[0001] Cross-reference regarding related applications

[0002] The present disclosure claims priority to Chinese patent application No. 202123317998.2, titled "VOLTAGE COLLECTION STRUCTURE AND BATTERY MODULE HAVING VOLTAGE COLLECTION STRUCTURE," filed on December 27, 2021, the full text of which is incorporated herein by reference.

[0003] Technology field

[0004] The present disclosure relates to the field of battery technology, and more specifically to a voltage collection structure and a battery module having a voltage collection structure. Background Technology

[0005] As the number of electric vehicles increases, safety issues regarding power batteries are becoming a growing concern. Battery modules typically include a collection structure that collects the voltage of the battery core. The collection structure generally includes a collector having a collecting nickel sheet. The collecting nickel sheet is connected to the positive and negative electrodes of each battery core and is configured to collect the voltage of the battery core within the battery module to detect whether the power battery is safe.

[0006] Due to manufacturing tolerances of the battery core itself and assembly tolerances that occur after the battery core is laminated, a gap exists between the collecting nickel sheet and the battery core. Consequently, the collecting nickel sheet cannot be effectively attached to the battery core. The battery core and the collecting nickel sheet are typically fixed by laser welding, and in laser welding, the gap between the welded workpieces must be maintained within 0.5 m. If the gap between the welded workpieces is greater than 0.5 m, it causes welding defects such as explosions or faulty welding.

[0007] In the relevant technology, due to the unreasonable structure of the collecting nickel sheet, when the collecting nickel sheet is compressed using a tool during welding, the collecting nickel sheet cannot provide an effective buffer space, resulting in minimal deformation margin for the collecting nickel sheet. If a height difference exists between battery cores after they are stacked, the collecting nickel sheet lacks deformation margin when compressed downward by a tool during welding; consequently, the collecting nickel sheet cannot absorb the height difference, leading to a high defect rate in the battery module during assembly and welding, and further affecting the reliability of voltage collection in the battery module. means of solving the problem

Specific details for implementing the invention

[0021] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present disclosure are described in detail, and the embodiments described with reference to the accompanying drawings are exemplary.

[0022] In the description of the present disclosure, orientations or positional relationships indicated by terms such as “center,” “longitudinal,” “transverse,” “length,” “width,” “thickness,” “top,” “bottom,” “front,” “back,” “left,” “right,” “vertical,” “horizontal,” “top,” “bottom,” “inside,” “outside,” “clockwise,” “counterclockwise,” “axial,” “radial,” and “circumferential” are based on the orientations or positional relationships depicted in the accompanying drawings and are used merely for the ease and concise illustration and explanation of the present disclosure, and do not specify or imply that the mentioned device or component must have a specific orientation or be configured and operated in a specific orientation. Accordingly, these terms should not be interpreted as a limitation on the present disclosure.

[0023] In the description of the present disclosure, "multiple" means two or more.

[0024] In this disclosure, unless otherwise explicitly stated and defined, the term “connection” should be understood in a broad sense. For example, a connection may be a fixed connection, a detachable connection, or an integral connection; a mechanical connection or an electrical connection; a direct connection, an indirect connection through an intermediate, or a communication or interaction relationship between two elements. A person skilled in the art will understand the specific meaning of the terms used in this disclosure according to the specific circumstances.

[0025] The present disclosure aims to solve at least one of the technical problems existing in the relevant technology. Accordingly, the present disclosure provides a voltage collection structure. The voltage collection structure can absorb height differences between battery cores, and the adhesion robustness between the voltage collection sheet and each battery core is improved, thereby enabling reliable voltage collection of the battery cores. The present disclosure further provides a battery module having a voltage collection structure.

[0026] Hereinafter, a voltage collection structure (1) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is described with reference to the attached drawings.

[0027] As shown in FIGS. 1 to 6, the voltage collection structure (1) includes a fixed holder (100), a circuit board (200), and a plurality of voltage collection sheets (300).

[0028] A fixed holder (100) is configured to be connected to a plurality of battery cores (2). A circuit board (200) is installed on the fixed holder (100). A plurality of voltage collection sheets (300) are installed on the circuit board (200) and connected to a plurality of battery cores (2). At least one voltage collection sheet (300) includes a buffer segment (310), and at least a portion of the buffer segment (310) protrudes in a direction away from the battery core (2) (i.e., the Z direction shown in FIG. 5), so that the voltage collection sheet (300) has a displacement margin in a direction closer to the battery core (2). The maximum protrusion distance of the buffer segment (310) is in the range of 0.5 mm to 20 mm.

[0029] It should be noted that the fixed holder (100) may be an insulating member made of insulating plastic, for example.

[0030] For example, the voltage collection sheet (300) and the circuit board (200) can be welded, and the voltage collection sheet (300) and the battery core (2) can be welded.

[0031] In the voltage collection structure (1) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a fixed holder (100) is connected to a plurality of battery cores (2), and a circuit board (200) is installed on the side of the fixed holder (100) away from the plurality of battery cores (2). Accordingly, the fixed holder (100) fixes the relative position between the circuit board (200) and the plurality of battery cores (2) and can avoid contact between the circuit board (200) and the plurality of battery cores (2), thereby avoiding defects such as a short circuit between the circuit board (200) and the plurality of battery cores (2).

[0032] Additionally, a plurality of voltage collection sheets (300) are installed on a circuit board (200) and connected to a plurality of battery cores (2). The voltage collection sheets (300) may be made of metallic nickel or a nickel alloy. Each voltage collection sheet (300) collects either a positive voltage or a negative voltage of a battery core (2) connected to the voltage collection sheet. Each battery core (2) may be connected to two voltage collection sheets (300), and the two voltage collection sheets (300) each collect a positive voltage and a negative voltage of the battery core (2) to obtain the voltage of the battery core (2).

[0033] Additionally, at least one voltage collection sheet (300) includes a buffer segment (310), and at least a portion of the buffer segment (310) protrudes in a direction away from the battery core (2), so that the voltage collection sheet (300) has displacement margin in a direction closer to the battery core (2). It should be noted that each voltage collection sheet (300) has a buffer segment (310) during initial manufacturing. When the voltage collection structure (1) is connected to a plurality of battery cores (2), the buffer segment (310) of the portion of the voltage collection sheet (300) can be compressed by an assembly tool (the tool is an abbreviation for process tool, and the assembly tool refers to an auxiliary device applied to the assembly process of components) to absorb the height difference between the plurality of battery cores (2). Thus, after assembly, the buffer segment (310) of the portion of the voltage collection sheet (300) may lose its buffering effect. That is, the buffer segment (310) does not protrude outside the voltage collection sheet (300) in a direction away from the battery core (2).

[0034] The maximum protrusion distance (A) of the buffer segment (310) is in the range of 0.5 mm to 20 mm. In this way, when the maximum height difference between multiple battery cores (2) is less than 10 mm, that is, when the height difference between any two battery cores (2) is less than 10 mm, the buffer segment (310) is deformed under the action of the assembly tool to effectively absorb the height difference between the battery cores (2). In other words, the voltage collection sheet (300) is tightly attached to the battery cores (2) to improve the yield of the battery module (3) and make the voltage collection of multiple battery cores (2) more reliable.

[0035] In this way, the voltage collection structure (1) according to the embodiment of the present disclosure can absorb the height difference between the battery cores (2), and the attachment robustness between the voltage collection sheet (300) and the battery core (2) is improved, thereby enabling reliable voltage collection of the battery core (2).

[0036] According to some specific embodiments of the present disclosure, as illustrated in FIGS. 5 and 6, the voltage collection sheet (300) further includes a circuit board connection segment (320) and a battery core connection segment (330).

[0037] The circuit board connection segment (320) is connected to the end of the circuit board (200) and the buffer segment (310) (i.e., the first end (311a) of the first sub-segment (311)), and the battery core connection segment (330) is connected to the other end of the battery core (2) and the buffer segment (310) (i.e., the first end (312a) of the second sub-segment (312). The battery core connection segment (330) and the circuit board connection segment (320) are parallel and located in different planes. A portion of the buffer segment (310) is located on the side of the circuit board connection segment (320) opposite the battery core connection segment (330) in the thickness direction of the voltage collection sheet (300) (i.e., the Z direction shown in FIG. 5), and accordingly, the battery core connection segment (330) has a displacement margin in the direction closer to the battery core (2). The maximum distance (A) between the portion of the buffer segment (310) and the circuit board connection segment (320) in the thickness direction of the voltage collection sheet (300) is in the range of 0.5 mm to 20 mm.

[0038] For example, the circuit board connection segment (320) can be connected to the side of the circuit board (200) facing the fixed holder (100). The side surface of the buffer segment (310) away from the battery core (2) is coplanar with the side surface of the circuit board (200) on the opposite side of the fixed holder (100). The buffer segment (310) is attached to the outer peripheral surface of the circuit board (200), thereby making the relative position between the circuit board (200) and the voltage collection sheet (300) more stable. Additionally, the connection area between the circuit board connection segment (320) and the circuit board (200) is larger, and the connection area between the battery core connection segment (330) and the battery core (2) is larger, which is advantageous for welding.

[0039] Additionally, the buffer segment (310) can pass through the fixed holder (100) along the thickness direction of the fixed holder (100) so as to be connected to the battery core connection segment (330). In this way, the voltage collection sheet (300) exhibits a shape similar to "n". Since the aforementioned portion of the buffer segment (310) (e.g., the third sub-segment (313) shown in FIG. 6) is furthest from the battery core (2) in the thickness direction of the voltage collection sheet (300), when the assembly tool moves toward the direction closer to the battery core (2), the assembly tool comes into contact with the buffer segment (310) first, and accordingly, the buffer segment (310) is deformed before the circuit board connection segment (320). Thus, the attachment strength between the battery core connection segment (330) and the battery core (2) is ensured, and separation between the circuit board connection segment (320) and the circuit board (200) can be avoided. In addition, it should be noted that in the present disclosure, the thickness direction of the fixed holder (100), the circuit board (200), and the voltage collection sheet (300) is consistent, for example, the Z direction shown in FIG. 5, or a direction opposite to the Z direction.

[0040] Additionally, the dimension (C) of the portion of the buffer segment (310) in the width direction of the voltage collection sheet (300) is in the range of 2 mm to 20 mm. In this way, sufficiently high structural strength of the buffer segment (310) can be ensured, and the width of the voltage collection sheet (300) can be prevented from occupying too much space, which is advantageous for reducing the volume of the voltage collection structure (1). Additionally, the dimension (B) of the portion of the buffer segment (310) in the extension direction of the voltage collection sheet (300) is in the range of 0.5 mm to 20 mm. In this way, the deformation dimension of the buffer segment (310) is sufficient. This ensures that the voltage collection sheet (300) is effectively attached to the battery core (2) after the buffer segment (310) is deformed. In the present disclosure, it should be noted that the thickness direction of the voltage collection sheet (300), the width direction of the voltage collection sheet (300), and the extension direction of the voltage collection sheet (300) are orthogonal to each other in space. For example, the "thickness direction of the voltage collection sheet (300)" is the Z-axis direction of the spatial coordinate system, the "width direction of the voltage collection sheet (300)" is the Y-axis direction of the spatial coordinate system, and the "extension direction of the voltage collection sheet (300)" is the X-axis direction of the spatial coordinate system.

[0041] In some embodiments of the present disclosure, as illustrated in FIGS. 5 and 6, the buffer segment (310) includes a first sub-segment (311), a second sub-segment (312), and a third sub-segment (313).

[0042] The first end (311a) of the first sub-segment (311) is connected to the end of the circuit board connection segment (320) adjacent to the battery core connection segment (330), and the first sub-segment (311) extends in a direction away from the battery core connection segment (330) in the thickness direction of the circuit board connection segment (320). The first end (312a) of the second sub-segment (312) is connected to the end of the battery core connection segment (330) adjacent to the circuit board connection segment (320), and the second sub-segment (312) extends to the side of the circuit board connection segment (320) opposite the battery core connection segment (330) in a direction toward the circuit board connection segment (320) in the thickness direction of the battery core connection segment (330). The two ends of the third sub-segment (313) are each connected to the second end (311b) of the first sub-segment (311) and the second end (312b) of the second sub-segment (312). It should be noted in the present disclosure that the thickness direction of the circuit board connection segment (320), the thickness direction of the battery core connection segment (330), and the thickness direction of the voltage collection sheet (300) are consistent.

[0043] In the present disclosure, the fact that at least a portion of the buffer segment (310) protrudes in a direction away from the battery core (2) means that a portion of the buffer segment (310) protrudes in a direction away from the battery core (2), or that the entire buffer segment (310) protrudes in a direction away from the battery core (2) to form a protrusion. For example, a portion of the buffer segment (310) (i.e., the third sub-segment (313)) protrudes in a direction away from the battery core (2). The first sub-segment (311) and the circuit board connection segment (320) may be transitioned in an arc shape, and the second sub-segment (312) and the battery core connection segment (330) may be transitioned in an arc shape. These two arc-shaped transitions may be located at the first sub-segment (311) and the second sub-segment (312), respectively. In the present disclosure, the location of the arc-shaped transition is not limited if a protrusion can be formed so that the voltage collection sheet (300) has a displacement margin in a direction close to the battery core (2). The two ends of the third sub-segment (313) can each be arc-shaped transitioned to the first sub-segment (311) and the second sub-segment (312). In other words, the third sub-segment (313) is bent and connected to the first sub-segment (311) and the second sub-segment (312), respectively. In this way, stress concentration between the buffer segment (310) itself and the buffer segment (310) and the circuit board connection segment (320), as well as between the battery core connection segment (330), can be avoided, and the stress distribution becomes more uniform.

[0044] In this way, the connection between the buffer segment (310) and the circuit board connection segment (320), as well as the battery core connection segment (330), can be ensured, and the buffer segment (310) is formed by three segments, so that the acute angle of the buffer segment (310) itself and the connection between the buffer segment (310) and the circuit board connection segment (320), as well as the battery core connection segment (330), can be avoided, and the structure of the voltage collection sheet (300) becomes more reliable.

[0045] Optionally, the third sub-segment (313), the battery core connection segment (330), and the circuit board connection segment (320) are parallel. In this way, when the assembly tool compresses the buffer segment (310) downward, the assembly tool first comes into contact with the third sub-segment (313). In this case, the assembly tool comes into surface contact with the third sub-segment (313), and by increasing the contact area, it prevents the buffer segment (310) from being damaged due to excessively large local pressure on the buffer segment (310). Additionally, the first sub-segment (311) and the second sub-segment (312) are parallel to each other, and both the first sub-segment (311) and the second sub-segment (312) are orthogonal to the third sub-segment (313). This can avoid an acute angle occurring in the transition of the buffer segment (310) and also helps to reduce the dimensions in the extension direction of the voltage collection sheet (300), thereby facilitating the installation of the voltage collection structure (1).

[0046] According to some specific embodiments of the present disclosure, as illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 3, a first buckle (110) and a second buckle (120) are arranged on the side of a fixed holder (100) opposite the battery core (2). The first buckle (110) is configured to be clamped to the side of a circuit board (200) opposite the battery core (2). The fixed holder (100) is provided with a plurality of through holes (130) along its thickness direction. Each of the poles of the plurality of battery cores (2) is inserted into the plurality of through holes (130) (e.g., the first end pole (411) or the second end pole (412) of the battery core body (500) is inserted into the corresponding through hole (130), and the outer peripheral surface of each portion of the pole passing through the through hole (130) is clamped by the second buckle (120).

[0047] In this manner, the fixed holder (100) is fixed to the circuit board (200) and the battery core (2) by a clamping method, respectively. This facilitates disassembly and assembly between the circuit board (200) and the fixed holder (100), as well as between the fixed holder (100) and the battery core (2). Additionally, the first buckle (110) and the second buckle (120) may be made of rubber material. That is, the first buckle (110) and the second buckle (120) have elasticity. The first buckle (110) and the second buckle (120) undergo elastic deformation, which can further improve the convenience of disassembly and assembly.

[0048] Hereinafter, a battery module (3) (e.g., power battery) according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is described with reference to the attached drawings. As shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, the battery module (3) includes a plurality of battery cores (2) and a voltage collection structure (1) according to the aforementioned embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0049] The battery module (3) according to the embodiment of the present disclosure has advantages such as reliable voltage collection by using the voltage collection structure (1) according to the above-described embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0050] According to some specific embodiments of the present disclosure, as illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, each battery core (2) comprises a conductive housing (400) and a battery core body (500) arranged within the conductive housing (400). The battery core (2) has a first end and a second end that face each other. The battery core body has a first end electrode (411) arranged at the first end and a second end electrode (412) arranged at the second end, and the first end electrode (411) is connected to the conductive housing (400). When the first end electrode (411) of the battery core body is a negative electrode, the second end electrode (412) is a positive electrode; conversely, when the first end electrode (411) of the battery core body is a positive electrode, the second end electrode (412) is a negative electrode. Additionally, a voltage collection structure (1) is arranged at the second end, and a portion of a plurality of voltage collection sheets (300) is connected to the second end pole (412), and another portion of a plurality of voltage collection sheets (300) is connected to conductive housings (400).

[0051] In this way, the positive and negative voltages of the battery core (2) can be collected simultaneously simply by installing a voltage collection structure (1) on the side of the battery core (2). The structure of the battery module (3) becomes simpler, and a plurality of voltage collection sheets (300) can be arranged on two opposing sides of the circuit board (200). For example, a plurality of voltage collection sheets (300) are arranged on two sides in the width direction of the circuit board (200). The voltage collection sheet (300) on one side of the two sides in the width direction of the circuit board (200) is connected to a second end pole (412), and the voltage collection sheet (300) on the other side of the two sides in the width direction of the circuit board (200) is connected to conductive housings (400), thereby making the voltage collection more accurate.

[0052] Additionally, as illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 7, the battery module (3) further includes a first connection sheet (420) and a second connection sheet (430).

[0053] A plurality of battery cores (2) are arranged along the thickness direction of the battery cores (2), and the polarities of the first end poles (411) of adjacent battery cores (2) are opposite, and the polarities of the second end poles (412) are opposite. Each first connecting sheet (420) connects the first end poles (411) of adjacent battery cores (2), and each second connecting sheet (430) connects the second end poles (412) of adjacent battery cores (2), so that a plurality of battery cores (2) are connected in series. The second connecting sheet (430) is located between the fixed holder (100) and the circuit board (200), and some of the plurality of voltage collection sheets (300) are connected to the second end poles (412) through the second connecting sheet (430).

[0055] In this way, the voltage of each battery core (2) can be detected through the voltage collection structure (1). This is advantageous for ensuring reliable operation of the battery module (3) by ensuring reliable operation of multiple battery cores (2).

[0056] Optionally, as illustrated in FIG. 3, a plurality of positioning grooves (440) are provided on the side of the fixed holder (100) opposite the battery core (2). The second end pole (412) passes through the bottom of the positioning groove (440). A portion of the second connecting sheet (430) is positioned in the positioning groove (440) and connected to the second end pole (412). A through hole (130) is formed at the bottom of the positioning groove (440). In this way, the relative position between the second connecting sheet (430) and the fixed holder (100) is more reliable, and accordingly, the reliability of the electrical connection between the second connecting sheet (430) and the second end pole (412) can be ensured.
