Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to an eco-friendly tile adhesive composition with excellent long-term durability. Background Technology
[0002] In general, ceramic tiles, known for their excellent durability and beautiful colors and patterns, are primarily used as interior and exterior decorative and finishing materials during new construction or renovations in homes, offices, and factories. Recently, there has been a trend toward larger tile sizes to improve work convenience and save installation time.
[0003] Furthermore, there is a growing demand for tile installation regardless of location, even in humid areas such as restrooms, washrooms, and bathrooms. For this reason, tile adhesives are increasingly required to possess high adhesion and water resistance.
[0004] Meanwhile, tile cement mortar is used for the final finishing of the interior, exterior, and ceiling of buildings; in addition to main materials such as cement and sand, admixtures are added to enhance physical properties such as viscosity, adhesion, and workability. As one of the admixtures used in tile cement mortar, thickeners are utilized to prevent material separation, improve workability, retain the bound water necessary for cement hardening, and enhance adhesion to the substrate.
[0005] However, while thickeners improve sag resistance and water retention, they have the disadvantage of failing to extend or even shortening the workable time. Furthermore, increasing the usage amount or adding other admixtures to improve workable time enhances workability and flowability but results in a decrease in sag resistance.
[0006] In addition, if a hardening retardant is added to improve the workable time, it may cause construction disadvantages, such as delaying the development of appropriate strength by extending the hardening time of the cement.
[0007] In addition, existing tile adhesives use many compounds harmful to the human body, such as bisphenol-based solvents, epoxy resins, and urethane resins, so there is a demand for eco-friendly adhesives that are not harmful to the human body. Prior art literature

[65535] The present invention provides an adhesive composition for tiles comprising a main component and a curing agent, wherein the main component comprises 12-hydroxy-9-cis-octadecenoic acid, a plasticizer, calcium carbonate, coated calcium carbonate, and talc. The present invention provides an adhesive composition for tiles comprising 5 to 10 parts by weight of a curing agent per 100 parts by weight of a main component, wherein the main component comprises 12-hydroxy-9-cis-octadecenoic acid, an antifreeze agent, a plasticizer, titanium dioxide, calcium carbonate with a size of 3 to 10 micrometers, coated calcium carbonate, and talc. Effects of the invention
[0013] The present invention provides an eco-friendly tile adhesive composition with excellent long-term durability.
[0014] The present invention provides an adhesive composition having excellent adhesion and long-term durability despite not using epoxy resin or urethane resin. Specific details for implementing the invention
[0015] The present invention provides a tile adhesive composition comprising 5 to 10 parts by weight of a curing agent per 100 parts by weight of a main component, wherein the main component comprises 12-hydroxy-9-cis-octadecenoic acid, an antifreeze agent, a plasticizer, titanium dioxide, calcium carbonate with a size of 3 to 10 micrometers, coated calcium carbonate, and talc.
[0016] The above subject comprises 10 to 30 weight% of 12-hydroxy-9-cis-octadecenoic acid, 5 to 10 weight% of antifreeze, 1 to 3 weight% of plasticizer, 0.5 to 2 weight% of titanium dioxide, 20 to 40 weight% of calcium carbonate with a size of 3 to 10 micrometers, 10 to 20 weight% of coated calcium carbonate, and 20 to 40 weight% of talc.
[0017] The above 12-hydroxy-9-cis-octadecenoic acid is a substance having the structure of Chemical Formula 1 below. The above 12-hydroxy-9-cis-octadecenoic acid is included in an amount of 10 to 30 weight%, preferably 20 weight%, based on 100 weight% of the main component. If included below the lower limit, the adhesive effect is poor, and if included above the upper limit, the curing time may become too short.
[0018] [Chemical Formula 1]
[0019] .
[0020] The above-mentioned antifreeze acts as an antifreeze agent. Along with acrylic dispersions and W / O type emulsion thickeners having low glass transition temperatures, the antifreeze agent prevents the tile adhesive from freezing at low temperatures, thereby providing stability to the tile adhesive under low-temperature conditions. While conventional glycol-based agents can be widely used as antifreeze agents, polypropylene glycol is preferred due to its antifreeze effect and environmental benefits.
[0021] The content of the antifreeze agent may be included in an amount of 5 to 10 weight percent based on 100 weight percent of the main component. If included in excess of the lower limit, the antifreeze effect is reduced, and if included in excess of the upper limit, the adhesive strength becomes poor.
[0022] Plasticizers are additives that reduce viscosity. Plasticizers may include 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,3-pentadiol monoisobutyrate, known as Texanol, dibutyl phthalate, dioctyl terephthalate, or dioctyl phthalate. The content of the plasticizer may be 1 to 3 weight percent based on 100 weight percent of the main component. If included in excess of the above upper limit, the adhesive strength deteriorates.
[0023] Titanium dioxide is an additive used to increase the whiteness of the adhesive composition and to improve color performance when pigments are added to produce other colors. It may be included in an amount of 0.5 to 2 weight percent based on 100 weight percent of the main component. If the value is below the lower limit, the whiteness becomes too low, and if the value exceeds the upper limit, the whiteness becomes too high, which may cause eye strain.
[0024] Calcium carbonate with a size of 3 to 10 micrometers can be used as a filler. Calcium carbonate with a size of 3 to 10 micrometers can be included in an amount of 20 to 40 weight percent based on 100 weight percent of the main component.
[0025] Coated calcium carbonate can be used as a filler. Coated calcium carbonate is calcium carbonate coated with fatty acids or silica. In particular, when silica-coated calcium carbonate is used, the durability of the adhesive composition can be improved, thereby increasing the shelf life. Coated calcium carbonate may be included in an amount of 10 to 20 weight percent based on 100 weight percent of the main component.
[0026] Talc is used as a filler. Talc may be included in an amount of 20 to 40 weight percent based on 100 weight percent of the main component. If talc is included below a lower limit, the adhesive strength may decrease.
[0027] Although the above-mentioned material does not contain epoxy resin or urethane resin, it can exhibit adhesive strength comparable to existing epoxy or urethane adhesives, and is environmentally friendly as it is not harmful to the human body.
[0028] The above curing agent may be an isocyanate-based curing agent. The above curing agent may be included in an amount of 5 to 10 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the main component. If the content of the above curing agent is included below the lower limit, problems such as reduced adhesive strength and curing properties due to delayed curing of the adhesive may occur, and if it is included above the upper limit, adhesive strength and hardness may decrease, and workability may be poor.
[0029] The above tile adhesive composition may additionally include a colorant.
[0030] The above tile adhesive composition may include 5 to 10 parts by weight of a curing agent and 0.1 to 1 part by weight of a coloring agent per 100 parts by weight of a main component.
[0031] The above coloring agent may comprise 2 to 10 parts by weight of pigment per 90 to 98 parts by weight of polypropylene glycol.
[0032] The above pigment is used to sufficiently display the desired color, and one or more pigments selected from the group consisting of metal oxides, complex oxides, metal sulfides or metal carbonates containing any one component selected from iron, copper, manganese, cobalt, chromium, nickel, zinc, calcium and silver, carbon black, titanium black and titanium dioxide may be used.
[0033] The above pigment may be included in an amount of 2 to 10 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the main component. If the pigment is included in an amount less than the lower limit, a problem may arise where the color of the pigment is difficult to express sufficiently, and if it is included in an amount exceeding the upper limit, a problem may arise where the physical properties of the adhesive deteriorate due to the excessive amount of pigment added.
[0034] The adhesive composition of the present invention may optionally include additional additives to control the physical properties of the adhesive composition. As the additional additives, one or more selected from tackifiers, preservatives, defoaming agents, flame retardants, antistatic agents, etc. may be used, and the types and amounts thereof are not particularly limited.
[0035] The viscosity of the tile adhesive composition of the present invention may be 20,000 to 50,000 cps. If the viscosity is lower than the above range, it is difficult to form a sufficient film, and if it is higher than the above range, it is difficult to apply the adhesive, making construction difficult; therefore, it is preferable to use it within the above range.
[0037] The present invention will be explained in more detail below through examples and experimental examples. However, these examples and test examples are intended to illustrate the present invention, and the scope of the present invention is not limited to these examples and test examples.
