Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a commercial building energy consumption reduction control system and method utilizing hydrothermal energy. Background Technology
[0002] In conventional building energy systems, single units such as heat pumps and boilers were utilized to handle the building's heating, cooling, and hot water loads. Additionally, the electricity required by the building is produced at a central power plant and supplied to the building through the power grid.
[0003] Figure 1 is a diagram showing a building energy supply system.
[0004] Referring to FIG. 1, the building energy supply system can receive energy from an energy source (110), such as a grid (111), natural gas (112), and water supply (113), and supply electricity to the building load (120) or provide heating and cooling. Electricity supplied from the grid (111) can directly supply electricity (121) to the building load (120) and can supply electricity to a cooling tower (131) and an electric cooler (132). The electric cooler (132) can receive electricity from the grid (111) and cool the building space (112) through a cooling coil (133). Additionally, natural gas (112) is supplied to a first gas boiler (134), and the first gas boiler (134) can heat the building space (123) through a heating coil (135). The above natural gas (112) is supplied to a second gas boiler (136) and heats the water supply (113) through a heat exchanger (137) to supply hot water (124) to the building.
[0005] The aforementioned conventional building energy supply system relies heavily on electricity produced from a central power plant, which entails high primary energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. Furthermore, multi-generation systems introduced to improve conventional building energy systems operate combined heat and power (CHP) generators based on simple control logic, resulting in limited reductions in primary energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions compared to conventional systems. Additionally, following conventional control logic leads to a surplus of energy produced by CHP generators after meeting the building's load, resulting in the waste of significant amounts of electrical and thermal energy.
[0006] Therefore, a system capable of maximizing the performance of the building energy supply system through integrated control logic is required. Prior art literature

[0032] FIG. 2 is a drawing showing a commercial building energy consumption reduction control system utilizing hydrothermal energy according to an embodiment of the present invention.
[0033] Referring to FIG. 2, a commercial building energy consumption reduction control system utilizing hydrothermal energy can receive energy from an energy source (110) such as a grid (111), natural gas (112), water supply (113), hydrothermal source (114), and solar power (115), and can supply electricity to or heat / cool a building load (120).
[0034] According to various embodiments, electricity supplied from the grid (111) may be stored in a battery (211) (or a battery energy storage system (BESS)). The electrical energy stored in the battery (211) may supply electricity (121) to a building load (120).
[0035] According to various embodiments, natural gas (112) may be supplied to a combined heat and power generator (220) (e.g., a prime mover). The combined heat and power generator (220) may produce electrical energy and thermal energy from the supplied natural gas.
[0036] According to various embodiments, the combined heat and power generator (220) may include a power generation unit (221), a heat recovery unit (222), and a controller (223). The controller (223) may control various equipment of the system, including the combined heat and power generator (220). For example, the controller (223) may be placed outside the combined heat and power generator (220).
[0037] According to various embodiments, the power generation unit (221) of the combined heat and power generator (220) may receive the natural gas (112) to produce electricity, and the produced electricity may be stored in the battery (221). The heat recovery unit (222) of the combined heat and power generator (220) may recover waste heat generated during the power production process of the combined heat and power generator (220) and store it in the thermal storage tank (230). An auxiliary boiler (232) provided separately from the combined heat and power generator (220) may receive the natural gas (112) to generate thermal energy and store the generated thermal energy in the thermal storage tank (230).
[0038] According to various embodiments, thermal energy supplied from a water source (114) can be supplied to a cooling / heat pump (or thermal pump) (213) and an absorption cooler (214) through a first heat exchanger (212) (plate heat exchanger). The cooling / heat pump (213) operates by receiving electricity from a battery (213) and can supply thermal energy supplied from the water source (113) to a cooling coil (216) or a heating coil (231). A second heat exchanger (215) is disposed between the absorption cooler (214) and the thermal storage tank (230) to supply thermal energy to the regenerator of the absorption cooler.
[0039] According to various embodiments, the cooling coil (216) may handle the cooling (122) of the building load by utilizing the cooling / heat pump (213) or the absorption cooler (214). The heating coil (231) may handle the heating (123) of the building load by utilizing the cooling / heat pump (213) or the thermal storage tank (230).
[0040] According to various embodiments, the PVT (240) may generate electrical energy and / or thermal energy by receiving solar energy / heat from solar energy (113). The electrical energy generated by the PVT (240) may be stored in a battery (211). The thermal energy generated by the PVT (240) may be stored in a thermal storage tank (230) via a third heat exchanger (241) and a fourth heat exchanger (241). According to various embodiments, the water supply (133) supplied to the building may supply hot water (124) to the building via the third heat exchanger (241) and the fourth heat exchanger (242).
[0041] Meanwhile, if the combined heat and power generator (220) is operated by considering only the electrical energy required by the building (e.g., electric tracking method) or by considering only the thermal energy required by the building (e.g., thermal tracking method), energy efficiency may be reduced. For example, referring to FIG. 4, if the combined heat and power generator is controlled by the electric tracking method according to conventional control logic, a heat shortage and a heat surplus may occur.
[0042] Referring to FIG. 4, PLR (Part load ratio) represents the partial load rate of the combined heat and power generator (220), and as it approaches 1 from 0, it operates closer to the rated capacity of the combined heat and power generator (220). PLR E and PLR Q represents the load rate of the electricity and heat production parts, respectively. As the combined heat and power generator (220) produces electricity and heat simultaneously, it exhibits a proportional linear performance curve as shown in FIG. 4.
[0043] Meanwhile, the electrical energy required by the building is E user and the thermal energy required by the building is Q user When this is done, the building's load exhibits an equivalent load curve as illustrated. At this time, if the combined heat and power generator (220) is controlled in an electric tracking manner according to conventional control logic, a heat shortage or excess heat may occur as illustrated in Fig. 4. Consequently, the energy produced by the combined heat and power generator (220) remains after satisfying the building's load, and a large amount of electrical and thermal energy may be wasted.
[0044] In the embodiment described below, as shown in FIG. 6, the capacity of the battery and the thermal storage capacity of the thermal storage tank are maintained at a constant level by the controller (223), and as shown in FIG. 5, the thermal efficiency can be maximized by controlling the thermal power generator (220) so that the equivalent load thermal ratio according to the equivalent load curve and the thermal ratio according to the performance curve of the thermal power generator (220) match.
[0045] FIG. 3 is a flowchart illustrating a method for controlling the reduction of energy consumption in commercial buildings using hydrothermal energy according to an embodiment of the present invention.
[0046] Referring to FIG. 3, the commercial building energy consumption reduction control system utilizing hydrothermal energy according to the present invention can receive external data and store it in a storage unit (302). The external data may include a building load profile, a hydrothermal temperature profile, weather conditions, an air conditioning system performance map, and a performance curve of a combined heat and power generator (220) (e.g., a prime mover). For example, the performance curve may be determined according to the type of combined heat and power generator (220).
[0047] In addition, according to an embodiment of the present invention, the system can set the capacity of the prime mover and the air conditioning system, set the capacity of the energy storage system (e.g., battery, thermal storage tank), and set the control logic. (304)
[0048] Next, according to an embodiment of the present invention, the system can generate an initial equivalent load curve (306). The initial equivalent load curve represents the electrical energy (E) required by the building as shown in FIG. 5. user ) and thermal energy (Q user It can be represented in the form of a curve based on ). For example, the above initial equivalent load curve can be generated depending on the capacity of the hybrid air conditioning system.
[0049] Next, according to an embodiment of the present invention, the system can monitor an internal storage system (308). For example, the system can check the amount of heat stored in the heat storage tank (230) and the amount of charge in the battery (211). If, as a result of the check, the amount of heat stored and / or the amount of charge is less than or equal to a reference value (e.g., 50%) (310), the initial equivalent load curve can be shifted upward (312). On the other hand, if the amount of heat stored and / or the amount of charge exceeds the reference value (e.g., 50%) (310), the initial equivalent load curve can be shifted downward (314).
[0050] Next, according to an embodiment of the present invention, the system can identify a cooling and heating distribution ratio (α) in which the equivalent load heat-electric ratio and the heat-electric ratio of the combined heat and power generator match, and control the operation of the combined heat and power generator based on a partial load rate corresponding to the identified cooling and heating distribution ratio. For example, the system can compare the equivalent load heat-electric ratio according to the current cooling and heating distribution ratio with the heat-electric ratio of the combined heat and power generator (316). As a result of the comparison, if the equivalent load heat-electric ratio according to the current cooling and heating distribution ratio matches the heat-electric ratio of the combined heat and power generator (318), the combined heat and power generator (220) can be operated at the corresponding partial load rate (322). The fact that the equivalent load heat-electric ratio and the heat-electric ratio of the combined heat and power generator match means the intersection point of the combined heat and power generator performance curve and the equivalent load curve in FIG. 5, and the controller (223) can control the combined heat and power generator (220) to operate at a partial load rate corresponding to the intersection point.
[0051] If, as a result of the above comparison, the equivalent load heat-electric ratio according to the current cooling and heating distribution ratio does not match the heat-electric ratio of the combined heat and power generator (318), the current cooling and heating distribution ratio (α) can be increased by a set value (e.g., Δα) (320) and then compared again. By repeating the above operation, a cooling and heating distribution ratio in which the equivalent load heat-electric ratio and the heat-electric ratio of the combined heat and power generator match can be confirmed. The process of adjusting the cooling and heating distribution ratio in which the equivalent load heat-electric ratio and the heat-electric ratio of the combined heat and power generator match is as follows: on the equivalent load curve of FIG. 5, electrical energy (E user ) and thermal energy (Q user This may refer to the process of moving the coordinates of the combined heat and power generator to a point on the performance curve. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the controller (223) can control the operation of the combined heat and power generator based on a partial load rate corresponding to the identified cooling and heating distribution ratio.
[0052] According to various embodiments, the initial equivalent load curve shifts upward or downward depending on the energy storage distribution of the energy storage system (e.g., thermal storage tank (230), battery (211)) for each mode of FIG. 6 described below. Additionally, the heat-to-electricity ratio of the equivalent load can be adjusted according to changes in the distribution ratio (α) of the cooling and heating load. The controller (223) of the system controls the system through the control logic of FIG. 3 as described above, thereby reaching a point where the heat-to-electricity ratio of the equivalent load matches the heat-to-electricity ratio of the combined heat and power generator (e.g., E in FIG. 5). user * and Q user *) can be found, and the combined heat and power generator can be controlled to operate at a partial load rate corresponding to the matching point.
[0053] According to various embodiments, in a hybrid air conditioning system according to the present invention, as shown in FIG. 1, a cooling / heat pump (213) of electric power and an absorption chiller (214) of thermal power are utilized to handle the cooling load, and a heating load is handled through a cooling / heat pump (213) of electric power and a heating heat exchanger of thermal power. At this time, an equivalent load curve can be drawn as shown in FIG. 5 according to the cooling / heating distribution ratio (α) allocated to electric and thermal power devices. As described above, when the control logic is operated by the controller (223), electric energy (E user ) and thermal energy (Q user ) can prevent energy waste or shortages by matching the performance curve of the combined heat and power generator, and maximize the energy efficiency of the combined heat and power generator.
[0054] According to various embodiments, the system releases stored energy from an energy storage system (e.g., a thermal storage tank (230), a battery (211)) to additionally support the load of the building, and as a result, can reach the electrical and thermal energy load required by the building.
[0055] For example, the combined heat and power generator (220) is operated by taking into account the stored energy in the energy storage system (e.g., thermal storage tank (230), battery (211)) under the control of the controller (223). That is, the combined heat and power generator (220) can overproduce energy than the building's load to replenish / charge the storage system, or underproduce energy to induce heat dissipation / discharge of the storage system.
[0056] FIG. 6 is a graph showing the energy storage distribution of a mode-specific energy storage system according to an embodiment of the present invention.
[0057] Referring to FIG. 6, when the stored energy of the thermal storage tank (230) and the battery (211) exceeds 50% of the capacity, as in Mode 1, the controller (223) can induce heat dissipation and discharge so that the released energy can handle the load of the building. Additionally, when the stored energy of the thermal storage tank (230) and the battery (211) is less than 50% of the capacity, as in Mode 2, the controller (223) can induce heat storage and charging and control the combined heat and power generator (220) to operate in consideration of the energy. Additionally, when the thermal energy stored in the thermal storage tank (230) exceeds 50% of the capacity and the electrical energy stored in the battery (211) is less than 50% of the capacity, heat dissipation and charging can be induced, respectively, as in Mode 3. In addition, as in Mode 4, when the thermal energy stored in the thermal storage tank (230) is less than 50% of the capacity and the electrical energy stored in the battery (211) exceeds 50% of the capacity, thermal storage and discharge can be induced, respectively.
[0058] As described above, the controller (223) can maintain the stored energy of the energy storage system (e.g., thermal storage tank (230), battery (211)) at a constant level through the control logic, which can prevent the energy produced by the combined heat and power generator (220) from being wasted or insufficient.
[0059] FIG. 7 is a graph showing the yearly load distribution in a hospital according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 8 is a graph showing the yearly load distribution in an office according to an embodiment of the present invention.
[0060] Referring to FIGS. 7 and 8, it can be seen that the building load of electrical energy and thermal energy changes according to the season throughout the year. As described above, the system according to the embodiment of the present invention maintains the stored energy of the energy storage system (e.g., thermal storage tank (230), battery (211)) constant by means of control logic, and checks the distribution ratio of the heating and cooling load to maintain the electrical energy (E user ) and thermal energy (Q user By controlling it to match the performance curve of the combined heat and power generator, it is possible to prevent energy waste or shortage and maximize the energy efficiency of the combined heat and power generator.
