Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a process for manufacturing automobile license plates and a manufacturing apparatus thereof, and more specifically, to a process for manufacturing automobile license plates using aluminum coils and an apparatus used therein. Background Technology

[0002] Conventional license plates typically consist of letters or numbers painted in a different color over a base metal plate. Specifically, the primary material used to manufacture vehicle license plates is aluminum coil. Aluminum is suitable for license plate production due to its light weight and excellent corrosion resistance. The aluminum coil is cut to the required size, and the cut aluminum plate is formed using a press machine to create the license plate's shape. During this process, not only the outline of the license plate but also the spaces for the letters and numbers are created. Subsequently, a basic color is applied to the formed aluminum plate. The painting serves to provide the license plate's background color and enhance durability. Afterward, the necessary letters and numbers are printed on the license plate, primarily using screen printing technology. Additionally, a reflective film may be applied to improve readability and enhance nighttime visibility by reflecting light.

[0003] The manufacturing of vehicle license plates using such conventional painting inevitably generated pollutants, contaminating the workplace, harming the health of workers, and polluting surrounding residential areas and the natural environment.

[0004] To solve these problems, vehicle license plates have recently been manufactured by adhering a film formed from a sheet onto a metal plate, embossing the characters and numbers, and then heat-transferring a transfer paper of a different color from the metal plate or painting it onto the raised areas.

[0005] As an example of such prior art, Korean registered patent No. 10-0391976 "Method for manufacturing a vehicle license plate and a vehicle license plate produced thereby" (hereinafter referred to as Prior Art 1).

[0006] Prior art document 1 relates to a method for manufacturing a vehicle license plate and a license plate produced thereby, comprising the steps of: preparing a reflective sheet by forming it on the upper surface of a license plate; forming a predetermined mark on a transfer sheet and pre-forming a position mark so that the transfer sheet is formed at an accurate position on the license plate; transferring a transfer sheet having numbers or letters engraved on it onto the reflective sheet to form a printed layer transferred onto the reflective sheet; and protruding the number or letter portions excluding the printed layer by embossing, wherein the transfer sheet can be replaced with a film, and the license plate produced by the above method is characterized by comprising a reflective sheet formed on the upper surface of the license plate, a printed layer, and a film layer, and comprising a transfer sheet or film formed on the upper surface of the reflective sheet and having a predetermined mark and a position mark.

[0007] However, in the case of conventional technology including prior art 1, inspection of the adhesion quality of the printing film is performed manually, and there were problems such as damage to the printed surface during loading and transport processes. The problem to be solved

[0008] The present invention provides a means to minimize manpower input by accurately detecting defects occurring during the manufacturing process.

[0025] Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the attached drawings. Unless otherwise specifically defined or mentioned, terms indicating direction used in this description are based on the state shown in the drawings. Additionally, throughout each embodiment, the same reference numeral indicates the same component. Meanwhile, the thickness or dimensions of each component shown in the drawings may be exaggerated for convenience of explanation and do not imply that it must actually be constructed according to the corresponding dimensions or ratios between components.

[0027] A vehicle license plate manufacturing process and a manufacturing apparatus according to one embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2. FIG. 1 is a flowchart showing a vehicle license plate manufacturing process according to one embodiment, and FIG. 2 is a schematic diagram showing a vehicle license plate manufacturing apparatus according to one embodiment.

[0028] A manufacturing process for an automobile license plate according to one embodiment is described with reference to FIG. 1.

[0029] Aluminum coils used to manufacture vehicle license plates typically use 1050 aluminum alloy, one of the 1000 series. This alloy has excellent ductility and corrosion resistance, and its machinability can be further improved, especially through heat treatment.

[0030] First, the aluminum coil is annealed (S100). The specific conditions for the annealing process suitable for manufacturing automobile license plates are as follows. The 1050 alloy, which is mainly used for manufacturing automobile license plates, has good ductility and high stability after processing.

[0031] For aluminum alloys, annealing temperatures are generally between 300°C and 500°C, preferably at approximately 415°C. At this temperature, the alloy softens sufficiently to achieve the machinability required to form license plates. Once the temperature is set, the aluminum coil is maintained at that temperature for about 30 minutes to 2 hours. The annealing time may vary depending on the thickness of the coil and its initial properties.

[0032] After annealing, the aluminum coil is gradually cooled. Generally, the temperature is allowed to drop slowly through natural cooling in the air. Rapid cooling can cause stress or deformation in the product.

[0033] This annealing process improves the ductility of the aluminum coils used in the production of automobile license plates and contributes to increasing the product's durability; annealed aluminum is easy to process and form, and the finished license plates possess high mechanical strength and excellent appearance quality.

[0034] Next, in the heating step (S200), the annealed aluminum coil is heated as a step before laminating with the printing film. The heating step (S200) is performed through the heating device (100) shown in FIG. 2.

[0035] Subsequently, unlike a general painting method, a printing film is laminated (laminated, S300) on the upper surface of an aluminum coil in a laminating device (200) as a target for printing vehicle numbers, etc. later.

[0036] Next, the protective film is peeled off from the printed film laminated to the aluminum coil in the protective film removal device (300) (S400). Since the printed film has a protective film attached to it to protect the printed surface during transportation, etc., it is removed in this step.

[0037] Next, the aluminum coil with the protective film removed is supplied and punched (S500) is performed in the press device (400) to cut it to the size of a license plate. The feeder (410) performs the function of precisely supplying the material so that the processing according to the pressing in the press device (400) can be performed at an accurate position. At this time, to prevent a burr from forming downward due to the press processing, the positions of the upper and lower molds of the press die are reversed to punch in reverse, and the left and right sides of the license plate are press processed at once to minimize deviations in specifications. Generally, when press processing is performed in the license plate manufacturing process, a burr is formed facing downward, and in this case, when the manufactured license plate is loaded for transport, it may damage the printed surface of the license plate loaded underneath. Therefore, in the punching step according to this embodiment, the positions of the upper and lower molds of the press die are reversed to punch so that the burr is formed in an upward direction. The cut aluminum coil (hereinafter referred to as the vehicle license plate) is moved to the vision inspection unit (500) via the conveyor (495), and scrap generated during the pressing process is collected in the scrap collection box (490) and then disposed of or recycled.

[0038] Next, in the vision inspection (S600) stage, the quality of the vehicle license plate is inspected through the vision inspection unit (500), and products that pass this are loaded (S700) in the loading unit (600) and delivered.

[0040] A heating device according to one embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. 3. FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view showing a heating device among an automobile license plate manufacturing device according to one embodiment.

[0041] The heating device (100) according to the present invention includes a first housing (110), a second housing (115), a heating part (120), and a support string (121).

[0042] The first housing (110) is provided between the aluminum coil supply unit (50) and the laminating device (200), and is provided on the path of the aluminum coil (C1) being transported between the aluminum coil supply unit (50) and the laminating device (200).

[0043] The first housing (110) creates a sealed environment as much as possible so that heating by the heating unit (120) provided in a certain space inside can be carried out smoothly, thereby facilitating heating and maintaining the temperature.

[0044] The aluminum coil (C1) is placed between the aluminum coil supply unit (50) and the inlet roller unit (205) of the laminating device (200) and forms a natural curve due to its own weight. At this time, a plurality of heating units (120) are provided along the path curve formed by the aluminum coil (C1) to heat the upper surface of the aluminum coil (C1). Both ends of the support string (121) are fixed to the upper and side of the first housing (110), and the heating unit (120) is fixed so that the heating unit (120) can heat at a certain position.

[0045] The second housing (115) is provided to surround the inlet roller part (205) of the laminating device (200), and creates an environment favorable for maintaining temperature by allowing the heated aluminum coil (C1) to be transported through the internal space.

[0047] A laminating device (200) according to one embodiment is described with reference to FIGS. 4 and FIGS. 5. FIGS. 4 is a perspective view showing a laminating device among a vehicle number plate manufacturing device according to one embodiment, and FIGS. 5 is a schematic diagram showing the internal structure of a laminating device according to one embodiment.

[0048] As illustrated in FIG. 4, the laminating device (200) is equipped with a laminating device housing (210) that forms a certain space inside, a laminating device inlet roller section (205), and a laminating device outlet roller section (207).

[0049] The inlet roller section (205) of the laminating device is equipped with a plurality of rollers and functions to guide the aluminum coil, which has passed through the heating section described above, into the interior of the laminating device housing (210) while mounted thereon.

[0050] The laminating device outlet roller section (207) is equipped with a plurality of rollers and functions to guide the aluminum coil, which has completed the laminating process, to be transported to the outside from inside the laminating device housing (210).

[0051] As shown in FIG. 5, the laminating device (200) receives an aluminum coil (C1) through the inlet roller section (205) of the laminating device, laminates it with a printing film in the laminating section (250), and then discharges the laminated aluminum coil (C2) through the outlet roller section (207) of the laminating device.

[0052] After the printing film (Pa1) is unwound from the printing film unwinding unit (220), it passes through a predetermined path via a plurality of path forming rollers (240) and is supplied to the laminating unit (250). At this time, the printing film (Pa1) is supplied with both sides having a protective film attached to protect the printing surface on which the number of the vehicle license plate is printed and an attachment surface protective film attached to protect the attachment surface to be laminated to the aluminum coil (C1). In the laminating process, as shown in FIG. 5, the attachment surface protective film (Pa12) is separated starting from the separation roller (245) and wound onto the attachment surface protective film winding unit (230). That is, in the laminating unit (250), the printing film (Pa11) with the attachment surface protective film (Pa12) separated is laminated with the aluminum coil (C1). The laminating unit (250) can utilize various general laminating devices.

[0054] A protective film removal device according to one embodiment is described with reference to FIGS. 6 and 7. FIG. 6 is a perspective view showing a protective film removal device among a vehicle license plate manufacturing device according to one embodiment, and FIG. 7 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing the internal structure of the protective film removal device according to one embodiment.

[0055] The protective film removal device (300) removes the protective film from the printing film attached to the aluminum coil (C2) at the rear end of the laminating device (200) described above. At this time, the protective film refers to the protective film (Pa13) on the printing surface attached to the upper surface, i.e., the printing surface, of the laminated aluminum coil (C2). After passing through the protective film removal device (300) according to the present embodiment, the aluminum coil is laminated in a state where both the protective film attached to both sides and the protective film on the attachment surface are removed from the printing film (Pa1) described above.

[0056] Specifically, the protective film removal device (300) includes a protective film removal device housing (310), a winding unit (324), a pressure roller unit (321, 3213), and a tension adjustment roller unit (322, 3223).

[0057] The protective film removal device housing (310) has a certain space formed inside to accommodate a winding part (324), and one side is open so that a protective film (Pa13) can be introduced and wound onto the winding part (324).

[0058] A protective film removal device support (319) is provided at the lower part of the protective film removal device housing (310). The protective film removal device support (319) is formed in a shape having a plurality of legs, and a space is formed so that a path can be secured for the aluminum coil (C3) from which the protective film has been removed to pass through the center.

[0059] The winding unit (324) is provided inside the housing of the protective film removal device and winds the protective film attached to the printed surface of the printed film of the aluminum coil. It uses external power such as a motor, and the winding speed can be controlled using a reduction gear, etc.

[0060] Meanwhile, the protective film removal device housing (310) is provided with a hinge part (3211) as a rotation center where the pressure roller part (321, 3213) and the tension adjustment roller part (322, 3223) rotate.

[0061] The pressure roller section (321, 3213) includes a pressure roller (321) and a pressure roller pivot arm (3213). The pressure roller section (321, 3213) is hinge-fixed to the housing of the protective film removal device and is provided to be rotatable, and pressurizes the aluminum coil (C2) by its own weight to prevent lifting when removing the protective film (Pa13). The pressure roller (321) contacts the aluminum coil (C2) and rotates as the aluminum coil (C2) moves. The center of rotation of the pressure roller (321) is provided in the form of a pipe, and various weight parts (not shown) can be inserted in the direction of the central axis of the pressure roller (321) to adjust the degree to which the pressure roller (321) presses the aluminum coil (C2). The pressure roller pivot arm (3213) is connected to the hinge section (3211) and rotates.

[0062] The tension adjustment roller section (322, 3223) is formed integrally with the pressure roller section (321, 3213) and rotates together with the pressure roller section (321, 3213). The tension adjustment roller section (322, 3223) includes a tension adjustment roller (322) and a tension adjustment roller rotation arm (3223). The tension adjustment roller (322) adjusts the tension applied to the separation point by adjusting the length of the total path in a manner that pressurizes or releases any point in the aluminum coil transport path from the separation point where the protective film (Pa13) is separated from the aluminum coil (C2) to the winding section (324) described above. The tension adjustment roller rotation arm (3223) is formed integrally with the pressure roller rotation arm (3213) described above, so that as the pressure roller rotation arm (3213) rotates, it rotates together by the same angle. With this configuration, when the pressure roller (321) descends to press the aluminum coil (C2), the tension adjustment roller (322) presses the protective film (Pa13) on the winding path to increase the tension, and conversely, when the pressure roller (321) is lifted, the tension adjustment roller (322) releases the protective film (Pa13) on the winding path to decrease the tension.

[0063] For example, if the adhesive force of the protective film is not uniform and the pressure roller (321) is about to become lifted, the tension adjustment roller (322) reduces the tension applied to the protective film (Pa13) to respond to this.

[0065] A press device according to one embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. 8 to 12. FIG. 8 is a perspective view showing a press device among a vehicle license plate manufacturing device according to one embodiment, and FIG. 9 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing the internal structure of the press device according to one embodiment. FIG. 10 is a schematic cross-sectional view for explaining the head configuration and use of the press according to one embodiment, and FIG. 11 is a schematic diagram showing the loading state of a vehicle license plate according to a comparative example and the loading state of a vehicle license plate according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0066] The press device (400) according to the present embodiment includes a feeder (410) and a press section (420). The press section (420) includes a first press section (421a) and a second press (421b).

[0067] The press device (400) manufactures a license plate by cutting an aluminum coil (C3) with a protective film attached, which is introduced from the rear end of the protective film removal device (300), according to the specifications of the license plate. However, the aluminum coil (C3) cut after passing through the press device (400) is close to a license plate (Pt), and thereafter, a printing process such as a license plate number or a finishing process of the cut surface may be performed as needed.

[0068] The feeder (410) receives information on the movement distance and position of the aluminum coil (C3) from the sensing unit (419) and moves the aluminum coil (C3) to a position for the press process. The sensing unit (419) acquires information such as the movement distance of the aluminum coil (C3) by continuously capturing an image of the printed surface of the aluminum coil (C3) and recognizing a repeating color or pattern.

[0069] In the press section (420) according to the present embodiment, a first press section (421a) and a second press section (421b) are provided on a guide plate (419) in a spaced-apart state corresponding to the length of a vehicle license plate, and a pressure post (4213) is provided at the bottom of the press body (4211), and an upper die (422) is provided below it. Correspondingly, a lower die (423) is provided on the bottom surface, so that the upper die (422) and the lower die (423) function as a single press mold.

[0070] The first press unit (421a) and the second press unit (421b) press and cut the aluminum coil (C3) according to the specifications of the vehicle license plate. That is, the first press unit (421a) and the second press unit (421b) press and cut the aluminum coil (C3) at points corresponding to both ends of the vehicle license plate.

[0071] At this time, the first press section (421a) and the second press section (421b) each have a press mold composed of an upper mold (422) and a lower mold (423). Unlike a general press mold, the upper mold (422) and the lower mold (423) according to this embodiment are configured such that the punch and the die are formed in reverse so that the burr of the aluminum coil is formed upward.

[0072] That is, as illustrated in FIG. 10, the upper die (422) according to the present embodiment may have a cutting line blanking punch (BP) and a piercing die (4221) formed therein, and the lower die (423) may have a piercing punch (4231) and a cutting line blanking die (BD) formed therein. Through this configuration, after the pressing process, the vehicle license plate (Pt) is cut to the standard size, and the fixing hole for screw fixing is punched, generating scrap (SC). This scrap (SC) is sucked in by negative pressure by the scrap removal unit (495) and separated into the scrap collection container (490) described above.

[0073] Referring to FIG. 11, in the case of a general press operation, as shown in (A), the burr (B) is formed downward and faces the printing film (Pa14), so there is a risk that the printed surface may be damaged during transport while the plate is loaded. On the other hand, in the first press unit (421a) and the second press unit (421b) according to the present embodiment, as shown in (B), the burr (B) is formed upward, so the license plate faces the aluminum coil while the plate is loaded. For this reason, the license plate after cutting processing by the pressing device according to the present embodiment does not damage the printed surface even while the plate is loaded.

[0074] Meanwhile, the guide post (425) is similar to the general case, but differs in that an inverse elastic member (4251) that completely surrounds the outside of the guide post (425) is additionally provided. The inverse elastic member (4251) provides additional restoring force during the restoration process of the upper die after pressing.

[0075] In addition, descriptions of other parts such as stoppers, strippers, die plates, and die backing plates are omitted for convenience.

[0077] A vision inspection device according to one embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. 12. FIG. 12 is a block diagram showing a vision inspection device according to one embodiment.

[0078] The vision inspection device (500) inspects the quality of the vehicle number plate at the rear end of the press device.

[0079] A vision inspection device (500) includes a lighting module (510) that irradiates visible light and infrared light onto a vehicle license plate being transported into the vision inspection device, a vision camera (520) that captures an image of the vehicle license plate, an infrared camera (550) that captures an infrared image of the vehicle license plate, a pass / fail judgment module (530) that analyzes images from the vision camera and the infrared camera to inspect the cutting quality of the vehicle license plate and the adhesive quality of the printing film, an air compressor (540) that sprays air onto the printed surface of the vehicle license plate, and a control unit (560) that controls the on / off operation of the visible light and infrared irradiation of the lighting module and controls the shooting of the vision camera and the infrared camera according to the lighting of the lighting module.

[0080] At this time, the control unit (560) controls the air compressor to spray air while the lighting module is controlled to irradiate visible light, and simultaneously controls the vision camera to take continuous frames, and then the pass / fail judgment module determines the adhesion quality by comparing each of the continuous frames. For example, if the print quality is good, there is no difference between the frames of the image even when the air compressor (540) sprays, but if the adhesion is poor or an air pocket is formed, shaking occurs during the process of the air compressor (540) spraying, and consequently, a difference occurs between the frames of the image. The pass / fail judgment module (530) can inspect the adhesion quality of the print film by utilizing this difference between the frames of the image.

[0081] Afterwards, the vehicle license plates that have undergone quality inspection in the loading section (600) can be loaded and transported using a conveyor belt (690), and defective products can be collected through a defective product collection box (695).
