Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a transfer device, and more specifically, to a transfer device that adsorbs and transfers a laminate in which a plurality of electrodes and a separator are stacked. Background Technology

[0003] Generally, battery cells are classified according to the shape of the battery case into cylindrical and prismatic battery cells, in which the electrode assembly is housed in a cylindrical or prismatic metal can, and pouch-type battery cells, in which the electrode assembly is housed in a pouch-type case made of an aluminum laminate sheet. Among these, there is particularly high interest in pouch-type battery cells, which are easy to deform and have a low weight.

[0004] The electrode assembly embedded in the battery case is a power generation element capable of charging and discharging, consisting of a stacked structure of a positive electrode, a separator, and a negative electrode. It can be classified into a jelly-roll type, which is wound with a separator interposed between long sheet-type positive and negative electrodes coated with active material, and a stack type, which is formed by sequentially stacking a plurality of positive and negative electrodes of a predetermined size with a separator interposed therebetween.

[0005] In addition, to improve the processability of existing stacked electrode assemblies and to meet the demand for various types of battery cells, lamination / stacked electrode assemblies with a structure in which unit cells are stacked, in which electrodes and separators are alternately stacked and bonded, are also being developed.

[0006] Since such an electrode assembly has a structure in which multiple electrodes and separators are stacked, problems such as the stacked structure breaking or the separator tearing are likely to occur due to even small vibrations or impacts during handling. Therefore, the electrode assembly is stored by securing both sides with insulating tape or the like.

[0007] Meanwhile, during the process of transporting the electrode assembly fixed with insulating tape or the like as described above, it frequently occurred that the electrode or separator included in the electrode assembly was damaged, resulting in a degradation of the battery cell's quality.

[0008] FIG. 1 simply illustrates a conventional transfer device for transferring an electrode assembly. The conventional transfer device may be composed of a base plate (10) movable in all directions of the xyz axes, and an adsorption unit (20) coupled to the base plate (10) to adsorb the surface of the electrode assembly.

[0009] FIG. 2 illustrates the process of transporting a laminate (3) having a plurality of electrodes and a separator layer stacked thereon using the transport device of FIG. 1. As shown in FIG. 2(a), the laminate (3) has insulating tape (4) attached to both sides to maintain and fix the stacked structure of the electrodes and the separator layer. The base plate (1) that has moved to the top of the laminate (3) descends to adsorb the upper surface of the laminate (3) with the adsorption unit (2), and lifts the laminate (3) upward to transport it to a destination. However, as shown in FIG. 2(b), due to the weight of the laminate (3), a gap may occur between the part directly adsorbed by the adsorption unit (2) and the part not adsorbed, and in this process, the electrodes and the separator layer may be torn or damaged.

[0010] Therefore, there is a need for a transfer device with a new structure that can prevent the degradation of secondary battery quality by suppressing the tearing of electrodes and separators. Prior art literature

[0042] The above laminate (10) has a shape in which electrodes and separators are alternately stacked, and more specifically, the above laminate (10) has a shape in which a plurality of negative electrodes and positive electrodes are alternately stacked with a separator interposed between them.

[0043] In addition, the laminate (10) of the present invention may have an insulating tape (11) attached to its side so that the laminate structure is fixed.

[0044] FIGS. 3 to 9 relate to a transfer device according to a first embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 10 relates to a transfer device according to a second embodiment of the present invention, and FIGS. 11 to 12 relate to a transfer device according to a third embodiment of the present invention.

[0045] Hereinafter, a transfer device according to each embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings above.

[0047] (First embodiment)

[0048] FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a transfer device according to a first embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 4 is a front view of the transfer device of FIG. 3.

[0049] According to FIGS. 3 and 4 above, the transfer device of the present invention includes a base plate (100), an adsorption unit (200), and a support unit (300).

[0050] The base plate (100) is installed to be freely movable in horizontal and vertical directions so that the laminate (10) can be transported to a specific area.

[0051] The base plate (100) can move in a horizontal direction and can be raised or lowered in a vertical direction at any point. Referring to FIG. 3, the base plate (100) can move in all directions of the xyz axes based on the xyz coordinate system.

[0052] The above base plate (100) is coupled to a separate driving device (not shown) on one side.

[0053] The above driving device may utilize any device or means for moving the base plate (100) in a vertical direction (z-axis direction) and a horizontal direction (xy-axis direction), and is not specifically limited thereto in the present invention.

[0055] The above adsorption unit (200) serves to adsorb the upper surface of the above laminate (10) using suction force.

[0056] The above adsorption unit (200) is coupled to the lower part of the base plate (100) as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, and moves along the base plate (100).

[0057] The above-mentioned adsorption unit (200) consists of an adsorption pad (220) and an adsorption tube (210).

[0059] The above-mentioned adsorption pad (220) is a part that is directly attached to the surface of the laminate (10), and is a general suction or adsorption pad (220), and any material and shape capable of transmitting a strong suction force to the surface of the laminate (10) without damaging the surface of the laminate (10) can be used.

[0060] The above-mentioned adsorption tube (210) is a portion connecting the adsorption pad (220) and the base plate (100), and has a shape that extends in a vertical direction, with both ends connected to the base plate (100) and the adsorption pad (220), respectively.

[0061] The above-mentioned adsorption tube (210) is a hollow form containing a gas passage (not shown) through which gas moves inside, and the gas passage is connected to a vacuum source (not shown) that provides suction force. Accordingly, by the operation of the vacuum source, an adsorption pad (220) communicating with the gas passage adsorbs the surface of the laminate (10). At this time, the gas passage and the vacuum source may be connected through a separate air hose (not shown).

[0062] The above vacuum source may be in the form of an air pump, and any device capable of providing suction power may be used.

[0063] A plurality of the above adsorption units (200) may be combined with the base plate (100).

[0064] Since the upper surface of the laminate (10) of the present invention has a rectangular shape, it is preferable that at least four or more adsorption units (200) are attached to the base plate (100), and each adsorption unit (200) comes into contact with each corner of the laminate (10) to adsorb the laminate (10).

[0066] The support unit (300) serves to support the lower part of the laminate (10) adsorbed to the adsorption unit (200).

[0067] The support unit (300) is coupled to the base plate (100). More specifically, the support unit (300) is coupled to each side of the base plate (100) as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4.

[0068] The above support unit (300) is composed of a fixed member (310), a vertical moving member (320), and a rotating member (330).

[0070] The above-mentioned fixed member (310) is a portion that is directly coupled to the base plate (100), and may be coupled to at least one of the upper and side portions of the base plate (100), and may be in a form that is coupled to both the upper and side portions and extends downward as illustrated.

[0071] The fixed member (310) does not move up and down relative to the base plate (100) and serves to support and guide the vertical moving member (320).

[0073] The above vertical moving member (320) is characterized by being guided by the above fixed member (310) and moving up and down.

[0074] The vertical moving member (320) is slidably coupled to the fixed member (310) and moves up and down.

[0075] The above vertical moving member (320) can be moved up and down by a driving device such as a linear motor or an air pressure cylinder.

[0076] Figure 5 shows the operation of the support unit (300).

[0077] According to FIG. 5 above, the fixed member (310) includes an air pressure cylinder (not shown), and the vertical moving member (320) is coupled to the air pressure cylinder and moves up and down according to the movement of the piston (not shown) of the air pressure cylinder. That is, the vertical moving member (320) is coupled to the piston of the cylinder and moves up and down according to the movement of the piston.

[0078] The above air pressure cylinder is sufficient if it has a structure capable of transmitting the pressure of the incoming air to the piston, thereby causing the piston and the vertical moving member (320) connected to the piston to reciprocate along a straight path.

[0079] FIGS. 6 and FIGS. 7 show variations of the support unit (300).

[0080] According to FIGS. 6 and 7 above, the fixed member (310) includes a linear motor (not shown), and the vertical moving member (320) is coupled to the linear motor and moves up and down according to the operation of the linear motor. At this time, the fixed member (310) includes a vertical guide rail (311) that is extended in a vertical direction to guide the movement of the vertical moving member (320), and the vertical moving member (320) is guided by the vertical guide rail (311) and moves up and down.

[0081] The above linear motor may include a mover (not shown) that reciprocates along a vertical guide rail (311) having a straight path by supplied electricity, and the vertical moving member (320) is coupled to the mover and moves up and down according to the movement of the mover.

[0082] The above linear motor is sufficient if it is structured to reciprocate the mover and the vertical moving member (320) along a straight path by the supplied electricity.

[0084] The above-mentioned rotating member (330) is coupled with the vertical moving member (320) as shown in FIGS. 3 to 5 and is characterized by being raised and lowered according to the movement of the vertical moving member (320) and rotating around the part coupled with the vertical moving member (320).

[0085] The above-mentioned rotating member (330) is axially coupled to the end of the above-mentioned vertical moving member (320) and rotates around the coupled axis.

[0086] The above-mentioned rotating member (330) may be formed to extend horizontally with respect to the combined axis, and the extended portion of the rotating member (330) rotates with respect to the axis. At this time, the lower part of the laminate (10) may be supported by the rotation of the rotating member (330).

[0087] The above-mentioned rotating member (330) may include an inclined surface.

[0088] FIG. 8 above shows a modified example of a rotating member (330) included in a support unit (300). As shown in FIG. 8, the rotating member (330) includes an inclined surface inclined forward on its upper side.

[0089] The vertical moving member (320) includes a rotary driving device (321), such as a servo motor or pneumatic motor, at its end, and the rotary member (330) is coupled with the rotary driving device (321).

[0091] Specifically, the vertical movement member (320) may include a servo motor at its end, and the rotation member (330) is coupled to a rotation axis (321a) formed in a vertical direction and included in the servo motor. The rotation axis (321a) may be rotated by electricity supplied to the servo motor, and the rotation member (330) coupled to the rotation axis (321a) rotates around the rotation axis (321a) by the rotation of the rotation axis (321a).

[0092] Additionally, the vertical moving member (320) may include an air pressure motor at its end, and the rotating member (330) is coupled to a rotating shaft (321a) formed in a vertical direction and included in the air pressure motor. The rotating shaft (321a) may be rotated by the pressure of air supplied to the air pressure motor, and the rotating member (330) coupled to the rotating shaft (321a) rotates around the rotating shaft (321a) by the rotation of the rotating shaft (321a).

[0094] Figure 9 above illustrates the process of adsorbing and transporting a laminate (10) by a transport device in stages. The cell transport stages are divided into an adsorption stage (S1), a vertical moving member (320) lowering stage (S2), a rotating member (330) rotation stage (S3), and a rotating member (330) support stage (S4).

[0095] In the adsorption step (S1), the base plate (100) of the transfer device descends to adsorb the upper part of the laminate (10) to the adsorption pad (220). At this time, the rotating member (330) coupled to the lower part of the vertical moving member (320) maintains a horizontal position relative to the vertical moving member (320) in the y-axis direction when the vertical moving member (320) descends, so as not to come into contact with the upper part of the laminate (10).

[0096] Subsequently, in the vertical movement member (320) lowering step (S2), the base plate (100) rises while adsorbing the laminate (10), and at the same time, the vertical movement member (320) descends along the fixed member (310). At this time, the vertical movement member (320) descends until the rotating member (330) is positioned at the bottom of the laminate (10). Subsequently, in the rotating member (330) rotation step (S3), the rotating member (330) rotates toward the laminate (10) by the operation of the rotation drive device (321). At this time, the rotating members (330) rotated on both sides of the base plate (100) are symmetrical to each other and maintain a state of rotation toward the laminate (10). Subsequently, the vertical moving member (320) rises along the fixed member (310), and the rotating member (330) located at the bottom of the stack (10) rises together with the rise of the vertical moving member (320) to support the bottom of the stack (10).

[0097] Through the above process, the transfer device can safely transfer the laminate (10) supported by the rotating member (330) to a desired location.

[0099] (Second embodiment)

[0100] The transfer device according to the second embodiment of the present invention is characterized in that, in the transfer device according to the first embodiment, at least two rotating members (330) are coupled to the lower part of the vertical moving member (320).

[0101] FIG. 10 shows a support unit (300) included in a transfer device according to a second embodiment of the present invention.

[0102] A pair of rotating members (330) are coupled to the lower part of the vertical moving member (320) as shown in FIG. 10. Specifically, the vertical moving member (320) includes a pair of rotational driving devices (321) at the bottom, and the rotational axis (321a) of each rotational driving device (321) rotates in different directions. The rotating member (330) includes a main rotating member (331) coupled to one of the pair of rotational driving devices (321) and a sub-rotating member (332) coupled to the other.

[0103] The main rotating member (331) and the sub-rotating member (332) each maintain a horizontal position relative to the vertical moving member (320) with respect to the y-axis direction when the adsorption unit (200) is not adsorbing the laminate (10). Subsequently, when the adsorption unit (200) adsorbs the laminate (10) and the vertical moving member (320) descends to an appropriate position, the main rotating member (331) and the sub-rotating member (332) rotate in different directions.

[0104] Unlike the one shown in FIG. 10, the above-mentioned rotary drive device (321) may be installed at a predetermined distance in the y-axis direction from the lower part of the vertical moving member (320), and the spaced-apart main rotary member (331) and sub-rotating member (332) may each support one side of the lower part of the laminate (10) at a predetermined distance.

[0106] (Third embodiment)

[0107] The transfer device according to the third embodiment of the present invention is characterized in that, in the transfer device according to the first embodiment, the support unit (300) is coupled to the base plate (100) so that it can slide relative to the base plate (100).

[0108] Specifically, the base plate (100) includes pneumatic cylinders or linear motors on both sides, and the fixed member (310) included in the support unit (300) is coupled to the pneumatic cylinders or linear motors and slides according to the operation of the pneumatic cylinders or linear motors.

[0109] FIGS. 11 and FIGS. 12 illustrate the operation of a support unit (300) included in a transfer device according to a third embodiment of the present invention.

[0110] FIG. 11 above illustrates an example of the operation of a support unit (300) that slides in the y-axis direction on a base plate (100).

[0111] According to FIG. 11 above, the fixed member (310) is coupled to an air pressure cylinder and slides back and forth in accordance with the movement of the piston (not shown) of the air pressure cylinder. At this time, any structure can be used for the air pressure cylinder that transmits the pressure of the incoming air to the piston to move the piston and the fixed member (310) connected to the piston back and forth along a straight path.

[0112] FIG. 12 above illustrates another example of the operation of a support unit (300) that slides in the y-axis direction on a base plate (100).

[0113] According to FIG. 12 above, the fixed member (310) moves back and forth in a sliding motion according to the operation of the linear motor. At this time, both sides of the base plate (100) include horizontal guide rails (110) formed in a horizontal direction to guide the movement of the fixed member (310), and the fixed member (310) slides while being guided by the horizontal guide rails (110).

[0114] The above linear motor may include a mover (not shown) that reciprocates along a horizontal guide rail (110) having a straight path by supplied electricity, and the fixed member (310) is coupled to the mover and slides according to the movement of the mover.

[0115] Any structure capable of reciprocating the mover and fixed member (310) in a straight path by the supplied electricity can be used for the above linear motor.

[0117] The present invention has been described in more detail above through drawings and embodiments. However, the configurations described in the drawings or embodiments described in this specification are merely one embodiment of the present invention and do not represent all technical concepts of the present invention; therefore, it should be understood that various equivalents and modifications that can replace them may exist at the time of filing this application.
