Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to an obstruction detection device and method, and more specifically, to an obstruction detection device and method for closing the trunk of an automobile. Background Technology
[0002] Recently, various electronic / electric convenience devices are being applied to automobiles, one of which is the power trunk. A power trunk is equipped with an electric motor that automatically opens and closes the trunk lid by pressing a button. Conventional power trunk technology performs the function of automatically reopening the trunk and displaying a warning light on the cluster if the trunk is not completely closed.
[0003] However, in conventional power trunk technology, when there is a large amount of luggage inside the trunk, the user must personally identify the cause if the trunk fails to close properly while the luggage is loaded. Additionally, if there are sharp or hard objects inside the trunk during the closing process, they can cause damage to the trunk, and in order to close the trunk, the items must be removed or repositioned so that the trunk lid does not come into contact with them.
[0004] However, identifying which part among the many items is causing the trunk not to close is very difficult and time-consuming, so it has the disadvantage of wasting the user's time and effort. The problem to be solved
[0005] The problem that the present invention aims to solve is to provide a device and method for detecting an object that obstructs the trunk closing of a vehicle, which detects an object inside the trunk that obstructs the trunk closing and allows a user to identify the approximate location of the obstructing object. means of solving the problem
[0006] A trunk closing obstruction detection device according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention for solving the above-mentioned problem comprises: a sensor module including a plurality of obstruction detection sensors each installed at a predetermined location inside the trunk of a vehicle; a plurality of lamps each installed at a predetermined location inside the trunk of a vehicle and illuminating a first color indicating the presence of an obstruction or a second color indicating the absence of an obstruction according to a control signal; and a control unit that determines whether an obstruction exists and the location of the obstruction in an area corresponding to each of the plurality of lamps according to detection information input from the obstruction detection sensors, and controls the plurality of lamps so that the lamp corresponding to the area where the obstruction exists illuminates the first color and the lamp corresponding to the area where the obstruction does not exist illuminates the second color.
[0007] In addition, a trunk closing obstruction detection device according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention further includes a laser light generator installed on the trunk lid and emitting laser light by adjusting the direction according to a control signal input from the control unit, and the control unit can set the direction in which the laser generator emits laser light according to the distance measured from the obstruction detection sensor and the area corresponding to the obstruction detection sensor.
[0008] In addition, at least one of the plurality of obstacle detection sensors is installed on the trunk lid, and emits a signal in a vertical direction when the trunk lid is open and receives a signal reflected from an object to output detection information to the control unit. The control unit measures a vertical distance using the detection information received from each obstacle detection sensor, and if the vertical distances are shorter than a predefined threshold distance, it determines that an obstacle exists under the obstacle detection sensor and outputs a control signal to light up a first color of a lamp corresponding to the obstacle detection sensor.
[0009] In addition, the plurality of obstacle detection sensors include ultrasonic sensors, and the ultrasonic sensors emit an ultrasonic signal including an identification code, and among the ultrasonic signals reflected from an object, the ultrasonic sensors use the identification code to count the time at which the ultrasonic signal is reflected from the object and received, and output time difference information as detection information to the control unit, and the control unit can measure the distance using the time difference information.
[0010] In addition, at least one of the plurality of obstacle detection sensors is installed on the rear side of the vehicle body inside the trunk where the trunk lid and the vehicle body are combined to measure the horizontal distance, and the control unit can output a control signal to light up a first color of a lamp corresponding to the horizontal distance if the horizontal distance is shorter than a predefined threshold distance.
[0011] Additionally, the device further includes a laser light generator installed on the trunk lid and emitting laser light by adjusting the direction according to a control signal input from the control unit, wherein the control unit determines the position of an obstacle protruding outside the trunk using vertical and horizontal distances measured by the plurality of obstacle detection sensors, and controls the laser light generator to set the direction in which the laser light generator emits laser light so as to be directed toward the area of the obstacle protruding outside the trunk.
[0012] In addition, the obstacle detection sensor for measuring the horizontal distance may be any one of an ultrasonic sensor, a laser sensor, and an infrared sensor.
[0013] Meanwhile, a trunk closing obstruction detection method according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention for solving the above-mentioned problem comprises: a sensor module including a plurality of obstruction detection sensors each installed at a predetermined location inside a vehicle trunk; a plurality of lamps each installed at a predetermined location inside a vehicle trunk, which illuminate a first color indicating the presence of an obstruction or a second color indicating the absence of an obstruction according to a control signal; and a control unit controlling the obstruction detection sensors and the lamps, wherein the method comprises: (a) a step in which the control unit measures a horizontal distance and a vertical distance inside the trunk using detection information input from each of the obstruction detection sensors; and (b) a step in which the control unit compares the distance calculated corresponding to each of the obstruction detection sensors with a predetermined threshold distance to determine whether an obstruction hindering trunk closing exists and to specify the location of the obstruction. and (c) a step of the control unit controlling the lamps to light a first color on a lamp in an area corresponding to the location of an obstruction and lighting a second color on a lamp in an area where no obstruction is located, thereby notifying the user of the presence and location of an object that obstructs the trunk closing.
[0014] In addition, in a trunk closing obstruction detection method according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the trunk closing obstruction detection device further includes a laser light generator installed on the trunk lid and emitting laser light by adjusting the direction according to a control signal input from the control unit, and in step (c), the control unit can control the laser light generator so that the laser light is directed toward the obstruction according to the distance measured from the obstruction detection sensor and the area corresponding to the obstruction detection sensor.
[0015] Additionally, at least one of the plurality of obstacle detection sensors is installed on the trunk lid, and in step (a), the plurality of obstacle detection sensors emit a signal in a vertical direction while the trunk lid is open and receive a signal reflected from an object to output detection information to the control unit, and the control unit measures a vertical distance using the detection information received from each obstacle detection sensor, and in step (b), if there is a vertical distance among each vertical distance that is shorter than a predefined threshold distance, the control unit may have an obstacle below the corresponding obstacle detection sensor.
[0016] Additionally, the plurality of obstacle detection sensors includes ultrasonic sensors, and in step (a), the ultrasonic sensor emits an ultrasonic signal including an identification code, and outputs time difference information, obtained by counting the time at which the ultrasonic signal is reflected from the object and received using the identification code among the ultrasonic signals reflected from the object, to the control unit as detection information, and the control unit can measure the vertical distance using the time difference information.
[0017] In addition, at least one of the plurality of obstacle detection sensors is installed on the side of the rear of the vehicle body within the trunk where the trunk lid and the vehicle body are combined, and in step (b), the control unit measures the horizontal distance using detection information input from at least one obstacle detection sensor installed on the side of the rear of the vehicle, and in step (c), if the horizontal distance is shorter than a predefined threshold distance, the control unit can output a control signal to light up the first color of the lamp corresponding to the horizontal distance.
[0018] In addition, in a trunk closing obstruction detection method according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the trunk closing obstruction detection device further includes a laser light generator installed on the trunk lid and emitting laser light by adjusting the direction according to a control signal input from the control unit, and in step (c), the control unit can determine the position of the obstruction protruding outside the trunk using the vertical distance and horizontal distance measured from the plurality of obstruction detection sensors, and control the laser light generator to set the direction in which the laser light generator emits laser light toward the area protruding outside the trunk of the obstruction. Effects of the invention
[0019] The present invention installs a plurality of obstacle detection sensors in the trunk to measure distances in the vertical and horizontal directions, compares the measured distances with predefined threshold distances to determine whether there is an object inside the trunk that may obstruct the closing of the trunk, and if an object that may obstruct the closing of the trunk is detected, lights up lamps installed at multiple locations to inform the user of the location of the object, thereby enabling the user to more easily identify the object that obstructs the closing of the trunk and thereby making it easier to close the trunk.
[0020] In addition, the present invention may allow the user to more easily identify the object obstructing the trunk closing by installing a laser light generator and indicating the object obstructing the trunk closing with the laser light. Brief explanation of the drawing

[0027] FIG. 1 is a block diagram illustrating the configuration of a trunk closing obstruction detection device for an automobile according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2 is a flowchart explaining a method for detecting a trunk closing obstruction for an automobile according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. In addition, FIG. 3 is a diagram illustrating an example of the installation configuration within the trunk of a trunk closing obstruction detection device for an automobile according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 4 is a diagram conceptually explaining the configuration of a trunk closing obstruction detection device for an automobile according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention.
[0028] First, referring to FIGS. 1, 3 and 4, a trunk closing obstruction detection device according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention basically includes a sensor module (100), a plurality of lamps (400; 401 to 404) and a control unit (200), and may further include a laser light generator (300).
[0029] The sensor module (100) includes a plurality of obstacle detection sensors (101 to 109) each installed at a predetermined location inside the car trunk, and some of the plurality of obstacle detection sensors (101 to 109) are installed so as to face vertically from the trunk lid (510) into the trunk interior, and these sensors are referred to as vertical sensors (101 to 104).
[0030] Additionally, some of the multiple obstacle detection sensors (101 to 109) are installed facing horizontally (in the width direction) on the rearmost side of the trunk body where the trunk lid (510) and the vehicle body are joined, and these sensors are referred to as horizontal sensors (108 to 109).
[0031] In the example illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4, the vertical sensors (101 to 104) are four obstacle detection sensors spaced apart from each other by a certain distance to measure the distance to an object located below in the vertical direction. Accordingly, the width direction of the trunk is divided into a number of regions corresponding to the number of vertical sensors (101 to 104). In the example illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4, since four vertical sensors (101 to 104) are installed, the trunk is divided into four regions in the width direction; however, the number of vertical sensors (101 to 104) installed and the number of regions divided may be set differently by considering the width direction length of the trunk, etc.
[0032] In addition, in a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the vertical sensors (101 to 104) are installed with four ultrasonic sensors at regular intervals to transmit an ultrasonic signal toward the bottom surface of the trunk in a vertical direction and receive an ultrasonic signal reflected by an object, and generate time difference information indicating the time difference between the time the ultrasonic signal was transmitted and the time the reflected ultrasonic signal was received as detection information and output it to the control unit (200).
[0033] To this end, each ultrasonic sensor may be configured with a transmitter and a receiver as a set. Additionally, each ultrasonic sensor may transmit by including identification information in the ultrasonic signal so that it can distinguish between the ultrasonic signal transmitted by an adjacent ultrasonic sensor and the ultrasonic signal it has transmitted.
[0034] In addition, the control unit (200) can determine whether an object exists by using the time difference information to determine the vertical distance from the obstacle detection sensors (101 to 104) to the floor surface or the vertical distance to the object.
[0035] In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, an ultrasonic sensor was used as the vertical sensor (101 to 104), but it may be implemented with other types of sensors capable of measuring distance, such as a laser sensor or an infrared sensor.
[0036] Meanwhile, the horizontal sensors (108~109) included in the sensor module (100) of the present invention transmit a signal in the horizontal direction and detect a signal reflected by an object, thereby determining whether an object exists within the detection area of the sensor in the horizontal direction.
[0037] In the illustration of FIGS. 3 and 4, the horizontal sensors (108, 109) are installed on the rearmost body of the vehicle, on the side where the trunk lid (510) is joined to the body when the trunk is closed, so that the detection of an object by the horizontal sensors (108-109) indicates that the object loaded in the trunk is protruding out of the rear body of the vehicle.
[0038] In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the horizontal sensors (108-109) are not limited in their implementation method as long as they are sensors capable of measuring distance, such as laser sensors, infrared sensors, and ultrasonic sensors. Additionally, in the case of the horizontal sensors (108-109), the signal transmitting and receiving parts may be separated on the left and right sides, and one horizontal sensor (108-109) may be installed on the left and the other horizontal sensor (108-109) may be installed on the right.
[0039] In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a plurality of lamps (400) are installed to correspond to each of the vertical sensors (101 to 104) among the obstacle detection sensors, and whether there is an obstacle to trunk closing in the area detected by the obstacle detection sensor is indicated by a first color (red - obstacle present) or a second color (green - obstacle not present).
[0040] As illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4, each lamp (401–404) may be installed on the trunk lid (510), or may be installed at a position (530) corresponding to each obstacle detection sensor (101–104) in the vehicle body (530) visible when the trunk lid (510) is open. That is, in the example illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4, each lamp (401–404) corresponds one-to-one with the obstacle detection sensors (101–104) and corresponds to each of the multiple trunk areas.
[0041] In the example illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4, assuming that an object is placed in the area detected by vertical sensor 3 (103) and vertical sensor 4 (104) among the obstacle detection sensors and that its height interferes with closing the trunk lid (510), the first color (red) of lamp 3 (403) and lamp 4 (404) corresponding to the vertical sensor 3 (103) and vertical sensor 4 (104) where the object is detected is illuminated. Then, the second color (green) of lamp 1 (401) and lamp 2 (402) corresponding to sensor 1 (101) and sensor 2 (102) in the area where no object is detected and there is no obstacle is illuminated.
[0042] With this configuration, the user can identify the location of the object that causes a problem with closing the trunk by identifying the location where the first color of the lamps (400) is lit.
[0043] In addition, the horizontal sensors (108, 109) can also measure the distance in the same way to identify the corresponding area based on the distance at which the object is detected. For example, if we assume that there is an object inside the trunk that is not high in height but is long in length, the vertical sensors (101 to 104) cannot detect the object that interferes with closing the trunk.
[0044] However, if the distance measured using the horizontal sensors (108-109) is shorter than the width of both ends of the trunk, it can be confirmed that there is an object protruding outside the trunk in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body, and by using that distance, it can be determined whether the protruding part is located in an area corresponding to which of the plurality of lamps (400) mentioned above, and the location of the obstacle can be informed to the user by illuminating the first color (red) of the lamp (400) in that area.
[0045] For example, in the example illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4, if the length 140 cm corresponding to the width of both sides of the trunk is the critical distance for the horizontal distance, the width of each area can be pre-set to 30 cm, 40 cm, 40 cm, and 30 cm, and if the distance measured by the control unit (200) through the horizontal sensor (108) is 140 cm, it means that there is no object protruding outside the trunk. In contrast, if the distance measured by the control unit (200) through the horizontal sensor (108) is 60 cm, it means that an object protruding outside the trunk has protruded outside the trunk in the area corresponding to the lamp 2 (402), and as described below, the control unit (200) lights up the first color (red) of the lamp 2 (402).
[0046] Meanwhile, the control unit (200) communicates with the main controller (not shown) of the vehicle to receive a signal indicating the trunk status, and when the trunk closing signal is received, it controls the sensor module (100) described above to generate detection signals. Then, the control unit (200) controls a plurality of obstacle detection sensors (101~109) included in the sensor module (100) described above to receive time difference information from the obstacle detection sensors (101~109), and uses the time difference information to measure the distance from the obstacle detection sensors (101~109) to an object.
[0047] The control unit (200) compares the measured distance with a critical distance that interferes with closing the trunk, checks whether there is an object inside the trunk that interferes with closing the trunk and the location of the object, lights up the first color (red) of the lamp (400) corresponding to the area corresponding to the location, and lights up the second color (green) of the lamp (400) corresponding to the area where there is no object that interferes with closing the trunk.
[0048] A control unit (200) according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention may be implemented as a CPU (Central Processing Unit) or a similar device (e.g., MPU (Micro Processing Unit), MCU (Micro Control Unit), etc.), and in addition to the functions described above, controls the overall functions of the trunk closing obstruction detection device of the present invention and performs the trunk closing obstruction detection method of the vehicle illustrated in FIG. 2.
[0049] Meanwhile, the laser light generator (300) is installed at a predetermined location in the trunk and irradiates laser light in the direction where an object is located according to a control signal input from the control unit (200). In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the laser light generator (300) is installed at the center of the trunk lid (510), but the installation location can be changed according to the design specifications.
[0050] With further reference to FIG. 2, a method for detecting an obstruction to the trunk closing of an automobile according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described.
[0051] However, since the trunk closing obstruction detection method illustrated in FIG. 2 is performed by the trunk closing obstruction detection device described with reference to FIG. 1, the functions performed at each step are identical. Therefore, to avoid duplication of explanation, the following description will focus on the overall flow.
[0052] First, when the trunk is opened, the control unit (200) communicates with the vehicle's main controller (not shown) to receive a trunk status signal, and when the user presses the trunk closing button, it receives a closing signal (S210).
[0053] A control unit (200) that receives a trunk closing signal outputs a control signal to obstacle detection sensors (101 to 109) to control the obstacle detection sensors (101 to 109) to output a detection signal, and measures the horizontal and vertical distances inside the trunk using detection information input from each obstacle detection sensor (101 to 109) (S220). For example, if the obstacle detection sensors (101 to 109) are implemented as ultrasonic sensors, the control unit (200) receives time difference information as detection information input from each obstacle detection sensor (101 to 109), and can measure the distance by multiplying half of the time difference information by the speed (340 m / s) of the corresponding signal.
[0054] After that, the control unit (200) compares the distance calculated corresponding to each obstruction detection sensor (101~109) as described above with a preset threshold distance to determine whether there is an obstruction that obstructs trunk closing and the location of the obstruction (S230).
[0055] That is, the control unit (200) determines that an obstruction exists if the distance from the vertical sensors (101 to 104) to the top of an object inside the trunk is shorter than a preset threshold distance (e.g., the length from the height of the vertical sensors when the trunk lid is open to the height of the inner surface of the trunk lid when the trunk lid is closed), and determines that an obstruction exists because the object is installed higher than the height at which the trunk can be closed, and specifies that an obstruction exists in the area of the obstruction detection sensor corresponding to the distance.
[0056] In the same way, for the horizontal sensors (108-109), the critical distance is the distance between the two ends of the trunk, and if the distance measured through the horizontal sensors (108, 109) is shorter than the critical distance, it indicates that an obstruction is protruding outward, and depending on the measured horizontal distance, it is possible to determine which area of the vertical sensors (101-104) has an area protruding outward from the trunk.
[0057] Meanwhile, if there are no obstacles, the control unit (200) lights up a second color (green) on all lamps (400) to indicate that the trunk can be closed and notifies the vehicle's main controller (not shown) of this (S251), and the vehicle's main controller (not shown) closes the trunk (S253).
[0058] Meanwhile, if it is determined that there is an obstacle inside the trunk (S240), the control unit (200) lights up the first color (red) of the lamp (400) corresponding to the location of the obstacle specified in step S230 (S261), and controls the laser light generator (300) in step S230 so that laser light is emitted in the direction of the location of the obstacle (S263).
[0059] In step S263, the laser light only needs to point to a location sufficient to specify the approximate location of the obstruction. Therefore, in the case of the vertical sensors (101–104), the measured vertical distance is smaller than the threshold distance, but in the case of the horizontal sensors (108–109), the measured horizontal distance is equal to the threshold distance. Since this indicates that a high object is placed inside the trunk, the control unit (200) sets the center of the trunk floor surface of the area having a vertical distance smaller than the threshold distance as the (x,y) coordinate and sets the measured height as the z-axis coordinate, thereby causing the laser light to be irradiated toward the corresponding (x,y,z) coordinate.
[0060] Likewise, if the vertical distance measured by the vertical sensors (101-104) is longer than the critical distance, but the horizontal distance measured by the horizontal sensors (108-109) is less than the critical distance, since a long object in the direction of the vehicle body is placed in the trunk, the distance measured by the horizontal sensors (108, 109) in the x-axis direction can be set as the x-coordinate, the rear end of the trunk in the y-axis direction can be set as the y-coordinate, and the trunk floor surface can be set as the z-axis coordinate. However, this method of setting coordinates is merely an example where the laser light generator (300) is installed on the trunk lid (510), and it goes without saying that it can be changed depending on the internal structure of the trunk, the installation location of the laser light generator (300), etc.
[0061] The method for detecting obstacles to closing the trunk of a vehicle according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention described so far can be implemented as a computer program that is executed as a computer-executable instruction and stored in a non-transient storage medium.
[0062] Storage media include all types of recording devices in which data that can be read by a computer system is stored. Examples of computer-readable storage media include ROM, RAM, CD-ROM, and optical data storage devices. Additionally, computer-readable storage media are distributed across networked computer systems, allowing computer-readable code to be stored and executed in a distributed manner.
[0063] The present invention has been described above with reference to its preferred embodiments. Those skilled in the art will understand that the present invention may be embodied in modified forms without departing from the essential characteristics of the invention. Therefore, the disclosed embodiments should be considered in an illustrative rather than a restrictive sense. The scope of the invention is defined by the claims, not by the foregoing description, and all variations within the scope of the claims should be interpreted as being included in the invention.
