Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for controlling the position of a device for analyzing a golf shot. Background Technology
[0002] With the recent rise in public interest in golf, the golf industry is growing rapidly, and various technologies for analyzing golf shots are being developed.
[0003] Since golf is a sport in which a golf ball is struck with a golf club to be sent to a target location, the process of executing the shot (i.e., the process of striking the golf ball with the club) is very important.
[0004] As an example of a conventional method for analyzing golf shots, there is a method in which a camera fixed near the tee box where the shot is taken captures the user's swing motion or the flight trajectory of the golf ball and analyzes the captured results. However, this method had two major problems. First, the position of the sensor acquiring the golf shot video was fixed, which limited the area where the video could be acquired. Second, when the acquired video was not suitable for golf shot analysis, the user experience was degraded as the user changed the golf swing position or the position of the golf ball to acquire appropriate video.
[0005] Accordingly, the inventor(s) propose a technology for controlling a position that includes a driving unit for moving a main body capable of housing a device including a sensor, so that information suitable for the analysis of a golf shot can be obtained. Prior art literature

[0026] Next, a position control device (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a main body (210) configured to accommodate a device including at least one sensor for acquiring information related to a golf shot, and a driving unit (220) for moving the main body (210).
[0027] The configuration and function of the position control device (200) according to the present invention will be examined in detail through the following detailed description.
[0028] Next, the device (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention is a digital device that includes a function to communicate after connecting to a position control device (200), and any digital device equipped with memory means and equipped with a microprocessor to have computational capabilities, such as a smartphone, tablet, smart watch, smart band, smart glasses, desktop computer, laptop computer, workstation, PDA, web pad, mobile phone, etc., can be adopted as the device (300) according to the present invention.
[0029] Additionally, a device (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one sensor for acquiring information related to a golf shot. Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, any sensor capable of acquiring information related to a golf shot, such as an image sensor, a sound sensor, a pressure sensor, etc., may be included in the sensor according to the present invention.
[0030] For example, a device (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention can perform the function of acquiring information associated with a golf shot (e.g., video information of a golf shot) through a camera. Here, the device (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention can provide the acquired information associated with the golf shot to a position control device (200), and as described below, the main body (210) can acquire information associated with the golf shot.
[0031] In particular, the device (300) may include an application (not shown) that enables a user to receive a function according to the present invention from the location control device (200). Such an application may be downloaded from the location control device (200) or an external application distribution server (not shown).
[0032] Configuration of the position control device
[0033] Below, we will examine the internal configuration of the position control device (200) that performs an important function for the implementation of the present invention and the function of each component.
[0034] FIG. 2 is a drawing illustrating the internal configuration of a position control device according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0035] As illustrated in FIG. 2, a position control device (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured to include a main body (210), a driving unit (220), a communication unit (230), and a control unit (240). According to one embodiment of the present invention, the main body (210), the driving unit (220), the communication unit (230), and the control unit (240) may be program modules, at least some of which communicate with an external system (not shown). Such program modules may be included in the position control device (200) in the form of an operating system, an application program module, or other program modules, and may be physically stored in various known storage devices. Additionally, such program modules may be stored in a remote storage device capable of communicating with the position control device (200). Meanwhile, such program modules encompass, but are not limited to, routines, subroutines, programs, objects, components, data structures, etc., that perform specific tasks or execute specific abstract data types as described below according to the present invention.
[0036] Meanwhile, although the position control device (200) has been described as above, this description is exemplary, and it is obvious to those skilled in the art that at least some of the components or functions of the position control device (200) may be realized within a device (300) or server (not shown) or included within an external system (not shown) as needed.
[0037] First, the main body (210) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured to accommodate a device (300) including at least one sensor for acquiring information related to a golf shot.
[0038] Specifically, information associated with a golf shot according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one of information regarding a golf club, information regarding a golf ball, and information regarding a user's posture.
[0039] For example, information regarding a golf club according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one of the following: the type of golf club (e.g., driver, iron, wedge, putter, etc.), the difficulty level of the golf club (e.g., beginner club, intermediate club, advanced club, etc.), information regarding the shaft of the golf club (e.g., information that it is a shaft of Brand A), information regarding the head of the golf club (e.g., information that it is a head of Brand B), and information regarding the loft angle of the golf club. Here, the position control device (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention may obtain information regarding the golf club from an external system (not shown) (e.g., a virtual golf simulator).
[0040] As another example, information regarding a golf ball according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one of unique information of the golf ball (e.g., information regarding the manufacturer of the golf ball, information regarding the piece of the golf ball, information regarding the hardness of the golf ball, information regarding the dimples of the golf ball, etc.), information regarding the location where the golf ball is struck (e.g., information regarding the location where the golf ball is struck within the head area of the golf club), and trajectory information of the golf ball (e.g., information regarding the flight trajectory of the golf ball after it is struck).
[0041] As another example, information regarding a user's posture according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one of location information where the user's golf swing is performed (e.g., location information on the teeing table where the user is standing) and posture information by body part where the user's golf swing is performed (e.g., posture information of a specific body part).
[0042] In addition, at least one sensor according to one embodiment of the present invention may include an image sensor. However, according to one embodiment of the present invention, any sensor capable of acquiring information related to a golf shot, such as an image sensor, a sound sensor, a pressure sensor, etc., may be included in the sensor according to the present invention.
[0043] For example, when a golf shot is made by a user swinging a golf ball at a teeing table (e.g., a teeing table for making a golf swing) according to one embodiment of the present invention, the image sensor can perform the function of acquiring image information capturing the appearance of the golf shot being made.
[0044] In addition, the main body (210) according to one embodiment of the present invention can perform the function of housing the device (300). Here, the method of housing the device (300) by the main body (210) according to one embodiment of the present invention can be implemented such that information related to a golf shot can be obtained from at least one sensor included in the device (300) by placing the device (300) inside the main body (210) and housing the device (300) inside the main body (210).
[0045] For example, when a golf shot is made by a user according to one embodiment of the present invention, the device (300) can obtain information associated with the golf shot from at least one sensor. Here, the device (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention can provide information associated with the golf shot for a position control device (200), and the main body (210) can obtain information associated with the golf shot.
[0046] Next, the driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention can perform the function of moving the main body (210).
[0047] For example, a driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one guide rail, and a main body (210) may be configured to slide by being guided by at least one guide rail.
[0048] As another example, a driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one wheel (not shown), and a main body (210) may be configured to be movable by at least one wheel.
[0049] As another example, the driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include a moving means driven by at least one motor (e.g., an electric motor), and the main body (210) may be configured to be movable by the moving means.
[0050] FIG. 3 is a drawing exemplarily illustrating a position control device according to one embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 4 is a drawing exemplarily illustrating a position control device according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0051] For example, referring to FIGS. 3 and 4, a driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one guide rail (221) (e.g., two guide rails), and at least one guide rail (221) may support a main body (210). Also, referring to FIGS. 3 and 4, a main body (210) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be configured to slide by being guided by at least one guide rail (221).
[0052] For another example, referring to FIG. 3, the main body (210) can be moved in a specific direction (e.g., translational motion) by a driving unit (220). However, the driving unit (220) including a guide rail is merely an example, and as described above, it is also possible for the driving unit (220) to include other components (e.g., wheels, a moving means driven by a motor, etc.). Therefore, the driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention may move the main body (210) in a plane (e.g., movement in a two-dimensional plane) rather than moving it only in a straight line (e.g., translational motion).
[0053] Additionally, referring to FIG. 4, a device (300) may be housed in a position control device (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention. Here, the device (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention may include at least one sensor (310) (e.g., two sensors).
[0054] For example, referring to FIG. 4, a device (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention can obtain information (e.g., image information) associated with a golf shot using at least one sensor (310) (e.g., two sensors).
[0055] To continue explaining, a driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention can move the main body (210) from a first position to a second position. Here, the first position and the second position according to one embodiment of the present invention may refer to specific positions on the ground (e.g., batting cage). Furthermore, as described above, the first position and the second position according to one embodiment of the present invention may refer to two different positions where the main body (210) can move by means of a guide rail, but are not limited thereto, and it is obvious to those skilled in the art that they may refer to two different positions on the ground.
[0056] FIG. 5 is a diagram illustrating, in an exemplary manner, a situation in which a main body part (210) according to an embodiment of the present invention moves from a first position to a second position.
[0057] Referring to FIG. 5, a driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention can move the main body (210) from a first position (410) to a second position (420). Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, when the main body (210) is at the first position (410), the device (300) can obtain information related to a golf shot in a first acquisition area (411), but when the driving unit (220) moves the main body (210) to a second position (420), the device (300) can obtain information related to a golf shot in a second acquisition area (421).
[0058] Accordingly, according to the present invention, since the acquisition area associated with the device (300) (e.g., the area where the device can sense a golf shot) can be dynamically changed, the area on the ground where the device (300) can acquire a golf shot (e.g., the area on the teeing table) can be expanded.
[0059] In addition, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the driving unit (220) can move the main body (210) to a position associated with the control signal based on the control signal.
[0060] For example, according to one embodiment of the present invention, a user may provide a control signal (e.g., a user operation signal to move the main body (210) from a first position to a second position) to a position control device (200), and the driving unit (220) may move the main body (210) from a first position to a second position based on the control signal.
[0061] As another example, according to one embodiment of the present invention, there may be cases where the acquisition area (e.g., an area on the ground where a golf ball is photographed) is not suitable for acquiring information related to a golf shot (e.g., cases where it is difficult to acquire information related to a golf shot because there is a step difference on the teeing area).
[0062] Accordingly, according to one embodiment of the present invention, in response to a first acquisition area corresponding to a first position corresponding to a preset area condition, the driving unit (220) can move the main body (210) from the first position to a second position corresponding to a second acquisition area.
[0063] Specifically, the preset area conditions according to one embodiment of the present invention may include various area conditions such as a preset flatness of the ground (e.g., a value of geometric tolerance), a preset degree of irregularity, and a slope of the ground, and it is obvious to those skilled in the art that various area conditions affecting the acquisition of information related to a golf shot in the acquisition area may be included in the preset area conditions.
[0064] For a specific example, if the main body (210) according to one embodiment of the present invention is in a first position and there is a step difference in the batting area corresponding to the first acquisition area, making the operation of the sensor unsuitable, the driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention can move the main body (210) to a second position. Here, if the second acquisition area corresponding to the second position also corresponds to a preset area condition according to one embodiment of the present invention, the driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention can move the main body (210) to a third position and acquire information related to a golf shot at the third position (i.e., acquire information related to a golf shot in the third acquisition area corresponding to the third position).
[0065] Additionally, according to one embodiment of the present invention, information associated with a golf shot may include at least one of information regarding a golf club, information regarding a golf ball, and information regarding a user's posture, and the driving unit (220) may move the main body (210) by referring to the information associated with the golf shot.
[0066] For example, according to one embodiment of the present invention, in response to the acquisition of information regarding the position of a golf ball, the driving unit (220) may move the main body (210) to a position for acquiring information associated with a golf shot (e.g., a position determined to be suitable for sensing a golf ball).
[0067] Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, information regarding the position of a golf ball may be obtained from at least one sensor included in the device (300), but it is obvious to those skilled in the art that it may also be obtained from a sensor not included in the device (300). For example, position information of a golf ball may be obtained from an image sensor (not shown) installed indoors, and by referring to the position information of the golf ball, the driving unit (220) may move the main body (210) to a position for obtaining information related to a golf shot.
[0068] Referring to FIG. 5 for a specific example, it can be assumed that a user according to one embodiment of the present invention is preparing a golf shot, the main body (210) is at a first position (410), and the golf ball (430) is at a second acquisition area (421). In this case, when the main body (210) is at the first position (410), only the analysis of the golf shot that takes place in the first acquisition area (411) may be possible. However, since there is currently no golf ball (430) in the first acquisition area (411), the analysis of the golf shot may not be possible. Therefore, the driving unit (220) according to one embodiment of the present invention can enable the acquisition of information related to the golf shot to take place in the second acquisition area (421) by moving the main body (210) from the first position (410) to a second position (420) where information related to the golf shot can be appropriately acquired (e.g., sensing of the golf ball is possible).
[0069] Accordingly, according to the present invention, when the golf ball (430) is out of the sensing range of the device (300), the user does not move the golf ball to the acquisition area, but rather the main body (210) (e.g., the main body housing the device (300)) can be moved to sense the golf ball, so that an accurate analysis of the golf shot can be performed without inconvenience.
[0070] Meanwhile, if information related to a golf shot is obtained, but the obtained information related to the golf shot (e.g., image information) is not suitable for the analysis of the golf shot (e.g., if the spin of the golf ball is not identified due to light reflection, or if the relative position of the device (300) with respect to the position of the golf ball is not appropriate), it is necessary to move the position of the main body (210) again.
[0071] Accordingly, according to one embodiment of the present invention, in response to the acquisition result of information associated with a golf shot corresponding to a preset acquisition condition, the driving unit (220) can move the main body (210) from a first position to a second position corresponding to a second acquisition area.
[0072] For example, it can be assumed that image information regarding a golf shot is obtained from a sensor included in a device (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention, and that the image information is image information in which the flight trajectory of the golf ball is not properly captured due to light reflection. In this case, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the driving unit (220) can move the main body (210) to another location where image information can be properly obtained despite light reflection (e.g., moving from a first location to a second location).
[0073] As another example, it can be assumed that image information regarding a golf shot is obtained from a sensor included in a device (300) according to one embodiment of the present invention, and that a specific area of the image information is obscured due to a step difference between the sensor and the golf ball. In this case, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the driving unit (220) can move the main body (210) to a position that is not affected by the step difference of the teeing area.
[0074] Meanwhile, information regarding a golf shot according to one embodiment of the present invention may further include information regarding the type of golf shot executed by the user.
[0075] Specifically, information regarding a golf shot according to one embodiment of the present invention may include information regarding a golf shot that a user executes (or intends to execute) (e.g., a tee shot, a pitch shot, a chip shot, a bunker shot, a flop shot, a draw shot, a fade shot, a straight shot, etc.).
[0076] For example, information regarding the type of golf shot according to one embodiment of the present invention can be obtained by the device (300) analyzing the golf shot executed by the user. Specifically, if the information associated with the golf shot obtained includes information that the speed of the golf club head is 45 m / s when the golf ball is struck by a user whose driver swing speed is approximately 45 m / s, the main body (210) according to one embodiment of the present invention can obtain information that the golf shot is a driver shot as information associated with the golf shot.
[0077] Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, when a golf shot is a driver shot, precise information regarding at least one of the direction of the ball's movement and the amount of the ball's spin may be obtained for precise analysis of the ball's direction of travel and distance of travel. Accordingly, according to one embodiment of the present invention, when information associated with a golf shot includes information that the golf shot is a driver shot, the driving unit (220) may move the main body (210) in the direction where the golf ball is located in order to move the device (300) closer to the golf ball.
[0078] As another example, in the case where the golf shot according to one embodiment of the present invention is a putting shot, precise information regarding the ball's path of travel after the impact and the trajectory of the putter head may be obtained in order to accurately predict the final stopping position of the ball. Accordingly, according to one embodiment of the present invention, if the information associated with the golf shot includes information that the golf shot is a putting shot, the driving unit (220) may move the main body (210) in the opposite direction to the direction in which the golf ball is located in order to move the device (300) further away from the golf ball.
[0079] However, it should be obvious to those skilled in the art that the direction in which the driving unit (220) moves the main body (210) according to information associated with a golf shot (e.g., a driver shot) according to one embodiment of the present invention may be varied in various ways within the range that can achieve the purpose of the present invention.
[0080] As another example, information regarding the type of golf shot according to one embodiment of the present invention may be obtained from an external system (e.g., a virtual golf simulator system). Here, when a position control device (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention is linked with a virtual golf simulator system (not shown), during the course of the game on the simulator, the type of golf shot to be recommended to the user may be determined by referring to at least one of the user's position on the field, target position (e.g., the position of the hole cup), terrain information (e.g., information that the current swing position is a bunker, information that a bunker exists between the user's position and the target position, etc.), and weather information (e.g., information regarding wind direction or wind speed), and information regarding the type of golf shot may be obtained as information associated with the golf shot.
[0081] For a specific example, according to one embodiment of the present invention, during the course of a game on a simulator, by referring to information that the target location is 470 yards (approx. 429 meters) from the user's location on the field and that the user is currently located at the teeing ground, it is determined that the golf club to be recommended to the user is a driver and the type of golf shot to be recommended to the user is a tee shot, and information that a tee shot is made with a driver can be obtained as information associated with the golf shot.
[0082] Here, according to one embodiment of the present invention, if the information associated with the golf shot includes information that the golf shot is a driver shot, the driving unit (220) can move the main body (210) in the direction where the golf ball is located so that the device (300) moves closer to the golf ball. However, the specific method of moving the main body (210) according to the type of golf shot may be varied within the scope of achieving the purpose of the present invention.
[0083] As another example, according to one embodiment of the present invention, when information associated with a golf shot includes information about a golf club (e.g., information that the golf club is a wood) and information about the user's posture (e.g., information about the position of the user's foot), the driving unit (220) can move the main body (210) in the target direction (i.e., the direction in which the golf ball moves when struck) so that the acquisition area (e.g., the area that is the sensing target where the sensor captures the image) can be formed at a point offset in the target direction relative to the user's position (e.g., a point at a predetermined distance in the direction of the left foot relative to the center of both feet of the user).
