Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition for soothing skin exfoliation comprising Capryloyl Salicylic Acid and Betaine, and a method for preparing the same. Background Technology

[0002] The most important role of the skin is to act as a defense barrier protecting it from external bacterial invasion and damage, while simultaneously preventing heat and moisture loss from within. The skin is composed of several layers; the outermost layer is called the epidermis, and below it are the dermis and the subcutaneous fat layer, which are classified into three parts.

[0003] The epidermis is further subdivided into the stratum corneum, stratum granulosum, stratum spinosum, and stratum basale. Epidermal cells generated in the stratum basale take 14 days to ascend to the stratum granulosum, where keratinization begins through the action of keratohyalin. As keratinization proceeds with the cells already flattened due to the drainage of intracellular fluid, the nucleus, cytoplasm, and organelles degenerate; they are replaced by keratohyalin, which then transforms into eleidin, and finally changes into keratin, marking the end of the cell's life cycle as it is pushed up to the stratum corneum.

[0004] The stratum corneum is composed of differentiated epidermal cells (keratinocytes) and intercellular lipids (skin lipids) filling the spaces between them; it prevents substances from escaping the body and performs a defensive function that protects the human body from external physical, chemical, and biological stimuli.

[0005] In normal skin, the stratum corneum consists of 15 to 20 layers, and it takes 15 to 20 days for them to completely separate. However, as we age, the thickness of the skin's components—the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue—decreases, and the skin's moisture content decreases rapidly. Additionally, changes in the Extracellular Matrix (ECM) components that provide elasticity to the skin cause the skin to lose elasticity and wrinkle. Furthermore, the separation of the stratum corneum is delayed compared to normal, causing the stratum corneum to thicken (stratum corneum stratification) and the skin to lose vitality.

[0006] The thickening of the stratum corneum is primarily caused by a decrease in skin moisture, reduced production and activity of desmosome-degrading enzymes, and decreased cell activity, while skin aging, UV exposure, and pollution are contributing factors. If the stratum corneum, which has thickened due to these internal and external factors, is artificially thinned externally, the activity or regeneration of living cells beneath the stratum corneum increases, making the skin softer and providing effects such as wrinkle removal, inhibition of acne, and treatment. Consequently, much research is being conducted to resolve the thickening of the stratum corneum within a range that does not cause irritation.

[0007] Dead skin cells tend to accumulate easily, especially during the dry, cold winter winds or the spring dust storms; this product helps remove old dead skin cells, allowing nourishing and moisturizing creams to be effectively absorbed into the skin. Recently, demand has been increasing further due to the rise in fine dust, as it is used to remove skin impurities.

[0008] Among exfoliants, AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid), BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid), PHA (Poly Hydroxy Acid), or LHA (Lipo Hydroxy Acid) are widely known as components of peeling agents that remove dead skin cells using chemical substances. While many existing peeling agents containing AHA, BHA, or PHA have a transparent appearance, LHA has low solubility in water due to its structural peculiarities (having high lipophilicity by attaching a methyl group to the salicylic acid structure), so it precipitates easily and can only be applied in opaque formulations such as emulsions, which has limited application in formulations.

[0009] Capryloyl salicylic acid, which corresponds to LHA, is gaining attention as a next-generation exfoliation ingredient; however, it has the disadvantage of being poorly soluble and prone to precipitation, requiring it to be dissolved in high concentrations of surfactants or oils. Furthermore, existing surfactants are known to have poor user experience, cause irritation, and exhibit severe discoloration and odor changes. Therefore, research is being conducted on methods to stabilize LHA in a transparent state, but the current situation is still insufficient. The problem to be solved

[0010] Accordingly, the inventors discovered that Capryloyl Salicylic Acid can be stabilized in a formulation by utilizing the amphoteric ionic properties of Betaine, and confirmed that when Betaine is added to the cosmetic composition, Capryloyl Salicylic Acid is easily dissolved and does not precipitate when left at room temperature.

[0011] Accordingly, the objective of the present invention is to provide a cosmetic composition for alleviating skin exfoliation comprising capryloyl salicylic acid and betaine.

[0012] Another objective of the present invention is to provide a method for preparing a cosmetic composition for skin exfoliation comprising a mixing step of preparing a mixture comprising capryloyl salicylic acid and betaine. means of solving the problem

[0046] Preparation Example 1: Preparation of a cosmetic composition

[0047] A cosmetic composition was prepared according to the composition of Table 1 below. (Unit: weight%)

[0048] Example 1 Example 2 Example 3 Comparative Example 1 purified water To 100 To 100 To 100 To 100 Disodium EDTA 0.01 0.01 Tromethamine 0.01 0.01 glycerin 5 5 Xanthan sword 0.05 0.05 Pentylene glycol 2 1.5 2 1,2-hexanediol 0.9 0.9 Carbomer 0.03 0.03 propanediol 3 3 Caprylyl glycol 0.1 0.1 Polyglyceryl-10 laurate 0.2 0.2 Capryloyl salicylic acid 0.1 0.5 1 0.1 Betaine 3 29.4 29.7 -

[0049] Based on Table 1 above, raw materials ranging from purified water to carbomer were added to a main beaker and stirred at 6,000 rpm for 5 minutes using a homomixer.

[0050] Betaine was prepared in the form of a betaine solution by dissolving it in an appropriate amount of purified water along with allantoin, 1,2-hexanediol, arginine, and caffeine. Capryloyl salicylic acid (LHA) and the betaine solution were mixed and heated to 80°C to dissolve, then cooled to 45°C. Afterward, raw materials ranging from propanediol to polyglyceryl-10 laurate were added and mixed, and then slowly poured into the main beaker. Subsequently, the contents of the main beaker were stirred at 6,000 rpm using a homomixer for 5 minutes.

[0052] Test Example 1: Confirmation of Formulation Stability of Cosmetic Composition

[0053] The formulation stability of the cosmetic composition prepared in Preparation Example 1 above was visually confirmed.

[0054] Example 1 Example 2 Example 3 Comparative Example 1 Formulation stability dissolution dissolution precipitation precipitation

[0055] As can be seen in Table 2 and Figure 1, among the cosmetic compositions prepared in Preparation Example 1, the cosmetic compositions of Examples 1 and 2 containing betaine were transparent and no precipitates were observed, whereas the cosmetic composition of Comparative Example 1, which does not contain betaine, showed an opaque appearance even to the naked eye because the capryloyl salicylic acid dissolved under heating conditions precipitated as it cooled to room temperature, even though it contained a relatively small amount of capryloyl salicylic acid.

[0056] In particular, the formulation stability of the cosmetic composition of Example 1 was observed over time according to temperature conditions, and the formulation stability was maintained after being left for 3 months at temperature conditions of 25℃, 37℃, and 45℃.

[0058] Test Example 2: Confirmation of skin exfoliation-relieving effect of cosmetic composition

[0059] The skin exfoliation-relieving effect was confirmed for the cosmetic composition (test product) of Example 1, which had the best formulation stability in Test Example 1 above.

[0060] Specifically, for adults, the test site (inner forearm) was washed with IVORY soap, placed in a constant temperature and humidity chamber (temperature 22±2℃, humidity 40–60% RH) for 10 minutes, and then keratin was collected (before use). After using the test product, keratin was collected in the same manner (after use) and measured using a measuring device (Visioscan ® It was taken with a VC 20plus (Courage Khazaka electronic GmbH, Germany).

[0061] The amount of keratin was compared and evaluated by analyzing the DI (Desquamation Index) of keratin collected before and after the use of the test product.

[0062] Before use After use DI (AU) 53.78 9.09

[0063] As can be seen in Table 3 and Figures 2a and 2b, the DI value of the keratin decreased by 83.1% after using the test product compared to before using the test product, and the thickness of the keratin also decreased.
