Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a concentration determination system using body pressure, and more specifically, to a concentration determination system using body pressure that determines the concentration of infants by using a body pressure measuring device installed one-to-one on the infants' chairs. Background Technology

[0003] Generally, early childhood education institutions such as kindergartens and daycare centers divide educational areas into language, science and mathematics, art, building blocks, and music, and arrange teaching aids and materials suitable for each area.

[0004] Young children move to specific areas in a set order or according to their own wishes, and then engage in activities with teachers or peers using the teaching aids and materials placed in those areas.

[0005] However, since the children are scattered across different areas while engaging in activities, it may be difficult for the teacher to check educational situations, such as whether the children are concentrating on the activity or sitting in the correct posture.

[0006] Therefore, in situations where activities take place in multiple areas within a single classroom, such as in early childhood education institutions, a method is required to help teachers check the educational status of young children without having to observe them individually. [0031] Figure 1 is a diagram illustrating the educational domains of an early childhood education institution.

[0032] Figure 1 illustrates various educational areas provided in one classroom at early childhood education institutions, such as general kindergartens and daycare centers.

[0033] As described above, the educational area can be divided into a language area, a science and mathematics area, a building block area, a music area, and an art area. In this embodiment, an example in which the educational area is divided into five areas has been illustrated, but it is obvious that the division of the educational area is not limited to this and can be appropriately changed according to the characteristics of the educational institution.

[0034] When the classroom is divided into several educational areas, young children can proceed with educational activities by rotating through each area in a designated order and using the teaching aids and materials placed in that area, or they can directly select an area of their choice and proceed with educational activities using the teaching aids and materials placed in that area.

[0035] In addition, each educational area has a set number of people who can participate in educational activities simultaneously, and children's chairs are placed according to that number. In this embodiment, three children's chairs are shown placed in each educational area, but this is for convenience of explanation only, and the placement of children's chairs may be changed depending on the situation of the educational institution.

[0037] FIG. 2 is a network configuration diagram of a concentration determination system using body pressure according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention.

[0038] Referring to FIG. 2, a concentration level determination system using body pressure according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a plurality of body pressure measuring devices (100) and a teacher terminal device (200). In this embodiment, for convenience of explanation, only one body pressure measuring device (100) is shown, but it is preferable that the body pressure measuring devices (100) be provided in correspondence with the number of infants in a classroom.

[0039] A body pressure measuring device (100) is installed on a chair equipped for infants to sit on while conducting educational activities. When an infant sits on the chair equipped with the body pressure measuring device (100), body pressure is transmitted to the body pressure measuring device (100) by the weight of the infant. The body pressure measuring device (100) may include a mesh-shaped body pressure measuring sensor.

[0040] The body pressure measuring device (100) is configured to be able to communicate with the teacher's terminal device (200). For example, the body pressure measuring device (100) measures body pressure and transmits body pressure measurement information to the teacher's terminal device. To do this, the body pressure measuring device (100) may be equipped with a short-range wireless communication module such as Bluetooth or a wireless communication module such as WIFI.

[0041] The teacher terminal device (200) receives body pressure measurement information from the body pressure measuring device (100). To this end, the teacher terminal device (200) must be equipped with the same communication module for communication with the body pressure measuring device (100). The teacher terminal device (200) may be any one of a desktop, a laptop, and a tablet PC.

[0042] In addition, the teacher terminal device (200) determines the sitting status and concentration level of the infants based on body pressure measurement information received from the body pressure measuring device (100). The teacher terminal device (200) will be described in more detail in FIG. 3, which will be described later.

[0043] Although not shown, a teacher terminal device (200) may be installed in each classroom, and since an early childhood education institution generally has multiple classrooms, a single early childhood education institution may be equipped with multiple teacher terminal devices (200). In this case, an administrator terminal device (not shown) may be further provided to manage the information of multiple teacher terminal devices (200) in an integrated manner. The administrator terminal device is configured to enable the transmission and reception of information with multiple teacher terminal devices (200) via a wired or wireless network.

[0045] FIG. 3 is a block diagram of a teacher's terminal device according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention.

[0046] Referring to FIG. 3, a teacher terminal device (200) according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention includes a network interface unit (210), a status determination unit (220), a concentration determination unit (230), a display unit (240), a warning signal generation unit (250), a storage unit (260), and a control unit (270).

[0047] The network interface unit (210) supports network communication of the teacher terminal device (200). For example, the network interface unit (210) receives body pressure measurement information from each of the multiple body pressure measuring devices (100).

[0048] The state determination unit (220) determines the individual infant's sitting status using body pressure measurement information received through the network interface unit (210). The state determination unit (220) includes a lower body posture determination unit (222) and an upper body posture determination unit (224).

[0049] The lower body posture judgment unit (222) extracts the body pressure generated on the seat of the chair from the body pressure measurement information and determines the posture of the lower body part of the infant from this. The posture judgment of the lower body part is to determine whether the buttocks part is correctly placed on the seat of the chair, and is intended to determine whether the sitting posture is correct.

[0050] The upper body posture judgment unit (224) extracts the body pressure generated from the backrest of the chair from the body pressure measurement information and determines the posture of the infant's upper body part from this. The posture judgment of the upper body part is to determine whether the lower back part is correctly positioned on the backrest of the chair, and is intended to determine whether the infant is sitting in a correct posture with a straight back.

[0051] The concentration judgment unit (230) determines the concentration of each child using the individual child's sitting status determined by the state judgment unit (220). The method of determining the concentration of each child can be varied in many ways.

[0052] Regarding the individual seating status of infants, a high level of concentration can be assessed if the infant is determined to be sitting in the chair with the correct posture. In other words, if it is detected that the infant's buttocks are accurately positioned on the designated seat and their lower back is properly positioned against the backrest, it can be determined that the infant is intensively participating in the current educational activity. Based on this principle, if the body pressure applied to the seat by the infant's buttocks falls within a pre-set standard range, the infant's posture can be judged as correct, and the level of concentration can be determined through the duration for which this pressure is applied.

[0053] The display unit (240) displays information transmitted to the teacher through the teacher terminal device (200). For example, the display unit (240) can display an image of a body pressure distribution map in which the body pressure distribution is displayed in color, and can display information including the operation results of the state judgment unit (220) and the concentration judgment unit (230).

[0054] The warning signal generating unit (250) generates a warning signal to notify the teacher when the state judgment unit (220) determines that the individual seating status of a specific child is poor. Here, the warning signal may be a warning message displayed through the display unit (240) or may be in the form of a warning sound.

[0055] The storage unit (260) stores all information necessary for the operation of the teacher terminal device (200). For example, the state judgment unit (220) and the concentration judgment unit (230) can store data that serves as a standard for determining individual seating status or concentration level.

[0056] The control unit (270) controls the overall operation of the teacher terminal device (200). That is, the control unit (270) controls signal input and output between the network interface unit (210), the status determination unit (220), the concentration determination unit (230), the display unit (240), the warning signal generation unit (250), and the storage unit (260).

[0058] FIGS. 4a and FIGS. 4b are drawings illustrating the reference area used in the state determination unit shown in FIGS. 3.

[0059] FIG. 4a illustrates the seat (S) of a chair, and FIG. 4b illustrates the backrest (B) of a chair. The seat (S) and backrest (B) each have reference areas (P1, P2) set according to their respective roles. When the child sits correctly in the chair in an upright posture, the child's lower body, i.e., the buttocks, will be located in the reference area (P1) of the seat (S), and the child's upper body, i.e., the waist, will be located in the reference area (P2) of the backrest (B). In this case, the body pressure measured by the body pressure measuring device (100) will be distributed to the location corresponding to the reference areas (P1, P2).

[0060] Therefore, if the body pressure distribution measured by the body pressure measuring device (100) is measured within the range of the reference area (P1, P2), it can be determined that the infant is sitting in the correct posture on the chair.

[0061] The sitting status of the infant can be graded according to the degree to which the body pressure distribution measured by the body pressure measuring device (100) deviates from the reference area (P1, P2). For example, if the body pressure distribution appears to be exactly contained within the reference area (P1, P2), the highest grade is assigned, and a preset grade can be assigned according to the degree to which it deviates from the reference area (P1, P2).

[0062] In this embodiment, the size and shape of the reference area (P1) of the seat plate (S) and the reference area (P2) of the back plate (B) are described merely as examples and are not necessarily limited thereto. That is, the size, shape, and position of the reference areas (P1, P2) can be changed to any other form depending on the situation.

[0064] Figure 5 is a diagram illustrating an image of a body pressure distribution measured by the body pressure measuring device shown in Figure 2.

[0065] FIG. 5 is an image of a body pressure distribution map measured through a body pressure measuring device (100). This image of the body pressure distribution map can be displayed on a teacher's terminal device (200) through a display unit (240).

[0066] The pressure distribution image shown in (a) suggests that the infant is sitting with the front edge of the chair. Although the infant is not sitting perfectly on the chair, the color and shape of the pressure distribution are clearly visible, so it can be seen that the infant is sitting correctly to some extent.

[0067] The pressure distribution image shown in (b) depicts a state where the child is sitting with the front edge of the chair, similar to (a). However, since the color and shape of the pressure distribution are not clearly visible, it can be inferred that the child is not sitting properly in the chair. When the pressure distribution image appears as in (b), the teacher can instruct the child to sit properly in the chair and focus on the educational content.

[0069] FIG. 6 is a flowchart illustrating a method for determining concentration using body pressure according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention.

[0070] It is assumed that a body pressure measuring device (100) is installed on each chair for infants installed in an early childhood education institution. When infants sit on the chair, the body pressure measuring device (100) measures the body pressure applied by the infants' bodies. Accordingly, the network interface unit (210) receives the body pressure measurement information (S310).

[0071] The state determination unit (220) determines the individual sitting status of the infant (S320). That is, the lower body posture determination unit (222) determines the sitting status using body pressure measurement information corresponding to the seat plate (S), and the upper body posture determination unit (224) determines the sitting status using body pressure measurement information corresponding to the back plate (B).

[0072] The concentration judgment unit (230) determines the concentration level of each infant using the individual seating status determined by the status judgment unit (220) (S330).

[0073] Subsequently, the control unit (270) repeats the body pressure measurement (S350) when the sitting state and concentration of each infant are good (S340-Y) as no separate action is required. If the sitting state and concentration of each infant are poor (S340-N), the warning signal generation unit (250) generates a warning signal (S360).

[0074] Through this operation, the teacher can determine the sitting position and concentration of the children in the chair without directly observing them visually through the body pressure measuring device (100) installed in the children's chair. Therefore, it is possible to prevent adverse effects on the children's bodies caused by poor posture, and it can also help the teacher proceed with educational activities smoothly.

[0076] Those skilled in the art to which the present invention pertains will understand that the present invention may be implemented in other specific forms without altering its technical concept or essential features. Therefore, the embodiments described above should be understood as illustrative in all respects and not restrictive. The scope of the present invention is defined by the claims set forth below rather than by the detailed description above, and all modifications or variations derived from the meaning and scope of the claims and equivalent concepts should be interpreted as being included within the scope of the present invention.
