Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a non-contact method for acquiring an inscription image using a camera of a mobile terminal, and more specifically, to a method for normalizing an inscription image to acquire not only an image with good contrast but also structured inscription information. Background Technology

[0002] Methods for verifying animal paw prints have been significantly developed and are increasingly being used as animal authentication methods. This is because animal paw prints serve as biometric information, possessing individual uniqueness similar to human fingerprints. Paw print authentication is a method that verifies whether an animal is the same by acquiring an image of the paw print, extracting pattern-based features such as the connections and splitting of wrinkles using that image as paw print data, and comparing this data with previously registered information.

[0003] Methods for acquiring nose print images are classified into contact and non-contact types based on the input method. The contact method involves inputting the nose print by directly contacting a nose print sensor, similar to acquiring a fingerprint image. Since the animal must make contact with a hard prism, the acquisition process is relatively difficult because it requires the animal's posture to be maintained using physical strength, such as by a guardian. On the other hand, the non-contact method inputs the nose print by photographing it with a camera from a distance. Therefore, the non-contact method using a camera has the advantage of being relatively easier to input the nose print compared to the contact method, as the animal does not need to make contact with a hard prism.

[0004] Despite the advantage of the non-contact method allowing for easy input of inscriptions for both the animal and the operator, it has disadvantages. For instance, out-of-focus images may result from the animal's inability to control its posture or the photographer's hand tremors. Furthermore, since the shooting is performed from a distance, the image is heavily influenced by ambient lighting conditions. Consequently, it is difficult to obtain inscription images where wrinkle patterns can be clearly recognized, and maintaining a consistent level of resolution is challenging.

[0005] In particular, mobile phones frequently utilize Auto Focus (AF) control to resolve issues where focus is lost due to factors such as user hand tremors. Auto Focus is a technology that finely corrects the camera's focus by using actuators to move the lens or adjust the position of the image sensor. When receiving animal paw prints via a mobile phone, multiple paw print images are saved simultaneously for various purposes, and in this case, Auto Focus becomes an issue. When saving 10 paw print images continuously with a 24 FPS (Frames Per Second) camera, the time required is approximately one-third of a second. Since hand tremor is roughly 2–6 Hz, capturing paw print images can occur while the phone is shaking. This means that paw print images may be saved while the auto Focus control, based on the mobile phone's image stabilization algorithm, is adjusting focus at a speed faster than the hand tremor; consequently, some of the saved images captured in this situation may end up out of focus. [0006] (Patent Document 0001) KR 10-2020-0019302 A The problem to be solved

[0007] The objective of the present invention is to provide a non-contact method for acquiring an inscription image using a camera of a mobile terminal, which not only acquires an image with good contrast but also normalizes the inscription image for acquiring inscription information, and to provide the mobile terminal said method. means of solving the problem

[0008] To achieve the above objective, the present invention provides a method for acquiring an inscription image using a built-in camera module of a terminal.

[0009] Method for obtaining inscription images

[0010] The method for acquiring an epitaph image of the present invention includes a first normalization step of rotating the representative epitaph image so that the philtrum of the epitaph captured in the representative epitaph image from which epitaph information has been extracted becomes a preset direction, and adjusting the magnification of the representative epitaph image so that the epitaph captured in the representative epitaph image fits to the maximum size of a preset size window; and a second normalization step of creating a normalized epitaph image by cutting out the area of the window from the representative epitaph image.

[0011] Inscription input

[0012] According to an embodiment, the method for acquiring a fingerprint image of the present invention comprises: a ‘fingerprint input step’ in which a fingerprint input module controls an image signal processing unit to convert a plurality of frames continuously input from the time the focus of the camera is fixed on the nose of an animal, thereby acquiring a plurality of fingerprint images among digital images generated using the camera module; and a fingerprint information acquisition module extracting fingerprint information from the plurality of stored fingerprint images. Representative inscription image It may further include a step of selecting and extracting inscription information.

[0013] According to another embodiment, when the camera module operates according to automatic focus control by actuator driving, the inscription input step is such that when the animal's nose is recognized while displaying the digital image on a touchscreen, the reference size guide A step of displaying by overlapping; a step of guiding the user so that the digital image enters a storage standby state; and the Waiting to save The method includes the step of turning off the autofocus control of the camera module to fix the focal length when the autofocus control is turned off; and the step of controlling the image signal processing unit to convert a plurality of frames continuously input from the time the autofocus control is turned off to acquire the plurality of inscription images. Here, the storage standby state is a state in which the animal's nose in the digital image overlaps with the guide by more than a preset ratio and the size of the nose is within a reference size range.

[0014] Text Input - Fixed Focal Length

[0015] According to another embodiment, the step of fixing the focal length preferably involves superimposing a storage standby image on the touchscreen when the storage standby state is reached, and turning off the autofocus control when the user clicks the storage standby image.

[0016] First normal form

[0017] According to another embodiment, the first normalization step preferably involves rotating the representative inscription image so that the philtrum of the inscription captured in the representative inscription image aligns with a vertical scale, and adjusting the magnification of the representative inscription image so that the inscription captured in the representative inscription image aligns with the vertical length of the scale.

[0018] Computer-readable recording media or software distribution servers possessing said recording media

[0019] The present invention also extends to a computer-readable recording medium storing at least one software that performs the operation of the inscription input module, the inscription information acquisition module, and the normalization module, or to a software distribution server holding said recording medium.

[0020] mobile terminal

[0021] The present invention also extends to a mobile terminal that performs an inscription input method. The mobile terminal of the present invention includes a camera module, an image signal processing unit, a touchscreen, a memory, and a processor. The image signal processing unit converts a digital image generated using the camera module into a plurality of frame units to generate a plurality of inscription images, the touchscreen displays the digital image and the inscription images, and the memory stores a plurality of computer-readable instructions regarding the digital image, the inscription images, and the acquisition of the inscription images. The processor can perform the above-described method for acquiring inscription images by executing the instructions stored in the memory. Effects of the invention

[0022] The method for acquiring an inscription image of the present invention can automatically normalize and acquire an inscription image suitable for acquiring inscription information for inscription authentication while using a camera of a mobile phone or a digital camera.

[0023] The method for acquiring a nose print image according to the present invention reduces errors in recognizing the same nose print as a different one by normalizing the philtrum of the nose in the nose print image to face a set direction. Furthermore, it reduces authentication errors by limiting the storage of the nose print image itself to the central part of the print, where deformation and distortion of the nose print information are relatively small. In this process, the user does not need to forcibly adjust the posture of the pet, etc., to a standard posture.

[0024] In addition, even when using a mobile terminal in which the autofocus function operates by default, according to the present invention, the autofocus function is turned off to acquire the inscription image when a state suitable for the inscription image is reached. Therefore, while focusing using the autofocus control of the mobile terminal, it is possible to prevent the problem of some inscription images being out of focus due to the autofocus control of the continuously captured inscription images. Brief explanation of the drawing

[0025] FIG. 1 is a block diagram of a mobile terminal of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a flowchart provided for explaining the inscription input process among the inscription image acquisition method of the present invention, FIG. 3 is a screen in the non-text input process according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 4 is a flowchart provided for explaining the inscription image normalization process among the inscription image acquisition method of the present invention, and Figure 5 is an example of a representative inscription image and a regular inscription image generated according to the present invention. Specific details for implementing the invention

[0026] The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings.

[0027] Referring to FIG. 1, the mobile terminal (100) of the present invention includes a touchscreen (101), a camera module (110), an image signal processor (ISP) (131), at least one processor (133), and a memory (150), and processes so-called 'inscription input' which involves photographing an animal's inscription to obtain an inscription image, and obtains inscription information from the input inscription. If the software or application described below is installed on a conventional personal device equipped with a camera, such as a conventional mobile phone, laptop, tablet PC, PDA, or digital camera, it becomes the mobile terminal (100) of the present invention. In addition, even a portable media player, pager, personal navigation device, smartwatch, portable game console, etc. equipped with a camera can become the mobile terminal (100) of the present invention if the software of the present invention is installed on a device equipped with a camera.

[0028] The touchscreen (101) is not only a means for visually displaying a digital image during the input of an animal's inscription, but also an input means capable of receiving user control (e.g., click).

[0029] The camera module (110) is equipped with an optical system (111) including at least one lens, an image sensor (113), and a camera driving unit (115) to photograph an animal's inscription under the control of a processor (133) and acquire a digital image in a raw format.

[0030] The optical system (111) is equipped with at least one lens to control light incident on the image sensor (113) and also has an actuator (AF Actuator) for adjusting the focal length, thereby adjusting the focal length according to the control of the camera drive unit (115). The image sensor (113) converts light incident through the optical system (111) into an electrical signal. In some embodiments, when adjusting the focal length, the position of the image sensor (113) may be changed instead of the lens.

[0031] The camera driving unit (115) controls the operation of the image sensor (113) according to various set parameters, converts the output of the image sensor (113) into a digital signal, and provides it to the image signal processing unit (131). A conventionally known Analog Front End (AFE) for a camera is an example of the camera driving unit (115). The camera driving unit (115) may be implemented as a single chip together with the image signal processing unit (131).

[0032] Meanwhile, parameters for controlling the camera drive unit (115) include color correction, aperture opening, shutter speed, gain for signal amplification of the image sensor (113), and autofocus (AF) control. The parameters may be controlled by the camera drive unit (115) according to a preset automatic control mode, or the operation of the camera module (110) may be controlled by the processor (133) by changing the parameter values through the camera drive unit (115).

[0033] When power is first supplied, the camera drive unit (115) controls the camera module (110) with an initial setting and then controls it in automatic mode. During automatic mode, the autofocus control is switched to manual control according to the control of the inscription input module (151) described below, thereby performing the inscription input process. The autofocus control algorithm of the camera drive unit (115) may be any conventional method known to control focus by comparing images of previous frames.

[0034] The image signal processing unit (131) performs image signal processing on the digital image signal output from the camera module (110), and performs noise removal, white balance, color correction, gamma correction, etc. The image signal processing unit (131) encodes the processed digital image signal in frame units, converts it into an image of a preset format, displays it on the touchscreen (101), and stores all or part of it in memory (150). Accordingly, the signal generated by the image sensor (113) is processed sequentially by the camera driving unit (115) and the image signal processing unit (131), converted into a digital image file, and then stored in memory (150). The inscription image encoded by the image signal processing unit (131) is stored in formats such as raw, JPEG, PNG, HEIF (High Efficiency Image Format), psd (Photoshop Document), psb (Photoshop Big), tiff, and jpg.

[0035] The processor (133) controls the overall operation of the mobile terminal (100) of the present invention by executing instructions stored in memory (150). The processor (133) may be implemented as one or more processors, such as a CPU (Central Processing Unit), a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), or a DSP (Digital Signal Processor). The processor (133) executes various software programs and / or instruction sets stored in memory (150) to perform various functions of the mobile terminal (100) and process data.

[0036] The memory (150) stores various information, data, commands, software, etc., necessary for the operation of the mobile terminal (100), including the operating system, and stores inscription images processed by the image signal processing unit (131) or inscription images processed by the inscription input module (151), inscription information acquisition module (153), or normalization module (155) described below.

[0037] The memory (150) may include one or more computer-readable storage media, including at least one of volatile memory or non-volatile memory or a combination thereof. The memory (150) may include at least one type of storage media among flash memory type, hard disk type, multimedia card micro type, card type memory (e.g., SD or XD memory, etc.), RAM (Random Access Memory), SRAM (Static Random Access Memory), ROM (Read-Only Memory), EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory), and PROM (Programmable Read-Only Memory). Additionally, the memory (150) may correspond to web storage or a cloud server that performs storage functions over the internet.

[0038] In particular, the memory (150) of the mobile terminal (100) of the present invention stores a non-text input module (151), a non-text information acquisition module (153), and a normalization module (155), which are instruction sets or software (or applications) for performing operations of the mobile terminal (100) of the present invention. Meanwhile, as described above, if the mobile terminal (100) is implemented as a conventional mobile phone or the like rather than being dedicated to the present invention, various software for implementing other functions unrelated to the present invention may be stored and installed in the memory (150).

[0039] Meanwhile, a conventional mobile terminal can become the mobile terminal (100) of the present invention by installing at least one software that performs the operation of an inscription input module (151), an inscription information acquisition module (153), and a normalization module (155). Such software may be supplied in a state stored on a computer-readable recording medium (not shown), or may be supplied through a software distribution server (not shown) called a so-called 'store'. The software distribution server is equipped with a storage medium that stores the software in a state where the software can be downloaded when the conventional mobile terminal connects.

[0040] Each of the inscription input module (151), inscription information acquisition module (153), and normalization module (155) is executed by the processor (235) and operates as a single hardware configuration, and its operation is described below as if it were a hardware configuration.

[0041] The inscription input module (151) controls the inscription input process during the method for acquiring an inscription image of the present invention. During the inscription input, the inscription input module (151) controls the camera module (110), the image signal processing unit (131), and the touchscreen (101) to receive an inscription from an animal and generate an inscription image. As previously described, the digital image signal generated by the camera module (110) is displayed as a digital image on the touchscreen (101) through the image signal processing unit (131) and stored as an inscription image in the memory (150). During the inscription input process, the inscription input module (151) can control the image signal processing unit (131) by making a request to the operating system program of the mobile terminal (100). The operation of the inscription input module (151) will be explained again below.

[0042] The inscription information acquisition module (153) acquires inscription information by selecting one of the multiple inscription images stored in memory (150) as a 'representative inscription image'. Here, the inscription information is information about the features of the inscription extracted from the inscription image, also referred to as feature point data, and includes not only the morphological features of individual islands (or cells) in the inscription but also correlation information regarding the morphological arrangement between the islands. The inscription information acquisition module (153) extracts inscription information through image processing of the inscription image. The method of acquiring inscription information by the inscription information acquisition module (153) may use various methods known in the past.

[0043] The normalization module (155) performs a normalization process on a representative nose print image to generate a 'normalized nose print image' and stores it in memory (150). By normalizing the nose print image so that the philtrum of the nose in the image faces a set direction, not only is the error of recognizing the same nose print as a different nose print reduced, but authentication errors can also be reduced by limiting the storage of the nose print image itself to the central part of the nose print where the deformation of the nose print information and the distortion of the nose print are relatively small. It is desirable to store the normalized nose print image when acquiring nose print information to be used as an authentication means for a specific animal and storing the nose print image of the animal. The normalization process by the normalization module (155) is explained again below.

[0044] Inscription input among the methods for acquiring inscription images (Fig. 2)

[0045] Hereinafter, the inscription input and normalization method of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 2 and FIGS. 3. The method of the present invention includes the processes of inscription input, inscription information extraction, and normalization of an inscription image, and is initiated by a user's control command or operation.

[0046] <Display of digital image: S201>

[0047] The camera module (110) is in an autofocus control state. When a user initiates text input, the text input module (151) controls the image signal processing unit (131) so that the digital image generated by the camera module (110) is displayed on the touchscreen (101). The digital image signal generated by the camera module (110) is displayed as a digital image on the touchscreen (101) through the image signal processing unit (131). The image displayed on the touchscreen (101) is displayed in near real-time as the camera module (110) captures it.

[0048] <Guide indication upon nose recognition: S203, S205>

[0049] While the digital image is being displayed, the text input module (151) performs image processing on the digital image displayed on the touchscreen (101) to determine whether the animal's nose is recognized (S203), and if the animal's nose is recognized in the digital image, it superimposes a guide (ga) onto the digital image and displays it on the touchscreen (101) (S205). .

[0050] At this time, the animal's nose refers to the part that is the target for extracting nose print information. Since the guide (ga) serves to guide the user to align the animal's nose with the guide (ga), it is recommended to set it to a standard size. Here, the 'standard size' is the size in the nose print image, and considering the current resolution of the camera module (110), a nose sufficient for acquiring nose print information It is set as the size of the area. The reference size must be larger than a certain size, but since being too large is not desirable, it is best to keep it within a certain range. This range of the reference size is referred to as the 'reference size range' below.

[0051] In order to capture the animal's nose in the digital image, the nose input module (151) can display a message on the touchscreen (101) guiding the user to capture the animal's nose as the center.

[0052] FIG. 3 illustrates an example of a screen displayed on a touchscreen (101) during the nose input process. In the screen of FIG. 3 (a) displayed on the touchscreen (101), a guide (ga) is displayed along with the recognition of an animal's nose in the image. It is preferable that the guide (ga) be displayed at the location of the animal's nose, but it is not strictly necessary. Meanwhile, the nose input module (151) can recognize an animal's nose in a digital image by using an artificial intelligence algorithm that machine-learns many images tagged with the noses of specific types of animals.

[0053] <Focal length fixation for storage standby: S207 to S211>

[0054] The autofocus control of the mobile terminal (100), particularly the focus control for the purpose of preventing hand shake, does not require focusing correction on a frame-by-frame basis, so the focus control of the present invention fixes the focus and inputs an inscription.

[0055] First, the nose input module (151) determines whether the digital image is in a storage standby state. The storage standby state is a state in which the animal's nose in the digital image overlaps with the guide (ga) by more than a preset ratio and the size of the nose is within the reference size range. Since the focus is fixed and the nose image is saved immediately when the storage standby state is reached, the animal's nose must be captured in close-up with a sufficient size to reach the storage standby state (S207). When the storage standby state is reached, the nose input module (151) displays the storage standby image (gb) superimposed on the touchscreen (101) (S209).

[0056] The text input module (151) waits for user control, that is, for the user to touch the image (gb) waiting to be saved displayed on the touchscreen (101), and when the image (gb) waiting to be saved is touched (S211), the autofocus control of the camera module (110) is turned off and switched to manual control to fix the focus (S213).

[0057] Referring to FIG. 3(b), the animal's nose overlaps with the guide (ga) by more than a preset ratio on the image displayed on the touchscreen (101), and as the size of the nose becomes within the reference size range, the image awaiting storage (gb) is superimposed and displayed. The user has brought the camera module (110) sufficiently close to the nose to make it awaiting storage. The ratio of overlap with the animal's nose can be adjusted differently depending on the size of the guide (ga), and FIG. 3(b) is an example where the nose is captured larger than the guide (ga). If the nose is captured at a size similar to FIG. 3(b), it becomes a nose image sufficient for acquiring nose information. Since the nose image is normalized separately, the user does not need to force the pet or other animal to assume a designated posture.

[0058] According to an embodiment, when the storage standby state is reached in step S207, the text input module (151) may fix the focus by turning off the autofocus control of the camera module (110) without performing step S211.

[0059] <Saving multiple inscription images after focus fixation: S215>

[0060] The inscription input module (151) fixes the focus at S213 and simultaneously controls the image signal processing unit (131) to store a preset number of frames continuously input from the time the autofocus control is turned off as inscription images. The image signal processing unit (131) stores a preset number (e.g., 10 frames) of frame images from the time requested by the inscription input module (151) as the corresponding number of inscription images in the memory (150).

[0061] In the above method, the present invention can generate multiple high-quality inscription images despite the autofocus control of the mobile terminal (100) during the inscription input process.

[0062] Normalization of inscription image among inscription image acquisition methods (Fig. 4)

[0063] The following describes the process of normalizing an inscription image to separately store the inscription image from which inscription information has been obtained, as shown in FIGS. 4 and FIGS. 5. FIGS. 5 (a) and (b) illustrate examples of representative inscription images, and (c) is an example of a normalized inscription image. The normalization module (155) performs first normalization and second normalization on the representative inscription image and then stores it as a 'normalized inscription image'.

[0064] <1st Normal Form: S401, S403>

[0065] The normalization module (155) rotates the representative inscription image so that the philtrum of the inscription captured in the representative inscription image becomes in a preset direction (e.g., vertical). For example, the normalization module (155) can rotate the representative inscription image so that the philtrum of the inscription captured in the representative inscription image aligns with a vertical scale (gc). FIG. 5 (a) is an example in which the representative inscription image captured in FIG. 3 (b) is rotated and a normalization window (gd) is displayed with the vertical scale (gc) indicated as a centerline. The scale can be implemented in various forms (S401).

[0066] The normalization module (155) adjusts the scale of the representative inscription image so that the inscription captured in the rotated representative inscription image fits to the maximum size of the vertical length (or horizontal length) of the scale (gc) of a preset size. For example, FIG. 5 (b) is an example in which the representative inscription image is enlarged so that the top and bottom edges of the inscription fit to the length of the vertical scale (gc) (S403).

[0067] <2nd Normalization: S405>

[0068] The normalization module (155) generates a normalized inscription image by cutting out the area of the normalization window (gd) from the representative inscription image. Therefore, the normalized inscription image is smaller than the representative inscription image, which is an image produced by the image sensor (113). With the direction and length of the scale (gc) fixed, the size of the normalization window (gd) can be varied to match the shape of the animal's inscription. Even in this case, the normalization module (155) can adjust the size of the normalization window (gd) using an artificial intelligence algorithm that has learned the shape of the animal's inscription.

[0069] By the above method, the present invention can normalize an inscription image.

[0070] Although preferred embodiments of the present invention have been illustrated and described above, the present invention is not limited to the specific embodiments described above. Various modifications are possible by those skilled in the art without departing from the essence of the invention as claimed in the claims, and such modifications should not be understood individually from the technical spirit or perspective of the present invention.
