Abstract

A photodetector that improves the light reception efficiency of light in the mid-infrared wavelength band and a gas sensor including the same are disclosed. According to one aspect of the present embodiment, a light receiving element for receiving light in the mid-infrared wavelength range is provided, comprising: a filter positioned at the foremost end in the direction in which reflected light is incident on the light receiving element to filter light other than that in the mid-infrared wavelength range; a light receiving part that senses the amount of light in the mid-infrared wavelength range incident on itself; and a coating agent applied to the light receiving part on which the filter is to be mounted, thereby adhering the filter to the light receiving part while simultaneously improving the light receiving efficiency in the mid-infrared wavelength range.
