplink signal (or data) based on a TDD transmission mode.

[0137] For example, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to limit the transmission of uplink signals (or data) of the TDD frequency band (e.g., second frequency band) when the TDD transmission mode is set to the third transmission mode.

[0138] According to one embodiment, an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) can, in operation 505, check whether the uplink transmission state to the external electronic device (300) satisfies a specified first switching condition related to the update of a reference signal while communicating with the external electronic device (300) through a communication link corresponding to a frequency band of the TDD method. For example, the uplink transmission state may include at least one of a retransmission rate (e.g., RLC (radio link control) retransmission rate) or an error rate (e.g., BLER (block error rate)) from the electronic device (101) to the external electronic device (300).

[0139] For example, the processor (200) can determine whether a specified first switching condition is satisfied based on the retransmission rate of the frequency band of the TDD method.

[0140] For example, the processor (200) can determine whether a specified first switching condition is satisfied based on the error rate of the frequency band of the TDD method.

[0141] For example, the processor (200) can determine whether a specified first switching condition is satisfied based on the retransmission rate of the frequency band of the TDD method and the error rate of the frequency band of the TDD method.

[0142] According to one embodiment, if an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) determines that the uplink transmission state to an external electronic device satisfies a specified first switching condition (e.g., 'Yes' of operation 505), in operation 507, at least one uplink reference signal for updating (or adjusting) the transmission power among a plurality of uplink reference signals corresponding to the frequency band of the TDD method may be identified. For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the first transmission mode is relatively suitable for the second transmission mode, it may determine to adjust (e.g., update) the transmission power of some (e.g., any one) of the uplink reference signals associated with the frequency band of the TDD method in order to induce the allocation of the second transmission mode by the external electronic device (300). For example, the uplink reference signal for which the transmission power is updated (or adjusted) may include any one of the uplink reference signals arbitrarily selected from the first uplink reference signal transmitted through the first antenna (221) and the second uplink reference signal transmitted through the second antenna (223). For example, the uplink reference signal for which the transmission power is updated (or adjusted) may include the uplink reference signal transmitted through the antenna with relatively lower reception performance among the first uplink reference signal transmitted through the first antenna (221) and the second uplink reference signal transmitted through the second antenna (223).For example, the reception performance is the quality of the signal received by the electronic device from an external electronic device (300) through a specific antenna, and may include at least one of RSSI (received signal strength indicator), RSRQ (reference signal receive quality), RSRP (reference signal receive power), or SINR (signal to interference and noise ratio).

[0143] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the first transmission mode is relatively suitable for the third transmission mode, it may determine that the transmission power of the uplink reference signals associated with the frequency band of the TDD method is updated (or adjusted) to induce the allocation of the third transmission mode by the external electronic device (300).

[0144] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the second transmission mode is relatively suitable for the third transmission mode, it may determine that the transmission power of the uplink reference signals associated with the frequency band of the TDD method is updated (or adjusted) to induce the allocation of the third transmission mode by the external electronic device (300).

[0145] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the second transmission mode is relatively suitable for the first transmission mode, it may determine that the transmission power of the uplink reference signals associated with the frequency band of the TDD method is updated (or adjusted) to induce the allocation of the first transmission mode by the external electronic device (300).

[0146] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the third transmission mode is relatively suitable for the second transmission mode, it may determine to update (or adjust) the transmission power of some (e.g., any one) of the uplink reference signals associated with the frequency band of the TDD method in order to induce the allocation of the second transmission mode by the external electronic device (300).

[0147] According to one embodiment, an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) may transmit uplink reference signals associated with a frequency band of the TDD method in operation 509. For example, if the processor (200) determines that the transmission power of any one of the uplink reference signals associated with a frequency band of the TDD method is to be updated (or adjusted), the communication circuit (210) may be controlled to transmit an uplink reference signal with updated (or adjusted) transmission power and an uplink reference signal with unupdated (or unadjusted) transmission power through a plurality of antennas (220) (or a plurality of ports). For example, the updating (or adjusting) of transmission power may include a series of operations to increase or decrease transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) to induce the allocation of a transmission mode required by the electronic device (101) by an external electronic device (300). For example, an uplink reference signal whose transmission power is not updated (or regulated) may include an uplink reference signal transmitted with transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213).

[0148] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the transmission power of uplink reference signals related to the frequency band is updated in a TDD manner, it can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit uplink reference signals with updated (or adjusted) transmission power through a plurality of antennas (220) (or a plurality of ports).

[0149] According to one embodiment, if an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) determines that the uplink transmission state to an external electronic device does not satisfy a specified first switching condition (e.g., 'No' in operation 505), then in operation 509, uplink reference signals associated with a frequency band of the TDD method may be transmitted. For example, the processor (200) may control the communication circuit (210) to transmit a first uplink reference signal corresponding to a frequency band of the TDD method through a first antenna (221) (or a first port) and to transmit a second uplink reference signal corresponding to a frequency band of the TDD method through a second antenna (223) (or a second port). For example, the first uplink reference signal and the second uplink reference signal may be transmitted with transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213).

[0151] According to one embodiment, when an electronic device (101) updates and transmits the transmission power of at least one uplink reference signal among uplink reference signals associated with a frequency band in a TDD manner, it can determine the transmission mode of the TDD manner based on a control signal received from an external electronic device (300). Based on the transmission mode of the TDD manner determined by the control signal received from the external electronic device (300), the electronic device (101) can communicate with the external electronic device (300) through a communication link corresponding to the frequency band in a TDD manner.

[0153] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can update at least one reference signal (or transmission power of the reference signal) corresponding to a frequency band of the TDD method to induce a transmission mode required by the electronic device (101). However, the electronic device (101) can update at least one reference signal (or transmission power of the reference signal) corresponding to a frequency band of the FDD method in the same manner to induce a transmission mode required by the electronic device (101).

[0155] FIG. 5b is a flowchart (510) for transmitting an uplink reference signal based on the uplink transmission status with an external electronic device in an electronic device according to one embodiment. In the following embodiments, each operation may be performed sequentially, but is not necessarily performed sequentially. For example, the order of each operation may be changed, and at least two operations may be performed in parallel. For example, the electronic device of FIG. 5b may be the electronic device (101) of FIG. 1 or FIG. 2.

[0156] According to one embodiment with reference to FIG. 5b, an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101) of FIG. 1 or FIG. 2) or a processor (e.g., processor (120) of FIG. 1 or processor (200) of FIG. 2) may, in operation 511, establish a communication link with an external electronic device through a first frequency band and a second frequency band. For example, the processor (200) may control a communication circuit (210) to establish a communication link with an external electronic device (e.g., external electronic device (300) of FIG. 3) through a first frequency band for wireless communication in a frequency division duplex (FDD) manner and a second frequency band for wireless communication in a time division duplex (TDD) manner in a stand-alone (SA) environment. For example, the external electronic device may include a gNB (next generation node B), which is a network entity (or physical network device, base station) connected (or registered) to the electronic device (101) to transmit and / or receive a signal (or data) via cellular communication. For example, the first frequency band and the second frequency band may be used for uplink CA (carrier aggregation) in an SA environment.

[0157] According to one embodiment, if an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) determines in operation 513 that uplink transmission switching is being used, it may transmit an uplink signal (or data) to an external electronic device through at least one of a first frequency band or a second frequency band. For example, if the electronic device (101) supports uplink transmission switching, the processor (200) may control the communication circuit (210) to transmit information related to the support of uplink transmission switching to an external electronic device. For example, the information related to the support of uplink transmission switching may include information related to the frequency band combinations in which the electronic device (101) can perform uplink transmission switching. For example, the information related to the support of uplink transmission switching may be included in the capability (e.g., UE capability) information of the electronic device (101) and transmitted to the external electronic device when performing a radio capability exchange between the electronic device (101) and the external electronic device. For example, the uplink reference signal may include a codebook sounding reference signal (codebook SRS) that the electronic device (101) transmits to an external electronic device via the uplink.

[0158] For example, if the processor (200) determines to use uplink transmission switching based on scheduling information related to an uplink reference signal provided by an external electronic device (300), it may control the communication circuit (210) to transmit an uplink reference signal corresponding to a second frequency band through the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (223) at a specified period (e.g., period or interval) based on the scheduling information related to the uplink reference signal. For example, if the port related to the uplink reference signal is set to a specified first value (e.g., "ports 2") in the scheduling information related to the uplink reference signal, the processor (200) may control the communication circuit (210) to transmit uplink reference signals corresponding to a second frequency band through the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (223). For example, the scheduling information related to the uplink reference signal may be received from an external electronic device by being included in an RRC message (e.g., RRC reconfiguration).

[0159] For example, if the processor (200) includes scheduling information related to an uplink transmission switch set to a second value (e.g., "layer 2") specified in a control signal received from an external electronic device, it may determine that the transmission mode of the TDD method according to the uplink transmission switch is set to the first transmission mode. Based on the setting of the first transmission mode, the processor (200) may control the communication circuit (210) to transmit different uplink signals (or data) of the second frequency band through the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (223) according to the uplink transmission switch for a specified first time. Based on the use of the uplink transmission switch, the processor (200) may control the communication circuit (210) to limit the transmission of uplink signals (or data) of the first frequency band for a specified first time. For example, the specified second value may be included as an index corresponding to the specified second value in the specified format (e.g., format 0_1) of the DCI associated with the uplink (e.g., UL-DCI).

[0160] For example, if the processor (200) includes scheduling information related to an uplink transmission switch set to a third value (e.g., "layer 1") specified in a control signal received from an external electronic device, it may determine that the transmission mode of the TDD method according to the uplink transmission switch is set to a second transmission mode. Based on the setting of the second transmission mode, the processor (200) may control the communication circuit (210) to transmit the same uplink signal (or data) of the second frequency band through the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (223) according to the uplink transmission switch for a specified first time. Based on the use of the uplink transmission switch, the processor (200) may control the communication circuit (210) to limit the transmission of the uplink signal (or data) of the first frequency band for a specified first time. For example, a specified third value may be included as an index corresponding to a specified third value in a specified format (e.g., format 0_1) of a DCI associated with an uplink (e.g., UL-DCI).

[0161] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the transmission mode of the TDD method according to the uplink transmission switching is set to the third transmission mode when the control signal received from an external electronic device does not include scheduling information related to the uplink transmission switching. The processor (200) may control the communication circuit (210) to restrict the transmission of the uplink signal (or data) of the second frequency band for a specified first time based on the setting to the third transmission mode. For example, the uplink signal (or data) of the first frequency band may be transmitted or restricted from transmission for a specified first time based on the third transmission mode.

[0162] For example, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit an uplink signal (or data) of a first frequency band through the first antenna (221) for the remainder of time excluding a designated first time. The processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit a signal (or data) of a second frequency band in a TDD manner through the second antenna (223) for the remainder of time excluding a designated first time.

[0163] According to one embodiment, an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) may, in operation 515, check whether the uplink transmission state to an external electronic device satisfies a specified second switching condition when using antenna transmission switching. For example, the processor (200) may check whether the uplink transmission state to an external electronic device satisfies a specified second switching condition when using antenna transmission switching while communicating with an external electronic device (300) through a communication link established via a first frequency band and a second frequency band. For example, the uplink transmission state may include at least one of a retransmission rate (e.g., RLC (radio link control) retransmission rate) or an error rate (e.g., BLER (block error rate)) from the electronic device (101) to the external electronic device.

[0164] For example, the processor (200) can determine whether a specified second switching condition is satisfied based on the retransmission rate of the second frequency band and the retransmission rate of the first frequency band. For example, the retransmission rate of the first frequency band may include the ratio of retransmissions that occurred among signals transmitted to an external electronic device through the first frequency band during a specified second time (e.g., about 500 msec). For example, the retransmission rate of the second frequency band may include the ratio of retransmissions that occurred among signals transmitted to an external electronic device through the second frequency band during a specified second time.

[0165] For example, the processor (200) can determine whether a specified second transition condition is satisfied based on the error rate of the second frequency band and the error rate of the first frequency band.

[0166] For example, the processor (200) can check whether a specified second switching condition is satisfied based on the retransmission rate of the second frequency band, the retransmission rate of the first frequency band, the error rate of the second frequency band, and the error rate of the first frequency band.

[0167] According to one embodiment, if an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) determines that the uplink transmission state to an external electronic device satisfies a specified second switching condition (e.g., 'Yes' of operation 515), in operation 517, at least one uplink reference signal associated with a second frequency band may be updated. For example, updating the uplink reference signal may include a series of operations to update (or adjust) the transmission power allocated to transmit the uplink reference signal. For example, updating (or adjusting) the transmission power may include a series of operations to increase or decrease the transmission power allocated (or calculated) based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) to induce the external electronic device (300) to allocate the transmission mode required by the electronic device (101).

[0168] For example, if the processor (200) satisfies a specified second switching condition related to the updating of a reference signal in a first transmission mode, it may update the transmission power of some (e.g., any one) of the uplink reference signals associated with a second frequency band to induce the allocation of a second transmission mode by an external electronic device.

[0169] For example, if the processor (200) satisfies a specified second switching condition related to the updating of a reference signal in a second transmission mode, it may update the transmission power of uplink reference signals associated with a second frequency band to induce the allocation of a third transmission mode by an external electronic device.

[0170] According to one embodiment, an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) may transmit at least one updated uplink reference signal associated with a second frequency band in operation 519. For example, if the processor (200) updates the transmission power of some (e.g., any one) of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band, the communication circuit (210) may control the uplink reference signal with updated transmission power and the uplink reference signal with unupdated transmission power to transmit through a plurality of antennas (220) (or a plurality of ports). For example, the uplink reference signal with unupdated transmission power may include an uplink reference signal transmitted with transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213).

[0171] For example, when the processor (200) updates the transmission power of uplink reference signals associated with a second frequency band, it can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit the uplink reference signals with updated transmission power through a plurality of antennas (220) (or a plurality of ports).

[0172] According to one embodiment, if an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) determines that the uplink transmission state to an external electronic device does not satisfy a specified second switching condition (e.g., 'No' in operation 515), then in operation 519, uplink reference signals associated with a second frequency band may be transmitted. For example, the processor (200) may control the communication circuit (210) to transmit a first uplink reference signal through a first antenna (221) (or a first port) and to transmit a second uplink reference signal through a second antenna (223) (or a second port). For example, the first uplink reference signal and the second uplink reference signal may be transmitted with transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213).

[0174] According to one embodiment, if the electronic device (101) satisfies a specified second switching condition related to the update of a reference signal in a first transmission mode, it can determine a transmission mode to induce allocation by an external electronic device (300). For example, if the processor (200) satisfies a specified second switching condition related to the update of a reference signal in a first transmission mode, it can determine whether the uplink transmission state to the external electronic device (300) satisfies a specified fourth switching condition.

[0175] For example, the processor (200) can determine whether a specified fourth switching condition is satisfied based on the retransmission rate of the second frequency band and the retransmission rate of the first frequency band.

[0176] For example, the processor (200) can determine whether a specified fourth transition condition is satisfied based on the error rate of the second frequency band and the error rate of the first frequency band.

[0177] For example, the processor (200) can check whether a specified fourth switching condition is satisfied based on the retransmission rate of the second frequency band, the retransmission rate of the first frequency band, the error rate of the second frequency band, and the error rate of the first frequency band.

[0178] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the specified fourth switching condition is not satisfied while the specified second switching condition related to the update of the reference signal in the first transmission mode is satisfied, it may determine that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) is relatively suitable for the second transmission mode. The processor (200) may update the transmission power of some (e.g., any one) of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band to induce the allocation of the second transmission mode by the external electronic device.

[0179] For example, if the processor (200) satisfies the specified second switching condition and the specified fourth switching condition related to the update of the reference signal in the first transmission mode, it may determine that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) is relatively suitable for the third transmission mode. The processor (200) may update the transmission power of the uplink reference signals related to the second frequency band to induce the allocation of the third transmission mode by the external electronic device.

[0181] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may restrict the transmission of at least one uplink reference signal associated with a second frequency band when it satisfies a specified second switching condition related to the updating of a reference signal while using antenna transmission switching. For example, the processor (200) may restrict the transmission of some of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band to induce the allocation of a second transmission mode by an external electronic device when it satisfies a specified second switching condition related to the updating of a reference signal in a first transmission mode. For example, the uplink reference signal whose transmission is restricted may include any one of the uplink reference signals arbitrarily selected from a first uplink reference signal transmitted through a first antenna (221) and a second uplink reference signal transmitted through a second antenna (223). For example, the uplink reference signal that is restricted from transmission may include the uplink reference signal of the antenna with relatively lower reception performance among the first uplink reference signal transmitted through the first antenna (221) and the second uplink reference signal transmitted through the second antenna (223).

[0182] For example, if the processor (200) satisfies a specified second switching condition related to the update of a reference signal in a first transmission mode, it may restrict the transmission of uplink reference signals associated with a second frequency band to induce the allocation of a third transmission mode by an external electronic device.

[0183] For example, if the processor (200) satisfies a specified second switching condition related to the update of a reference signal in a second transmission mode, it may restrict the transmission of uplink reference signals associated with a second frequency band to induce the allocation of a third transmission mode by an external electronic device.

[0185] FIG. 6 is a flowchart (600) for updating the transmission power of an uplink reference signal based on the uplink transmission status with an external electronic device in an electronic device according to one embodiment. For example, at least part of FIG. 6 may include detailed operations of operations 515 and 517 of FIG. 5b. In the following embodiments, each operation may be performed sequentially, but is not necessarily performed sequentially. For example, the order of each operation may be changed, and at least two operations may be performed in parallel. For example, the electronic device of FIG. 6 may be the electronic device (101) of FIG. 1 or FIG. 2.

[0186] According to one embodiment with reference to FIG. 6, when an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101) of FIG. 1 or FIG. 2) or a processor (e.g., processor (120) of FIG. 1 or processor (200) of FIG. 2) transmits an uplink signal (or data) to an external electronic device through at least one of a first frequency band or a second frequency band based on the use of an uplink transmission switch (e.g., operation 513 of FIG. 5b), in operation 601, the uplink transmission state to the external electronic device may determine whether the uplink transmission state satisfies a specified second switching condition. For example, the uplink transmission state may include at least one of a retransmission rate (e.g., RLC retransmission rate) or an error rate (e.g., BLER) from the electronic device (101) to the external electronic device.

[0187] For example, the processor (200) can check whether a specified second switching condition is satisfied based on the retransmission rate of the second frequency band and the retransmission rate of the first frequency band.

[0188] For example, the processor (200) can determine whether a specified second switching condition is satisfied based on the error rate of the second frequency band and the error rate of the first frequency band. For example, a state satisfying the specified second switching condition may include a state in which the error rate of the second frequency band exceeds a first reference error rate set based on the error rate of the first frequency band. For example, a state not satisfying the specified second switching condition may include a state in which the error rate of the second frequency band is less than or equal to a first reference error rate set based on the error rate of the first frequency band.

[0189] For example, the processor (200) can check whether a specified second switching condition is satisfied based on the retransmission rate of the second frequency band, the retransmission rate of the first frequency band, the error rate of the second frequency band, and the error rate of the first frequency band.

[0190] According to one embodiment, if an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) determines that the uplink transmission state to an external electronic device satisfies a specified second switching condition (e.g., 'Yes' of operation 601), in operation 603, it may check whether the TDD transmission mode is set to the first transmission mode based on the control signal of the external electronic device.

[0191] According to one embodiment, an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) may, in operation 605, update the transmission power corresponding to some of the uplink reference signals to correspond to a second transmission mode when a first transmission mode is set (e.g., 'Yes' of operation 603). For example, if the processor (200) satisfies a specified second switching condition related to updating the reference signal in the first transmission mode, it may update the transmission power of any one of the uplink reference signals associated with a second frequency band to induce the assignment of the second transmission mode by an external electronic device. For example, the uplink reference signal for which the transmission power is updated may include any one of the uplink reference signals arbitrarily selected from a first uplink reference signal transmitted through a first antenna (221) and a second uplink reference signal transmitted through a second antenna (223). For example, the uplink reference signal for which the transmission power is updated may include the uplink reference signal transmitted through the antenna with relatively lower reception performance among the first uplink reference signal transmitted through the first antenna (221) and the second uplink reference signal transmitted through the second antenna (223). For example, the updating of the transmission power corresponding to the uplink reference signal may include a series of operations to reduce the transmission power corresponding to the uplink reference signal, calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213), to a specified update rate (e.g., about 50%).

[0192] For example, when the processor (200) updates the transmission power of any one of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band, it can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit the uplink reference signal with updated transmission power and the uplink reference signal with unupdated transmission power through a plurality of antennas (220) (or a plurality of ports). For example, the uplink reference signal with unupdated transmission power may include an uplink reference signal transmitted with transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213).

[0193] According to one embodiment, an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) may update the transmission power corresponding to the uplink reference signals to correspond to the third transmission mode in operation 607 when the second transmission mode is set (e.g., 'No' in operation 603). For example, if the processor (200) satisfies a specified second switching condition related to updating the reference signal in the second transmission mode, it may update the transmission power of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band to induce the allocation of the third transmission mode by an external electronic device.

[0194] For example, when the processor (200) updates the transmission power of uplink reference signals associated with a second frequency band, it can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit the uplink reference signals with updated transmission power through a plurality of antennas (220) (or a plurality of ports).

[0195] According to one embodiment, an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) may terminate one embodiment of updating the transmission power of the uplink reference signal when it is determined that the uplink transmission state to the external electronic device does not satisfy a specified first switching condition (e.g., 'No' of operation 601). For example, if the processor (200) determines that the uplink transmission state to the external electronic device does not satisfy a specified first switching condition, it may control the communication circuit (210) to transmit the uplink reference signals with a transmission power calculated based on a communication standard. For example, the uplink reference signals may be transmitted at a specified period allocated from the external electronic device.

[0197] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may determine that the updating of the uplink reference signal is restricted when the transmission mode of the TDD method is set to the third transmission mode based on a control signal of an external electronic device. For example, the processor (200) may determine that the updating of the uplink reference signal is restricted when the transmission mode of the TDD method is set to the third transmission mode because there is no transmission mode to change based on the uplink transmission status to the external electronic device.

[0198] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can determine a transmission mode to induce allocation by an external electronic device (300) when the transmission mode of the TDD method is set to a first transmission mode and satisfies a specified second transition condition. For example, the processor (200) can determine whether the uplink transmission state to the external electronic device (300) satisfies a specified fourth transition condition when the first transmission mode satisfies a specified second transition condition related to the update of a reference signal. For example, if the processor (200) determines that the specified fourth transition condition is not satisfied while the first transmission mode satisfies a specified second transition condition related to the update of a reference signal, it can determine that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) is relatively suitable for the second transmission mode. The processor (200) can update the transmission power of some (e.g., any one) of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band to induce the allocation of the second transmission mode by an external electronic device.

[0199] For example, if the processor (200) satisfies the specified second switching condition and the specified fourth switching condition related to the update of the reference signal in the first transmission mode, it may determine that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) is relatively suitable for the third transmission mode. The processor (200) may update the transmission power of the uplink reference signals related to the second frequency band to induce the allocation of the third transmission mode by the external electronic device.

[0201] FIG. 7a is a flowchart (700) for transmitting an uplink reference signal based on the type of uplink data in an electronic device according to one embodiment. In the following embodiments, each operation may be performed sequentially, but is not necessarily performed sequentially. For example, the order of each operation may be changed, and at least two operations may be performed in parallel. For example, the electronic device of FIG. 7a may be the electronic device (101) of FIG. 1 or FIG. 2.

[0202] According to one embodiment with reference to FIG. 7a, an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101) of FIG. 1 or FIG. 2) or a processor (e.g., processor (120) of FIG. 1 or processor (200) of FIG. 2) may, in operation 701, establish a communication link in a time division duplex (TDD) frequency band with an external electronic device (300) through a plurality of antennas (220). For example, the processor (200) may control a communication circuit (210) to establish a communication link in a TDD frequency band (e.g., a second frequency band) with the external electronic device (300) through a first antenna (221) and a second antenna (223). For example, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to establish a communication link with an external electronic device (e.g., the external electronic device (300) of FIG. 3) through a first frequency band for wireless communication in the frequency division duplex (FDD) method and a second frequency band for wireless communication in the TDD method in a stand-alone (SA) environment. When the processor (200) determines to use uplink transmission switching based on scheduling information related to an uplink reference signal provided by the external electronic device (300), it can control the communication circuit (210) to establish (or additionally establish) a communication link in the frequency band of the TDD method with the external electronic device (300) through a plurality of antennas (220).

[0203] According to one embodiment, an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) may transmit data to an external electronic device (300) via a communication link corresponding to a frequency band in a TDD manner in operation 703.

[0204] For example, the processor (200) can determine the TDD transmission mode from a control signal received from an external electronic device (300).

[0205] For example, the processor (200) may determine that the transmission mode of the TDD method is set to a second transmission mode if the control signal received from the external electronic device (300) contains scheduling information related to uplink transmission set to a specified third value (e.g., "layer 1" and "2Tx").

[0206] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the TDD transmission mode according to the uplink transmission switching is set to a third transmission mode when the control signal received from the external electronic device (300) does not include scheduling information related to uplink transmission. For example, the third transmission mode may include a transmission mode in which the electronic device (101) does not transmit a signal (or data) through the frequency band of the TDD method.

[0207] For example, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit an uplink signal (or data) based on a TDD transmission mode.

[0208] For example, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to limit the transmission of uplink signals (or data) of the TDD frequency band (e.g., second frequency band) when the TDD transmission mode is set to the third transmission mode.

[0209] According to one embodiment, an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) may, in operation 705, determine whether a specified third switching condition is satisfied based on the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device through a TDD frequency band. For example, when the processor (200) communicates with an external electronic device (300) through a communication link established through a TDD frequency band, it may determine whether a specified third switching condition is satisfied based on the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device through a TDD frequency band. For example, the type of uplink signal (or data) may include the performance (e.g., throughput, delay, or reliability) required by the uplink signal (or data) transmitted by the electronic device (101) to the external electronic device. For example, a state satisfying a specified third switching condition may include a state in which the uplink signal (or data) is of a type that is relatively sensitive to delay, but the transmission mode of the TDD method set by an external electronic device is a mode that is not relatively sensitive to delay (e.g., a first transmission mode). For example, a state not satisfying a specified third switching condition may include a state in which the uplink signal (or data) is of a type that is relatively sensitive to delay, and the transmission mode of the TDD method set by an external electronic device is a mode that is relatively sensitive to delay (e.g., a second transmission mode or a third mode).

[0210] According to one embodiment, if an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) determines that a specified third switching condition is satisfied based on the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device through a frequency band of the TDD method (e.g., 'Yes' of operation 705), in operation 707, at least one uplink reference signal for updating (or adjusting) the transmission power among a plurality of uplink reference signals corresponding to a frequency band of the TDD method can be identified based on a transmission mode determined to be relatively suitable for the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300). For example, the uplink reference signal whose transmission power is updated (or adjusted) may include any one of the first uplink reference signal transmitted through the first antenna (221) and the second uplink reference signal transmitted through the second antenna (223), which are arbitrarily selected. For example, the uplink reference signal to which the transmission power is updated (or adjusted) may include the uplink reference signal transmitted through the antenna with relatively lower reception performance among the first uplink reference signal transmitted through the first antenna (221) and the second uplink reference signal transmitted through the second antenna (223).For example, the reception performance is the quality of the signal received by the electronic device from an external electronic device (300) through a specific antenna, and may include at least one of RSSI (received signal strength indicator), RSRQ (reference signal receive quality), RSRP (reference signal receive power), or SINR (signal to interference and noise ratio).

[0211] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the first transmission mode is relatively suitable for the third transmission mode, it may determine that the transmission power of the uplink reference signals associated with the frequency band of the TDD method is updated (or adjusted) to induce the allocation of the third transmission mode by the external electronic device (300).

[0212] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the second transmission mode is relatively suitable for the third transmission mode, it may determine that the transmission power of the uplink reference signals associated with the frequency band of the TDD method is updated (or adjusted) to induce the allocation of the third transmission mode by the external electronic device (300).

[0213] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the second transmission mode is relatively suitable for the first transmission mode, it may determine that the transmission power of the uplink reference signals associated with the frequency band of the TDD method is updated (or adjusted) to induce the allocation of the first transmission mode by the external electronic device (300).

[0214] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the third transmission mode is relatively suitable for the second transmission mode, it may determine to update (or adjust) the transmission power of some (e.g., any one) of the uplink reference signals associated with the frequency band of the TDD method in order to induce the allocation of the second transmission mode by the external electronic device (300).

[0215] According to one embodiment, an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) may transmit uplink reference signals associated with a frequency band of the TDD method in operation 709. For example, if the processor (200) determines that it is updating (or adjusting) the transmission power of any one of the uplink reference signals associated with a frequency band of the TDD method, it may control the communication circuit (210) to transmit the uplink reference signal with updated (or adjusted) transmission power and the uplink reference signal with unupdated (or unadjusted) transmission power through a plurality of antennas (220) (or a plurality of ports). For example, updating (or adjusting) the transmission power may include a series of operations to increase or decrease the transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) to induce the allocation of a transmission mode required by the electronic device (101) by an external electronic device (300). For example, an uplink reference signal whose transmission power is not updated (or regulated) may include an uplink reference signal transmitted with transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213).

[0216] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the transmission power of uplink reference signals related to the frequency band is updated in a TDD manner, it can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit uplink reference signals with updated (or adjusted) transmission power through a plurality of antennas (220) (or a plurality of ports).

[0218] According to one embodiment, when an electronic device (101) updates and transmits the transmission power of at least one uplink reference signal among uplink reference signals associated with a frequency band in a TDD manner, it can determine the transmission mode of the TDD manner based on a control signal received from an external electronic device (300). Based on the transmission mode of the TDD manner determined by the control signal received from the external electronic device (300), the electronic device (101) can communicate with the external electronic device (300) through a communication link corresponding to the frequency band in a TDD manner.

[0219] According to one embodiment, if an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) determines that a specified third switching condition is not satisfied based on the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device through a TDD frequency band (e.g., 'No' in operation 705), then in operation 709, uplink reference signals associated with the TDD frequency band may be transmitted. For example, the processor (200) may control the communication circuit (210) to transmit a first uplink reference signal corresponding to the TDD frequency band through the first antenna (221) (or first port) and to transmit a second uplink reference signal corresponding to the TDD frequency band through the second antenna (223) (or second port). For example, the first uplink reference signal and the second uplink reference signal can be transmitted with transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213).

[0221] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may restrict the transmission of at least one uplink reference signal associated with the TDD frequency band when it satisfies a specified third switching condition based on the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device through the TDD frequency band. For example, the processor (200) may identify (or estimate) a transmission mode that is relatively suitable for the type (or characteristics) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) when it satisfies a specified third switching condition related to the update of the reference signal.

[0222] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the first transmission mode is relatively suitable for the second transmission mode, it may restrict the transmission of some (e.g., any one) of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band to induce the allocation of the second transmission mode by the external electronic device. For example, the uplink reference signal whose transmission is restricted may include any one of the uplink reference signals arbitrarily selected from the first uplink reference signal transmitted through the first antenna (221) and the second uplink reference signal transmitted through the second antenna (223). For example, the uplink reference signal whose transmission is restricted may include the uplink reference signal transmitted through the antenna with relatively lower reception performance among the first uplink reference signal transmitted through the first antenna (221) and the second uplink reference signal transmitted through the second antenna (223).

[0223] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the first transmission mode or the second transmission mode is relatively suitable for the third transmission mode, it may restrict the transmission of uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band to induce the allocation of the third transmission mode by the external electronic device.

[0225] FIG. 7b is a flowchart (710) for transmitting an uplink reference signal based on the type of uplink data in an electronic device according to one embodiment. In the following embodiments, each operation may be performed sequentially, but is not necessarily performed sequentially. For example, the order of each operation may be changed, and at least two operations may be performed in parallel. For example, the electronic device of FIG. 7b may be the electronic device (101) of FIG. 1 or FIG. 2.

[0226] According to one embodiment with reference to FIG. 7b, an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101) of FIG. 1 or FIG. 2) or a processor (e.g., processor (120) of FIG. 1 or processor (200) of FIG. 2) may, in operation 711, establish a communication link with an external electronic device (e.g., external electronic device (300) of FIG. 3) through a first frequency band and a second frequency band. For example, the processor (200) may control the communication circuit (210) to establish a communication link with the external electronic device through a first frequency band for wireless communication in the FDD mode and a second frequency band for wireless communication in the TDD mode in an SA environment. For example, the external electronic device may include a gNB as a network entity (or physical network device, base station) connected (or registered) to the electronic device (101) to transmit and / or receive a signal (or data) via cellular communication. For example, the first frequency band and the second frequency band can be used for uplink CA (carrier aggregation) in an SA environment.

[0227] According to one embodiment, if an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) determines in operation 713 that an uplink transmission switch is to be used, it may transmit an uplink signal (or data) to an external electronic device through at least one of a first frequency band or a second frequency band. For example, if the processor (200) determines in accordance with scheduling information related to an uplink reference signal provided by an external electronic device (300) that an uplink transmission switch is to be used, it may control the communication circuit (210) to transmit an uplink reference signal corresponding to the second frequency band through the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (223) in a specified period (e.g., period or interval) in accordance with scheduling information related to the uplink reference signal.

[0228] For example, the processor (200) may determine that the transmission mode of the TDD method according to the uplink transmission switch is set to the first transmission mode if the control signal received from an external electronic device based on the transmission of the uplink reference signal contains scheduling information related to the uplink transmission switch set to a second value (e.g., "layer 2"). Based on the setting of the first transmission mode, the processor (200) may control the communication circuit (210) to transmit different uplink signals (or data) of the second frequency band through the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (223) according to the uplink transmission switch for a specified first time. Based on the use of the uplink transmission switch, the processor (200) may control the communication circuit (210) to limit the transmission of the uplink signal (or data) of the first frequency band for a specified first time. For example, the specified second value may be included as an index corresponding to the specified second value in the specified format (e.g., format 0_1) of the DCI associated with the uplink (e.g., UL-DCI).

[0229] For example, the processor (200) may determine that the transmission mode of the TDD method according to the uplink transmission switch is set to a second transmission mode if the control signal received from an external electronic device based on the transmission of an uplink reference signal contains scheduling information related to an uplink transmission switch set to a third value (e.g., "layer 1").

[0230] For example, the processor (200) may determine that the transmission mode of the TDD method according to the uplink transmission switching is set to the third transmission mode if the control signal received from an external electronic device based on the transmission of the uplink reference signal does not include scheduling information related to the uplink transmission switching.

[0231] According to one embodiment, an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) may, in operation 715, determine whether a specified third switching condition is satisfied based on the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device through a second frequency band. For example, if the processor (200) uses antenna transmission switching while communicating with an external electronic device (300) through a communication link established through a first frequency band and a second frequency band, it may determine whether a specified third switching condition is satisfied based on the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device through the second frequency band. For example, the type of uplink signal (or data) may include performance (e.g., throughput, delay, or reliability) required by the uplink signal (or data) transmitted by the electronic device (101) to the external electronic device.

[0232] According to one embodiment, if an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) determines that a specified third switching condition is satisfied based on the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device through a second frequency band (e.g., 'Yes' of operation 715), then in operation 717, at least one uplink reference signal associated with the second frequency band may be updated. For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the first transmission mode is relatively suitable for the second transmission mode, then the transmission power of some (e.g., any one) of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band may be updated to induce the assignment of the second transmission mode by the external electronic device. For example, the uplink reference signal for which the transmission power is updated may include any one of the first uplink reference signal transmitted through the first antenna (221) and the second uplink reference signal transmitted through the second antenna (223). For example, the uplink reference signal for which the transmission power is updated may include the uplink reference signal transmitted through the antenna with relatively lower reception performance among the first uplink reference signal transmitted through the first antenna (221) and the second uplink reference signal transmitted through the second antenna (223). For example, the updating of the transmission power may include a series of operations to lower the transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) to induce the allocation of a second transmission mode required by the electronic device (101) by the external electronic device (300).

[0233] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the first transmission mode is relatively suitable for the third transmission mode, it may update the transmission power of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band to induce the allocation of the third transmission mode by the external electronic device. For example, the updating of the transmission power may include a series of operations to lower the transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) to induce the allocation of the third transmission mode required by the electronic device (101) by the external electronic device (300).

[0234] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the second transmission mode is relatively suitable for the third transmission mode, it may update the transmission power of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band to induce the allocation of the third transmission mode by the external electronic device.

[0235] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the second transmission mode is relatively suitable for the first transmission mode, it may update the transmission power of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band to induce the allocation of the first transmission mode by the external electronic device. For example, the updating of the transmission power may include a series of operations to increase the transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) to induce the allocation of the first transmission mode required by the electronic device (101) by the external electronic device (300).

[0236] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the third transmission mode is relatively suitable for the second transmission mode, it may update the transmission power of some (e.g., any one) of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band to induce the external electronic device (300) to assign the second transmission mode. For example, the update of the transmission power may include a series of operations to increase the transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) to induce the external electronic device (300) to assign the second transmission mode required by the electronic device (101).

[0237] According to one embodiment, an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) may transmit at least one updated uplink reference signal associated with a second frequency band in operation 719.

[0238] For example, when the processor (200) updates the transmission power of uplink reference signals associated with a second frequency band, it can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit the uplink reference signals with updated transmission power through a plurality of antennas (220) (or a plurality of ports).

[0239] According to one embodiment, if an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) determines that a specified second switching condition is not satisfied based on the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device through a second frequency band (e.g., 'No' in operation 705), then in operation 709, uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band may be transmitted.

[0241] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may restrict the transmission of at least one uplink reference signal associated with a second frequency band when it satisfies a specified third switching condition related to the update of a reference signal while using antenna transmission switching. For example, when the processor (200) satisfies a specified third switching condition related to the update of a reference signal, it may identify (or estimate) a transmission mode that is relatively suitable for the type (or characteristics) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device (300).

[0242] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the first transmission mode is relatively suitable for the second transmission mode, it may restrict the transmission of some (e.g., any one) of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band to induce the allocation of the second transmission mode by the external electronic device.

[0243] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type (or characteristic) of the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device (300) in the first transmission mode or the second transmission mode is relatively suitable for the third transmission mode, it may restrict the transmission of uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band to induce the allocation of the third transmission mode by the external electronic device.

[0245] FIG. 8 is a flowchart for updating the transmission power of an uplink reference signal based on the type of uplink data in an electronic device according to one embodiment. For example, at least part of FIG. 8 may include detailed operations of operations 715 and 717 of FIG. 7b. In the following embodiments, each operation may be performed sequentially, but is not necessarily performed sequentially. For example, the order of each operation may be changed, and at least two operations may be performed in parallel. For example, the electronic device of FIG. 8 may be the electronic device (101) of FIG. 1 or FIG. 2.

[0246] According to one embodiment with reference to FIG. 8, when an electronic device (e.g., the electronic device (101) of FIG. 1 or FIG. 2) or a processor (e.g., the processor (120) of FIG. 1 or the processor (200) of FIG. 2) transmits an uplink signal (or data) to an external electronic device through at least one of a first frequency band or a second frequency band based on the use of an uplink transmission switch (e.g., operation 713 of FIG. 7b), in operation 801, it can determine whether a specified third switching condition is satisfied based on the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device through the second frequency band. For example, the type of the uplink signal (or data) may include the performance required by the uplink signal (or data) transmitted by the electronic device (101) to the external electronic device (e.g., throughput, delay, or reliability).

[0247] For example, the processor (200) may determine that the specified third switching condition is satisfied if the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device is of a type that is relatively sensitive to delay, but the transmission mode of the TDD method set by the external electronic device is a mode that is not relatively sensitive to delay (e.g., the first transmission mode).

[0248] For example, the processor (200) may determine that the specified third switching condition is not satisfied if the uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device is of a type that is relatively sensitive to delay, and the transmission mode of the TDD method set by the external electronic device is a mode that is relatively sensitive to delay (e.g., a second transmission mode or a third mode).

[0249] According to one embodiment, if an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) determines that a specified third switching condition is satisfied based on the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device through a second frequency band (e.g., 'Yes' of operation 801), then in operation 803, it may determine whether a switching to a transmission mode corresponding to the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device is possible. For example, if the processor (200) satisfies a specified third switching condition related to the update of a reference signal in a first transmission mode, it may determine whether a TDD transmission mode corresponding to the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device is a switchable second transmission mode or a third transmission mode. The processor (200) can determine that a switching of the transmission mode is possible when the transmission mode currently set is the first transmission mode and the transmission mode of the TDD method corresponding to the type of uplink signal (or data) is the second transmission mode or the third transmission mode.

[0250] For example, if the processor (200) satisfies a specified third switching condition related to the update of a reference signal in the second transmission mode, it can determine whether the TDD method transmission mode corresponding to the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device is a switchable third transmission mode. The processor (200) can determine that switching of the transmission mode is possible if, while the currently set transmission mode is the second transmission mode, the TDD method transmission mode corresponding to the type of uplink signal (or data) is the third transmission mode. The processor (200) can determine that switching of the transmission mode is restricted if, while the currently set transmission mode is the second transmission mode, the TDD method transmission mode corresponding to the type of uplink signal (or data) is the first transmission mode.

[0251] For example, if the processor (200) satisfies a specified third switching condition related to the update of a reference signal in the third transmission mode, it may determine that switching to a transmission mode corresponding to the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device is restricted.

[0252] According to one embodiment, if an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) determines that switching to a transmission mode corresponding to the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device is possible (e.g., 'yes' of operation 803), in operation 805, the transmission power of at least one of the uplink reference signals may be updated to correspond to the transmission mode corresponding to the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device. For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device in the first transmission mode is relatively suitable for the second transmission mode, the transmission power of some (e.g., any one) of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band may be updated to induce the allocation of the second transmission mode by the external electronic device. For example, the updating of the transmission power corresponding to the uplink reference signal may include a series of operations to reduce the transmission power corresponding to the uplink reference signal, calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213), to a specified update rate (e.g., about 50%).

[0253] For example, if the processor (200) updates the transmission power of some (e.g., any one) of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band, it may control the communication circuit (210) to transmit the uplink reference signal with updated transmission power and the uplink reference signal with unupdated transmission power through a plurality of antennas (220) (or a plurality of ports). For example, the uplink reference signal with unupdated transmission power may include an uplink reference signal transmitted with a transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213).

[0254] For example, if the processor (200) determines that the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device in the first transmission mode or the second transmission mode is relatively suitable for the third transmission mode, it may update the transmission power of uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band to induce the allocation of the third transmission mode by the external electronic device. For example, if the processor (200) requires a transition to the third transmission mode corresponding to the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device in the first transmission mode, it may update the transmission power of uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band to induce the allocation of the third transmission mode by the external electronic device.

[0255] For example, when the processor (200) updates the transmission power of uplink reference signals associated with a second frequency band, it can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit the uplink reference signals with updated transmission power through a plurality of antennas (220) (or a plurality of ports).

[0256] According to one embodiment, an electronic device (e.g., electronic device (101)) or a processor (e.g., processor (120 or 200)) may terminate an embodiment of updating the transmission power of an uplink reference signal if it determines that a specified third switching condition is not satisfied (e.g., 'No' of operation 801), or if it determines that switching to a transmission mode corresponding to the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device is not possible (e.g., 'No' of operation 803). For example, if the processor (200) determines that a specified third switching condition is not satisfied based on the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device through a second frequency band, it may control the communication circuit (210) to transmit uplink reference signals with a transmission power calculated based on a communication standard. For example, the uplink reference signals may be transmitted at a specified period allocated from the external electronic device.

[0257] For example, the processor (200) can control the communication circuit (210) to transmit uplink reference signals with transmission power calculated based on the communication standard when switching to a transmission mode corresponding to the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device through the second frequency band is restricted.

[0259] According to one embodiment, if the electronic device (101) determines that a specified third switching condition is satisfied based on the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device through a second frequency band, it may update the transmission power of at least one of the uplink reference signals to correspond to a transmission mode corresponding to the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to the external electronic device. For example, the updating (or adjustment) of the transmission power may include a series of operations to increase or decrease the transmission power calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) to induce the external electronic device (300) to assign a transmission mode required by the electronic device (101).

[0261] FIG. 9 is an example of switching the uplink transmission mode in an electronic device according to one embodiment.

[0262] According to one embodiment with reference to FIG. 9, the electronic device (101) can transmit information on the capabilities (e.g., UE capability) of the electronic device (101) to an external electronic device (300) (e.g., operation 911). For example, the electronic device (101) can establish a communication link with the external electronic device (300) through a first frequency band in the frequency division duplex (FDD) method and a second frequency band in the time division duplex (TDD) method for carrier aggregation (CA) in a stand-alone (SA) environment. For example, the external electronic device (300) may include a gNB (next generation node B), which is a network entity (or physical network device, base station) connected (or registered) to the electronic device (101) to transmit and / or receive signals (or data) via cellular communication.

[0263] For example, when the electronic device (101) performs a radio capability exchange in a radio resource control (RRC) connected state with an external electronic device (300), it may transmit information regarding the capability (e.g., UE capability) of the electronic device (101), including information regarding support for uplink transmission switching, to the external electronic device (300). For example, the information regarding support for uplink transmission switching may include information regarding frequency band combinations in which the electronic device (101) can perform uplink transmission switching.

[0264] According to one embodiment, when an external electronic device (300) establishes an uplink CA, it can determine whether the uplink transmission switching of the electronic device (101) is available based on the capabilities of the electronic device (101). For example, the external electronic device (300) can determine whether the frequency bands for the uplink CA are included in a combination of frequency bands where uplink transmission switching is possible in the electronic device (101).

[0265] According to one embodiment, if the external electronic device (300) determines that the uplink transmission switching of the electronic device (101) is available, it may transmit scheduling information related to the uplink reference signal to the electronic device (101), wherein the port related to the uplink reference signal is set to a designated first value (e.g., "ports 2") (e.g., operation 913). For example, the scheduling information related to the uplink reference signal may be included in an RRC message (e.g., RRC reconfiguration) and transmitted to the electronic device (101).

[0266] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may transmit an uplink reference signal at a specified period (e.g., period or interval) based on scheduling information related to an uplink reference signal provided by an external electronic device (300) (e.g., operation 915). For example, if the electronic device (101) is set to a first value (e.g., "ports 2") for the port related to the uplink reference signal in the scheduling information related to the uplink reference signal, it may transmit a first uplink reference signal (400) through a first antenna (221) (e.g., a first port) and transmit a second uplink reference signal (410) through a second antenna (223) (e.g., a second port). For example, the first uplink reference signal (400) and the second uplink reference signal (410) may be transmitted through resources (e.g., time and / or frequency) scheduled by the external electronic device (300).

[0267] According to one embodiment, an external electronic device (300) can estimate a channel with the electronic device (101) using at least one uplink reference signal received from the electronic device (101). Based on the channel with the electronic device (101), the external electronic device (300) can set a TDD transmission mode of the electronic device (101) for CA. For example, if the external electronic device (300) determines, based on the channel with the electronic device (101), that the electronic device (101) is located within a designated first distance (310) of FIG. 3, the TDD transmission mode of the electronic device (101) can be set to a first transmission mode.

[0268] According to one embodiment, an external electronic device (300) may transmit a control signal to the electronic device (101) that includes information related to the transmission mode of the TDD of the electronic device (101) (e.g., a first transmission mode) (e.g., operation 917). For example, the control signal may include a DCI related to the uplink (e.g., a UL(uplink)-DCI(downlink control indicator)). For example, information related to the transmission mode of the TDD of the electronic device (101) may be included as an index corresponding to the transmission mode in a specified format (e.g., format 0_1) of the DCI related to the uplink (e.g., UL-DCI).

[0269] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can transmit an uplink signal to the external electronic device (300) in a transmission mode included in a control signal provided by the external electronic device (300) (e.g., operation 919). For example, if the electronic device (101) includes scheduling information related to an uplink transmission switch set to a second value (e.g., "layer 2" and "2Tx") specified in the control signal received from the external electronic device (300), it can determine that the transmission mode of the TDD method according to the uplink transmission switch is set to the first transmission mode. Based on the first transmission mode, the electronic device (101) can transmit different uplink signals (or data) of the second frequency band to the external electronic device (300) through the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (223) according to the uplink transmission switch during a first time. For example, the specified first time may include a time interval specified for the external electronic device to apply the uplink transmission switch. For example, "2Tx" may indicate a state in which the electronic device (101) transmits an uplink signal (or data) using two antennas. "Layer 2" may indicate a state in which the electronic device (101) transmits a signal (or data) through two logical spaces (or layers) using a plurality of antennas (e.g., a first antenna (221) and a second antenna (223)).

[0270] According to one embodiment, when an electronic device (101) uses antenna transmission switching, it can check whether specified conditions related to the updating of a reference signal are satisfied. For example, when a processor (200) uses antenna transmission switching, it can check whether the uplink transmission state to an external electronic device satisfies a specified first switching condition (or a specified second switching condition). For example, the uplink transmission state may include at least one of a retransmission rate (e.g., RLC retransmission rate) or an error rate (e.g., BLER) from the electronic device (101) to the external electronic device.

[0271] For example, when the processor (200) uses antenna transmission switching, it can determine whether a specified third switching condition is satisfied based on the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device. For example, the type of uplink signal (or data) may include the performance (e.g., throughput, delay, or reliability) required by the uplink signal (or data) transmitted by the electronic device (101) to the external electronic device.

[0272] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may update the transmission power of at least one uplink reference signal associated with a second frequency band when it satisfies a specified condition (e.g., a specified first switching condition, a specified second switching condition, or a specified third switching condition) in a state using antenna transmission switching (e.g., operation 921). For example, the electronic device (101) may update the transmission power of any one of the uplink reference signals associated with a second frequency band to induce the allocation of a second transmission mode by an external electronic device (300) when it satisfies a specified condition related to the update of the reference signal in a first transmission mode. For example, the uplink reference signal whose transmission power is updated may include any one of the uplink reference signals arbitrarily selected from a first uplink reference signal transmitted through a first antenna (221) and a second uplink reference signal transmitted through a second antenna (223). For example, the uplink reference signal for which the transmission power is updated may include the uplink reference signal of the antenna with relatively lower reception performance among the first uplink reference signal transmitted through the first antenna (221) and the second uplink reference signal transmitted through the second antenna (223). For example, the updating of the transmission power may include a series of operations to reduce the transmission power of the uplink reference signal, which is allocated (or calculated) based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213), by a specified update rate (e.g., about 50%).

[0273] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may transmit at least one updated uplink reference signal associated with a second frequency band (e.g., operation 923). For example, when the electronic device (101) updates the transmission power of any one of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band, it may transmit the uplink reference signal with updated transmission power and the uplink reference signal with unupdated transmission power through a plurality of antennas (220) (or a plurality of ports). For example, the uplink reference signal with unupdated transmission power may include an uplink reference signal transmitted with a transmission power allocated (or calculated) based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213).

[0274] According to one embodiment, an external electronic device (300) can estimate a channel with the electronic device (101) using at least one uplink reference signal received from the electronic device (101). Based on the channel with the electronic device (101), the external electronic device (300) can set a TDD transmission mode of the electronic device (101) for CA. For example, if the external electronic device (300) determines, based on the channel with the electronic device (101), that the electronic device (101) is located beyond a designated first distance (310) of FIG. 3 and within a designated second distance (320), the TDD transmission mode of the electronic device (101) can be set to a second transmission mode.

[0275] According to one embodiment, an external electronic device (300) may transmit a control signal to the electronic device (101) that includes information related to the transmission mode of the TDD of the electronic device (101) (e.g., a second transmission mode) (e.g., operation 925). For example, the control signal may include DCI related to the uplink (e.g., UL-DCI).

[0276] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can transmit an uplink signal to the external electronic device (300) in a transmission mode included in a control signal provided by the external electronic device (300) (e.g., operation 927). For example, if the electronic device (101) includes scheduling information related to an uplink transmission switch set to a third value (e.g., "layer 1" and "2Tx") specified in the control signal received from the external electronic device (300), it can determine that the transmission mode of the TDD method according to the uplink transmission switch is set to a second transmission mode. Based on the second transmission mode, the electronic device (101) can transmit the same uplink signal (or data) of the second frequency band to the external electronic device (300) through the first antenna (221) and the second antenna (223) according to the uplink transmission switch for a first time. For example, "layer 1" may indicate a state in which an electronic device (101) transmits a signal (or data) through a logical single space (or layer) through a plurality of antennas (e.g., a first antenna (221) and a second antenna (223)).

[0278] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may update the transmission power corresponding to the uplink reference signals to correspond to the third transmission mode when the transmission mode of the TDD method is set to the first transmission mode and satisfies a specified first switching condition, a specified second switching condition, or a specified third switching condition.

[0279] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may restrict the transmission of at least one uplink reference signal associated with a second frequency band when it satisfies a specified first switching condition or a specified second switching condition associated with updating a reference signal while using antenna transmission switching.

[0281] FIG. 10 is an example of switching an uplink transmission mode in an electronic device according to one embodiment.

[0282] According to one embodiment with reference to FIG. 10, an electronic device (101) can transmit information regarding the capability (e.g., UE capability) of the electronic device (101) to an external electronic device (300) (e.g., operation 1011). For example, the electronic device (101) can establish a communication link with the external electronic device (300) through a first frequency band in the FDD mode and a second frequency band in the TDD mode for CA in an SA environment. For example, when the electronic device (101) performs a radio capability exchange in a connected state with the external electronic device (300) for radio resource control (RRC), it can transmit information regarding the capability (e.g., UE capability) of the electronic device (101), including information related to support for uplink transmission switching, to the external electronic device (300). For example, information related to support for uplink transmission switching may include information related to the frequency band combinations in which the electronic device (101) can perform uplink transmission switching.

[0283] According to one embodiment, when an external electronic device (300) establishes an uplink CA, it can determine whether the uplink transmission switching of the electronic device (101) is available based on the capabilities of the electronic device (101). For example, the external electronic device (300) can determine whether the frequency bands for the uplink CA are included in a combination of frequency bands where uplink transmission switching is possible in the electronic device (101).

[0284] According to one embodiment, if the external electronic device (300) determines that the uplink transmission switching of the electronic device (101) is available, it may transmit scheduling information related to the uplink reference signal to the electronic device (101), wherein the port related to the uplink reference signal is set to a designated first value (e.g., "ports 2") (e.g., operation 1013). For example, the scheduling information related to the uplink reference signal may be included in an RRC message (e.g., RRC reconfiguration) and transmitted to the electronic device (101).

[0285] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may transmit an uplink reference signal at a specified period (e.g., period or interval) based on scheduling information related to an uplink reference signal provided by an external electronic device (300) (e.g., operation 1015). For example, if the electronic device (101) is set to a specified first value (e.g., "ports 2") in the scheduling information related to the uplink reference signal, it may transmit a first uplink reference signal (400) through a first antenna (221) (e.g., a first port) and transmit a second uplink reference signal (410) through a second antenna (223) (e.g., a second port). For example, the first uplink reference signal (400) and the second uplink reference signal (410) may be transmitted through resources (e.g., time and / or frequency) scheduled by the external electronic device (300).

[0286] According to one embodiment, an external electronic device (300) can estimate a channel with the electronic device (101) using at least one uplink reference signal received from the electronic device (101).

[0287] According to one embodiment, an external electronic device (300) may transmit a control signal to the electronic device (101) that includes information related to the transmission mode of the TDD of the electronic device (101) (e.g., a second transmission mode) (e.g., operation 1017). For example, the control signal may include a DCI related to the uplink (e.g., a UL(uplink)-DCI (downlink control indicator)). For example, information related to the transmission mode of the TDD of the electronic device (101) may be included as an index corresponding to the transmission mode in a specified format (e.g., format 0_1) of the DCI related to the uplink (e.g., UL-DCI).

[0288] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can transmit an uplink signal to the external electronic device (300) in a transmission mode included in a control signal provided by the external electronic device (300) (e.g., operation 1019).

[0289] According to one embodiment, when an electronic device (101) uses antenna transmission switching, it can check whether specified conditions related to the updating of a reference signal are satisfied.

[0290] For example, when the processor (200) uses antenna transmission switching, it can determine whether a specified third switching condition is satisfied based on the type of uplink signal (or data) transmitted to an external electronic device. For example, the type of uplink signal (or data) may include the performance (e.g., throughput, delay, or reliability) required by the uplink signal (or data) transmitted by the electronic device (101) to the external electronic device.

[0291] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may update the transmission power of at least one uplink reference signal associated with a second frequency band when it satisfies a specified condition (e.g., a specified first switching condition, a specified second switching condition, or a specified third switching condition) in a state using antenna transmission switching (e.g., operation 1021). For example, the electronic device (101) may update the transmission power of uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band to induce the allocation of a third transmission mode by an external electronic device (300) when it satisfies a specified condition related to the update of the reference signal in a second transmission mode. For example, the update of transmission power may include a series of operations to reduce the transmission power of the uplink reference signal calculated based on a communication standard (e.g., TS38.213) by a specified update rate (e.g., about 50%).

[0292] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) can transmit at least one updated uplink reference signal associated with a second frequency band (e.g., operation 1023). For example, when the electronic device (101) updates the transmission power of the uplink reference signals associated with the second frequency band, it can transmit the uplink reference signals with updated transmission power through a plurality of antennas (220) (or a plurality of ports).

[0293] According to one embodiment, an external electronic device (300) can estimate a channel with the electronic device (101) using at least one uplink reference signal received from the electronic device (101). Based on the channel with the electronic device (101), the external electronic device (300) can set a TDD transmission mode of the electronic device (101) for CA. For example, if the external electronic device (300) determines, based on the channel with the electronic device (101), that the electronic device (101) is located beyond a designated second distance (320) of FIG. 3 and within a designated third distance (330), the TDD transmission mode of the electronic device (101) can be set to a third transmission mode.

[0294] For example, if the external electronic device (300) sets the transmission mode of the electronic device (101) to the TDD method transmission mode of the electronic device (101) to the third transmission mode, it may restrict the transmission of scheduling information related to uplink transmission switching related to the TDD method of the electronic device (101).

[0295] According to one embodiment, if the electronic device (101) does not receive scheduling information related to uplink transmission switching from an external electronic device (300), it may restrict the transmission of a signal (or data) via the TDD method (e.g., operation 1025).

[0296] For example, if the electronic device (101) does not include scheduling information related to uplink transmission switching in the control signal received from the external electronic device (300), it may determine that the transmission mode of the TDD method according to the uplink transmission switching is set to the third transmission mode. If the electronic device (101) is set to the third transmission mode, it may restrict the transmission of the uplink signal (or data) of the second frequency band for a specified first time. For example, the uplink signal (or data) of the first frequency band may be transmitted or restricted from transmission for a specified first time based on the third transmission mode.

[0298] According to one embodiment, the electronic device (101) may restrict the transmission of uplink reference signals associated with a second frequency band when it satisfies a specified first switching condition, a specified second switching condition, or a specified third switching condition associated with updating a reference signal while using antenna transmission switching.

[0300] According to one embodiment, when an electronic device (101) performs CA based on a first frequency band of the FDD method and a second frequency band of the TDD method, it may update the transmission power of an uplink reference signal to induce a transition to a transmission mode that the electronic device (101) requires (or desires). In this case, the electronic device (101) may reduce the uplink transmission delay by reducing the retransmission rate of the signal (or data) of the second frequency band, where the size of the transmission signal (or transmission data) is relatively large.

[0302] According to one embodiment, a method of operation of an electronic device (e.g., an electronic device (101) of FIG. 1 or FIG. 2) may include an operation of establishing a communication link using a time division duplex (TDD) frequency band through at least two antennas among a plurality of antennas for transmitting a signal to an external electronic device. According to one embodiment, a method of operation of an electronic device may include an operation of checking at least one reference signal among a plurality of reference signals corresponding to a TDD frequency band to control transmission power in order to induce a switching of the transmission mode of the electronic device at the external electronic device, when it is determined that a specified switching condition is satisfied based on the uplink transmission state of the electronic device while communicating with the external electronic device through the communication link. According to one embodiment, a method of operation of an electronic device may include an operation of transmitting a plurality of reference signals corresponding to a TDD frequency band, including at least one reference signal, to an external electronic device through at least two antennas.

[0303] According to one embodiment, the method of operation of an electronic device may include an operation of determining whether a specified switching condition is satisfied based on at least one of a retransmission rate corresponding to a frequency band of the TDD method or an error rate of the frequency band of the TDD method.

[0306] According to one embodiment, the operation of transmitting a plurality of reference signals may include the operation of determining the transmission power of a plurality of reference signals corresponding to a frequency band of the TDD method, the operation of updating the transmission power of a plurality of reference signals when it is determined that the transmission power of a plurality of reference signals is adjusted, and the operation of transmitting a plurality of reference signals to an external electronic device based on the updated transmission power.
