Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a vehicle roof rack sanding device having a variable polishing angle adjustment function, and more specifically, to a vehicle roof rack sanding device having a variable polishing angle adjustment function capable of uniformly and efficiently polishing the upper surface and curved portions of a roof rack by precisely adjusting the entry angle of a polishing brush to match the cross-sectional shape of a roof rack having various curvatures. Background Technology
[0002] Generally, vehicle roof racks are manufactured by bending extruded aluminum, and before final installation on a vehicle, surface treatments such as painting or anodizing are performed to ensure a sleek appearance and corrosion resistance. Prior to these surface treatments, sanding or polishing is essential to remove foreign matter from the roof rack surface and create an appropriate roughness to enhance paint adhesion.
[0003] Conventional roof rack sanding devices were mostly designed with abrasive brushes installed at a fixed angle or structures capable of only simple vertical movement. However, roof racks vary in cross-sectional shape depending on the vehicle model, and in particular, the top surface is often not flat but features a rounded arch shape or curved corners.
[0004] The vehicle roof rack sanding device disclosed in Korean Registered Patent Publication No. 10-2633708 applies a method in which a weight is applied to the sanding machine body, causing the sanding unit to move up and down in accordance with changes in the height of the roof rack to perform polishing. However, this structure allows the polishing brush to move only in the vertical direction and cannot adjust the angle of the brush to match the cross-sectional shape of the roof rack.
[0005] Recently, roof racks often feature rounded arched top surfaces or curved corners rather than flat top surfaces for aerodynamic design, and brushes that descend only in a vertical direction have limitations in grinding the roof racks accordingly.
[0006] In addition, the roof rack surface polishing device disclosed in Korean Registered Patent Publication No. 10-2769284 has a structure in which the polishing means can rotate left and right, and a method is applied in which a rolling wheel follows the roof rack surface and the polishing head is tilted. This structure is complex because it requires a complex balancing device such as a separate spring or shock absorber, and it has limitations in that it is difficult to precisely polish by firmly fixing the brush at a specific angle intended by the operator because the angle changes frequently due to the contact pressure with the roof rack.
[0007] Therefore, a sanding device with a new structure is required that can actively and precisely adjust the entry angle of the brush to match various cross-sectional shapes of the roof rack (especially rounded top surfaces or inclined sides), and can maintain that angle firmly without becoming distorted during the sanding operation. Prior art literature

It is characterized by having an upper brush coupled to the rotation axis of the upper sanding motor, wherein the angle of contact with the upper part of the roof rack is variably adjusted in the circumferential direction according to the position of the upper sanding motor.
[0012] The upper and lower polishing units are further provided with an upper sanding motor bracket that is movably coupled to the arched guide plate and positionally adjustable along the extension direction of the guide hole, and the upper sanding motor is preferably mounted so as to be height-adjustable according to the wear of the upper brush.
[0013] The above-described side polishing unit preferably comprises: side brackets installed on each side of the main frame in the direction of the movement path of the roof rack; a side sanding motor mount hinged to the side bracket or connected through an arc-shaped slot, capable of adjusting the tilt angle in response to the side slope of the roof rack; a side sanding motor mounted on the side sanding motor mount; and a side brush connected to the rotation axis of the side sanding motor to polish the side of the roof rack.
[0014] It is preferable that the above-mentioned arched guide plate be positioned above the transfer path of the roof rack so as to cross the width direction of the roof rack, and be mounted on the main frame so as to be vertically adjustable.

[0025] Below, each component is explained in more detail.
[0026] The base frame (11) is formed in the shape of a rectangular frame that extends vertically and supports the entire equipment.
[0027] The main frame (21) has a rectangular frame shape that is extended vertically shorter than the base frame (11) and has a space (22) that is open laterally inside.
[0028] One side of the conveyor support frame (31) is horizontally extended and connected to the side of the base frame (11), and the other side is vertically extended and connected to the transfer conveyor (41, 51).
[0029] The entry guide unit (111) performs the role of aligning the roof rack (1) and cleaning the surface immediately before the sanding process.
[0030] The entry guide unit (111) includes a vertical guide support (112) comprising a pair of first vertical plates (112a) whose lower portions are fixed to a pair of roller support frames (43) arranged parallel to each other on both sides of the roller (21) to support the rollers (42) of the transfer conveyor (41), and a horizontal support bar (112b) connecting the upper portions of the first vertical plates (112a); a pair of support blocks (113) whose upper portions are each movably mounted on the horizontal support bar (112b) and whose moved positions can be fixed by bolts, and whose spacing between them can be adjusted left and right to match the width specifications of the roof rack (1); and a support pad (114) made of felt, non-woven fabric, or rubber is attached to the inner surface of the support blocks (113) facing each other, that is, the surface that comes into direct contact with the roof rack (1) being transferred.
[0031] The support pad (114) can primarily wipe away dust or processing oil from the surface of the roof rack (1) to increase polishing efficiency and prevent contamination of the upper and lower polishing unit (61) and the side polishing unit (91) described later. In addition, the support pad (114) can elastically support both sides of the roof rack (1) to absorb vibrations generated by the operation of the upper and lower polishing unit (61) and the side polishing unit (91).
[0032] The upper polishing section (62) of the upper and lower polishing unit (61) has a structure that can actively adjust the polishing angle to match the shape of the upper surface of the roof rack (1).
[0033] The upper grinding section (62) is installed on the front side of the main frame (21) in the direction in which the roof rack (1) enters, and has an arched guide plate (63) in which a groove (64) is formed that is inserted upward in an arc shape so as to be open downward and in the direction of passage of the roof rack (1), and a guide slot (65) is formed along the circumferential direction above the groove (64); an upper sanding motor bracket (66) is coupled to the arched guide plate (63) so as to be movable along the guide slot (65) and can be positioned along the arc-shaped extension direction of the guide slot (65); and an upper sanding motor (67) is mounted on the upper sanding motor bracket (66) so that the drive shaft (68) is directed toward the center of the circumferential track formed by the guide slot (65) and can be positioned along the curvature of the groove (64). It is equipped with an upper brush (69) that is coupled to the drive shaft (68) of the upper sanding motor and can rotate together with the drive shaft (68), and whose angle of contact with the upper part of the roof rack (1) is variably adjusted in the circumferential direction according to the position of the upper sanding motor (67).
[0034] The arched guide plate (63) is positioned above the transfer path of the roof rack (1) to cross in the width direction of the roof rack (1) and is mounted on the main frame (21) so as to be adjustable in position.
[0035] Specifically, the arched guide plate (63) is mounted so that both sides can be vertically positioned on plate coupling brackets (25) that are installed to extend vertically parallel to each other on the upper sides of the main frame (21) in the direction in which the roof rack (1) enters. The plate coupling brackets (25) each have a vertically extended height adjustment hole (26) formed on the upper and lower sides.
[0036] And, the upper sanding motor (67) is mounted on the upper sanding motor bracket (66) so as to be height-adjustable depending on the degree of wear of the upper brush (69) or the height of the roof rack (1).
[0037] A plurality of coupling holes are formed on both sides of the width of the upper sanding motor bracket (66) to allow for adjustment of the mounting position of the upper sanding motor (67).
[0038] The upper sanding motor bracket (66) is secured to the arched guide plate (63) by screwing a bolt through the guide slot (65).
[0039] Meanwhile, the lower polishing unit (72) is equipped with a lower sanding motor (73) mounted on a base frame (11) such that the drive shaft (74) faces upward and is positioned between spaced-apart conveyors (41, 51), and a lower brush (76) mounted on the drive shaft (74) to polish the lower part of the roof rack (1).
[0040] And, the side polishing unit (91) is provided with a pair of side polishing sections (92) and a side bracket support plate (99) that extends horizontally within the main frame (21) behind the upper and lower polishing unit (61) and supports the side polishing sections (92).
[0041] A pair of side grinding sections (92) are each mounted facing each other on one side or the other side of a side bracket support plate (99) facing the width direction of the roof rack (1).
[0042] Each side polishing unit (92) comprises a pair of side brackets (93) whose upper portions are fixed to a side bracket support plate (99) so as to be spaced apart from each other in the direction of the roof rack (1) transfer path, a side sanding motor mount (94) which is hinged to the side brackets (93) or connected through an arc-shaped slot and is capable of adjusting the angle of inclination corresponding to the side slope of the roof rack (1); a side sanding motor (96) mounted on the side sanding motor mount (94); and a side brush (98) which is connected to the drive shaft (97) of the side sanding motor (96) and polishes the side of the roof rack (1).
[0043] Each side polishing unit (92) can precisely polish the roof rack (1) by having a side sanding motor mount (94) rotate about an up-and-down vertical axis or tilt about a horizontal axis relative to a pair of side brackets (93) so as to be in close contact with the taper angle on both sides of the roof rack (1).
[0044] In addition, the roof rack sanding device according to the first embodiment of the present invention further comprises a roof rack detachment prevention part (88) mounted on a transfer conveyor (51) on the side where the roof rack (1) is withdrawn from the main frame (21) after sanding.
[0045] The roof rack detachment prevention unit (88) comprises a second vertical plate (89) mounted vertically on both sides of the width of the conveyor (51), and a detachment prevention roller (90) rotatably mounted on the upper part of the second vertical plates (89) so as to be positioned above the roof rack (1) being conveyed by the conveyor (51).
[0046] The operation of a roof rack sanding device according to the first embodiment of the present invention having the structure as described above will be explained.
[0047] The upper sanding motor (67) can be moved and fixed in the circumferential direction using an arched guide plate (63). As a result, unlike conventional equipment that could only move vertically, the upper brush (69) can be accurately driven in the normal direction (perpendicular direction) of the curved surface, even into the rounded corners of the upper surface of the roof rack (1) or the eccentric curved parts off-center. Therefore, the sanding blind spots are reduced, improving the overall sanding uniformity, which can significantly improve the quality of the subsequent painting process.
[0048] In addition, the height adjustment of the arched guide plate (63) itself and the fine height adjustment function of the upper sanding motor (67) allow for immediate response to various sizes of roof racks and brush wear conditions.
[0049] Since the side polishing part (92) can also be tilted through a hinge structure, it can flexibly respond to the shape of the roof rack (1) with various angles of inclination as well as vertical surfaces, thereby providing versatility that enables multi-product production with a single piece of equipment.
[0050] And, when the roof rack (1) enters the upper and lower grinding unit (61), the support pad (114) of the entry guide unit (111) firmly holds the roof rack (1) and absorbs the fine vibrations generated during grinding, thereby preventing chatter marks from forming on the sanding surface and allowing foreign substances on the surface of the roof rack (1) to be wiped away in advance.
[0051] Accordingly, the smooth surface finish of the roof rack (1) can be secured, and the lifespan can be extended by preventing contamination of the expensive polishing brush.
[0052] As such, the roof rack sanding device (10) according to the first embodiment of the present invention can fix the upper sanding motor (97) by rotating it in the circumferential direction using an arched guide plate (63), so that the brush (69) can be accurately applied to the rounded corners or eccentric curved parts of the upper surface of the roof rack (1) which were difficult to sand with conventional equipment, thereby improving the overall sanding uniformity and improving the quality of the subsequent painting process.
[0053] In addition, the roof rack sanding device (10) according to the first embodiment of the present invention can reduce fine vibrations by having the entry guide unit (111) stably support the roof rack just before grinding, thereby allowing the sanding surface to be processed smoothly.
[0054] In addition, the roof rack sanding device (10) according to the first embodiment of the present invention has a side polishing section (92) that can also be tilted, so that roof racks (1) with various cross-sectional shapes can be flexibly handled with a single piece of equipment, thereby improving productivity.
[0055] In addition, the roof rack sanding device (10) according to the first embodiment of the present invention has the advantage of being highly versatile, as it can adjust the height of the arched guide plate and perform sanding work corresponding to roof racks of various sizes.
[0056] The roof rack sanding device (10) according to the first embodiment of the present invention can provide an economic effect by preventing contamination of the polishing brush and extending its lifespan, as the support pad (114) of the entry guide unit (111) wipes off foreign substances on the surface in advance.
[0057] Meanwhile, FIGS. 5 to 7 illustrate a roof rack sanding device (210) according to a second embodiment of the present invention. Components having the same function as those in the previously illustrated drawings are indicated by the same reference numerals.
[0058] In the second embodiment of the present invention, the roof rack sanding device (210) can automatically set the sanding units to the optimal position and angle according to the shape of the roof rack (1) without manual operation by a worker.
[0059] A roof rack sanding device (210) according to a second embodiment of the present invention further comprises: an upper polishing position adjustment unit (81) that drives and adjusts the position of an upper sanding motor (67); a side polishing inclination adjustment unit (101) that adjusts the inclination of a side sanding motor (96); a shape detection unit (121) that detects the shape of a roof rack (1); and a control unit (131) that adjusts the position of an upper polishing unit (62) and the inclination of a side polishing unit (92) according to the shape of the roof rack (1).
[0060] The upper grinding position adjustment unit (81) is equipped with a rack gear (82), an arc-shaped drive gear unit (83), and an arc-shaped movement drive motor (86).
[0061] The rack gear (82) is connected to the upper sanding motor bracket (66) on one side in the longitudinal direction with the arched guide plate (63) in between by an upper sanding motor fixing bolt (70) that penetrates the guide slot (65) of the arched guide plate (63), and is extended in length to have an arc-shaped curvature that extends along the guide slot (65).
[0062] The arc-shaped drive gear unit (83) is rotatably mounted on the arch-shaped guide plate (63) and gear-connected to the rack gear (82), and is equipped with a circular gear (84) that meshes with the rack gear (82) and is rotatably mounted on the arch-shaped guide plate (63), and a worm gear (85) that meshes with the circular gear (84). The arc-shaped drive gear unit (83) may also be applied so that the worm gear (85) meshes directly with the rack gear (82) without the circular gear (84).
[0063] The arc-shaped movement drive motor (86) is mounted on the main frame (21) or the arch-shaped guide plate (63). Then, the worm gear (85) of the arc-shaped drive gear unit (83) is mounted on the drive shaft (87) of the arc-shaped movement drive motor (86).
[0064] And, a first tilt sensor (107) is mounted on one side of the upper sanding motor (67) or the upper sanding motor bracket (66). This sensor detects in real time how much the upper sanding motor (67) is currently tilted relative to the vertical axis when it moves along an arched trajectory and transmits the result to the control unit (131).
[0065] When the arc-shaped movement drive motor (86) rotates forward or backward by a signal from the control unit (131), the rack gear (82) moves by the arc-shaped drive gear unit (83), and the upper sanding motor bracket (66) moves along an arch-shaped trajectory. Through this, the operator can remotely control the grinding angle of the upper brush (69) without having to directly operate the upper sanding motor bracket (66) located at a high place.
[0066] At this time, the control unit (131) precisely controls the motor until the current angle value received as feedback from the first tilt sensor (107) matches the target angle, thereby implementing an error-free position setting.
[0067] The side grinding inclination adjustment unit (101) includes a worm wheel (102) coupled to the shaft (95) of a side sanding motor mount (94) that protrudes from the side bracket (93); and an inclination adjustment drive motor (103) mounted on the side bracket (93) or the main frame (21) and having a worm gear (105) mounted on the drive shaft (104) that meshes with the worm wheel (102).
[0068] When the drive shaft (104) of the tilt adjustment drive motor (103) rotates in the forward or reverse direction, the worm gear (105) rotates the worm wheel (102) to adjust the tilt of the side sanding motor mount (94). In particular, the worm gear method has a 'self-locking' characteristic in which the gear does not loosen when a force is applied in the reverse direction, so the angle of the side brush is firmly maintained without being twisted even by strong rebound force or vibration that occurs during the grinding operation.
[0069] In addition, a second tilt sensor (108) is mounted on one side of the side motor (96) or the side motor mount (94) to precisely measure the current tilting angle of the side brush (98).
[0070] The control unit (131) monitors the signal of the second tilt sensor (108) in real time and precisely controls the tilt control drive motor (103).
[0071] The shape detection unit (121) is installed at the entrance side of the transfer conveyor (41) or in front of the entry guide unit (111) and is configured with a vision sensor or a barcode reader to identify the cross-sectional shape or model (type) of the entering loop rack, and the control unit (131) can automatically complete the preparation for sanding by driving each motor (86, 103) with an optimal angle value stored in advance accordingly.
[0072] The roof rack sanding device (210) in the second embodiment of the present invention has the advantage of significantly reducing the setting time according to the change of roof rack model and ensuring consistent sanding quality regardless of the operator's skill level.
[0073] Although the vehicle roof rack sanding device having a variable grinding angle adjustment function according to the present invention has been described above with reference to an example illustrated in the drawings, this is merely illustrative, and those skilled in the art will understand that various modifications and equivalent alternative embodiments are possible therefrom. Accordingly, the true scope of technical protection of the present invention should be determined by the technical concept of the appended claims. Explanation of the symbols
