Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for preparing a multiply-particle sustained-release formulation using a mixed organic solvent that improves the stability of a W / O / W emulsion, comprising: (a) preparing an immiscible first aqueous phase containing one or more biologically active substances; (b) preparing a first oil phase by dissolving a lipid component containing one or more bipolar lipids and one neutral lipid in two or more organic solvents; (c) mixing the products of (a) and (b) to encapsulate the biologically active substances and form a W / O emulsion; (d) mixing the W / O emulsion again with a second aqueous phase to prepare a W / O / W emulsion; and (e) removing the organic solvent from the solvent spheres by evaporation.
