Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a reel holder for elastically suspending a positive pressure hose by connecting it to a mounting rod in a positive pressure hose holder for flexibly mounting a positive pressure hose for a patient. Background Technology
[0002] Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) refers to a condition in which the upper airway repeatedly closes during sleep, causing breathing to temporarily stop or become shallow. This leads to a decrease in oxygen saturation and disrupts deep sleep, which can result in various secondary diseases such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension, myocardial infarction, and stroke. A representative therapeutic device designed to address these issues is the Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine. It operates a turbine fan within the unit to generate air at a positive pressure higher than ambient pressure, delivering it to a mask through a hose to keep the patient's upper airway continuously open during sleep. The hose is an essential component connecting the CPAP unit to the patient's mask, playing the role of maintaining constant air temperature, humidity, and pressure while delivering it to the body.
[0003] However, in these conventional CPAP systems, the hose is designed to pass directly over the sleeper's body or hang loosely over the bed, causing various problems when the patient changes position during sleep as the hose comes into contact with or is pulled against the body. For instance, the tension of the hose may pull on the mask, compromising airtightness and causing air leakage; the hose may touch the face, arms, or neck, disturbing sleep with discomfort or noise; or the hose may twist or fall off the bed during position changes, reducing the device's pressure delivery efficiency.
[0004] To address these issues, simple stands have been proposed that hang the hose from the top or support it at a fixed position; however, most conventional technologies have simple structures that cannot actively respond to patient movements. In other words, they merely maintain the hose at a certain height and lack the structural flexibility to absorb changes in hose length or direction, leaving the problem of tension still being transmitted to the mask.
[0005] In particular, when the component connecting the hose to the support rod was configured with a fixed connection method, it failed to effectively cushion hose movement when the patient changed position, resulting in reduced mask seal or air leakage. To address these requirements, the connection structure suspending the hose had to be equipped with length adjustment and elastic return functions, and a mechanism was needed to absorb the amount of hose movement according to user movements.
[0006] Accordingly, the possibility of applying a reel structure in which a wire is wound internally, allowing it to be withdrawn when necessary and return to its original position by itself after use has been raised. The reel provides an automatic withdrawal and return function, enabling the hose to move naturally in accordance with changes in the sleeper's posture, and prevents the generation of excessive tension, thereby improving the airtightness of the mask and the pressure maintenance stability of the CPAP machine.
[0007] However, conventional reel systems were mainly intended for industrial or everyday use, such as tool hangers, key retractors, and automatic electric cord winders, and there were few cases where they were designed to be miniaturized, quieter, lighter, or to meet hygiene requirements suitable for mounting medical hoses. In addition, reel holders specialized in a structure that can be directly coupled to a mounting rod or hose have not been proposed.
[0008] Therefore, there was a need for a reel holder that can be connected to a mounting rod or hose so as to be used in a positive airway pressure (PAP) hose holder, includes a wire winding structure, and can be smoothly extended and retracted according to the sleeper's movements. In response to this technical requirement, the present invention aims to fundamentally improve the problem of hose interference during sleep by providing a reel holder structure that elastically suspends the hose connection. [0011] The objective of the present invention is to resolve the discomfort caused by the hose touching or being pulled against the sleeper's body during the use of a CPAP machine for treating sleep apnea. Additionally, the invention provides a flexible suspension structure that maintains the CPAP hose at a distance from the sleeper while absorbing the amount of movement of the hose and relieving tension according to changes in body position. By applying a reel holder that winds an elastic wire internally as a connecting means, the hose length is automatically adjusted and returned, allowing the hose to move naturally. Other objectives of the present invention can all be achieved through the detailed description of the invention, which is explained with reference to the attached drawings. means of solving the problem
[0013] To solve such problems, the positive pressure hose holder of the present invention comprises: a mounting rod capable of preventing sleep interference by suspending the positive pressure hose, which is connected by a connecting means at one or more mutually spaced points to a positive pressure hose extending from a positive pressure main body that generates and supplies positive pressure sufficient to open and maintain the sleeper's airway, thereby separating the remaining portion, excluding a connection area including a mask interface of the positive pressure hose, from the sleeper; and a mounting rod fixing means for fixing the mounting rod at a position desired by the sleeper; wherein the connecting means is a reel holder with a wire wound inside, and the reel holder comprises: a coupling part coupled to one of the mounting rod or the positive pressure hose; a reel holder main body having the coupling part formed protruding outwardly, a central axis formed inside for winding the wire, and a wire inlet formed to allow the wire end to be drawn in outwardly; a winding part for winding the wire on an outer surface; and an elastic spring inserted inside the winding part to provide rotational elastic force to the winding part. and a bearing for facilitating rotation between the winding portion and the central axis; wherein the wire end is connected to the mounting rod or the other one of the positive pressure hose, and the central axis of the reel holder body includes a bearing mounting portion in which the bearing is installed, and a locking groove portion extending in series from the bearing mounting portion and in which the elastic spring is installed so as to fix the inner end of the elastic spring, and on the inner surface of the winding portion, a bearing mounting portion disposed facing the bearing mounting portion and in which the bearing is mounted, and a spring mounting portion disposed facing the locking groove portion and having a cut portion formed to fix the outer end of the elastic spring are formed.

[0015] In addition, as another aspect of the present invention, the reel holder of the present invention comprises a reel holder body having a central axis formed therein, a winding part rotatably installed on the central axis and winding one end of a wire fixed to an outer surface, an elastic spring inserted into the winding part to provide rotational elastic force to the winding part, and a bearing to facilitate rotation between the winding part and the central axis, and the other end of the wire is configured to be fed to the outside through a wire inlet formed in the reel holder body.
[0016] In addition, the central axis of the reel holder body in the present invention may include a bearing installation part in which the bearing is installed, and a locking groove part in which the elastic spring is installed so as to extend in series from the bearing installation part and the inner end of the elastic spring is fixed.
[0017] In addition, in the present invention, on the inner surface of the winding portion, a bearing mounting portion is formed that is positioned opposite the bearing installation portion and on which the bearing is mounted, and a spring mounting portion is formed that is positioned opposite the locking groove portion and has an incision formed therein to fix the outer end of the elastic spring. Effects of the invention
[0019] According to the CPAP hose holder of the present invention, the hose can be prevented from touching or being pulled against the sleeper's body during sleep, thereby effectively resolving discomfort or sleep disturbance caused by hose contact. Furthermore, the reel holder used in the CPAP hose holder of the present invention has a structure in which an internal wire is elastically wound and pulled out, allowing the position of the hose to change smoothly and the tension to be cushioned in accordance with changes in the sleeper's body position or upper limb movements. Consequently, problems such as mask detachment, airtightness failure, and pressure leakage caused by the hose being pulled can be effectively prevented. Additionally, as a portion of the hose remains suspended in the air, foreign body sensations, dragging, and friction noises caused by the hose contacting the body, bedding, or surrounding structures can be minimized. This significantly reduces factors that disturb sleep, resulting in improved sleep quality and treatment compliance for the user. Moreover, by applying a reel structure, the user can allow the hose to move naturally with their movements without the need for separate length adjustments or position fixing. This makes the use of the holder more intuitive and convenient, enabling continuous use not only in medical environments but also at home. Brief explanation of the drawing

Specific details for implementing the invention
[0022] Preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the attached drawings. Terms and words used in this specification and claims are not to be interpreted as being limited to their ordinary or dictionary meanings, but should be interpreted in a meaning and concept consistent with the technical details of the present invention.
[0023] FIG. 1 is a side view showing the overall configuration of a positive pressure hose holder according to one embodiment of the present invention. Referring to FIG. 1, the positive pressure hose holder of the present invention includes a mounting rod (100) and a mounting rod fixing means (300).
[0024] The above mounting rod (100) is connected by a connecting means (200) at one or more separated points to a positive pressure hose (10) that extends from a positive pressure device body that generates and supplies sufficient positive pressure to open and maintain the sleeper's airway, thereby suspending the positive pressure hose (10) and separating the remaining part of the positive pressure hose (10), excluding the connection area including the mask interface, from the sleeper to prevent sleep interference.
[0025] The above mounting rod fixing means fixes the above mounting rod (100) to a position desired by the sleeper.
[0026] Here, the connecting means (200) comprises at least two wire ends that are elastically contractible to each other, one wire end is connected to the positive pressure hose (10), and the other wire end is connected to the mounting rod (100).
[0027] In addition, in the present invention, the mounting rod (100) may be composed of a basic mounting rod (110) directly coupled to a mounting rod fixing means (300) and a rotating mounting rod (120) hinge-coupled to the basic mounting rod (110) so as to be configured to change the angle relative to the basic mounting rod (110), and the rotating mounting rod (120) may be composed of a combination of hinge-coupled rotating mounting rods (120).
[0028] In addition, in the present invention, the connecting means (200) is a reel structure configured to elastically wind and pull out the wire end (211) connected to the positive pressure hose (10) and the wire end (213) connected to the mounting rod, and in FIG. 1, the wire is shown pulled out from both sides of the reel, but the concept of the connecting means also includes an embodiment in which one wire end is pulled out only from one side of the reel and the other wire end is fixed inside the reel.
[0029] In addition, in the present invention, the mounting rod fixing means is a support plate (610) that provides a support surface capable of erecting the mounting rod (100) upright against the floor, or a clamp (620) capable of gripping and fixing the mounting rod (100) to the object to be fixed.
[0030] The above support plate (610) is in the form of a general stand and is intended to provide a mounting means that can set up a stand on its own in places where the mounting rod (100) cannot be set up by means of a clamp (620).
[0031] The above clamp (620) performs the function of fixing the mounting rod (100) by gripping it onto the object to be fixed.
[0032] Here, the support plate (610) may be directly connected to the mounting rod (100), or, as shown in the drawing, may be fixed in a form clamped to a clamp (620) attached to the mounting rod (100).
[0033] FIG. 2 is an external perspective view of a reel holder used in a positive pressure hose holder according to one embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 3 is a view with one side cover of FIG. 1 removed, FIG. 4 is a drawing showing the pulling part of FIG. 2 pulled, FIG. 5 is an exploded perspective view of FIG. 1, FIG. 6 is a perspective view of FIG. 5 with the reel holder body and bearing combined, FIG. 7 is a perspective view of FIG. 6 with the winding part of FIG. 5 installed thereon, and FIG. 8 is a front view of FIG. 7. The connecting means and the reel holder of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to FIG. 2 to 8.
[0034] Referring to the drawings, one example of the connecting means in the positive pressure hose holder of the present invention is a reel holder, and the reel holder is formed with a connecting part (201) that is coupled to one of the mounting rods (100) or the positive pressure hoses, and is configured to be pulled out when pulled from the outside by having a wire (215) elastically wound inside.
[0035] The above reel holder includes a reel holder body (210), a winding part (220), an elastic spring (230), and a bearing (240).
[0036] The above reel holder body (210) has the above coupling part (201) formed protruding outwardly, a central axis (300) for winding the wire formed inside, and a wire inlet part (410) formed to allow the end of the wire to be drawn in outwardly.
[0037] Since the above-mentioned connecting part (201) is a part that is physically connected to the mounting rod (100) or the positive pressure hose (10), it is desirable to implement it as a reinforced protruding structure capable of withstanding repetitive tensile and shaking loads rather than a simple surface shape. That is, it can be designed to have a shape such as a hook, loop, or clamp, or other various locking structures, so that it does not separate and maintains a stable connection state even if the reel holder is pulled and shaken in an actual usage environment. In addition, the central axis (300) formed inside the reel holder body (210) serves as a fixed axis that acts as a reference point for rotation when the winding part (220) rotates, and serves as a guide so that the wire (215) can be wound or unwound while aligned in a certain direction.
[0038] The wire inlet (410) refers to an open structure provided so that the wire (215) wound inside the reel holder body can be exposed to the outside and move. Since this wire inlet (410) serves as a passage connecting the inside and outside of the reel, it is desirable to implement it so that the wire can naturally move back and forth during the process of being pulled or rewinded.
[0039] For example, the wire inlet (410) may be formed integrally with the reel holder body (210), but it may be detachably installed on the reel holder body (210) and made of a durable material capable of withstanding the movement of the wire (215). In the case of an integrated structure, since it is formed together with the outer wall of the reel holder body (210), there is an advantage of a simple manufacturing process and a reduction in the number of parts. Additionally, since reinforcing ribs or a smooth surface for wire friction may be formed around the wire inlet (410), durability can be maintained even during long-term use. Furthermore, in the case of a detachable structure as shown in the drawing, since it is combined with the reel holder body (210) as a separate part, there is a maintenance advantage in that the lifespan of the entire reel can be extended by simply replacing the inlet when it is worn out or damaged. It is preferable that this replaceable type of wire inlet (410) be manufactured using a plastic, synthetic resin, or a resin material with enhanced friction resistance that has good impact resistance to withstand the repetitive reciprocating motion of the wire (215), thereby ensuring durability.
[0040] In this way, the wire inlet (410) prevents damage to the wire (215) from external factors such as pressure, tension, and friction, and as a key element to ensure the functional life of the reel structure, it enables the reel holder to smoothly and stably assist the movement of the positive pressure hose.
[0041] The above winding section (220) winds the wire (215) on the outer surface, and for example, one end (213) of the wire (215) is fixed to the winding section (220), and the other end (211) of the wire is exposed to the outside of the reel holder body (210) and fixed to the intermediate connecting section (420) to be connected to the hose (10), or can be used by connecting directly to the hose (10). The winding section (220) is an area where the wire is wound and stored inside the reel structure, and provides a circular winding space so that the wire is wound in a certain direction without overlapping during winding, and circular ribs are formed at both ends of the circular surface where the wire is wound to prevent the wire from coming off. The winding section (220) is rotatably positioned inside the reel holder body (210), and rotates to unwind the wire when the user pulls the wire outward, and conversely, when the tension is released, the wire is wound again by the restoring force of the elastic spring (230). In addition, one end (213) of the wire is firmly fixed to a fixed part such as an inner side of the winding section or a fixed projection, and the other end (211) of the wire is structured to be drawn out to the outside of the reel holder body (210) and connected to the intermediate connecting section (420) to connect to the positive pressure hose (10). Depending on the usage environment, the wire end can also be applied in a form where it is directly fixed to the outer sheath of the hose without the intermediate connecting section (420), so the reel holder can accommodate various hose configurations or user installation methods. The intermediate connecting section (420) is configured to easily and firmly connect the wire to the positive pressure hose (10) by mediating the wire in the middle using clips, hooks, rings, joints, etc.
[0042] The elastic spring (230) is inserted into the interior of the winding section to provide rotational elastic force to the winding section. The elastic spring (230) is a major elastic element inserted into the interior of the winding section and performs the role of providing rotational restoring force when the winding section rotates. Basically, the inner end of the spring is fixed to the central axis (300) or the locking groove, and the outer end is connected to the winding section. When the winding section rotates due to the user's pull, the spring accumulates stored energy in a twisted state. In this state, when the user releases the wire or the external force (tension) applied to the pull is removed, the spring generates a restoring force to return its twisted state to its original position. This force is then transmitted to the winding section, causing the winding section to rotate in the opposite direction and automatically rewind the wire (215) to its original internal position. In other words, the elastic spring is not merely a component for maintaining position, but an energy storage and release device that enables the wire to be pulled out smoothly and automatically returned naturally, and is a core component that implements the core operating principle of the reel system. Referring to FIG. 8, it can be seen that the elastic spring (230) of the present invention has one end fixed to a central axis (300) and the other end connected to a winding part (200), and stores torsional energy according to the rotation of the winding part and provides a restoring force.
[0043] The bearing (240) facilitates smooth rotation between the winding section (220) and the central axis (300). The bearing is a rotational support element installed between the winding section and the central axis, and it enables smooth rotational movement by minimizing friction that occurs when the winding section rotates. That is, since the winding section must rotate repeatedly around the central axis, if the axis and the winding section come into direct contact, problems such as wear, frictional heat generation, noise, and increased rotational resistance may occur. The bearing reduces such contact friction and allows the wire (215) to be drawn out and returned more stably and quietly by maintaining accurate axis alignment between the rotating parts. Therefore, the bearing is an essential component that provides the effects of improved smoothness of the winding section's rotation, increased durability, improved operating efficiency, and extended reel life, and can be considered a functional base component that supports the entire reel structure to operate reliably even during repetitive movements.
[0044] The end of the wire wound on the winding portion (220) of the reel holder body (210) of the present invention is composed of an end fixedly connected to the winding portion (220) and an end exposed to the outside of the reel holder body (210). The end of the wire exposed to the outside of the reel holder body (210) can be connected to either a mounting rod or a positive pressure hose (10). As shown in FIG. 1, if the exposed end of the wire (211) is connected to the positive pressure hose (10), the end of the wire (213) fixed to the winding portion of the reel holder body (210) can be understood as being connected to the mounting rod (100) via the reel holder body (210).
[0045] In addition, the present invention relates to a reel holder itself used as a connecting means for a positive pressure hose holder, wherein the configuration of the reel holder comprises, as described above, a connecting part formed to be coupled to one of the mounting rods or the positive pressure hoses, and configured to allow a wire to be pulled out when elastically wound inside, wherein the connecting part is formed protruding outwardly, a central axis for winding the wire is formed inside, and a wire inlet part formed to allow the end of the wire to be drawn in outwardly; a winding part for winding the wire on an outer surface; an elastic spring inserted inside the winding part to provide rotational elastic force to the winding part; and a bearing for facilitating rotation between the winding part and the central axis; wherein the end of the wire is connected to the other of the mounting rods or the positive pressure hoses.
[0046] In addition, in the present invention, the central axis (300) of the reel holder body (210) may include a bearing installation part (310) in which the bearing (240) is installed and a locking groove part (320) for fixing the inner end of the elastic spring (230). In the present invention, the central axis (300) of the reel holder body is not merely limited to serving as a rotational reference axis for wire winding, but is formed as a multi-functional structure so that the winding part (220) and the elastic spring (230) can operate stably. First, a bearing installation part (310) in which a bearing (240) can be mounted is provided on the outer circumference or both ends of the central axis (300). This bearing mounting section () can be machined into a support surface or a seating groove so that the bearing (240) can be properly positioned and fixed without shaking, thereby helping the bearing (240) to operate smoothly while aligned with the central axis (300) when the winding section (220) rotates. Additionally, a locking groove (320) is formed on the central axis (300), which is a structure that allows the fixed end of the inner end of the elastic spring (230) to be inserted and fixed. By ensuring that one end of the elastic spring (230) is securely fixed in the locking groove (320), when the winding section (220) rotates due to wire extraction, the spring is twisted with the corresponding position as a reference point, and when the external force is released, it can stably perform the function of returning the winding section (220) with a restoring force. Therefore, the central axis (300) is formed as a composite structure that simultaneously performs the function of supporting the bearing (240) and the function of fixing the spring (), and functions as a core component that supports the entire rotation mechanism of the rotating reel.
[0047] Additionally, referring to FIG. 8, in the present invention, the winding section (220) may be configured to have a bearing mounting section (225) in which the bearing is mounted inside and a spring mounting section (227) in which a cut section (223) is formed to fix the outer end of the elastic spring coaxially adjacent to each other. In the present invention, the winding section (220) is not merely a cylindrical structure for winding wire, but may be formed internally into a complex functional section to accommodate key functional elements that enable rotational operation of the rotating reel. First, a bearing mounting section (225) is provided inside the winding section so that a bearing (240) can be stably mounted. This mounting section is formed with dimensions corresponding to the outer diameter of the bearing (240) so that the bearing (240) is seated without shaking and serves to support the bearing so that alignment in the axial and radial directions is maintained during rotation. That is, the winding section (220) can function as a rotational support housing that accommodates a bearing (240) to minimize rotational friction with the central axis (300). Additionally, a spring mounting section (227) including a cut section (223) for fixing the outer end of an elastic spring (230) is positioned coaxially with the winding section (220). The cut section is a fixing structure formed so that the outer end of the elastic spring (230) is caught or inserted and does not come out. When the winding section (220) rotates due to a user's pull, the outer end of the elastic spring (230) is twisted together with the winding section (220) to store energy. The restoring force of the elastic spring (230) is exerted by returning the winding section (220) based on this fixed point. In this way, the bearing mounting part (225) and the spring mounting part (227) are arranged coaxially side by side on a single cylinder or axis, so that the winding part (220) is designed so that the torsional action of the elastic spring (230), smooth rotation through the bearing (240), and wire winding function are all organically performed within a single component. That is, the winding part (220) is structurally a single part, but in terms of operational function, it takes the form of a multi-functional part that performs rotation, support, and elastic return roles.
[0048] And the reel holder body (210) may be configured with an assembly structure with the body cover (218), for example, a plurality of assembly protrusions (332) formed on the body cover (218) may be inserted into assembly grooves (334) formed corresponding to the reel holder body (210) and assembled together.
[0049] In the above description, the reel holder was described as being applied to a positive pressure device, but it is not limited to this and will be applied to various reel structures capable of elastically retrieving a wire.
[0050] Although preferred embodiments of the present invention have been illustrated and described above, the present invention is not limited to the specific embodiments described above, and various modifications can be made by those skilled in the art without departing from the gist of the invention as claimed in the patent claims. Furthermore, matters that can be easily inferred from the attached drawings should be considered to be included in the content of the present invention even if they are not described in the detailed description, and various modifications should not be understood individually from the technical concept or perspective of the present invention.
