Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a pedestrian safety device for a crosswalk using laser light, wherein the device is linked with a crosswalk traffic light and irradiates laser light onto the ground surface of a sidewalk or roadway adjacent to the crosswalk, thereby enabling pedestrians or vehicle drivers to identify the area and prevent entry into the crosswalk, thereby ensuring safety. Background Technology

[0003] A crosswalk is a place designated by road signs or road markings in accordance with the Road Traffic Act as a section provided for pedestrian crossing; it is formed across the road between sidewalks on both sides, and pedestrian traffic lights consisting of red and green lamps are provided on both sidewalks and operate in conjunction with vehicle traffic lights provided on the road.

[0004] Pedestrian traffic lights installed at crosswalks are linked with vehicle traffic lights and operate by alternating red and green lights at regular intervals to guide pedestrians who wish to use the crosswalk. However, some pedestrians may come down onto the road instead of the sidewalk to wait for the pedestrian signal, which can lead to vehicle collisions. Additionally, there are problems where pedestrians with limited mobility, such as the elderly or the disabled, attempt to cross the crosswalk too forcefully due to the short duration of the pedestrian signal, or are involved in collisions caused by vehicles starting while waiting for the signal.

[0005] As a solution to these problems, technology is disclosed that prevents pedestrians from entering the crosswalk or prevents vehicles from entering by forming a virtual fence using a laser, such as in Published Patent Application No. 10-2014-0137835 and Registered Patent Application No. 10-1810662.

[0006] In addition, the applicant has registered technology for a safety device for a crosswalk using a laser, as disclosed in Registered Patent Publication No. 10-2598190.

[0007] However, all conventional laser-based technologies form a virtual fence by irradiating the laser into the air. Even if a reflective member is provided on the opposite side to reflect the irradiated laser, the laser cannot be accurately identified or is difficult to identify as it passes through the air. In particular, during the day, it is impossible to identify the laser itself due to sunlight, which fails to alert pedestrians and drivers of vehicles. Consequently, it has not functioned at all as a safety device to induce safety. Prior art literature

[0009] Published Patent Application No. 10-2014-0137835 (Dec. 3, 2014. Pedestrian protection device for crosswalks) Registered Patent Application No. 10-1810662 (Dec. 13, 2017. Pedestrian safety system for crosswalks linked with traffic lights) Registered Patent Application No. 10-2598190 (Oct. 31, 2023. Specific details for implementing the invention

[0024] Hereinafter, a pedestrian safety device for a crosswalk using laser light according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the attached drawings.

[0025] As described above, the pedestrian safety device using laser light according to the present invention is installed on a sidewalk or roadway adjacent to a pedestrian crossing entrance where a traffic light is installed, and is a safety device designed to ensure pedestrian safety by preventing pedestrians or vehicles from entering the pedestrian crossing.

[0026] The present invention may be installed in only one of the sidewalk and the roadway, or in both.

[0027] When the pedestrian safety device is installed on a sidewalk, it operates to emit a laser light when the pedestrian signal turns red, and when installed on a road, it is installed to be synchronized with each signal light so that it operates when the vehicle signal turns red.

[0028] The pedestrian safety device for crosswalks using laser light according to the present invention is installed on both sides of a sidewalk or roadway and, when the signal of each traffic light is red, irradiates laser light toward the ground surface to form a barrier line on the ground surface of the sidewalk or roadway, thereby enabling pedestrians or vehicle drivers to identify it.

[0029] The pedestrian safety device for a crosswalk according to the present invention consists of a support post (10), a laser irradiator (20), and a guide cover (30).

[0030] The support posts (10) are vertically installed on both sides of the sidewalk or roadway adjacent to the crosswalk entrance, and one side of the upper facing each other is open to form an installation space on the inside.

[0031] The upper open portion of the support (10) may be provided to be closed by a cover having a hole formed in the part through which laser light irradiated from a laser irradiator installed inside for maintenance, etc. passes, or by a transparent panel through which laser light is transmitted.

[0032] The laser irradiator (20) is installed in the upper inner installation space of the support (10), but is not installed horizontally; instead, it is installed at a downward inclination at a predetermined angle toward the sidewalk or road surface.

[0033] The laser irradiator (20) irradiates a laser beam toward the surface of the sidewalk or roadway to form a barrier line (25) that crosses the sidewalk or roadway leading to the crosswalk. In other words, a barrier line made of laser light is formed on the surface of the sidewalk or roadway so that pedestrians can be identified by vehicle drivers.

[0034] At this time, although not shown, a focusing lens is installed at the exit side from which the laser light of the laser irradiator (20) is emitted so that the laser light is focused and collected and emitted onto the floor surface of the sidewalk or roadway.

[0035] When a laser irradiator (20) is installed in a fixed state without angle adjustment while tilted downward at a predetermined angle in the downward direction, it is necessary to adjust the direction of the laser light irradiation according to the width of the crosswalk or the width of the road.

[0036] To this end, it is preferable that the laser irradiator (20) be installed on the upper inner side of the support (10) so that the tilt can be adjusted by a tilt adjustment means (40).

[0037] The tilt adjustment means (40) is, as an embodiment, composed of a rotating plate (41) rotatably installed on the upper inner side of the support (10), a guide hole (42) formed by penetrating a plurality of holes in an arc shape or at regular intervals along the edge of the rotating plate (41), and a fixing member (43) fitted into the guide hole (42) to fix the rotating plate (41) to the support (10).

[0038] The above-mentioned rotating plate (41) may be rotatably coupled directly to the support (10), or the rotating plate (41) may be rotatably coupled to a plate coupled to the inner surface of the support.

[0039] The above-mentioned rotating plate (41) may be formed in any shape, but it is preferable to form it in a circular shape rather than a square shape for easy installation and smooth angle adjustment, and the above-mentioned laser irradiator (20) is attached to one side.

[0040] For example, a laser irradiator (20) is attached to the lower side of one side of the rotating plate (41), and the guide hole (42) on the upper edge can be arc-shaped.

[0041] The guide cover (30) is installed on the upper side of the laser irradiator (20) and guides the laser light irradiated from the laser irradiator (20) in the upward and side directions to be irradiated onto the floor surface of the sidewalk or roadway.

[0042] As an example, the guide cover (30) is formed with a cross-sectional shape of '∩' to reflect laser light irradiated from the upper and side sides and guide it to be gathered and irradiated towards the center. It is installed at a downward slope at a predetermined angle so that the laser light guided by the guide cover (30) is guided to be irradiated onto the floor surface of the sidewalk or roadway with minimal diffusion or scattering.

[0043] When the cross-sectional shape of the guide cover (30) is formed in the shape of '∩', the laser light that spreads upward and sideways is reflected and concentrated towards the center, and since the lower side is open, the laser light is irradiated from the vertical downward direction to the point reflected by the guide cover, thereby forming a clear straight line of the blocking line (25) from one side to the other on the floor surface of the sidewalk or road.

[0044] Therefore, pedestrians and vehicle drivers can identify clear barrier lines not only at night but also during the day, thereby encouraging safe walking and safe driving.

[0045] At this time, it is preferable that the above-mentioned guide (30) be installed so that its angle is adjusted by the guide adjustment means (35).

[0046] The guide cover (30) can be installed on the upper inner side of the support (10) or rotatably coupled to the laser irradiator (20) to be installed so as to be angle-adjustable, and as it is installed so as to be angle-adjustable by the guide cover adjustment means (35), the angle of the guide cover (30) can be appropriately adjusted according to the field conditions, such as the width of the entrance to the crosswalk or the width of the road.

[0047] The guide lamp adjustment means (35) is configured as an example with a hinge pin (36) that hinge-connects one side of the guide lamp (30) to one side of the surface of the rotating plate (41) so that the guide lamp (30) can be hinge-rotatably connected, an angle adjustment hole (37) formed in an arc shape or formed at regular intervals on the other side of the guide lamp (35), and an angle adjustment pin (38) that is inserted into and connected to the angle adjustment hole (37) to fix the guide lamp (30).

[0048] In addition to the above-described embodiment, the guide shade adjustment means (35) is sufficient if it is a structure capable of adjusting the angle of the guide shade.

[0049] Here, a light-gathering guide groove (31) is formed on the inner upper surface of the guide cover (30) so that laser light striking the surface is guided to the center and irradiated outward in a concentrated state.

[0050] The light-gathering guide groove (31) is formed such that its inner diameter gradually narrows from one end equipped with a laser irradiator (20) to the other end, thereby guiding the laser light to be gradually gathered and irradiated outward.

[0051] At this time, a straight guide groove (32) may be formed in the center of the light-gathering guide groove (31) so that the laser light is guided in a straight line and irradiated outward.

[0052] That is, the laser light introduced into the light-gathering guide groove (31) is guided toward the center and gathered so that it is emitted outward in a concentrated state, and the laser light introduced into the straight guide groove (32) formed in the center from the beginning is guided in a straight line so that it is emitted outward without spreading in the lateral direction, thereby allowing the laser light to be irradiated in a concentrated state as much as possible without spreading, so that the blocking line (25) can be formed more clearly.

[0053] The present invention is designed to ensure the safety of pedestrians by forming a blocking line (25) so that pedestrians or vehicle drivers can identify it, thereby preventing them from passing through the blocking line (25) when the signal is red. However, if a vehicle passes through the blocking line (25), it is necessary to inform the pedestrian or vehicle driver, as well as surrounding pedestrians, of this so that they become aware of the danger.

[0054] To this end, a detection sensor (50) is installed on the upper part of the support post (10) to detect pedestrians or vehicles passing over the upper side of the blocking line (25) and to transmit detection information to a control unit (60), and an alarm means (55) is installed to output an alarm sound according to the detection information of the detection sensor (50).

[0055] The detection sensor (50) can use a known optical sensor and can detect whether a pedestrian or vehicle has passed through the barrier line based on whether the transmitted light is received.

[0056] The above alarm means (55) can be installed on one side of the support post (10) or on one side of the pedestrian crossing signal light, and receives a control signal from the control unit (60) and outputs an alarm sound.

[0057] The alarm means (55) can be configured as, for example, a speaker and can provide an alarm by outputting a siren sound or an alarm broadcast.

[0058] According to the present invention configured as described above, by installing a guide cover on the upper side of the laser irradiator, the laser light emitted from the laser irradiator is prevented from spreading in the upward and side directions, and can be concentrated and irradiated towards the center, thereby increasing clarity. Furthermore, since the lower side of the guide cover is open, a clear, straight line of obstruction can be formed from the vertical downward direction where the laser irradiator is installed to a distant point where the laser is reflected and irradiated by the guide cover.

[0059] Therefore, it becomes possible to promote pedestrian safety by encouraging pedestrians to walk safely and encouraging vehicle drivers to drive safely. Explanation of the symbols
