Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a lock cup removal device, and more specifically, to a device for removing a lock cup of a cap screw that fixes a seal of an RCP (Reactor Coolant Pump). Background Technology

[0003] The Reactor Coolant Pump (RCP), a critical component of the Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) in a nuclear power plant, plays the role of circulating high-temperature, high-pressure coolant between the reactor and the steam generator.

[0004] The RCP SEAL is a key component that prevents high-temperature, high-pressure cooling water inside the pump from leaking out through the gap between the pump's rotating and stationary bodies.

[0005] The RCP SEAL is essential for maintaining the safety of the nuclear power plant by preventing high-temperature, high-pressure coolant from leaking to the outside.

[0006] These RCP SEALs consist of various parts, among which cap screws are used to secure each part of the SEAL.

[0007] In particular, the CAP SCREW is used together with a part called a LOCK CUP to ensure that it is fastened so as not to come loose even under vibration or shock.

[0008] The disassembly and assembly of the RCP SEAL circulation unit is an essential part of the regular maintenance process.

[0009] During this process, the worker must loosen the cap screw to remove the lock cup.

[0010] Previously, to remove the lock cup, tools such as monkey wrenches, long-nose pliers, and pliers were used to grasp the head of the cap screw and strike the lock cup to remove it.

[0011] This method not only had low work efficiency but also posed a risk of safety accidents, such as damage to the threads of the cap screw or physical injury to the worker.

[0012] In addition, the existing method was difficult to work with because it was difficult to center the lock cup.

[0013] There was also a problem in that the work time was prolonged and the worker's fatigue increased because the worker had to hold the threaded part of the cap screw with their hand or use pliers to maintain the center.

[0014] In addition, there was a high possibility that the threads of the cap screw would be damaged due to the impact generated during the process of striking the lock cup.

[0015] Cap screws with damaged threads cannot be reused, which can lead to increased maintenance costs.

[0016] As such, the existing lock cup removal method had several problems in terms of work efficiency, safety, and maintenance costs.

[0017] Therefore, a new lock cup removal method was needed to solve these problems, improve work efficiency, and prevent safety accidents. Prior art literature
