Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a golf swing practice device and method, and more specifically, to a golf swing practice device and method that enables a user to improve their golf swing skills by allowing them to learn accurate swing timing and swing patterns. Background Technology

[0003] Golf refers to a game played in a designated area where players hit a ball with a golf club to get it into the hole with the fewest strokes possible; the act of swinging the club is called a swing. Therefore, the swing can be considered the most important element in golf, and consistent and repetitive practice is required to swing well. As golf becomes more popular and the golf population grows, the demand for golf swing practice is also increasing.

[0004] What is needed for a good swing is accurate timing and proper posture. This can be achieved through consistent practice by maintaining a consistent swing rhythm and tempo and correcting the swing form.

[0005] However, since practicing a golf swing requires considering various factors such as time, location, and cost, consistent practice can be a burden. Therefore, devices for golf practice are being developed to overcome these issues.

[0006] For example, prior art 1 discloses a golf swing trainer that can visually and audibly verify the direction and distance when a golf ball is struck using digital technology, and prior art 2 discloses a golf club for swing practice that is adjustable in length, easy to carry, and adjustable to fit the user's body.

[0007] However, since the technology disclosed in Prior Art 1 and Prior Art 2 does not include a configuration for providing feedback on the user's swing, the user must either provide feedback on their own swing or receive feedback from an expert. This presents problems such as difficulty in making objective judgments or the need for additional personnel, and the additional time required limits efficient practice.

[0008] Therefore, in order to solve the aforementioned problems, there is a need to develop a golf swing practice device that can be used regardless of time and place and provides immediate feedback to the user's swing, enabling them to learn accurate swing timing. Prior art literature

[0033] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.

[0035] First embodiment

[0036] Referring to FIG. 1, a golf swing practice device according to the first embodiment of the present invention includes a sensor module (110), a control module (120), and a notification module (130), and the control module (120) includes a database unit (121), a calculation unit (122), and a result generation unit (123).

[0037] First, the sensor module (110) may be equipped on the user's body and golf club. The sensor module (110) is intended to collect physical information, namely swing data, generated during the user's swing process, and the swing data may include swing posture, swing speed, swing angle, etc. Additionally, the sensor module (110) can detect swing data in real time, and the swing data detected by the sensor module (110) may be stored in a control module (120) linked to the sensor module (110). The types of sensors used in the present invention may include a gyroscope sensor, an accelerometer sensor, an image sensor, a pressure sensor, etc., but are not necessarily limited thereto.

[0038] Next, the control module (120) includes a database unit (121), an output unit (122), and a result generation unit (123), and can be linked with the sensor module (110) and the notification module (130). At this time, the database unit (121) may refer to a collection of data that stores, integrates, and manages swing data. The control module (120) receives swing data detected by the sensor module (110), stores it in the database unit (121), and thereby integrates and databases swing data repeatedly generated by the user.

[0039] Additionally, the control module (120) can calculate the optimal range by analyzing swing data in the calculation unit (122). Here, the optimal range may refer to a range that includes the average value of the swing data and a certain error range, and the average value may refer to the average value of the user's swing posture, the average value of the club's swing speed, and the average value of the swing angle. Accordingly, the calculation unit (122) can calculate the average value of the user's swing posture, the average value of the club's swing speed, and the average value of the swing angle, and finally calculate each optimal range by including a certain error range therein. At this time, the error range may be a percentage range set and entered by the user, or it may be arbitrarily set to a range such as ±3%, ±5%, ±10%, etc., and then selected to match the difficulty level desired by the user.

[0040] Furthermore, the output unit (122) can divide the golf swing into stages and calculate the optimal range for each stage. For example, the golf swing can be divided into stages such as address, takeback, backswing, swing, and follow-through, and the optimal range for the user's swing posture, swing speed, swing angle, etc., at each stage can be calculated. This allows the golf swing practice device to analyze swing data more precisely.

[0041] Additionally, the control module (120) can compare newly detected swing data with the optimal range after the optimal range is calculated in the result generation unit (123). The analysis result of comparing the newly detected swing data with the optimal range can be transmitted to the notification module (130) linked with the control module (120).

[0042] Next, the notification module (130) can notify the user of swing data stored in the database unit (121) or data processed by the control module (120) by sound or vibration, or provide it by displaying it on a screen. The information that can be provided through the notification module (130) may include swing data stored in the database unit (121), newly detected swing data generated immediately before by the user, the optimal range calculated by the calculation unit (122), and the analysis results generated by the result generation unit (123). Depending on the user's selection, one or more pieces of information may be provided simultaneously so that the user can check and compare each piece of data at a glance.

[0043] Additionally, the notification module (130) may be provided to the user. The way the notification module (130) is provided to the user may be in the form of a smart watch or a belt, but is not necessarily limited thereto, and may be downloaded in the form of an application to a smartphone provided by the user.

[0044] Thus, the golf swing practice device according to the present invention can detect and store swing data, calculate an optimal range from the stored swing data, and then provide an analysis result by comparing newly detected swing data with the optimal range. Through this, the user can know the swing posture, swing speed, and swing angle optimized for them, and through repetitive practice, is able to swing with a consistent swing pattern, swing tempo, and correct posture.

[0045] In addition, since golf swings can be practiced even in limited spaces, the burden caused by time, location, and cost can be reduced. This facilitates repetitive golf practice, allowing users to develop an interest in the sport and ultimately contributing to the popularization of golf.

[0047] Hereinafter, each component of the golf swing practice device according to the first embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to FIG. 1.

[0048] First, the sensor module (110) will be described in more detail.

[0049] The sensor module (110) may include a motion sensor unit (111) and a club sensor unit (112). The motion sensor unit (111) may be mounted on the user's body to detect the user's swing posture. More specifically, the motion sensor unit (111) may be mounted on the user's arm where movement is detected during a swing, and the mounting form may be a bracelet, ring, glove, armband, etc., but is not limited thereto and may be any form that can be mounted on the user's body. For example, sensors such as a gyroscope and accelerometer built into a smartwatch may be utilized. Any type of sensor that has the function of recognizing the movement or position of an object may be used, for example, a position and displacement sensor, a velocity sensor, a gyroscope, or an accelerometer, but is not necessarily limited thereto.

[0050] Additionally, the club sensor unit (112) is equipped on the golf club and can detect swing speed, swing angle, and the position of the golf club. The club sensor unit (112) can be equipped on each of the multiple clubs used in a golf game, and the swing data detected by each club sensor unit (112) can be stored in different storage locations of the database unit (121), and the optimal range can also be calculated individually for each. Accordingly, the user can learn the optimal swing pattern and swing tempo suitable for each club used.

[0051] The golf swing practice device according to the present invention is equipped with a motion sensor unit (111) and a club sensor unit (112), respectively, to individually detect the movement of the user and the golf club, and to provide more detailed feedback by analyzing the results.

[0052] Next, the notification module (130) will be described in more detail with reference to FIG. 1.

[0053] The notification module (130) may include a display unit (131) and a vibration unit (132). The display unit (131) can display information on the screen, such as swing data stored in the database unit (121), newly detected swing data generated by the user immediately prior, an optimal range calculated by the calculation unit (122), and an analysis result generated by the result generation unit (123). The user can selectively check the desired information, and the selected information can be displayed on a single screen. The display unit (131) may be a smart watch, smartphone, or monitor equipped by the user, but is not necessarily limited thereto.

[0054] Additionally, the display unit (131) may further be equipped with a touchscreen panel. This allows the user to input a signal through the display unit (131) when selecting a data generation mode, a practice mode, a difficulty level, and the type of desired information.

[0055] Additionally, the vibration unit (132) can provide a notification by vibration when newly detected swing data generated immediately before by the user falls within the optimal range or at the timing when the user needs to move. The vibration unit (132) may be mounted on the user's body in the form of a belt, but is not necessarily limited thereto, and any device capable of providing a notification to the user through vibration may be possible.

[0056] This allows the user to repeat a smooth swing according to the notification, and through repetitive practice, learn the swing pattern and swing tempo, ultimately enabling a consistent swing when playing actual golf.

[0057] Hereinafter, each step of the golf swing practice method according to the first embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to FIG. 2.

[0058] Referring to FIG. 2, a golf swing practice method according to a first embodiment of the present invention includes a preparation step (S10), a data generation step (S20), a data detection step (S30), a data storage step (S40), an optimal range calculation step (S50), a swing practice step (S60), a data analysis step (S70), and a notification step (S80).

[0059] First, the preparation step (S10) may be a step in which the user equips the sensor module (110) on the body and the golf club. The type and location of the sensor module (110) may be as described above.

[0060] Next, the data generation step (S20) may be a step in which the user selects a data generation mode and performs a swing. The user can start the data generation step (S20) by selecting a data generation mode from a data generation mode and a practice mode through the display unit (131). The swing data generated when in the data generation mode is stored in the database unit (121) and can be used when calculating the optimal range by the calculation unit (122).

[0061] Additionally, the user can repeat the data generation step (S20) to generate multiple swing data. By generating multiple swing data, the average value required for calculating the optimal range can be obtained as a more meaningful value.

[0062] Next, the data detection step (S30) may be a step in which the sensor module (110) detects swing data. The sensor module (110) may detect swing data individually from the motion sensor unit (111) and the club sensor unit (112), and the swing data may include swing posture, swing speed, swing angle, etc.

[0063] Next, the data storage step (S40) may be a step of storing the swing data detected in the data detection step (S30) in the database unit (121). The sensor module (110) and the control module (120) are linked so that the generated swing data can be stored in the database unit (121) in real time, and the swing posture, swing speed, swing angle, etc., can be stored in different locations.

[0064] Next, the optimal range calculation step (S50) may be a step in which the calculation unit (122) analyzes swing data stored in the database unit (121) to calculate the optimal range of the swing. The definition and calculation method of the optimal range may be as described above.

[0065] The data generation step (S20), data detection step (S30), data storage step (S40), and optimal range calculation step (S50) are performed in real time when the user performs a swing in data generation mode, so that the swing data can be additionally reflected in the optimal range in real time.

[0066] Next, the swing practice step (S60) may be a step in which the user selects a practice mode and performs a practice swing. The user can start the swing practice step (S60) by selecting a practice mode between a data generation mode and a practice mode through the display unit (131). Newly detected swing data refers to swing data generated when in practice mode, and may be stored in the database unit (121) in a different location from the swing data generated in the data generation step (S20).

[0067] Next, the data analysis step (S70) may be a step in which the result generation unit (123) compares the newly detected swing data with the optimal range. By comparing the newly detected swing data with the optimal range, the analysis results may be provided by dividing the case where the newly detected swing data is included in the optimal range and the case where it is not included.

[0068] Next, the notification step (S80) may be a step in which the notification module (130) informs the user of the analysis results. The notification module (130) may provide at least one of the swing data stored in the database unit (121), newly detected swing data, the optimal range calculated by the calculation unit (122), and the analysis results generated by the result generation unit (123), thereby allowing the user to check and compare each of the data at a glance.

[0069] Thus, feedback can be provided immediately upon the user swinging, enabling efficient and repetitive golf practice, and since the user's judgment is not included in the feedback, more objective feedback is possible.

[0070] Furthermore, to explain the notification step (S80) in more detail, the notification step (S80) may further include a display notification step (not shown in the drawing) and a vibration notification step (not shown in the drawing).

[0071] First, the display notification step may be a step of displaying at least one of newly detected swing data, optimal range, and analysis result on a screen. The display unit (131) used in this step is as described above.

[0072] Finally, the vibration notification step may be a step of providing a notification via vibration when newly detected swing data falls within the optimal range. The vibration unit (132) used in this step is as described above, and in addition to the case where newly detected swing data falls within the optimal range, a notification via vibration may be provided at the timing when the user needs to move. For example, the swing may be divided into stages, and a notification via vibration may be provided at each timing when address, takeback, backswing, swing, and follow-through swing must be performed.

[0073] As a result, users can save time that would otherwise be spent looking at the display screen, allowing for more efficient repetition of golf practice, and because the time between repeated swings is short, it can be more effective for learning swing patterns and swing tempos with the body.

[0075] 2nd embodiment

[0076] The second embodiment of the present invention differs from the first embodiment in that it can additionally detect the user's swing posture using the image sensor unit (113). It is obvious that any configuration in this embodiment that is identical or similar to the configuration described in the first embodiment can be understood as having the same or similar purpose and exerting an effect.

[0077] Hereinafter, a golf swing practice device according to a second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. 3.

[0078] Referring to FIG. 3, the golf swing practice device according to the second embodiment of the present invention is further equipped with an image sensor unit (113), thereby allowing the user to check the swing posture as an image. The image sensor unit (113) may be a two-dimensional image sensor or a three-dimensional image sensor, and may use an image sensor equipped in a camera. Furthermore, the type of sensor is not limited thereto. The image sensor unit (113) may be provided at a location desired by the user during the preparation step (S10), but preferably, it may be provided at a location where the movement of the user's arm and club can be detected from the front or side of the user. The swing data detected by the image sensor unit (113) may also be stored at a different location from the swing data detected by the motion sensor unit (111) and the club sensor unit (112).

[0079] Thus, the user can check the swing posture through the display unit (131) and supplement and correct any deficiencies. More specifically, since the swing posture of the newly detected swing data and the swing posture within the optimal range can be simultaneously compared as images through the display unit (131), it is easy to determine the difference between the accurate swing posture and the current swing posture, and ultimately, the user's golf skills can be effectively improved.

[0081] Third embodiment

[0082] The third embodiment of the present invention differs from the first embodiment in that it can additionally detect the pressure applied by the user's hand to the golf club, more specifically the grip, using the pressure sensor unit (114). It is obvious that any configuration in this embodiment that is identical or similar to the configuration described in the first embodiment can be understood as having the same or similar purpose and producing an effect.

[0083] Hereinafter, a golf swing practice device according to a third embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. 4.

[0084] Referring to FIG. 4, the golf swing practice device according to the third embodiment of the present invention may further be equipped with a pressure sensor unit (114) on the golf club. The pressure sensor unit (114) may be provided on the topmost part of the golf club that the user holds with their hand or on the grip, and any sensor that measures pressure may be possible. Swing data detected by the pressure sensor unit (114) is also stored in a different location from the swing data detected by the motion sensor unit (111) and the club sensor unit (112), and an optimal range can be calculated separately. Therefore, if the pressure measured in practice mode deviates from the optimal range, a notification can be provided in real time through the vibration unit (132).

[0085] Thus, users can receive real-time feedback on grip pressure, which prevents excessive force from being applied during a swing and allows for a stable golf swing while maintaining appropriate grip pressure.

[0087] 4th embodiment

[0088] The fourth embodiment of the present invention differs from the first embodiment in that multiple users are equipped with a sensor module (110) and can share the swing data generated therefrom by storing it in a single database unit (121). It is obvious that any configuration in this embodiment that is identical or similar to the configuration described in the first embodiment can be understood as having the same or similar purpose and producing an effect.

[0089] Hereinafter, a golf swing practice device and method according to a fourth embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 5 and 6.

[0090] First, referring to FIG. 5, a golf swing practice device according to the fourth embodiment of the present invention may have a plurality of users each equipped with sensor modules (110a, 110b, 110c). In FIG. 5, three sensor modules (110a, 110b, 110c) are shown, but the number is not limited thereto.

[0091] Multiple swing data generated by multiple users can be stored in a single database unit (121). Additionally, the storage location of the swing data within the database unit (121) can be varied according to each user's score, thereby allowing for the calculation of an optimal range for each score. By calculating the optimal range using the swing data of multiple users, each user can identify bad habits they were previously unaware of.

[0092] Next, referring to FIG. 6, a golf swing practice method according to the fourth embodiment of the present invention may further include a practice difficulty selection step (S61) and a practice swing step (S62).

[0093] Here, the practice difficulty selection step (S61) may be a step of selecting one of a practice mode and an advanced practice mode. The practice mode may be a mode that generates newly detected swing data and provides analysis results and feedback by comparing it with the optimal range of the section the user is currently in, and the advanced practice mode may be a mode that generates newly detected swing data and provides analysis results and feedback by comparing it with the optimal range of a section higher than the section the user is currently in.

[0094] For example, the section where swing data of a user with a score of less than 0 relative to even par is stored can be set as the first section, the section where swing data of a user with a score of 0 or more but less than 5 is stored as the second section, and the section where swing data of a user with a score of 5 or more is stored as the third section, and the boundaries of each section can be arbitrarily set by the user. When the user's score is included in the second section, if the practice mode is selected, the result generation unit (123) generates an analysis result by comparing the optimal range of the second section with the newly detected swing data, and if the advanced practice mode is selected, the result generation unit (123) generates an analysis result by comparing the optimal range of the first section with the newly detected swing data.

[0095] After selecting one of the practice mode and advanced practice mode described above in the practice difficulty selection step (S61), the user can proceed to the practice swing step (S62).

[0096] This allows users to set relatively appropriate goals for their current skill level, and by setting goals, they can feel interest and a sense of accomplishment in practice and practice their golf swing more effectively.

[0098] Although the present invention has been described above by limited embodiments and drawings, the present invention is not limited thereto, and various implementations are possible within the scope of the technical spirit of the present invention and the equivalent scope of the claims described below by those skilled in the art to which the present invention belongs.
