Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to an electronic device, a method of operation, and a non-transient computer-readable storage medium thereof for performing reliability verification of the particle size distribution of a river, and more specifically, to an electronic device, a method of operation, and a non-transient computer-readable storage medium thereof for obtaining more accurate results of the particle size distribution of a river by verifying the reliability of the particle size distribution of a river. Background Technology
[0003] Sediment load information of rivers is used as essential basic data for the design of river structures, management of dam reservoir capacity, river environment assessment, and water resource planning.
[0004] Generally, since the sediment load of a river is calculated by multiplying the flow rate and the suspended sediment concentration (SSC), high reliability of information on suspended sediment concentration within the river is required for precise sediment load calculation.
[0005] Furthermore, the particle size distribution (PSD), which represents the composition ratio of suspended sediments by particle size, is a key factor determining particle settling velocity and the plasticity and transport capabilities of a river. It is essential information for controlling the accuracy of sediment load estimation and precisely predicting changes in river topography by understanding transport characteristics by particle size.
[0006] Accordingly, suspended sediment sensors based on the principle of laser diffraction are widely used recently to measure not only the concentration of suspended sediment in rivers but also the particle size distribution, which is the composition ratio by particle size, in real time.
[0007] A suspended sediment sensor based on the principle of laser diffraction can obtain volume fraction information for multiple particle size ranges (or particle size ranges, bins) by collecting the intensity of laser light emitted from within the sensor and scattered by suspended particles in a river using a multi-ring detector, and then numerically converting the angle and intensity information of the scattered light through a physical inversion model.
[0008] Suspended sediment sensors installed and operated at river sites continuously generate data on the total concentration of suspended sediment and volume fractions corresponding to each particle size range at preset sampling cycles, and the user acquires and records the measurements output from the sensors in the form of time-series data arranged according to the flow of time.
[0009] Conventionally, research has been conducted based on such time-series data to observe changes in particle size distribution at the time when suspended sediment inflow occurs due to rainfall, or to identify the average sediment behavior characteristics of the river by averaging long-term accumulated data.
[0010] As an example of the technology forming the background of the present invention, U.S. Patent Publication No. 4696571 (September 29, 1987) discloses a method and apparatus for measuring the mass and size of sediments suspended in a liquid. This invention is based on laser technology and involves irradiating a polarized laser light source onto a sample cell containing particles of a size of 5 to 50 microns, and then analyzing the change over time by measuring the amount of light scattered at a 90-degree angle while the particles settle due to gravity.
[0011] As another example of the technology forming the background of the present invention, U.S. Patent Publication No. 4457624 (July 3, 1984) discloses a sensor that determines the size and mass distribution of suspended particles in a liquid using the principles of laser backscattering and sedimentation. This invention measures scattered light generated by a horizontally irradiated polarized laser beam as particles pass through a vertical drop tube, and in particular, maintains high detection sensitivity and resolution even in high-concentration samples by setting the detection angle to an obtuse angle of 165 degrees or more. Prior art literature
[0013] U.S. Patent Publication No. 4696571 (September 29, 1987) U.S. Patent Publication No. 4457624 (July 3, 1984) The problem to be solved
[0014] Conventional laser diffraction-based suspended sediment sensor operation methods have limitations in that they cannot systematically evaluate the stability and consistency of measurement values, which may vary across particle size ranges, because they implicitly assume that concentration and particle size distribution results obtained from a single sensor have the same level of reliability or judge data quality by relying solely on global indicators.
[0015] In particular, it is difficult to distinguish through objective indicators whether fluctuations in measurement values within specific particle size ranges are caused by actual physical suspended sediment behavior or by noise attributed to measurement principles, inversion processes, or the inherent characteristics of the sensor. Consequently, there is a problem in that results from unstable particle size ranges are included in the overall analysis without separate warning, which can lead to misinterpretation of the results.
[0016] The present invention has been devised to solve the aforementioned problems, and aims to provide a method for verifying the reliability of a more accurate particle size distribution of a river by analyzing time-series information of suspended sediment concentration obtained from a river and quantitatively determining the reliability of the river particle size distribution information. means of solving the problem

[0020] In a non-transient computer-readable storage medium storing computer instructions that cause an operation of said electronic device to be performed when executed by a processor of an electronic device according to various embodiments of the present invention, said operation may include a process of obtaining time-series suspended sediment concentration information of a river and volume fraction information of said river corresponding to at least one particle size interval from a suspended sediment sensor; a process of obtaining a reliability analysis time interval from the time-series suspended sediment concentration information of said river based on preset pattern information; a process of obtaining a coefficient of variation for said at least one particle size interval based on the volume fraction information of said river corresponding to the reliability analysis time interval; and a process of determining the reliability of said at least one particle size interval by comparing the obtained coefficient of variation with a preset threshold value. Effects of the invention
[0022] According to various embodiments of the present invention, by establishing a reliability analysis interval based on a hydrological curve pattern according to the trend of changes in suspended sediment concentration in a river, more objective and intensive data verification of the river particle size distribution information can be performed.
[0023] According to various embodiments of the present invention, reliability can be determined by individually judging reliability by calculating a coefficient of variation representing the temporal consistency of the volume fraction for each particle size range, thereby clearly distinguishing between the measurement instability of a specific particle size range and the physical behavior of the actual suspended sediment.
[0024] According to various embodiments of the present invention, by excluding data from particle size ranges determined to have low reliability and recalculating the particle size distribution and representative particle size using only data from reliable ranges, distortion included in the single sensor measurement results can be eliminated and the accuracy of river suspended sediment analysis can be improved.
[0025] According to various embodiments of the present invention, by providing reliability determination results by particle size range in the form of a visualized graph or status flag, the end user can intuitively grasp the validity of measurement data and prevent errors in data interpretation without a complex statistical verification process. Therefore, the definitions of the terms used should be interpreted based on the content throughout this specification and the corresponding functions.
[0030] FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram of a system for performing reliability verification of the particle size distribution of a river according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0031] Referring to FIG. 1, a system (10) for performing reliability verification of the particle size distribution of a river may include a suspended sediment sensor (100) and a server (200). Here, the suspended sediment sensor (100) and the server (200) may be connected to each other via a network via wired or wireless connections. Additionally, the server (200) may be interpreted in various terms such as electronic device or electronic equipment.
[0032] According to one embodiment of the present invention, a reliability verification system (10) can acquire (or measure, sense, or measure) information on the suspended sediment concentration (SSC) and particle size distribution (PSD) of a river (20). Here, the information on the suspended sediment concentration and particle size distribution acquired by the reliability verification system (10) may be time-series information that is continuously measured according to a preset sampling period (or measurement period).
[0033] Specifically, the time-series suspended sediment concentration information may be time-series information indicating the concentration of suspended sediment in the river (20) over time. Additionally, the particle size distribution information includes volume fraction information of suspended sediment corresponding to at least one particle size, and the volume fraction for each particle size may also be configured in the form of time-series data that varies over time.
[0034] According to one embodiment of the present invention, a suspended sediment sensor (100) is installed in a river (20) to acquire (or measure, gauge, sense) characteristic information of suspended sediment. Specifically, the suspended sediment sensor (100) can acquire at least one of the concentration and particle size distribution of suspended sediment in real time and transmit it to a server (200).
[0035] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the suspended sediment sensor (100) can obtain the concentration and particle size distribution of suspended sediment based on the principle of laser diffraction.
[0036] Specifically, the suspended sediment sensor (100) can obtain time-series suspended sediment concentration information and particle size distribution information of the river (20) by collecting the intensity of laser light emitted from inside the sensor that is scattered by suspended particles in the river (20) using a multi-ring detector, and then numerically converting the angle and light intensity information of the scattered light through a physical inversion model.
[0037] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the suspended sediment sensor (100) may be a Laser In-Situ Scattering and Transmissometry (LISST). The LISST can obtain the particle size and concentration of suspended sediment in real time in a river (20). Specifically, based on the measured scattered light information, the LISST can calculate time-series suspended sediment concentration information and, at the same time, calculate volume fraction information subdivided by particle size.
[0038] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the suspended sediment sensor (100) may have a plurality of pre-set particle size sections within the entire measurable particle size range. Specifically, the plurality of particle size sections may be defined by dividing the entire particle size range measurable by the suspended sediment sensor (100) into a plurality of sections. For example, the suspended sediment sensor (100) may obtain particle size distribution information of the river (20) by dividing the entire measurable particle size range into a plurality of particle size sections and calculating the ratio (or volume fraction) of the volume occupied by the suspended particles belonging to each particle size section.
[0039] According to one embodiment of the present invention, at least part of the information acquisition process by the above-described suspended sediment sensor (100) may be performed by a server (200). For example, the suspended sediment sensor (100) transmits original data (or raw data) including angle and light intensity information of the collected scattered light to the server (200), and the server (200) can calculate time-series suspended sediment concentration information and volume fraction information by particle size range.
[0040] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the suspended sediment sensor (100) may include a data logger (110) that records (or stores) and transmits acquired data. In this case, the data logger (110) acquires (or receives, collects) time-series suspended sediment concentration information and particle size distribution information acquired by the suspended sediment sensor (100), and stores the data, and can transmit the stored data to the server (200) via a wired or wireless connection through a network with the server (200).
[0041] According to one embodiment of the present invention, a server (200) can verify (or determine, confirm) the reliability of at least one of time-series suspended sediment concentration information and particle size distribution information. Specifically, the server (200) can verify the reliability of particle size distribution information of a river (20). In this case, the server (200) can correct (or recalculate, modify, correct, or rectify) the acquired particle size distribution information based on the verification result.
[0042] Specifically, the server (200) can obtain time-series suspended sediment concentration information of the river (20) and volume fraction information corresponding to at least one particle size range from the suspended sediment sensor (100). In this case, the server (200) can verify the reliability of the volume fraction information corresponding to at least one particle size range obtained based on the time-series suspended sediment concentration information.
[0043] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the server (200) can set a reliability analysis interval based on suspended sediment concentration information, based on the time-series behavioral characteristics of suspended sediment observed in the river (20) environment.
[0044] Specifically, in river or channel environments, the behavior of suspended sediment typically exhibits characteristics where the concentration and particle size distribution remain relatively stable over time under normal ground conditions. However, when events such as rainfall or sediment supply occur, the suspended sediment concentration may increase and then decrease, exhibiting a hydrograph-like temporal variation. In contrast, when events such as rainfall or sediment supply occur, the average particle size may exhibit a relatively gradual change compared to the change in suspended sediment concentration.
[0045] However, in typical natural river environments, the particle size distribution can change depending on the rising and falling phases of the hydrograph. Specifically, during the initial stage of an event (rising phase), fine particles from the riverbed or surface are preferentially mobilized; however, as flow velocity and shear stress increase, relatively coarser particles also transition to a suspended state, which can alter the average particle size. Furthermore, during the falling phase of the event, temporal variability in the particle size distribution may occur, such as the preferential shedding of coarse-grained particles and a distribution dominated by fine particles due to a decrease in flow energy and differences in settling velocities by particle size.
[0046] However, according to one embodiment of the present invention, in an environment where homogeneity of supply and flow conditions is assumed, such as when sediment having the same particle size characteristics is continuously supplied under constant conditions and sufficient mixing of the riverbed is achieved, the temporal change in average particle size may be relatively limited and gradual compared to the range of change in suspended sediment concentration, and thus have physical characteristics.
[0047] Accordingly, the server (200) can identify abnormal values of the average particle size change due to the measurement environment, etc. by utilizing physical consistency, which means that the shape of the particle size distribution must be statistically maintained in a section where the homogeneity of the flow and supply conditions is secured, as a key criterion for reliability verification.
[0048] For example, in the case of suspended sediment behavior in a river (20), if the same sediment is continuously supplied under constant conditions and the measurement point of the suspended sediment sensor (100) is located in a section where sufficient mixing has occurred, the shape of the particle size distribution can be maintained throughout the entire measurement section. That is, when an event occurs, the volume fraction by particle size section over time can be maintained within a statistically constant range.
[0049] Accordingly, the server (200) can set a reliability analysis interval based on the characteristic that the shape of the particle size distribution must be maintained constant during the event interval in which the above-described suspended sediment concentration changes in the form of a hydrograph due to rainfall, sediment supply, etc.
[0050] In this way, the server (200) can precisely determine whether the observed variation is due to actual suspended sediment behavior or a reliability degradation factor caused by the measurement environment by analyzing the variability of the volume fraction of each particle size range occurring within the range where physical consistency must be ensured through the setting of the analysis range.
[0051] For example, the server (200) can set a reliability analysis section for volume fraction information corresponding to at least one particle size section obtained based on a hydrological curve pattern according to the trend of change in suspended sediment concentration of the river (20).
[0052] Specifically, the server (200) can obtain a reliability analysis time interval from the acquired time series suspended sediment concentration information based on preset pattern information.
[0053] Here, the preset pattern information is in the form of a hydrograph in which the suspended sediment concentration of the river (20) begins to rise from a base level and the risen suspended sediment concentration returns to the base level. When the suspended sediment concentration changes in the form of the hydrograph described above, the volume fraction by particle size range corresponding to this time can be maintained constant.
[0054] More specifically, the server (200) can extract an event occurrence interval from the time-series suspended sediment concentration information of the river (20) based on preset pattern information. In this case, the server (200) can define the time-series suspended sediment concentration information from the point where it starts to rise from the baseline level to the point where it recovers to the baseline level as the event occurrence interval based on the preset pattern information, and can extract the event occurrence interval from the time-series suspended sediment concentration information.
[0055] Accordingly, the reliability analysis time interval can be obtained from the event occurrence interval extracted from the time-series suspended sediment concentration information of the river (20) based on preset pattern information. Specifically, the reliability analysis time interval may be a time-series interval defined by the start time and end time of the extracted event occurrence interval.
[0056] According to various embodiments of the present invention, by establishing a reliability analysis interval based on a hydrological curve pattern according to the trend of changes in suspended sediment concentration in a river, more objective and intensive data verification of the river particle size distribution information can be performed.
[0057] According to one embodiment of the present invention, when a reliability analysis time interval is set, the server (200) can determine the reliability of the volume fraction for each particle size interval corresponding to the reliability analysis time interval.
[0058] Specifically, when a reliability analysis time interval is set, the server (200) can obtain a coefficient of variation (CV) based on volume fraction information of the river (20) corresponding to the reliability analysis time interval.
[0059] Here, the coefficient of variation can be defined as a quantitative indicator representing how consistently the volume fraction information for each particle size interval is maintained over time within the reliability analysis time interval. In this case, the coefficient of variation can be obtained based on the ratio of the mean and standard deviation of the volume fraction information corresponding to the reliability analysis time interval.
[0060] Accordingly, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the server (200) can precisely determine whether the observed variation is due to actual suspended sediment behavior or a reliability degradation factor caused by the measurement environment by analyzing the variation of the volume fraction of each particle size range occurring within the section where physical consistency must be ensured, based on the coefficient of variation described above.
[0061] Specifically, the server (200) can determine the reliability of at least one particle size range by comparing the coefficient of variation and a preset threshold. For example, the server (200) can determine at least one particle size range as a reliable range if the acquired coefficient of variation is less than the preset threshold, and determine at least one particle size range as a limited reliability range if the acquired coefficient of variation is greater than or equal to the preset threshold.
[0062] According to various embodiments of the present invention, reliability can be determined by individually judging reliability by calculating a coefficient of variation representing the temporal consistency of the volume fraction for each particle size range, thereby clearly distinguishing between the measurement instability of a specific particle size range and the physical behavior of the actual suspended sediment.
[0063] And, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the server (200) can recalculate the acquired particle size distribution information based on the reliability judgment result described above.
[0064] Specifically, the server (200) can recalculate the particle size distribution information of the river (20) based on the volume fraction information of the river (20) corresponding to at least one particle size range determined to be a reliable range. For example, the server (200) can set the volume fraction information corresponding to the particle size range determined to be a reliable range as valid data to recalculate the overall particle size distribution curve or recalculate the representative particle size for each measurement period (or measurement time).
[0065] According to various embodiments of the present invention, by excluding data from particle size ranges determined to have low reliability and recalculating the particle size distribution and representative particle size using only data from reliable ranges, distortion included in the single sensor measurement results can be eliminated and the accuracy of river suspended sediment analysis can be improved.
[0066] Additionally, the server (200) can control the output of a trustworthy section and a trust-limited section based on the above-described trustworthiness judgment result. Specifically, the server (200) controls the output of the trustworthy section and the trust-limited section to a user terminal or display device by distinguishing them with different identification markers (e.g., color, symbol, text, etc.), thereby enabling the user to intuitively verify the quality of the measurement data.
[0067] According to various embodiments of the present invention, by providing reliability determination results by particle size range in the form of a visualized graph or status flag, the end user can intuitively grasp the validity of measurement data and prevent errors in data interpretation without a complex statistical verification process.

[0072] Here, the storage unit (210) may include a volatile or non-volatile recording medium.
[0073] The storage unit (210) may include at least one of various data required for the operation of the server (200'), water level information of the river (20), and hydrological curve pattern information according to the trend of changes in suspended sediment concentration of the river (20). Additionally, the storage unit (210) may store computer commands, such as programs or software, that cause the processor (220) to perform the operation of the server (200') for verifying the reliability of the particle size distribution of the river (20).
[0074] Here, the storage unit (210) may include a magnetic storage medium or a flash storage medium, but the scope of the present invention is not limited thereto. The storage unit (210) may include internal memory and / or external memory, and may include a volatile memory such as DRAM, SRAM, or SDRAM, a non-volatile memory such as OTPROM (one time programmable ROM), PROM, EPROM, EEPROM, mask ROM, flash ROM, NAND flash memory, or NOR flash memory, a flash drive such as an SSD, CF (compact flash) card, SD card, Micro-SD card, Mini-SD card, or memory stick, or a storage device such as an HDD.
[0075] The processor (220) can control the overall operation of the server (200') using various programs stored in the storage unit (210). In particular, the processor (220) can verify the reliability of at least one of the time-series suspended sediment concentration information and particle size distribution information.
[0076] Specifically, the processor (220) can verify the reliability of the particle size distribution information of the river (20). In this case, the processor (220) can correct (or recalculate, modify, rectify, or calibrate) the acquired particle size distribution information based on the verification result. Then, the processor (220) can control the output of the above-described verification result to a user terminal (or display device). A specific method for the processor (220) to perform reliability verification of the particle size distribution of the river is described below in FIG. 3.
[0078] FIG. 3 shows a reliability verification flowchart according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0079] Referring to FIG. 3, the processor (220) can verify the reliability of at least one of the time series suspended sediment concentration information and particle size distribution information.
[0080] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the processor (220) can verify the reliability of the particle size distribution information of the river (20).
[0081] Specifically, the processor (220) can perform the following steps: obtaining time-series suspended sediment concentration information of the river (20) and volume fraction information of the river (20) corresponding to at least one particle size interval from the suspended sediment sensor (100) (S310); extracting an event occurrence interval from the time-series suspended sediment concentration information of the river (20) based on preset pattern information (S320); setting a reliability analysis time interval based on the event occurrence interval (S330); obtaining a coefficient of variation for at least one particle size interval based on the volume fraction information of the river (20) corresponding to the reliability analysis time interval (S340); determining the reliability of at least one particle size interval by comparing the obtained coefficient of variation with a preset threshold value (S350); and controlling to output a reliable interval and a reliability limit interval (S360).
[0082] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the processor (220) can obtain time-series suspended sediment concentration information of the river (20) and volume fraction information of the river (20) corresponding to at least one particle size interval from the suspended sediment sensor (100), as in the above-described S310 process.
[0083] Here, the time series suspended sediment concentration information may be time series information showing changes in the concentration of suspended sediment in the river (20) over time.
[0084] Additionally, the particle size range is a plurality of sections that divide the entire measurable particle size range of the suspended sediment sensor (100) into multiple sections, and the suspended sediment sensor (100) divides the entire measurable particle size range into multiple particle size ranges and can obtain the ratio of the volume occupied by the suspended particles belonging to each particle size range.
[0085] Accordingly, the volume fraction information of the river (20) corresponding to at least one particle size range may be the ratio (volume fraction) of suspended sediment corresponding to at least one particle size range. In this case, the volume fraction information of the river (20) corresponding to at least one particle size range may also be configured in the form of time-series data that varies over time.
[0087] FIG. 4a shows the time-series suspended sediment concentration according to one embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 4b shows the volume fraction of the river by particle size range according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0088] Referring to FIGS. 4a and 4b, the processor (220) can obtain time-series suspended sediment concentration information (410) of the river (20) and volume fraction information (420) of the river (20) corresponding to at least one particle size interval from the suspended sediment sensor (100).
[0089] Specifically, the time-series suspended sediment concentration information (410) may be data showing a change in the total volume concentration of suspended sediment within the stream (20) over time. For example, the time-series suspended sediment concentration information (410) may show a change in suspended sediment concentration according to a preset measurement cycle for each of the plurality of suspended sediment sensors (LISST #1, #2 and #3).
[0090] Additionally, the volume fraction information (420) of the river (20) corresponding to at least one particle size range may represent the volume fraction of suspended sediment corresponding to each of the multiple particle size ranges within the entire particle size range measurable by the suspended sediment sensor (100) for each of the multiple suspended sediment sensors (LISST #1, #2 and #3). In this case, the horizontal axis of the volume fraction information (420) of the river (20) corresponding to at least one particle size range may be defined as a representative value (or median value) representing each of the multiple particle size ranges.
[0092] Referring again to FIG. 3, the processor (220) can verify the reliability of volume fraction information corresponding to at least one particle size interval obtained based on time-series suspended sediment concentration information. In this case, the processor (220) can set a reliability analysis interval through the suspended sediment concentration information based on the time-series behavioral characteristics of suspended sediment observed in the river (20) environment.
[0093] Specifically, in river or channel environments, the behavior of suspended sediment typically exhibits characteristics where sediment concentration and particle size distribution remain relatively stable over time under normal ground conditions; however, during events such as rainfall or sediment supply, suspended sediment concentration may show a hydrograph-like temporal variation in which it increases and then decreases again. In contrast, during events such as rainfall or sediment supply, the average particle size may exhibit a relatively gradual change compared to changes in suspended sediment concentration.
[0094] Accordingly, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the behavior of suspended sediment in a river (20) can be maintained in the shape of the particle size distribution over the entire measurement section when the same sediment is continuously supplied under constant conditions and the measurement point of the suspended sediment sensor (100) is located in a section where sufficient mixing has occurred. That is, at the time of an event, the volume fraction by particle size section over time can be maintained within a statistically constant range.
[0095] However, in typical natural river environments, the particle size distribution can change depending on the rising and falling phases of the hydrograph.
[0096] However, according to one embodiment of the present invention, in an environment where homogeneity of supply and flow conditions is assumed, such as when sediment having the same particle size characteristics is continuously supplied under constant conditions and sufficient mixing of the riverbed is achieved, the temporal change in average particle size may be relatively limited and gradual compared to the range of change in suspended sediment concentration, and thus have physical characteristics.
[0097] Accordingly, the processor (220) can identify abnormal values of the average particle size change due to the measurement environment, etc. by utilizing physical consistency, which means that the shape of the particle size distribution must be statistically constant in the section where the homogeneity of the flow and supply conditions is secured, as a key criterion for reliability verification.
[0098] For example, the processor (220) can set a reliability analysis interval based on the characteristic that the shape of the particle size distribution must be maintained constant during an event interval in which the above-described suspended sediment concentration changes in the form of a hydrograph due to rainfall, sediment supply, etc.
[0099] Specifically, the processor (220) can obtain a reliability analysis time interval from the time-series suspended sediment concentration information of the river (20) based on preset pattern information.
[0100] More specifically, the processor (220) can extract an event occurrence interval from the time-series suspended sediment concentration information of the river based on preset pattern information, as in the process S320 described above. Then, the processor (220) can set a reliability analysis time interval based on the event occurrence interval, as in the process S330 described above. A specific method for the processor (220) to set the reliability analysis time interval based on preset pattern information is described below in FIG. 5.
[0102] Figure 5 shows the event occurrence interval of time-series suspended sediment concentration information according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0103] Referring to FIG. 5, the processor (220) can obtain time-series suspended sediment concentration information of a river (20) from a suspended sediment sensor (100). Here, the horizontal axis of the time-series suspended sediment concentration information may represent time, and the vertical axis may represent suspended sediment concentration (SSC).
[0104] In this case, the processor (220) can obtain a reliability analysis time interval from the time-series suspended sediment concentration information of the river (20) based on preset pattern information.
[0105] Specifically, the processor (220) can set a reliability analysis section for volume fraction information corresponding to at least one particle size section obtained based on a hydrological curve pattern according to the trend of change in suspended sediment concentration of the river (20).
[0106] For example, the processor (220) can extract an event occurrence interval from time-series suspended sediment concentration information of the river (20) based on preset pattern information. Then, the processor (220) can set a reliability analysis time interval based on the event occurrence interval.
[0107] Here, the preset pattern information is in the form of a hydrograph in which the suspended sediment concentration of the river (20) begins to rise from a base level and the risen suspended sediment concentration returns to the base level. When the suspended sediment concentration changes in the form of the hydrograph described above, the volume fraction by particle size range corresponding to this time can be maintained constant.
[0108] Accordingly, the processor (220) can detect the point in time (start) when the suspended sediment concentration begins to rise from a base level, which is a state of maintaining a stable suspended sediment concentration normally, based on preset pattern information, and then detect (or identify, confirm) the point in time (end) when the risen concentration returns to the base level after passing a peak.
[0109] As a result, the processor (220) defines the interval from the point in time when the time-series suspended sediment concentration information begins to rise from the base level (start) to the point in time when the risen suspended sediment concentration returns to the base level (end) as the event occurrence interval, and can extract the said event occurrence interval. That is, the processor (220) can extract the event occurrence interval from the time-series suspended sediment concentration information of the river (20) based on preset pattern information.
[0110] Here, the event occurrence section in the river (20) is considered to be a section where the same sediment is supplied, transported, and mixed under constant conditions, and the shape of the particle size distribution during the event occurrence section is assumed to be substantially (or statistically) maintained.
[0111] In addition, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the processor (220) may set a reliability analysis time interval based on the extracted event occurrence interval. Specifically, the reliability analysis time interval may be a time series interval defined by the start time and end time of the extracted event occurrence interval.
[0112] Accordingly, the processor (220) can determine whether the measured value reflects the actual physical suspended sediment behavior or is an unstable signal caused by the measurement and inversion process by analyzing the time-series variability represented by the volume fraction for each particle size interval within the reliability analysis time interval during which the shape of the particle size distribution must be maintained constant.
[0113] According to various embodiments of the present invention, by establishing a reliability analysis interval based on a hydrological curve pattern according to the trend of changes in suspended sediment concentration in a river, more objective and intensive data verification of the river particle size distribution information can be performed.
[0115] Referring again to FIG. 3, the processor (220) can set a reliability analysis interval based on the characteristic that the shape of the particle size distribution must be kept constant during the event interval in which the above-described suspended sediment concentration changes in the form of a hydrograph due to rainfall, sediment supply, etc.
[0116] And, when a reliability analysis time interval is set, the processor (220) can determine the reliability of the volume fraction for each particle size interval corresponding to the reliability analysis time interval.
[0117] Specifically, when a reliability analysis time interval is set as in the above-described S340 process, the processor (220) can obtain a coefficient of variation (CV) based on volume fraction information of the river (20) corresponding to the reliability analysis time interval.
[0118] Here, the coefficient of variation can be defined as a quantitative indicator representing how consistently the volume fraction information for each particle size interval is maintained over time within the reliability analysis time interval. A specific method for the processor (220) to obtain the coefficient of variation is described below in FIGS. 6a and 6b.
[0120] FIG. 6a shows the volume fraction of particle size range i in the reliability analysis time interval according to one embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 6b shows the volume fraction of particle size range j in the reliability analysis time interval according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0121] Referring to FIGS. 6a and 6b, the processor (220) can analyze how consistently the volume fraction information for each particle size interval is maintained over time within the reliability analysis time interval. Alternatively, the processor (220) can analyze the time-series variability of the volume fraction for each particle size interval within the set reliability analysis time interval.
[0122] Specifically, the processor (220) can obtain statistical characteristic information of the volume fraction information of the river (20) by particle size interval corresponding to the reliability analysis time interval. In this case, the processor (220) can obtain statistical characteristic information of the volume fraction information of the river (20) by particle size interval from the suspended sediment sensor (100). Here, the suspended sediment sensor may be LISST-200x, but is not limited thereto.
[0123] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the suspended sediment sensor (100) can provide volume fraction information by subdividing the entire measurement range of the suspended sediment sensor (100) into 36 particle size intervals (or particle size classes). In this case, the processor (220) can obtain volume fraction information for each of the 36 particle size intervals. Here, the number of the particle size intervals described above can be varied and is not limited to a specific value.
[0124] According to one embodiment of the present invention, particle size ranges Bin i and Bin j may represent different ranges among the plurality of particle size ranges described above, wherein Bin j may be defined as a specific range among the plurality of particle size ranges where the calculated coefficient of variation appears significantly greater than or equal to a preset threshold value.
[0125] For example, the processor (220) has a reliability analysis time interval (t s to t e Volume fraction information of particle size range i corresponding to ) (610, V i If (t)) remains at a constant level over time with low variability, it can be determined that the measurement of particle size range i was performed stably (or normally).
[0126] In contrast, the processor (220) has a reliability analysis time interval (t s to t e Volume fraction information of particle size range j corresponding to ) (620, V j If (t)) exhibits significant variability over time, it can be determined that the measurement of the particle size range j contains noise caused by turbulence, bubbles, or optical interference from the sensor, rather than the actual behavior of the suspended sediment.
[0127] Accordingly, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the processor (220) can obtain a coefficient of variation that determines how consistently volume fraction information corresponding to the reliability analysis time interval for each particle size interval is maintained.
[0128] In this case, the coefficient of variation can be defined as a quantitative indicator representing how consistently the volume fraction information for each particle size range is maintained over time within the reliability analysis time interval.
[0129] Specifically, the coefficient of variation can be obtained based on the ratio of the mean and standard deviation of the volume fraction information corresponding to the reliability analysis time interval.
[0130] More specifically, the processor (220) can obtain the coefficient of variation of volume fraction information for each particle size interval within the reliability analysis time interval based on the following mathematical formula 1.
[0131]
[0132] Here, is the coefficient of variation, and is the average, is the standard deviation, and is the index of the particle size range.
[0133] For example, the coefficient of variation for particle size range i is the reliability analysis time interval (t s to t e The standard deviation of particle size interval i corresponding to ) is the reliability analysis time interval (t s to t e Since it is smaller than the standard deviation of the particle size interval j corresponding to ), it may be smaller than the coefficient of variation of the particle size interval j. In this case, the processor (220) can determine that the variability of the particle size interval i is smaller than the variability of the particle size interval j.
[0134] Accordingly, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the processor (220) can precisely determine whether the observed variation is due to actual suspended sediment behavior or a reliability degradation factor caused by the measurement environment by analyzing the variation of the volume fraction of each particle size range occurring within the range where physical consistency must be ensured, based on the coefficient of variation described above.
[0136] Referring again to FIG. 3, when a reliability analysis time interval is set, the processor (220) can obtain a coefficient of variation based on volume fraction information of the river (20) corresponding to the reliability analysis time interval. In this case, the processor (220) can determine the reliability of at least one particle size interval based on the coefficient of variation for at least one particle size interval.
[0137] And, the processor (220) can determine the reliability of at least one particle size range by comparing the coefficient of variation and a preset threshold value, as in the S350 process described above.
[0138] For example, the processor (220) may determine at least one particle size range as a reliable range when the acquired coefficient of variation is less than a preset threshold, and determine at least one particle size range as a reliable limit range when the acquired coefficient of variation is greater than or equal to a preset threshold.
[0139] Specifically, the processor (220) can classify (or label) a particle size range in which the calculated coefficient of variation is less than a preset threshold as a reliable range by determining that the measurement data in that range maintains time-series consistency and appropriately reflects physical behavior.
[0140] More specifically, the processor (220) can classify the particle size range where the calculated coefficient of variation is less than a preset threshold as a reliable range by determining that the shape of the particle size distribution must remain constant during the event range in which the suspended sediment concentration changes in the form of a hydrograph.
[0141] In contrast, the processor (220) may classify a particle size range in which the calculated coefficient of variation is greater than or equal to a preset threshold as a confidence limit range by determining that the variability of the data is outside the physical allowable range due to external factors such as bubbles, turbulence, or inversion error of the sensor.
[0142] Alternatively, the processor (220) may classify a particle size range in which the calculated coefficient of variation is greater than or equal to a preset threshold as a confidence limit range, by determining that the shape of the particle size distribution must remain constant during the event range in which the suspended sediment concentration changes in the form of a hydrograph.
[0143] As a result, the processor (220) can effectively identify noise that occurs selectively only in specific particle size ranges by performing a quantitative comparison based on the coefficient of variation for each particle size range.
[0144] According to one embodiment of the present invention, a preset threshold value may be set to a plurality of threshold values depending on the user's settings or the precision of the analysis. In this case, the processor (220) may classify the reliability of each particle size range into three or more subdivisions based on the plurality of threshold values.
[0145] For example, when a first threshold and a second threshold greater than the first threshold are set, the processor (220) can set a step-by-step reliability grade such that the range where the coefficient of variation is less than the first threshold is 'very reliable', the range where it is greater than the first threshold and less than the second threshold is 'caution (or need to review)', and the range where it is greater than the second threshold is 'unreliable'.
[0146] According to various embodiments of the present invention, reliability can be determined by individually judging reliability by calculating a coefficient of variation representing the temporal consistency of the volume fraction for each particle size range, thereby clearly distinguishing between the measurement instability of a specific particle size range and the physical behavior of the actual suspended sediment.
[0147] And, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the processor (220) can be controlled to output a reliable range and a reliable limited range based on the reliability judgment result, as in the above-described S360 process.
[0148] Specifically, the processor (220) controls the output of the trusted interval and the trusted limited interval to a user terminal or display device by distinguishing them with different identification markers (e.g., color, symbol, text, etc.), thereby enabling the user to intuitively verify the quality of the measurement data. A detailed explanation of this is provided below in FIGS. 7a and 7b.
[0150] FIG. 7a shows a reliability heatmap for the coefficient of variation by particle size range for each of a plurality of events according to one embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 7b shows particle size distribution information according to the reliability judgment result.
[0151] Referring to FIGS. 7a and 7b, the processor (220) can be controlled to output a reliable range and a limited reliable range based on the reliability judgment result.
[0152] Specifically, the processor (220) controls the output of the trusted interval and the trusted limited interval to a user terminal or display device by distinguishing them with different identification marks (e.g., color, symbol, text, etc.), thereby enabling the user to intuitively verify the quality of the measurement data.
[0153] For example, as illustrated in FIG. 7a, the processor (220) can be controlled to output a reliability determination heatmap (710) based on the coefficient of variation (CV) calculated for each of the plurality of hydrological events. Here, each case represents different river conditions, and #1 to #3 represent different suspended sediment sensors (or LISST).
[0154] Specifically, the processor (220) can display cells determined to be in a trustworthy range and cells determined to be in a trustworthy range in different colors (e.g., green and red) or symbols.
[0155] Alternatively, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the processor (220) may assign four levels of reliability grades based on the magnitude of the coefficient of variation. For example, a range where the CV is 10% or less may be classified as green (very stable), a range of 10% to 20% as light green (stable), a range of 20% to 30% as orange (caution), and a range exceeding 30% as red (unstable).
[0156] Additionally, the processor (220) can be controlled to output particle size distribution information (PSD, 720) that reflects the reliability judgment result, as shown in FIG. 7b. Here, the particle size distribution information (720) may represent the ratio (volume fraction) of suspended sand corresponding to a plurality of particle size intervals.
[0157] And, the processor (220) can render the reliable range and the reliable limited range on the particle size distribution information (720) by distinguishing them with different identification marks.
[0158] For example, the processor (220) can control the range of particle sizes corresponding to the reliable range by displaying them with a solid line or a highlighted color (e.g., green), and the range corresponding to the limited reliable range by displaying them with a dotted line or a faint color (e.g., red), so that the user can immediately identify the valid data range.
[0159] In addition, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the processor (220) may recalculate the acquired particle size distribution information based on the reliability judgment result described above. In this case, the processor (220) may be controlled to output the recalculated particle size distribution information.
[0160] Specifically, the processor (220) can recalculate the particle size distribution information of the river (20) based on the volume fraction information of the river (20) corresponding to at least one particle size interval determined to be a reliable interval.
[0161] For example, the processor (220) can recalculate the overall particle size distribution curve or recalculate the representative particle size for each measurement period (or measurement time) by setting volume fraction information corresponding to the particle size range determined to be a reliable range as valid data.
[0162] In this case, the representative particle size for each recalculated measurement cycle (or measurement time) may be the median particle size or average particle size calculated by recalculating the specific gravity of each particle size interval based on the sum of volume fraction information corresponding to the particle size intervals set as valid data.
[0163] Specifically, the processor (220) can renormalize the proportion of each particle size range so that, after excluding the data of the particle size range determined to be a confidence limit range, the total sum of the volume fractions belonging to the remaining confidence ranges becomes 1 (or 100%).
[0164] And, the processor (220) can calculate the central particle size, which is the particle size corresponding to a cumulative percentage of 50% from the corrected volume distribution, or obtain the average particle size by weighting the representative value of each particle size interval and the recalculated specific weight.
[0165] The particle size distribution information recalculated in this way can provide highly reliable analysis results that match the physical behavior of sediments floating in the river (20) by eliminating errors in volume fraction caused by non-physical factors such as bubbles or turbulence.
[0166] According to various embodiments of the present invention, by providing reliability determination results by particle size range in the form of a visualized graph or status flag, the end user can intuitively grasp the validity of measurement data and prevent errors in data interpretation without a complex statistical verification process.
[0167] According to various embodiments of the present invention, by excluding data from particle size ranges determined to have low reliability and recalculating the particle size distribution and representative particle size using only data from reliable ranges, distortion included in the single sensor measurement results can be eliminated and the accuracy of river suspended sediment analysis can be improved.
[0168] In addition, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the processor (220) can perform a series of processes (S310 to S360) for determining and outputting reliability by particle size range in real-time or near-real-time, not only after the event ends but also while the event is in progress.
[0169] Specifically, the processor (220) can perform a series of processes (S310 to S360) for determining and outputting reliability for each particle size interval after the event occurrence interval in time.
[0170] Additionally, the processor (220) can continuously update the coefficient of variation for each particle size interval using the volume fraction information of the river (20) that is accumulated sequentially over time within the temporal event occurrence interval, that is, while the event is in progress.
[0171] Through this, the processor (220) can provide real-time quality information to the user by dynamically determining reliable intervals and limited reliability intervals based on the statistical characteristics of the data accumulated up to that point in the course of the event. As a result, the processor (220) can support the immediate identification and response to the reliability of measurement data even when hydrological events of the river are ongoing.
[0172] Therefore, through this real-time and near-real-time reliability determination function by particle size, the processor (220) not only drastically reduces the time required for post-processing after data acquisition, but also actively responds to unexpected changes in the measurement environment at the river site to continuously secure high-quality suspended sediment data.
[0173] According to various embodiments of the present invention, by updating the variability index in real time using data accumulated during the event process, the reliability of the data can be dynamically determined even before the event ends, thereby enabling immediate quality control of field measurement data.
[0175] FIG. 8 is a detailed block diagram of a server that performs reliability verification of the particle size distribution of a river according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0181] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the reliability determination unit (850) can determine the reliability of at least one particle size range by comparing the coefficient of variation calculated by the variability calculation unit (840) with a preset threshold value. The determined result can be fed back to the data processing unit (830) so that the data processing unit (830) filters the data of the reliability limit range.
[0182] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the result output unit (860) can provide the acquired reliability verification result and refined data to the user. [0198] FIG. 10 is a flowchart of an operation method of an electronic device for performing reliability verification of particle size distribution of a river according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0199] Referring to FIG. 10, the method of operation of an electronic device for verifying the reliability of a particle size distribution of a river may include the following steps: obtaining time-series suspended sediment concentration information of the river and volume fraction information of the river corresponding to at least one particle size interval from a suspended sediment sensor (S1010); obtaining a reliability analysis time interval from the time-series suspended sediment concentration information of the river based on preset pattern information (S1020); obtaining a coefficient of variation for at least one particle size interval based on the volume fraction information of the river corresponding to the reliability analysis time interval (S1030); and comparing the obtained coefficient of variation with a preset threshold value to determine the reliability of at least one particle size interval (S1040).
[0200] For example, the preset pattern information may be in the form of a hydrograph in which suspended sediment concentration information rises from a base level and the risen suspended sediment concentration returns to the base level.
[0201] In addition, as an example, the reliability analysis time interval can be obtained from the event occurrence interval extracted from the time-series suspended sediment concentration information of the river based on preset pattern information.
[0202] In addition, as an example, the event occurrence interval can be defined as the interval from the point in time when the time-series suspended sediment concentration information begins to rise from the base level until the point in time when the risen suspended sediment concentration recovers back to the base level.
[0203] In addition, as an example, the reliability analysis time interval may be a time series interval defined by the start and end times of the extracted event occurrence interval.
[0204] In addition, for example, the coefficient of variation can be obtained based on the ratio of the mean and standard deviation of the river volume fraction information corresponding to the reliability analysis time interval.

[0213] A non-transient readable medium refers to a medium that stores data semi-permanently and can be read by a device, rather than a medium that stores data for a short period of time, such as a register, cache, or memory.
