Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a modular building envelope and a method for controlling the same, and more specifically, to a functional envelope module installed on the exterior wall of a building and capable of performing functions such as an outdoor unit for heating and cooling equipment and self-generation of power, and a method for controlling the same. Background Technology
[0003] Various types of exterior materials are used to finish the walls of buildings. Finishing stones made by processing natural or artificial stone are bonded to the walls, and panels manufactured by mixing materials with excellent thermal insulation, soundproofing, and waterproofing performance are also attached. While early exterior materials for buildings were intended for aesthetic purposes, recently, as disclosed in the patent documents of the prior art literature below, they are being used to create a comfortable indoor environment by providing thermal insulation, soundproofing, and waterproofing functions. However, conventional functional exterior materials for buildings are still being developed with a focus solely on thermal insulation, soundproofing, and waterproofing.
[0004] Meanwhile, heating and cooling equipment is used in buildings such as apartment buildings, office buildings, and multi-use facilities. Generally, heating and cooling equipment consists of an indoor unit and an outdoor unit, and a heat exchanger is installed in each. In the outdoor unit, the outlet of a compressor that compresses a refrigerant or heat transfer fluid to high temperature or high pressure is connected to the outdoor heat exchanger through a four-way valve, a dryer and an expansion device are connected to the outdoor heat exchanger, and an accumulator connected to the four-way valve is connected to the inlet of the compressor. Additionally, one end of the piping of the indoor heat exchanger of the indoor unit is connected to the expansion device of the outdoor unit, and the other end of the piping is connected to the four-way valve.
[0005] In the case of cooling, the refrigerant compressed to high temperature and high pressure by the compressor moves first to the outdoor heat exchanger through the four-way valve to dissipate heat, and then the refrigerant, which is expanded by the expansion device and cooled, passes through the indoor heat exchanger to perform indoor cooling, and the refrigerant that has passed through the indoor heat exchanger circulates back to the compressor through the four-way valve.
[0006] In addition, for heating, the heat transfer fluid compressed to high temperature and high pressure in the compressor first moves to the indoor heat exchanger of the indoor unit through the 4-way valve to radiate heat into the room, thereby providing indoor heating. After passing through the indoor heat exchanger, the heat transfer fluid passes through the expansion device and the outdoor heat exchanger to undergo heat exchange, and then circulates back to the compressor through the 4-way valve.
[0007] The outdoor units of such heating and cooling equipment are typically installed outdoors, such as on building rooftops or verandas. During the summer cooling season, high outdoor temperatures cause a problem where cooling efficiency decreases when cooling the heated heat exchanger of the outdoor unit. Additionally, during the winter heating season, excessively low outdoor temperatures cause the heat transfer fluid to solidify, hindering its flow and resulting in reduced heating efficiency.
[0008] Accordingly, there is an urgent need for a solution to address the problems of conventional heating and cooling equipment. Prior art literature

[0035] Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the attached drawings.
[0037] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a modular building shell according to a first embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view along the line AA'.
[0038] As illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2, a modular building shell according to a first embodiment of the present invention comprises a rear member (11) installed on the outer wall of a building, a front member (12) spaced apart from and facing the rear member (11), and a rim member (13) wrapping the edges of the rear member (11) and the front member (12), a case (10) having an internal space, a first damper (20) disposed at the bottom of the front member (12) to control the inflow of external air into the interior of the case (10), a water spraying unit (30) disposed in the internal space of the case (10) and including a water spraying nozzle (31) that sprays water into the internal space of the case (10) to cool the external air introduced through the first damper (20), a heat exchanger (40) disposed in the internal space of the case (10) in which a predetermined fluid flows internally and exchanges heat between the flowing fluid and the external air cooled by the sprayed water, and the front member (12). It includes a second damper (50) positioned at the top that controls the discharge of external air that is cooled by sprayed water and heat-exchanged in a heat exchanger (40), and a thermoelectric element (60) positioned on the outer surface of the front member (12) that generates electricity due to the temperature difference between the internal space of the case (10) and the outside.
[0040] The present invention relates to a functional modular building envelope installed on the exterior wall of a building, capable of performing functions such as an outdoor unit for heating and cooling equipment and self-generation of power. Conventional functional building exterior materials only provide thermal insulation, soundproofing, and waterproofing functions. Furthermore, heat exchangers installed in the outdoor units of conventional heating and cooling equipment exchange heat between high-temperature outdoor air and refrigerant in the summer and between excessively low-temperature outdoor air and heat transfer fluid in the winter, resulting in reduced heating and cooling efficiency. The present invention has been devised as a means to solve these problems.
[0041] Specifically, the modular outer shell of a building according to the first embodiment of the present invention includes a case (10), a first damper (20), a water spraying unit (30), a heat exchanger (40), a second damper (50), and a thermoelectric element (60).
[0043] The case (10) provides the exterior shape of a building exterior material installed on the outer wall of a building. This case (10) is formed by combining a rear member (11), a front member (12), and a rim member (13). The rear member (11) is a member installed on the outer wall of a building, and the front member (12) is a member facing the rear member (11) while spaced apart. Therefore, a spaced-apart space is provided between the rear member (11) and the front member (12). The rim member (13) is a member that wraps around the edges of the rear member (11) and the front member (12). Thus, as the spaced-apart space is wrapped by the rim member (13), the case (10) has an internal space.
[0044] In addition, openings communicating with the internal space are formed at the lower and upper parts of the front member (12), respectively, and a first damper (20) is placed in the lower opening and a second damper (50) is placed in the upper opening.
[0046] The first damper (20) is a damper installed in an opening formed at the bottom of the front member (12). Through the first damper (20) positioned at the bottom of the front member (12), external air outside the case (10) flows into the interior of the case (10). The first damper (20) is equipped with a blade, and by opening and closing the blade, the opening is opened and closed to control the inflow of external air into the interior of the case (10). Accordingly, when the first damper (20) is open, external air flows into the interior of the case (10), and when the first damper (20) is closed, external air does not flow into the interior of the case (10), and the air inside the case (10) does not flow out to the outside.
[0047] Meanwhile, a first fan (not shown) may be installed in the internal space of the case (10) so as to face the lower opening of the front member (12). The first fan rotates to allow external air to flow into the internal space of the case (10).
[0049] The water spray unit (30) sprays water into the internal space of the case (10) to cool the external air introduced through the first damper (20). To this end, the water spray unit (30) is equipped with a water spray nozzle (31). The water spray nozzle (31) is positioned in the internal space of the case (10) and sprays water into the internal space. At this time, hot external air is introduced into the interior through the first damper (20) and cooled by evaporation. The water spray nozzle (31) may be equipped with a nozzle valve (not shown) for supplying and shutting off water. Such a nozzle valve may be implemented as an electronic valve that operates through the application or interruption of current.
[0051] The heat exchanger (40) is positioned in the internal space of the case (10) and cools or heats the fluid flowing along the interior through heat exchange. The heat exchanger (40) can constitute an outdoor unit of a heating and cooling device. Here, when the heating and cooling device operates as a cooling device, the refrigerant flows through the heat exchanger (40), and when it operates as a heating device, the heat medium flows through the heat exchanger (40). The fluid flowing along the heat exchanger (40), i.e., the refrigerant, is cooled through heat exchange with the outside air, which is evaporated and cooled by water sprayed by the water spray nozzle (31).
[0052] Here, the water spray nozzle (31) may be positioned above the heat exchanger (40). In this case, the water sprayed from the water spray nozzle (31) not only cools the outside air flowing in through the first damper (20) but also comes into direct contact with the heat exchanger (40), thereby cooling the refrigerant more efficiently.
[0053] The heat exchanger (40) may have a flow passage through which fluid flows internally, and an air passage through which external air cooled by water sprayed from a water spray nozzle (31) flows, and the flow passage and the air passage are arranged to be in contact with each other, thereby enabling heat exchange between the fluid and the external air. Here, the water sprayed from the water spray nozzle (31) may flow along the air passage to the lower part of the case (10).
[0054] Meanwhile, when the heating and cooling device operates as a heater, the heat transfer fluid flows through the heat exchanger (40), and the first damper (20) and the second damper (50) close the lower and upper openings of the front member (12). At this time, sunlight is irradiated onto the case (10), and the internal air of the case (10) is heated by solar heat, causing the temperature to rise; thus, the heat transfer fluid of the heat exchanger (40) absorbs heat from the internal air heated by solar heat.
[0055] Ultimately, when the heat exchanger (40) operates as an outdoor unit of a cooling device, the heat of the refrigerant is released to the outside air cooled by the evaporation of water, and when it operates as an outdoor unit of a heating device, the heat of the heat transfer medium is absorbed from the inside air heated by solar heat, so the cooling and heating efficiency of the cooling and heating device can be improved.
[0057] The second damper (50) is a damper installed in an opening formed at the top of the front member (12). Through the second damper (50), external air that is cooled by water sprayed from the water spray nozzle (31) and heat-exchanged in the heat exchanger (40) is discharged to the outside of the case (10). Similar to the first damper (20), the second damper (50) is also equipped with a blade, and by opening and closing the blade, the upper opening of the front member (12) is opened and closed to control the discharge of internal air discharged to the outside of the case (10). Accordingly, when the second damper (50) is opened, external air that has entered the interior through the first damper (20) is cooled and heat-exchanged before being discharged to the outside of the case (10), and when the second damper (50) is closed, the internal air of the case (10) is not discharged to the outside.
[0058] Meanwhile, a second fan (not shown) may be installed in the internal space of the case (10) so as to face the upper opening of the front member (12). The second fan rotates to cause the internal air of the case (10) to be discharged to the outside.
[0060] The thermoelectric element (60) is attached to the outer surface of the front member (12). As described above, when external air introduced through the first damper (20) is cooled by water sprayed from the water spray nozzle (31), a temperature difference occurs between the internal space of the case (10) and the outside. Additionally, when the internal air of the case (10) is heated by solar heat while the first damper (20) and the second damper (50) are closed, a temperature difference occurs between the internal space of the case (10) and the outside. In this state, the thermoelectric element (60) generates electricity due to the temperature difference between the internal space of the case (10) and the outside. Here, the generated electricity can be used as power to operate equipment installed in a building or the water spray unit (30), the first damper (20), the second damper (50), etc.
[0062] Below, an example of the water spraying unit (30) is described.
[0063] FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of a modular building shell according to a second embodiment of the present invention.
[0064] With reference to FIG. 3, the water spraying unit (30) of the modular outer shell of a building according to the second embodiment of the present invention may further include a condensate pipe (32) and a condensate control valve (33) in addition to the water spraying nozzle (31).
[0065] The condensate pipe (32) is a pipe that supplies condensate generated in the indoor unit of the air conditioner to the water spray nozzle (31). A condensate control valve (33) is installed in the condensate pipe (32) to control the supply of condensate. The condensate control valve (33) can be implemented in the form of a manual valve, an electronic valve, etc., and can control the supply of condensate by opening and closing the condensate pipe (32).
[0067] FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view of a modular building shell according to a third embodiment of the present invention.
[0068] As illustrated in FIG. 4, the water spraying unit (30) of the modular building shell according to the third embodiment of the present invention may further include a water receiving unit (34), a water pipe (35), and a pump (36) in addition to the water spraying nozzle (31).
[0069] A water collector (34) is positioned at the bottom of the internal space of the case (10) and stores water that has been sprayed and fallen from the water spray nozzle (31). A water pipe (35) is a pipe that supplies water stored in the water collector (34) to the water spray nozzle (31). A pump (36) pressurizes the water to allow it to flow along the water pipe (35) to the water spray nozzle (31).
[0070] Therefore, the water sprayed into the water spray nozzle (31) can continuously circulate and cool the outside air introduced from the outside of the case (10).
[0072] However, the water spray unit (30) does not necessarily have to be implemented as described above, and the water spray nozzle (31) can be operated by receiving water from a water tank separately installed in the building. In addition, the water spray unit (30) according to the second or third embodiment may be provided, and if the water supplied to the water spray nozzle (31) is insufficient, additional water may be supplied from the water tank.
[0074] FIG. 5 is a diagram showing the configuration of a modular building shell according to the fourth embodiment of the present invention.
[0075] Referring to FIG. 5, the modular outer shell of a building according to the fourth embodiment of the present invention may further include a storage battery (70).
[0076] The battery (70) stores electricity produced by the thermoelectric element (60). Power is required for the operation of the nozzle valve, condensate control valve (33), pump (36), first damper (20), and second damper (50) of the aforementioned water spray unit (30). Therefore, the battery (70) can supply power for the operation of at least one of the water spray unit (30), the first damper (20), and the second damper (50).
[0078] In addition, the modular building envelope according to the fourth embodiment of the present invention further includes a control unit (80), wherein the control unit (80) controls the operation of the water spray unit (30), the heat exchanger (40), the first damper (20), and the second damper (50). Such a control unit (80) may be implemented by a computing device, etc.
[0079] FIG. 6 is a flowchart of a method for controlling a modular building envelope according to an embodiment of the present invention. With reference to FIG. 6, the control unit (80) can operate in a cooling mode, a neutral mode, and a heating mode. In the cooling mode, the heat exchanger (40) operates as an outdoor heat exchanger (40) of a cooling unit, the first damper (20) and the second damper (50) are open, and water is sprayed from the water spray nozzle (31). In the neutral mode, the water spray nozzle (31) does not operate, and the first damper (20) and the second damper (50) are open. In the heating mode, the heat exchanger (40) operates as an outdoor heat exchanger (40) of a heating unit, the water spray nozzle (31) does not operate, and the first damper (20) and the second damper (50) are closed.
[0080] When the indoor temperature of the building is 26°C or higher and the relative humidity of the outside air is 70% or higher, the control unit (80) operates in a cooling mode. In this case, the control unit (80) operates the heat exchanger (40) as an outdoor heat exchanger (40) of the air conditioner, opens the first damper (20) and the second damper (50), and operates the water spray nozzle (31). Accordingly, outside air flows into the interior of the case (10) through the first damper (20), is cooled by water sprayed from the water spray nozzle (31), cools the heat exchanger (40), and is discharged to the outside through the second damper (50).
[0081] When the indoor temperature of the building is 20°C or higher and less than 26°C, the control unit (80) operates in neutral mode. Additionally, even if the indoor temperature of the building is 26°C or higher, the control unit (80) operates in neutral mode when the relative humidity of the outside air is less than 70%. Additionally, even if the indoor temperature of the building is less than 20°C but the temperature of the outside air is 5°C or higher, the control unit (80) operates in neutral mode. In this case, the heat exchanger (40) may operate as an outdoor heat exchanger (40) of the heating and cooling device or not operate according to the user's selection, but the water spray nozzle (31) does not operate, and the first damper (20) and the second damper (50) are opened. Accordingly, the outside air flowing into the first damper (20) passes through the internal space of the case (10) and is discharged through the second damper (50).
[0082] When the indoor temperature of the building is less than 20℃ and the outside air temperature is less than 5℃, it operates in heating mode. In this case, the control unit (80) operates the heat exchanger (40) as the outdoor heat exchanger (40) of the heater, closes the first damper (20) and the second damper (50), and stops the operation of the water spray nozzle (31). Accordingly, the internal air of the case (10) is heated by solar heat.
[0083] Here, in order to measure the indoor temperature, the temperature of the outside air, and the relative humidity of the outside air, a first temperature sensor for measuring the indoor temperature is placed indoors, and a second temperature sensor for measuring the temperature of the outside air and a relative humidity sensor for measuring the relative humidity may be placed in the case (10).
[0085] In summary, according to the present invention, by providing a water spray nozzle (31) and a heat exchanger (40) in the internal space of a case (10) installed on the outer wall of a building, the cooling and heating efficiency of a cooling and heating device can be improved by spraying water from the inside to cool the air flowing in from the outside, or by sealing the case (10) to heat the inside of the case (10) using solar heat. In addition, by arranging a thermoelectric element (60) on the outside of the case (10), electricity can be generated using the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the case (10), and the internal configuration can be operated using the generated electricity.
[0087] Hereinafter, a method for controlling a modular building envelope according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described. The object of control according to the present invention is the aforementioned modular building envelope, and as this has been previously described, details that overlap with it will be omitted or described only briefly below.
[0088] With reference to FIG. 6, a method for controlling a modular building envelope according to an embodiment of the present invention first measures the indoor temperature of a building in which a modular building envelope is installed, the temperature of the outside air, and the relative humidity of the outside air. For example, a first temperature sensor for measuring the indoor temperature is placed indoors, and a second temperature sensor for measuring the temperature of the outside air and a relative humidity sensor for measuring the relative humidity are placed in a case to measure the indoor temperature, the temperature of the outside air, and the relative humidity of the outside air.
[0089] When the indoor temperature of the building, the temperature of the outside air, and the relative humidity of the outside air are measured, the control unit can control the operation of the modular envelope of the building based on the indoor temperature, the temperature of the outside air, and the relative humidity of the outside air.
[0091] The control unit can operate in cooling mode, neutral mode, and heating mode. In cooling mode, the heat exchanger operates as an outdoor heat exchanger for the cooling unit, the first damper and the second damper are open, and water is sprayed from the water spray nozzle. In neutral mode, the water spray nozzle does not operate, and the first damper and the second damper are open. In heating mode, the heat exchanger operates as an outdoor heat exchanger for the heating unit, the water spray nozzle does not operate, and the first damper and the second damper are closed.
[0092] When the indoor temperature of the building is 26℃ or higher and the relative humidity of the outside air is 70% or higher, the control unit operates in cooling mode. In this case, outside air is introduced into the interior of the case through the first damper, cooled by water sprayed from the water spray nozzle, cools the heat exchanger, and is discharged to the outside through the second damper.
[0093] When the indoor temperature of the building is 20°C or higher and less than 26°C, when the indoor temperature of the building is 26°C or higher but the relative humidity of the outside air is less than 70%, or when the indoor temperature of the building is less than 20°C but the temperature of the outside air is 5°C or higher, the control unit operates in neutral mode. In this case, the outside air introduced into the first damper passes through the internal space of the case and is discharged through the second damper.
[0094] When the indoor temperature of the building is less than 20℃ and the outside air temperature is less than 5℃, it operates in heating mode. In this case, the control unit operates the heat exchanger as an outdoor heat exchanger of the heater, closes the first damper and the second damper, and stops the operation of the water spray nozzle.
[0096] Although the present invention has been described in detail through specific embodiments, this is for the purpose of specifically explaining the invention, and the invention is not limited thereto. It is evident that modifications or improvements can be made by those skilled in the art within the technical scope of the invention.
