[0001] [Cross-citation of related applications]
[0002] The present application claims priority to the Chinese patent application No. 202110901975.1, filed with the Chinese Intellectual Property Office on August 6, 2021, with the invention title "Method, apparatus, device and medium for monitoring beam quality," the entire contents of said Chinese patent application incorporated by reference into the application and made part of the present application.
[0003] The present invention relates to the field of communication technology, and in particular to a method, apparatus, device, and medium for monitoring beam quality. Background Technology
[0004] In 5th Generation (5G) New Radio (NR) systems, analog beamforming of the physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) based on each control resource set (CORESET) was supported. In NR systems, on the network device side, a set of beam failure detection reference signals (BFD RS) for each serving cell of user devices is configured or predefined. The reference signals within that set are used to reflect the beam quality of the PDCCH, that is, the quality of the Transmission Configuration Indication (TCI) state. If the received power of all reference signals included in the set falls below a specific threshold, the physical layer of the user device will notify the upper layer of the user device of a beam failure event. When the number of beam failures reaches a certain number within a certain period, it is triggered for the user device to transmit a beam failure recovery request to the network device side for a specific period of time.
[0005] In the relevant technology, if a user device (UE) does not receive a Radio Resource Control (RRC) configuration for a BFD RS transmitted from the network device side, the user device (UE) may use the index value of the channel state information reference signal (CSI RS) in the TCI state within the CORESET of the monitored PDCCH as the index value of the BFD RS in the BFD RS set, and the UE may determine up to two BFD RSs. In the relevant technology, the CORESET is generally determined randomly, and the CSI RS in the TCI state within the CORESET is taken as the BFD RS. When two BFD RSs are determined within the CORESET, the beam quality of these two BFD RSs is calculated. When one BFD RS is determined within the CORESET, the other CORESET may be determined randomly, and one CSI RS in the TCI state within the other CORESET may be determined as the BFD RS. In this case, if there are two CSI RS indices in a single TCI state, the UE can use the index value of the CSI RS associated with QCL-typeD (quasi co-loacted-type D) as the index value of the BFD RS.
[0006] In 5G standards Rel-15 / 16, the CORESET of the PDCCH is a single-point transport mode, and monitoring of beam quality is ensured by specifying that the UE can determine a maximum of two BFD RSs in the protocol. Although the monitoring effect of the related technology is better in 5G standards Rel-15 / 16, it has been proposed to add a new Single Frequency Network (SFN) transport mode for the PDCCH in 5G standards Rel-17. In this transport mode, two TCI states can be enabled for each CORESET by the Media Access Control Element (MAC-CE). Each TCI state can be associated with at most one QCL-type A type information and one QCL-type D type information. The TCI states enabled in the CORESET of the SFN transport mode are associated with the CSI RSs of the two transmit and receive points.
[0007] Conventional beam quality monitoring methods have the following problems in SFN transmission mode.
[0008] A: As illustrated in FIG. 1, when the UE determines the BFD RS itself, the two BFD RS correspond to two different CORESETs, one of which contains two TCI states transmitted in SFN mode, and the other CORESET contains only one TCI state transmitted in Single Point Transmission (S-TRP) mode. However, in this case, both BFD RS are associated with two beams of a single transmission reception point (TRP) 1. In this case, beam failure monitoring can only reflect the actual beam quality of TRP 1. If the beam of TRP 1 is not operating, a beam failure event is triggered, but TRP 2 can still operate. Since beam quality monitoring cannot guarantee that the beam quality of all transmission reception points can be monitored, it cannot properly reflect the beam quality of the PDCCH.
[0009] Me: As illustrated in Fig. 2, the best possible case is that two BFD RSs determined by the UE itself correspond to a single CORESET transmitted in SFN mode. In this case, the two BFD RSs can reflect the transmit beam quality of two TRPs, but the UE can only monitor the beam quality of one CORESET. Beam monitoring is significantly limited because the number of monitored CORESETs is reduced, and the beam quality of the PDCCH cannot be accurately reflected.
[0010] It can be seen that the beam quality issues of the PDCCH cannot be accurately reflected because the related technology cannot simultaneously consider monitoring the beam quality of two transmit / receive points and multiple CORESETs. The problem to be solved
[0011] The present invention provides a method, apparatus, device, and medium for monitoring beam quality, thereby solving the problem in the prior art where the beam quality of two transmitting and receiving points and a plurality of CORESETs cannot be considered simultaneously, making it impossible to accurately reflect the beam quality of the PDCCH. means of solving the problem

[0072] To solve the problem in which the beam quality of a PDCCH cannot be accurately reflected because the related technology cannot simultaneously consider monitoring the beam quality of two transmit / receive points and multiple CORESETs, in an embodiment of the present invention, the user device determines the index value of each CORESET and the TCI state activated in each CORESET according to RRC configuration information and MAC-CE information, and determines the transmission mode of each CORESET according to the TCI state activated in each CORESET. At least one CORESET is selected as the CORESET to be monitored, wherein the CORESET to be monitored includes a CORESET in SFN transmission mode. Finally, the BFD RS to be monitored is determined according to the CSI RS associated with the TCI state activated in the CORESET to be monitored, and beam quality monitoring is performed according to each BFD RS to be monitored. In the present invention, the beam quality of at least one CORESET is monitored, and the monitored CORESET includes a CORESET in SFN transmission mode. Since the TCI state activated in the CORESET of the SFN transmission mode is associated with the CSI RS of two transmitting and receiving points, the present invention can monitor the beam quality of two transmitting and receiving points. By monitoring the beam quality of one CORESET and two transmitting and receiving points, the present invention solves the problem of the prior art, which cannot accurately reflect the beam quality of the PDCCH.

[0075] FIG. 3 is a schematic diagram of a beam quality monitoring process provided by the present invention, comprising the following steps.
[0076] S101: Receives Radio Resource Control (RRC) configuration information and Medium Access Control-Control Element (MAC-CE) information transmitted from the network device side, and determines the index value of each control resource set (CORESET) of the information and the state of the transmission configuration indication (TCI) activated in each CORESET according to the RRC configuration information and MAC-CE activation.
[0077] The network device side transmits the RRC configuration information and MAC-CE information of the PDCCH to the user device, wherein the RRC configuration information includes PDCCH transmission mode configuration information, and the MAC-CE information includes at least one TCI state enabled in each CORESET. Specifically, the following steps are performed on the network device side.
[0078] 1) Step 1: The network device side transmits the RRC configuration information of the PDCCH to the user device, wherein the RRC configuration information includes the PDCCH transmission mode configuration information, the M TCI configuration information of each CORESET, etc.
[0079] 2) Step 2: The network device side can activate one or two of the M TCI state configuration information of the RRC configuration through MAC-CE information. Here, each TCI state can be associated with at most QCL-typeA type information and one QCL-typeD type information.
[0080] 3) Step 3: The network device side transmits PDCCH to the user device through the TCI state enabled by MAC-CE.
[0081] The user device receives the RRC configuration information and MAC-CE information of the PDCCH transmitted from the network device side, and determines the index value of each CORESET and the TCI status enabled in each CORESET based on the RRC configuration information and MAC-CE information.
[0082] S102: Determine the transmission mode of each CORESET according to the TCI state activated in each CORESET, and the transmission mode includes a single frequency network (SFN) transmission mode and a single point transmission mode.
[0083] In the present invention, the transmission mode of each CORESET is determined according to the TCI state activated in each CORESET of the user device. Optionally, for each CORESET, if the number of TCI states activated in the CORESET is 1, the transmission mode of the CORESET is determined as a single-point transmission mode, and if the number of TCI states activated in the CORESET is 2, the transmission mode of the CORESET is determined as an SFN transmission mode.
[0084] S103: Select at least one CORESET to be monitored, and the CORESET to be monitored includes a CORESET in SFN transmission mode.
[0085] After determining the index value of each CORESET, the user device selects at least one CORESET to be monitored. As long as the selected CORESET to be monitored includes a CORESET in SFN transmission mode, the present invention does not limit the number of CORESETs to be monitored.
[0086] For example, the user device determines that the index values of each CORESET are CORESET 0, CORESET 1, and CORESET 2. The transport mode of CORESET 0 and CORESET 1 is single-point transport mode, and the transport mode of CORESET 2 is SFN transport mode. The selected CORESETs to monitor are CORESET 0 and CORESET 2, or CORESET 1 and CORESET 2, or CORESET 0, CORESET 1, and CORESET 2.
[0087] S104: Determine each beam failure detection reference signal (BFD RS) to be monitored based on the periodic channel state information reference signal (CSI RS) associated with the TCI state activated in each of the above CORESETs to be monitored.
[0088] The user device sets the CSI RS associated with the TCI state activated in each of the above-mentioned CORESETs to be monitored as the BFD RS to be monitored, or selects a predetermined number of CSI RSs from the CSI RSs associated with the TCI state activated in each of the above-mentioned CORESETs to be monitored as the BFD RS to be monitored. As long as the selected CSI RSs include at least one CSI RS associated with the TCI state activated in the CORESET to be monitored and the at least one CORESET to be monitored includes at least one CORESET of an SFN transmission mode, the present invention does not limit the number of BFD RSs to be monitored.
[0089] S105: Beam quality monitoring is performed according to each of the above BFD RSs to be monitored.
[0090] The user device calculates the beam quality of each BFD RS to be monitored and triggers a beam failure event if it is determined that each beam quality satisfies a preset beam failure condition. Here, the user device can calculate the beam quality of each BFD RS to be monitored, and specifically, the user device can calculate the Block Error Rate (BLER) value of each BFD RS to be monitored. If all determined BLER values are greater than a preset BLER threshold and each determined beam quality satisfies a preset beam failure condition, a beam failure event is triggered. The preset BLER threshold may be 10%.
[0091] In an embodiment of the present invention, a user device determines the index value of each CORESET and the TCI state activated in each CORESET according to RRC configuration information and MAC-CE information, and determines the transmission mode of each CORESET according to the TCI state activated in each CORESET. At least one CORESET is selected as the CORESET to be monitored, wherein the CORESET to be monitored includes a CORESET in SFN transmission mode. Finally, a BFD RS to be monitored is determined according to the CSI RS associated with the TCI state activated in the CORESET to be monitored, and beam quality monitoring is performed according to each BFD RS to be monitored. In the present invention, the beam quality of at least one CORESET is monitored, and the monitored CORESET includes a CORESET in SFN transmission mode. Since the TCI state activated in the CORESET in SFN transmission mode is associated with the CSI RS of two transmitting and receiving points, the beam quality of two transmitting and receiving points can be monitored in the present invention. In this invention, by monitoring the beam quality of one CORESET and two transmit / receive points, the problem of the conventional technology, which cannot accurately reflect the beam quality of the PDCCH, is solved.
[0092] In order to easily select a CORESET to be monitored, in the present invention, selecting at least one CORESET to be monitored as the CORESET is specifically:
[0093] Each of the above CORESETs is sorted according to a preset priority rule, and at least one CORESET is selected based on the sorting result to be the CORESET to be monitored.
[0094] The user device stores a preset priority rule. After each CORESET is determined, the CORESETs are sorted according to the preset priority rule, and then at least one CORESET is selected based on the sorting result to be monitored. For example, after sorting is complete, at least one CORESET is selected based on the order of arrival to be monitored.
[0095] In the present invention, arranging each of the CORESETs according to the preset priority rule is specifically,
[0096] Sort each of the above CORESETs according to the index value of each of the above CORESETs; wherein, a CORESET with a smaller index value has a higher priority than a CORESET with a larger index value; or,
[0097] Sort each of the above CORESETs according to the transmission mode of each of the above CORESETs; wherein, the CORESET of the SFN transmission mode has a higher priority than the CORESET of the single-point transmission mode; or,
[0098] Each of the above CORESETs is sorted according to the transmission mode and index value of each of the above CORESETs; wherein the transmission mode has a higher priority than the index value, the CORESET of the SFN transmission mode has a higher priority than the CORESET of the single-point transmission mode, and the CORESET with a small index value has a higher priority than the CORESET with a large index value.
[0099] The preset priority rules according to the present invention include the following rules.
[0100] The first rule is to sort each CORESET solely according to its index value. Here, a CORESET with a smaller index value has higher priority than a CORESET with a larger index value. For example, the CORESETs determined by the user device are CORESET 0, CORESET 1, and CORESET 2. Then, each CORESET is sorted according to its index value, and the sorted result is also CORESET 0, CORESET 1, and CORESET 2. If the transport mode of CORESET 0 or CORESET 1 is SFN transport mode, the user device designates CORESET 0 and CORESET 1 as the CORESETs to be monitored, or CORESET 0, CORESET 1, and CORESET 2 as the CORESETs to be monitored. If the transport mode of CORESET 0 and CORESET 1 is Single Point transport mode, the transport mode of CORESET 2 is SFN transport mode. To ensure that the selected CORESET to be monitored includes the CORESET in SFN transmission mode, CORESET 0, CORESET 1, and CORESET 2 are set as the CORESETs to be monitored.
[0101] The second rule is to sort each CORESET only according to the transmission mode of each CORESET. Here, a CORESET in SFN transmission mode has a higher priority than a CORESET in single-point transmission mode. As long as the order of CORESETs in SFN transmission mode takes precedence over the order of CORESETs in single-point transmission mode, the sorting of CORESETs with the same transmission mode is not restricted. For example, the CORESETs determined by the user device are CORESET 0, CORESET 1, and CORESET 2. If the transmission mode of CORESET 0 and CORESET 1 is single-point transmission mode and the transmission mode of CORESET 2 is SFN transmission mode, the sorting result is CORESET 2, CORESET 0, CORESET 1, or CORESET 2, CORESET 1, CORESET 0, and based on the sorting result, at least one CORESET is selected from front to back to be the CORESET to be monitored.
[0102] The third rule is to sort each CORESET according to its transport mode and index value. Here, the transport mode has a higher priority than the index value; CORESETs in SFN transport mode have a higher priority than CORESETs in single-point transport mode, and CORESETs with smaller index values have a higher priority than CORESETs with larger index values. In other words, the order of CORESETs in SFN transport mode takes precedence over the order of CORESETs in single-point transport mode, and CORESETs of the same transport mode are sorted according to their index values. For example, the CORESETs determined by the user device are CORESET 0, CORESET 1, CORESET 2, and CORESET 3. If the transport mode of CORESET 0 and CORESET 2 is single-point transport mode and the transport mode of CORESET 1 and CORESET 3 is SFN transport mode, the sorting result is CORESET 1, CORESET 3, CORESET 0, and CORESET 2. Next, based on the sorting results, select at least one CORESET from the front to the back to be monitored.
[0103] In order to more accurately determine the transmission mode of each CORESET, the present invention determines the transmission mode of each CORESET according to the state of the transmission configuration indication (TCI) activated in each CORESET, and specifically,
[0104] For each of the above CORESETs, determine whether the SFN configuration information of the CORESET exists in the RRC configuration information;
[0105] If the SFN configuration information of the CORESET exists in the RRC configuration information and it is determined that two TCI states are activated in the CORESET according to the MAC-CE information, the transmission mode of the CORESET is determined to be the SFN transmission mode;
[0106] If the SFN configuration information of the CORESET exists in the RRC configuration information and it is determined that a single TCI state is activated in the CORESET according to the MAC-CE information, the transmission mode of the CORESET is determined to be a single-point transmission mode;
[0107] If the SFN configuration information of the CORESET does not exist in the RRC configuration information and it is determined that a single TCI state is activated in the CORESET according to the MAC-CE information, the transmission mode of the CORESET is determined to be a single-point transmission mode.
[0108] In the present invention, for each CORESET, it is first determined whether SFN configuration information of the CORESET exists in the RRC configuration information. If it exists, the number of TCI states activated in the CORESET is determined according to the MAC-CE information. If it is determined that two TCI states are activated in the CORESET according to the MAC-CE information, the transmission mode of the CORESET is determined to be SFN transmission mode. If it is determined that one TCI state is activated in the CORESET according to the MAC-CE information, the transmission mode of the CORESET is determined to be single-point transmission mode. If SFN configuration information of the CORESET does not exist in the RRC configuration information and it is determined that one TCI state is activated in the CORESET according to the MAC-CE information, the transmission mode of the CORESET is determined to be single-point transmission mode.
[0109] That is, in the present invention, the terminal side performs the following steps.
[0110] 1) Step 1: The user device receives RRC configuration information and MAC-CE information transmitted from the network device side and determines the transmission mode and TCI configuration information of each CORESET to be monitored. Here, the following cases are included.
[0111] a) Case 1: If the SFN configuration information of PDCCH exists in the RRC configuration information and two TCI states are enabled in the current CORESET by MAC-CE, the UE considers the current CORESET's transport mode to be the SFN transport mode.
[0112] b) Case 2: If SFN configuration information of PDCCH exists in the RRC configuration information and one TCI state is activated in the current CORESET by MAC-CE, the UE considers the current CORESET's transmission mode to be a single-point transmission mode.
[0113] c) Case 3: If the SFN configuration information of PDCCH does not exist in the RRC configuration information and one TCI state is activated in the current CORESET by MAC-CE, the UE considers the current CORESET's transmission mode to be a single-point transmission mode.
[0114] In the present invention, determining each BFD RS to be monitored according to the CSI RS associated with the TCI state activated in each CORESET to be monitored is, specifically,
[0115] All CSI RSs associated with the TCI state activated in each of the above-mentioned CORESETs to be monitored shall be the respective BFD RSs to be monitored; or,
[0116] All CSI RSs associated with the activated TCI state in each of the above CORESETs to be monitored are designated as candidate CSI RSs to be monitored, and a predetermined number of candidate CSI RSs to be monitored are selected based on the alignment results of each of the above CORESETs to be designated as BFD RSs to be monitored.
[0117] The method for determining each BFD RS to be monitored in the present invention includes the following methods.
[0118] Method 1, after determining each CORESET to be monitored, without limiting the number of BFD RSs to be monitored, all CSI RSs associated with the TCI state activated in each CORESET to be monitored are designated as each BFD RS to be monitored. For example, the determined CORESETs to be monitored are CORESET 0, CORESET 1, and CORESET 2. The CSI RSs associated with the TCI state activated in CORESET 0 are CSI RS 0 and CSI RS 1. The CSI RSs associated with the TCI state activated in CORESET 1 are CSI RS 2 and CSI RS 3. The CSI RS associated with the TCI state activated in CORESET 2 is CSI RS 4. Then, CSI RS 0, CSI RS 1, CSI RS 2, CSI RS 3, and CSI RS 4 are considered as BFD RSs to be monitored.
[0119] Method 2, after determining each CORESET to be monitored, all CSI RSs associated with the TCI state activated in each CORESET to be monitored are designated as candidate CSI RSs to be monitored, and a predetermined number of candidate CSI RSs to be monitored are selected according to the alignment result of each CORESET to be monitored as BFD RSs to be monitored. It can be obtained that the predetermined number of candidate CSI RSs to be monitored includes CSI RSs associated with the TCI state activated in at least one CORESET to be monitored. At least one CORESET to be monitored includes at least one CORESET of SFN transmission mode. When the predetermined number is 4, CSI RS 0, CSI RS 1, CSI RS 2 and CSI RS 3 are considered as BFD RSs to be monitored.
[0120] That is, in the present invention, the terminal side performs the following steps.
[0121] 2) Step 2: The user device can dynamically determine more BFD RS from the BFD RS set based on the TCI status of the monitored CORESET, priority rules, and the maximum number of CORESET and / or BFD RS.
[0122] a) Step 2-1: First, the UE determines the CORESET associated with the XBFD RS based on the priority rules of all CORESETs that can be monitored within the current bandwidth and the maximum number of CORESETs. Specifically, the following methods are included.
[0123] If there are A CORESETs in the current bandwidth in SFN transmission mode, A CORESETs are determined in the SFN transmission. Specifically, this can be divided into the following two cases.
[0124] 1, if A <= X, A CORESETs are selected, and XA CORESETs are continuously selected in single-point transmission mode.
[0125] 2, if A > X, the first X CORESETs out of A CORESETs are selected according to the index value.
[0126] b) Step 2-2: The UE determines Y BFD RSs based on the determined X CORESETs and / or the maximum number Y of BFD RSs. Specifically, the following two methods are included.
[0127] Method 1: The UE uses B periodic CSI RS resources associated with QCLs in TCI state from X CORESETs as BFD RS.
[0128] Method 2: The UE takes B periodic CSI RSs associated with the QCL of the TCI state from X CORESETs as candidate CSI RSs, and selects Y candidate CSI RSs as BFD RSs based on the alignment results of each CORESET. Specifically, there are the following two cases.
[0129] If 1, B <= Y, there is no need to continue determining other BFD RS.
[0130] If 2, B>Y, the first Y CSI RSs among B CSI RSs are selected as BFD RSs.
[0131] In order for the monitored beam quality to better reflect the beam quality of the PDCCH, in the present invention, beam quality monitoring is performed according to each of the BFD RSs to be monitored, specifically,
[0132] Calculate the beam quality of each BFD RS to be monitored separately, and if it is determined that the beam quality of each BFD RS to be monitored satisfies a preset beam failure condition, trigger a beam failure event; or,
[0133] Two BFD RSs to be monitored associated with the same CORESET are designated as a BFD RS set, the beam quality of the two BFD RSs to be monitored within the BFD RS set is calculated jointly, and the beam quality of the BFD RSs in the non-BFD RS set is calculated separately, and if it is determined that each beam quality satisfies a preset beam failure condition, a beam failure event is triggered.
[0134] In the present invention, beam quality monitoring according to each of the BFD RSs to be monitored includes the following methods.
[0135] Method 1, the beam quality of each BFD RS to be monitored is calculated separately, and for each determined beam quality, it is determined whether the beam quality satisfies a preset beam failure condition. If it is determined that each determined beam quality satisfies the preset beam failure condition, a beam failure event is triggered.
[0136] Method 2, two BFD RSs to be monitored associated with the same CORESET are designated as a BFD RS set, and then the beam quality of the BFD RS set is calculated jointly and the beam quality of the BFD RS of the non-BFD RS set is calculated separately. Finally, for each determined beam quality, it is determined whether the beam quality satisfies a preset beam failure condition. If it is determined that each determined beam quality satisfies the preset beam failure condition, a beam failure event is triggered.
[0137] For two BFD RSs to be monitored associated with the same CORESET, the beam quality of the BFD RS set is calculated jointly, so it can more accurately reflect the beam quality of the CORESET and better reflect the beam quality of the PDCCH than a method that calculates the beam quality of all BFD RSs to be monitored separately.
[0138] Calculating the beam quality of each of the above-mentioned BFD RSs to be monitored separately is, specifically,
[0139] For each of the above BFD RS to be monitored, a measurement output value corresponding to the measurement scale of the BFD RS to be monitored is determined, a block error rate (BLER) value is determined according to the measurement output value, and the BLER value is set as the beam quality of the BFD RS to be monitored.
[0140] Each BFD RS to be monitored is received and measured for channel estimation, and a measurement output is performed according to the measurement scale to obtain a measurement output value corresponding to the measurement scale. Here, the measurement scale may be any one of the signal-to-interference + noise ratio (SINR), signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), or reference signal received power RSRP. After the measurement output value corresponding to the measurement scale is determined, a block error rate (BLER) value is determined according to the measurement output value, and the BLER value is set as the beam quality of the BFD RS to be monitored. If each determined BLER value is greater than a preset BLER threshold, a beam failure event is triggered.
[0141] Specifically, jointly calculating the beam quality of the two BFD RSs to be monitored within the above BFD RS set is,
[0142] A measurement output value corresponding to the measurement scale of two BFD RSs to be monitored within the above BFD RS set is determined, the two measurement output values are superimposed to determine a BLER value based on the superimposed measurement output value, and the BLER value is set as the beam quality of the above BFD RS set.
[0143] Channel measurements are performed for each of the two BFD RSs to be monitored within the above BFD RS set, and measurement outputs are produced according to the measurement scale to obtain measurement output values corresponding to each of the two BFD RSs to be monitored. A new measurement output value is obtained by superimposing the measurement output values corresponding to each of the two BFD RSs to be monitored within the set, and a BLER value is determined according to the new measurement output value. The BLER value is set as the beam quality of the above BFD RS set. Here, superimposing the measurement output values corresponding to each of the two BFD RSs to be monitored within the set can be performed by directly adding the measurement output values corresponding to each of the two BFD RSs to be monitored, or by assigning weights to each of the two BFD RSs to be monitored and obtaining a new weighted measurement output value according to the measurement output values and weights corresponding to each of the two BFD RSs to be monitored.
[0144] That is, in the present invention, the terminal side performs the following steps.
[0145] 3) Step 3: After determining the BFD RS within the BFD RS set, the user device measures and compares the beam quality and threshold values of all BFD RS in different ways, determines whether a beam failure is occurring at the current time, and directs a beam failure event to the upper layer of the user device once.
[0146] a) Method 1: If there are two BFD RSs associated with two TCI states of the same CORESET among the BFD RSs determined by the current user device, the user device calculates the beam quality of the two BFD RSs together and compares it with a defined threshold, and calculates the beam quality of the other BFD RS separately. If the calculated beam quality is greater than the threshold, the user device directs a beam failure event to the upper layer.
[0147] b) Method 2: If there are no two BFD RSs associated with two TCI states of the same CORESET among the BFD RSs determined by the current user device, the terminal may individually calculate the beam quality of each BFD RS and compare it with a defined threshold. If the beam quality of all BFD RSs is greater than the threshold, a beam failure event is indicated once to the upper layer of the user device.
[0148] 4) Step 4: When the number of beam failures reaches a specific number (obtained by the RRC configuration) within a specific period, the user device is triggered to send a beam failure recovery request to the network device side.
[0149] Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the attached drawings.
[0150] The present invention proposes a method for monitoring beam quality. When a PDCCH is transmitted downlink from different transmitting and receiving points in SFN transmission mode, the user device can monitor the transmission beam quality of each transmitting and receiving point and the beam quality of more CORESETs, thereby resolving the problem of poor communication performance in conventional methods for monitoring beam quality.
[0151] If the user device (UE) does not receive the RRC configuration from the network device side, the UE can dynamically determine more BFD RS within the BFD RS set based on the TCI status of the monitored CORESET, priority rules, and the maximum number of CORESET and / or BFD RS.
[0152] First, the UE can determine the CORESET associated with the BFD RS based on different priority rules and / or the maximum number of CORESETs. Then, the UE can dynamically determine the BFD RS based on the determined CORESET and / or the maximum number of BFD RSs.
[0153] After the user device determines more BFD RS within the BFD RS set, it measures the beam quality of all BFD RS through various cases and compares it to a threshold to determine whether a beam failure has occurred at the current time, and directs a beam failure event once to the upper layer of the user device. If the number of beam failures reaches a specific number within a specific period, it triggers the user device to send a beam failure recovery request to the network device.
[0154] Case 1: If there are two BFD RSs associated with two TCI states of the same CORESET among the BFD RSs determined by the current terminal, the user device calculates the beam quality of the two BFD RSs together and compares it to a defined threshold, and calculates the beam quality of the other BFD RS separately. If the calculated beam quality is greater than the threshold, the user device directs a beam failure event to the upper layer.
[0155] Case 2: If there are no two BFD RSs associated with two TCI states of the same CORESET among the BFD RSs determined by the current user device, the user device calculates the beam quality of each BFD RS separately and compares it with a defined threshold. If the calculated beam quality is all greater than the threshold, the user device directs a beam failure event to the upper layer.
[0156] Example 1 (for terminal-side step 1: 1 + step 2-2 method 1 + step 3 method 1 / 2):
[0157] In Example 1, as illustrated in FIG. 1, it is assumed that the network device side configures three CORESETs for each unit frequency band of the user device. Here, two CORESETs have two TCI states activated by MAC-CE. Each TCI state is associated with one QCL-typeA type information and one QCL-typeD type information, where the target QCL reference signal of QCL-typeD is periodic CSI RS. The specific process is as follows.
[0158] Network device side:
[0159] 1) Step 1: The network device side transmits the RRC configuration information of the PDCCH to the user device, wherein the RRC configuration information includes the PDCCH SFN transmission mode configuration information, the 32 TCI configuration information of each CORESET, etc. The network device side configures three CORESETs for each unit frequency band of the user device.
[0160] 2) Step 2: The network device side can activate two TCI state configuration information among the 32 TCI state configuration information of the RRC configuration through MAC-CE information, where each TCI state is associated with one QCL-typeA type information and one QCL-typeD type information. Here, the target QCL reference signal of QCL-typeD is periodic CSI RS. The specific configuration is as shown in Figure 4 below.
[0161] 3) Step 3: The network device side transmits PDCCH to the user device through the TCI state enabled by MAC-CE.
[0162] Terminal side:
[0163] 1) Step 1: The user device receives RRC configuration information and MAC-CE information transmitted from the network device side and determines the TCI configuration information of each CORESET that can be monitored. Here, the transmission mode configuration of each CORESET is as follows.
[0164] a) CORESET 0: If the SFN configuration information of PDCCH exists in the RRC configuration information and one TCI state is activated in the current CORESET by MAC-CE, the UE can consider all transmissions of the current CORESET to be in single-point transmission mode.
[0165] b) CORESET 1: If the SFN configuration information of PDCCH exists in the RRC configuration information and two TCI states are activated in the current CORESET by MAC-CE, the UE can consider all transmissions of the current CORESET to be in SFN transmission mode.
[0166] c) CORESET 2: If the SFN configuration information of PDCCH exists in the RRC configuration information and two TCI states are activated in the current CORESET by MAC-CE, the UE can consider all transmissions of the current CORESET to be in SFN transmission mode.
[0167] 2) Step 2: The user device can dynamically determine all BFD RS within the BFD RS set based on the TCI status of the monitored CORESET, priority rules, and the maximum number of CORESET and / or BFD RS.
[0168] a) Step 2-1: First, when the maximum number of CORESETs associated with BFD RS is X=2, all CORESETs that can be monitored by the UE within the current bandwidth are CORESET 0 and CORESET 1.
[0169] b) Step 2-2: Then, there is no need to limit the maximum number of BFD RSs through Method 1 of this step. That is, the UE directly determines Y BFD RSs through the two determined CORESETs. Specifically, CSI RS 0, CSI RS 1, and CSI RS 2 of Fig. 4 are included.
[0170] 3) Step 3: After determining the BFD RS within the BFD RS set, the user device determines whether a beam failure has occurred at the current time by measuring the beam quality of all BFD RS in different ways as follows and comparing the thresholds, and directs a beam failure event to the upper layer of the user device once.
[0171] a) Method 1: In this case, if the current CSI RS 0 and CSI RS 1 are associated with two TCI states of the same CORESET, the user device jointly calculates the beam quality of the two BFD RSs to derive a combined BLER, compares the combined BLER with a defined threshold (10% BLER), and separately calculates the beam quality of the other BFD RS. If all beam quality is greater than the threshold, a beam failure event is directed to the upper layer of the user device.
[0172] b) Method 2: The user device directly calculates the beam quality of each CSI RS separately. Specifically, the user device derives the BLER through the SINR of each reference signal and compares it with a defined threshold (10% BLER). If all beam qualities are greater than the threshold, a beam failure event is directed to the upper layer of the user device.
[0173] 4) Step 4: When the number of beam failures reaches a specific number (obtained by the RRC configuration) within a specific period, the user device is triggered to send a beam failure recovery request to the network device side.
[0174] Example 2 (terminal side step 1 case 1 + step 2-2 method 1 + step 3 method 1 / 2):
[0175] In Example 2, as illustrated in FIG. 5, it is assumed that the network device side configures three CORESETs for each unit frequency band of the user device. Here, two CORESETs have two TCI states activated by MAC-CE. Each TCI state is associated with one QCL-typeA type information and one QCL-typeD type information, where the target QCL reference signal of QCL-typeD is periodic CSI RS. The specific process is as follows.
[0176] Network device side:
[0177] 1) Step 1: The network device side transmits the RRC configuration information of the PDCCH to the user device, wherein the RRC configuration information includes the PDCCH SFN transmission mode configuration information, the 32 TCI configuration information of each CORESET, etc. The network device side configures three CORESETs for each unit frequency band of the user device.
[0178] 2) Step 2: The network device side can activate two TCI state configuration information among the 32 TCI state configuration information of the RRC configuration through MAC-CE information, where each TCI state is associated with one QCL-typeA type information and one QCL-typeD type information. Here, the target QCL reference signal of QCL-typeD is periodic CSI RS. The specific configuration is as shown in FIG. 5.
[0179] 3) Step 3: The network device side transmits PDCCH to the user device through the TCI state enabled by MAC-CE.
[0180] Terminal side:
[0181] 1) Step 1: The user device receives RRC configuration information and MAC-CE information transmitted from the network device side and determines the TCI configuration information of each CORESET that can be monitored. Here, the transmission mode configuration of each CORESET is as follows.
[0182] a) CORESET 0: If the SFN configuration information of PDCCH exists in the RRC configuration information and one TCI state is activated in the current CORESET by MAC-CE, the UE can consider all transmissions of the current CORESET to be in single-point transmission mode.
[0183] b) CORESET 1: If the SFN configuration information of PDCCH exists in the RRC configuration information and two TCI states are activated in the current CORESET by MAC-CE, the UE can consider all transmissions of the current CORESET to be in SFN transmission mode.
[0184] c) CORESET 2: If the SFN configuration information of PDCCH exists in the RRC configuration information and two TCI states are activated in the current CORESET by MAC-CE, the UE can consider all transmissions of the current CORESET to be in SFN transmission mode.
[0185] 2) Step 2: The terminal can dynamically determine the BFD RS within the BFD RS set based on the TCI status of the monitored CORESET, priority rules, and the maximum number of CORESET and / or BFD RS.
[0186] a) Step 2-1: First, when the maximum number of CORESETs associated with BFD RS is X=2, all CORESETs that can be monitored by the UE within the current bandwidth are CORESET 1 and 2.
[0187] b) Step 2-2: Then, there is no need to limit the maximum number of BFD RSs through Method 1 of this step. That is, the UE directly determines Y BFD RSs through the two determined CORESETs. Specifically, CSI RS 1, CSI RS 2, CSI RS 3, and CSI RS 4 of FIG. 5 are included.
[0188] 3) Step 3: After determining the BFD RS within the BFD RS set, the terminal measures the beam quality of all BFD RS in different ways as follows and compares the threshold values to determine whether a beam failure has occurred at the current time, and instructs the upper layer of the user device to conduct a beam failure event once.
[0189] a) Method 1: At this time, if CSI RS 1 and CSI RS 2 are associated with two TCI states within the same CORESET, and CSI RS 3 and CSI RS 4 are associated with two TCI states within the same CORESET, the terminal calculates the beam quality of CSI RS 1 and CSI RS 2 and CSI RS 3 and CSI RS 4 together to derive a combined BLER, compares the combined BLER with a defined threshold (10% BLER), and if the beam quality of both RS sets is greater than the threshold, it directs a beam failure event to the upper layer of the user device.
[0190] b) Method 2: The terminal directly calculates the beam quality of each CSI RS. Specifically, the user device can derive the BLER through the SINR of each reference signal and compare it with a defined threshold (10% BLER). If all beam qualities are greater than the threshold, a beam failure event is indicated once to the upper layer of the user device.
[0191] 4) Step 4: When the number of beam failures reaches a specific number (obtained by the RRC configuration) within a specific period, the user device is triggered to send a beam failure recovery request to the network device side.
[0192] Example 3 (terminal side step 1 case 1 + step 2-2 method 2 + step 3 method 1 / 2):
[0193] In Example 3, as illustrated in FIG. 6, it is assumed that the network device side configures three CORESETs for each unit frequency band of the user device. Here, two CORESETs have two TCI states activated by MAC-CE. Each TCI state is associated with one QCL-typeA type information and one QCL-typeD type information, where the target QCL reference signal of QCL-typeD is periodic CSI RS. The specific process is as follows.
[0194] Network device side:
[0195] 1) Step 1: The network device side transmits the RRC configuration information of the PDCCH to the user device, wherein the RRC configuration information includes the PDCCH SFN transmission mode configuration information, the 32 TCI configuration information of each CORESET, etc. The network device side configures three CORESETs for each unit frequency band of the user device.
[0196] 2) Step 2: The network device side can activate two TCI state configuration information among the 32 TCI state configuration information of the RRC configuration through MAC-CE information, where each TCI state is associated with one QCL-typeA type information and one QCL-typeD type information. Here, the target QCL reference signal of QCL-typeD is periodic CSI RS. The specific configuration is as shown in Fig. 6.
[0197] 3) Step 3: The network device side transmits PDCCH to the user device through the TCI state enabled by MAC-CE.
[0198] User device side:
[0199] 1) Step 1: The user device receives RRC configuration information and MAC-CE information transmitted from the network device side and determines the TCI configuration information of each CORESET that can be monitored. Here, the transmission mode configuration of each CORESET is as follows.
[0200] a) CORESET 0: If the SFN configuration information of PDCCH exists in the RRC configuration information and one TCI state is activated in the current CORESET by MAC-CE, the UE can consider all transmissions of the current CORESET to be in single-point transmission mode.
[0201] b) CORESET 1: If SFN configuration information of PDCCH exists in the RRC configuration information and two TCI states are activated in the current CORESET by MAC-CE, the UE can consider all transmissions of the current CORESET to be in SFN transmission mode.
[0202] c) CORESET 2: If SFN configuration information of PDCCH exists in the RRC configuration information and two TCI states are activated in the current CORESET by MAC-CE, the UE can consider all transmissions of the current CORESET to be in SFN transmission mode.
[0203] 2) Step 2: The user device can dynamically determine more BFD RS within the BFD RS set based on the TCI status of the monitored CORESET, priority rules, and the maximum number of CORESET and / or BFD RS.
[0204] a) Step 2-1: First, when the maximum number of CORESETs associated with BFD RS is X=2, all CORESETs that can be monitored by the UE within the current bandwidth are CORESET 0 and CORESET 1.
[0205] b) Step 2-2: Then, in this step, through Method 2, the maximum number of BFD RSs is Y=3. That is, the UE determines the BFD RSs through two determined CORESETs, specifically three BFD RSs associated with the two CORESETs, and for example, includes CSI RS 0, CSI RS 1, and CSI RS 2 of FIG. 6.
[0206] 3) Step 3: After determining the BFD RS within the BFD RS set, the user device determines whether a beam failure has occurred at the current time by measuring the beam quality of all BFD RS in different ways as follows and comparing the thresholds, and directs a beam failure event to the upper layer of the user device once.
[0207] a) Method 1: At this time, current CSI RS 1 and CSI RS 2 are associated with two TCI states within the same CORESET, and the user device calculates the beam quality of the two BFD RSs together to derive a combined BLER and compares the combined BLER with a defined threshold (10% BLER). If the jointly calculated BLER is greater than the threshold, a beam failure event is directed to the upper layer of the user device.
[0208] b) Method 2: The user device directly calculates the beam quality of each CSI RS. Specifically, the user device derives the BLER through the SINR of each reference signal and compares it with a defined threshold (10% BLER). If all beam qualities are greater than the threshold, the user device directs a beam failure event to the upper layer.
[0209] 4) Step 4: When the number of beam failures reaches a specific number (obtained by the RRC configuration) within a specific period, the user device is triggered to send a beam failure recovery request to the network device side.
[0210] Example 4 (terminal side step 1 case 1 + step 2-2 method 2 + step 3 method 1 / 2):
[0211] In Example 4, as illustrated in FIG. 7, it is assumed that the network device side configures three CORESETs for each unit frequency band of the user device. Here, two CORESETs have two TCI states activated by MAC-CE. Each TCI state is associated with one QCL-typeA type information and one QCL-typeD type information, where the target QCL reference signal of QCL-typeD is periodic CSI RS. The specific process is as follows.
[0212] Network device side:
[0213] 1) Step 1: The network device side transmits the RRC configuration information of the PDCCH to the user device, wherein the RRC configuration information includes the PDCCH SFN transmission mode configuration information, the 32 TCI configuration information of each CORESET, etc. The network device side configures three CORESETs for each unit frequency band of the user device.
[0214] 2) Step 2: The network device side can activate two TCI state configuration information among the 32 TCI state configuration information of the RRC configuration through MAC-CE information, where each TCI state is associated with one QCL-typeA type information and one QCL-typeD type information. Here, the target QCL reference signal of QCL-typeD is periodic CSI RS. The specific configuration is as shown in FIG. 7.
[0215] 3) Step 3: The network device side transmits PDCCH to the user device through the TCI state enabled by MAC-CE.
[0216] User device side:
[0217] 1) Step 1: The user device receives RRC configuration information and MAC-CE information transmitted from the network device side and determines the TCI configuration information of each CORESET that can be monitored. Here, the transmission mode configuration of each CORESET is as follows.
[0218] a) CORESET 0: If the SFN configuration information of PDCCH exists in the RRC configuration information and one TCI state is activated in the current CORESET by MAC-CE, the UE can consider all transmissions of the current CORESET to be in single-point transmission mode.
[0219] b) CORESET 1: If SFN configuration information of PDCCH exists in the RRC configuration information and two TCI states are activated in the current CORESET by MAC-CE, the UE can consider all transmissions of the current CORESET to be in SFN transmission mode.
[0220] c) CORESET 2: If SFN configuration information of PDCCH exists in the RRC configuration information and two TCI states are activated in the current CORESET by MAC-CE, the UE can consider all transmissions of the current CORESET to be in SFN transmission mode.
[0221] 2) Step 2: The user device can dynamically determine more BFD RS within the BFD RS set based on the TCI status of the monitored CORESET, priority rules, and the maximum number of CORESET and / or BFD RS.
[0222] a) Step 2-1: First, when the maximum number of CORESETs associated with BFD RS is X=2, all CORESETs that can be monitored by the UE within the current bandwidth are CORESET 1 and 2.
[0223] b) Step 2-2: Then, in this step, through method 2, the maximum number of BFD RSs is Y=4. That is, the UE determines the BFD RSs through the two determined CORESETs, specifically the four BFD RSs associated with the two CORESETs, for example, CSI RS 1, CSI RS 2, CSI RS 3, and CSI RS 4 of Fig. 7.
[0224] 3) Step 3: After determining the BFD RS within the BFD RS set, the user device determines whether a beam failure has occurred at the current time by measuring the beam quality of all BFD RS in different ways as follows and comparing the thresholds, and directs a beam failure event to the upper layer of the user device once.
[0225] a) Method 1: At this time, CSI RS 1 and CSI RS 2 are currently associated with two TCI states within the same CORESET, and the user device calculates the beam quality of the two BFD RSs together to derive a combined BLER and compares the combined BLER with a defined threshold (10% BLER). If the jointly calculated BLER is greater than the threshold, a beam failure event is directed once to the upper layer of the user device. At this time, CSI RS 3 and CSI RS 4 are currently associated with two TCI states within the same CORESET, and the user device calculates the beam quality of the two BFD RSs together to derive a combined BLER and compares the combined BLER with a defined threshold (10% BLER). If the jointly calculated BLER is greater than the threshold, a beam failure event is directed once to the upper layer of the user device.
[0226] b) Method 2: The user device directly calculates the beam quality of each CSI RS. Specifically, the user device derives the BLER through the SINR of each reference signal and compares it with a defined threshold (10% BLER). If all beam qualities are greater than the threshold, the user device directs a beam failure event to the upper layer.
[0227] 4) Step 4: When the number of beam failures reaches a specific number (obtained by the RRC configuration) within a specific period, the user device is triggered to send a beam failure recovery request to the network device side.
[0228] Example 5 (terminal side step 1 case 2 / 3 + step 2-2 method 1 + step 3 method 2):
[0229] In Example 5, as illustrated in FIG. 8, it is assumed that the network device side configures three CORESETs for each unit frequency band of the user device. Here, for all CORESETs, one TCI state is activated by MAC-CE, and each TCI state is associated with one QCL-typeA type information and one QCL-typeD type information, wherein the target QCL reference signal of QCL-typeD is periodic CSI RS. The specific process is as follows.
[0230] Network device side:
[0231] 1) Step 1: The network device side transmits the RRC configuration information of the PDCCH to the user device, wherein the RRC configuration information includes the PDCCH SFN transmission mode configuration information, the 32 TCI configuration information of each CORESET, etc. The network device side configures three CORESETs for each unit frequency band of the user device.
[0232] 2) Step 2: The network device side can activate one of the 32 TCI state configuration information of the RRC configuration through MAC-CE information. Here, each TCI state is associated with one QCL-typeA type information and one QCL-typeD type information. Here, the target QCL reference signal of QCL-typeD is periodic CSI RS. The specific configuration is as shown in FIG. 8.
[0233] 3) Step 3: The network device side transmits PDCCH to the user device through the TCI state enabled by MAC-CE.
[0234] User device side:
[0235] 1) Step 1: The user device receives RRC configuration information and MAC-CE information transmitted from the network device side and determines the TCI configuration information of each CORESET that can be monitored. Here, the transmission mode configuration of each CORESET is as follows.
[0236] CORESET 0 / 1 / 2: If the SFN configuration information of PDCCH exists in the RRC configuration information and one TCI state is activated in the current CORESET by MAC-CE, the UE can consider all transmissions of the current CORESET to be in single-point transmission mode.
[0237] 2) Step 2: The user device can dynamically determine more BFD RS within the BFD RS set based on the TCI status of the monitored CORESET, priority rules, and the maximum number of CORESET and / or BFD RS.
[0238] a) Step 2-1: First, if the maximum number of CORESETs associated with BFD RS is X=3, then all CORESETs that can be monitored by the UE within the current bandwidth are CORESET 0 / 1 / 2.
[0239] b) Step 2-2: Then, there is no need to limit the maximum number of BFD RSs through Method 1 of this step. That is, the UE directly determines the number of Y BFD RSs, which specifically include CSI RS 0, CSI RS 1, and CSI RS 2 of FIG. 8.
[0240] 3) Step 3: After the user device determines the BFD RS within the BFD RS set, since there are no two BFD RS associated with a single CORESET, the user device directly calculates the beam quality of each CSI RS. Specifically, the user device derives the BLER through the SINR of each reference signal and compares it to a defined threshold (10% BLER). If all beam qualities are greater than the threshold, the user device directs a beam failure event to the upper layer.
[0241] 4) Step 4: When the number of beam failures reaches a specific number (obtained by the RRC configuration) within a specific period, the user device is triggered to send a beam failure recovery request to the network device side.
[0242] Example 6 (terminal side step 1 case 2 / 3 + step 2-2 method 1 + step 3 method 1 / 2):
[0243] In Example 6, as illustrated in FIG. 9, it is assumed that the network device side configures three CORESETs for each unit frequency band of the user device. Here, for all CORESETs, one TCI state is activated by MAC-CE, and each TCI state is associated with one QCL-typeA type information and one QCL-typeD type information, wherein the target QCL reference signal of QCL-typeD is periodic CSI RS. The specific process is as follows.
[0244] Network device side:
[0245] 1) Step 1: The network device side transmits the RRC configuration information of the PDCCH to the user device, wherein the RRC configuration information includes the PDCCH SFN transmission mode configuration information, the 32 TCI configuration information of each CORESET, etc. The network device side configures three CORESETs for each unit frequency band of the user device.
[0246] 2) Step 2: The network device side can activate one of the 32 TCI state configuration information of the RRC configuration through MAC-CE information. Here, each TCI state is associated with one QCL-typeA type information and one QCL-typeD type information. Here, the target QCL reference signal of QCL-typeD is periodic CSI RS. The specific configuration is as shown in FIG. 9.
[0247] 3) Step 3: The network device side transmits PDCCH to the user device through the TCI state enabled by MAC-CE.
[0248] User device side:
[0249] 1) Step 1: The user device receives RRC configuration information and MAC-CE information transmitted from the network device side and determines the TCI configuration information of each CORESET that can be monitored. Here, the transmission mode configuration of each CORESET is as follows.
[0250] CORESET 0 / 1 / 2: If the SFN configuration information of PDCCH exists in the RRC configuration information and one TCI state is activated in the current CORESET by MAC-CE, the UE can consider all transmissions of the current CORESET to be in single-point transmission mode.
[0251] 2) Step 2: The user device can dynamically determine more BFD RS within the BFD RS set based on the TCI status of the monitored CORESET, priority rules, and the maximum number of CORESET and / or BFD RS.
[0252] a) Step 2-1: First, if the maximum number of CORESETs associated with BFD RS is X=3, then all CORESETs that can be monitored by the UE within the current bandwidth are CORESET 0 / 1 / 2.
[0253] b) Step 2-2: Then, there is no need to limit the maximum number of BFD RSs through Method 1 of this step. That is, the UE directly determines Y BFD RSs through the two determined CORESETs. Specifically, CSI RS 0, CSI RS 1, and CSI RS 2 of Fig. 9 are included.
[0254] 3) Step 3: After the user device determines the BFD RS within the BFD RS set, since there are no two BFD RS associated with a single CORESET, the user device directly calculates the beam quality of each CSI RS. Specifically, the user device derives the BLER through the SINR of each reference signal and compares it to a defined threshold (10% BLER). If all beam qualities are greater than the threshold, the user device directs a beam failure event to the upper layer.
[0255] 4) Step 4: When the number of beam failures reaches a specific number (obtained by the RRC configuration) within a specific period, the user device is triggered to send a beam failure recovery request to the network device side.

[0268] 3) Step 3: After the user device determines the BFD RS within the BFD RS set, since there are no two BFD RS associated with a single CORESET, the user device directly calculates the beam quality of each CSI RS. Specifically, the user device derives the BLER through the SINR of each reference signal and compares it to a defined threshold (10% BLER). If all beam qualities are greater than the threshold, the user device directs a beam failure event to the upper layer.
[0269] 4) Step 4: When the number of beam failures reaches a specific number (obtained by the RRC configuration) within a specific period, the user device is triggered to send a beam failure recovery request to the network device side.
[0270] Example 8 (Terminal side step1 case 2 / 3 + step2-2 method 2 + step3 method 1 / 2):
[0271] In Example 8, as illustrated in FIG. 11, it is assumed that the network device side configures three CORESETs for each unit frequency band of the user device. Here, for all CORESETs, one TCI state is activated by MAC-CE, and each TCI state is associated with one QCL-typeA type information and one QCL-typeD type information, wherein the target QCL reference signal of QCL-typeD is a periodic CSI RS. The specific process is as follows.
[0272] Network device side:
[0273] 1) Step 1: The network device side transmits the RRC configuration information of the PDCCH to the user device, wherein the RRC configuration information includes the PDCCH SFN transmission mode configuration information, the 32 TCI configuration information of each CORESET, etc. The network device side configures three CORESETs for each unit frequency band of the user device.
[0274] 2) Step 2: The network device side can activate one of the 32 TCI state configuration information of the RRC configuration through MAC-CE information. Here, each TCI state is associated with one QCL-typeA type information and one QCL-typeD type information. Here, the target QCL reference signal of QCL-typeD is periodic CSI RS. The specific configuration is as shown in FIG. 11.
[0275] 3) Step 3: The network device side transmits PDCCH to the user device through the TCI state enabled by MAC-CE.
[0276] User device side:
[0277] 1) Step 1: The user device receives RRC configuration information and MAC-CE information transmitted from the network device side and determines the TCI configuration information of each CORESET that can be monitored. Here, the transmission mode configuration of each CORESET is as follows.
[0278] CORESET 0 / 1 / 2: If the SFN configuration information of PDCCH exists in the RRC configuration information and one TCI state is activated in the current CORESET by MAC-CE, the UE can consider all transmissions of the current CORESET to be in single-point transmission mode.
[0279] 2) Step 2: The user device can dynamically determine more BFD RS within the BFD RS set based on the TCI status of the monitored CORESET, priority rules, and the maximum number of CORESET and / or BFD RS.
[0280] a) Step 2-1: First, if the maximum number of CORESETs associated with BFD RS is X=3, then all CORESETs that can be monitored by the UE within the current bandwidth are CORESET 0 / 1 / 2.
[0281] b) Step 2-2: Then, in this step, through method 2, the maximum number of BFD RSs is Y=2. That is, the UE determines the BFD RSs, specifically the two BFD RSs associated with the two CORESETs, for example, CSI RS 0 and CSI RS 1 in Fig. 11.
[0282] 3) Step 3: After the user device determines the BFD RS within the BFD RS set, since there are no two BFD RS associated with a single CORESET, the user device directly calculates the beam quality of each CSI RS. Specifically, the user device derives the BLER through the SINR of each reference signal and compares it to a defined threshold (10% BLER). If all beam qualities are greater than the threshold, the user device directs a beam failure event to the upper layer.
[0283] 4) Step 4: When the number of beam failures reaches a specific number (obtained by the RRC configuration) within a specific period, the user device is triggered to send a beam failure recovery request to the network device side.
[0284] The present invention proposes a method for monitoring beam quality. When a PDCCH is transmitted downlink from different transmitting and receiving points in SFN transmission mode, the UE dynamically determines more BFD RS based on the TCI status of the monitored CORESET, priority rules, and the maximum number of CORESETs and / or BFD RSs, thereby monitoring the transmit beam quality of each transmitting and receiving point and the beam quality of more CORESETs, thus resolving the problem of poor communication performance in conventional beam failure monitoring methods.
[0285] FIG. 12 is a structural diagram of a beam quality monitoring device provided by the present invention, and the device is,

[0287] A first determination unit (122) configured to determine the transmission mode of each CORESET according to the TCI state activated in each CORESET;
[0288] A second decision unit (123) configured to select at least one CORESET to be monitored;
[0289] A third determination unit (124) configured to determine each beam failure detection reference signal (BFD RS) to be monitored according to a periodic channel state information reference signal (CSI RS) associated with the TCI state activated in each of the above CORESETs to be monitored; and
[0290] It includes a monitoring unit (125) configured to perform beam quality monitoring according to each of the BFD RSs to be monitored, and
[0291] The above transmission mode includes a single frequency network (SFN) transmission mode and a single point transmission mode, and
[0292] The CORESET to be monitored above includes a CORESET in SFN transmission mode.
[0293] Specifically, the second decision unit (123) sorts each of the CORESETs according to a preset priority rule, and selects at least one CORESET based on the sorting result to be monitored.
[0294] The second decision unit (123) specifically sorts each CORESET according to the index value of each CORESET; wherein a CORESET having a small index value has a higher priority than a CORESET having a large index value; or sorts each CORESET according to the transmission mode of each CORESET; wherein a CORESET in SFN transmission mode has a higher priority than a CORESET in single-point transmission mode; or sorts each CORESET according to the transmission mode and index value of each CORESET; wherein the transmission mode has a higher priority than the index value, a CORESET in SFN transmission mode has a higher priority than a CORESET in single-point transmission mode, and a CORESET having a small index value has a higher priority than a CORESET having a large index value.
[0295] Specifically, the first decision unit (122) determines whether, for each of the CORESETs, the SFN configuration information of the CORESET exists in the RRC configuration information; if the SFN configuration information of the CORESET exists in the RRC configuration information and it is determined that two TCI states are activated in the CORESET according to the MAC-CE information, the transmission mode of the CORESET is determined to be an SFN transmission mode; if the SFN configuration information of the CORESET exists in the RRC configuration information and it is determined that one TCI state is activated in the CORESET according to the MAC-CE information, the transmission mode of the CORESET is determined to be a single-point transmission mode; and if the SFN configuration information of the CORESET does not exist in the RRC configuration information and it is determined that one TCI state is activated in the CORESET according to the MAC-CE information, the transmission mode of the CORESET is determined to be a single-point transmission mode.
[0296] Specifically, the third decision unit (124) sets all CSI RSs associated with the TCI state activated in each CORESET to be monitored as each BFD RS to be monitored; or, sets all CSI RSs associated with the TCI state activated in each CORESET to be monitored as candidate CSI RSs to be monitored, and selects a predetermined number of candidate CSI RSs to be monitored according to the alignment result of each CORESET to be monitored as BFD RSs to be monitored.
[0297] Specifically, the monitoring unit (125) separately calculates the beam quality of each BFD RS to be monitored, and if it is determined that the beam quality of each BFD RS to be monitored satisfies a preset beam failure condition, it triggers a beam failure event; or, two BFD RSs to be monitored associated with the same CORESET are made into a BFD RS set, the beam quality of two BFD RSs to be monitored within the BFD RS set is calculated jointly, the beam quality of a BFD RS in a non-BFD RS set is calculated separately, and if it is determined that each beam quality satisfies a preset beam failure condition, it triggers a beam failure event.
[0298] Specifically, the monitoring unit (125) determines a measurement output value corresponding to the measurement scale of each BFD RS to be monitored, determines a block error rate (BLER) value according to the measurement output value, and sets the BLER value as the beam quality of the BFD RS to be monitored.
[0299] Specifically, the monitoring unit (125) determines a measurement output value corresponding to the measurement scale of two BFD RSs to be monitored within the BFD RS set, superimposes the two measurement output values to determine a BLER value based on the superimposed measurement output value, and sets the BLER value as the beam quality of the BFD RS set.
