Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to an interactive storytelling service provision system, method, and apparatus, and more specifically, to an interactive storytelling service provision system, method, and apparatus for providing interactive storytelling content based on user characteristics. Background Technology

[0002] The development of interactive media is accelerating due to the widespread adoption of personal devices such as smartphones. These personal devices have broadened the range of users who enjoy content, allowing people to easily watch movies, dramas, and animations, or play games, regardless of location. In particular, interactive media such as games triggers a response to user input, thereby generating and sustaining interest, and enables immersion without being disturbed by the surrounding environment of the place where the content is being used.

[0003] The nature of content consumption through media is becoming personalized, and interactivity has become a core means of media. Meanwhile, animation, which is considered the epitome of linear storytelling, is also being required to expand its genre and diversify its format; in the era of one-person media, interactivity—a keyword encompassing both the present and the future—is leading this change.

[0004] Recent animation is moving away from the traditional concept of complete content and is being utilized in various ways as source content. In other words, rather than conventional linear animation where audiences passively watch a story created by writers, producers, directors, and animators, attempts are being made to create interactions within platforms planned by animators and programmers that receive audience input to bring about different story outcomes.

[0005] Furthermore, with the recent commercialization of 5G mobile communication, virtual reality and augmented reality technologies that allow users to enjoy content such as movies and games with greater immersion are gaining attention. However, there is a shortage of content that users can enjoy continuously. To produce such content, storytelling that allows users to become engrossed must be included.

[0006] Storytelling is a compound word formed from "story" and "telling," literally meaning "to tell a story." It is the act of persuasively conveying what one wishes to communicate to others through interesting and vivid narratives. Used in fields such as literature, film, and education, storytelling involves conveying events and narratives through words, images, and sounds.

[0007] The scope of the content business is expanding due to the advancement of transmedia. Consequently, there is an increasing effort to develop and commercialize content authoring tools to facilitate active interaction between creators and users, as well as among users themselves.

[0009] The technology forming the background of the invention is disclosed in Korean Registered Patent Publication No. 10-2339449 (published Dec. 14, 2021). The problem to be solved

[0010] The present invention has been devised to solve the above-mentioned problems, and the technical objective of the present invention is to provide an interactive storytelling service provision system, method, and apparatus that provide interactive storytelling content based on user characteristics using the Enneagram, a personality type system.

[0011] In addition, the purpose is to provide an interactive storytelling service provision system, method, and device that reflects a character of the same personality type as the user classified by the Enneagram into AJ Greimas' Actor Model based on semiotics, sets the subject—that is, a character of the same personality type as the user—as the protagonist of the story, and reconstructs a story with the same value system as the user's personality type from different perspectives and themes to provide storytelling content tailored to the individual user. means of solving the problem

[0012] An interactive storytelling service providing system according to an embodiment of the present invention for achieving such technical challenges includes: a user terminal that supports access to the application or web page and transmits a user personality type; and an interactive storytelling service providing device that inputs the input personality type into a pre-prepared scenario development model to determine the scenario development direction of the storytelling content and provides the storytelling content proceeding according to the determined direction to the user terminal.

[0013] In addition, the interactive storytelling service providing device determines whether the user knows their personality type based on information input from the user terminal. If, as a result of the determination, the user knows their personality type, it provides the Enneagram, which horizontally classifies human personality types, to the user terminal to receive the user's personality type. If the user does not know their personality type, it interacts with an external API server to receive the test results provided by the external API server to the user terminal and analyzes the user's personality type, or it provides a test situation scenario to the user terminal and analyzes the user's personality type using the scenario results based on the input content, and receives the analyzed personality type.

[0014] In addition, the interactive storytelling service providing device may provide storytelling content in which the scenario unfolds by setting the personality characteristics of the character who is the subject of the storytelling content to be identical to the user's personality type and inputting them into the scenario development model, and determining the characteristics of the target, helper, and antagonist according to the input result.

[0015] In addition, the above scenario development model may be a semiotics-based actor model in which the relationships and roles among each actor, including helpers, adversaries, senders, and receivers, centered on the subject and the object, are determined according to the direction of integration and division.

[0016] In addition, the interactive storytelling service providing device can determine the direction of the scenario development by expanding the detailed elements that determine the characteristics of the helper, antagonist, and sender among the actors.

[0017] Additionally, a method for providing an interactive storytelling service according to another embodiment of the present invention comprises: receiving a user's personality type from a user terminal accessed via a mobile application or a web page; inputting the input personality type into a scenario development model to determine the scenario development direction of the storytelling content; and providing the storytelling content that proceeds according to the determined direction to the user terminal.

[0018] Additionally, the input receiving step may include a step of determining whether the user knows their personality type based on information input from the user terminal; a step of, if the user knows their personality type based on the determination result, providing the Enneagram, which horizontally classifies human personality types, to the user terminal to receive the user's personality type; and, if the user does not know their personality type, a step of analyzing the user's personality type by receiving the test results transmitted by the external API server through interaction with an external API server, or analyzing the user's personality type by providing a test situation scenario to the user terminal and using the scenario results based on the input content, and receiving the analyzed personality type.

[0019] In addition, the step of determining the development direction may involve setting the personality traits of the character who is the subject of the storytelling content to be identical to the user's personality type and inputting them into the scenario development model, and determining the characteristics of the target, helper, and antagonist based on the input result to determine the development direction of the scenario.

[0020] In addition, the above scenario development model may be a semiotics-based actor model in which the relationships and roles among each actor, including helpers, adversaries, senders, and receivers, centered on the subject and the object, are determined according to the direction of integration and division.

[0021] In addition, the step of determining the direction of development can determine the direction of development of the scenario by expanding the detailed elements that determine the characteristics of the helper, antagonist, and sender among the actors.

[0022] Additionally, an interactive storytelling service providing device according to another embodiment of the present invention includes: an input unit that receives a user's personality type from a user terminal accessed through the application or web page; a scenario development unit that inputs the received personality type into a scenario development model to determine the scenario development direction of the storytelling content and develops the scenario according to the determined direction; and a providing unit that provides storytelling content corresponding to the scenario to the user terminal.

[0023] Additionally, the system further includes a judgment unit that determines whether the user knows their personality type based on information input from the user terminal. The input unit, based on the judgment result of the judgment unit, if the user knows their personality type, provides the user terminal with an Enneagram that horizontally classifies human personality types to receive the user's personality type input; if the user does not know their personality type, the system interacts with an external API server to receive the test results transmitted by the external API server, which provides a simplified Enneagram test to the user terminal, and analyzes the user's personality type, or provides a test situation scenario to the user terminal and analyzes the user's personality type using the scenario results based on the input content, and receives the analyzed personality type input.

[0024] In addition, the scenario development unit sets the personality traits of the character who is the subject of the storytelling content to be identical to the user's personality type and inputs them into the scenario development model, and based on the input result, the characteristics of the target, helper, and antagonist are determined, and the scenario can be developed according to the determined direction.

[0025] In addition, the above-mentioned scenario development model is a semiotics-based actor model in which the relationships and roles among each actor, including helpers, adversaries, senders, and receivers, centered on the subject and the object, are determined according to the direction of integration and division, and the above-mentioned scenario development unit can determine the direction of the scenario development by expanding the detailed elements that determine the characteristics of helpers, adversaries, and senders among the actors of the above-mentioned actor model. Effects of the invention

[0026] As such, according to the present invention, by utilizing the Enneagram, a personality type system, interactive storytelling content based on user characteristics can be provided, thereby enabling the production of storytelling content tailored to the user's preferences, convenience, and needs, which not only maximizes user satisfaction but also enhances the effectiveness of the provided application.

[0027] In addition, according to the present invention, by reflecting a character of the same personality type as the user classified by the Enneagram into Greimas’s semiotics-based actor model, the subject—that is, a character of the same personality as the user—is set as the protagonist of the story, and by reconstructing a story with the same value system as the user’s personality type into different perspectives and themes, user-centered storytelling content can be provided, which has the effect of doubling the user’s responsiveness and interest. [0029] Preferred embodiments according to the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the attached drawings. In this process, the thickness of lines or the size of components shown in the drawings may be exaggerated for clarity and convenience of explanation.

[0030] Furthermore, the terms described below are defined in consideration of their functions within the present invention, and these may vary depending on the intent or practice of the user or operator. Therefore, the definitions of these terms should be based on the content throughout this specification.

[0031] Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the drawings.

[0033] First, an interactive storytelling service providing system according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 7.

[0034] FIG. 1 is a system configuration diagram showing an interactive storytelling service providing system according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0035] As shown in FIG. 1, an interactive storytelling service providing system according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a user terminal (100) and an interactive storytelling service providing device (200).

[0036] First, the user terminal (100) supports access to an application or web page and transmits the user personality type.

[0037] More specifically, the user terminal (100) is a terminal possessed by a user who wishes to receive an interactive storytelling service, and may be a device such as a smartphone, pad, desktop, PC, notebook, or tablet, and may be network-connected to an interactive storytelling service providing device (200) through a wired or wireless communication network. At this time, the user terminal (100) may be a device that has registered or authenticated through the web or an app.

[0038] Accordingly, the user terminal (100) receives input of its personality type from a user who accessed it through a mobile application or web page.

[0039] And the interactive storytelling service providing device (200) inputs the personality type entered through the user terminal (100) into a pre-prepared scenario development model to determine the scenario development direction of the storytelling content, and provides the storytelling content that proceeds according to the determined direction to the user terminal (100).

[0040] At this time, the interactive storytelling service providing device (200) may be in the form of a server for providing interactive storytelling services to a user terminal (100) connected to an online platform implemented as a web or mobile application. Here, the mobile application can be downloaded and installed from a mobile application market (e.g., Google Play, App Store), which is a virtual marketplace for freely buying and selling mobile content.

[0041] And the interactive storytelling service providing device (200) sets the personality traits of the character who is the subject of the storytelling content to be the same as the user's personality type and inputs them into a scenario development model, and provides storytelling content in which the characteristics of the target, helper, and antagonist are determined according to the input result and the scenario is developed.

[0042] In this case, the scenario development model in the embodiment of the present invention may apply a semiotics-based actor model in which the relationships and roles between each actor, including helpers, adversaries, senders, and receivers, centered on the subject and the object, are determined according to the direction of integration and division.

[0043] Here, it is desirable to apply the actor model of semiotician A.J. Greimas; specifically, it is a method that traces the relationships and roles between actors centered on the subject and the object. This method functionally reconstructs surface-manifested signs at the content level, enabling an understanding of the functions of actors related to the acquisition of the object and the narrative context. Consequently, it provides the possibility of identifying the underlying implied meanings.

[0044] The scenario development model in the embodiment of the present invention can determine the direction of scenario development differently by expanding the detailed elements that determine the characteristics of helpers, adversaries, and senders among the actors.

[0046] Hereinafter, an interactive storytelling service device according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. 2.

[0047] FIG. 2 is a block diagram showing an interactive storytelling service providing device illustrated in FIG. 1.

[0048] As shown in FIG. 2, an interactive storytelling service device (200) according to an embodiment of the present invention includes an input unit (210), a judgment unit (220), a scenario development unit (230), and a provision unit (240).

[0049] First, the input unit (210) receives the user's personality type from the user terminal (100) accessed through an application or web page.

[0050] And, the judgment unit (220) determines whether the user knows their personality type based on information input from the user terminal (100).

[0051] Accordingly, the input unit (210), based on the judgment result of the judgment unit (220), if the user knows their personality type, provides an Enneagram that horizontally classifies human personality types to the user terminal (100) to receive the user's personality type, and if the user does not know their personality type, it may analyze the user's personality type by linking with an external API server, where the external API server provides a simplified Enneagram test to the user terminal (100) and receives the test results, or provide a test situation scenario to the user terminal (100) and analyze the user's personality type using the scenario results based on the input content and receive the analyzed personality type.

[0052] FIG. 3 is an example diagram of the classification of the Enneagram according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 4 is a diagram exemplarily illustrating the direction of integration and disintegration of the Enneagram according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0053] As illustrated in Figures 3 and 4, the Enneagram not only classifies human personality into nine basic types horizontally, but also explains the constantly changing state within a single personality through a vertical system of developmental levels and directions of integration and disintegration.

[0054] In an embodiment of the present invention, a new concept of storytelling content narrative method can be implemented by utilizing such an Enneagram to maximize the functional effectiveness of content tailored to user needs.

[0055] Table 1 below shows the Enneagrams provided to the user terminal (100) in a table format.

[0056]

[0057] As shown in Table 1, each type has a healthy range, an average range, and an unhealthy range, and within each range, there are three levels.

[0058] First, the healthy range (Levels 1 to 3) represents the strengths of each type. The average range (Levels 4 to 6) represents the average behavior of that type. This is determined by examining where we find ourselves most frequently. Finally, the unhealthy range (Levels 7 to 9) represents the dysfunction of that type.

[0059] When a type descends to an unhealthy lower level, personality traits opposite to those of that type may emerge. Therefore, it is nearly impossible to generalize types without considering their level of development.

[0060] And, the scenario development unit (230) inputs the personality type entered into the input unit (210) into the scenario development model to determine the direction of scenario development of the storytelling content, and develops the scenario according to the determined direction.

[0061] That is, the scenario development unit (230) sets the personality characteristics of the character who is the subject of the storytelling content to be the same as the personality type of the user input from the user terminal (100) and inputs them into the scenario development model, and the characteristics of the target, helper, and antagonist are determined according to the input result and the scenario can be developed according to the determined direction.

[0062] In this case, the scenario development model may be a semiotics-based actor model in which the relationships and roles among each actor, including helpers, antagonists, senders, and receivers, centered on the subject and the object, are determined according to the direction of integration and division.

[0063] FIG. 5 is a drawing illustrating an actor model according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 6 is a drawing illustrating a method of applying the actor model illustrated in FIG. 5.

[0064] As shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the personality traits of the story subject (e.g., protagonist), that is, the actor, are determined with characteristics identical to the user's personality type, and the determined traits are input into the actor model to determine the object of value and desire. That is, as soon as the type of the subject is determined, the integrated (wing) type is characterized as a helper and the split type as an antagonist; the genre changes according to the most important value of the sender, who is the originator of the story (e.g., if the core value is 'love,' it changes to a genre of warm sentiment; if it is 'power,' it can change to adventure and political drama, etc.), and the object that the subject must obtain and win through adventure changes. Accordingly, the recipient who becomes happy through the protagonist's achievement of value at the end may also change. Therefore, according to an embodiment of the present invention, different personalities are assigned to the characters, and nine or more types of storytelling content may be provided in which the lesson, appreciation, and satisfaction of the ending match the user's values.

[0065] That is, according to an embodiment of the present invention, it is possible to create a storytelling method that allows for the creation of nine or more different scenarios with different developments while utilizing the same character, assets, and resources by using an actor model such as FIGS. 5 and FIGS. 6.

[0066] Additionally, the scenario development section (230) may determine the direction of scenario development by expanding the detailed elements that determine the characteristics of the helper, antagonist, and sender among the actors.

[0067] Figure 7 is an example diagram illustrating the actor model illustrated in Figure 5 in detail.

[0068] Figure 7 illustrates an extension of Greimas's actor model of storytelling in relation to traditional storytelling, and in an embodiment of the present invention, this can be used to further improve the completeness of the storytelling content.

[0069] To explain with reference to Fig. 7, the actor is the 'protagonist' and 'hero' of the story, as well as the 'user' and 'subject'. They possess innate physical, social, and personality deficiencies and embark on an adventure upon receiving a calling from the sender. Here, the sender receives the call of calling through historical events, accidental circumstances, and fateful connections, and forms a confrontational structure with an antagonist who pursues a common goal. At this time, the helper directly or indirectly fills the actor's deficiencies and provides sacrifice and support at decisive moments. The receiver can be represented by individual, public, and global influences and results obtained as a consequence of the object achieved in different ways depending on the actor's pursuit of values. Therefore, user-centered interactive storytelling according to the embodiment of the present invention can generate a continuous story through roles based on semiotic storytelling analysis and variable events of the traditional method, and can provide different endings or different user experiences with the same ending.

[0070] Finally, the providing unit (240) provides storytelling content corresponding to the scenario developed in the scenario development unit (230) to the user terminal (100).

[0071] Accordingly, according to an embodiment of the present invention, as user participation and intervention are possible during the development of storytelling content, conventional stories can be reused to provide user-customized interactive storytelling content based on user characteristics.

[0073] Hereinafter, an interactive storytelling service provision method according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 8 and 9.

[0074] FIG. 8 is a flowchart illustrating the operation flow of an interactive storytelling service provision method according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 9 is a flowchart illustrating the detailed operation flow of step S10 shown in FIG. 8, and the specific operation of the present invention will be explained with reference thereto.

[0075] According to an embodiment of the present invention, first, the input unit (210) of the interactive storytelling service providing device (200) receives input of a user's personality type from a user terminal (100) accessed through a mobile application or web page (S10).

[0076] At this time, in step S10, the judgment unit (220) determines whether the user knows their personality type based on information input from the user terminal (100) (S11).

[0077] As a result of the judgment in step S11, if the user knows their own personality type, the input unit (210) provides the Enneagram, which horizontally classifies human personality types, to the user terminal (100) to receive the user's personality type as input (S12).

[0078] However, if the user does not know their personality type as a result of the judgment in step S11, the input unit (210) is linked with an external API server, and the external API server provides a simplified Enneagram test to the user terminal (100) and receives the test results to analyze the user's personality type, or provides a test situation scenario to the user terminal (100) and analyzes the user's personality type using the scenario results based on the input content and receives the analyzed personality type (S13).

[0079] And the input unit (210) inputs the personality type of the user received in step S12 or S13 (S14).

[0080] Next, the scenario development unit (230) inputs the personality type entered in step S14 into the scenario development model to determine the direction of the scenario development of the storytelling content (S20).

[0081] At this time, step S20 sets the personality traits of the character who is the subject of the storytelling content to be the same as the user's personality type and inputs them into the scenario development model, and based on the input result, the characteristics of the target, helper, and antagonist are determined to determine the direction of the scenario development (S30).

[0082] In this case, it is desirable to apply a semiotics-based actor model to the scenario development model, in which the relationships and roles of each actor—including helpers, antagonists, senders, and receivers—are determined according to the direction of integration and division, centering on the subject and the object.

[0083] Therefore, the direction of scenario development can also be determined by expanding the detailed elements that determine the characteristics of helpers, adversaries, and senders among the actors in the actor model.

[0084] Finally, the providing unit (240) provides storytelling content to the user terminal (100) according to the direction determined in step S30.

[0086] The method for providing an interactive storytelling service according to an embodiment of the present invention has been described above.

[0087] The method for providing an interactive storytelling service according to an embodiment of the present invention as described above may be provided in the form of a computer-readable medium suitable for storing computer program instructions and data.

[0088] In particular, the computer program of the present invention may execute steps such as receiving a user's personality type from a user terminal accessed through a mobile application or web page, inputting the input personality type into a scenario development model to determine the scenario development direction of the storytelling content, and providing the storytelling content that proceeds according to the determined direction to the user terminal.

[0089] Such computer-readable recording media may include program instructions, data files, data structures, etc., either individually or in combination, and include all types of recording devices in which data that can be read by a computer system is stored. Examples of computer-readable recording media include magnetic media such as hard disks, floppy disks, and magnetic tapes; optical recording media such as CD-ROMs (Compact Disk Read Only Memory) and DVDs (Digital Video Disks); magneto-optical media such as floptical disks; and hardware devices specifically configured to store and execute program instructions, such as ROM (Read Only Memory), RAM (Random Access Memory), and flash memory.

[0090] In addition, computer-readable recording media are distributed across networked computer systems, allowing computer-readable code to be stored and executed in a distributed manner. Furthermore, functional programs, codes, and code segments for implementing the present invention can be easily inferred by programmers skilled in the art to which the present invention pertains.

[0091] According to the present invention as described above, by utilizing the Enneagram, a personality type system, interactive storytelling content based on user characteristics can be provided, thereby enabling the production of storytelling content tailored to the user's preferences, convenience, and needs, which not only maximizes user satisfaction but also enhances the effectiveness of the provided application.

[0092] In addition, by reflecting a character of the same personality type as the user classified by the Enneagram into Greimas’s semiotics-based actor model, and setting the subject—that is, a character of the same personality type as the user—as the protagonist of the story, it is possible to provide user-centered storytelling content by reconstructing a story with the same value system as the user’s personality type from different perspectives and themes, which has the effect of doubling user responsiveness and interest.

[0093] The present invention has been described with reference to embodiments illustrated in the drawings, but this is merely illustrative, and those skilled in the art will understand that various modifications and equivalent alternative embodiments are possible therefrom. Accordingly, the true technical scope of protection of the present invention should be determined by the technical spirit of the following claims. Explanation of the symbols
